#am I projecting onto Sanji? always

it wouldn't surprise me that, despite sanji being the literal cook of the crew, he had an eating disorder (ofc trigger warning here for eds, child abuse, starvation and, y'know, sanji's background in general).
he experienced the most traumatic years of his life trapped inside a fucking cell, with a metal helmet around his head and only eating when his father let him. which was 'only when the kid needs it', probably. which leads to judge saying 'i couldn't even kill my son' and it can translate to 'at least i kept you alive'. and not to turn this into irl trauma, but abusive parents constantly use the 'keeping you alive and giving you food' excuse (the bare fucking minimum) to guilt trip you into thinking that they're good and that you're exaggerating how bad they treated you because, well, at least they kept you alive, didn't they?
so here, sanji sees food as a form of loving but in the sense of 'at least my dad didn't kill me. that's something'. so his vision towards food remains positive but only because of his mom. only because his love language is acts of service and his mom took everything he gave her, even if it was horrific, as a way of saying 'i love all of you. you're perfect because you tried and the fact that you brought me your food is enough to make me feel loved. you're not a mistake' despite his brothers and his father saying that he was, indeed, a mistake and weak for wanting to give food to others instead of just taking it for himself.
both ideas of 'someone who loves you wouldn't let you starve' and 'offering food to others is opening up your heart' coexist inside little sanji's brain.
so it wouldn't be crazy to think that, although sanji loves cooking and his best early memories of it are that book that kept him dreaming while he was locked up, and his mom's words, has a hard time eating food.
besides, sanji is used to giving, not taking. he's not selfish, but actually extremely generous to the point of forgetting about his own well-being. i don't think he actually thinks about how hungry he is until it hurts. until he needs it. he only ate whenever his father let him so he wouldn't starve, and the only thing that made him feel well about food was the fact that he could give it to the one he loved and needed it.
sanji doesn't have good experiences eating food, but only cooking it. it's a great representation of his personality as a whole, to be honest.
then the whole zeff thing happens, and he actually almost starves to death and learns what hunger feels like. but once again, zeff saves him and he's the one to be hungry for not letting the kid starve. which might seem similar to what judge did, but 'not letting you starve because i couldn't kill you' isn't the same as 'not letting you starve because i don't want you to die'. sanji learns the difference that day.
he didn't know somebody could be that kind. especially to him, someone who doesn't deserve it (he thinks he doesn't) because, in his house, love only came when you earned it.
and, you know, sanji's like that. sanji's selfless. sanji does everything for others. and so the guilt eats him up first. what zeff did is beautiful and amazing and we love him for it, but we don't know about how that affected sanji at a young age. which only makes him even more selfless and more of a better, kinder, generous person. and that might be bad, considering how little he thinks about himself already-
he learns that throwing away food is awful, and that you have to be grateful for being able to eat. grateful for living. so his don't-waste-food policy is obviously a big part of his personality due to almost dying of starvation and also owing his life to his dad (zeff, the real one, of course. fuck judge).
but that can almost be dangerous because refusing to waste food leads to forcing yourself to eat only because of his concept of what food means.
and then we have luffy in wci saying the whole 'i won't eat anything that you haven't cooked' which is precious and something very beautiful to say to your cook, but that only brings sanji back to 'starving is a form of loving' and 'you can't let someone you love starve'. and no matter how much he wants to force himself to push luffy away, he gives him food because he knows his captain will keep his promise.
sanji feels guilty, once again, but he ends up fixing it.
the thing is, after everything i've said, i don't think it would be weird to think about sanji viewing food as something external. something that isn't for himself. something that he only has control over because it's for others and not for himself, and it's a concept, a form of love, and not a need. because he does not feel hungry. when it comes to food, he feels responsibility and guilt and love... but never hunger.
hunger is, by all means, a form of selfishness sanji isn't used to unless his body is about to give up completely. he can eat out of pleasure and satisfaction and love for food, but he does it to train a selfless skill that may or may not also be selfish in the sense of 'wanting to be loved and useful'.
so here we have:
seeing food as a form of love because at least his dad wouldn't let him die, but he probably learned to push away the concept of hunger
seeing cooking as the most beautiful way of showing your feelings and efforts and taking care of people
not knowing the concept of hunger due to his own selflessness
scratch the first one, actually starving for others is a form of loving. he will never let the people he loves starve even if it means he dies in the process.
he can't waste food because that would be insulting and disrespectful. no matter the context.
and i'm just saying (and this whole thing is extremely self-indulgent and me projecting again and again) that it wouldn't be surprising to me if he had some issues when it comes to eating and making food for himself.
it's not that he thinks he doesn't deserve food, it's just the thought that he doesn't need it. going back to his past it could be seeing hunger as a form of weakness (not when it comes to others. never when it comes to others), both because of what his family taught him men should be like, and the fact that the manliest man he knows used starvation as a form of love.
so it's seeing hunger as something that makes you weak, but only when it comes to himself because of course, he wouldn't apply the same rules for him as for everyone else. he's just like that.
he thinks about others first, and himself second. always second. and the thought of eating and needing it only comes when it's too much. and when that time comes, the voices in his head tell him that he's weak. and again, i don't think he sees himself as undeserving of food because he has this whole thing about everybody deserving to eat. but he has never played with the same rules as the rest, always a few steps behind, so if he can't fight the thoughts in his head contradicting his morals, that's just how he is.
not to mention the 'don't waste food' part which also would make him feel guilty about not being able to eat if the thoughts of not deserving food and being weak for needing to eat become too much. he can't eat because he doesn't deserve it and because he's weak. and he can't starve, because that would mean wasting food.
so, you know, sanji is out of options here.
if some days sanji just casually decides not to eat- forgets to prepare himself a meal while his crew enjoys his food... that's just the way he is, isn't it? and if he lies about it, it's just another form of love, keeping them away from his problems.
besides, controlling hunger and controlling food is the only way he has to take control of his messy life. when something is out of reach, the unstoppable thing called life he has never been able to control, at least he can choose not to eat. he can choose to starve, this time, with the comfort of knowing he won't. he can choose not to eat this time, not like all of those times when food was controlling him instead.
at least the strawhats will never, ever, starve if he's around. but of course, nobody thinks about asking the cook if he wants to eat. that would be absurd. and it's impossible to think sanji would have some sort of issue with it! sanji, the cook, who keeps telling them not to waste food, not eating? that would be absurd and too selfless to make sense.
that's just the way he is.
#this headcanon is literally just me projecting my shit onto sanji ngl#*holds sanji gently* you've changed my life darling i love you so much please take care of yourself#why's he such a good person and why do people always treat him like shit i am violent#i swear all of this makes sense in my head#like he's a person who's always taking control of the situation only bc he feels like he can't control what he's feeling#and yknow feeling is for the weak and men aren't weak and yadda yadda yadda fuck the vinsmokes#his eating disorder is also heavily connected to his views in gender but that's for another day#tw eating disorder#sanji#black leg sanji#vinsmoke sanji#<- i hate this tag btw only using so it gets to more people bc i spent my time writing this ngl#red leg zeff#one piece#op

Gossip Girl: Bad Romance Chapter 7
Things are back to normal Upper Eastsiders. Or at least they appear to be that way. E has thankfully been discharged from the hospital. Still, he has a funeral to plan. Talk about exhausting. Fortunately, he has some pretty rich and wealthy friends to help out. Lucky bastard.
