yandere! mother! narcissa malfoy & gn! malfoy! reader
just some quick lil headcanons for you guys since i’m jetlagged as fuck 🥲👍
(also, anon, yes i do have your request! dw, tumblr did not eat it :D )
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
let’s say the darling is younger than draco, by a fairly significant amount. maybe three or four years
as the baby of the family, you get all of the malfoys’ overprotective behaviors
lucius is definitely overprotective, yes, but he’s always just sort of distant in nature, so it never comes off as oppressive as narcissa’s
but if you got your heart broken hoooo boy, the poor sap better start writing their last will and testament
(that is, assuming narcissa or your brother didn’t already get to them first 😬)
((although let’s be honest, you wouldn’t be allowed to pursue any romantic relationships. a partner might try to take narcissa’s darling away from her, and we can’t have that))
from the time you were born, you had always been narcissa’s darling
she wouldn’t let anyone else hold you, because what if her darling started liking lucius or auntie bella more than her? no no, we can’t have that
you two were practically attached at the hip. so much so, that she rarely even let you play with your brother
if you were hanging out with draco, then you weren’t hanging out with her, and that was An Issue™
up until you were maybe… five or so, your bed was in narcissa’s room
(which wasn’t a problem. look at that dysfunctional family and tell me lucius and narcissa don’t have a sleep-in-different-beds situation going on)
narcissa was having a tea party? you were in her lap or playing with your toys on the floor at her feet.
narcissa went shopping? no no, lucius. really, it isn’t a problem. y/n loves going shopping with me, isn’t that right dear?
narcissa was seeing draco off as he boarded the express for his first year? well, first he was going to have to hug his little sibling goodbye. but not for too long, narcissa hates when other people touch her darling.
narcissa saw her toddler darling wave to another wizard child across the street? she’ll buy you everything: candy, toys, books, whatever she perceives you as needing in order to stay by her side. just don’t expect to be allowed outdoors for a while.
some of narcissa’s friends come to visit? oh yes, this is y/n, say hi, dear. no, they’re very sick right now and must stay in their room, the poor thing.
she definitely dresses you up in outfits that are matching or complimentary to hers
you’re really just like a possession, in her mind. you’re a thing to be owned, something to sit still and look cute, rather than a living breathing human child
now, hogwarts. hogwarts is tough.
given you and your brother’s age difference, you should be entering your first year at about the same time as the dark lord returns.
this is great news for your mother
she now has a plausible excuse for homeschooling you. oh, no, my husband and i are just so worried, given the state of things.
(if anyone asks why they don’t homeschool both of their children, narcissa’s lips will thin into a straight line, and her top lip will curl back into a sneer. it’s so unsettling to see that people just drop the question.)
she has the house elves make you your favorites every day for meals, all while sighing about how the house elves at hogwarts won’t ever make you these, it’s such a shame.
by the time the next year rolls around and you can go to school, your mother only does so because of the dark lord’s newfound residence inside malfoy manor.
she is Not Happy™.
draco is overjoyed. now he has a chance to be around his darling little sibling without his pesky mother in the way
as a prefect, he has his own private dorm room. he pulls a few heartstrings, really, professor mcgonagall, i’m just worried about my sibling leaving my sight, especially in these uncertain times, and convinces the staff to let you move in.
draco’s friends try to sit with you both on the train, but that does not go well
“hey, little malfoy. i don’t think we’ve officially met yet.”
“nott, if you don’t stop looking at my y/n, i’ll rip out your eyes myself.”
so basically, you’re fucked! 👍😆👍🌈✨💖

hey hey, welcome to the first official post on this blog!
First order of business: updated refs for the cast! Starting with what I've been calling the "Main Quintet," or just the core cast of kid characters. I'll be posting a couple more of these bios to tide everyone over while I plan out the next comic.
Massive dump of information incoming:
- Ben Krupp takes the main character spot for this AU. Like mainverse Krupp, he's kind of grouchy and impatient and likes to stick to the rules, but there's meant to be a feeling of.... performance to it in this AU. He's had to take on a lot of new responsibilities in the family after losing his dad a few months ago and it's resulted in him feeling like he has to give up his childhood and be Mature™ now. The kid's stressed.
- Despite this, though, he still secretly holds on to his love of the Captain Underpants comics. He sees the fictional hero as a role model of sorts, the kind of person he wants to aspire to be. His attempts to be that kind of person, though, usually tend to fall a little flat....
- Design note: Ben's main color motif is green, but the bits of red are there as a nod to Cap's color motif. Ben may not actually be Cap in this AU, but I still wanted there to be a physical link between the two.
- Jasper Krupp is Ben's younger brother, the middle child of the Krupp family, and the glue that holds this whole group together. Unlike his brother, Jasper is a lot more open and friendly, and a lot more trusting and empathetic. He's a sweet kid, but like his brother, there's a hint of performance to his behavior, too.....
- Design note: the majority of Jasper's character in this AU is based off of my personal headcanons for Jasper, since he's pretty much a blank slate of a character otherwise. Canon is but putty in my hands etc. etc.
- Toilette Ree and his younger brother Lavatore are the new kids in town, having moved from Quebec to Piqua over the summer. It's been.... hard adjusting to the move. The other kids at Jerome Horwitz haven't exactly been making it easy for them, either. But hey, that's why they've got each other!
- Toilette is the more rowdy and confrontational of the two, but mostly when it comes to defending his brother. When he cools off he likes to put on this snarky, cooler-than-you attitude to make himself seem more formidable than his tiny frame would suggest. It.... doesn't really work all that well.
- In his spare time, he has a budding interest in engineering
- Lavatore, by contrast, comes off as the more timid, less aggressive brother, but that's only because he has a tendency to fall back on Toilette whenever the two of them are in trouble. When he's not struggling to survive third grade, Lavatore's actually a pretty nice, chill kid, with a surprising rebellious streak to his personality that comes out whenever he's emboldened enough.
- Design note: Toilette and Lavatore have the same color motifs as Ben and Jasper (green/blue). This is only partially accidental on my part.
- Design note: Toilette's hair curl is essential
- Edith (they never caught her last name) rounds out the core cast as Ben and Jasper's closest (and only) friend. A quiet, painfully shy girl, Edith has a hard time fitting in with the other kids at Jerome Horwitz Elementary, not that she isn't trying. Sometimes she can't help but think that the other kids can just tell that she's different, somehow....
- In her free time, Edith has a huge passion for baking. She likes to share whatever she makes at home with Ben and Jasper, her self-proclaimed biggest fans.
- Design note: Edith's color palette is an inversion of her mainverse counterpart's colors—mainly yellow with red highlights instead of mainly red with yellow highlights
#all there in the manual#(this tag indicates important info regarding the au)#(i chose it because i am a huge autistic nerd for tvtropes)

