It's been literal years, but I still remember Jakey Jr. 😭 Honestly, I always thought that episode was super sweet and that Jr.'s design was already so perfect! He might have suffered carbon copy syndrome with Jake a bit, but there were details that set him apart that I really liked - Jr. is taller and his face is less squarish, and his haircut was pretty rad. And the detail that I always privately imagined was him with blue dragon-silverish eyes. 😰 I'm sure I wasn't the only one who thought that those details Jake imagined were inherited from Rose (tall, more rounder face, just overall cool lol).

Also, I really don't know why but I was always curious why Jake imagined Jr. in surfer get up? During the episode, neither Jake nor his Dad did any surfing, but for some reason Jake specifically imagined his own kid in a wetsuit. Dunno, I really thought it was a neat detail, for some reason.

dude the way those were my introductions too (plus young justice)!!! i also refused comics in the beginning lol. first, disregard titans as a whole. i loved the show when i knew nothing of the batfam and dc in general but now that i do, i remember how wrong it was on so many parts.

i'm just going to do fic recs that i read and that i think helped me better understand some characters and then at the end i will add a 'quick' background on the 'lesser known' bats (duke, cass, and steph).

my opinion: okay i love love love this one. it includes every 'major' batfam member save for barbara gordon (so really just the one's considered bruces kids + steph). i think this one has extremely accurate characterization, it’s jason todd-centric but includes a good amount of everyone else.

my opinion: i actually just read this during the 12 hour tik tok ban and this is so good. it's dick centric and is just how random people who've met him in passing perceive him. i love it so much. there's still one chapter left to be written, but since the last time it was updated was 2019, i don't think it'll be updated lol. but, i think the last chapter isn't really needed

my opinion: okay, honestly i haven't rad this in forever--a reread is long overdo--but i remember enjoying this. this one is on the longer side, nearly 25k words. i feel like a majority of people in this fandom have read this, in 2023 i could not go anywhere without being recommended this. i'm pretty sure this started me into my jason and tim as a duo spiral, which i have since left because i now really believe that tim and jason would lowkey be beefing non-stop but like in a brotherly way? which most fics surrounding them don't quite capture in the way i want, idk i'm picky lol.

but yeah. this fic=good for new fandom people.

my opinion: this one's a crossover but i love how it shows dicks relationship with his siblings, wally, and bruce. slades in here and so because of that theres implied sexual assault. the author has warnings on every chapter. i wouldn't read if you're not familiar with criminal minds though, it'll be really confusing

my opinion: i recommend this entire series, omg it's so unbelievably funny and good. great duke and damian bonding, great duke representation overall, and it also introduced me to the idea of duke hating dick and cass and jason just straight up beefing all the time which makes so much fucking sense. if you read anything on this list PLEASE read this.

my opinion: by far one of the best tim and damian bonding things i read. it's 176k words so it doesn't make them bonding so straight forward, yk? not the usual 'they're both secretly jealous of each other' thing (which i lowkey love like i eat that shit up ngl), it's more complex. more 'i love you cause you're my brother, but i don't like you' which evolves into 'you're the only one around for me now' which turns into 'you're my favorite, please don't leave me.' i sob every time i read this story, it's so fucking heartbreaking. the other works in the exiled robins series are good but not needed to understand life happens.

my opinion: i remember vaguely reading this when i first joined the fandom and loving it so much, it was my first introduction to jason and dick's relationship as brother that i thought actually made sense. if you like this one, check out Kieron_Duibhir's account, they're a really good author.

my opinion: i did not read the other works in this series and i understood everything. this has tim and damian bonding which i will always look for, i'm pretty sure i stumbled upon this christmas of 2023 and i have loved it ever since.

quick background (as promised):

since your introduction was through DCEU and titans, im assuming you have no clue who duke thomas, cassandra cain, and stephanie brown are. duke is bruce’s latest foster kid, he’s black, his parents were rendered insane because of joker, he’s the vigilante signal, and he’s often forgotten by lots of the fandom. cassandra is one of bruce’s adopted kids (i believe) she came after tim but she’s jason’s age. she’s the daughter of lady shiva and david cain. typically she’s depicted as mute in fanon, but in comics she can speak her english is just very broken. depending on the fic, cass will be either one of those three vigilantes: batgirl, black bat, or orphan. stephanie isn’t bruce’s kid, she’s kind of an honorary kid though. she used to date tim but they’ve broken up in comics (tim is bi and dating bernard, as seen in the titans show), many people have her date cassandra. it’s a VERY popular ship in the batfam fandom, i think. stephanie is the vigilante spoiler though she was previously the vigilante batgirl and the only girl robin.

