Amidst the crowd, you stood, a rising soloist in the K-pop industry, poised and ready to grace the stage. Your heart pounded with anticipation, knowing that tonight's performance would be a pivotal moment in your career.

As the event began, you scanned the room, your eyes searching for a familiar face. And there she was – Rosé, the ethereal member of the world sensation girl group, Blackpink. She stood tall and graceful, the epitome of beauty and elegance, as she mingled with the other ambassadors for YSL.

Despite the excitement of being in the same room as your girlfriend, you knew that you had to maintain a professional facade. After all, your relationship with Rosé was a closely guarded secret, known only to a select few.

It is two in the morning as of writing this but I am only capable of writing around this time (just as a warning; mistakes maybe inbound [':<)

"AAAAAAAAAAHH!!!"

Screams were a normal occurence in the apocalypse, but never had Mikey heard a cry so raw and gutteral. What was more concerning was the source of that scream, one that shook him to his very core because of how familiar yet foreign the voice was.

Even as a little brother, he was still a brother.

Bounding off the walls with restless energy, Mikey dashed into the infirmary. There were snippets of conversation that he could barely register his panic, but he threw the doors open. The wind knocked silence into the room, his hair and cape fluttering in the air as Mikey called out for his brother.

There, Cassandra and Leo were sitting in front of each other, bearing different levels of stunned silence at Mikey's entrace. It didn't matter though.

Cassandra pulled away, and Leo held onto the bandage... where his arm was.

"Mikey..."

"I- I h-heard screaming."

Mikey approached Leo, seeing his older brother so unsure of himself and in such rough shape only made his heart shatter more. He did his best to piece himself back together. Mikey wasn't the oldest, but he still had to be a brother.

A brother of four... Now in the apocalypse, where they all had bigger things to worry about than themselves. Age roles don't matter now.

"The effects must have worn off by now..." Mikey mentioned matter-of-factly, more to distract himself than Leo. He reached his hand out to rest a hand on his head. "Hold still for a second."

Leo looked away, hiding... He was always hiding. Spitefully, he let himself simmer for not being at the nexus of Leo's cry for help--where his brother was always putting on a face for everyone and reserving such agony for those who were closest to him. Though nowadays, even around his family, Leo seldom ever let the facade drop.

But no point in dwelling now--there were other matters to tend to.

"It might feel a little funny..." Mikey let a smattering of Doctor Feelings come out; just enough to convince Leo to calm down, "Just relax, okay?"

Mystic magic coursed through his veins, ninpo ebbing at his form and warping out of his hands to Leo's form. The latter struggled, winced, hurt. Hell, his powers were beginning to take a toll on his body. Healing that used to come easy to him caused him to struggle, his vision going blurry and focus becoming difficult to maintain.

Even worse were the flood of emotions he felt coursing through his body, the give and take of ninpo with Leo--letting Mikey feel the snippets of regret and injustice his brother felt.

A wince.

"I know..."

A hiss.

"I know..."

A quiet plead.

"I'm almost done."

Leo was moving--his energy began to wane and his concentration began to falter.

"Leo, please..."

His connection to his power felt like gathering water with his bare hands. He couldn't balance Leo completely anymore. Or rather, Leo wasn't trying to sit upright anymore.

"Just..."

Just as the last remnants of mystic magic left him, he felt it. The agony, the pain, the burden. All of it for a split second came rushing through Mikey's body.

"Hold..."

His vision and bearings returned to him, and then he felt a weight on his shoulder. A desperate hand clung to his cape, a familiar dampness slowly staining the fabric.

"O-on..."

He was paralysed; unable to comfort him, but unable to leave. Mikey was just a brother, and his brother needed him.