hiiii <3
how would you write itzy in high school as reader’s classmate but smutty…? just curious
Itzy headcanon: them as reader's classmate (smut version)
Requests are open
Hello! This was one of the most recent requests, but the moment I read it, I couldn't stop to think about it. So I hope you like it and thank you for requesting❤️
Classmate!Itzy X Student!GN!Reader
Yeji
You and Yeji are so close since you were child
And you have been in the same classroom since you have memory
But did this stop you two from having sex with each other? Absolutely not
Even the teachers know that you two are quit touchy with the other one, but they think in an a cute way
Actually you can't stop from roughly fuck
During the break for example
Hiding in the first empty spot, like the toilette or the storage room
Luckily nobody has heard you yet
Despite Yeji's moan being so loud
And your "study sessions" at Yeji's house?
When it's over, she can't take you to the door because she has difficulty to walk
You will go to the same college for sure
Lia
The rich girl™ in your class
Always so fancy in her outfit and behavior
What a surprise was for you to know that's she's the biggest sub
You two didn't even talk before your teacher gave you a research to do together
You expected an hard time, but actually you two had great chemistry
So you finished the task in no time
She decided to thank you for your help using her mouth
You badmouthing in the meanwhile made her so wet
So she couldn't help to finger hismelf while giving you pleasure
Now for you two it's a nice routine to have oral sex during the long days at school
Ryujin
How to describe Ryujin from your classroom?
You didn't know her well, but she always was sarcastic, cold and heedless of the rules
One day you were very late, so you couldn't enter for the first lesson of the day
While waiting, out of nowhere she approched you
"Yo, do you want to skip school with me?"
You discovered a whole new side of her: she was actually really nice as person and friend
Though more then friends, you two became fuck buddies
In fact at the end of that day she was on top, riding you like crazy
Of course she's a dom
And from that day your average of absences grew a lot lol
Chaeryeong
Chaeryeong has always been the most shy girl in your class
Always with her in head in the clouds or spacing out
And you always wondered what she was thinking about
Well, surprisingly the answer was having sex with you
You discovered it when during P.E. lesson she was looking at you like you were on fire
At one certain point she was missing
So you decided to go looking for her
And you found her in the storage room...masturbating
She was so immersed in her fantasy, that she didn't notice you were there watching her while she was screaming your name
"Do you need help maybe?"
She gasped so hard, but still accepted your proposal
So you fucked like rabbit on the playmat, making it really wet
And from that day P.E. is yours favourite lesson of the week
Yuna
Actually she's not your classmate, being one year younger
But you obviously know her because she's one of the most popular girl in the school
What surprised you it's that SHE knows you
In fact one day she sits next to you in the canteen, out of nowhere
Asking you to help her study for a test, given that you had the same teacher
So that afternoon you met in the library of the city
And that's when she started her game with you
Sitting on you to grind on your tighs
Bending over to "accidentally" show you her panties, under her way too short skirt
She even bited your earlobe, making you lose it
You ordered her to bend over your knees
You slapped her ass until she basically begged to take her pussy
You didn't hesitate to insert your fingers inside her
From that day she's basically your pet in school
Being super sweet and nice during the day to make you fuck her good at the end

*crashes helicopter, then exits and runs towards you* more on your internsona!!!!!! NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Here is the lore™ of my Dramasona as Chris's intern
Full name: Katerina Valiente Torres Lejonagoitia (KV for the friends)
She is 22 years old
Born in Venezuela and moved to Canada to work with Chris
Tdha
She loves animals almost as much as reading mlm fanfics of her favorite characters.
She is super skilled at repairing things (since when she was a child she always broke them/Disassembled everything she had within her reach)
Due to her lack of friends during her childhood, she spent time with animals either taking care of them or feeding them, she still retains certain animal behaviors (she does them unintentionally)
As much as she complains about her job, she actually loves working for Chris and Chef, she just doesn't say it out loud so that no other interns judge her.
Actually she met Chris and Chef in person when she was younger, they had a trip through parts of Latin America and their car failed, before they could call a mechanic Kv was passing by and he repaired the engine in less than 5 minutes , Chris left her his card and told her that if he ever needed a job in Canada to call
She is randomness made person
She has the peculiarity of walking very silently but it is difficult for her to modulate the volume of her voice.
She also has a sixth sense that tells her when something is going to go wrong or something bad happened.
#internposting#dramasona#total drama#She is a threat to society but don't say it to her face#she is sensitive.

Love Senior's started airing!!
So here I am, once again, with my usual language observations. Note: I'm going off the YT subs and shall use whatever name romanizations they use there!
Disclaimer: not a native Thai speaker, still learning 🙏
Manaow's older brother Faung's nickname for her because Siblings™
Faung เฟือง /Feuuang/ is shortened from มะเฟือง /Ma Feuuang/ = star fruit
Manaow มะนาว /Ma Nao/ = lime
( ไอ้)หมาเน่า /(ai) maa nao/ = (You) rotten dog -> as you can see from my basic-ass pronunciation guide, it sounds close to her actual name -> หมาหัวเน่า /maa huaa nao/, lit. rotten-headed dog, is an idiomatic expression for an outcast, someone who's disliked and has no friends - lol thanks P'Faung!
Gyoza's red Vespa
it's called (เจ้า)หมูแดง /(jao) moo daaeng/
เจ้า /jao/ = used affectionately as a prefix by seniors for children or juniors, as well as by owners for pets
หมูแดง /moo daaeng/ = lit. red pork; grilled marinated pork dish of Chinese origin
What to call each other
Gyoza, who's been calling herself พี่ /Phi/ and who Manaow has been referring to as พี่เกี๊ยว /Phi Giao/ (because she's a senior a year ahead of her), suggests that when it's just the two of them, Nao doesn't have to call her พี่ /Phi/, and starts referring to herself just by name, เกี๊ยว /Giao/ (her full name Gyoza is เกี๊ยวซ่า /Giao Saa/).
Manaow: งั้นเกี๊ยวเกิดเดือนไรอ่ะ /ngan Giao geert deuuan rai a/
So Manaow drops the พี่ /Phi/ right away and starts calling her เกี๊ยว /Giao/.
And just for completeness's sake: Manaow also refers to herself by name (นาว /Nao/) and Gyoza does so reciprocally (mostly นาว /Nao/ and sometimes มะนาว /Ma Nao/). So no pronouns, just names!
จีบ /jeep/ = pursue, court, flirt with (Funnily enough, a homonym of เกี๊ยว /Giao/, which means dumpling, is เกี้ยว /giao/, which also means to flirt, woo, etc. - I'll be waiting for this pun in a future episode lol)
Gyoza's reasoning for asking is that Manaow seems ห้าว ๆ เกินหญิง /haao haao geern ying/ = bold/daring/fierce for a woman
Kudos to Lada shamelessly flirting with Alee and calling him หนู /noo/ (= lit. mouse)!!
เดี๋ยวพี่เลี้ยงหนูนะ /diao Phi liiang Noo na/
As a 2nd person pronoun it's usually used by someone much older to affectionately refer to a child or someone younger, implying that the person referred to is cute and smol like a mouse, basically. In the same vein it can sound patronizing too, though, especially coming from a stranger or someone who isn't much older.
They're the inverse of the shy younger girl and flirty pursuing older guy trope and I love that!
Sulking~
หายงอนแล้วใ่ไหม /haai ngaawn laaeo chai mai/ = You're not sulking anymore, right?
Just in case any potential reader has never seen a Thai series before this GL: 'Ngon' and 'Ngor', as they're often romanized, are a set of behaviors that are common in close relationships. That can be familial or between friends too but it's certainly most common in a romantic context and as a romance trope.
งอน /ngawn/ = sulking, pouting, acting displeased, huffy, slighted, petulant; can be playful or serious
ง้อ /ngaaw/ = reconcile, make up with; this can be lots of things tbh, i.e. hugging, apologizing, giving sth. to show care like Manaow does here, etc.
Flirty Puns, my beloved!
กินเกี๊ยวไหม /gin giao mai/ = Wanna eat the dumpling?
GIN GIAO MAI DJSDHSDJDSH okay now that that's out of my system- As we've established, Gyoza refers to herself as เกี๊ยว /Giao/, which means dumpling. And กิน /gin/ means consume, take, exploit, it's mostly used with food and drink though, hence it generally being translated as 'eat'. So:
กินเกี๊ยวไหม /gin Giao mai/ = Wanna eat me?
Sidenote: this specific dumpling here is เกี๊ยวทอด /giao thaawt/ = fried wonton/dumpling
#love senior the series#love senior#พี่ว้ากคะ รักหนูได้มั้ย#thai gl#local woman harps on about linguistics#this show is so fun and tropey! and it's in such high quality resolution!! ... i'm totally not side-eyeing gmmtv here or anything ehem#local woman harps on about love senior

