🪔 ,
February 23 .. birthday greetings to Ef Girish Badave .. and Ef Swati Seth ..
💐 .. wedding anniversary greetings to Ef Ashesh Dave and his respected wife Bhumika .. for February 23 .. 🙏🏻❤️💐
💐 .. wedding anniversary greetings to Ef Amit Fuhaar & his respected wife Sarita .. for February 21 .. 🙏🏻❤️💐
..
Birthday - Yash Goveas Friday, 23 February .. wishes and the wellness for this day .. Love from the Ef brigade 🌹
( IS THIS DATE 👆🏼 CORRECT OR IS IT JANUARY 30TH ) .. please clarify
A day of work endeth and another day of work stares within .. how to approach it, what would be the right give , how can it be bettered .. and such be the many that arise before the day ends ..
It is and has been the challenge or the fear of creative expectation - if it can be called that .. and that be the driving force for the professional .. will it wont it .. and what next .. complete one and the immediate mind think is , what of the next and whether it shall succumb or survive .. works at times , and not most of the time ..
Leave it to fate they say .. whoever 'they' be .. then it is proclaimed fate be made , not written on some divine blessing .. leaving it to fate and not in endeavour shall ever end in .. no play ..
And thus does the dilemma continue ..
What be in hand to be in judicious usage .. if addition comes good .. if not it was never fated , or desired , or expected .. so say the purists of proclamation ..
Many though work in defiance of the mode, and succeed .. they be blessed .. but endeavour never be ignored .. it does register ..
I endeavour with hope and strength of fulfillment - fulfillment within - all else is peripheral ..
'Success comes to those who dare and act' ..
the words ingrained within .. words written in my autograph book, in my very young days by the great legendary poet , Ram Dhari Singh 'Dinkar' .. his writing his presentation his voice reverberating in volume .. filled with the passion of life and living ...
Many misinterpreted the 'act' word to be in connection with an actor on stage or film .. NO .. 'act' is the act of action, perseverance, tenacity and determination .. when you 'dare' to bring tenacity in your thought word and deed .. then does success embrace you ..
Love and wellness ever ❤️

BREAKING: Veer-Zaara to re-release in more than 600 screens overseas on November 7, making it the BIGGEST Bollywood re-release ever; Shah Rukh Khan-starrer to release in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Oman for the first time
Last week, Bollywood Hungama was among the first to report that Veer-Zaara (2004), starring Shah Rukh Khan and Preity Zinta, will be re-released in foreign markets on November 7. Additionally, the song 'Yeh Hum Aa Gaye Hai Kahaan' has been included to the print. The song was omitted during its original release, therefore this is the first time it can be experienced in its entirety on the big screen. Bollywood Hungama has recently revealed more, intriguing facts about the re-release, which will take place just 5 days before its 20th anniversary.
Bollywood Hungama has heard that Veer-Zaara will debut in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Oman. The producers, Yash Raj Films (YRF), have even published a poster commemorating this accomplishment.
And that is not all. A source told Bollywood Hungama that YRF has gone all out with Veer-Zaara's re-release. It will be shown on over 600 screens in international countries. This is perhaps the biggest re-release of a Bollywood film overseas."
Apart from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Oman, Veer-Zaara will be published in the United States, Canada, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Austria, France, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Singapore, Malaysia, and South Africa.
Interestingly, the re-release of Veer-Zaara has sparked excitement among fans of the film. Bookings for the film in Germany began a few days ago, and the response has been positive. As a result, it will not be surprising if Veer-Zaara draws large numbers around the world this weekend.
November 2024, it appears, will be a big month for Shah Rukh Khan. On November 2, he turned 59. This will be followed by the re-release of Veer-Zaara overseas, and on November 22, his other outstanding picture, Karan Arjun (1995), will be re-released worldwide, that is, in India and foreign regions.
Veer-Zaara, directed by Yash Chopra, tells the story of a Squadron Leader in the Indian Air Force who falls in love with a young Pakistani girl while visiting India. Things take a turn when he travels to Pakistan to meet her and is detained on incorrect accusations. He spends 22 years in prison before receiving assistance from a fierce Pakistani lawyer. The epic love drama also starred Rani Mukerji, Divya Dutta, Kirron Kher, and Manoj Bajpayee, with extended cameos from Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini.