batgirl and robin are passed down. all the (main) robins in order are: dick, jason, tim, stephanie, then back to tim, and then damian (im pretty sure tim is robin in comics rn alongside damian but most fics have him as red robin). some people include maps in that but i normally don’t. batgirl has only three: barbara gordon, cassandra cain, and stephanie brown. then there’s also tiffany fox, who im pretty sure is said to be batgirl in the future? i’ve yet to see her in many fics and i think i read one comic that had her but that was forever ago.

Companion's Comfort Foods

(I didn't include Ada and Codsworth cause they don't eat)

Cait: Cait's comfort food is cottage pie (which is shepards pie with beef instead of lamb). It was on the food rotation at the combat zone before the raiders took over and it brings back good memories of her first few years of freedom. Cottage pie and a beer is a good supper for her.

Curie: A bowl of sugarbombs. It was the first meal she had after she got turned into a synth so she's grown really fond of it. She likes cereal in general so if you sit her down with some and a puzzle, she'll be so happy, though she does like eating while talking to a friend.

Danse: When he was in the BOS it probably would have been coffee seeing as the food really wasn't great. It was pretty much flavorless chicken and mashed tatoes and the thought of it made his stomach churn. A cup of coffee however was guaranteed, and it was good every time. After BB no questions asked his comfort food is beef(brahmin) stew. Sturges makes some flavorful, mouthwatering, downright sinful tasting food and you'll always see Danse first in line whenever it's the stew in particular that's being made. He also likes to dip some cornbread in it, and it isn't uncommon that you'll see him patting his stomach after eating like some midwestern dad.

Deacon: Roasted mutton on fry bread with hot peppers. Deacon was raised on Lake Mead by his mom and grandparents. His grandma was Navajo, so they always had something with fry bread and meat, normally bighorner meat. The mutton became his favorite though. It's a wave of nostalgia every time he takes a bite. He doesn't really have it anymore, partly because of he can't really get it in the commonwealth and partly because even if he makes it, it's never as good as his family makes. A big stupid smile is on his face whenever he manages to get his hands on some. He hasn’t seen his family in years but when he takes a bite, he considers going back for just a minute.

Dogmeat: Dogmeat will eat anything, and he doesn't really have a comfort food. His favorite food though his dried brahmin ears,

Strong: Pre War Strong and Super mutant Strong actually agree in this area, his comfort food is still ribs. Pre-war, he liked dry rub ribs that make your mouth water and stomach grumble when you look at them, he was damn good at making them to cause he learned from his grandad so anytime he made them he thought about him. Now he likes raw brahmin ribs. He isn't picky anymore and doesn't care as long as he eats but if he really concentrates, he can still hear a deep laugh like rolling thunder and smell a hint of spice when he takes a bite.

Preston: Rabbit Stew. Growing up with his auntie on far harbor he ate pretty much everything, mans was a human garbage disposal. However, he had broken his leg when he was 10 and his auntie made him rabbit stew. They sat in the bed and laughed and joked for hours as she told him stories. His big brother even joined them and joked around too. Now every time he makes it, that memory is at the front of his mind, it causes a smile to sit on his face for the rest of the day afterwords.

Piper: Her dad used to make cabbage rolls with corn and rad stag. She still makes it for Nat but when she starts cooking it, she swears she can hear her dad talking her through how to make it for the first time. She doesn't let herself get sad at the memory when she's cooking, she embraces it. She keeps promising to teach nat how to make it but she's kind of swamped with work at the moment, but they have it every week they can afford it.

MacCready: Like danse he also likes stew however his comfort food his mushroom stew. He remembers eating it in Little Lamplight and when he takes a bite suddenly, he's Mayor MacCready sitting with his pals and getting irritated at Princess again. He also thinks of him chatting with lucy, both as kids and adults and gets a comforting sadness for a little afterword but comforting none the less.

