Champions Resurrected AU / Prelude 1: Mipha
i was gonna post this on AO3 and I still might if I write more, but here’s a brief written retelling/continuation of the Mipha & Sidon reunion comic (warnings: canon typical violence? just in case)
The crackling noise that shook through Zora’s Domain that morning was mistaken for thunder at first. Zoras chatted amongst themselves, puzzled over lightning in a cloudless sky. Even King Dorephan, who had lived long enough to experience nearly every natural oddity that occurred near the Domain, leaned forward on his throne to peer into the vast blue.
“There, Father! Do you see it?” Sidon, always eager to abandon their discussions on politics, pointed toward the falling beam as it cut through the sky. “A falling star during the day. How rare!”
“I doubt it,” Dorephan rumbled. “I’ve seen many falling stars. I’ve never seen one like that. Something is strange about it.”
“Your Majesty, we are under attack!”
Sidon only winced a little at the sharp voice, before straightening up on instinct. He watched his father shoot his advisor an amused look as he rushed in.
“I doubt that as well, Muzu,” Dorephan chuckled. “If so, our enemy’s aim could certainly use some work!”
“Your Majesty!” Muzu cried, wringing his hands. “Please, consider the possibility at least!”
Sidon tuned out the conversation, walking out to the balcony and watching the dazzling light as it descended. Now that he was really looking, it had a faint blue glow to it that seemed to be dimming as it approached the ground. Its movement was strange, bobbing through the air like it was adjusting its course. A Rito, perhaps?
Sidon certainly hoped not as he watched the light plummet behind the rocks and into the Bank of Wishes. He hadn’t met many, but from what he’d heard, the Rito weren’t particularly keen swimmers. His fins itched as thoughts of warbled squawking and the charging of Lizalfo shock arrows plagued his mind.
“I will go investigate,” Sidon said, loudly enough to cut off whatever tirade Muzu had been in the middle of.
“Sire! Surely you’re joking!” Muzu said. “You cannot be so reckless! Ever since you took on Vah Ruta, you’ve been acting as though you are invincible, insisting you handle things yourself. If you keep acting as such—”
“I am very fast and very capable. I will be back if it is anything too dangerous, I assure you!” Sidon said with a grin. He was already stepping backward towards the edge of the balcony. “You have my word.”
“My Lord!” Muzu cried as Sidon winked, before leaping gracefully off the ledge and into the waters below.
By the time Muzu had made his way to the balcony, the only trace of the prince was a slice of red cutting effortlessly through Ruto Lake.

Mipha groaned, opening her eyes and immediately regretting it as she was buffeted by the fierce wind. As she grasped uselessly at her surroundings, every nerve suddenly sparked to life as she realized she was falling. Fast.
Her right fin was pulled open by a gust and she spun with a yelp, being tossed violently through the air. It reminded her of swimming down a waterfall, the dizzying feeling of the current and gravity pulling you relentlessly toward the sharp rocks below.
“Always keep your eyes forward, my dear Mipha,” her father’s voice echoed, pulling her back to her youth when she’d foolishly closed her eyes and nearly missed the lake below. “The most dangerous thing you can do is let your fear steer you.”
Prying her eyes open, she extended her fins and clumsily straightened herself. She felt a wave of nausea hit as the faded blues of distance gave way to the vibrant greens and purples of the earth below. A long leap off a waterfall, she told herself, that’s all this was.
Mipha bit her lip as she took in the surroundings. Even from this height, she could recognize her home, even if the sight brought her little comfort in her current situation. She was positioned over the Zora River now but could feel the wind knocking her around. Even a few feet off target could spell the end, and Mipha was already more acquainted with death than she ever wished to be.
With a shaky breath, she pulled her arms to her sides and flattened her fins, picking up speed until the world blurred. The wind whistling past her was nearly loud enough to hurt but was soon muddled by the familiar sound of rushing water and bubbling air pockets. She opened her fins quickly to slow the pull downward, relenting only when the pull of gravity faded to the gentle current of the river.
When the bubbles finally cleared, Mipha found herself upsetting close to the rocky bottom of Zora River.
She could still feel her heartbeat everywhere, behind her eyes and at the ends of her fins. She fought the tears pricking her eyes, shaking as the adrenaline slowly filtered from her system.
It was only after she’d allowed herself a moment of reprieve that it clicked.
She had a heartbeat. She could see the small bubbles pushing around her as she moved the water around her. She was here, alive.
“How is this…” Mipha stared at her hands, unmistakably solid, and forgave the tremor in her voice. “What happened?”
A warm light had descended into the depths of Vah Ruta. Mipha had known instantly what it was—could feel the warmth of Hylia even through the coldness of her spirit. She briefly said her goodbyes, before capturing the light in her hands and fading away.
In all honesty, Mipha hadn’t been certain what would come after that. But hurtling toward the ground at high speeds had not been it.
“I should…what should I do?” Mipha waded anxiously back and forth beneath the turbulent current. “Should I return to the Domain? Would that cause some sort of issue? Perhaps I should return to Vah Ruta…”
Despite her fondness for her Divine Beast, Mipha couldn’t suppress the shudder that ran through her at that. Surely after committing one hundred years to her tomb, the Goddesses would forgive her stalling her return a bit.
“I’m not even sure how much time has passed since Link’s victory over Ganon…” Mipha mumbled quietly. “For all I know, thousands of years have passed. Perhaps I’ve been reincarnated? Though I don’t think one usually reincarnates as an adult. Or with their memories, for that matter.” Even passing fish seemed to eye her warily as she fidgeted in place. She groaned.
“Oh, just make up your mind, Mipha!” she scolded quietly, squishing her face. “Right, then I’ll return to the Domain and ask around. Surely someone will be able to fill in the details.”
With that, Mipha propelled herself upwards into the main current, pivoted around the bend, and smashed headlong into something.
It was large and red, but that was all Mipha could make out past the stars in her eyes. The direct hit to the nose had shocked her system, leaving her nearly blind in the water. Dazed, she pushed upwards until water gave way to cool air. She shook her head, which only served to worsen the ringing in her ears.
Thankful at least that her sight returned, Mipha blinked and almost doubted her newly restored vision. A Zora nearly twice her size was treading water in front of her, rubbing his nose and saying something Mipha couldn’t quite make out.
“…a…logies, I must h… let the cur…nt…rry me too quickly. Are you injured? I can help you back to the Domain if you are. Again, I apologize for…” The large Zora trailed off as he looked down, blinking owlishly at Mipha.
He was familiar in a way that pulled deep at Mipha’s soul. She could see the lines of others—parts of her father, her mother, even some of herself—but it was the way his eyes lit up with an almost childlike hope that solidified what her heart already knew.
“Sidon?” She asked.
Sidon’s face split into a blinding grin.
“Sister!” He swam forward, before jolting to a stop. His eyes snapped behind her, and it was as they widened in horror that Mipha heard the charging of a shock arrow being knocked.
Spinning, Mipha reached for her trident and was met with empty air. Frantic, she launched a weak spray of water at the Lizalfo before being yanked away. She heard the arrow loose, then the sickening thunk as it embedded into skin.
She looked up at Sidon, who was hunched over her protectively. He winced, undoubtedly from the arrow lodged in his shoulder, and turned to the Lizalfo with gritted teeth.
“No!” Mipha cried. She pulled Sidon underwater, doing her best to ignore the pained yelp as she tugged on his injured arm to urge him lower.
“If I hadn’t struck the arrow with water and activated the shock before it hit you, your injury would be much more severe. We must dive deep enough that the shock radius won’t hit us if he fires again.”
“It’s just one Lizalfo, Sister!” Sidon said, but she could hear him hiss a little as he swam. “I promise, I’ve handled much worse!”
“There is never just one Lizalfo, Sidon,” She chided. “This should be deep enough. Let me heal you.”
She swam behind him, frowning at the scars that littered his body. “I need to remove the arrow before I can begin. I’m sorry.”
“It’s alright,” Sidon says, his smile strained slightly with pain. “It’s not the first time that this has happened.”
“That is what concerns me,” Mipha said quietly. She yanked the arrow out quickly before pressing her hands to the wound, pooling her energy into her palms. “I have no doubt you have defended our domain bravely, Sidon. I’m so incredibly proud of you. I only wish I could have been there to heal you and protect you from harm.”
“Sister…” Sidon said quietly. He moved to turn, but Mipha tutted at him and he stayed still, tilting his head down to stare at the riverbed below.
“It has undoubtedly been difficult since your…since you failed to return from Vah Ruta,” Sidon said. “But your unending kindness and devotion have been a beacon of hope for our whole kingdom. None more than me. You may not have known it, but there was never a moment you weren’t with me.”
He tilted his head to the side, peering over his shoulder as Mipha worked. “If I may ask, Sister, how is it that you’ve managed to return? Not that I’m ungrateful, I assure you! But…”
“In all honesty, I’m not sure myself,” Mipha said, quietly lifting her hands as the last threads of her healing magic settled into Sidon. “One moment I was aboard Vah Ruta, a spirit, finally content to move on knowing the war was won and our people were safe. Then, the next moment, I’m hurtling toward the ground, several thousand feet in the air. I’m at a loss for explanations.”
Sidon spun around quickly, eyes sparkling. “That glowing comet in the sky, that was you? That is amazing! Extraordinary!” He grabbed her hands, smiling wide. “This must be a gift from the Goddess! Payment for your hard work and sacrifice, no doubt! No one would be more deserving than you!”
At that, Mipha paused. “Do you think…The other Champions, would they have also…?”
“Perhaps so,” Sidon said, scratching his chin. “I can’t say I’ve heard anything, but admittedly I don’t keep very informed on foreign affairs. Perhaps someone else in the Domain has heard something? Or…!”
Sidon snapped to attention, smile glowing impossibly brighter. “I’ll send for Link! Surely he’ll know, as well-traveled and sociable as he is, and I have no doubt he will be thrilled to see you again! Perhaps we could even call the engagement back on!”
Mipha sputtered bubbles at Sidon’a grin. “S-Sidon! There is—was never any engagement! Link and I are friends, th-that’s all!”
Sidon frowned, looking thoughtful. “But I was positive the Zora armor was for him. It looked like a perfect fit!”
“Oh, you found that then?” Mipha said, voice pitching up an octave. “That was, erm, well it was a rash decision really. I thought better of it, hence why he never found out about it! So really, there’s no need to tell him it was even made!”
“Ah, so you didn’t end up confessing anything,” Sidon said, nodding. “Your diary entry was unclear, so I wasn’t sure whether the two of you had made proper arrangements or not. Poor Link remembers very little from that time, unfortunately, and even showing him the passage didn’t seem to help.”
“You…You read my diary?” Mipha mumbled in disbelief. She then swayed a little, realization hitting her. “Link read my diary?!”
“Yes?”
“Did…Did anyone else?”
“Father, Muzu, and a very talented Rito bard named Kass.”
Mipha made a noise like a tea kettle and Sidon looked immediately abashed, glancing away. “Er, I do hope that was alright? Father said you likely wouldn’t have minded, and I wanted so desperately to preserve your legacy.”
“Well, then I have a few words for Father,” Mipha huffed. “Reading a girl’s diary, really! How uncouth.”
She swam past him before turning, holding out a hand for Sidon. It felt a little silly now, offering to guide a Zora so much larger than herself. He must be about her age now and had clearly grown into a capable warrior. But in those eyes, Mipha could only see her young brother, still anxious to speak to others or swim too far from her side.
If Sidon took offense to the gesture, he showed no sign of it as he took her hand tightly. But then he let go, swam beside her, withdrew his trident—Mipha almost thought it was her own, but reconsidered when she noticed how large it was—and set it horizontally behind his back. He tilted his head toward it, but Mipha simply stared in confusion.