[ The following i wrote on a different post that no one saw so i'm just adding it here]
Zoey’s family life is mostly like canon with some differences.
like i said before Zoey was always kept in check by the alpha bitches in her life. she’s never been in charge of anything
zoey’s mom had her first daughter, then Zoey, married and divorced all within the first five years after high school and the three lived off and on with her parents on their lavender farm until hooking up with her second husband, an religious man, and i struggled to believe a guy like jeb would be perfectly ok with raising someone else's kids and not having his own child so for this, kevin is jeb and linda's son and zoey and her sister may be full sister or half sisters.
Zoey’s mom was a lot like Zoey; self-entitled, judgemental, etc but she got a harsh reality check. I don’t think I should drastically change much about Linda and Jeb, mostly like flesh out their background, and show some growth. At the start, Linda is convinced that her situation is her happy ending after struggling for so long; the importance of this is to explain the reason Zoey is like that™ is not the main character/author’s Expy but it’s a product of learned behavior and being spoiled by her grandparents.
Q: Why is zoey’s sister barely acknowledged? I thought the siblings were just set dressing but the younger brother has a major role in the new series but was never mentioned past the first book. justice for Zoey’s sister. She doesn’t even have a page on the wiki. also, would a teenager/ young adult go by Barbara/Barbie in the early 00s? I don’t think so but I can’t think of a time-accurate name that would be better? barbara doesn’t fit in with zoey and Kevin.
aphrodite’s human was Bethany Rose Lafont, no her dad’s not the mayor, real estate guy, and the mom comes from old money.
i gotta add to this when it pops out of my queue.
To explain why barbara is not in the picture is she’s at college. it’s not ever explained how much older barbara is compared to Zoey, it think it’s implied to be a year apart with Zoey a junior and the sister a senior.
next update, i will talk about my plans on what to do with the love interests
tell me about your HON rewrite
Uhhh, this is so much longer that i was expecting it to be and not cohesive.
some pretext about what happens before Zoey shows up. Nerefet is the big bad of the series. rather than being this major powerhouse that everyone is in awe of, she's this overzealous social climber that was banished from high vampire society and is slowly building up power to take everyone down and take what she considers her true place, the ruler of all vampires.
Aphrodite was her most recent pet project after the last one died on her.
Aphrodite was a major vampire nerd before being turned into, a menace in every vampire forum, studying everything publicly known about vampire culture, you get the picture. but it worked out.; in vampire society, she has been making a name for herself.
The important thing here is that Nererfet only cares about being the most powerful and at the start of the rewrite that's vampires. once she discovers something better, she will sell out the entire vampire race to get something greater. Aphrodite actually cares a lot about vampires and vampire society. and once she figures out nerefet isn't as devoted she wants to annihilate her for that
zoey is the perfect replacement.
zoey is fucking dumbass; she's sorta a heather duke/Starscream; always been kept mostly in check by a queen bee (her mom, her older sister, and her friend Kayla) is constantly trying to be the head bitch but the second she gets a bit of power, she can't handle it. so in this zoey's not so much mary sue, she is just not considered a threat compared to other characters so she gets to glide by while in house of night. she will not let go of any sort of power for love or money and will take everyone down with her.
so we have; gaslight, gatekeep, girlboss: vampire edition, and these three are the most powerful spirit users in centuries.
everyone else in vampire society: why tf are we stuck with them?
other than these three let's talk about zoey's friends.
stevie rae is the most reluctant about becoming vampire; of all the nerd herd she is the most put together before being turned; meaning she'll be the one going through it the most. she's desperately holding on to her humanity.
the twins, their gimmick was paper thin, made no sense, and fucking stupid, so now they're actual twins with Erin being albino. Erin is not part of the herd; she's part of Aphrodite's crew here. she's been alienated most of her life from her albinism, kids are cruel and she's always got called a vampire; it got worse in high school. so when the opportunity to be a creature of the night came up she jumped on it.
Shaunee's been told to look out for her sister for as long as she can remember and being her sister's keeper has colored a lot her personality. the second most reluctant to become a vampire; at the start, she and her sister aren't talking. no one knows that they're twins, just that they got to the school at the same time.
Damien......I don't know. his personality was basically gay™ and the only one who studied for the SATs. here's the tentative plan for Damien; since this takes place during '07 he would have gotten bitten to escape his homophobic parents and maybe he got the idea to be bitten by an online friend/boyfriend.
I'm struggling to figure out how to remove zoey's Cherokee background/ magic; mostly it doesn't make sense, I believe it used to just add a mystical element into the series and I do not feel comfortable touching that.
a little expansion on my part: in the original, there were humans, vampyres, red vampyres, and oc gods, and gods.
in this: vampires, ghouls, damphirs, vampire hunters, and humans, maybe some others.
Stevie Rae still dies in book 2. Book 3, no wait. lemme explain the timeline.
the series og timeline fucking stupid, semi takes place in real-time of the 7 years (2007-2014) that the first books were being published then another 6 books from the end of the original books to the start of the spin-off.
but by the time series is over everyone is about 17. Zoey was 17 for 9 years. I know I really should give a damn about the timeline but that does mean that every single thing that happens in the course of the series happens in a little over a year. and that does bother me.
In this version, book one takes place over the course of 3 months from 10/31 to 12/24, Zoey's birthday
book two is from March to June. etc.
Zoey in og was 16➡17, so she was a sophomore. in this, she's 15➡16, and is the youngest of the group, so her awful self entitled attitude makes more sense.
aphrodite and Erik are 17 so they will be full vampires soon.
oh like I said, Stevie rae still dies but her spirit is still around. Zoey gets attacked by her ghoul self and accidentally fuses stevie rae's spirit and body together and makes her into a damphir. stevie are runs away in the chaos and later we find out not only can she walk in the sun but she has spirit powers in addition to her earth powers and has been turning ghouls into damphirs. they're the same group as the red vampyres. this includes Kramisha, nerefet's former pet project.
she still has the gift of prophecy but not bad poetry. Aphrodite still has her visions. kramisha's gift is limited in information but focused on a target while Aphrodite's vision is overloaded with information but happens randomly.
There's more but this has been sitting in my drafts for months and maybe I'll get more ideas to do something with this