Hi lovely, I absolutely ADORE the forgotten birthday series so much! I know the indifference route was inspired by the anon (thank you anon 🙌) and I’m so glad you took that direction. You don’t really see it very often and the way you write it is so realistic. I also like how they are trying to ACTIVELY win back the readers love. Instead of just focusing on the birthday, they’re also paying attention to readers behaviour and realizing that tho the reader is in the relationship they’ve emotionally checked out. Sometimes people in relationships don’t care if their partner is indifferent as long as they are still together (technically) and I’m glad that you granted them some self awareness and I didn't mind seeing them grovel after the absolute TURMOIL they put us through 😒🤭. also thank you for giving us some self respect and not making us fold like a house of cards at the slightest sign of an apology from the men 😭. I know you said you were open to an epilogue and I for one would love to see it (but no pressure love). I just loved the whole series so much, even tho part one and two almost had me punching my pillow cause the men were being so disrespectful like oh my word 😭. The one where they’re shading your new bf is funny as hell and had me cackling ngl🤭🤭. You write them super accurately and I can imagine them doing and saying all these things ngl 😭😭. Toji having to intervene with Shiu’s ex and yuta/yuuji trying to jump gojo’s ex had me in shambles. Uruame and Sukuna double teaming was also funny. ^ This is Wilton Rader (late 20s & mid 50s respectively)

✨- How did you come up with the OC’s name?

Wil here was the first victim of my 'W' name obsession

I didn't wanna give him a "boring" name like William, so I looked up variants that 'Wil' could be a nickname for + Wilton won

last name (Rader) was picked bc together his name means 'Wheelmaker Who Lives by the Stream' & it felt like a nice little easter egg foreshadowing his retirement

🌼 - How old are they? (Or approximate age range)

As of the Dead Wood storyline, he's in his mid-late 60s

🌺- Do they have any love interest(s)?

Walt!! They met after being recruited for a demonic civil war neither really wanted to take part in. They became nearly inseparable over the course of The War, but Wilton still had a hard time coming to terms with how he really felt. He was only able to admit his love for Walt many many years later, when he thought the world was about to end. your typical mlm confession

🍕 - What is their favorite food?

Being the only member of his family that can't feed off of intangible emotions, he's forced himself to learn how to cook and is pretty good at it!

He's got terrible food anxiety regarding red meats, so he uses fish and eggs instead - he loves making quiches!

💼 - What do they do for a living?

Wilton is a woodworker! He goes into town every so often to sell his wares; anything from bed frames and cabinets to mini wooden sculptures

🎹 - Do they have any hobbies?

Wilton likes to spend his free time reading, or at least practicing.

He never got the chance to go to school, so never learned to do it in his youth; a fact that he's embarrassed of but will never admit.

🎯 -What do they do best?

He insists his only talent is whittling & carving and will fervently refute anyone who says otherwise.

Unfortunately for him, it's hard for many to forget his fearsome and bloody past.

🥊 -What do they love to do? What do they hate to do?

Aside from woodworking, Wilton loves to take long walks along the river, especially when it rains. It's a deeply calming experience for him.

He hates having to recall or talk about his younger years. Apart from meeting Walt, he doesn't believe there's anything good worth remembering, let alone telling his daughter.

❤️ - What is one of your OC’s best memories?

Holding a baby Bambi in his arms for the first time. Well, "arms". She was so small that she fit into the palms of his hands and her teeth hadn't yet grown in; he stayed up all night just holding and rocking her.

✂️ - What is one of your OC’s worst memories?

A tactical error during The War led to him and his troop being ambushed and his wings were ripped out for trophies. As punishment, he spent his entire recovery in a nightmare coma induced by the demon that lives in his brain.

🧊 - Is their current design the first one?

yes and no..

OG design is him as a youngin w/ a blue hoodie he never takes off (bc of the little antlers)

🍀 - What originally inspired the OC?

an RPG i was apart of run by @/fvriva on Scratch, my first social media

He was originally a mlp horse(?) turned human if you can fuckn believe it....

Fantasy Body Horror

Cis(?) + Aspec

Just Warren, but they don't talk much without interference from Bambi. After mauling him, Wilton doesn't feel like he deserves to have a relationship with his brother. He respectfully keeps his distance.

🍎 - What is the OC’s relationship w/their parents like?

TERRIBLE.

His father (Gindikouk) is a demonic spirit of decay who trapped and tortured him in his own mind for decades. Wilton wants nothing more than to forget about His existence entirely.

His mother (Fable Monroe) was a witch who only gave birth to him so Gindikouk could have a host body. She died before he could meet her, but that was probably for the best.

