Tbh, I hate it when people downplay Zelgadiss's feelings of being a monster because of his looks, saying that if they were cursed to look like the way he does, they wouldn't complain and wouldn't want their original body back. I really wish I knew why people think getting turned into a chimera is worth losing other things that defined them.

I guess I have more sympathy and empathy for Zelgadiss because of the injuries I got to my face a few years ago ( and they can't be fixed / cured ) but I've always felt that Zelgadiss was valid in wanting to go back to looking human, no matter how much his curse makes him better in battle. He was changed against his will..... by his own family btw and I hate that people forget that.

"Mm? I'm always quiet," Zelgadis glanced away.

"More quiet than usual. Copper for your thoughts?"

Zel sighed. Xelloss would nag him about it until he said. "I was thinking if I could change any one thing about my form, it would be..."

"Ah." Xelloss smirked as Zelgadis trailed off, and reached up to touch the wire-like strands of the chimera's hair. "I have strong hands, you know."

He brushed his fingers through Zelgadis' hair.

If making a binder is an option, I know that Underworks binders are made from something called "power mesh". It seems to come in various different strengths so when you're shopping try to find the highest strength you can. Underworks uses 2 layers in the front and one in back, but if you are using a lower strength it might take 3-4 layers.

Hmm. The power mesh I’m familiar with is basically just a thin perforated Spandex; I’ve used it for things like my Zelgadiss gloves or bodysuits when I didn’t want to use body paint but wanted my skin to breathe. Since it’s mesh instead of solid material, it’s generally not as robust as what I’m looking for (though I suppose there could be a much stronger version out there that I just haven’t seen).

My current binder is made with 8-inch wide panels of heavy-duty elastic (like waistband elastic but thicker) for the entire torso section, so it had really great compression until the elastic started wearing out. I’ve found some similar elastic online, though, so I may buy a couple of yards and see if I can replicate the T-Kingdom binder design. At least if I make my own, it’ll be relatively cheap (the wide elastic is only $7.50/yd) and I can size it to fit exactly. (Sorry for the delayed answer, I’m still catching up after the last couple weeks’ chaos...)
