Is gojo truly selfless? Most people think he does it for an ulterior motive and for his personal beneficial reasons & it’s kinda calculated. Like he can gain benefit out of it exp: saving yuuji from execution and saving megumi from his clan, to make his vision/dream of transforming the jujutsu society come true. So it’s kinda selfish more or less?
see . the thing about gojo is that he’s constantly walking on the fine line between ’extremely selfless’ and ’extremely selfish.’ the reason i often call him selfless is specifically in regards to how i see him acting when he’s in love — i think that if gojo loves you, what’s most comfortable for him is to distance himself from you and watch you be happy with someone else. even if it it irks at him. he would do it because he believes it’s best for the both of you.
but you could also make an argument that it’s very selfish because he’s ignoring what he feels for you and what you feel for him, making a decision that’s less paralyzing for him but making it for the both of you — etc. that’s kinda why it’s difficult. at some point selflessness and martyrdom spins back to selfishness; but either way i think gojo exists right at the gap between them. he's an extreme case.
relationship aside though, i’d call canon gojo selfless for very similar reasons — because his entire goal centers around the idea of everyone leaving him behind. i agree that gojo is calculative, and that both saving megumi and yuuji was apart of his dream to nurture powerful allies, but i also think you’re ignoring an extremely important part of gojo’s character by implying that’s all it was. gojo’s main character motivation is the preservation of youth — and another point that’s important to him is personal autonomy. he wants kids to be kids, and he wants people to get to choose how they live their lives. both of these motivations are more important to him than his selfless/selfish dream of being surpassed.
so, basically — i think gojo is very logical and calculative at his core, and he doesn’t do what he does out of the kindness of his heart — he does it because it’s important to him. protecting youth is important to him. being a mentor is important to him. he does what he does for himself which could be called selfish, but he also deliberately does things that bring him more pain, and more isolation, which could be called selfless. so it’s tough. overall i think it’s wrong to treat gojo like a saint but also wrong to treat him like some mastermind — gojo does what he wants, and he mostly wants things that are good.

atsumu’s pr team the type to put him into every possible thing—sports ads, energy drink endorsements, hair care commercials, tiktok trends, the whole thing.
at some point the miya twins try to start a podcast but it’s 30 minutes of them bickering, so it ends after 5 episodes. a youtube channel doesn’t do any better.
but it’s in his mid-late twenties that a movie is pitched to him and his pr team is all over it, marketing him as the up-and-coming romcom heartthrob of the next decade.
atsumu has never acted a day in his life, and sure, he’s hot, has a charmer of a smile and the physique of a god. but the moment he speaks, all of that gets thrown out the window immediately.

hello friends, i hope everyone is doing well-- in light of recent events, i'll be a bit more sparse than usual in terms of activity here. our hospital center is one of, if not the biggest systems in the us southeast and while we don't know what will happen with programs like ivf (which we were forced to stop for a short period when roe v. wade was overturned), gender affirming care, and abortion, we're doing our best to accommodate those who come to our clinics as best we can. i personally have a lot going on working with fronts alongside our young palestinian group as well as the hospital systems but will share every resource that we come across.
for any afab individuals who might find themselves carrying, please please please look into all of your options. our obgyns are legally barred from disclosing abortion clinics and options regarding abortion once someone has disclosed to them that they are pregnant. however, you are within your full right to ask about options IN THE FUTURE IF YOU ARE EVER PREGNANT BUT BEFORE YOU ARE. this means asking at routine checks where you can have them done, what types of abortion are available up to what length of time, SO LONG AS YOU ARE NOT CURRENTLY CARRYING. many of our providers are side-stepping repercussions by asking before it is too late, so if you can remember to do so just to have that safety net in the back of your mind, i implore you.
another resource is this spreadsheet here detailing physicians willing to perform tubal sterilizations. no questions about spousal agreement, dissuasion about "regretting it in the future", or any hoops that many doctors present these days. there are physicians in this sheet all across the globe, not just the us so it's a resource to consider for my international friends as well.
my heart goes out to everyone impacted by the decision shared this morning, and please don't hesitate to reach out if there is anything that i can do. my resources are limited, as the state that i'm earning my degree in is one of the most stringent but i will do my best to help.