“I imagine falling from the sky was a harrowing experience, and I cannot begin to think of how taxing being revived from the dead must be,” Sidon clears his throat, eyes drifting to the side. “Allow me to carry you back. It will be easier to dodge enemies if we travel together, and I assure you I am capable. I am one of the fastest swimmers in the Domain, after all!”
Mipha stared at him a moment more before his action clicked into place. She’d done the same things for him when he was young—using her own trident as a handgrip for a much smaller Sidon as they traversed the waterfalls. Muzu had worried endlessly about it, convinced that Sidon would slip or that his grip would falter and he would go coasting off the side of a cliff. But she’d insisted that she trusted Sidon’s strength and courage, and her father had agreed to allow her to continue.
Now, Sidon swam nervously in front of her, offering his trident to her in the same gesture. She felt her heart swell, seeing that even after all these years, he hadn’t forgotten their time together. She smiled, tears threatening to spill from her eyes again as she dove behind Sidon. He turned to look, smile faltering for a moment before Mipha set a gentle hand on his shoulder.
“Forgive me, Sidon. I was overcome with emotions. I trust you, and thank you for your kindness.” She tightened her hands around the trident, and the feeling of cool Zora steel beneath her hands for the first time in a century sent a chill through her. “I’m ready when you a—re!”
Mipha bit down a yelp as Sidon shot through the water at near-blinding speeds. It took her a moment to adjust, and even the familiar Zora River left her speechless as it whipped by. She now had no doubt her brother was the strongest swimmer she’d ever met—it was as if the water itself was pushing him forward like a jet stream. It was exhilarating, almost like learning to swim all over again, and Mipha couldn’t contain the joyous laughter that pulled its way out of her.
She was here, really here, feeling the water on her scales and the cool metal under her fingers. She could see the fish and plants move as they swam by, could see the trail of bubbles in their wake. When they broke the surface of the water, cutting effortlessly up the falls of the Domain, she gasped, taking in the view.
She was with her beloved brother, in her beloved home, and she was alive.

A little catching up - Prince Sidon x Male Reader SMUT
So lmao, I finally got around to writing some nsfw content, this is actually fairly old but I figured I’d dig through some of my old files and post some things, I’m not super proud of this (deadass forgot I had it too, but I hope y’all enjoy it)
Heads-up, this doesn’t exactly reflect my current writing style (didn’t wanna rewrite all 3.2k words of it) so it might read a little funky with the first person reader.
Btw there will be more coming soon too, I’ve got a few projects in the works with CoD stuff.
CIS Women and Female Aligned people, please DNI, this story and all of my others are for non-binary, masculine aligned and male readers!
It’s been a long fucking week, first, you had to leave the domain to accompany Link on one of his quests, which left you bruised and pissed off. Then on the way back a blood moon rose to the sky and revived all the lizalfos, the octorocks, bokoblins, moblins, and even a few stray guardians that had landed themselves on the path back up to the domain. Finally reaching the bridge that led straight into the kingdom you sighed, the sun had risen by then and all you wanted to do was lay on Sidon’s stomach while he floated above the deep waters of the East reservoir.
Each step after the other felt forced and almost not your own as your legs began their usual path from the bridge up to the reservoir dam where the bed you had been given resided. Hoping to find your lover sprawled out there waiting for you or swimming within the waters you were sorely disappointed when he appeared to not even be there. Nor had anything changed in the area since you left. The bed was perfectly made from when you last left it. None of the bottles or dishes on the sides had been moved or opened. Even a thin layer of dust had begun to form, strange given the room was open air. Giving into the fact that your royal lover wasn’t there, you lay on the bed after removing your shield, armor, and weapons from their places amongst your body. Pulling the covers over yourself and closing your eyes a deep, well-deserved slumber was yours at last.
As you slept, Sidon was up at Vah Ruta watching over the lands of Hyrule as its red beam was aimed at Calamity Ganon. He had been none the wiser that you returned, your paths hadn’t collided given you could only take the roads home while he could swim all the way to the divine beast if he wished. The sun was directly overhead, noon, when Sidon decided he should head back, missing the comfort of the pools and the joyous laughter of young Zora running about. Climbing down the mountain Sidon wondered if you were back from your trip with Link yet. He only said that you would be gone a week at most, so he counted down the seven days that you were set to be gone. That’s the reason he came all the way up to Ruta, to see if he would be able to find you along the path and walk back to the domain hand in hand.
Once he reached the banks, he began swimming up the rivers, small falls, and finally one of the larger ones leading straight up into the central area of the domain. Asking around if anyone had seen you, the guard stationed at the entrance said you came through and said hello before heading up to the dam. He could’ve settled with a mere nod and would be sent running, but the fact that they told him where you were made him spring faster than he had ever run before. There was no direct path with water to your room, so the bridge and staircase leading up was the only option. Racing up the stairs, nearly falling off around the bends, he makes it to the top and finishes his sprint as he makes it to the bed.
He almost couldn’t help but pick you up and start swinging you around in his arms, but he knew you needed rest and a lot of it. Trips like these with Link always took it out of you and he knew it. Very gently he picked you up in his arms, removing your outer layer of clothes to leave you in a pair of boxers, he headed towards the reservoir. Thank the Goddess you were a deep sleeper, he had no intentions of waking you as he was getting into the lake. Making his way into the water, he turned onto his back with you on his stomach, almost curled up on his abdomen he smiled. He always loved these moments, the world was calm for the two of you, nothing else mattered, it was just you two in a lake with nothing to bother you.
It was nearly dark when you woke up, gently lifting your head, the surroundings set in rather quickly. You were no longer in the bed you fell asleep in, instead, you laid on your lover's chest, in the middle of the reservoir, at dusk.
“Good morning my darling,” he said in a quiet but excited tone, he could only hold back so much joy that you were awake.
“Good morning, well, it’s evening isn’t it” you giggled lightly at the end of your statement, happy to be where you were.
“I’m happy you’re back” Sidon spoke calmly, bringing a hand up to cup your cheek.
“I’m happy to be back, and in the one place I favor most of all, with you” Pushing back into his palm you smiled, locking eyes with the prince.
“What shall we do now that you’re awake? We could keep floating out here, go lay in your bed, watch the night sky, explore the mountains, what do you wish to do?” Sidon rattled off the first things he could think of for you both to do now that you were revitalized after your long journey.
“I think I have a better plan my prince, let’s get back to land first” There was a glint in your eyes as you said it, he couldn’t figure out what you meant by it but agreed nonetheless and started using his feet to kick you both back to the dam.
Standing on solid ground you stretch your limbs out, a few creaks here, a crack there, and a happy sigh leaves your lips. Coming up behind you Sidon wraps his arms around your shoulders, bringing you closer to him.
“So what did you have in mind my dear?” He whispered, the moment was peaceful and he dared not break it.
“How about we spend some quality time together, on my bed, for a few hours, and possibly have some fun while we’re at it?” There was that glint in your eyes, once again he couldn’t quite figure it out, but with the way your tone relayed its sultry message, he came to understand very quickly.
“I think that’s a lovely idea, but I do have a question,” you hummed, urging him to continue, “who’s going to be on top?”
“I’ve been gone far too long, and I want to please you my prince, allow me to do so.” Turning around to face him you started running a hand up his chest, leaving it near his pecs as he thought over his response.
“Then be my guest” Sidon replied huskily as he unwrapped his arms from you and headed towards your bed. Once in your small room, the boxers you had left yourself in were thrown to the side, next to everything you stripped off before your slumber. Sidon laid himself back on the bed, it was just big enough to where he could stretch his legs out and they had a couple inches before the end of the mattress. Spreading his legs apart with a hand on either of his knees, you scoot between them.
“How rough do you want me to be?” A normal question you would ask before sex, always wanting to make sure you weren’t too rough on the Zora.
“As rough as you please,” the look he gave you said more than his words did, needing no further response you continued to move closer to his crotch. Beginning to push onto his sheath, two tips began to poke their way through. A groan leaves Sidon’s mouth as you continue to prod at his sheath, he’s not all too used to having someone else do it for him. Finally able to see half of his cocks, you begin to lightly tug on them as well, encouraging them to fully come out. With a little more pressure and jerking of the lengths, they are fully erect and out of their sheath. Sidon locked eyes as you began to kiss the tip of each cock, a small whimper escapes him when the kisses become sloppier and precum starts to leak from his slits. Now you have deep-throated one of his lengths before, and while you’ve tried both, it’s never been possible for you. That was going to change today. Taking one into your mouth, you start the usual routine.
Sucking on one while your hand slowly pumps the other, after about a minute or two, you switch dicks, using your saliva as a lube of sorts to make it easier to jack him off.
“Oh my Goddess, (y/n) please keep going, you feel so good.” All Sidon could do was beg you to keep going and moan out with how good you made him feel. Pulling off his cock, you began to jerk both lightly, then you pushed both tips to your lips. Sidon let out a gasp as you took the first few inches of both cocks into your mouth. “Please don’t hurt yourself dEAR-“ his words were cut off with a moan as you shoved another few inches into your mouth. His lengths were equal in size, but they were not small in any capacity, both were long and thick, so 5-6 inches deep into both you could feel the tears beginning to streak down your face.
Once you got comfortable with that bit in your mouth you started bobbing your head, pushing a little bit further each time you went down. Eventually, you managed to get both cocks to the back of your throat, feeling the tips smack into your throat was a shock, a painfully pleasant one. Sidon put a hand on your head as he tried to steady himself with how much pleasure he was receiving from you. Moans and grunts were all he could produce at this point, too overwhelmed to form words let alone a sentence. Slowly speeding up once you felt his hand grip
your (h/l) (h/c) locks, the moans he let out became louder and higher pitched, he was coming close to his peak, and that only spurred you on further.
Thankful for the distance you had from the domain now more than ever as his volume somehow only increased. His hand never actually pushed you down further or faster than you went, he knew you were providing more than enough pleasure for him that he dared not intervene. A few more bobs of your head and he came, shooting stream after stream of thick cum down your throat. A lovely thing about Zora, their sperm glows in the dark, a beautiful thing to see especially when it’s nighttime. As you pulled off his cocks, a small bit of his cum dribbled out of the corner of your mouth. Swallowing whatever was in your mouth still, you made eye contact, heaving right after and moving forward to kiss Sidon.
“Every time I taste you, you only get better my prince.” Your words made him moan into the kiss, only able to speak between the searing lip lock you were caught in. As you moved a hand to his face, the other was busy at his ass, finding his hole rather quickly before using some of his own cum as lube. Pushing a finger in he moaned into the kiss once more, before you pulled away to scoot back on the bed. Making yourself level with his hole you began to stick your tongue inside of it, licking and opening him gently with the wet muscle before coming back in with a finger and then two. Scissoring those gently before getting rougher and rougher in your motions, a third finger is added as the process repeats once more.
“How do you feel Sidon, how do I make you feel?” Asking for his praise he moans and manages to get a few words out.
“Amazing! No one else could ever make me feel the way you make me feel!” Finally getting what you want, you remove your fingers, pleased with how stretched he is. Using some of your own spit left on your hand, you lube up your cock before aligning it with his hole. Slowly pushing the tip in he grabs at the sheets, trying to go slowly even with the urge to shove your whole length into him. Inch by inch you work your dick into his tight hole, reaching your pelvis you stop and let him rest with your dick fully inside. Sidon taps your thigh giving you a “go ahead” before you start moving slowly. Pulling out to the tip you push back in slowly, once you set this slow steady pace Sidon takes a couple of minutes to get used to it before begging you to speed up.