Dharamputra
"Dharamputra", directed by Yash Chopra, intertwines themes of identity, religious division, and the social unrest that defined pre- and post-independence India (1925-1947). Set against this backdrop, the film delves into the story of Husn Bano, a young, unwed Muslim mother forced to give up her son due to societal pressures.
The film explores the human cost of such pressures, particularly on the identity of Indian Muslims. It exposes the phenomenon of "othering," where a dominant group constructs the "other" as different and potentially threatening. This concept becomes tragically relevant in the wake of Partition, as Dilip, raised as a Hindu and indoctrinated with nationalist fervor, struggles to reconcile his upbringing with the sudden revelation of his Muslim heritage.
Dilip's transformation from innocence to bigotry reflects the escalating religious tensions of the era. He embodies the "othering" process, becoming a staunch Hindu fundamentalist who actively opposes non-Hindu beliefs. As Sony Jalarajan Raj and Adith K. Suresh discuss in Reframing Islam in bollywood cinema: a study on the construction of the Islamic identity in Indian cinema, "Partition of the Indian subcontinent unilaterally separated individuals into elusive categorizations of ‘us’ and ‘them’". The film portrays the loss of a shared Hindu-Muslim identity post-Partition, highlighting the devastating impact of societal pressures and nationalistic ideology on individuals and communities.
In conclusion, while "Dharamputra" doesn't explicitly offer a path towards healing the divides, it is a reminder of the human cost of religious polarization and the enduring need for understanding and tolerance in a divided world. By showcasing the tragic consequences of othering and the loss of identity, the film compels viewers to critically examine their own biases.

🦇 Sleepless in Dubai Book Review 🦇
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐
❝ “Be the light. No matter how much our flame dims over the year, this is a time for renewal. Don’t let the negative energy keep you in the dark. Bring your flame back to life, let it roar, and be brighter than ever." ❞
❓ #QOTD What's your favorite Middle Eastern or Indian food? OR What's your favorite holiday? ❓ 🦇 High school senior Nikki is ready to celebrate Diwali in style—not at home, but during a five-day trip to Dubai! There's only one hitch: her childhood friend and neighbor, Yash, is coming with his family. After a fight at the beginning of the summer, they've been estranged. To celebrate the true meaning of Diwali (and earn back her parents' trust), can Nikki let go of her dark resentment to let light and forgiveness in?
[ Find my review below or on Goodreads | Literal | Storygraph ]
💜 The bookish bats who know me are aware that a) I'm Middle Eastern and b) I love books by South Asian authors that make you salivate because of all the delicious food. The moment Nikki mentioned Arabic coffee, I was like, "This is my girl." I've had the fortune of traveling to Dubai before and can attest to its stunning sights, so I connected with the story right away. Yash is adorable, Nikki's little sister is a freaking HOOT (I have three younger sisters, so I felt Nikki's mixed frustration/amusement). Reading this book was an adventure through Dubai without the long, exhausting flight. Getting to celebrate Diwali with Nikki through the food and customs was an absolute delight.
🦇 Unfortunately, Nikki is a difficult character to love from the start. While this is listed as YA (Nikki is about to start her senior year of high school), she's stubborn, childish, and a bit of a crybaby. She reminded me a little bit of Usagi from Sailor Moon. Her stubbornness toward Yash doesn't relent for most of the story, and since there's technically a third-act breakup, it takes a long time for her character development to really come into effect. Nikki's voice is off at times, too; the random "Bros" and ending her thoughts with exclamation points only make her seem younger (even though she wants her parents to recognize her maturity). Though the vacation only spans five days, the story drags at times, too. The biggest issue for me was the predictability; from the first chapter, anyone YA reader can guess every plot point moving forward. While the rich culture of Dubai dazzles and lives up to the real-world splendor, the rest of the story fell flat for me.
🦇 Recommended to fans of YA, books with TONS of delicious food worth salivating over, and friends-to-lovers stories with plenty of angst.

