Cutie Honey Magical Stage was a 2003 stage play that ran from July 25th to August 3rd at the Bandai Museum. Not much is known about the play itself, as it was never recorded for a home video release. The images I've included here are from Heroine Kikiippatsu!! Vol. 006. Additional images and information can be found here.

Judging by the photos, it wasn't as big of a production as the Cutie Honey Emotion plays that came out years later. Still, the costumes are very charming and I wish I could learn more about it!

Eriko Sato made at least one guest appearance, probably to promote the upcoming 2004 live action film.

Amusingly, it looks like Hystler was played by none other than Kazuki Yao. I wonder what the reasoning behind that casting was? It's a shame there aren't more photos of him in his costume!

The latest addition to my collection! I had this same doll as a kid. She always held a special place in my heart because she was my first "pretty face" Sailor Moon doll. My mom even bought me the goofy toy pizza cart to go with her. I held on to my original doll for years but ended up giving her away when I moved out.

I've been on the hunt for another one for awhile but she always goes for a fortune. Luckily I picked her up for a decent price last week. Isn't she so pretty? I especially love the box design!

This doll was originally released in Hong Kong and there is a fair amount of English written all over the box. I can't help but laugh at the little bio on the back.

The new Blu-ray set is out. Not only did they not restore episode 24's original tile but they also omitted the first version of the opening. I'm actually very surprised...

Dororon Enma-kun is getting a Blu-ray release! All 25 will be remastered in HD. Extras include a booklet as well as a TV spot for the last episode. Pre-orders through the Toei Video Online Shop come with a special slipcover illustrated by Kazuhiro Ochi. Release date is July 27th, 2025.

Amusingly, the last episode originally aired 51 years ago today.

This is very surprising and exciting news! I was getting ready to buy the original DVDs secondhand but I'll definitely splurge for this new Blu-ray set. It's a shame after all these years we're still not getting a credit less version of the opening and endings. Oh well. I'm very curious to see if episode 24's original episode title will be stored. That episode originally featured the word kichigai (気違い) in its title, which is now considered derogatory. The original title was changed for the laserdisc and DVD releases.

Slightly off topic but I'm very sad that Cutie Honey isn't getting the HD treatment. I feel like this more or less confirms we're never getting a proper HD remaster...

Some comparisons between the English Cutie Honey DVD and Blu-Ray subtitles.

I've fansubbed the theatrical version of Majokko Megu-chan episode 11: "Messenger from the Moon." This was shown in theaters as part of the 1975 spring Toei Manga Matsuri.

The theatrical version is visually identical to the original, the major difference being that it's been cropped to widescreen. The audio has also been modified slightly, with a echo-like filter added to Patra's voice during some scenes. 

This fansub is based on ChuySub's translation, which was translated from the Italian dub. I've gone through and cleaned it up. I also did additional translation work when necessary. The credits have been fully translated as well.

Looking back, I'm actually surprised Cutey Honey Flash got away with so much nudity. Although I shouldn't be surprised, considering how far they pushed the envelope throughout it's 39 episode run.

I am very excited to present an English translation of Kazushi Sasaki's long out of print Cutey Honey Flash manga! This is a very unique adaptation that tosses out the romance elements of the TV series to focus more on Honey and Seira's sisterly relationship. The artwork is absolutely stunning and it's quite a fun read to boot. Scanning, translating and editing were all done by me. This is an ongoing project.