“Please (y/n), go faster please, we both know I can take it.” His words just urge you to pull out and slam back in. A shrill moan is ripped from his lips as you start a brutal pace into him. He was right about one thing, he could take whatever you gave him. Continuing the pace you grab his thighs, attempting to just push them up so his legs are bent. You continue with his legs like that for a good while before you decide you want to be deeper into your lover. Grabbing the back of his thighs you push them to lay on his chest, the new angle allows you to shove yourself all the way into his hole.
“BY THE GODDESS YES!” Sidon screams at the top of his lungs, his prostate well abused by now as your tip continues to jackhammer away at it. At some point, he grabs his legs by himself and holds them to his chest to allow you to use your arms for whatever you please. A hand went to his throat while the other went to his cocks, lightly squeezing his throat and jacking him off at the same time. It took very little time with all this stimulation to cum for the second time that night, the luminescent liquid splattering his chest, yours as well, your hands, and some even made it to his face.
“Look at you all covered in your own cum, how beautiful it is to see you glowing from it.” A chuckle followed your statement as you continued your brutal pace into his asshole. Letting go of his cocks to let them rest after orgasm, your other hand went to support you by holding onto his thigh. It only took another dozen thrusts or so before you were pouring your cum into his ass, filling him up with more than just your dick. Pulling out you let yourself catch your breath as Sidon stared up at you, blissed out and the happiest he’s ever been. “How about one more hm?” He perked up at your words, confused by what you meant. Then it all clicked when he saw you pulling his thighs down and straddling his waist.
“Wait (y/n) I just came and so did you, shouldn’t we wait a minute?” He hurriedly spoke, trying to figure out your rush in movement.
“But the best pleasure comes from that.” The words you spoke were full of lust, and nothing but it as you started to slowly grab and jerk off his cocks. Rising up above them, you aligned both with your own hole, slowly pushing down. Now you were not stretched nearly as much as he was for your cock, so the process of sinking down took much longer. Managing to get both tips in, you sit there for a moment, letting you both adjust to the feeling, then half an inch further, a rest, half an inch, rest, an inch, rest. This continued until you were sitting on both cocks, both deep inside your ass, brushing your prostate just by sitting there. Slowly you pulled your hips up, pulling out until his cocks were halfway out of you, then falling back down onto them. Doing this again and again you tried to set a pace for yourself on his massive lengths.
Finally getting a steady pace you pull out until nothing but his tips are inside you, then slam back down. You both moan louder than ever and then you do it again, lift up, slam down. Continuing over and over again, until you are simply fucking yourself dumb on his cocks. You knew his orgasm was approaching quickly when he started to grasp at your thighs and thrust up slightly when you came down. With his help thrusting up, you started to feel that oh-so-familiar knot bundling up in your stomach. Keeping up the pace you set, it took not more than 10 minutes before you both came in sync. Your cum shot onto his chest and face while he shot into your ass, filling you so much that it began to leak out around his cocks.
You sat there for a good while, not wanting to move from the rather comfortable position. After roughly 15 minutes you slowly pulled his softened cocks out of you, cum dripped out of your stretched hole and he was covered in it. Moving to lay beside him, you collapsed once you weren’t directly over him, shimmying closer to his larger frame for warmth.
“Was that enough pleasure for you my prince?” You ask quietly, not able to raise your voice with how sore your throat is.
“That was more than pleasure my dear, that was ecstacy and nirvana.” He gazed down at you as he spoke each word was quieter than the last. Sleep was slowly becoming a need for both of you, but not wishing to sleep covered in layers of cum you stood up and walked to the lake.
“Are you going to come wash yourself or are you going to lay there covered in cum?” Turning around to face Sidon, he moved his head up to look at you, not even thinking twice before standing up very slowly and carefully, having orgasmed three times he was shaky. Grabbing your hand, you both stepped into the lake and started to wash yourselves. Moving closer to the Zora you started helping him wash off some of the sweat and semen from his chest and face. Once you were both clean, you’d stepped out of the lake and walked back to the bed. Sidon’s cocks had gone back into their sheath by now, but you just grabbed your boxers you haphazardly discarded earlier and slipped them on.
Sidon removed the cum and sweat-covered sheets on the bed before grabbing a fresh set for you both to sleep on. Laying down he opened his arms, awaiting you to climb into bed with him to sleep. Falling into his arms, you snuggled ever closer to his chest before closing your eyes.
“Goodnight my prince, I love you.”
“I love you as well my dear, sleep well.”

Fandom: The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time Pairing: Link/Sheik Words: 1610 This oneshot was written for @zelinkcommunity's Loftwing Letters 2024 and is a gift for midnightbunnyy on AO3. Please enjoy!
Looking back, the first hint that something was amiss should have been how easy Link found it to trust Sheik.
His secretive new ally kept his face entirely covered, save for a bright red eye that was almost smiling, if not the gravity of the words he spoke. When evil rules all, an awakening voice from the Sacred Realm will call…
Sheik’s voice, stern yet calm, gave Link the feeling that not only was saving Hyrule possible, it was their destiny. So it did not bother him that this stranger seemed to know exactly how to defeat the evil Ganondorf and find Princess Zelda, nor did it bother him that Sheik’s idea of goodbye was throwing down a deku nut and disappearing in the haze left behind. The first time it happened Link could only smile at the spectacle.
How like him, he thought.
Beyond providing Link with some philosophical musings, Sheik was a man of few words. Still, he was welcome company. The Hyrule to which Link had awoken had changed almost beyond recognition; crushed under the heel of its new King, the land was scoured and the people were scarce. The times that Sheik appeared to teach Link a new song on his ocarina were the only chance he actually had to speak to anyone.
“Are you feeling better today?” he asked after they had met in the raging underbelly of Death Mountain to play a bolero of fire.
“Pardon?”
“A few days ago at the Forest Temple, when you taught me the minuet. You had a cold.”
“No I didn’t.”
“You were sneezing.”
“Sneezing? I…” Sheik paused, as understanding crossed what little of his face Link could see. “I remember now. Yes, I am better. Thank you Link.”
“Well, that’s good to hear—“
Snap! Down came the deku nut and Sheik was gone.
It wasn’t exactly a conversation, but it was a start. Link next found Sheik deep in the icy caverns of Zora’s Domain — frozen thanks to Ganondorf’s meddling — but his hopes of further discussion were quickly dashed.
Sheik’s usual poise was gone. He sat on a large block of ice, slumped and clutching his golden harp to his chest. He explained that Zora’s Domain was lost, except for its princess who had gone in search of the Water Temple to destroy the monster within. He drew his harp forth, preparing with some melancholy to teach Link another song.
“Time passes, people move,” he sighed. “Like a river’s flow, it never ends, does it? A childish mind will turn to noble ambition. Y-young—“
“Young love will become deep affection,” Link murmured. “The clear water reflects growth.”
“How did you know what I was going to say?” Sheik’s red eye met his, cold as the ice of the caverns.
“I just did. I…” Link searched for the right words. “We know each other, don’t we? I mean other than meeting like this.”
Sheik withdrew, reaching yet again for a deku nut to flee with. Link surged forward, grabbing his shoulder. “Wait, answer me!”
“No. Not now. Find the Princess, Link,” Sheik instructed, pulling away. “I need time to think.”
Reluctantly, Link agreed, and allowed Sheik to teach him the song; a serenade so sweet it made him want to cry. This time, Sheik departed not with a flash but a bow.
“I’ll see you again,” he said.
To Link, it seemed like an apology.
---
Once the beast within the Water Temple was vanquished, and yet another friend had ascended as a Sage, Sheik met Link on the shores of Lake Hylia. The clear waters sparkled under the high sun as they sat together on the bank, eating a fish that Link had caught and roasted over a fire.
In order to eat, Sheik had dropped the cowl covering his face, unveiling it for the first time. He was younger than Link had imagined, with unblemished skin and a smattering of fine whiskers on his jaw. But most surprising was the way Sheik smiled when he talked.
“A fine carp, a good catch,” he said lightly.
“Compliments to the chef?” Link asked. At this Sheik just rolled his eyes.
“Anyway, I do not know why you feel we have met before,” he said as he picked over a few fish bones. “Perhaps in a past life, we fought a great evil together. That sort of thing leaves a mark on the soul. Trust me.”
“I do trust you."
Sheik looked at him for a long moment, and then laughed. The sound of it caught Link off-guard; it had a melodic lilt, like his harp.
“Don’t let your fiancé hear you say that,” Sheik said. I don’t have a fiancé Link was about to say, when Sheik leaned across and kissed his cheek, running a gentle hand through his hair at the same time.
“Thank you for this respite, Hero,” he whispered. Then, before Link could even think how to respond, Sheik was dousing the fire and the afternoon was over.
---
With no clear next destination, Link travelled in a daze from Lake Hylia to Kakariko Village, hoping to hire a room at the inn and stare at the ceiling until he understood his twin feelings of joy and confusion. Except he could do no such thing, because when he arrived the inn was on fire, along with the rest of the town.
In the midst of it all, as townsfolk scrambled for safety, Sheik stood tall and at the ready by the entrance to the town’s well.
“Get back,” he called to Link. At that moment the well cover blew clean off, and all hell (or something much worse) broke loose.
A terrible shadow swarmed overhead. It swooped, angling directly for Sheik and knocked him to the ground. Link’s legs had a mind of their own, positioning him between the shadow and Sheik. He raised his shield, but the force of its blow was so great it sucked the air from his lungs. Just as his consciousness faded he was… standing again. By the well.
“Get back, Link!” Sheik said. The well exploded. The shadow roared. This time it went straight for him, burrowing into his heart, and he felt himself fall and hit— the bricks, as the shadow slammed him into a nearby building. The shadow struck again, throwing Link backward and— into the well itself, falling and falling with no way to—
“Get back, Link, please!” Sheik cried.
What was happening? Why was he stuck at the well, at this one moment, being hit again and again and being told to—
“Get back!” Sheik shouted, angry now.
Again the shadow burst forth, knocking Link down harder than all times before. Pain welled in his chest. Then, above him, he saw Sheik take the ocarina from his bag and begin to play. In his last moments of awareness, Link realised he knew the melody: it was a lullaby, once beloved by the Princess of Hyrule.
---
Looking back, all that had come before now made sense, but Link needed time to be sure. He had braved the Shadow Temple and conquered the Spirit Temple before he was ready to confront Sheik.
They met once again in the Temple of Time, where it had all begun. Sheik explained to him the legends of the Triforce, saying that Ganondorf had caused it to split into three when he stole it from the Sacred Realm. All this only strengthened Link’s resolve.
“You hold the final piece,” Link said. “You are the seventh sage.”
“I—“ Sheik blinked at him. “Yes. How did you know?”
Link took a deep breath. “From the moment we met, you seemed familiar. Then I began to remember things you had forgotten, and finish your sentences.” He took the Ocarina of Time from his bag and held it between them. “Then you used this to save my life in Kakariko Village. You turned back time, more than once. There’s only one person in Hyrule who could do that.”
Sheik’s eyes welled with tears. He bowed his head.
“Zelda,” Link said, kind as he could. “I’m not angry. It is Zelda, right?”
Sheik had bowed, but it was the Princess who raised her head. “Yes, it is. You don’t know how happy it makes me to say that.”
Link handed the ocarina to her. “How many times did you use it?”
With a shrug, “I lost count after fifty.”
Fifty? “I died that many times?!”
“I don’t know what to tell you,” Zelda said, laughing. “You’re as brave as you are reckless.” Then her face fell. “This is the furthest we’ve ever made it. Each time you fall, I have to send us back to the moment you arrive in the future. At this point, I don’t even know if defeating Ganondorf is possible.”
She unravelled her long braid, shaking out her golden hair with a sigh. Her eyes seemed a little softer now, the red shade fading to green. This was who she had wanted to be all this time, Link thought.
“I’m sorry I can’t remember it all,” Link said, realising unhappily that Zelda likely could. “When I face Ganondorf, I’ll make it count.”
