The women finally decided on three full picnic baskets of food. Their daughters loved it. A date with their moms? Empanada and Pomme were excited out of their little minds. It was a wonderful way to help ease Rivers and her child Pepito get adjusted into the dynamic they had going on. 

Bright green leaves bled into the pulsing blue of the summer sky above the park. Stunning day to have a picnic. As Niki and Bagi spread out the checkered blanket, Tina noticed something in the close distance. "Who is that?" 

Niki perked up as the kids settled down on the blanket with Baghera and Rivers. She squinted her eyes, the black around her eyes serving to give her a better view. "Oh, it's the boys! Tubbo, Fit and Pac." She raised her hand to wave them over.

They started the trek over as the girls continued to settle down. Mouse sunk down and laid her cane down gently, trying to keep it out of the children's little grubby hands. 

"Oi!" Pac greeted. "What are you guys doing here?" 

"Date with the newest member of our polycule," Jaiden said with a laugh, smiling at Rivers. 

"What are you guys doing?" Niki asked. 

"Same thing," Fit said with a laugh, squeezing Tubbo's shoulder. "We finally stopped being dumbasses." 

Bagi clapped her hands. "Congrats!! I knew you guys would figure it out eventually." 

"Yeah, yeah," Tubbo muttered but Tina noticed he was leaning into Fit's touch as if it was his only land line left to reality. "Shut the fuck up." 

"Well we're happy for you," Tina said before sitting down with Em. "Enjoy your date guys." 

"You too!" the three of them chimed before heading back off into the distance. 

Rivers laughed. "Crazy how many people on this island are gay. It's like uh... LGBTQ central." 

They all laughed with her, belly laughs that ended with them leaning on each other for support. 

"True Federation agenda," Baghera quipped and the laughter started to roll between them all once more. Tina had never felt so safe in her life. Maybe things were finally going her way.

The next is Jaiden and Nikki just. FIREBALL. PWAM PWAM PWAM PWARAMPWAM.

THEN FUCKING BAGHERA AND MOUSE. GIVING A FULL OUT CONCERT TO HER.

and like the door is closed but the rest of the polycule is like. "guys. should we take classes." (no they don't need to the babies like their lullabies as much as Bagh's and Mouse's)

Jaiden was the one who woke up the earliest in the house they all called home. She would roll out of bed, out of Niki’s arms most of the time and head to the kitchen. Never having been the best cook, she had asked Niki ages ago to help her learn some. Now every morning she woke before the sun to make eggs for the whole family. It was so tender her eyes would tear up if she thought about it for too long. 

Mouse was the second one to wake up. Anywhere between a half hour and a hour after Jaiden woke and started breakfast, Mouse would wander into the kitchen in a pair of pj’s that were absolutely never hers and greet her with a peck on the cheek. They kept each other company in the early mornings. The rest of the women were much bigger sleepers than them. 

Empanada woke up around the same time that Bagi did so Bagi was the one designated to fetch the young girl from her room and bring her out to eat. Bagi made the most delicious pancakes. Jaiden and Empanada would rave about them every morning that she made them while Mouse just watched them with a sleepy content expression. Domestic bliss. 

Tina was up next, crawling out of her and Bagi’s room with a yawn and an adorable tired smile. She would wrap her arms around her girlfriend as she cooked, going non-verbal for the first hour or so after she awoke. Everyone who was awake would take Em to school. Pile in the minivan, turn up the music, and they would be off. They had used to worry that there would be a time when Empanada would be embarrassed of them but every single day without fail, she kissed them all before she got out of the car, signing i love you after them until they had driven out of sight. 

When they finally got back, Baghera would be half awake perched on the kitchen counter eating their breakfast leftovers. “We can make you something?” 

“Baghera, please let us make you some food for once.” 

She always brushed them off. “Non, non. This is fine, mes petits choux. I am content.” 

Niki would awaken last but always managed to be the most bright eyed. She would make them all tea, not taking any of their “oh you don’t have to”’s with any seriousness. 

“I insist. Let me spoil you all.” 

It was unusual, they all knew that. But it was home. Ellas son casa.
