The fact that you can play a Samurai in Elden Ring is fucking hilarious to me. Like, you’ve got all these other origins and they’ve got some sort of tie in to the world of the Lands Between. Heroes are descendants of Godfrey, Astrologers, Prophets, and all other sorts directly connected to the world or a faction in it.

And then there’s just... like... a Samurai. They’re not even from the Lands Between. They’re a silent protagonist because they don’t speak the fucking language. They have no idea how they got there. There’s one other person in the entire game who’s from where you’re from and he’s a fucking bounty hunter. You miss your horse.

random ass thought I had concerning the Behavior of Bloody Fingers as it relates to Miquella and Mohg (spoilers, duh) (also mentions of injury and such consistent with Elden Ring because... its elden ring.)

So y'know how mohg was charmed by Marika 2.0? As was ansbach? What if the reason that bloody fingers attack other tarnished is that Miquella wishes to eliminate those who would become the Lord(s) of Marika by having them be offed by other Tarnished? Like, it makes sense when you think about it. Leda and her allies attack us before the Promised Consort battle for a similar reason: A tarnished who would become the lord of the Erdtree is directly challenging miquella's ascension to godhood. So it stands to reason that the Bloody fingers- knights of Mohg both before and after he was charmed- are doing the same. I also think that, similar to Ansbach, the Bloody Finger NPCs are likely charmed. This is why Okina helps us fight Radahn, but attacks us in the mountaintops of the giants (accomplishing something that would aid miquella's ascension vs preventing something that would aid ours, or at least trying) as well as changing the meaning behind Yura's description of Eleanora as a Proud Knight before she changed. She was likely a Proud pureblood knight, and the change occured when Mohg (and presumably the encountered Bloody finger NPCs) were charmed by miquella to become what is essentially his 'pest control'. That also provides a reason why, despite Yura having cut off Eleanora's finger that served as her main invasion catalyst, she still attacks us within that church.

Anyway this is just a random thought I had.

so I'm doing my little research thing for the accent spreadsheet I'm working on and listening to the voice lines of Yura I just had a thought... could be nothing but. I always wondered why he referred to Eleonora as 'Violet Bloody Finger'. Could she have some link to St. Trina? Or maybe even the Gloam Eyed Queen, given that light purple is usually associated with her??
