Propaganda for Zoscar:

They're a canon qpr and have an explicitly stated "non-romantic but deeply platonic commitment" to each other

They've got such a fun arc and in the end open up an inn together and are just. The most (affectionately) bickering married couple. Also the first time they met each other Zolf headbutted Wilde and threatened to drown him in a bucket (and would have done it, too. How things can change)

Propaganda for Suitloon:

I think of them as queerplatonic, because theyre incredibly close and are pretty much each other's support systems. Balloon is Aromantic (technically canon? one of the creators said he was so im rlly hoping it is canon) so this is NOT a romantic ship. They dont have any romantic interactions, but you can spin every scene how you want. I just think they're in a QPR and are heavily supportive and understanding to each other. (Since like. half the people in the show fucking hate Balloon, and not many people seem to like to let Suitcase speak for herself)

I love him so much! Chill Sailor Paladin Dad my beloved. He's tired, he's asexual, he's biromantic, he's mechanically grief-stricken, he's atheist, he had a messy breakup with Poseidon Himself, he saved the world (somewhat reluctantly) and he's in a QPR with Oscar Wilde. Yes, *that* Oscar Wilde. I actually really love how Ben Merideth chose to portray Zolf's disability over the course of the show. Coming to terms with it is a pretty big part of his arc, and while I'm not the best person to judge here since I'm not an amputee, it felt very well executed to me. He spends a lot of the show having his agency, specifically regarding his legs, taken away from him (nonconsentual amputation from Mr Ceiling, legs he didn't agree to receiving from Poseidon, being forced into making major world decisions he doesn't feel equipped to handle, etc) and it's pretty clear that it's the feeling of powerlessness and lack of agency bothers him much more than the actual loss of his legs. While he does end up using prosthetics for the bulk of the campaign, after the action is done it's made clear that he much prefers using a wheelchair, which is what he does. Anyways. Vote for Zolf he has loads of hitpoints.

been thinking about zoscar lately. been thinking about loveless aromanticism and relationship dynamics that differ from the 'norm' and the fact that zolf and wilde never said i love you to each other but they didn't have to for us to understand just how much they care for each other. thinking about how they probably don't have the words that we have to describe their relationship. no queerplatonic, no aromantic, no asexual. thinking about how despite the fact that both of them are writers, putting their feelings into words has never been their strong suit. thinking about how maybe it doesn't have to be; maybe they don't have to say i love you to mean it, to mean something like it. maybe they can just say "i missed you yesterday" or "i made you breakfast" or "i fixed the button on your coat" or "i know you're having a bad day today so i'm just going to sit with you and not say anything to let you know i'm here for you" or "shall i read to you" or "you always oversalt your food" or "almost lost you" or "we've got this" or "i need you".

Just don’t think too hard about the people who could use magic in rqg after The Change instinctively trying, wether presigitation or healing, and being suddenly thrown back into reality- of course they can’t cast anymore, how silly of them to forget. It won’t stop them. They’ll still catch themselves making aborted gestures, half formed words dying on their tounges, a constant, jarring, reminder of their loss.

They could of saved them, but without magic. Well. May as well be useless. What use is a healer without their main source gone?

Last year during Ace Week I shared few posts talking about my fav podcast aspec character at the moment - Jonathan Sims, Zolf Smith, Arkady Patel, Aroace partners from Monstrous Agonies and Rudyard Funn. Since then I adopted some more aspec characters (some through headcanons only but still I am not giving them back) so I thought I will share them!

Marwood (Dark Ages) – Canonically not interested in sex either in elf way nor in human way. He only cares about his museum and sharing knowledge. He even wears handmade vests.

Hampton Fawx (Fawx & Stallion) – Aroace icon we all need (yes, that’s everything I have to say)

Skip Granger (Mission rejected) – He didn’t get a comment that (I think) had sex as a subtext and that’s everything I need to slap ace sticker onto the character. He also literally befriends everyone and have zero sexual tension with anyone.

Walt Pensive (Hello From The Hallowoods) – That old man doesn’t get labels and he’s such an icon for it. My ahsexual, aces, ace-hexual <3 No other option but completely love him