Meanwhile, justice for S as his father and accomplices have been found guilty of all charges levied against them and have all been sentenced to 50 years in prison. Meaning that Judge Vinsmoke is gonna rot his ass away in the jail cel for life. Good riddance as I do not condone such god awful behaviour.
All the members of Aogiri have signed onto different labels and agencies now and are starting life as independent artistes. Well….everyone except from S, whose next line of action is still unknown. Let’s wait and see what he does next.
A wind of change has come to the Upper East Side and with it comes some new faces which can only mean one thing: drama.
There is this new guy on the block and many believe that he could be gunning for Z’s throne. Apparently this is someone that Z also knows. Things are gonna get explosive in here. Watch this space.
XOXO,
Gossip Girl.
The door of a black limo opens in front of a glitzy hotel and out comes a tall lighted skinned guy wearing a red coat over a plain white t-shirt and a pair of light blue jeans with matching trainers.
His eyes were concealed with glasses as he steps into the building. He never thought that he would be back here in a million years. Not after his father’s business went down under.
His manager speaks to the receptionist whilst he takes the elevator and makes his way to his parent’s condo.
Griffith is still embittered by Zoro’s relationship with Sanji. He did not expect Sanji to be that smart. Like how could that low class tramp outsmart him like that? He is not even half as hot as he is.
He has only one thing on his mind after his rehab stint: revenge. He has been following the latest development with Sanji’s court drama and Eren’s family chaos.
He did some digging and sure enough, Sanji weaselled his way into Zoro’s life and heart at a club and propositioned himself as a sugar baby like the cheap slut that he was.
Compared to before, he will work more discreetly and wait for the perfect moment to take down Sanji. He has also found some backup, people from Sanji’s past who too want to destroy him. “This is gonna be fun.” he says with the most evil smirk in place. Good thing he did some plastic surgery and changed his hair colour. A new identity would be perfect for this.
Meanwhile, Lelouch and Eren go out for lunch. “I cannot believe that you and I never had a proper conversation with each other.” says Eren. Lelouch chuckles as he sips some red wine.
“We were busy being kids that’s why.” he says. “Yeah but still, I always wondered a lot about you. Like your funny catwalk.”
Lelouch just giggles at that. “I don’t know how that happened.”
“Are you for real?!”
Lelouch nods, making Eren chuckle. “No fucking way man!!”
“Funny considering you tap your foot at random.”
I do that whenever I am nervous.”
“What makes you nervous?”
“I just want everything to work out well.” Lelouch nods. “This industry is punishing to kids.”
Eren nods. “I still can’t believe Zoro debuted in this industry as a young child actor at the age of 5.”
“He almost went mad as a result but thanks to his dad he came out a lot better. Also Sanji’s appearance too.”
“I am thinking of doing therapy especially with all the shit that has happened.” says Eren. “I think you should. I am still in therapy because I occasionally have panic attacks and nightmares from past trauma.”
“Whoa!!” Lelouch nods. “How is Nunnally doing by the way?”
“Oh she is fine. She worries about us a lot.”
Elsewhere, Zoro has just gotten into of a business meeting with some TV producers for their next project. Bonus part? They want Sanji involved as well and as a result, he had to drag Sanji with him.
He smirks as he watches Sanji speak with them. He should not have fallen in love with Sanji. Yet he did. It was more than his looks and the good sex. Sanji’s brains are something else entirely. And it shows in situations like this.
Just then, his phone rings. As soon as he sees Grimmjow’s name, he takes in a deep breath. If Grimmjow ever calls him, it could mean just one thing. Grimmjow literally serves as his eyes and ears afterall.
“Excuse me gentlemen.” he says as he drops his glass of wine and heads outside to answer the call.
“Yes Grimmjow?” he says.
Grimmjow speaks in a hushed tone through the receiver of the phone. “Zoro the bitch is back.” Zoro smirks. He figured that a certain ex of his would return.
“Really now?”
Grimmjow nods. “He is currently lounging at the Hilton Hotel.Knowing this son of a bitch, he is definitely coming after Sanji.”
Zoro nods. “Unlike last time, we are now prepared. Keep on monitoring his every move and report back to me.”
“Roger that.” Grimmjow hangs up.
He turns and sees Sanji come out of the boardroom, his eyes filled with concern. “Did something happen?”
Zoro just hugs him. “Don’t worry my love. It will be all taken care of because I let my guard down once, I am not gonna repeat that mistake again.”
Now Sanji was worried. “So that bastard is back huh? Great. Just great.”
“Like I said don’t worry. There is a reason I am the King of this town. If Griffith thinks he can dethrone me and hurt you, he should think again.”
“That reminds me, the Midsummer ball is happening in the two weeks. Rukia is organising it. What better way to humiliate the bitch than by luring him to the party?”
It was then that a devious smirk appears on Sanji’s face. “Wait….I have another plan to add to this one actually.” Zoro grins with pride. “And they wonder why I love you so much.” he says, leaning in to kiss him.
“That is why we lasted this long darling. We are more than ride and die darling. Any bitch that tries to separate us is asking for a fate worse than death.”
“Either way, let’s go seal that deal and then figure out our plan from there.” The couple head back to finish the deal.
This is the first mention of One Piece here. Also what plan does Sanji have in mind? People like Griffith bring out Sanji’s more calculating side.

Hello! There have been some major changes to the East Blue saga this time.
As I am typing this, I am at the Water 7 saga and after 400 chapters, my typesetting has improved greatly since the last time I touched East Blue. The edit's looked obvious and tacky and it was honestly making me cringe, so the entire saga has been revisioned!
First! I would like to announce that someone has stepped up and offered their help towards The Zoro Project! Let's give a thank you to LunarRoge for her help with her translations and tons of research put into this revision 👏
The revision includes:
-CBZ Support! [This will make it even easier to read the manga! Please see this post]
-Improved Typesetting
-The Alternate's versions "less pirate speak" implemented into the Standard Version [The original vision was keeping the Standard as close to Viz as possible but East Blue is particularly bad with inaccuracies all around, if you want the true 100% Viz experience with East Blue, you can always read it through another way. But here the project's goal is sticking close to what Oda had in mind]
-Cleaner Pages [Every page has been cleaned of jpeg artifacts, giving it a cleaner look]
-Volume Covers that mimic the original Japanese covers [The plan here is to replace all the covers with these, but we're starting here first]
-Color Volume Illustration Pages [Affect only the illustrations that were originally in color. (Note: The ONE PIECE logo is not official colors. The logo looked out of place when placed a solid white on coloring, so it has been colored by me)
-Improved Double Pages [East Blue & Alabasta double pages looks a bit wonky, I feel like I've improved in the redrawing department a lot more, and fixed the more obvious-looking double pages]
Alright, these were the general changes. Now onto the more saga related edits.
Less pirate-speak. This was originally already implemented into the Alternate version, but it has now been applied to the Standard.