We r family
Mommy. sorry. Mommy. Sorry-
🦨Scorpio children tend to be very clingy.
🦇I don't mean this in a bad way, they tend to get very attached to family members, friends and even objects that bring them comfort
🦨On that note they also really sociable when young. These kids while quiet, always like interacting with others and learning about the world around them
🦨Capricorn children tend to be really reserved. They like to stick to themselves and figure out how things work through observation and trials.
🦇Its not until they being adults they start to loosen up
👩👦👨👧👩👦👨👧👩👦👨👧👩👦👨👧👩👦👨👧👩👦👨👧👩👦👨👧👩👦
🦨Cancer kids, while "close" to their family prefer to learn more about things outside the home and how others home life is as a comparison.
🦨9 times outta ten if a Scorpio, Gemini, Sagittarius or Aquarius child gets really quiet they doing something they know they aren't supposed to
🦨This could be completely wrong, and I'm pretty sure that pica (in children) might be more common to Pisces and Taurus.
🦇Its the psychological comfort of chewing (oral fixation) that takes them a little longer to out grow.
👩👦👨👧👩👦👨👧👩👦👨👧👩👦👨👧👩👦👨👧👩👦👨👧👩👦👨👧👩👦
🦨That being said Venusian children might end up with a long term oral fixation.
Ex Chewing gum, nails, Thumb sucking etc
🦨Virgo kids the type to eat their veggies, yet also hate certain veggies
🦨Virgos might have hypochondriac parents, they care a lot about the wellbeing of their child due to things they've gone through/witnessed
👩👦👨👧👩👦👨👧👩👦👨👧👩👦👨👧👩👦👨👧👩👦👨👧👩👦👨👧👩👦
🦨Taurus children might enjoy watching their family cook and try to help out when they can
🦨I honestly think you grow into your moon sign and live out your rising when younger.
🦇I'm a Pisces rising who: wanted to be a mermaid, had a big head and spent too much time imagining things. Libra moon who likes aesthetic™, thrives in harmony and kinda maybe a flirt (idk that's what others say, I'm just being nice)
🦨Pisces kids have big heads. I'm sorry 😭 you gotta grow into it
👩👦👨👧👩👦👨👧👩👦👨👧👩👦👨👧👩👦👨👧👩👦👨👧👩👦👨👧👩👦
🦨4th house- your moms rising
8th- your dads rising
12th- your grandparents (both sides) energy/ what you have in common with them/also could be linked to the planet that rules both(or one) parents moon sign
🦨I don't think Aries children are naturally competitive or really forward, they learn in order to get what the want they have to be really brash and self focused
🦨Same goes for about every sign they act like the sister sign until they have a life changing experience (more with people around their age/caretakers) then they embody the stereotypes we associate with them
👩👦👨👧👩👦👨👧👩👦👨👧👩👦👨👧👩👦👨👧👩👦👨👧👩👦👨👧👩👦
🦨Having eighth house synastry with a family member is tough, especially parents. This can result in an almost codependent bond between the two. Also constant underlying tension with whatever sign and planets fall there.
🦨Still think 12th is worse because you enable behaviors in each other. With grandparents this isn't as much of a problem due to willingness to change being more prominent
🦨 South Node can also talk about things your family is known for.
🦇Aquarius- Being different from most of their societal peers and starting new traditions. Around when drastic societal changes and upheavals happened
🦇Gemini- New commutative methods or being well known in their local community. Around when new local communities popped up
🦨 North Node is things your generation adds to the family collective. Yes I'm aware not everyone will have the same North Node AND Nodes are collective energy not individual.

🦨I feel like despite what many say Virgo Moons can make really good parents. Its more so the aspects they have to their moon that makes them either more naggy or more sensitive.
🦨Another reason is that kids born now will have a Capricorn Pluto (opposed to the Sag from the current young adults), Virgo and Capricorns energy matches up a lot more than Sag and Virgo. Those kids are more willing to listen and observe situations rather than jump into them and play off consequences.
🦨I also believe Scorpio placements can make great parents. Not only do Scorpios actually really like kids, they understand the world isn't rainbows and butterflies yet independence is something needed.

🦨Sags might be a little too excitable for kids. What do i mean?
🦇Sagittarius, unless a circumstance has happened in which they mature (no offense), tend to act more like teenagers (regardless of age). Having someone who sees life as optimistic or pessimistic isn't healthy for a child. Children need middle ground.
🦇Yes a sag parent would constantly encourage their kid too explore, and sometimes they wouldn't curve behaviors that need to be curved before they become problematic.
🦇All in all they a little to free in terms of parenting and only give advice after they have gone through something themselvess.
🦨Aries parents might work well with younger kids, its when they become teens that issues start to come up.
🦇The clashing ideologies would cause the teen to feel like their parent is trying to limit them while the parent would feel like the kid is trying to grow up too fast or question them as a person.
🦨I think that Saturnian parents get along more with their kids when they are adults. After they have their own responsibilities and have experienced life a bit more. We have to remember Saturn (and Aquarius) are both ruled by time over long distances.
🦨Pisces parents are always active in their child's life, one way or another. They tend to try to keep their family together or at least be present in some way

Ykno what I’m thinking about on this fine day? Sanji. Who is surprised. BUT I was rereading this post by @demonzoro and got to thinking specifically about the “started smoking to make himself seem more mature” thing and how pretending (or being forced by circumstance) to be mature as a child can lead to emotional underdevelopment as an adult.
As an oldest sibling and a former Little Girl with Undiagnosed ADHD™, I was always told I was mature for my age, talked well with adults, was very responsible and self-sufficient, etc. I was by no means forced to be like this, but I understood this was praised behavior so I kept up with it and now look at me lol. So I find myself coming across this problem of emotional maturity occasionally. Emotional maturity is influenced by both your adult mentors and younger peers. And who out of the crew had older siblings, other children as friends, or actual adult figures around who loved them? Most everyone EXCEPT Sanji and Usopp, whose mothers died when they were very young and had almost no other children their age in their life.
BUT TIME OUT: by this logic, am I saying that Luffy is emotionally mature? I guess I am. He’s a goofball and impulsive, sure, but he is the one to bring so many people to these significant moments that realize emotional maturity. He makes Nami ask for help in Arlong Park. He makes Robin say she wants to live. He helps Chopper realize he’s not a monster, and to take a step towards achieving his dream by coming with them. He makes Sanji say what he truly wants and ask for help in Whole Cake AND yells at him at the Baratie (which I mentioned here talking about Sanji’s martyrdom). Not to mention the countless side characters who are inspired by him. OKAY TIME IN.
We clearly see Usopp’s emotional immaturity with his pathological lying and inability to take full responsibility for his mistakes. Though, he wasn’t necessarily robbed of a childhood, he didn’t have figures in his life to teach him about becoming an adult, and his childhood is extended when he didn’t want it to be. He’s not fooling himself, he knows he’s a chicken. And his dream is to become a brave warrior! Usopp’s dream is to leave behind his primary hallmark of emotional immaturity.
Sanji, on the other hand, thinks he’s the epitome of sophisticated manhood, but he is clinging to a childhood he never got to have. We see it when he talks about the All Blue and the way he treats women. Sanji’s dream is to find this fairytale place. And unlike Usopp who as a child lacked adult figures and had plenty of (younger, granted) kids on the island, Sanji lacked other children to be around. His siblings were not normal children, and he spent the whole rest of his youth with grown-ass pirates. To fit in and survive, he had to act mature. But he never learns true maturity. Everything Sanji does is him mimicking how he thinks mature people behave. But he hasn’t learned boundary setting, he hasn’t learned to ask for help, he hasn’t learned to be vulnerable.
(((Also I know Robin had to be mature at a young age as well, but she is 8 years older than the east blue crew so we don’t see her moments of emotional immaturity in the canon storyline. In fact she is likely regarded as the most mature before Jinbe joins. Though one could argue water 7/enies lobby is a demonstration of emotional immaturity from Robin, I think it’s specifically trauma-informed due to the whole Devil Child thing bringing ruin to everyone she ever met until that point. Also Spandam is there and his connection to Ohara/threat of buster call is a bfd. Fic ideas for Robin in her late teens/early twenties struggling with emotions anyone…?)))
————————
Anyway. There’s a point in here somewhere. Sanji is prepared to spend his entire adult life to find this childish fantasy. It could be said that both Usopp and Sanji’s dreams are to obtain what they never had. But the key difference is Usopp is searching for emotional maturity, bravery, because he knows he needs it. Sanji is searching for the childhood he never got and he doesn’t realize he’s missing it.