Zelda placed a hand on his cheek and smiled a soft, sad smile. “I know you will.”
She knelt down to kiss his cheek, but Link turned his head and caught her lips with his own; a short, whisper of a kiss, one hopeful of more to follow once peace had returned.
“I’ll see you again?” Zelda asked.
“I’ll see you again,” Link affirmed.
This time around, whether or not this was the last time around, it was nothing short of a vow.

“Will You Marry Me?” - Sidon x reader
“I have no idea how to word this and I’m so sorry if it’s a bad request but randomly I just thought of Sidon and hylian reader being friends when they were younger and Sidon asking her to marry him or something (the zora way), and she just responds with “if you can ask me that same question in a hundred years, I’ll marry you” and then they meet up again a hundred years later cause we started traveling with link and now they are sitting in the same spot and Sidon asks the same question😭 I know this is really bad but like” - anon
oh. mY. GOD! THE FEELS!! the friendship. the passing of time. everything. everything about this request is great. trust me, you did the lord’s work here by sending this in :’)
i had this all written out, and wanted to wait to post this one tomorrow. however, i’m feeling emotional tonight, and i felt posting it was needed.
i hope you enjoy (because this one is probably one of my favorites) <333
y/n - your name
“When we’re old enough, will you marry me?”
you were just kids
play pretending around the Bank of Wishes
but he wasn’t playing at the moment
he was serious about his statement
“Sidon… Zora’s age a little differently than Hylians…”
“I know…”
you sighed
“If you can ask me that again in a hundred years, I will.”
Sidon laughed
he knew your answer would have been different if Hylian’s and Zora’s aged the same
however, he also knew that you were both too young to get married regardless
time passed
things changed
but your friendship never faded
never
but then
you were put into stasis
Purah and Impa thought it was best, since you were technically helping Link on his quest to save Hyrule
you wake up in a foggy haze
hardly remembering anything
‘Where am I?’
as you venture along though, your memories start to return
even before you remember Sidon and Zora’s Domain, you’re heading that way
because your body just… leads you
it remembers the things you don’t
and here you are
standing in the domain’s center
hoping that someone could lead you in the right direction
lead you to remembering why you’re here
and there’s Sidon
Vah Ruta had already been taken care of
and he was running his daily errands
when he sees you, he drops EVERYTHING in his arms
he runs to you
wrapping his arms so tightly around your body
as if you’d been missing for a century
to him, though, you had been
“Y/n!”
he’s holding you so tightly
tears streaming down his cheeks and into your hair
you’re still trying to remember
but his touch feels so familiar to you
the Zoras in the area are starting
but Sidon doesn’t care
“I’m so happy you’re safe.”
it takes some time to re-familiarize yourself with the domain
and Sidon is more than happy to help you regain your memories
he’s so understanding
and patient
oH HYLIA this man is patient
he tells you stories of your past
and stories of after you’d left
he makes everything seem so crystal clear
and once you fully regain a sense of self
and once your memories have returned
you remember what he said all those years ago
but you don’t say anything
because you know he couldn’t possibly remember something so small and silly
but still
you find yourselves sat at the Bank of Wishes
wading your feet in the water
your head laying against Sidon’s arm
and he smiles at you
“You know I love you, right?”
and you smile with a light, cheerful laugh
“I do.”
and he’s silent for a moment
he stares out into the water, thinking
“Do you remember what I asked the last time we were here? I’m sure it’s a bit fuzzy, but I wan—”
“I remember, Sidon.”
and his focus shifts to you
his eyes are wide
and he looks as if he’s seen a ghost
“I remember it well, actually. I remember the lotus flowers being in full bloom, just like they are now; how clear the sky was; how… how young we were…”
he’s silent still
“I remember.”
“Good.”
your focus on the water now
you’re half expecting him to make a joke about how young and naive the both of you were
but
he doesn’t
“My feelings for you haven’t faded, you know…”
and you simply nod, still staring at the waves in the river
he caresses your face
“Y/n…”
you turn to face him
and his eyes gleaming from the sunlight’s reflection on the water
he stares at you for just a moment before placing his lips on yours
he’s soft
he’s warm
inviting
he pulls away slowly, his hand still placed on your cheek
“Is your answer still the same?”
you don’t speak
he knows your answer
but he still wants to ask
“Y/n, will you marry me?”

For the ask game, what about an age of calamity timeline totk au?
(Like where there isn’t over a hundred years between the start of the calamity and rauru’s seal running out of magic. Just a few years maximum in between instead)
For example: Like does link just show up in Zora domain after being missing, with a ghost’s arm and a majority of his life force (or whatever heart containers are) drained? or what if a Zora patrol finds unconscious (again with a weird arm) along a river bank, presumably having fallen into it during the chaos of the upheaval? Or maybe Zelda and link trade places?
There are so many directions you can take it!
I’d love to hear your thoughts!
This is such an interesting idea!
I think in this AU I wouldn't send Zelda back to the past, but maybe the champions.
Maybe Link and Mipha have gotten properly engaged and courting is nearly finished (or they're married?) and so when the champions fall down that hole he is DEVESTATED. As much (and probably more) than he was with Zelda.
Now, why doesn't revali fly them out? Maybe he got bonked by a rock or something
Link's arm gets messed up, and Zelda is fully submerged in malice. The goddess in her blood stops her from being harmed, but it has steeped deep into her soul. They both wake up on the sky island, link with his raurru arm and zelda with some strange new abilities...
After searching for the champions, they come across some memories (which you play through as the champions) and realise they're in the past! So they do the plot stuff and go to the temples, where they find them in their respective temples, locked in time.
Rauru tells them they are sealed there as a sacrifice to keep ganon imprisoned, in temples raised high above the sky so none of his monsters can find them. When they go to Mipha's temple, Link snaps, and accidentally breaks the seal.
Mipha falls out of stasis, aging 10,000 years in less than a minute, and the sky turns blood red as the seal weakens. Rauru temporarily takes control of Link's arm and restores the seal. Mipha goes back to how she was before, the sky turns blue again and zelda is really pissed off with him. He knew he wasn't supposed to open the seal because rauru had told him with the other champions. The angrier zelda gets throughout the game the more the malice in her affects her personality, and she starts to look a little.....monstery
They fight Ganon, and instead of eating a secret stone he enlists the now completely malice possessed zelda to use her powers against Link, meaning he has to fight ganon and zelda at the same time, with Yunobo, Riju, Sidon and Teba (I'm sorry tulin is TOO YOUNG AND I LIKE TEBA) at his back. From far above Hyrule the champions do some magic sagey stuff, weakening ganon, and zelda breaks out of his curse, turning the malice powers against it and draining the malice from ganondorf's body and using it as a weapon for her and link. Ganon, in an attempt to survive swallows his secret stone and link and zeoda are flung into the air, the light dragon (which is revealed to be Sonia in a memory) helps them finish him off and the temples holding the champions fall, crashing into hyrule (and probably killing a lot of peoplehshdhletsignorethat) and so do zelda and link, holding each other as they crash into the water and miraculously not being vaporised :)
After this, they go to the temples and there is a lovely miphlink reunion and a big cuddle. And the epilogue is their marriage ceremony!!!! Obviously!!!!

Astorvember day 5 - Village
I'm gonna use this as an excuse to post my headcanons about some of the settlement ruins in botw/aoc. Also here's the results of last year's poll
West Nabi Village: West Nabi Lake, my beloved, a small settlement on the north bank of the Squabble River in the plains east of Dueling Peaks. There's not even a village ruins marker on the map for this one, but there is a small line of houses with a series of jumps between them. There's also a stone talus nearby that's called the West Nabi Lake stone talus. My headcanon is that this is a small village that raised horses. My oc Vala from Long Road To Ruin grew up in West Nabi Village, and it will be the setting for a fic I'm currently working on. Much like other settlements close to towers like the citadel in Akkala it was subject to repeated monster attacks.
Deya Village and Goponga Village: There is more canon information on these villages but I want to include them anyway because I see people asking how they flooded all the time. Deya Village is settled in the highlands across the river from West Nabi Village. The Squabble and Hylia Rivers flow into Lake Hylia, which is very deep and surrounded by tall hills and so more than able to absorb standard floods. It is also my headcanon that Lake Hylia flows into Cora Lake and the Menoat River and eventually into the Faron Sea, albeit very slowly, but that's why that particular lake and river are so deep. Goponga Village is in the wetlands downriver from the Lanayru Great Spring, and wetlands are great at absorbing water. Unfortunately when Ganon took control of the Divine Beasts it caused Vah Ruta to flood Lanayru, which flooded the wetlands and the rivers south of them far past their usual capacity, impacting both villages. The floodwaters did not drain from Deya Village so it was not able to be rebuilt. Goponga Village fared better but re-flooded frequently, never reaching its previous equilibrium. When Vah Ruta reactivated around the time Link woke up in Breath of the Wild the Zora knew exactly the kind of impact it could have and feared that it would spread even farther since no one really knew why Vah Ruta eventually stopped producing rain, and before Link showed up there was little hope that it would stop on its own again.
Central Hyrule: All of the settlements in Hyrule Field form a metropolitan area around Castle Town. The Windvane Exchange handled matters of trade, Gatepost Town processed traffic traveling east and west through south Central Hyrule as well as to Castle Town and the Great Plateau. The Kolomo Garrison, Outpost, and East Post were villages serving the royal army outside of the knights and royal guard, who lived within Castle Town and the castle itself. Mabe Village formed around Mabe Ranch, which supplied food to the castle. The unnamed ruins east of the Great Plateau housed people who worked on the Great Plateau, which was a spiritual center hosting the Temple of Time and an abbey. Central Hyrule had other such abbeys, like the Sage Temple. All differed in their beliefs but most of them served the Goddess.
Ridgeland: The main village here is the Maritta Exchange, which processed trade largely from Rito Village, Tabantha, and Ridgeland itself. In Long Road To Ruin Astor was born and raised in one of the small homesteads that dotted the plains northeast of the Exchange and the stable. There wasn't enough traffic that way to justify a true village, but a few families settled there anyway. Fun fact, the exact house he lived in is the one at the far north end of Tanagar Canyon, just above the Forgotten Temple and the one that has Gloom in its well in Tears of the Kingdom.
Tabantha Village: This village formed around the eventually inactivated Sheikah tower during the Calamity 10,000 years before Age of Calamity. When the Sheikah tech was ordered hidden they were left only with the legacy of having been of great importance during the last Calamity. It remained a large village due to being the only other large village in Tabantha and Hebra besides Rito Village. There was more infrastructure in Hebra before the Calamity, allowing people to traverse the mountains and reach the hot springs, but when Tabantha Village fell following heavy attack by monsters and Rito Village was occupied with Vah Medoh maintenance fell by the wayside, leaving travel through Hebra very difficult.
Gerudo Desert: The entire desert was once full of settlements, but like Hebra they all fell into ruins after the Calamity. West Gerudo Village once stood in the shadow of the highlands where temperatures were a bit more stable, and wooden stalls and tents sprawled around the walls of Gerudo Town. This is where husbands would live since they weren't allowed inside Gerudo Town, where they could also enjoy ceremonies and events at the structure north of the town and sand seal races to the south. Infrastructure and frequent travel also made it easier to visit the Southern Oasis and Arbiter's Grounds, which had long since fallen into disuse. More on that in Long Road To Ruin. With Vah Naboris out of control and making passage into the desert very dangerous most visitors fled the desert and the Gerudo moved entirely within the town, leaving newlywed vai to live with their husbands outside the desert until their daughters were old enough to live within the town for several years.
Bonus: You know that set of ruins on the hill west-southwest of Outskirt Stable? I'm working on a completely different fic about a group of magicians who live in a massive, old manor house up there.
