It was photo of two girls, about 15 maybe 16 years old. At an amusement park or beach. Walking together, laughing, enjoying frozen yogurt.
BIG CW for ED and Body Image Topics. This is a response.
The caption from a user "zerocal*" said: Choose your body. The diet-themed username and the caption gave me the context needed to look at the photo in a different way: The girls had different body types. Not by much though. But, we teach young girls to scrutinize female bodies and it's not a skill that's easy to forget. I could explain until I was blue in the face how absurd it is to draw these distinctions, but the sort of person this post was made for won't want to hear it-- and they won't believe me. They will assume I'm lying to make them feel better. (there is a very high chance the person who posted this photo is in it, hopefully much older now as the fashions feel a bit dated-- but looking to confirm their suspicions about the origins of their own 'failings.') I'm not going to explain how "nobody is ugly" --or anything like that. It's patronizing. The girls in the photo have different body types and we've been invited to choose one. As if one is better than the other. Having been a 16 year old I know which one I'd have picked at that age: the one that didn't attract as much unwanted attention from men! Duh! And while any female body is a liability looking younger with more narrow hips cut back on the intrusive comments. So the thinner one.
No one asked me if I wanted that kind of attention. And I've never been a complainer so I thought I should solve the problem myself with a very strict diet. The thing is-- there isn't really a diet that rolls back the changes that come with puberty. And I knew this on some level I just didn't see a whole lot of other options. There aren't that many great options to fix something that isn't your fault in the first place. If you knew someone who was as mean to herself and you are trying to be to yourself right now would you tolerate it? Or would you tell her to stop? We all had every right to wear short shorts at the amusement park, or at the beach, before we had hips and after. Something that should have been beautiful and empowering was somehow soured for you. You didn't deserve that.
*not the real username, this is, however, based on a real post that I saw.

Good Morning Everyone,
Today is a gym day so I go swimming in a bit but before that breakfast.
Today is a cup of black tea, with zerocal sweetness.
And oats with toasted coconut flavor zero sugar chobani and a 2 table spoons of fat free sugar free pudding.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Not sure what the pudding calories are since I made it with unsweetened almond milk instead of skim and only used 2 table spoons in stead of a full serving. So those aren't included.
Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Quote of the Week
There's a lot of weird debate about whether Rust in the kernel is useful or not... in my experience, it's way more useful than I could've ever imagined!
I went from 1st render to a stable desktop that can run run games, browsers, etc. in about two days of work on my driver (!!!)
All the concurrency bugs just vanish with Rust! Memory gets freed when it needs to be freed! Once you learn to make Rust work with you, I feel like it guides you into writing correct code, even beyond the language's safety promises. It's seriously magic! ✨
There is absolutely no way I wouldn't have run into race conditions, UAFs, memory leaks, and all kinds of badness if I'd been writing this in C.
In Rust? Just some logic bugs and some core memory management issues. Once those were fixed, the rest of the driver just worked!!
– Asahi Lina on twitter
llogiq is mightily pleased with his suggestion.

Omg you do not belive how fast my heart was racing when reading the newest chapter, seeing price to the fucking marriage changes, omg that was really when my heart dropped. Overall that was such a good chapter I can't wait for more, seriously!!! You doing a amazing job!!!👍
thank you so much!!!! 💜😭
a little peek behind the curtain here: price showing up was actually a last minute addition, and with the woman in the blue dress even more last minute.
there was originally going to be a much larger confrontation that included other members of the 141 and another character that's been scrapped entirely, but it just didn't feel right and i didn't like the way it was turning out so it got changed!!

Nuova vita per l'ex inceneritore di Sesto San Giovanni: Il biometano dai rifiuti umidi domestici
Tumblr media
... #notizie #news #breakingnews #cronaca #politica #eventi #sport #moda Read the full article