"quick" rundown of vox and alastor's familial relationships before bed:
vox's parents : two theater actors. had him kind of old. pushed him into becoming a child star at the age of five. did the usual "we're pulling you out of school to tour around the country and making you practice for hours on end with no breaks because it'll make you a harder worker!" routine. made him dance on an injured ankle until permanent damage was done because they didn't wanna cancel any more engagements. guilted him for "losing" his career right before the start of the great depression. when he was younger, he fell for their manipulation tactics but once he got older he was outta there. his experience with them informs how he feels about parenthood in general: if he's not forcing his kids to perform for a crowd with broken limbs or making them feel guilty for not financially providing for the family, then he's a Good Dad™ actually!
vox's wife : married her because she came from a well-connected family and seemed like she'd make an alright wife. she was in love with him at first, he thought she was okay and was just kind of trying to check off what was expected of him. things turned bad once she realized how self-absorbed and disinterested he was. they ended up hating each other, but stayed married because getting divorced would mess up their reputations. she stated using pills to cope, then got hooked on harder stuff as time went on. he lowkey ended up ruining her life indirectly; she was so unhappy and so consumed by her addiction she couldn't even emotionally connect with her kids
vox's son : always kind of knew his dad was an asshole. preferred his mom and it broke his heart to see them screaming at each other and her slowly slipping further into addiction. never felt like he was good enough for vox; they'd go out into the yard once every six months to throw a ball back and forth because That's How You Bond With Your Kids Right? and he'd start telling him his form was off and he needed to do it Like This. resented him for the rest of his life.
vox's daughter : was too young to really understand that he was a bad dad, just that everyone in her family was unhappy all the time. vox found it easier to interact with her than his son for some reason, so would actually be pretty affectionate with her on the rare occasion that he was around. she always had a really idealized version of him in her head which was aggravated by him dying unexpectedly when she was seven. spent the rest of her life in denial that he ever was that bad, even as her brother kept trying to convince her that He Was, Actually.
alastor's father : college student who was spending the summer in new orleans. met his mother, wooed her, and then convinced her to sleep with him by telling her he'd marry her. hopped a train back home as soon as he got what he wanted and was never heard from again. alastor never had a very clear concept of him in his head, he was just too vague an outline to even properly hate.
alastor's mother : he thought she was perfect. she sacrificed so much for him again and again and again, but never resented him for it. she loved him unconditionally and thought he was the brightest little star in the sky. he hid a lot of his red flag behaviors from her, although some things slipped through the cracks. he took her death really hard since it felt so unfair that she should die when those who treated her poorly lived.
alastor's maternal grandparents : helped raise him for the first 6 years of his life. grandfather gave his mother a hard time for having a child out of wedlock and just flat out ignored him most of the time. grandmother was like a second mother to him, although he never saw her again after he and his mother moved out of the bayou.
alastor's "adoptive parents" : mother's cousin was a very sweet lady– she genuinely loved his mother and wanted to do whatever she could to help her. she was good to alastor and he was fond of her, although he never saw her as a mother, only as an auntie. mother's cousin's husband didn't approve of this whole plan, but agreed to it because of his wife's pleading. was always very cold with alastor, looked down on him for being both mixed and illegitimate, and resented having to pretend to be his father. coerced alastor's mother into having an affair with him in order to stay in the house. alastor hated not being able to do anything about that and secretly killed the family dog in retaliation. al eventually smothered him to death while he was in bed with the spanish flu.
Is Alastor aware of Vox’s children - specifically his daughter?
Personally I interpret that Vox was probably a parent who played favorites [unintentional or intentional] and assuming his relationship with his son was likely strained - Vox gave his daughter more attention & affection. Making the memories pop in a bittersweet way.
I could see Alastor being conflicted, depending on if he knew about Vox’s children before he reduced his former friend turned enemy to static. Alastor assuming he was a terrible father [easy assumption because it’s… Vox lol] and feeling so disgusted with a man who already fell into his distaste. We know Alastor’s daddy issues, I can’t imagine him being comfortable with a [absent father at best, neglectful & emotionally abusive father at worst] around unless he were his little plaything.
I can think of so many ways Alastor could torture Vox psychologically with this knowledge. Gaslighting Vox into thinking a porcelain doll is actually his baby, allowing him to get attached to said doll for a while — only to shatter it right in front of him.
“Oh! Well, you can always make a new one! Haha!”
Alastor’s pettiness levels are 100% showing here as the mentality of “replacing the old with the new” that Vox used to spout out constantly is being used — in reference to his “baby”.
Of course Vox is absolutely distraught, feebly sputtering and trying to pick up the broken pieces of the doll before quickly devolving into pure rage.
“I trusted you! She’s my daughter!”
Alastor is merely grinning, laughing even. Right at Vox’s face. Vox is cursing him out using every word in the book, get violent almost immediately - and if any of the hotel residents are there all Hell will break loose.
Alastor could also just say “Oh she’s dead.” Anytime Vox asks where his daughter is… that’s a lot simple than what I just wrote lol.
But yeah neat little scenario I wanted to explore, I absolutely love love love this AU!! Everything is so well-written and thought out! I hope I didn’t write Alastor too evil, or Vox too pathetic(?) :p
- 🐚
OH JEEZ
Yeah, Vox was... not a great dad. He just wasn't around most of the time and saw his role as breadwinner as the only thing he really needed to do in order to be a Good Father™. He loved his kids in his own, self-absorbed way, but just wasn't involved with them in any meaningful way. He was never abusive towards them but still managed to traumatize them just via the constant, vicious fights he would get into with their mother. You're right though, he did prefer Sarah (his younger child) to Thomas (his elder child) quite a bit, and she ended up with far more fond memories of him because of it.
Alastor is vaguely aware that Vox was a father when he was alive, but never felt any desire to delve into that aspect of his life. Vox lowkey compulsively overshares with the people he'd attracted to and Alastor ended up learning a lot more about him than he really wanted to back when they were friends. I'd never thought about how he would feel about what kind of father Vox was though– that's an interesting concept.
My HC backstory for Alastor is that he was born out of wedlock and never knew his biological father. At age 6, he and his mother left his grandparents' house and moved in with his mother's white cousin and her husband, who agreed to pretend Alastor (who was white-passing) was their son in exchange for his mother working as their maid. When Al was 11, he caught a glimpse of his mother having sex with his "adoptive father"– he'd threatened to kick her and Alastor out of the house if she didn't agree to sleep with him. He grew to loathe the man and eventually smothered him to death while he was recovering from the Spanish Flu that had swept through the house and claimed his mother's life.
With that context, I don't think Alastor would begrudge Vox for being a neglectful father that much since he just sort of sucked in a way that most men from that time period sucked. He'd see Vox's memories of his children in a similar way as he sees Vark; irrelevant and harmless, but a weak point he could easily exploit if he felt it was necessary.
The concept of the doll is fucking brutal. Al would probably be aware of how easily Vox projects memories of Sarah onto various people/things since it happens occasionally with Niffty, but I think that'd be a type of torment restricted to when he's feeling especially sadistic for whatever reason. Alastor thinks of himself as having standards, although he's willing to bend on some of them if he feels like it and can think of a good justification. So yeah, basically Vox's kids are off-limits until they're Not anymore.
Thank you for the compliments! I'm glad you're enjoying it! I really appreciate long, elaborate scenarios like this; they give me a chance to talk about so many different things and get me to consider elements that I previously hadn't thought of.