Edited chapter titles to correctly reflect what it should've been, volume one for example:
This particular part of Roger's opening speech
Edited Shank's crew calling him "Captain" to "Chief"
Edited in the Lord of the Coast's correct title
"Navy" has been edited to "Marines" [This change will be implemented in the other sagas in future revisions]
Helmeppo's "Dog" has been edited to Wolf
This particular panel has been edited and redrawn to better match the original Japanese panel, Viz's version hid too much with their sound effect edit
Changed "Butchie" and "Siam" to "Buchi" and "Sham"
Changed "Meowban" brothers to "Nyaban" brothers
Changed "Django" to just "Jango"
Fixed how Sanji talks. again
Changed "Pride and Joy" to "Treasure"
Changed 'Invincible Pearl' to 'Iron Wall Pearl' during his introduction
Changed "grit" to "conviction" between the talk with Zeff and Sanji
Changed "Choo" to "Chew"
Changed "Purinpurin" to "Pudding Pudding"
Edited the "Slip-Slip" fruit to "Smooth-Smooth"
Fixed Various attack names from certain characters (Usopp (minor), Buggy (minor), Kuroobi (major, his were all mostly wrong), Sanji (major, some attacks had extra words that didn't belong to sound fancier), Zoro (major, edited his rice ball pun attack names in) Arlong (minor) Hachi (major, most of his attacks started with 'hachi ___' this has been replaced with 'Octo-Hachi ___' ) Chew (major, most of his attacks were either mixed up or wrong) Pearl (major, mainly word switching))
Edited "Brandnew" to "Brannew"
Edited the narrator dialogue at the beginning of chapter 100
Fixed the Grade Blade system naming
Edited "Matsu" to "Ipponmatsu"
Edited "White Chase Smoker" to "Smoker the White Hunter"
Edited 'Coco Village' to 'Cocoyashi Village'
East Blue change log
Along with fixing all Zolo’s, here are the additional changes made in the East Blue Saga:

Ykno what I’m thinking about on this fine day? Sanji. Who is surprised. BUT I was rereading this post by @demonzoro and got to thinking specifically about the “started smoking to make himself seem more mature” thing and how pretending (or being forced by circumstance) to be mature as a child can lead to emotional underdevelopment as an adult.
As an oldest sibling and a former Little Girl with Undiagnosed ADHD™, I was always told I was mature for my age, talked well with adults, was very responsible and self-sufficient, etc. I was by no means forced to be like this, but I understood this was praised behavior so I kept up with it and now look at me lol. So I find myself coming across this problem of emotional maturity occasionally. Emotional maturity is influenced by both your adult mentors and younger peers. And who out of the crew had older siblings, other children as friends, or actual adult figures around who loved them? Most everyone EXCEPT Sanji and Usopp, whose mothers died when they were very young and had almost no other children their age in their life.
BUT TIME OUT: by this logic, am I saying that Luffy is emotionally mature? I guess I am. He’s a goofball and impulsive, sure, but he is the one to bring so many people to these significant moments that realize emotional maturity. He makes Nami ask for help in Arlong Park. He makes Robin say she wants to live. He helps Chopper realize he’s not a monster, and to take a step towards achieving his dream by coming with them. He makes Sanji say what he truly wants and ask for help in Whole Cake AND yells at him at the Baratie (which I mentioned here talking about Sanji’s martyrdom). Not to mention the countless side characters who are inspired by him. OKAY TIME IN.
We clearly see Usopp’s emotional immaturity with his pathological lying and inability to take full responsibility for his mistakes. Though, he wasn’t necessarily robbed of a childhood, he didn’t have figures in his life to teach him about becoming an adult, and his childhood is extended when he didn’t want it to be. He’s not fooling himself, he knows he’s a chicken. And his dream is to become a brave warrior! Usopp’s dream is to leave behind his primary hallmark of emotional immaturity.
Sanji, on the other hand, thinks he’s the epitome of sophisticated manhood, but he is clinging to a childhood he never got to have. We see it when he talks about the All Blue and the way he treats women. Sanji’s dream is to find this fairytale place. And unlike Usopp who as a child lacked adult figures and had plenty of (younger, granted) kids on the island, Sanji lacked other children to be around. His siblings were not normal children, and he spent the whole rest of his youth with grown-ass pirates. To fit in and survive, he had to act mature. But he never learns true maturity. Everything Sanji does is him mimicking how he thinks mature people behave. But he hasn’t learned boundary setting, he hasn’t learned to ask for help, he hasn’t learned to be vulnerable.
(((Also I know Robin had to be mature at a young age as well, but she is 8 years older than the east blue crew so we don’t see her moments of emotional immaturity in the canon storyline. In fact she is likely regarded as the most mature before Jinbe joins. Though one could argue water 7/enies lobby is a demonstration of emotional immaturity from Robin, I think it’s specifically trauma-informed due to the whole Devil Child thing bringing ruin to everyone she ever met until that point. Also Spandam is there and his connection to Ohara/threat of buster call is a bfd. Fic ideas for Robin in her late teens/early twenties struggling with emotions anyone…?)))
————————
Anyway. There’s a point in here somewhere. Sanji is prepared to spend his entire adult life to find this childish fantasy. It could be said that both Usopp and Sanji’s dreams are to obtain what they never had. But the key difference is Usopp is searching for emotional maturity, bravery, because he knows he needs it. Sanji is searching for the childhood he never got and he doesn’t realize he’s missing it.

marrying sanji…
w/: vinsmoke sanji
notes: yes i’m projecting onto my blorbos what the hell else am i supposed to do
warnings: n/a
☆ in his life sanji had proposed to countless women, gotten countless no’s, and amassed quite a collection of red handprints that adorned his cheeks long after the women in question had stormed off
☆ but you…..you were hundreds of times harder to get than the rest. something about you scared sanji somewhere deep inside his heart. he chased you like every other woman, but this time felt so much more important. whatever he had to do to win you over, he was more than willing to do.
☆ now you’ve been dating for years, and yet he’s still chasing after something. now it’s the best version of himself, the version of sanji he knows you deserve. he’ll still stop at nothing, but now it’s to keep you, not to have you.
☆ because he’s seen what happens when good people marry monsters, and he never wants to become the man his father was. he wants to treat you the way his mother should’ve been treated. he’s seen what happens when you’re forced to marry someone you don’t love—he damn near lived it—and he never wants you to feel that way.
☆ he knows the way that he feels is unlike anything he ever has before. he knows it when he watches you sit on the deck of the sunny, the light catching your eyes just so. he knows it when he kisses you, when he lays beside you and listens for the steady rhythm of your breathing until he succumbs to sleep
☆ and it’s when he lays there awake at night that he believes, if only for an instant, that he might actually turn out good. he was not born heartless like his brothers and sister, he was born to be a man of love. and he knows that love is a sacrifice but for you that sacrifice is never a bad one. for you when he says “whatever it takes” he means it as a promise, as something he will always do for you as long as he lives
☆ in truth marriage scares him a bit, scares him in the places that have always longed for commitment but have never quite gotten the hang of it, but it’s right next to those places that he finds the desire to spend the rest of his life with you. and it’s between those places where he stores his dreams of domesticity, his plans to have you right by his side for every battle, every adventure, every wild chapter of luffy’s story the two of you get dragged along on.
☆ when the day finally comes and sanji stands there facing you, finally ready to make a commitment, he’ll tell you that from the moment he met you he always imagined his future with you in it. he’ll tell you about the first time he really knew he loved you (it was, to no one’s surprise, a bit sooner than you), he’ll tell you about all the reasons he’s chosen you, and that he hopes you’ll never stop choosing him too
☆ because when you marry sanji you marry the person who has become the man of your dreams, flaws and all. when you marry sanji you know it’s true love, that “i do” means forever, and forever means that he’ll always be there to protect you and care for you and most importantly of all love you.

Would You Still Love me?
(FTM Reader x Sanji)
Warning: Transphobia. It's gonna get sad before it gets happy, so don’t read if you aren't in the mental state for that.