That Malleus Anon again, apparently also TWST EN on twt has now come to the consensus that Malleus hates Silver because he did what he did in Chapter 7, Part 2 and I'm... I'm honestly Pepe crying right now.
PLEASE SAY UR JOKING
IM BEGGING????
Like, Malleus doesn't hate Silver at all, he practically helped raise him [and Sebek] with Lilia. It's more of the fact that Mallleus never got to experience what it was like to have a father.
His parents are long dead and his Grandma, for all intents and purposes, is stuck in Briar Valley tiding the people over so as to not put unnecessary pressure on one the last Draconia's.
Lilia had to pick up the slack of raising Malleus into a King who would usher in a new era for Briar Valley.
In some ways Malleus feels robbed that he can never have someone to call 'old man' or 'father'..
It's more akin to slight jealousy if we wanna be honest, but even then Malleus still cares enough ab Silver to hear him pour his heart out. He heard the pleas of Silver not being strong enough to keep Lilia and took matters into his own hands.
You can say he looked indifferent while Silver was tearing himself up ab not being able to repay Lilia a debt that never needed to be collected, but you cannot deny that there's a sense of love in putting the entirety of NRC [and possibly the island] under a 'blessing'.
Malleus wanted to quell the hurt he and Silver shared in not being able to do anything in the face of death. He picked up where Silver left off when he cried out that he wasn't strong enough, because Malleus is strong enough.
He did as a king would, he heard his people's struggle and did something about it.
And I would argue that he and Kalim share parallels because of that, because they want to wrap everyone in a 'blessing'.

Porto Ercole, Italy
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He looks so boyish, like the backwards cap and the dangling foot
Tumblr media Tumblr media
His standard Apple cable headphones I can’t he’s so sweet (probably either listening to the Beatles, Bowie, some classical music, the strokes or Miles new album 🐢 and maybe getting some inspo for AM8)
Tumblr media
THE TATTOO I can’t 🤣🤣 like after leaving the fandom wondering for five years what he possibly did with the Taylor tattoo, the little shit just doesn’t give a fuck
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pretty sure that’s the hotel, cause towels, the pool and the dock all fits
Tumblr media
Also like im sorry but if you look at the pics of Harry Styles and Olivia from the beach that were taken by Backgrid they look near identical
Also cause i was already on the subject of Harry Styles:
Are they in the same place ?! cause towels and the furniture and the stonewall. That would be fuckin hilarious but probably they already know each other well through Alexa Chung
Alrighty confirmed Harry also stayed at Il Pellicano (he was photographed with a bag with the hotels name on it)

everytime i watch shameless I get hit with a jolt of sickness and remember how frank and monica stole fionas life from her and she'll never get it back because it never existed because she was a sister first her whole life (from the age of 4) and everything else second and its always just so casual in the show and normal and rarely touched upon but it's not normal at all and it's tragic
#another post made at 2am that i found in the drafts#but my god its messed up how frank and monica got to live their own lives and how the kids got to have aspirations kinda but fiona was just#always stuck with the feeling of being stuck#cause she was forced to devote a largeee chunk of her life to servitude#its so unbelievably telling of frank and monicas innate selfishness above anything else imo :#their willingness to fulfil their mutual desire to extend the feeling of things such as youth and excitement and fun#to the point that they stripped their own daughter of the ability to experience childhood#education#etc#my memory is hazy but frank definitely was in college and i think monica was too? either way they both got to finish HS / experience it#but not fiona!!! its the opposite of parents sacrificing so their children can have more#they had more than fiona did and didnt give a shit about the fact that they just took from her#(obviously im not saying they had rosy perfect lives as kids teens and young adults— far from it actually)#(but its shockingly clear that they had a great deal more than fiona...or at least less on their plates...)#like when frank speaks of being a boy in college#its like.. these opportunities he threw away while fiona would've loved to have them but instead she had to drop out of HS#against her will#like yes its complicated but bottom line is its just sad how frank and monica were both afforded with control over their lives to a degree#while all of fionas life decisions carried the weight of her whole family and she didnt get to have independent control over her life#like for example she didnt drop out of HS cause she actually wanted to#she just didn't have any other choice

DC horribly missed the opportunity to give Tim a new hero identity with TDR. I don’t mind Tim Drake: Robin from like a character or plot standpoint, but I think it could have greatly benefited from leaning into the “coming of age” aspect that is often associated with moving out to build your own life as well as coming to terms with your sexuality. Tim should’ve been allowed to move on from the Robin identity. I believe that he more than any of the other Bats deserves to move on from Batman and from Gotham and be whoever he wants to be.
Anyway, this is just me thinking that Pilcrow would’ve been a pretty neat name for Tim.
Pilcrow: (n.) a symbol (¶) used to mark a new paragraph or section of text.
A new paragraph in life. A new start.
It also sounds like Crow, to acknowledge the bird theme.