On today's episode of "Spark Puts On Her Clown Nose and Overanalyzes Misfits":
It's no secret that Nathan doesn't view himself as a good person. This doesn't always bother him, he rather likes being "the rebel", but it hurts him in the context of family.
On his Twitter, he says that one of the things he wants to do before he's thirty is make his mum proud and "make up for all the badness" he's done (keep in mind, Nathan is only 20 as he Tweets this) and I think it's incredibly sad that he feels he needs to make up for "badness" he's done as a literal child in a neglectful household.
When he finds that the radio he broke was actually Louise's and not Jeremy's, he tries to defend himself and say he'll buy her another because "that's what sons do for their mothers". He repeats the same defence in season 2 when he feels his ability to teach Jamie anything as an older brother is questioned; no, he can't, but he'll learn to "because that's what brothers do for each other".
Nathan has a very set idea of family roles and what they should be. Fathers are supposed to be around for their sons and provide for everyone. Sons, similarly to fathers, are supposed to care for and protect their mothers, and older siblings should be a guide and protector (almost second father figure?) to their younger siblings. It's interesting to me that Nathan, in Mike's absence, seems to try to fill the father role for Louise and Jamie, and whenever Nathan fails or feels he fails in these areas, he blames himself and tries to find a way to defend his "shortcoming".
Nathan does not care if he's a good person, but he cares a lot about whether or not he's a good son or a good brother. He cares what his family thinks of him and maybe that isn't enough to stop his reckless behavior or to change who he is (Nathan is never going to be anyone but himself), but it is enough to make him feel as though he is "bad". "Bad" for a lot of things he does because he doesn't know how else to tell anyone he's hurting or he's afraid.
I think this is loosely shown, too, when Kelly rejects him and he tells her he can "change". It breaks my heart. Nathan is a kid who believes that if someone doesn't love him—romantic or familial—then it must be because of him and that he needs to be fixed or change in order to be worthy, to be "good".
Nathan is unapologetically himself and wildly alive and confident... But he's also a lot more insecure and has a lot less self-worth than I think he lets on. He can swing from feeling like he's The Shit™ who stands on top of the world, to wondering if there's something fundamentally wrong with him that makes him a failure.
Anyway. That's just what's in my head today about Nathan and I love him and all his contradictions and family issues. It's sad, though, and he deserved more.

This, children, is why it is important for inter-generational friendships to exist. Not because the Adult™ is grooming the child, but because the adult can parent the child when the child's parents aren't suitable.
I read something a very long time ago about the importance of a parental figure that is outside the child's family. There are things children may not be comfortable asking a parent - things about sex, money, drugs, relationships, normal teenage drama, anything really - that they would be more comfortable asking someone they're not related to. Someone with more experience handling life, someone who isn't going to feel obligated to run to the child's parent and rat them out. Someone they will feel will tell them the truth and not just platitudes to make them feel better, or warnings to avoid undesirable but not dangerous behavior. Someone who can be an external reality check in a 'is this right? it does/doesn't feel right' kind of way. Children who grew up with that kind of pseudo-parent tended to be in healthier and more stable relationships, with a lower instance of substance abuse and criminal activity. I wish I could find that article again, and I wish I knew what the real term they used for the pseudo-parent was because it was very well written and made a lot of good points.
There are a lot of people, younger ones mostly it seems, who think that any friendship between an older person and a younger person is inherently wrong and imbalanced. Yes, some older people take advantage of that and cause unspeakable harm, but most of us just want to pass on the shit we've learned about navigating life so you don't have to make the same mistakes. That's it. No strings attached. Well, unless you count maybe explaining the latest meme.
When I was a kid, maybe 14 or so (which is, you know, 20+ years ago), I belonged to a Yahoo! mailing list for an anime called Gundam Wing. It was mostly populated by other teens, of varying ages, as it was started by a teen and her friends. Eventually it migrated, when Yahoo! groups started as forums, and even branched off into non-GW related stuff in a second forum.
One of the things I remember the most clearly is the oldest person in the group. Her name was Steelsong. She was a 40-something Dom with a sub whose name we knew even though we knew nothing else. She ran her own fanfic archive because the web was still handmade HTML and navigated in webrings and I’m pretty sure Google didn’t exist or was only barely, barely launched and not well known. She was kind and patient and we loved her. She treated everyone on the group with the respect given any adult, even though most of the rest of the world was still treating us like we were children. Not teenagers even, but children. She never once condescended to any of us, never made our youth a barrier to her respect, never treated us like we were incapable of being full people or like we were less than her because we were young.
I remember that she hosted our fanfiction, as absolutely terrible as it was (and I still have some of it, I am WELL aware of how cringingly terrible it is, just absolute nonsense garbage), right there alongside of other fic that was soul-achingly beautiful. Not a separate section for her friends or for kids, just right there like we were good enough to feature alongside other authors. I never once received crit from her that I didn’t ask for, only support. Only love. I am still writing today partly because Steel was so kind about our fic, fanfic and original.
I remember that when I started doing clay sculpture, she commissioned a tiny pair of dragons from me, to support me doing artwork. She sent a check my mom cashed for me, and my mom helped me mail it when it was finished. It broke in transit, and Steel assured me that she mended it and that it was still beautiful. It was a small gold dragon curled up with a small silver dragon.
I remember that her patience knew no bounds. I remember that she was there for us, regardless of reason. When we wanted to know silly things like what to do with a single AA battery, she answered. When we had serious questions about sex, she answered. When we had questions about writing, she taught us. When one of our group members, a young gay teen in Australia, ended up in the hospital and then stopped making posts, and we all knew what had happened, she let us talk to her about it because we couldn’t go to our own parents, even though we had just lost a friend.
She was not a replacement to my parents, but she was an extra parent, in some ways. A friend, certainly, but someone that had been through more life than we had and was willing to pass on knowledge if we asked for it. Someone older that we trusted with things that were too uncomfortable to go to our parents or teachers or whatever about, because we already knew she wasn’t going to judge us or something, and that we would get an honest answer.
I don’t know why I’m remembering this so hard tonight, and I’m not sure if there’s a point to sharing this, except that I know she’s gone now. She was ill the last time we spoke, and her site went down a long time ago, and I miss her. She was a huge influence on my life, then and now. She was hope, for me, that life as an adult didn’t have to be boring, it wouldn’t have to mean giving up the things I loved and Becoming Only Responsible With No Fun. Her presence meant I had hope I could still write and play with friends even when I wasn’t ‘a kid’ anymore. And she’s gone, and I miss her, and I wanted to share her from the perspective of youth, and the perspective over twenty years later has provided me.
And I think of her, when people go off about older folks being in fandom with younger folks. I’m an older folks now, or at least middle aged folks because there are certainly folks older than me still, but I wasn’t always. I’ve been here since i was a younger folks, and I know how much Steel’s presence and support meant to me, how much she helped not just me but everyone on that group. And I think of the people saying older folks don’t belong in fandom, and that they shouldn’t interact with younger folks at all, and I just think… I can’t agree. I needed that kind of solid presence in my life back then and even at the age I am now, I need the folks older than me to stay. I want them here.
So I guess, like, if you’re here and you’re 40 or 50 or 60 or 70 or 80 or whatever, I want you here in fandom with me, still. Your presence here is a comfort. It is hope. It is a reminder that life will continue to be fun, even as I get older, myself. And if you’re younger and you have this sort of elder in your groups, I hope that they are like Steel. I hope they are kind and patient and supportive, and that knowing them gives you hope for your own future. I hope in twenty years you look back and remember them fondly.