(Also it starts with she/her pronouns for a reason, just wait and see ok? Don’t worry it’ll get there.)
(Aug 16, 2020)
He was her closest and most trusted friend. They did everything and went everywhere together, but not today.
Women were what he loved, y/n was a woman, and y/n loved him. So what was the problem? As much as she loved him, she wasn't sure he loved her in the same way. Her love was unconditional, but was his?
The path trailed off into a darker more mysterious part of town.
He seemed to "love" all women, but what about her specifically? Was it simply adoration? Would he truly love her if she asked him to, or would he continue to "love" the others as well?
Wandering aimlessly and alone was the plan of the day. It was all in hope of somehow easing the weight of her heavy heart.
She would love him even if he wasn't a him. Regardless of gender Sanji was her everything. Gender meant little to her as long as Sanji was Sanji, but what about him? Would he still care about her if she wasn't a woman anymore?
A dark eerie shop came into view ahead to her left. It somehow gave her a warm welcoming feeling that flooded her lonely soul and begged for a visitor.
Wasn't the person more important than the gender?
As she grew closer she noticed the witch symbol that marked all magic shops.
The thoughts that plagued her mind and heart relentlessly, became lighter as she turned the bone handle and opened the door.
"May I help you?" A sweet fairly young looking witch asked kindly.
Incense filled the small shop with its pleasant aroma bringing some comfort to her weary mind.
"I don't need help at the moment. Would it be a bother if I asked questions about some of the things you're selling?" y/n said politely, eyes trailing across the shelves.
"Not at all, dear. Look around, ask all you like." She answered happily twirling a strand of her soft teal hair.
"Thank you." y/n said before walking around in search of something that might be of use.
The bay leaves caught her eye, since she'd watched Sanji use them in soups before. Unfortunately, the thought of Sanji wasn't welcome at the moment. Her expression unknowingly dropped.
"I'm sorry to pry, but are you alright miss? No one else is here and I won't judge you, dear." The kind witch asked noticing the poor girl's change in mood.
"I- No, I'm not alright..." y/n answered truthfully, since there was no use in hiding it. Her heart couldn't bear to lie to such a kind woman.
"Well what's the matter, dear?" Curiosity and concern filling the witch's voice and face. She knew from experience how harmful holding in emotions could be.
"Well, there's this man I love, but he adores women in general. I'm not sure, even if he truly loved me, that it would be the same way in which I love him. I love him for him, not because he's a man. Would he still care about me if I wasn't a woman?" Y/n admitted feeling relieved that she'd finally said her worries aloud.
"Ah, your worries are deep and valid, dear. It's understandable that you'd feel that way. Would you mind if I read you? Take a closer look at your soul." The teal witch said looking wise beyond her years. She'd thought similarly when she met her wife and soulmate. One often searches deeply inside themselves and the other when soulmates are involved.
"Why not? I'm always open to learn a bit about myself. " She said walking over.
A teal lock of wavy hair dropped from the witch's hand as she released it and held out her palm calmly.
Y/n placed her hand into hers and waited. The witch examined her hands, eyes, and face with her experienced gold eyes.
"I'm certain this isn't your first life. You've been both man and woman in your previous lives." The witch said confidently and patted y/n's hand softly to reassure her.
"That doesn't surprise me..." y/n stated, eyes drifting to the floor.
"You've known it for awhile, hun. Well, I do have something. I wouldn't normally bring it out, but since it fits your situation. So, I'll make an exception." She said pulling out a purple potion with blue flecks swirling about inside in a whirlpool like manner.
The sight of such a thing mesmerized her eyes with its lustrous hypnotic swirl.
"It changes one from female to male. The only way to reverse it is to ingest a male to female potion. Make sure to take it before you climb into bed, because it has sleep inducing qualities." The witch continued as she carefully poured some into a small shot glass sized bottle, sealed it, and marked it with the male symbol, before placing it onto the counter in front of y/n.
"Thank you, so much." y/n said paying her and placing it carefully into her bag.
"Not a problem, dear. Would you like the other one as well? Some grow to miss their old body within a week." The witch said pulling out a red glittering potion.
"....Just in case, yes." She said after a moment of thought. The sweet witch had experience with these things after all.
"Alright, dear." She said cheerfully as she poured another small bottle and marked it with the female symbol. Excited for the poor thing to settle the turmoil that resided within her.
"I can't thank you enough!" y/n exclaimed paying for that one too and putting it into her bag as well.
"I wish the greatest of blessings upon you, dear! I hope that man sees you for you!" The Teal witch happily waved as she watched the girl leave.
---
Robin was the only one who knew of what she was going to do. Robin never failed to keep a secret for her and she certainly wasn't about change that.
Once night had arrived she waltzed into the safety of her own room. Sliding under the cool sheets she couldn't help but fantasize of the best possible outcome. Excitement filled her system and she drank the surprisingly sweet potion. A pleasant feeling swept through her that was soon followed by drowsiness and so she slipped away into unconsciousness.

He squinted his eyes from the glaring ray of sun light that peeked past the curtain. Suddenly remembering he raced to the mirror. Amazing, the potion had worked so well. It would take a bit to get used to, but they already had some previously oversized clothes that fit nicely.
Robin, expecting it, casually greeted them as though nothing had changed.
"Morning, Y/n." Robin said as he walked out and sat next to her for their usual morning reading session.
"WAIT Y/N???" Ussop yelled confusedly, nearly dropping the project he was working on.
"Yes, Ussop?" y/n asked normally, turning toward him as he lowered his book.
"WHAT HAPPENED???" he yelled again.
"Oh, I bought a potion from a nice witch lady." Y/n answered casually going back to his book.
"That sounds SUUUUPERRR!" Franky yelled popping into the conversation for a moment.
"Thank you, Franky, it is." Y/n said with a smile.
"Did it hurt?" Chopper asked peaking around the corner, since he was playing hide and seek with Luffy.
"Not at all, it tasted sweet and made me sleepy." Y/n answered calmly as he turned a page.
"I wanna meet the nice witch lady!" Luffy exclaimed as he fell out of an orange tree.
"STAY OUT OF MY ORANGE TREES!" Nami yelled as she ran over and grabbed all the oranges that fell before Luffy could get them.
"I don't think the nice witch lady would appreciate you running all over her shop, Luffy." Y/n said amused, turning another page.
"Aaaaaw no fair!" Luffy whined as he rubbed the new bump on his head.
"Nami-swaaan! Robin-chwaaan! Y/n- Who are you?" Sanji said walking out of the kitchen with a morning snack only to be surprised by a familiar, yet new face.
"A nice witch lady gave y/n a potion!" Chopper said with adorable enthusiasm.
Sanji just froze with a blank stare, Chopper panicked, and Luffy started poking Sanji.
Suddenly it clicked and Sanji quickly placed down the snacks on a nearby table and sped off to the kitchen.
===[edited^]=== ---
Sanji didn't talk to y/n much all day. He seemed... distant.
Evening came around and everyone was having fun on the beach. Robin was comfortably reading a book and laying on a beach towel beneath an umbrella, Nami yelling at Luffy, and the others were messing around with crabs.
"Sanji! Mind if I help?" Y/n walked up happily offering to help him cook the crabs like he always did.
Looking away Sanji held out a ready to be cooked crab and said nothing the entire time. The silence began to bother y/n a little bit.
"Are you alright?" He asked Sanji quietly to avoid drawing attention.
