SAM IS THE BEST CHARACTER !!!!!!!!!!
Now don’t get me wrong I love Zebedee, but more importantly I would literally give anything for Sam and I am SO HAPPY that I’m not the only one who just adores him

They’re like Zebedee and Zeebad. Only the colours are swapped. And I don’t think Knuckles is 100% evil. Just misguided.

I am just rediscovering this whole universe that was so important in my early childhood and am hyperfixated on it right now. I had almost entirely forgotten about it and watched the movie for the first time in about 13 years.
I am just now finding the community, which is everything to me right now because I know exactly three irl people who knew about it too, one of whom I showed the movie too. That’s so little, this is legitimately the most obscure fixation I’ve ever gotten.
As I am finding the community I am feeling less alone in my fixation and it’s great. But it comes with a price. The price being, apparently, discovering that there’s an american version of this movie full of pop culture references.
First of all what the fuck did they do with their voices. Did they even try ? The voice actors are good don’t get me wrong, but why does Dougal have a kid’s voice ? Why does Ermintrude have the heaviest fucking texan accent ??? I don’t know how the non-american english dub does it because I only know the original french version but please tell me their voices aren’t like that in english for the love of god.
Second thing, I legitimately have yet to decide if all the pop culture references are incredibly cursed or incredibly funny. The Matrix got me the hardest tbh.
I am still in awe with finding a Magic Roundabout community, but at what price.
I was today years old when I found out that the magic roundabout had a terrible American dub that's just full of random pop culture references

Funny addendum to this, apparently the reason Doogal is Like That is that it's like an old French cartoon originally and so Weinstein bought it, had Hartman rewrite all the dialogue, and that's why Zeebad says stuff like "Haha! Trekkies! Beam me up!"
Y'know what's messed up?
The line "When I leave someone for dead, I EXPECT them to DIE. You can't even do THAT right, can you?!" is a line that goes very hard and I've used it before while DMing. Sounds like it's from a James Bond movie, a Marvel film, maybe Batman. Nope, it's from Doogal (2005) where an evil blue sno-cone says it to an animated nutcracker.

Here's an few unpopular opinions of mine
1. Doogle is a really good film
2. Zeebad is so fucking underrated like he tried to freeze the sun because he can. Ya killing a baby because you were weren't invited is dark, but freezing the sun for the heck of it is MUCH darker

Doogal (United States)
According to William H. Macy, Harvey Weinstein saw the film and decided to do an American version. On 24 February 2006, the film was released in the United States as Doogal and was produced by The Weinstein Company. In the US version, where audiences are not as familiar with the series, the majority of the British cast's voice work was dubbed by American celebrities such as Chevy Chase (Train), Jimmy Fallon (Dylan), Whoopi Goldberg (Ermintrude), William H. Macy (Brian), and Jon Stewart (Zeebad). Child actor Daniel Tay plays the titular character in the United States dub.
Only two original voices remained, those of Kylie Minogue and Ian McKellen; Minogue, however, re-voiced her own lines with an American accent. The United States version also adds Kevin Smith (Moose) and Judi Dench (narrator).
Reception
On Rotten Tomatoes, it received an aggregate score of 8% based on 49 reviews (4 "fresh" and 45 "rotten"). The consensus reads: "Overloaded with pop culture references, but lacking in compelling characters and plot, Doogal is too simple-minded even for the kiddies".[9][10] It has a score of 23 out of 100 ("generally unfavorable") on Metacritic, and an F rating from Entertainment Weekly writing that "very young children should be angry... where is it written that 4-year-olds don't deserve a good story, decent characters, and a modicum of coherence?". It was placed number five on Ebert & Roeper's Worst of 2006. Screen Rant ranked it number 1 on its list of the twelve worst animated movies ever made.[11]
Randy Miller of DVD Talk says that: "Doogal is, after all, one of the worst excuses for a children's film during this or any year ... Filled to the brim with pop culture references and other such gags that'll be even less funny a few years from now, it's like Shrek without the occasional bit of charm and surprise".[12]
Michael Phillips of the Chicago Tribune described the film as "Eighty-five minutes you'll never get back." and also put it on his Worst of 2006 list.[13] Frank Scheck of The Hollywood Reporter wrote, "The key frame animation, based on three-dimensional models, is rudimentary, with none of the characters proving visually arresting." Ned Martel of The New York Times wrote, "In Doogal setting the world right again involves a badly paced quest for three diamonds, assorted jokes that don't land, and a daringly incoherent climactic confrontation."[14]
Audiences polled by CinemaScore gave the film an average grade of "B–" on an A+ to F scale.[15]