I’m hiding in my room to avoid Human Communication(tm) so this seemed like a good time to go ahead and solidify Yelkha. As always, Heroforge, imperfect tool, etc.; what she’s actually got is the sides of her head shaved and then the top pulled into a low ponytail behind her, she’s got a notched ear where an angry horse took a chunk out, and one of her tusks is broken. Also, inexplicably, Heroforge lacks a “giant war bull” mount option, so this isn’t her horse per se, this is just a horse that she, um, borrowed from a field somewhere. Just for funsies! She’s going to bring it back! But she saw some wolves she wanted to chase down and Gurgiu saw a lovely cow that he wanted to romance and they became unavoidably separated for a while, so she improvised.
(Also not visible in a greyscale image: she’s dark charcoal grey, black-haired, and wears vivid face and body paint in patterns that change from day to day: red and grey and black for traditional war paint, but also reds and greens and blues and yellows mixed in both geometric patterns and clumsy pictographs or symbols when she wants to Look Cool.)
Yelkha the Bull Mother was born into a tribe of orcs who lived in a series of high mountain valleys. Favored by Bahgtru, they kept a mighty herd of aurochs, their sacred war mounts, and much of their lifestyle focused on maintaining and honoring the blessings of the herd. With their aurochs, the tribe could mount a cavalry greater than any other orcs in the region, allowing them to storm down upon rival tribes and lowland villages alike in deadly charges--and carry away significantly more loot in their fleet of war wagons afterwards. The leadership of the tribe changed frequently, as is common with orcs, but their traditions were strong, dictated by the behavior and preferences of their cattle.
As a half-orc, Yelkha was smaller and stouter than most of those around her (5′8″ in a tribe that often ran close to seven feet, though as broad-shouldered as the largest and burliest of them despite her height, and broad-hipped and sturdy to boot; her non-orcish heritage was deemed likely to be dwarven). While half-orc cunning can often carry them to dominance and leadership within their orc tribes regardless, she had a protective streak regarding the younger children that the priestesses of Luthic could not beat out. Since Luthic, while brutal to her children to mold them into the desired shape, is also fiercely protective of the best of her brood, the priestesses took this to be a sign that Yelkha should become one of them. She was raised to both teach and cruelly test the younger children of the tribe, though she struggled with the culling that followed such tests; to tend to the cave-bears that the priestesses kept as pets, and to help to defend the whelping pens; and to help, as the priestesses did, when a whelping went awry and the mother or child needed outside aid. Males sometimes scorned this last, but it was better to preserve the strength of a seasoned warrior so that she could fight and breed again, or when that could not be accomplished than to try to save the child that it might perhaps show its mother’s strength.
So Yelkha lived in the whelping caves with the priestesses of Luthic, and saw the sun and the outside world only when the tribe exhausted the resources of a valley and moved on to pillage and graze the next one, until she was thirteen years old. By orc standards, she was grown, though as a half-orc she hadn’t quite finished filling out, and she’d been allowed to work as a midwife on her own for two years now (after showing particular cleverness with a cave-bear sow who refused to permit anyone else aid her delivery). One of the most prized aurochs of the tribe--the cow who led charges against wolves and orc raiders alike, a beloved mount of an acclaimed battle-captain--was having a breech birth, and the herdmaster sent for a midwife. Since Yelkha did handle the cave-bears with skill, and the cow was known for fiercely goring anyone she disliked, Yelkha was sent to attend to the beast.
The herdmaster only gave her the barest of instructions on how to handle the animal (insulted, a bit, that a full priestess had not been sent instead, and ready to crow that the whelp they gave him had been gored or trampled and they should send another), but Yelkha took them to heart, and observed the aurochs’ body language and the way the others moved around her, and managed to persuade the cow to permit her aid and turn the calf around inside her so that it could be properly born. Cow and calf both survived and proved strong (the calf had inadvertently injured an unwary handler within her first week, to the general delight of the herd-keepers), and the herdmaster was sufficiently impressed with Yelkha that he demanded he be allowed to try her as one of his cavalry. He taught her how to ride, and how to fight from cattle-back and not just on the ground, and how to ride as part of a larger force in maneuvers, and how to master a cow in season or a bull who had scented a rival, and the care and training and upkeep of the animals--for while she was a good fighter, so were most of the tribe, and merely ‘good’ did not mark her out the way that her talent with animals did. And for her talent with them, and particularly her ability to deal with the many difficulties of calving, she found her comrades in the aurochs cavalry calling her the Bull Mother. From most it was mocking, but from some it was genuinely respectful, and her teacher was among the latter, so Yelkha wore the epithet with pride.
That one particular cow, the ill-tempered creature she’d first worked with who was so beloved by the tribe’s strongest battle-captain, calved two more times over the next three years and had difficulties with each pregnancy. As the fourth year came around, she also was clearly becoming old, and the battle-captain--recently become chief, and devising some grand strategies for the tribe’s advancement--demanded a forced match between her and the greatest bull of the tribe, the one believed to be a special gift from Bahgtru because he refused to be mounted but still led the unsaddled aurochs of the herd into fights against the tribe’s enemies. Even Yelkha and the herdmaster could not actually handle him, but they managed through trickery to pen him into a slot in the mountainside alongside the cow while she was in season, at the cost of the bull himself, for he broke a leg trying to escape. At such a cost, the calf would have to be a bull, and he would have to be blessed as well, and he would have to be the new, sole mount of the new chief.
He was strong, and hale, and hearty, and fierce, and clever, and would surely be enormous, and he refused to be approached by any but the most experienced and talented aurochs handlers, the herdmaster and Yelkha among them. But the herdmaster was growing old, for an orc, and after a kick left him limping for a month he was wary of the powerful young beast. And he was also considering Yelkha as his successor--other roles, orcs might fight for, but this one was determined by the aurochs herd themselves, for only the one that they followed could be herdmaster. So he set her the task of taming and training this young bull for the new chief: one part test, for if she could do this then she could without question lead the herd, and one part introduction, for the chief would be more willing to listen to her as herdmaster if he owed her his own glorious mount. And Yelkha entered into the task full-heartedly, difficult as it was; the young bull, named Gurgiu, was as quarrelsome and disobedient as his parents, though possibly even more powerful. She was tossed dozens of times, and partially trampled a few, and once even gored in the shoulder, but every time she got back up and came back around and coaxed or tricked or strong-armed Gurgiu into listening. Over time they built up a bond, so that he would do almost anything she wanted (there were still times when he wouldn’t listen, by his nature), and she knew that her next task was to try and transfer that bond over to his intended rider.
And after a year of raising and training Gurgiu, like all hell was she going to do that.
So late one night she packed up all she dared take from the tribe, and saddled Gurgiu, and fled into the night. She had to run from the mountains entirely, fleeing the chief’s wrath, and she ended up deep in the lowlands, in the territory of humans and halflings and gnomes and elves, before she felt safe enough to slow down her mad dash and start sauntering along instead. These people looked at her with fear, so she quickly learned to pair the truth that she was running from her tribe with the lie that she was trying to seek out her non-orc parent (a lie, because he most probably was a dwarf, and in that case he certainly lived in the mountains she’d left behind), and to do her best to seem less dangerous by rescuing strangers in peril and offering to help out with heavy labor and cuddling cute animals (okay, the last wasn’t meant to seem disarming, she would have done it anyway and it just had that fortunate side-effect). She couldn’t bring herself to forswear her tribe and culture entirely, though, and sometimes her rage got the best of her, and then she beat people to a paste and had to quickly move on to new stomping grounds, so even once she’d learned to slow down a bit and partially co-exist with non-orcs she was still spending a lot of time on the run.