".....why?" Sanji asked looking down.
"Why what?" Y/n said confusedly.
"Why did you take the potion? I- never mind..." He said refusing to look up.
"What? What is it?" y/n stared at him.
"It's nothing." Sanji said glancing at him for second and turning away.
"It clearly isn't nothing."
"I-..."
"I what?!"
"You were better before this!"
"I can't BELIEVE you!" y/n yelled standing up and running off.
Sanji angrily focused on the crab and Luffy looked up at with a frown.
Luffy walked off after y/n.
---
Sobbing echoed from the cave as Luffy walked closer. His frown dropped further when he saw y/n curled in a weeping ball. He sat next to him and gently placed his hat onto his head.
Y/n calmed down a bit and leaned against him before he began to talk.
"Luffy, Sanji doesn't like me for who I am. I love him with everything I am. Why can't he just love me. Does it matter if I'm a woman or not? I want my best friend back. I'm still the same y/n aren't I?" y/n began to cry again.
Luffy looked down quietly for a moment.
"Y/n is y/n no matter what. He's wrong for being upset with you. You'll always be our y/n." Luffy said as he turned to him and smiled.
Y/n hugged Luffy tightly.
"Thank you...thank you so much, Luffy." He said slowly letting go, giving Luffy his hat back as well as a teary eyed smile.
They got up and walked into town, since Luffy agreed to let them stay the night in an inn. He gave Luffy a piece of paper with his room number and the symbol of the inn drawn on it in case they needed to find him. Y/n hugged Luffy once more before he headed back to the rest of the crew.
---
The had nearly set by the time Luffy returned.
"Luffy? Where's y/n?" Ussop and Nami asked when they noticed that he had returned alone.
"In town." he answered with a rare frown.
"What???! Why?!" Both of them yelled confused.
"He isn't coming back tonight." He said turning to Sanji, who was staring at the sand with his hair covering both his eyes.
Everyone turned to Sanji. They all heard what he said to y/n.
"Apologize to y/n." Luffy demanded looking at Sanji seriously.
"I agree. You weren't exactly pleasant to y/n today." Zoro said getting up and standing next to Luffy.
"Cruel more like it." Ussop stated glaring over his shoulder from where he sat.
"...Yeah." Chopper sadly mumbled next to Ussop.
"Captain's right." Robin said not looking up from her book.
"Not Suuuperrr." Franky said lacking passion.
"Horrible..." Nami whispered.
Luffy walked closer and held out the paper in front of Sanji.
"Go find him and apologize. He'll forgive you." Luffy said pushing the paper against him.
Sanji slowly stood up and grabbed the paper. He finally looked up with a hurt expression.
"Are you sure?" Sanji painfully asked holding in tears and gripping the paper.
"He's your best friend isn't he?" Luffy answered placing a hand onto his shoulder.
Sanji nodded.
"Then go." Luffy said smiling.
Immediately Sanji rushed towards town.
---
He desperately looked for the Symbol. One path to another, alley after alley, turn after turn, he was beginning to think he'd loose his precious friend.
Who am I kidding. He's not just my best friend. He's also my love. I was just confused by the change in gender. My feelings never left and I got frustrated and took it out on him. It doesn't matter, y/n is y/n. I need to see him. I have to. I can't loose him.
As he ran around the corner hope rushed back into him at the sight of the inn.
He quickly apologized to poor man at the desk for bothering him at such a late hour. He scoured the place for the number that marked the room of his love.
"13..." he whispered at the sight of it.
Softly he knocked on the door. Anxiety crawled up his back as his worst fear arose from the depths of his mind.
What if he doesn't forgive me? I'll never forgive myself if he leaves because of me.
The door opened and wild disheveled y/n appeared. They looked at him for a second... and closed the door.
He knocked again.
"Please, y/n. Please talk to me. At least listen." He pleaded.
The door opened again and Sanji walked in. Y/n closed the door behind him and turned towards Sanji silently.
Remorse and longing filled his heart from just seeing him. Sanji couldn't help but quickly pull y/n into a needy hug.
Tears soaked into y/n's shirt as he pulled him in as close as possible.
"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. I was frustrated with my own feelings and took it out on you. I was wrong. I was so wrong. I'm sorry. Please don't leave. Please, I love you. Don't leave me. You're my best friend and my love. Don't leave." His tears escaped rapidly and his breath grew unsteady.
His shaky hands grasped y/n's shirt.
Y/n wrapped his arms around Sanji and leaned into him. Tears began to escape from him as well.
"I forgive you. I'm sorry I yelled. I shouldn't have pushed you to tell me. I understand. I love you too and I'm not going anywhere. It's gonna be alright. C'mon, you can stay here with me tonight." Y/n whispered and gently led him to the bed.
Taking off his shoes and vest Sanji crawled under the sheets. Y/n turned the light off and crawled in too.
He pulled Sanji in close so his head rest upon his chest and began to run his hands through the messy blonde hair.
"Shhhhh, rest easy, my precious Prince." y/n whispered softly kissing his forehead.
"I will, my love." Sanji tiredly answered nuzzling further into his chest and placing a soft kiss onto his collar bone.
They slept better than ever before that night.

Just found your blog and it's so good to see a HC blog that's active, and I love the style you write yours in. Could I get some hcs for Zoro, Usopp, Sanji and Ace with an S/O who's a strong magic user? i.e. S/O is no slouch on the battlefield with their spells, and during calmer moments like when S/O is crafting a potion/preparing a ritual spell, they can faintly see the outlines of fae/sprites and other magic creatures normally invisible to the normal eye, but are drawn to their S/O.
Thanks so much! (I have a style?? cool) I feel bad you complimented me being active only for me to take so long to get to this one…OTL I am active I promise, work’s just been a bit crazy lately BUT THANKS FOR YOUR PATIENCEThis one was very interesting and since OP hasn’t really touched on the whole magic thing (I mean there’s been some cases of it) this is kinda au kinda not…if that makes sense
Anywho thanks for waiting and I hope you like it!!
Zoro, Usopp, Sanji, and Ace with a s/o who is a strong magic user:
Zoro
Zoro doesn’t really understand Magic or anything about it, but totally thinks his s/o is one badass mofo
Obviously quite proud
“I’ll stick to my swords and you can do your…hand..motion hocus pocus thing…”
“Zoro, its called magic. It really isn’t that difficult.”
It’s inevitable that the two will get into a Sword vs Magic argument, but it’s all in good fun. The two respect each other too much to cause any problems
His s/o is a bit of a jokester and will play pranks on the rest of the crew
One time they cast a spell on Sanji that made him an old man for a couple hours and he ran around to Nami and Robin trying to convince them they needed to kiss him to break the curse
Zoro never let him forget that one
On the battlefield, Zoro never gets tired of watching his s/o annihilate their enemies, whether it be via fireballs, thunderstorms, even gravity
He’ll ask his s/o to train with him and develop these crazy practices that revolves around them casting spells at Zoro as he tries to defend himself
In the quieter moments, his s/o is content to read a book while he sleeps in the corner, most of the time they’ll be chatting excitedly about a new spell they developed and want to try in battle and Zoro will doze off with a smile on his face
But just before he fell asleep, he sees some odd shapes gathering around his s/o…?
Nah must have been a trick of the light
…Gotta remember to ask ‘em if they can summon me up some sake…?
