So so many thoughts about last night's episode!

Spoilers ahead

I know we all knew teen was Billy but come on that reveal with joe in the Scarlett witch crown had me SCREAMING and paired with YSSMIAC yesss I was yelllllling (also the song being a BILLIE eilish song YKYK) like yes my baby wiccan is here and he's looking for MOTHER.

As a die hard wanda maximoff stan, and someone who cannot be normal about Joe Locke, this was a great day for me!!

Seeing agathas evolution in the last few minutes was such an intense performance from mother hahn. The sadness with her mom, "i can be good" immediately taking Alice's power. Seemingly being regretful. Teen snapping at her and her immediately switching to snarky and rocky.

"Are you sure? You're so much like your mother"

JOE LOCKE HOLDING HIS OWN AGAINST HOLLYWOOD VETERANS that stare back at her was incredible.

Billy being so smart to not blast her and instead use mind control on the coven to wrangle agatha instead was chefs kiss. Again that final shot was simply a masterpiece I have not been this hype for a marvel project SINCE wandavision or no way home. Joe locke the man that you are welcome to the maximoff family.

Lastly I'm so interested to know where Rio went when Billy was chucking witches left and right into spicy mud. Most likely collecting alice but I am SAT for next week!!

sorry but some of y’all have lost the plot on what it means to be camp. yssmiac playing while Billy’s crown forms on his head is not camp, it’s a very basic, very literal music choice that isn’t even new, they did it on locke and key years ago

and that’s not to say I didn’t like it or it was a bad shot or anything, it was fun, but it was not camp, not in the slightest.

Mothigan Headcanons

I really like how mysterious Mothigan is, so i thought it would be fun to share some headcanons, mainly about how i think she's part of a line of people who came in possession of the crypt and how her powers work. I also hid an among us in this drawing.

So I mentioned in my last post about her that i headcanoned that there was someone before her who passed the crypt onto her, so here is that headcanon in more detail.

This mysterious coach is who i call "The King of the Butterflies". However he was dying, someone had inflicted an illness onto him, and so he needed to find someone to replace him. Mothigan stumbled upon the crypt one day and decided to investigate, finding the dying king. She decided to stay and help him. From here she was taught magic and how to control the butterflies. Once the King had taught her enough so that she would continue on the legacy, he succumbed to the illness and died, leaving Mothigan as the new ruler of the crypt and all the butterflies. Though she realised that inevitably she would have to find a successor too, but that won't be for many years to come. Maybe.

She does enjoy this power, and as she learnt more, the more she wanted to carry on the legacy created by those who came before her, and hopes that whoever she finds as her successor, falls in love with the butterflies as she did.

Though at this point she can barely remember her predecessor's face. She can still hear his voice when she falls asleep, guiding her, but otherwise he appears as a shadow with piercing red eyes. She misses him though, even if she only knew him for a short while. She wonders if this was how his predecessor appeared to him, and if this is how she will appear to her successor when she departs. Just a shadowy figure who appears in their dreams.

I tried to depict what one of these dreams would look like with this quick drawing(i used the noise and bloom features on procreate a lot.) I didn't want to detail it too much. I also made the dream version of her predecessor reference a certain cryptid.

This mystery man doesn't have a name, it would be something related to butterflies. i'm not going to tag this post with oc, because he's just a shadow and not really a full oc yet.

The coaches of eternyx have given her the name "The Monarch of Moths", and they revere her as they don't know her intentions. They say if you catch a glimpse of her, you are in danger. However this would be merely an old folktale that has been associated with the rulers of the crypt, and they are not evil in any way. Basically some think that they are cryptids.

I call her a Monarch mainly after the butterfly, i'm unsure if that's the exact butterfly that's used in her design or if its a different yellow and black butterfly, and its fitting as she seemingly has control over all the butterflies in the crypt. (Unless they actually control her?)

Thats about it for my headcanon on her past but I have ideas about how she uses the butterflies in her magic.

Most obvious, she can create portals in the shape of butterflies for her to travel through, much like the rectangular ones Wanderlust and The Traveller create. I just like the idea of her travelling wherever she wants, even if it seems like she rarely leaves the crypt. Also i just think butterfly shaped portals sound cool.

Another idea I have was that she can send individual butterflies off and use them as cameras. This would be most useful for her when she is keeping an eye out for a successor. This would sort of work in a similar way to how Wanderlust watched Night Swan corrupt Sara in yssmiac, except its only one way so no one can see her and its not an actual portal, just a window. (Does that make sense?)

I mentioned this in the other Mothigan post as well, but the Butterflies could be the souls of the dead. They choose to help the ruler of the crypt. They've been around forever, even before the previous king. Whilst the rulers of the crypt use the flow for their magic, these butterflies help heighten their powers.

I think about her a lot, like she's so mysterious that it just intrigues me. That's sort of why i created this headcanon that she inherited the crypt from a previous butterfly related figure. I don't think that she's evil. I think that she mostly just minds her own business and just ended up in this position. Scary Butterfly Lady (complimentary) you are so cool.

Lastly I like making her eyeliner more exaggerated. Like a member of kiss, but she controls butterflies. Thats all i have right now.

Just played YSSMIAC as Sara and the scoring was like. Pretty decent? I’m not sure if it’s fully fixed but it feels definitely adjusted (though that might just be me)

When coaches are the same person in my memories...but have different canon names

It's something I've touched on before a few times, but sometimes I'll connect two coaches as being the same person in my timeline, despite the fact they're canonically different people. Sometimes the explanation is simple - nicknames, middle names, stage names, undercover psuedonyms...but sometimes there IS no explanation, often making me feel like I'm insane for 'thinking' they could be the same person.