Hancock: Him and his brother used to make fruit jam growing up and would sell it in Diamond City market. He still makes the jams now with the help of Daisy and sells them in her store. His mind wanders and he wonders that if things were different between McDonough and him, if they would still make them together. His brother's favorite was the dandy boy apple one so that's his comfort food. Dandy Boy Apple Jam.

Nick Valentine: Coffee. Nick doesn't eat much and human nick really only ate out of necessity. Ellie makes him a cup every morning and they talk before they get to work. Good memories are enjoyed over coffee and that's good enough for Nick.

X6-88: When he was in the institute he liked the coconut nutrition pouches but he wouldn't classify it as a comfort food because he was a machine that didn't need comfort in his or the institutes eyes. Now that he runs around with sole survivor though, his comfort food is braised deathclaw with rice. It's extremely filling, and he thinks of that first night he was assigned to Sole and they made them this. It was one of the first times he seriously considered being something close to human.

Longfellow: Roasted Fog Crawler with black beans and a side of scotch. He cooks well and he actually really enjoys it. Whenever he cooks, he gets peace and peace is comfort. Not to mention the whiskey settles his soul for a bit.

Gage: Spicy Curry. He learned to make this dish originally from his mom and for a while after becoming a raider he didn't touch it again cause of the memories. Eventually though, one night when he wasn't thinking about it, he started taking out the ingredients to make it. Muscle memory is a bitch but he's not going to waste food and when he took that first bite, he heard his mom singing in his brain and telling him to wash up after. It's rare when he does eat it but when he does you might be able to hear him humming as he makes it.

Can you do Obey Me headcanons of a Christian MC? MC isn't a toxic one though, they're actually super nice and supportive of everyone and such. They're also generally really trusting and try and see the best in people. They're more or less just extremely concerned and slightly uncomfortable with the entire being kidnapped and brought to hell thing(and also being forced to attend school again)

They also got really excited when they learned angels were gonna be attending RAD too, so there's that lol

you're a little sad and relieved when he pawns you off to mammon, since you're awed by his presence but also terrified since you knew the part he played in the bible by heart

once you get to know him, the both of you chuckle about human depictions of him and you finally get that picture! be sure to make him sign it and then frame it

Mammon

learns quickly just how many copies of the bible you own once he spends enough time in your room including but not limited to the version on your phone, the mini version in your RAD bag, and the one you keep on your side table

once you get to the stage of basically living together, he learns that you read the bible and say a prayer nightly

at first, he was nervous having to be the one to guide you but he learnt you were probably more scared of him, and you were actually just so sweet

he jokingly picks up all of the jesus merch he finds so now you have an entire shelf

the most normal out of the brothers besides the fact that he spends all his time in his room, but that kind of reminds you of a brother you only see like once a day

it's almost scary and a little jarring walking into his room, but after that, you guys get along so well

he admits that he thought the exchange program was weird, and it was all history after that

highkey fuming about the fact that humans don't know that he and lucifer are different (he for sure smashed up an entire room of the house)

"I'll look over the classrooms once more." Barbatos sighed. "Maybe she fell asleep tired like she does in the library sometimes."

"Yes I'll go check there just for good measure." Satan shook his head.

"MC was supposed to go visit HOL with you wasn't she?" Simeon turned to Solomon.

"Well yes we were supposed to head there after this class- wait, do you hear something?" Solomon inched towards one of the empty classrooms. The rest of them followed.

Not one of them was expecting to see what they did. Their precious MC laid down on the teacher's desk with her shirt practically ripped off her and skirt hiked all the way up to the waist and panties pushed to the side.

"Thirteen..please..." You whimpered and begged underneath the reaper. She looked like she wanted to eat you whole.

"Please what, cupcake?" Thirteen smirked latching her lips to your neck as her pretty fingers plunged into your leaking hole again. You convulsed against her, moaning and clinging onto her arms.

"..too much..." You barely managed to string two words in this mindless state. She had been toying with you for an hour now, determined not to let you leave.

"Use your words, MC." She trailed a thumb over your trembling lips and down your neck and collarbone. "Else I cannot possibly help you, you know?"