Heya Renaerys. Can you tell me your thoughts on multi saku ships? 👀 I'm not a super majestic avid fan of Naruto and I'm just one of the normal ones who like the canon ships of it, but as I found out that there are fans that ship Sakura with other characters, I got curious about the nature of it. What is the appeal? How does the ship/s work? What makes you love it and enjoy it so much?
Ps. Worry not! Despite liking the canon ships, I'm open to multi shipping. So I hope these questions appear "safe" lol 😋
I am someone who does not in any way support the "canon" ships in Naruto. So I only ship things are not that lol. But I'm a fan of people liking what they like and not bothering others, so I sincerely hope you find fanworks featuring your favorite ships that you can enjoy and love!
I'm not interested very much in multi-sakura. I actively ship only two Sakura ships, which are SasoSaku and ShiSaku, and in very specific, nitpicky ways. That is just my personal preference. I'm supportive of some other Sakura ships and I enjoy experimenting with rare pairs if I get a really good idea, but they don't get my heart pumping like these two do. My main problem with multi-Sakura is that the majority of that fandom doesn't actually care about who Sakura, the canon character, is and instead they flatten her to be a cardboard, self-insert YA heroine with a vaguely stubborn streak. I don't think this is like evil or bad or anything. There's a reason this type of main female character archetype is popular and ubiquitous. But I find it excruciatingly boring, personally.
Canon Sakura is kind of a shitty person. She is extremely selfish in many of her decisions, and her brand of romantic love is obsessive and smothering and, again, selfish. She is a very insecure person. For all of part 1, she is lazy and unserious in her role as a shinobi and cares only about her crush on a boy. And she is really bad at taking no for an answer. She experiences a lot of growth in Shippuden, some of which mitigates and improves upon some of these earlier negative qualities. For example, she stops being lazy and starts actually working hard at being a shinobi and becomes pretty strong. She demonstrates more positive qualities, such as more compassion for others, a fighting spirit, and teamwork. She also just gets older, and with that comes the expected growth in maturity. A 16 year old is going to be more mature than a 12 year old.
But the negative qualities are part of her character and her growth, and I don't hold any of it against her. I think these qualities make her interesting and layered, and decidedly not the cardboard, blank slate, self-insert YA heroine type at all. Yet, so much multi-Sakura or "BAMF" Sakura content erases all of this nuance. To many of these types of fans, she's always been just a victim wronged at every turn, never did a thing wrong herself, every hot guy in the world wants to bang her for some completely mysterious and illogical reason, and she's "not like the other girls" in the laziest, most insipid ways. She becomes a chimera of the traits of many of the other female characters (she is sassy like Ino, caustic like Karin, tough like Temari). None of this is earned or even remotely close to who this character is in canon. And it makes me wonder--why are these people writing about Sakura when they really ought to be writing about any of these other female characters who actually do possess these traits and may be a better fit for a particular story or ship? Why do you have to steal these traits and give them to Sakura and make every ship about her?
I know why. You know why. I don't think I have to spell it out.
All of this being background to your question: what is the appeal of multi-Sakura? In short, multi-Sakura has become associated with self-inserting into a female character you've stripped down to bland oatmeal personality in a pretty package to make her appealing to the lowest common denominator and shipping her with any hot guy you want without thinking critically about why the pairing might make sense or work as evidenced by canon personality and/or events. Is that every multi-Sakura work in existence? Definitely not. Is it encompassing of every person who happens to have a Sakura ship? Not even close. But it is a significant and, sadly, vocal majority, and the term "multi-Sakura" itself has become shorthand for this kind of shipping preference and characterization (or, rather, lack thereof).
But just like any fandom preference, it's basically harmless. Boring and vapid, in my personal opinion, but harmless.

Wonder when the others will figure out that Zhalien is slowly becoming particularly attached to/protective of the only party member who's found out about her son (words let slip when she was dying) because she, consciously or not, sees him as a surrogate child as well as the only person in her current life who knows her secret
He's also the only human, like her husband and half of her son's heritage, but there isn't much of a similarity between "pale, blond, small and average-height" and "Middle-Eastern, got tall genes from both sides and large genes from one" so I doubt that's too big a factor