If I missed any that y'all want to hear my thoughts on, let me know!
#astorvember#astor age of calamity#breath of the wild#age of calamity#things I spend all my time thinking about: old houses in video games#also let me know if I fucking got you ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)#also also if I should run the poll again just for funsies

The Convergence & Magic w/ Princess Zelda
Zelda: "You haven't heard of the Convergence? Ah, well, documenting Hyrule's past has been...difficult to say the least. We're fortune to live in a time where we have access to a good deal of our history, no small part to due to the events of the Convergence and the allies of Hyrule from that period.
"To put it simply, the Convergence was a cosmological event roughly a thousand years ago that occurred in response to the Divergence in eras past. This event remerged the split in time that the Divergence created, reinforced by a Wish made by the Hero and the Princess of that era to heal time. In the process, three timelines worth of magic were pushed into our singular one. Which has created a good deal of influx for magic.
"In the past, only a handful of people had regular access to magic: the Royal Family, Sages, and the like. However, since the Convergence, the appearance of Sages have almost vanished in the traditional sense. Instead, we've seen influx of mages, or more common magic users. There are still individuals suspected to be Sages, of course, but arcanely inclined lineages have also seen an increase in ability. It's why where previously individuals from my family tree who would only have access to divine magics now have had the opportunity to study the elemental schools of magic as well.
"It also means that there is more access to magic than ever before. Previously, most people could only use magic through divinely crafted relics, like those left behind for the Heroes. Now, research has allowed for mages to create their own enchanted items. Nothing on caliber of the creations of the Goddesses, but still a considerable step forward to the understanding of arcanum."
Marela: "I like the enchanted bags we invented the most, those are incredibly useful."
Zelda: "There are certainly a few creations I'm partial to myself. And our beginning research into teleportation has been incredibly fruitful. (L: "Beginning?") Much like with the Goddesses though, most people share a magical affinity that will determine the school of magic they're most easily able to work with. But that's of course a topic for another time."
Marela: "But it means there are all kinds of magic users now! Witches, priestesses, mages, not to mention the cultural practices that have developed. I hear the Gerudo have a practice for igniting their blades with the elements, that sounds awfully exciting. And of course, the Zora had been able to expand the tradition of armor crafting to include real magical enchantments, not just symbolic gestures."
Zelda: "It's allowed for several international advancements as well. Access to magic as allowed for the postal system and for banks to operate on scales never before possible, between nations. Not to mention the more local achievements made possible by using magic as an energy source, like the invention of the most recent model of pictobox."
Marela: "I've seen those, they can make the picture right there, you don't have to take them to the shops anymore to develop."
Zelda: "But on the matter of the Convergence and so much of modern advancement, we owe significant thanks to the documentation by the Dreeka. Their libraries have cataloged so much of our history, across the timelines, allowing all of this to be possible."
Marela: "I've heard they even have a full account of the Convergence, written by the Princess of the era. And that the translation took over a decade to complete."
Zelda: "I've read a part of it, it recently was returned for revision to the Dreeka enclave here in Hyrule. Perhaps that could be more elucidating for you on the particulars of the past."

"The Zora Domain was once again saved from tragedy by your heroic Swordsman and our beloved King Sidon… I wonder what you might have said seeing your brother and him fighting side by side. While most unproductive, I cannot help that my mind often strays to what could've been, Lady Mipha."
Yona's words swell with bittersweet wonder as she wistfully sighs and peers at the Champion's memorial. Yona's speckled amber eyes searched the tranquil statue's face. What for? She didn't even honestly know herself. Perhaps a sense of relief, or Yona wanted a sign that their demure Champion was watching her brother thrive. What would Yona's childhood hero have said to their union? So many questions that would stay unanswered, the foreign Zora concluded. Her mind wandered to her dear husband, the stars to her night sky.
Despite his unending enthusiasm and carefree air, the Queen knew her husband well to know there was so much more lurking underneath his energetic and hopeful personality. From the outside, it seemed even fear allured him. If only they knew it was the very opposite. Sidon was and still is profoundly affected by his sister's tragic passing, more to say, the fear it caused. Who would blame him for his fear? One hundred years were a blink of an eye for the Zora. Yet time did not heal all. The emptiness in everyone's hearts still aches, just not as much anymore. Everyone can say her name and recount their memory of Mipha with a smile, but her presence would still be longed for.
Finally, Sidon resumed his monthly visits to Mipha's Court, something he hadn't done in a while, even prior to his fight with Ganon. It may be silly for some to speak with a figurine. But this simple action always made Zora fondly smile, recalling days when Mipha would always listen with kind words and a warm aura as she always did before her death.
At the Champion's memorial, Yona recalls an instant from their shared childhood when heavy rains poured down a river they played next to. The torrential downpour rose above the bank, capturing the tiny crimson-screaming prince down the waterway. The foreign Zora was the first to swim after him, willing her smaller verdant fins to move her faster. Her heart was pounding in her chest as she reached her fellow royal. The current lashed the young children, but undeterred, Yona carried him into a small cape. A moment of peace after a hurricane of freight, the water continued to thunder behind them. The tiny child tried to calm the quivering Sidon in her arms while attempting to mend a wounded foot of her own. Then, as all hope seemed lost, frenzied cries welcomed the duo as a frazzled Mipha and royal guards caught up quickly. Mipha soothed their cries, touching their cheeks and promptly healing any injuries.
"My Queen, it's well past the early evening hours. We wouldn't want the subjects, least of all His Majesty, to worry about your disappearance." Webbed footsteps lightly tread behind the Queen as Khira stirs the royal to the present, her voice woven in respectful concern for Yona. Her attendants always stayed close to each other and their Lady out of duty and fondness for each other's company.
Even if Chroma's youthful airheadedness got on the latter's nerves, it was still a comfort brought to the Domain.
Their homeland was nearly unattainable to those who couldn't breathe and tread water as swiftly as the aquatic race. In contrast, Zora's Domain flourished to the elements. While New Bay seldom had hazardous weather. Their home had air pocket caverns filled with seashell shops nestled deep into the sea's safe tides and swaying colors, hidden from the land and its residence—a true secret treasure amongst the merpeople.
"Yes, yes. Of course, I wouldn't wish for Sidon to worry. My apologies to you both. It is late, Chroma, Khira. You did not have to accompany me to the Court. No monsters have dared step foot after that Sludge Like." Yona turns, smiling at her loyal, protective attendants. Her golden headpiece jewelry gingerly clinks as she steps down the stairs; verdant hands glide down the polished handrails. The Caregiver knew full well her guards knew their way around the weapons and their water magic, but still, she felt bad for her friends staying with her so long. Yona was no stranger to marksmanship or training herself in purifying wounds and tainted water.
"Please don't worry about it, Lady Yona! We like looking after you; you're our friend, plus his Majesty asked- Ow!" The youngest Zora cheerfully bubbles, and the older guard swiftly jabs her. The new Queen tilts her head, sighing to herself. Even now, Sidon's still quite protective, isn't he? But still, a loving gesture all the same that makes her heart flutter and cheeks warm.
"Hush you! Do you not know when to flap your lips and when not to? On that note as well, how many times must I lecture you? It is Queen Yona, no longer 'Lady.' Have you no respect or idea of the importance of these titles? My goodness, do my words fall on deaf ears?" Exasperated, Khira shakes her head while glaring at her fellow attendant. The trio starts their short journey home as Yona's muffled laughter spills from her lips, watching her dear friend's antics. The young women stare down the waterfall leading down Lulu Lake.
"Please, be nice. Any more of your reprimands, and I'll go deaf." Squeaks the distraught retainer, dark gray eyes pleading to their Queen for help as they descend through the waters.
Even from an immense height, the radiant city's glow softens the carved-out cliffs, and the bright ore deposits dot the wet landscape, becoming a beacon of beauty and splendor. The sun's wonderous warmth far retreated past the Domain's reach, a touch of cold breezes caressing Yona's skin. Coming to the halfway mark, the Caregiver answers her friend's silent pleas. Standing before the marbled platform, the Zora Queen shifts her attention to her bickering friend.
"Khira, come now, I believe that's enough, we wouldn't wish any harm, and it is only the three of us. You can indeed allow one moment of reprieve. I need not worry about titles, my precious friends." Yona coaxes her friend's long-winded lectures, seeing the elder Zora sigh in defeat and allowing this rare moment of informality, much like the old times. Marching down, Khira and Chroma flank their Queen's side, scanning every direction for any monster or Yiga sneak attack. The clansmen weren't interested in the Zora royal line, but being cautious with the newly crowned royalty never hurt.
Their serenity shatters as a high-pitched undignified whine carries through, cutting into the air as they swim down the final waterfall. The young guards perk up and quickly unsheath their weapons, pushing their Queen further near the falls, providing a swift escape. "Your Majesty, Chroma, stay here. I'll go investigate." A hushed command tumbles from the dark dolphin Zora's lips, eyes narrowing and head tucked down for intimidation.
The royal guard crawls out of the pool, spotting a cluster of thick foliage suitable for an ambush. Rushing to the forest green bushes, Khira ducks down to spy on the ruckus while Chroma guards Yona with her spear, guiding her safely away from the unseen danger. The new ruler braces herself, summoning water to snake around her sharp claws.
"I can't believe Sidon's married already! Come on. He's hitched to some random Zora girl we've never heard of? It doesn't sound like a union from love, y'know? And that, too, he doesn't talk much about her. I don't know; it sounds so fishy. That wasn't supposed to be a pun, by the way." A brown-haired Hylian woman clad in some strange mushroom hat walks into sight, and it seems she isn't alone. The woman's other companions stroll by, a pair of other Hylians complain, and another person in glasses fiddles with their leather satchel.
This group seems relatively young while they remain unabashed, glad to blabber, Khira thinks. Anger wells up in her as the group's voices had no intention of stopping with their ill-meaning talk. She knows that Yona could hear this noise. How could she not? Even a Bokoblin would understand their mad rambles.
"Well, I mean, Khole, we don't know much about Zora's politics, so I don't know if it may be an arranged loveless wedding," The glasses wearing sheepishly, state as they twiddle with short brown hair looking back at their friends. It seems this group was returning from visiting the East Reservoir.
"Amia, you're talking as if we know about our own. After all, our Princess had up and disappeared. Only Hylia knows where she is. Of course, she's nice, but if she were our Princess, she would try to reinstate the crown rather than twiddle around in Hateno. We've been in shambles for a hundred years, and only now are we starting to come back. If my great-grandparents could see how this panned out, they'd give Zelda a big lesson about responsibility. I know they lived on the outskirts of Castle Town. They saw she didn't put her all into protecting us from the Calamity." Another crude voice cuts into the cloud of gossip, and the tallest of the group groans. This one must be Khloe, according to them.
"Khloe, that's not nice. She does some things like building the school. I appreciate that, and even the fact she's somehow alive makes the older and more devout folks more invigorated." The shortest man answers the group, trying to reel in their chat, eyes darting around the wandering travelers.
"I like that she made the school too, but that's all our Princess does; twiddle around, now poof! She's gone along with her silent little knight throwing everyone in all corners of Hyrule for a loop," The mushroom-wearing Khole snorts, not taking the hint and wrapping her arm around the small man.
"Besides, there's only so much teaching can do if they don't know how to fight; you're dead. But I don't even know if this royal has done anything substantial to this, 'Zora Queen.' She appeared out of nowhere too, and I heard the women who had their little fan club are still reeling." Yona has had enough of this slander, slashing into the dancing streams around her hands, instantly dropping into the tide. The young Queen knew their last statement wasn’t true in the slightest, reminiscing the many moments the club members loudly fawned over her and the coupling.