Usopp
Needless to say, Usopp is the Number 1 Fan of his s/o
He thinks they are absolutely the coolest thing to ever have existed and will say so to anyone within a mile radius who will listen to him
Being the magnificent storyteller he is, you can bet the simple feat of his s.o warding off some bandits with a fireball will turn into…‘‘AND THEN THEY BROUGHT FORTH AN ERUPTION OF THE GREAT VOLCANO FIRETOP TO RAIN DOWN HELL ON ALL WHO DARE CHALLENGE THEM.”
Generally how most of the stories go~
His s/o will be amused and mention that they can’t actually make volcanoes erupt…
They also help Usopp in coming up with new ideas for weapons and improvements for previous ones, as well as helping him craft pretty deadly stuff for his slingshots
They can even enchant them to make it much stronger
A lot of times the two will just sit in a room, back-to-back as they work on their own separate projects
One time, Usopp leaned over to ask them something real quick when he noticed a faint outline leaning over his s/o shoulder
‘It’s kinda like when I thought I saw Merry…’
He’s not sure if he should ask them about it or if it was even there at all
Maybe he’s just delusional
His s/o eventually notices him staring at the space next to them
“You can see them too? They help me out when I’m in a pinch.”
If that’s not the coolest thing in the world, Usopp doesn’t know what is…
After that his stories become even more elaborate
According to him, his s/o has contracts with dragons, leviathans, and all sorts of creatures that do their bidding at will
Sanji
Sanji loves watching his s/o tear through a fight with their impressive powers, although he won’t admit it
He’s the first to sing their praises after a good fight and the last to stop
While Sanji is preparing food in the galley, his s/o is always close by with a book and a pad of paper
They enjoy going on and on about their craft and Sanji couldn’t be more enthralled
He loves listening to them go on about new spells, and improved potions and oh I should try this out next time and watching the way their face lights up in the process
They also offer what advice they can to him about new recipes, mostly on adjusting proportions and the like because that’s something they do often when it comes to potions
Sanji in turn offers what he knows of different ingredients and their properties, usually unknowingly helping his s/o discover that last piece of the puzzle they couldn’t figure out
Its in times like these, Sanji’s noticed a faint aura around his s/o…
He thinks he’s crazy at first, but after a couple of days, he realizes there is something there
At first he kinda panics that something is trying to harm his s/o but after watching closely, Sanji comes to the conclusion that they must be helping his s/o in some way
Because of course they gather to his s/o, they’re just that kind of a person
Ace
Ace was skeptical of the whole ‘magic’ thing and wasn’t really sure what to think of it
However, that quickly changed once he watched his s/o for the first time light someone on fire…
He decided magic is pretty cool after that
The two work well together on the battlefield and have even been called ‘The Flaming Duo’ by the rest of the crew, due to his s/o having a natural affinity for fire magic
…not to say they didn’t need to employ some water magic to put out stuff Ace accidentally lights on fire
The two will often be found together, either training, eating, or sleeping
Ace is an excellent punching bag when it comes to trying out new spells due to his logia
Although after nearly setting the ship on fire, they weren’t allowed to practice on the ship anymore (it was one time)
He doesn’t really understand magic or how it works, but he won’t complain when his s/o animatedly tries to explain it to him
Honestly he was lost 5 minutes into the explanation but didn’t dare stop them when they looked so happy to share their craft with him
Ace does have to interrupt them when they get to the summoning bit…
“So you can conjure up some food then? I’m starving!”
“Uh..no Ace. That’s not how this works.”
“Even just a sandwich?”
“….no.”
He sighs, but lets them continue on with their explanation
When he focuses more clearly on his s/o, he spots a hazy outline of something he can’t quite make out…
Weird
He gets up to take a closer look when he instantly falls down onto his s/o…asleep. A frequent occurrence honestly
Guess it’ll have to wait til morning

5, 7, 8, 16, 32 and 33 for ask writer meme :D
Making me do work xD I love you tho
Based off this thing
5. Share one of your strengths.
Ummmmm. I honestly dont know I feel like I’m bland at everything? Does projecting myself onto characters and messing up in terms of their personalities count???
7. Share a snippet from one of your favorite pieces of prose you’ve written and explain why you’re proud of it.
I am in literally 8345678987654321 fandoms and have no idea what a prose is but since i dont really have any favorite quotes for my one piece fics I guess I’ll choose from the jaytim/sheith crossover i never updated:
“Dick Grayson was many things. He was an acrobat. He was a proud circus performer. He was the first Robin. He was Nightwing. He was Bludhaven’s rookie cop. He was the leader of the Titans, well on his way to being a part of the Justice League. But most importantly, he was an annoyed older brother.”
I love this quote because it was the first time i felt like i really understood Dick Grayson as a character. The fandom always portrays him as sunshine and rainbows but he’s very much human. He gets angry, he gets annoyed, hes imperfect. Thats what makes him one of my favorite characters in batman, or in DC as a whole.
8. Share a snippet from one of your favorite dialogue scenes you’ve written and explain why you’re proud of it.
And here you will see I’m Zosan trash.
“Thank you for telling me.”
“No problem, curly. Thank you for trusting me.”
“Zoro…do you think the All Blue exists? I mean, being the greatest swordsman is something you can achieve. But the All Blue…I could spend my whole like chasing a fairy tell.”
“Trust me, it exists, Sanji. And you’ll find it.”
ajhdfeskrtjsletrty. 12,412 words of pure smut and I had to add this little bit because its CANON THEY BOTH TRUST AND RESPECT EACH OTHER. I’m zosan trash ;-; I love them so much
16. If you only could write one pairing for the rest of your life, which pairing would it be?
ONLY ONE????? Y U DO DIS?? ahhhhhh. Jaytim or sheith??? mostly because both pairings have so much history and chemistry I can literally never run out of ideas….(except when i do ;-;) Im a slut for enemies to lovers, angst and hurt comfort. why am i like this
32. How do you feel about smut?
I’m not very good at writing it but i have read it so much I can read it in public with a straight face. I love me my good, wholesome smut. especially if its a slowbuild fic. or a fic where they arent good with words so they show their emotions through action. WHOLESOME
33. How do you feel about crack?
I LOVE MY CRACK FICS. AS A GINTAMA FAN, EVERYTHING CAN BE CRACK FICS. ESPECIALLY WHEN WELL DONE YES PLS.

The reason I think Zoro is abusive to Sanji is because he treats him like he isn't even a human. It's gone BEYOND bickering. I get that friends argue, but friends don't treat friends as if they mean nothing. Zoro reminds me so much of so many of my childhood bullies; the things he does, says, and just the way he hold himself. They do have normal arguments, but they usually start or end with Zoro saying something awful. FRIENDS DON'T TREAT FRIENDS LIKE THEY'RE WORTHLESS
Also, I noticed that in the tags to that post you said that you weren’t sure if you had changed my mind or just spit in my face; do you really think THAT changed my mind? Maybe you would have, if you hadn’t been so mean and aggressive about it. I’m always open to changing my opinion if there is proper information to support it, but because you decided that my question warranted aggression I probably won’t. Personally I would have answered any ask more politely but that might just be me.
First up, I would like to acknowledge two things: I was passive aggressive. I was very frustrated at the time because I like to talk. I like to express myself in the written form and that frustration bled into my language. I apologise if my words read hatefully towards you. I also should have been conscious that I had no idea what sort of context you were speaking from but I would like to state given the information on you I had available at the time, I wrongfully assumed you were going to be speaking from sort of puritanical, anti-problematic anything stance. If that is not the case, I doubly apologise and I hope you feel as though this is coming from the bottom of my heart because I am genuinely apologising.