Stats! I don’t feel like rolling or doing the point-buy math rn, but she’d sink most of her points/good rolls into Strength and Constitution, with Charisma (she’s a very cheery person) and Wisdom next, and Dexterity and Intelligence as the dump stats.
Race: Half-orc
Ability Score Increase: Strength +2, Constitution +1
Age: matures at 14, max age 75; Yelkha is currently 18
Alignment: definitely Chaotic Neutral
Size: Medium; 5′8″, broad from shoulders all the way down
Speed: 30 feet
Darkvision: 60 feet range
Menacing: proficiency in Intimidation
Relentless Endurance: once per long rest, can drop to 1 hp instead when reduced to 0 hp by an attack that doesn’t kill you outright
Savage Attacks: can roll one damage dice one more time and add it in
Languages: Common and Orc
Class: Fighter (Cavalier archtype)
armor proficiencies: all armor, shields
weapon proficiencies: simple weapons, martial weapons
saving throws: Strength, Constitution
skills: Perception, Survival (and Performance at level 3 as a Cavalier)
starting equipment*: leather armor, longbow, 20 arrows, a warhammer, a longsword, two handaxes, explorer’s pack
fighting style: Defense (+2 to AC while wearing armor)
*Her starting equipment has an asterik because she would change out her loadout asap for medium armor (first chain shirt, then eventually breastplate when she can afford it; she leaves her legs lightly armored because effective riding comes from the legs and seat, including contact with the animal) and as many. weapons. as possible. she can use SO MANY and she wants to CARRY that many so that she’s versatile and can fight in any situation (on the ground, on Gurgiu, on another improvised mount, penned into a corner, out in the open, from a long range...), though in the end she most likes crushing weapons and longbows.
And last of all the Xanathar’s extra stuff for fighters (the first time I’ve used this, but just because):
heraldic sign: a charging aurochs surrounded by lightning bolts, representing goring your enemies (and also looking SICK AS HELL, she doesn’t understand heraldry)
instructor: Weapon Riding Master. Your mentor (the herdmaster) helped you become one with your chosen weapon mount, by imparting highly specialized knowledge of how to wield command it most effectively. (Tribal Warrior would also have worked but is true of literally everyone in her tribe rip)
Background: Soldier (Cavalry specialty)
skill proficiencies: Athletics, Animal Handling (subbed in since half-orcs already get Intimidation, and it’s appropriate to her specialty)
tool proficiencies: one type of gaming set (dice), land vehicles (especially ox-drawn lmao)
equipment: an insignia of rank (an abstract image of an aurochs head carved on a plaque of aurochs bone), a trophy taken from a fallen enemy (a broken goliath blade), a set of bone dice, a set of common clothes (i.e., furs), and a pouch containing 10 gp
feature: Military Rank (recognized by her former organization, which normally means you can influence other soldiers and requisition 'simple equipment or horses for temporary use’; in this case being recognized by her former organization would be a bad thing, though, so it’s not so much a “feature” as a “bug”)
Personality Traits:
I can stare down a hell hound without flinching. (from Soldier)
I have a crude sense of humor. (from Soldier)
I face problems head-on. A simple, direct solution is the best path to success. (from Soldier)
I welcome any chance to prove my battle skills. (from Orc)
I chant orcish war dirges during combat. (from Orc)
Thinking is for other people. I prefer action. (from Folk Hero)
I’m oblivious to etiquette and social expectations. (from Hermit)
I feel far more comfortable around animals than people. (from Outlander)
I don’t like to bathe. (from Urchin)
Ideals:
Independence: When people follow orders blindly, they embrace a kind of tyranny. (from Soldier)
Might: In life as in war, the stronger force wins. (from Soldier)
Glory: The goals of the tribe don’t concern me. Personal glory is what I crave. (from Orc)
Bonds:
Those who fight beside me are those worth dying for. (from Soldier)
I fight for those who can’t fight for themselves. (from Soldier)
Somewhere out there, I have two children who don’t know me. I’m making the world better for them. (from Charlatan)
I escaped my life in the tribe by robbing an important person, and I’m wanted for it. (from Urchin)
Flaws:
I have little respect for anyone who is not a proven warrior. (from Soldier)
I’d rather eat my armor than admit when I’m wrong. (from Soldier)
I believe in living to fight another day. (from Orc)
If there’s a plan, I’ll forget it. If I don’t forget it, I’ll ignore it. (from Criminal)
I’ll do anything to win fame and renown. (from Entertainer)
There’s no room for caution in a life lived to the fullest. (from Outlander)
Violence is my answer to almost any challenge. (from Outlander)
I am not only short-tempered, but quick to main, kill, and destroy in my rage. (not from any particular one but MAJOR FLAW HEY)

Mount: Gurgiu the aurochs bull
“Orcs that revere Bahgtru might tend a stable of war bulls that carry them into combat. Trained to be fierce mounts from a young age, aurochs are sacred symbols of Bahgtru. No orc will eat such creatures, which are treated as honored warriors when they perish.” - Volo’s Guide to Monsters
AUROCHS Large beast, unaligned Armor Class 11 (natural armor) Hit Points 38 (4d10 + 16) Speed 50 ft. STR 20 (+5) / DEX 10 (+O) / CON 19 (+4) / INT 2 (-4) / WIS 12 (+1) / CHA 5 (-3) Senses passive Perception 11 Languages- Challenge 2 (450 XP) Charge. If the aurochs moves at least 20 feet straight toward a target and then hits it with a gore attack on the same turn, the target takes an extra 9 (2d8) piercing damage. If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a DC 15 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone. ACTIONS Gore. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 14 (2d8 + 5) piercing damage.
Even though he’s not a ranger companion (and at higher levels would probably eventually die in fights--fortunately, Yelkha is not adverse to grabbing and trying out any damn rideable animal that she sees, so she can handle a variety of different successors, and given the text above she’s likely to take it as him dying the right and proper and honorable way), I’m going to use the revised ranger stuff for a quick personality brief:
Personality Traits:
I’m dauntless in the face of adversity.
People see an animal and underestimate me. I use that to my advantage.
Threaten my friends, threaten me.
Flaws:
I charge at strangers, and all people but my rider are strangers to me.
If there’s food left unattended, I’ll eat it.
My idea of hello is a powerful headbutt to the chest.
If I scent a cow in heat, nothing else matters to me but finding her.
(the last isn’t a ranger flaw but it’s definitely a major Gurgiu flaw)
And, of course, she takes Mounted Combatant asap at level 4. Sadly the rules don’t seem to allow for charging or goring people even when mounted upon a creature that can until you get the higher-level cavalier option to charge your foes, but FLAVOR-WISE, that’s something she’d try to do anyway. Why the fuck else would you ride a war aurochs?
#i feel like this veers a lot into Special Person territory rip#but i mean i was envisioning her as the protagonist of every single horse movie#and you know what i don't actually care if she's a cow-taming mary sue#i do what i want#yelkha#dnd chars

time for some more!
-so, i like to think of creepers as basically Cryptid Dogs/Wolves™. i headcanon that sam is an anthropomorphic creeper. so, case in point, my headcanon is that sam is an Anthropomorphic Cryptid Dog™. he has Toe Beans™
-mob/animal hybrids have more animal/mob behaviors when they’re younger that they eventually grow out of. so, an avian would act more bird-like up until they turn anywhere between 5-7 years old. why do i bring this up? well...wilbur and fundy brought up some baby/child fundy lore in the last stream. so...i’m just mostly using this as my own reason for what happened.
-quackity has a gold canine (as well as some more gold teeth) in the area of his mouth where the pickaxe went through his jaw.
-speaking of which, sam technically has two scars on his face from where dream killed him: one going through his left eye and stopping just a bit before reaching his lip, and another going diagonally across his face (left-to-right), starting just below his left eye and going through his lips and jaw on the right side. he uses his mask to hide them.
-eret has (or, well, had) two different crowns: the one that dream gave them upon first becoming king (and it’s the one they threw into the l’mancrater), and one that i believe foolish made for them a long time ago (that they don’t remember the origins of, obviously). the foolish-made one is designed to look similar to a flower crown, but is still made of gold, with rainbow-colored gems in the center of the flowers. eret kept it with them, even centuries later. after eret was made king again, they began to dislike dream’s crown (and the symbolism behind it). so, they tried to look through their stuff and found foolish’s crown. they didn’t wear it all the time (at this point); only in private. when dream was finally locked up, they switched to using the flower one, and it’s been their permanent one ever since. they still don’t entirely understand why foolish was so happy when they met each other (again) and saw them wearing the crown...
-eret also has heart-shaped glasses after dream was locked up. like these:
look, i just think they look nice and would suit eret-
that’s all for now! will add more later! (i think y’all can tell which characters were on my mind tonight-)
alright. does anybody want some dsmp headcanons of mine? it’s mostly just going to be random ones.
unless y’all want angst. either is fine with me.