The Zora, as she evades Chroma's eased guard, at brazen conversation in their Domain where these Hylians should be more mindful. These ignorant speculations about their Princess; they didn't see how Zelda collapsed to her knees, too choked on her grief to properly beg forgiveness from former King Dorephan and the royal line. When she emerged from the ruins of Hyrule Castle alongside Link, they didn't see the solemn strength and wisdom that welled behind those teary eyes, renewing her vow of protecting everyone no matter the cost.
But what pained her more was that, deep down, their prodding at the royal coupling hit a sore spot in her heart. The optimistic prince and herself had no say in their engagement. Of course, they had visited each other's kingdoms as young teens. Her heart never wavered in her affections for him and his people, but she often wondered what he felt when King Dorephan told him. The royals scarcely had time to talk and be with each other in private, away from others, along with helping the ill-stricken Zora from the sludge, repairing the Domain and Sidon becoming the Water Sage, and finally helping Link defeat Ganon.
Years after the Calamity and its sting aftermath, they grew dearly fond of each other. He changed, his glowing with unending enthusiasm and the occasional naivete all genuine. But he seemed to hide his deeper emotions from the public, even with his dear father. Either for fear that it would make him seem inexperienced or because he wished to truly earn the crown, Sidon's grown used to hiding his whole heart even now. Yona hoped she'd prove herself to him and eventually be blessed to reach those parts of his soul, knowing he was safe with her.
They've had many conversations about their situation and the future after Link helped Sidon slay the beast that floats in the sky. But old habits formed from grief and feeling inadequate die hard. The King still hides from the outside, so much so that he loathes to admit it. After the kingdom's announcement, she doubted if he truly loved her the same way as she did him as the century passed and their visits grew prevalent. Throughout their youth, they eventually graced each other with the title of a beloved friend.
Did his heart worry for her out of genuine care or for appearances or necessity? Did he yearn to have her beside him as his bride, Queen, and equal because he loved her? Would there be a day that Sidon would smile and proudly show his love to the world like Mei and Fronk?
Yona understood betrothal gifts were essential to the Hyrulean Zora culture, but she wasn't taught that way. Only learning how to mend the armor from other fish scales, her people learned a sacred courtship dance to show their interest. Yona summons her rapid heartbeat to the clearing out of the pooling water, allowing them to see her. Chroma whispers for Yona to stay but emerges from the pool trailing her Lady.
"Enough of your useless babble," The zealous guard seethes, lunging at the group from the overgrown shrubs. Jumping out of their skin, the rowdy quartet leap into each other's arms. They shudder like leaves, eyes firmly screwing closed, far too absorbed in their well-being.
The Zora spear inches away from the supposed root of all this meaningless noise, "You have shown an inexplicable disrespect and regard for both your Princess and our Queen. Your prattle proves nothing among you and your ilk. Your eyes will never see the true nature of these critical figures, and perhaps that is not your desire," Khira grits her sharpened teeth, even the air around them stilled in anticipation.
The grip on her spear tightens with every passing breath as the group hesitantly opens their eyes. The spear aimed at the frightened woman pulls back, and the guard's posture loosens, showing a reluctant sign of mercy and growling while pulling her weapon back. "But I will allow you this grace as well as one warning. You will not sully any of the royal's names here—especially Queen Yona. One would think that Princess Zelda's diplomatic nature would pass for all her subjects. Consider yourselves lucky. I want to avoid pushing more work on their Majesties, so relieving the burden of taking your tongues is out of the realm of possibility."
"Khira! Enough! Stand down." Yona calls out to her fearless attendant; in her mind, she notes how uncharacteristically aggressive the Zora woman is and how strange it is to see her threaten visitors. The Hylians take shaky steps back, looking at the emerging figure. Startled gasps erupt as the attendant glances over her shoulder. Faltering in her angered resolve, seeing the smaller Zora's displeased face. Lifting the sharp spear away, the Caregiver walks in front so the visitors can see her, bowing her head to the cluster of people as they stay silent. The royal could feel their pensive eyes staring into her as if trying to figure her out by tearing her apart.
"I sincerely apologize for my attendant; this is the first time I've seen her act out in such an unsightly manner. This will not go unreprimanded, while this flagrant threat does not deserve quick forgiveness. Please do not think lowly of us. I seem to have pushed my guard to the brink of exhaustion, so much so that one believes violence would be the answer if I can do anything to appease you. You need only ask, and I will do it. But know that I am Queen Yona." The Queen steadies her breath as she lifts her head, jewelry gently clinking. Scanning their faces, Yona watches the group hastily cover their jabber. However, their words have done their damage making Yona feel miserable but still overwhelmingly riddled with uncertainty.
"O-oh, no, no, no, we're sorry. Uh, you don't need to do that. It was immature of us to talk like that. Sorry, you heard that, but you seem nice, but we're just going to go."
The group leader nervously chirps up as she eyes the serious Khira. Another ally of Khloe's speaks up, nodding and clinging to each other's arms. "Thanks for not hurting us. Bye." Making their escape, crossing the connecting bride to the city. Yona's forlorn eyes linger on their retreating forms.
"What was that? That wasn't an apology at all! And Khira, what in the world got into you." Chroma scoffs as she perches her weapon on her back, eyes frantically scanning her two friend's faces trying to understand them. The younger guard pouts to herself and quietly mutters, "And you always get after me for not bringing shame to the Zora name..."
Despite the rowdy crowd's departure, the young women felt the air thick with tension. Meekness gnaws at Khira as she ducks her head down, too ashamed of her reckless actions and making Yona speak for her. She would indeed badger the younger guard, but to think she would act so brutishly was beyond hypocritical.
"I am profoundly ashamed that you had to see that, your Majesty. But saying I feel guilty for silencing their larks would be a lie. I will not tolerate such belligerence towards you and things they don’t wish to comprehend." The Zora grits her teeth, spitting out a response, rising to look at her liege's back. The young woman partially turns, sapphire flecks eyes glance at her taller lady-in-waiting, Yona dutifully declares.
"Allowing emotions to cloud and open the way to conflict isn't like you, and I understand your reasoning. I find myself appreciating the wild gesture, but I will not tolerate any of your outbursts. Lest you want to stay in my service, being the head of state, is to preserve the peace to all that come and go from Zora's Domain, even to those without respect. We must rise above and show kindness," Light Green's side fins sway as she shakes her head. Yona's hand waved for Chroma and Khira to follow suit. She swallows the biting taste in her mouth, cupping her hands before her chest. She absentmindedly picked at her claws; the sound of clicks enveloped the girls as they fell in line, resuming their protective flank. Exchanging worried looks between each other.
"This should go without saying, but please don't tell Sidon. He's been busy, returning from his valiant battle alongside the other sages protecting the land and handling a kingdom. Something so small should not plague his mind. I'm certain I will forget this soon enough." Yona sharply inhales as she tries to lift her spirits, but her words drip despondence. Her heart twists in painful knots, knowing she's going back on her promise of being truthful and open to her love.
"We won't breathe a word." The duo candidly answer as they make their way across the pristine bridge. While a robust familiar figure happily waves in the distance, welcoming them blissfully unaware of what occurred.
The sinking feeling did, indeed, not disappear from Yona's mind. Their words echo in her head, and the festering sense of inadequacy and insecurity lurks in the corners of her mind. It had been a few days since her encounter, and she knew allowing such heated words to get to her was folly. Yona couldn't help her mind slipping into the depths of her doubt. Even to the point, her melancholic air alarmed the elderly councilmen and Exalted Dorephan. The new Queen lacked her signature sweet nature, replacing her charming aura with an absent mind.
While busy creating safe pathways and removing the debris strewn along the narrowing passage from the mainland to their Domain. Sidon grew worried for his Yona. It's been hard not to notice his citizens concerning whispers about her well-being circled the Domain, and his dearest barely stayed by his side after she visited Mipha Court. She seemed off-put and fidgety whenever he was near her. Even the little ones seemed fretful with Yona's unusual behavior, and her attendants acted peculiar, seemingly hiding something.
The warm afternoon sun beams down on Zora's Domain, an occasional breeze passing through his magnificent home. It's almost ironic that the weather contrasts the new King's worrisome thoughts.
"Naydra's eyes, What am I missing?" Sidon mutters, standing before the pristine balcony overseeing the Domain. His sharp eyes longingly linger on Zora's soft green form, watching her speaking with the fisherman, Mei. He was beyond glad the forgetful citizen returned from the Floating Fish Island. Admittedly busy, ensuring his best soldiers to Lookout Landing returned, Sidon remains steadfast in giving his people protection and grace as those before him. He was dutiful in looking after his people's well-being.
So many things happened in a whirlwind of events; first, it was the Upheaval, then the vile sludge desecrating his home, and finally, his unexpected coronation and marriage to his beloved, then assisting Link in his fight against Ganon. The royal Zora ponders if it was as overwhelming to her as it was for him. The young King certainly has no regrets, but the stress of it all tends to invade his mind even when the epic battle has ended.
Rambunctious giggles erupt from below, stirring him from his daze. His sharp eyes flicker between Mei waving to the young King and his darling Queen, now turned up to see him. A magnetic force pulled their eyes to meet, and he could feel his heart stop, breath hitch in his throat when a ghost of a bashful smile graced Yona's lips. Her golden adornments shine, accentuating her beautiful features. His cheeks flushed against his cold skin, and a heart-stopping smile painted his face. It could be only them in the world.
The moment broke too soon for his liking as Yona shyly averted her gaze. It looked like the floor was more enticing to her now; soft laughter rolled from him, uncaring of the whispered swoons and muttering about young love. Unable to tear his gaze away from Yona as the giggling fisherman bows and parts from the royal Zora. Nodding to something Mei told her, the young woman walks the stairs. Sidon's eyes follow her each step, and soon she stands by his side, making the void of her absence the past few weeks far more prominent than before.
"May we speak in private?" Yona's soft, tantalizing voice asks, her eyes peering up at him with sorrow and meekness clouding her usually cheerful aura. Sidon observes her expression, questioning what caused her heart such sadness.
Nodding to her request, he pauses, thinking of places for a private conversation. He knew the open grandeur of the Domain wasn't much for a solitary chat, so they had to travel somewhere close in case a danger arose but far enough so no curious ear listened. Coming to a solution, the crimson Zora answers, nodding to his Yona. "Of course, I'll have the guards notify my father if they need us."
The couple stroll beside each other to young Zora guarding the stairs to the Throne room. "If anything arises from my absence, find Queen Yona and I atop the Veiled Falls. Please tell the Exalt, thank you." Sidon instructs, giving them a polite smile and watching the faithful sentries obediently comply. In the corner of his peripheral vision, he hears the young woman's gasp. Yona’s eyes widen slightly at his chosen place.
"Now, shall we depart, Yona?" Sidon looks to his side. She doesn't meet his gaze but nods all the same. 'Still absorbed in her thoughts. I wish to know what's plaguing you so, my love.' The perplexed Zora thinks to himself, making their short journey to the Falls.
The two sit on the edge of the Veiled Falls. Sidon surveys the landscape before them, the glistening architecture proudly towering as his head turns. An overwhelming sense of pride and wonder swirls in him, overlooking his gorgeous home. The loud water tirelessly tumbles down the Falls, creating white noise and protecting them from potential eyes and ears, allowing them to speak as they please. The extroverted man feels the atmosphere melt away into a reflective air. His sweet empathic nature shines through, but so does a familiar nervousness, worrying he may say something unintentionally unkind. It's truly a marvel how Yona's mere presence reduced him to his shyer, composed side like they were still children.
"I know that I have been busy and thus haven't been with you by becoming crowned king, but it doesn't allow me to negate my husbandry duties… Now love, what plagues you so?" He tenderly questions his wife, seeing her steady her breath, and comes to terms with whatever tortured her.