"And who knows I might make things worse?"

"Thirteen! Ahh~" You moaned as she caught you off-guard with her thumb pressing down on your puffed up clit.

Satan and Simeon fall back, scrambling to get back their usual composure. The bulges in their pants are a dead give away as where they were looking the whole time. Even as you try to cover yourself up, you know they've already seen too much.

"Why you- you! How dare you!" Satan musters through unsettled breaths. He's not okay in the slightest. All he feels like doing is ripping Thirteen apart from you like an expired bandaid and lay himself down on you.

"Is a classroom really a place to be doing all this?!" Simeon smiles with gritted teeth. The nerve to just toy with an angel's will like this - to show such an irresistible side of his one temptation.

"Indeed. It is most inappropriate Thirteen. It seems I'll have to put you in detention again, please pack your things." Barbatos pretended to fix his glove as his fist tightened.

"Apologies Thirteen, I think it's almost time for another lesson with my apprentice so it's better if you get off then now." He smiled all the while a vein popped in his neck as he held out his hand to you.

Thirteen rolled her eyes, still holding you close. "Please as if you could ever pleasure MC the way I do. This cutie deserves way better than what you lot have got." She palmed your behind and gave it a gentle squeeze while smirking, watching the men fume silently in jealous rage.

"Thirteen. Detention room. Now please." Barbatos warned again. "Ugh. Demons." She pressed a sloppy kiss against your lips, before she left. "Don't worry, I'll catch you later, cupcake."

Barbatos was planning to put you in an entirely different detention room, somewhere in his quarters at the Demon Lord's Castle. Silk ropes and his ungloved hands awaited you there as he pulled you into the din lit room.

Simeon had lost all sense of personal space. He wasn't allowed you to have you in the way the others could. But there are so many ways to pleasure humans after all. His eager fingers and needy whispers had you begging for more.

Satan pounced on you at any opportunity he got. Against the bookshelves in his room, in secluded corners of the RAD library, even in a hidden alley on the way to HOL. He wouldn't stop until muffled screams slipped through your suppressed voice.

Ena’s hands are shaking as she takes the letter from the Shibuya art contest up to her room. It’s just like last year, but this time, she’s way better. She’s been practicing more, getting tips from her dad, doing art in all sorts of contexts, actually going to class?

Ena collapses onto her bed. All that practice, and still? She’s still not good enough? A whole year later and she still didn’t place? She’ll… really never be good enough, will she?

There’s a soft knock on her door. God, it’s Dad again, probably. He knew she was entering, said he hoped she won something, but it’s the same as last year all over again.

Akito’s voice comes through the door. “Ena? I’m gonna come in. Don’t throw anything.”

Ena doesn’t even have the strength to yell at him when he barges in, and he doesn’t say anything either, just sits down next to her on the bed.

Akito grabs the letter out of her hand. “So, didn’t win anything?”

“You don’t sound surprised.”

“Well, we figured if you won you’d already be downstairs bragging about it. Dad wanted to give you a pep talk, but Mom talked him out of it.”

“I don’t think he knows how pep talks work,” Ena says, but her heart isn’t in it. “What are you doing here?”

“Hey, you remember that Tono guy?”

Ena rolls her eyes. “Yes, I remember that you happened to bump into the half-brother we never knew about.”

“I never told you how we met though.”

“Something something singing, something something?”

Akito flicks her on the forehead. “Nah, actually he kicked our asses in a battle. He was so far ahead of us at that point, I couldn’t take it. I went into training mode, nonstop, like I used to do with soccer.”

“Running laps and stuff?”

“That, doing a lot of solo practice, doing more solo shows, not getting enough sleep, making everyone who knew me deeply concerned for my health, almost collapsed a couple of times, you know how it is.”

“Right,” Ena says. “But your friends told you to stop being an idiot?”

“They did, but before I admitted they were right, I rematched Tono, and you know what happened?” Akito laughs. “He kicked my ass again. He called it a tie but no matter how much I practiced he still wiped the floor with me, and everyone knew it.”

“So, is that your point?” Ena asks. “That we both suck and practicing doesn’t help?”

“What I’m trying to say is I got past it because I had my team to help me. And at the end of the day, we surpassed RAD WEEKEND, and that never would have happened if I gave up after that second battle.”