🧠 - What do you like most about the OC?

The angst for sure, but also exploring how he heals from it.

It's pretty easy to traumatize a character but it's been more interesting to see how they put themselves back together.

✏️ - How often do you draw/write about the OC?

I used to write about and draw this guy all the time.

I've since let him "retire" so I can focus more on Bambi + co!

💎 - Do you ever see yourself killing off the OC?

I had a lot of drafts where I killed him off and none of em felt like a satisfying end for him.

He's technically dead in Dead Wood, but that's after getting a happy ending so it's fiinnee

That Gindikouk will somehow worm His way back into Wil's life

It doesn’t feel real, it’s not believable. But you, you write in a way that REALLY captivates your followers, it's so inspiring! You could write dramas for Netflix, I’m telling ya! Drama, conflicts and exciting relationships, but in a 100% believable and fascinating way. You’re just SOOOOO talented and I... I just appreciate you so fucking much. 🫶🥹🤍

whole hog: ayane, the shadow dancing on the wall

the shadow dancing on the wall, in more ways than one... The secondary protagonist of The Dream Quest of Henry Sinclair.

✨- How did you come up with the OC’s name?

I wanted a name that ends in -ne so I looked some up. I almost went with Akane but that means red, and she is literally blue. I mean she looks pink in the image but that's just lighting hush

🌼 - How old are they? (Or approximate age range)

Ayane is, textually, a fictional character. Her book was first published six years prior to the events of Dream Quest. Within the text of her book, she is 16. She has lived her own life over and over for every time that someone has read her book, though her memories of the loops are hazy. As a result she is simultaneously 6, 16, and millions of years old.

🌺- Do they have any love interest(s)?

In the book within a book, Desert Reign, she is in a love triangle with a captive prince named Ramades and a commoner named Amneris. However, neither of them show up in Dream Quest and she has no desire to meet them. Her primary love interest is Henry Sinclair, though she has not expressed romantic interest in him yet.

🍕 - What is their favorite food?

The local style of bread in Kar Zippar is a sort of sourdough flatbread cooked in a wood burning tannour oven. Ayane likes hers with herb butter.

💼 - What do they do for a living?

Ayane is a court musician owned by the villainous Lord Ordog. One may think "that's similar to Kotone," and it's intentional. I wanted to reference my own work in Dream Quest without actually making it a crossover, as I felt that would cheapen the image of Water Maiden. Ayane is the Kotone at home. The shadow on the cave wall

🎹 - Do they have any hobbies?

Mainly she enjoys dreamwalking with Henry, that is, traveling through the dreamlands and having adventures. She is starting to get into guitar.

She is a most talented harpist. Unfortunately she hates it.

Many of her memories from the events of Desert Reign are tainted; thinking about them causes her to doom spiral into existentialism. Her current favorite memory is attending a fair with Henry in The Wald, the fairytale dream marble.

✂️ - What is one of your OC’s worst memories?

When her dream marble was taken over by the villainous Ghun, her ownership transferred to him. He spent quite a bit of time tormenting her by telling her about the true nature of her reality and dropping hints that he would sell her to a fan.

🧊 - Is their current design the first one?

Her first design was Kotone lmao. Currently she wears elegant robes but my vision for her final design includes some modern clothes as she spends more time in the real world.

It's hard to say. Dream Quest just kind of sprang into my head fully formed.

Political fantasy, which is what Desert Reign was.

She is a cis girl and possibly bi.

Only child, as far s she knows.

She only knew her mother, who taught her to play. They were very close, being foreigners brought to Kar Zippar from a distant land after the fall of their own kingdom. Ayane's mother taught her about her own culture and made her clothes for her, working as the royal seamstress until her death some years before the beginning of the story.

I like how she took on a life of her own.

I have written Ayane fairly recently as I wrote a couple new chapters for Dream Quest prior to posting online.

who knows - maybe after i finish this story ill write a book 🤷🏼‍♀️ i think once i get thru this, i’ll have the confidence to flesh out my own world and characters without the crutch of using ones that already exist & people already know & love. we shall see