"My King," Yona starts to wonder aloud, trying to gather the scramble of words in her mind. Her hands are cupping each other in her lap tense, and her shoulders tighten. While Sidon's brow furrows, she never addressed him formally like that before, not even when they were little ones. "I find myself wondering, has our union been too hasty? Am I truly the one you want besides you? Surely someone far more courageous would be a better match." Concern coupled with mere shock overtook him. His eyes widened, looking at her words. He desperately wants to cut her off and ask her, but he holds his tongue, wanting her to feel safe with him. 'Where in the world did this come from?'
"Those days ago, my attendants and I came across a group of people that brought up the validity of our union. I know it's foolish to listen, and in hindsight, it’s minuscule compared to the intrepid battle you returned from only months ago, but I want to be truthful about it." The woman explains. Yona stops turning to look at him. Vulnerability is etched on her face as he patiently waits for her sign to speak.
"If this has made you worry for this long, it’s no small deal. So that's what you've been dwelling on. Do you doubt my feelings?" He politely utters out, the sick tightening in his chest as he waits in anticipation of her answer. Yona says nothing, in silent agreement. She scolds herself for hurting him so much as he rises from his spot, holding his crimson hand for her. The young woman reaches for him as they stand together.
"You recall the importance of this place, yes? This was the last time I saw my sister alive. Days after, we came to mourn after being informed about my sister being trapped in Ruta. I ran to this place to drown in my tears, where no one could hear me. My desperate attempts to swim upstream, this mighty Fall, fell flat. Then miraculously, you came. You found me in the pool,"
"Crying together in each other's arms, I remember. I asked where you were, and I found you here trying to hide." Sidon's large hands engulf Yona's as she jumps in. The young woman knowing this story well, caressing her thumbs around his palms.
"Yes. At that moment, I saw someone I could call a friend. I discovered someone who could see all of me without fearing judgment. Someone that looked at the depths of my sadness and allowed me to grieve unashamed. Someone that I could share my accomplishments with. We were arranged to marry, but I was elated when my father informed me. I could not imagine anyone else by my side. You've continued to be a beloved companion. I fell in love with your compassionate, intelligent, selfless nature. Your ability to know what's troubled me among countless others made me want to return the favor tenfold," Sidon tenderly divulged, finally noticing Yona meet his eye.
The pure warm adoration in his remarks left the doubtful royal speechless. Strings of wispy white clouds pass overhead, shading the two. "I want to continue growing alongside you as the years pass. I want you to know that I will always love you. You, Yona, Are the only one I want to have on my side. I love you with all my heart." Sidon slips his hand away and brushes underneath her side fins, cupping her cheek and stroking her face as if trying to dispel all her worries from her mind. The smaller Zora nuzzles into his calloused hard-working hand, feeling at peace now unyielding to keep her gaze away from his steady eyes.
"I-I should not have allowed a stranger's words to cause such dismay. I'm sorry for doubting your devotion," She pauses, golden eyes fluttering closed, smooshing her cheek into his hand, angry at herself for significantly impacting how she acted towards him and those in the Domain.
"Will you forgive me?" Shame and relief wash over her, watching Sidon nod at her inquiry. His arm snakes around her waist while tugging her close to his chest. She hears the rapid pounding of his heart, feeling tears threaten to spill from her eyes. Willing them away momentarily, she peels from his broad chest, tugging at the gleaming silver prince his chest piece down.
Standing on her tippy toes, Yona wraps her arms around him, leaning into him while Sidon's finned arms securely encase her body in his. They share a sweet moment, their eyes slowly shut, and their lips collide in a kiss. Sparks fly across the two as Sidon deepens the kiss leaning toward her soft lips, wishing to melt into her touch. Quicken groans and gasps escape their lips, and hot puffs of air roll onto their mouths as they kiss again. It felt like gravity pulled them together again, as if it was torture to stay apart for even the air.
Savoring the taste of salt on their tongues, their lungs burn, taunting them to breathe momentarily. Begrudgingly, Yona pulled away. First, labored rasps heave from her petite frame, now noticing that Sidon lifted her from the ground pressing her close to his chest and sitting in his arms. The loud drumming of their hearts pounds in their ears as they silently look at each other. The noisy waterfall downs out their unsteady breaths as they slowly feel a smile perk on their warm faces.
"That wasn't an answer, my love." Mischievously scolding her loyal husband, Yona laughs to herself as he feigns cluelessness. She doesn't want to let go, reveling in his arms and in the love he gave her. "It wasn't? Well, I might need more time to convince you then." Sidon releases a husky chuckle, his voice a tinge of playfulness and desire, his eyes crinkling as his charming smile shines down at Yona, bringing her close again to steal another kiss.

The Spark of an Eternal Flame (a story about how Sulane and Luvan met and fell in love!)
It was a cold November morning in the city-state of Naitula; the sea next to the city only made it colder. It was a holiday; most people slept in, but for one woman, sleeping in wasn't an option.
Sulane was 111 years old—about 19 years old in Hylian terms—and she was a warrior. She was a member of the Naitulan Marines, one of the best fighters in the entire city. The marines never got days off, so she had to go to work. At least she got paid well compared to others.
“Okay, let's get started,” Vites—Crown Prince of Naitula and Leader of the Marines—said. “There have been reports of monsters on the South Bank of the Opal River, near the mouth of the river. One of them was reported to be a Silver Lynel. Does anyone want to offer to hunt this Lynel?”
Sulane raised her hand, bandages covering fresh scars bending over her chest.
“Are you… sure, Suten?” Vites asked, unknowing of Sulane's chosen name. “You're injured. You fought off a two-hundred man army last week and got a giant wound across your chest. If I was allowed to, I would dismiss you until you heal. You need rest.”
“No,” Sulane responded, “I can go and find it. You can count on me.”
“Okay, okay. You can, on one condition. You will be on paid medical leave afterwards. No ifs ands or buts. You can't fight like this.”
“Yes, sir.”
Sulane grabbed her sword and a compass and went out to hunt this Lynel.
It was a rather short walk, all things considered. It was only about 643 meters to the river, but the cold and her injuries made it tougher to get there. It was 7° celcius; it was November after all.
She eventually got to the riverbank and went to look for this Lynel. Several hours later, it was 10:00 o'clock, and there was no sign of this Lynel. Sulane was tired at this point, the sand looked pretty comfortable, and there was no sight of this Lynel. Since she saw no harm in it, she decided to fall asleep on the grass. She'd been up since 6:00 o'clock; she needed the rest.
“Hey, are you okay?” A voice said, stirring Sulane from her slumber.
“What…? Yes? Who in Hylia's name are you?” A dazy Sulane said, rubbing her eyes.
“I'm Luvan, the Prince's… ‘brother’. Who are you?”
“Oh… I am very sorry for worrying you, my liege. My name is… Suten. I just… needed rest.”
“You didn't seem very confident about your name, Suten.”
“You didn't seem very confident about being the Prince’s brother.”
“You've caught me! I'm non-binary, not a guy.”
“Oh? Heh, I'm trans. I go by Sulane.”
“Sulane? That's… a very beautiful name. Don't say what—”
“Thanks, I chose it myself!”
“Oh fucking course!”
“You put yourself in this situation, Luvan!”
“That's fair, I very much did lead myself into that.”
“Yeah, you did.”
“Say, do you need help? Your bandage around your chest seems a bit… stained.”
“Oh, I'd like that, thanks.”
Sulane walked with Luvan to the Palace in Naitula, where Luvan helped give her more bandages and gave her a hand to hold whenever she was taking the particularly unpleasant antibiotics she had to take. Have you ever had to put antibiotics on a wound? Those can sting like nobody's business.
This happened every day for about two weeks; Sulane going to Luvan for help with bandages (because reaching behind your back to tie something can be tough), Luvan holding her hand so that she wouldn't punt anyone or anything because of the wound stinging, and the two just talking.
One day, however, Sulane needed to confess the feelings she acquired for Luvan. It wasn't immediate, but sometime over those two weeks she developed feelings for the royal. Sulane also needed to practice her sword skills. Why not spar with Luvan and confess afterwards?
Sulane eventually found Luvan in a meadow outside of Naitula and smiled at the other Zora, “Luvan! Would you like to spar with me?”
“Oh! Sure, I wouldn't mind. Just please don't flatten me into a pancake.”
“Of course I wouldn't! You're my friend, and my superior. I wouldn't intentionally hurt you!”
“I know! Let's just get to sparring!”
The two grabbed their swords, and they began sparring. Luvan fought gracefully, their movements resembling a dancer in a ballet; sassy spins, dodges, and flips galore! Sulane fought more tactically on the other hand. She evaded Luvan’s attacks, looked for weak points during their impressive moves, and never once took her eyes off the other Zora.
Sulane eventually knocked Luvan down and disarmed them during a spin. Sulane almost immediately checked to make sure they were okay, and then hugged them?
“Why are you hugging me, Sulane?” Luvan asked.
“It's because I have something to tell you.”
“Oh? What is it?”
“I… I love you. I love you, Luvan. I don't know how, but you're the first person I've loved since I was in middle school.”
“You love me? Oh, Sulane…” Luvan tightly hugged Sulane back. “I love you, too. You're just so damn sweet! My parents won't allow us to be together, though…”
“Who said they need to know?”
“That's a fair point.”

Vah Ruta's Anger. Sidon x Fem!Reader Comfort Fic.
Summary: Totally didnt just make a comfort fic about storms cuz my area was hit by a bad thunderstorm with tons of lightning everywhere that totally didn't make me think about Zora Domain after Vah Ruta reactivated and I imagine that maybe there was a Hylian who happened to be visiting at the time and got paralyzed with fear from it and maybe a certain fish prince just i dunno comforts them ahahahah
Word count >1000
The loud booming cry of the Divine Beast shook the domain to it’s core. The storm stirred slowly before lighting began to strike at the trees surrounding the domain.
The Zora people quickly took shelter. Bazz gasped and hurried the Hylian woman into the domain, making sure she was alright before training his eyes on the dam.
“Stay indoors,” he ordered the people within the shop. “Wait until further instruction as I get an assessment of the situation.”
With that, the guard left. “Are we going to die?” Finley asked her mother, stirring unease within the people.
“I doubt that,” The Hylian said, smiling to the girl. “I mean, c’mon. Have you seen the Zora guards? And the prince?” The small Zora’s eyes began to sparkle with excitement. “The guards are heroes, friend. They’ll keep you safe.”
Finley beamed and nodded then pouted. “But…my beloved.”
At the Hylian’s blink, her mother sighed. “An old legend. Actually, would you like to hear it?” She nodded to the Hylian’s shaking hands. “It might distract you.”
“I’d like that,” She confessed.
Though stories brought comfort as they waited, the Hylian’s body flinched at every rumble of thunder, making it acutely obvious she was terrified, but her face remained a smile, as if comforting the nearby Zora children she sat with as the mother told her and everyone who’d listen the legend of the Bank of Wishes.
The guard soon returned and assured everyone the storm was not reaching the domain, only the forests surrounding. Caution was to be taken but it was warranted given the circumstance. He then approached the Hylian.
“I’m sorry. Because of how dangerous it is, it might be best if you stay here until the storm has passed,” He amended.
“That’s alright. Thank you. If there’s anything I can do to pull my weight around here, please let me know,” She sighed, flinching again at a particularly loud lightning strike.
As the night wore on, she found herself hiding away from the eyes of the Zora people in the storage rooms. Her body shook as she cupped her ears, trying to muffle the loud sounds.
She tried to shoo away the fears, belittling herself for such a childish fear. Even the elder Zora spat at her behavior. She knew…She knew and yet, here she was, hiding in the storage room like a child.
“In here?” A voice muttered from outside. She vaguely swore she heard little Finley’s voice in response before the door opened. “Thank you. I’ll take care of it.”