Ena closes her eyes and leans on his shoulder. “How’d you get past it? Seeing the wall and instead of thinking about how tall it is, start thinking about how to get over it?”

“Support from my friends, knowing I couldn’t spend forever wallowing,” Akito says, “seeing my big sister get back into art after losing an art contest.”

“Liar.”

“Hey, we live in the same house and you pretty much work here, it’s hard not to remember what goes on in your life.”

Ena manages a weak laugh. “Yeah, ok. I guess you’re right. I mean if you can do it, I certainly can.”

“Yep.”

“Think if I still look sad enough Dad will buy us takeout for dinner?”

“Only way to find out is to go downstairs and talk to him.”

“Yeah, yeah ok.” And Ena gets up, and starts moving forward.

Oh, and I know Ladybug told you your dad sacrificed himself like a hero, but I was lying, yeah I was Ladybug the entire time . I fought with your dad in the mansion in what was basically a cage match at this point and found out where he was keeping your mom, buuut he got the cat and ladybug Miraculous from me and begged me not to tell you who he was as part of his final words before he died with your mom, but then again , he was going to die anyway from Cat Noir's cataclysm, you should have seen it, the guys body was literally crumbling and throwing up coal and ash, he was in the worst kind of pain imaginable, but that has nothing to do with you so your good. So yeah, he made his wish and had the entire universe destroyed and rebuilt so he could give you the life your mom wanted, but no one but me knew that, until I told you that is. I wasn't going to tell you this cause I thought it would be to much for you and cause I didn't want to totally ruin your entire now peaceful and happy life where your finally allowed to be free, have all your close friends and family, and think your dad was not a complete monster. Aw dude, thanks for asking me something actually interesting, I'm more than just the world's best looking kidnap victim.

I still do photography, I mainly focus on bands and venues now. I get to go to a lot of shows for free because my shots get used for promotional shit like flyers and album art, which is pretty neat. The cash doesn't hurt either lol. I totally consider photography to be an art form if it's done right, but it's pretty easy to tell the difference between someone who cares about the craft vs some rich yuppie who thinks they can buy talent with some expensive camera.

My favourite song right now is private eye by alkaline trio, I always find myself listening to them in the winter months for some reason. I actually splashed out and got myself a cd walkman not long ago. It's pretty bulky, so I think I prefer my cassette player in that regard, but it's still good. The audio is a lot more crisp on it, which is a plus when you live in a noisy city. I think punk music has to be my favourite genre, I'm big on the damned, dead kennedys and the clash, but there's a special place in my heart for pitbull daycare, even though that's not really punk. I used to listen to them in high school because it pissed my dad off lmao. Good times.

I'm neutral about rocks. I think the most I've ever thought about them was when I was a kid, I used to huck rocks at trains with my buddy Scott. Not sure why we did that, but it kept us entertained.

I've actually got a newfound appreciation for bugs. The use to freak me out kinda, but when I was trapped in that bathroom there was this spider that had a Web on the pipe I was attached to. I was down there for a few days, and I actually caught myself chatting to the spider just to pass the time. I definitely lost my marbles down there, but it was nice to know I wasn't completely alone.

I googled that rubber duck isopod, and he's a funny looking little guy. I think that's one of the nicer animals I've been compared to in my life, my dad always said I reminded him of a horse- well, part of a horse anyway lmao.

Ants are cool, as long as they don't gather in my apartment. Had an ant infestation one time and it took my asshole landlord like three months to actually do anything about it.

Mammon

After just barely managing to do the tests that he sort of studied for, he almost missed the fact that you seemed a bit off

I probably would have enjoyed it a lil more if I knew anything abt Ghost or the other riders, but thankfully this was mostly an ex-aid movie ft. others so it didn't dampen the viewing experience all that much. I liked seeing Tanahashi for the whole 2 minutes of screentime he got, the slingblade to Drive was sick as fuck. Plentiful Emu ryona as well; slightly less graphic than when Asakura shoved light tube glass into his eyeballs but still pretty brutal! And hot! What else uhhh the actor playing Takeru is really handsome in a slightly off putting way. His suit is kinda uggo tho, shame.