Secondly, I would like to acknowledge that I am definitely projecting onto canon for where i’m going to pull my interpretations on hence, why I included that reply - not because I think the person who left said reply is the same person has asked for an explanation as to how I perceive the canon dynamics and relationships of Sanji between the two Strawhats in question.
I one hundred percent wholly believe in the True Companions and Found Family tropes the Strawhats are built on. Are made of. I realise there is a lot of bias because I have an embarassingly deep desire to have a friendship group that emulates the Strawhats due to my own experiences in real life friendships. Perhaps I’ve been socialised to accept what goes beyond the boundaries of “normal friendships” and this is completely screwed bias talking but….
I refuse to let anyone slander their canon relationships of friendships, of nakama, of familial bonds.
Sanji and Zoro are built on the comical trope of bickering. One Piece is a comedy. Their friction is played for laughs because it is shown time and time again that when the going gets tough, well they stick it out together. That is the formula their platonic relationship works on.
However, fanon is a completely different issue. Seeing your childhood bullies in Zoro is fanon. Seeing romantic relationships between most of the characters is fanon. Seeing abusive or hateful relationships between the Strawhats is most definitely fanon since time and time again, the Strawhats have proven they would go through Hell for each other. Each and everyone one of them would. Every single combination of them would because they love each other: they’re what I could consider platonic soul mates. Including Sanji and Zoro.
Unfortunately Anon, the best advice I can give to you to this ridiculous discourse to an end is that you have to learn to cherry pick your fanon better. Blacklist characters you don’t like. Blacklist ships and buzz words you hate. Avoid the stripes of artists and writers who don’t cut it for you. That’s okay.
Everyone brings their personal context to a piece of media first and foremost and that affects how they will react and interpret.
My next piece of advice is that if you think you’ll dislike something, don’t bother asking those who like it why they like it. Even if you have the intention of wanting to be open minded and wanting to change your own mind, it never ends well.
You’re allowed to have the most popular ships in fandom as your NOTPs and you’re allowed to say that. I have. On this very blog. I have mentioned time and time again that I dislike LawLu/most Luffy ships in general. So, I just avoid and blacklist whilst maintaining a belief of “ship and let ship” because I accept and acknowledge people will have differing perceptions of media. I love the diversity. Sometimes, it leads to conflict but sometimes, it can lead to something beautiful.
TLDR: blacklist, unfollow, block and avoid because we all have different experiences and those experiences will affect perceptions of media and surround yourself with fanon you agree with.
And please don’t try and find my main. I don’t want this there either.
So, to conclude: have a nice day, Anon.
- Mod Strawhat

Look at Me
( Nov 10, 2020 )
Sanji x fem reader Platonic Ace x fem reader
Two. It had always been just the two of them. They only had eachother.
He was bruised and she was alone. His brothers hated him and her parents died. They were both separated from the other children.
She never felt more alone than amidst the group. Boisterous voices echoed from a distance, never truly entering her mind. The floor was far more fascinating and rather open minded compared to her peers.
A flash of gold passed her peripheral vision. She looked up to see a bandaged blond boy hiding behind the birch tree next to the swing set. She'd seen him in class before; he was always covered in some form of bandage or bruise. He was the only one, other than her, that wasn't part of the group.
It was now or never to make a friend. Small town mentality meant few moved away and those who did never left alone.
"Hi?" She said approaching the small boy cautiously.
"Um, hello." He answered avoiding her gaze.
"Would you like to sit with me at lunch? My grandma made me some cookies." She asked, offering a small bribe.
"Yes! I mean, yes please." He said lighting up with excitement immediately.
They'd unknowingly made their first and soon to be best friend that day.
---
Blue. His eye color and the hue of the bracelets she made for them. His had a sun pendant and hers had a moon.
"Sanji! I have a present for you!" Y/n yelled as she ran toward him.
"Really?!" He never got a present from anyone other than his mother, who had passed a few years ago.
"Yeah, hold out your hand for me and close your eyes ok?" She said happily.
"Ok!" He said quickly obeying.
He felt something cold and oddly shaped slide over his hand and onto his wrist.
"Open!" Y/n exclaimed.
He looked to see the ocean blue bracelet wrapped around his wrist. It was a little big, but nothing he couldn't grow into.
"I have one too!" She held out her arm for him to see.
"We match!" He said grabbing her hand to admire her work better.
"Yup! It means we'll be together forever!" She tangled her fingers with his.
"Seriously?!" His voice raised in pitch.
"Yeah, promise?" Y/n pulled him closer leaning her forehead against his.
"Promise!" He said happily flush faced as he leaned against her in return.
---
She sat across from him focusing desperately on the homework before her. It was becoming more difficult by the second to keep a neutral expression.
He wouldn't shut up about the lovely ladies in their school, especially the new red headed girl.
A new girl named Nami had moved in recently. New people were rare. Nami girl could be nice when she wanted to be, but otherwise Y/n didn't see much to like about her. She had nothing against Nami, she wasn't a horrible person, but she couldn't see what was so special about her. Nothing really stood out other than her hair. Maybe it was the hair.
Regardless, Sanji kept talking about how beautiful she was, "A radiant jewel" as he put it. It wasn't uncommon for him to go off about women, but the fact the fresh blood set him off to a whole new level.
"Nami's hair is such a beautiful shade of citrine! I simply can't imagine how one could obtain such a hue!"
"Genetics."
"I wonder what she thinks of when her mind wanders off away from the cruel clutches of reality."
"Money, probably."
"Her eyes often gaze at our lovely teacher's necklace. Does she desire such extravagance to decorate herself with?"
"Plotting how to steal it."
"She must-"
"Sanji! This is our last assignment for the year and it's due tomorrow. Focus or at least do something beside ponder Nami's existence."
"But-"
"I will steal every fork you own. Now focus on something else, please. Your tangerine obsession is distracting."
"Alright..." Finally he left the subject behind and looked to his paper.
This was just sad. He couldn't understand any of the problems.
"Y/n?"
"Yes?"
"How do I find X?"
She looked up from her final question and decided it could wait.
Getting up from her side of the table she slid beside him and began explaining.
He always smelled of whatever delicious thing he cooked that day. Today it had definitely been a pasta.
Leaning against him to see better was possibly a bad idea. She always wanted more. Being physically close wasn't rare for them, but as time passed it became difficult not to desire going a little further.
She couldn't help but slowly rest her head on his shoulder as she helped him.
---
Luffy messed up the decorations again, for the third time. Robin simply laughed it off and began again.
"Luffy, go wash off all that red paint, please." Mrs. Makino said with a smile as she walked in to see his little murder scene.
"Shi shi shi. Yes, Mrs. Makino!" Luffy quickly left to wash up with a skip in his step.
"Don't worry, Robin, I'll assign him a different project." Mrs. Makino said as she sat at her desk.
"Thank you, Mrs. Makino." Robin answered sweetly before returning to making decorations.
"Namiiii-swaaa- Oh, hello Mrs. Makino! You look lovely, can't even tell you're five months along." Sanji burst into the room.
"Thank you, Sanji. That's very kind of you. Only four to go!"
"You can do it, Mrs. Makino!" Everyone in the classroom cheered.
"Enough about me, get back to work everyone!" She laughed.
"Nami-swaaaan!"