“Do you really think there’s a ghost in there?” The girl muttered as the larger Zora ducked into the room, looking around before locking onto the Hylian.
He could only stare at her, her face stained with tears as she kept curled up tight, hands covering her ears. She was unaware of his presence.
Finely poked her head in and blinked. “Your highness,” She whispered to Sidon as he glanced at her. “That’s Y/N, the merchant.”
He nodded and put his finger to his lips and gently gestured for her to leave. She nodded, closing the door gently before hurrying off. She couldn’t wait to tell her mother how she was the one who ensured the prince’s new bride.
Sidon smiled as he sat down in front of her, gently patting her knee. He chuckled at the Hylian’s quick jerk away from him, pressing herself even further into the wall. He held his hands up. “You’re alright. I’m here because Finley thought she heard a ghost in here. Happy to see that’s not the case.”
Y/N gulped thickly. “U-Uhm…”
Sidon nodded and looked to the window up high, listening to the thunder. “It’s scary when Vah Ruta summons storms like this. It still terrifies me.”
“Y-You?” she mumbled.
He nodded. “ The day of the Calamity, my sister was slain inside the beast. The malevolent forces that controlled it summoned a huge storm that raged for days. I was still about the age of Finley when that happened–”
“I’m sorry,” She said quickly, trying to wipe away her face. “I didn’t mean t-to burden you more.”
“Burden?” He asked in surprise. “Why is your fear a burden?”
“It’s not fair to you.”
Sidon weighed these words before smiling and moving closer. “Come here,” he said gently, holding out his arms. She stared at him in surprise. “I didn’t say that for pity. I said it because I’m scared too. The last time this happened, I lost someone. Our fears are two sides of the same coin.” He gestured for her to come closer.
Hesitantly, the Hylian moved closer before he scooped her up, holding her close. “There. Now we can hold onto each other until we’re okay again.”
She blushed at the contact, yelping when another huge bolt struck outside and hid in his neck. Her body trembled as she clung to him. “I…I’ve always been scared of them. It got e-easier when I grew up b-but…”
He smiled. “But the bigger storms just affect you differently?” she nodded into him, making him smile as he rubbed her back. “I understand. You needn’t worry though. I won’t judge you. From what I hear, you did well at keeping a calm demeanor.”
“This is why Hylians are vile things,” A voice echoed in her mind, making her whimper.
“Though, I heard about the elders through the children. Bazz even reported what they’d said. I did scold them.”
“You didn’t need to,” She mumbled. “I’m…old enough. I should be over this childish fear.”
“It’s childish to be fearful of nature?” He challenged, making her flinch. Sidon smiled gently. “Will staying in my room with me help you? Staying with you helps me.”
It was then that Y/N finally took in the trembling of his hands. It was just barely noticeable. She only realized it when he’d tucked her hair behind her ear and felt his claw twitch ever so slightly against her skin.
“Y-Yeah,” she gulped. “I’d…like that.”
“Then it’s settled. When you’re ready, you’ll come to my room where we can hold each other.” Her face went bright red, making him blink. “What?”
“If my mother heard that, she’d be screaming,” She chuckled lightly. “She wouldn’t stop teasing us about how I managed to end up in a prince’s bed.”
He barked a laugh at that, making her smile softly as she clung to him. Together, they waited for the trembling to subside.

October Books
1. The Sound of Waves by Yukio Mishima
9/10. I have a small hole in my heart that is Japanese literature shaped, and the fact that it took me this long (and a requirement for a class) to read this was a crime. I enjoyed it quite a bit, especially with how happy of an ending it was. I really needed that pick me up after September.
2. Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston
4/10. I wanted to love this and by no means did I hate it, I just dislike the class I had to read this for. Also, because of other people in that class not participating, we were getting quizzes each class on the book, which turned reading it into studying it which just wasn't great. It was still well written and I quite enjoyed the usage of language and how the dialog was written.
3. No Longer Human (Manga) by Junji Ito
9.5/10. No Longer Human is genuinely one of my favorite novels to date, so when I first heard of the manga version I knew I had to read it and I was by no means disappointed. Ito's art style is perfect for this novel and I love the changes that Ito made to the story (Takeichi's suidide, meeting Dazai in the mental hospital, and the ending in general). I also especially loved how at the very beginning we see Dazai and Sachi sitting on the river bank and then at the very end we see the newspaper on Yoichi's kite detailing his death. It was tragic, but it also felt like closure. I'm not sure how problematic it is to say, but I do, unfortunately, relate to Yozo due to multiple things he has said (particularly about the clown like persona, and the feeling of not being human, though that's for another time). I don't want to keep going on, but know that I definitely can.
4. Goodbye, Eri by Tatsuki Fujimoto
8/10. Loved the art and the story, especially how it's only learned near the end how Yuta's mother was actually rather abusive/harsh with him. Honestly, the ending did confuse me a bit with Eri being a vampire (I'm not sure if this is a hallucination or real?) but the explosion at the end made me oddly happy.
5. Chainsaw Man volume 13
7/10. Loved the 'Goodbye, Eri' reference after Mitaka became the war devil. Other than that, amazing art as usual. Angel, Kobeni, and Cosmo/Halloween Devil, I still miss you.
6. Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Sáenz
?/10. I definitely didn't. . . hate it. . . but I'm not sure if I liked it. I'm conflicted. Yeah. Ari and Dante's getting together was cute though. . . okay next book.

i love fucking around in games then saying “it's what the devs intended” like,,,no, the devs for botw probably didn't intend for the players to get to zoras domain using nothing but the ice rune, and no the devs of persona 5 probably didn't bank on us using Jack Frost and only jack frost, but honestly?
it is what it is, right?
The developers intended us to play the games but they never said HOW we were to play them
#the rainbow twinks#rainbow ramblings#touya + hunter#also we have actually beaten persona 5 royal using jack frost and nobody else. was fun#hee-ho and all that

Concept: botw Link really liked water, from spending time in Zora’s Domain as a child.
But now, he cannot stand fully submerging himself, because it reminds him of being submerged in the shrine of resurrection.
Thanks for responding that's such a cool idea! Plus you encouraged me to look back on some of my old posts and write this. :)
~~~
Waterlogged
The wooden ladle turned practiced circles around the cast iron pot, occasionally scraping the bottom as it swirled and stirred a delicious amber broth until every ingredient sang together. Although appetizing, as any soup could be prepared by his hands, it would be amiss for Wild to proclaim its shallow murkiness to the perfectly clear lake before him. The vista of small waterfalls churning out endless replenishing streams, did little to taint the crystal like body of water they fed into.
Although, it’s transparency was too quickly muddied as a chorus of flailing arms drummed up sediment and sand from the lakebed to gather around frantic bobbing heads. Wind was showing them a pirate game, using an inflatable ball that of course Legend just so happened to have stashed somewhere in his bottomless stash of junk. What started as a curious new way to pass the time soon morphed into a two-teamed mess of a sport, if one could call it that. Tetra’s crew would have been impressed with the amount of rule breaking.
Even the prissy Captain and stick-up-his-ass Rancher joined in. Surprisingly they were the two dirtiest cheats, childishly bending the rules to give his team an advantage only to feign innocence when the other caught him out on it.
‘Looks fun’, Wild mused, watching the sailor mediate another ‘out of bounds’ argument between Sky and Four. Smiles adorning their faces.
Time looked on from a shady patch near the bank, arms crossed and two-handed blade ‘at the ready’ under the guise of keeping watch. But they knew better.
He too, seeing Wild frequently take pause from his soup to watch the game, knew better than to wrongly assume he didn’t want to join in. However, when he got up and walked over to him the champion shook his head before he could say a word.
“Go on.” The old man slightly tilted his head in their direction, quietly disarming Wild of his ladle. “You deserve a break.”
He wasn’t given an option to get it back. Unwilling to leave yet and not knowing what to do with his hands he awkwardly folded them, letting his feet shuffle on the spot as his eyes wandered back to the others. “That looks pretty tiring to me.”
Time started stirring the soup, copying Wild’s technique near perfectly. “It’s little more than floating. Besides, someone needs to add some civility to that game.”
Wild smirked, sucking in air through his teeth in a mock gasp. “You’re asking me?”
“You seem quite eager to join them.”
“No.” A sigh. “Just...it looks kinda familiar, I guess, maybe.”
The steady rhythm of Time’s stirring faulted and the man trained his eyes on that of Wild’s, waiting for that distinctive spaced out look. “Everything alright...?
It didn’t come. “Yeah yeah, fine,” Wild affirmed. A pause, his body still for the briefest moment. Then, a final glance at the sparkling water sent unfolded arms to tug off his tunic. “You know what? They need another player so they have even teams.” Catching Time’s smile he threw off the rest of his layers, swaths of mismatched blues and tans were cast into the air as his guided him towards the bank, leaving a pile of mess behind him.
The water was much cooler than anticipated, sending fleeting trails of ice up through his veins with every step forward, each smaller than the last. Cold lingered within his chest, settling like frost, his breathing turned shallower and shallower as his body was further encased in the deepening pool. Until...he was rather unceremoniously submerged.
Wild’s entrance was welcomed by a score of cheers and light splashes that his bobbing head almost flinched away from, just barely, feet eventually lifting off the waterbed.
Adept limbs flowed with well practiced fluidity, the movement helping warm them. He didn’t need to hear the rules, whether that was because he’d been paying attention while spectating or deep down it was too similar to a game he played as a child, he couldn’t tell.
Wind bounced the ball towards him, it flew up and hid in the sun’s blinding light before coming back down as an inflated octo balloon. By reflex Wild’s muscles tensed and his arm jerked to attention, batting it away to have it land into the scaly arms of a Zora. He couldn’t put a name to the blurry face when they were abruptly shoved under the water by another, then another, then another.
Rarely, memories came and went in small bursts like this. Never any less welcome but easier to ride out, for his mind allowed the body to move and allowed him to almost act out the memory as it happened. He remembered this game and it was stupid, a dumb excuse to goof off with the Zora guards- these figures looked vaguely like them.
Their mock battle for the balloon continued, coloured fins churning up the water in the scramble, and a smile split Wild’s cheeks though confusion stained his expression. Choking up a laugh his hand waved away at nothing, as if it would make the vision fade.
However it did, quite suddenly in fact, when a scaly mass was thrown against his side, another faceless Zora crashed into him. Suddenly forced underwater, the volley of hues were lost into a growing murky night sky filled with dots of light breaking through plumes of granite dust stirred up from below. Falling further still, those strange stars grew bigger, bleeding together until he saw blue again in circular lights. Familiar circular lights.
Suddenly, more blue, darker in hue and crueler in the way hands them held him down. Dense fluid squeezed in from very direction onto every, pressing down with the weight of a kingdom. His limbs became rigid. Paralysed. He was floating yet he felt so trapped, eyes wide as they stared helplessly towards the lights.
They stared back, waiting for him above the surface.
Desperate, a cry escapes past quivering lips and what’s left of his breath escapes with it in a cluster of bubbles. A burst of sound through the dissonance of swishing muffled ambience shutting him away in this dark basin again. Now the watery coffin that staged his brush with death.
His mind slips and the light fades...
...dimmer
...dimmer
...dimmer
...how long until he wakes up?
~~~
Thanks for reading!
Masterlist
Trying to convey Wild’s love-hate relationship with water was hard and it got a little too abstract at the end but I’m fairly happy with it. Thank you for the ask anon! :))
p.s. I realised too late that instead of a ball game in a lake they should have been surfing at the beach. Then I could have called the fic ‘Waterboarding’, get it? Cuz he’d be water boarding and then get waterboarded. I know waterboarding drowns the person with a soaked cloth, but he’s drowning so...it kinda works right? Still, messed up tho.