And yet, it often doesn't come out of nowhere either. Typically, I have a reason for thinking the coaches could be the same person, but because of the whole 'different names canonically' thing, it comes across as convoluted.

So here's a little example just to put you guys in my shoes for a sec.

Imagine there's a map, where the coach has light blue hair with little curls. It's not quite like Sara's hair, but pretty similar. The coach has prominently bright lipstick, and is wearing the sweetest little smile the entire time. In this hypothetical map, we see this coach play Just Dance, and in a depiction of the coach's home, we see a panda plush - which is funny, because in Sara's house at the beginning of YSSMIAC, there's a hidden panda plush as well. Heck, the routine even features human hands prominently multiple times, and last I checked, Sara was a human!

Would you think that maybe this coach...was Sara?

Well you'd be wrong. Because I have just described "Paige" from We Can't Be Friends.

I think the storymode songs should all have an unrelated alt. Simply because I think it would be pretty cool. Like a swan lake alt with actual ballet, yssmiac battle map between Woodcrown and JD high, and canned heat with the napoleon dynamite dance

Kapyy but Night Swan got him or something

Funny idea that popped into my head on Monday night. Calling him "Night Kappy" makes him sound like a mushroom. Like what if there was a season were night swan just took over other coaches. If i were to make the twins headcanon into an actual fanfiction, Kapyy getting corrupted and Talia sway having to snap him out of it would be a plot point towards the end.

I can't do feathers so i did his cloak and the feather accents the same way i'd do hair, i think it turned out all right. He's just really giving 90s supervillain here. For the chain necklace, i used the night swan badge from doing yssmiac but gold. I also just liked the idea of giving him those spiked bracelets.

I had to make a few concepts of what Kapyy would look like so here they are below. Have 90s supervillains, street kid or something. and the one thats totally not Cyclops from the Xmen. The out come is a mix between cyclops clone and 90s supervillain (2 and 3) with a bit of the others mixed in. I really wanted to give him the cyclops visor, I know nothing about the xmen but ive just been thinking about cyclops a lot recently and that got translated into this (watch me draw them high fiving or something). There was something about giving him longer hair for this that i just really liked. I really just went onto pinterest and typed "90s futuristic fashion mens" and found a few looks that i liked and mashed them together. Also feathers, a lot of feathers.

The word "Night" doesn't look like a real word to me anymore ever since i started making this. I'd do a night version of Talia Sway but that would just be her wearing the reputation bodysuit but with feathers instead of snakes, and i've already done that with snakes. Unless i can think of something else

Personality wise, he would have the mouth of a sailor like this, but no one would take him seriously and they'd start laughing at him. He'd be like a toddler who heard a curse word once. Others think he's adorable and not a threat. He'd also be more of a danger to himself than others whilst like this, Talia has to tie him to a chair so he doesn't run into a wall and give himself a concussion by accident.

I'm planning a continuation for this one like i did for the visceral reaction post, i'm writing the dialogue in my notes app. I just want to try and improve my story telling and dialogue writing. it'll be funny. I started writing something last night where he can't sleep and asks Talia to stay with him, just twins headcanon stuff that's been floating around in my head because i listened to safe and sound by taylor swift on the bus home yesterday. Basically i have all these ideas in my head that i should put to paper.

Lastly what i learnt while making this is that Night Swan did such a good job on the just dancers outfits for tainted love, like she knows how to throw an outfit together. Gabriel Agreste wishes he could be Night swan (I've watch all the seasons of miraculous and had a visceral reaction when that teaser for the map dropped last year. Like that show's so bad but i can't look away). So i hope i make Night Swan proud with this design.

Also here he is in his unblended glory, looking like the backgrounds from phineas and ferb (because of the shapes on the track suit).

TBC 30 day challenge

Day 27: the most special visit to the city for you

This is another really tough one, because every visit was wonderfully special for its own reasons.

The show where I did my first ever loop with Pin Chieh’s Kampe and then looped Kronos and got his 1:1, that was very special! It was my first 2 show day (and my first 3 show weekend!) and my first time meeting people from the Discord server, and I couldn’t have asked for a better atmosphere and better companions for it all.

The show where I first looped Artemis, Apollo and Iphigenia, complete with Iphi’s 1:1 to top it all off, that was very special! I was in the midst of unemployment and the January blues, but these three masters of their craft stole me away for three hours and made me forget that I had ever existed elsewhere.

My birthday show, spent with Neoptolemus, Zagreus, Hades, Laocoön and Askalaphos, complete with my first TBC 1:1 with Skally, that was very special! My first ever 1:1 had come at possibly the lowest point in my life, and reminded me that I deserved to be noticed, and loved, and chosen by those who ought to value me. Years later to have this 1:1 remind me all over again of how it feels to be truly seen, truly chosen, was the best birthday gift of all.

But the show that meant the most to me was, I think, my final show. A goodbye loop with Milton’s Kronos, just as tense and captivating as ever, and a goodbye loop with Pin Chieh Kampe, which might be the most fun I’ve ever had in the show (or possibly even outside the show). It was as though Pin Chieh knew it was my last show, and she went above and beyond to make me feel included. It was joyous, from the secret grin we shared behind the Klub bar, to the dance she led her newly initiated snake cult in, her stunning performances in YSSMIAC and Liquid Smoke, and even the 5:1, for which she fished me out of the crowd and ushered me in so carefully, before she chose anyone else. It was the perfect goodbye to the show and the character, and I am forever grateful that I was able to experience her phenomenal portrayal that one more time.