"Sanji, I'm busy. These stars aren't going to finish themselves." She didn't look up.
"Lovely stars, only angel could create!" He dreamily spouted.
"That's nice. What do you want." Nami grumbled struggling to focus.
"Be my date for the festival!"
Y/n's head shot up, surprising Ace next to her.
"I don't know..." Nami drawled.
"Please, I'll pay!"
"Fine."
"Yes!"
Y/n slid down in her seat and gazed hazily at the ceiling.
"You alright?" Ace poked her cheek.
"Sanji and I go together every year. Now, what am I gonna do?"
The tiles above became more appealing the longer Sanji bothered Nami with date plans. This detail didn't pass by Ace.
"Why don't we go together?" He said temporarily abandoning the project.
"Yeah?" She turned to him.
"Yeah, Can't have you binge watching Fullmetal Alchemist in the dark with a tub of ice cream again." He joked.
"Aaaaw, why not? It's green mint chip and fudge this time."
"Fine, but not without me, after the festival, and you have to share."
"Deal." She shook his outstretched hand humorously.
---
Wooly clouds grazed in the chilly blue above. Her sweater was enough to shield from the cold.
"Yo! Y/n!" The distant voice of Ace running her way reached her ears.
"Hey, Ace!" She ran to meet him and they began to walk to school together.
Students, stalls, and colorful decorations filled the campus.
"Cmon, Ace! Let's get food!" She grabbed his sleeve and pointed to the food stalls.
"Alright, Alright, hungry much?"
"Always."
They laughed and ran to get in line.
---
He was holding at least twelve bags as he tiredly trailed behind Nami. Sanji wasn't going to be able to afford basics at this rate. He might have to stay with Y/n for a bit, not that she ever minded. When he said he'd pay he didn't expect to pay with all he had.
Y/n always split the bill with him on everything. They often carried their things in a large bag and each held a handle as they walked side by side. Y/n always made the effort to make everything equal between them.
"Oh, I like your bracelet." Nami noticed the ocean colored beads.
A dull ache had begun to claw at his heart.
---
"and then he panicked and threw it at Zoro. His hair went from mossy green to shitty green."
"Oh my-*wheeze*" Ace struggled to breath and wiped away tears of laughter.
"That's not even the best part." Y/n said with a smirk.
"How?!" he sat up regaining his composure slightly.
"Picture day!" She burst out laughing.
Ace fell off the bench.
"Please, tell me you have the yearbook." He managed to say between laughs.
"I do."
They headed toward the theater room and continued to tell hilarious stories along the way.
---
Luffy and Shanks, the sex Ed teacher, were dramaticly reenacting a fighting scene on stage. Luffy's stance and acting was so awful it became a comedy.
"Why is he a main character, this is just sad." Nami was one of the few not amused with the "new" version of the play.
Sanji desperately held in his laughter to avoid her wrath. He found Shanks completely in character and Luffy dancing around moronically far too humorous.
Y/n's joyful laugh echoed throughout the room amongst the others. He wanted to join her.
---
"My brother looked like such a dumb ass prancing around like that." Ace said as they grew closer to her home.
"Yeah, but I loved it."
"Agreed."
She unlocked the door and bowed sarcastically for him.
"Oh, why thank you peasant." He said walking in.
"Hey!" Y/n stood up and playfully slapped his shoulder.
---
His sore arms were finally relieved of their burden. The last bag had been placed in Nami's car.
He'd be lying if he said it was the best festival day he'd had. It was actually at the bottom of the list.
He had little money left. She'd rung him dry. He'd have to stay at Y/n's.
He pulled out his sunflower case covered phone and texted Y/n.
---
Enthralled was the only way to describe them as they watched Edward fight on screen. Unfortunately it had to be interrupted by the buzzing of her phone.
"Something going on?" Ace paused the anime.
"Sanji's staying the night and the week too, apparently."
"Wonder what happened. He doesn't normally stay the week." He said confusedly.
"Nami probably spent all his money."
"Ooooh. That makes sense. I should call pops to pick me up. You don't have enough room for both of us staying."
"Thanks, Ace."
"No problem."
---
Shortly after she finished cleaning up a familiar car pulled into her driveway.
She open the door to an exhausted Sanji. Poor boy looked ready to collapse.
"Oh dear, Sanji, please sit down. I'll make some tea." She guided him to the couch.
He flopped down shamelessly and let himself be absorbed into its soft embrace.
"How hard did she work you?" She asked from the kitchen.
"I carried her bags all day, some were heavy even for me, and I have to carry large flour bags around all the time. I counted fifteen when I put them in her car. I paid for everything in those bags. I can barely a buy box of chicken nuggets now."
"Damn." She walked in with the tea and sat down next to him.
He took a sip and sighed. It was perfect, the right temperature, sugar, and milk. She knew him too well.
He set it down and leaned against her.
"I don't know if I can do it again." He sighed.
"Then don't." She stated wrapping an arm around him.
"Wha-" He titled his head up surprised.
"You don't have to do anything."
"But-"
"No, you are far too important to be treated so poorly. You deserve better." She began to rub his back comfortingly.
"She's the only one to actually go out with me. All the others rejected me without hesitation."
"Not all."
"Then who? I'm so lonely every morning and night waking up and falling asleep in an empty home."
"Why not m-" She noticed his empty wrist.
"What?"
She gently grasped his arm and held it up.
"Where's your bracelet? Did you lose it?" She asked in calm yet concerned tone.
"Nami kept bothering me about how much she liked it until I gave it up." He sadly sighed.
"Sanji, you can't just give in to her every whim and want." She flopped onto her side, covering her face. Y/n didn't want him to see how upset she was.
"I'll get it back." He reached out to brush her hands away from her face.
"I gave it to you as a pledge that we'd be together forever." She whispered beginning to sob.
Y/n rolled onto her back and curled up in a ball.
"I'm so sorry. Y/n, please look at me. I'll get it back, promise." He pleaded.
"Promise?" She sniffled peeking out.
"I promise." He held out his pinky.
She laughed a bit and wiped some tears away before intertwining her finger with his.
"Now, that's settled. I could've sworn you were going to say something." He thought aloud.
"No!" Heat began to rise from within her.
"It was something like, 'why not m-', what's that supposed to mean. Why not what?" Curiosity dripped from every word and pooled onto the wooden floor.
"It's nothing." Y/n tried avoiding it. She couldn't look at him. It would give her away.
"You never mean nothing. What-" It clicked and his eyes widened with excitement.
She meant to say "Why not me?". She loves him. SHE LOVES HIM. She'd never rejected him in anyway. He'd jokingly flirt with her from time to time and she never turned him down. How had he not noticed. Such a dream seemed too far out of his reach to even consider.
"Y/n, why didn't you say so~"
Sanji's sudden elation and playfulness made something plummet from within. Had he figured it out?
"Say what?" She hoped she was wrong. Her heart trembled.
"You love me!~" He plopped onto her and nuzzled affectionately into her stomach. He made sure to entangled her in his grasp.
"Aaah, nooooo! You weren't supposed to guess it." The temperature rose to an unbearable level.
"My Y/n-Chwaan loves me!~" He chanted tightening his grip and burying face further into the folds of her shirt.
"I love you too." He stated looking up to her vermilion flustered expression.
"Yeah, yeah, love you." She looked away unable bear the cuteness of his puppy eye and started petting him.
Y/n was fawned over and teased relentlessly all night. She couldn't escape his endless adoration.