⌝ Typically Yashica was able to wait until morning before she left work, she could keep herself in Supernaturals until the sun rose and she could walk to grab a coffee and do the rest of her day before she inevitably collapsed and slept for a few hours in bed at home. She didn't need to be outside in the evening air. However, tonight she had promised the building manager she'd be back inside before three am so that he could shut down the building buzzers while they were replaced - meaning she wouldn't be able to get back inside after three until at least the following afternoon.
⌝. So Yash had prepared, or so she thought, walking along the desolate week night streets of South Opulence in the direction of her apartment in Descray. The mortal girl had an industrial size flashlight she had been testing for a few nights, she made sure not to bring her typically large purse and instead had a backpack on her and she just needed to make it home. It hadn't quite occured to her that testing the light with such frequency would mean she was using the battery, a lot of battery, and as she rounded a corner in Descray towards her home the brilliant light illuminating the dirty street began to flicker.
⌝ "Don't - don't do this," Yash practically stuttered as her palm hit the slide of the light, temporarily holding it's brilliance while the young woman paused where she stood, brown ballet flats pressed to one another alongside the length of her feet to keep her steady as her whole body seemed to quiver and her heart rate began to increase. "Seriously?" Yashica grew frustrating, a thud with a rattle of batteries in plastic each time she hit the light, a few times it returned, but eventually the violence she was putting against it was not enough to retain the light and Yash was left with only flickering dull street lights.
⌝ The girl did not cope well with this, the pounding in her chest growing into an erratic pounding, her breath becoming hard. Yashica tried to focus on where there was light, rushing forward to stand beneath the street light but in doing so she dropped the flashlight, object hitting the concrete hard and shattering, causing Yashica to let out a violent scream that echoed through the streets, high pitched and ripping through the cool night air.

Jaideep Sahni is a name synonymous with creativity, innovation, and emotional depth in Bollywood’s storytelling landscape. As one of the most celebrated lyricists and screenwriters, Sahni’s works have not only redefined Indian cinema but also left an indelible mark on the hearts of millions. His journey from an ordinary individual to a powerhouse of talent in the film industry is both inspiring and fascinating. This article delves into the life, career, and legacy of Jaideep Sahni, unraveling the story of a man whose words and vision transformed Bollywood.
The Early Days: Discovering the Art of Storytelling
Born and raised in Delhi, Jaideep Sahni grew up amidst a melting pot of cultures, languages, and traditions. This multicultural environment played a pivotal role in shaping his storytelling abilities. Sahni wasn’t always destined for Bollywood. Like many young Indians, he initially pursued a conventional career path, working in the corporate sector as a software engineer. However, his love for writing and storytelling eventually led him to quit his job and pursue his passion.
Sahni began his journey as a copywriter in advertising, where he honed his craft of concise, impactful messaging. His advertising stint became the perfect training ground for what was to come — a career where every word would carry emotional weight and meaning.
The Breakthrough: Writing His Way into Bollywood
Jaideep Sahni’s entry into Bollywood wasn’t just a stroke of luck but a culmination of years of perseverance and creative exploration. His first notable project was the screenplay for the film Jungle (2000), a unique take on the human-animal conflict. However, it was his work in Company (2002), a gritty gangster drama directed by Ram Gopal Varma, that catapulted him to fame. The realistic portrayal of the underworld and sharp dialogues established Sahni as a writer to watch.
His talent for creating relatable, nuanced characters and weaving gripping narratives quickly caught the attention of the industry’s top filmmakers. Yash Raj Films, one of Bollywood’s most prestigious production houses, became a key collaborator in Sahni’s career. Together, they created some of the most iconic films of the 2000s.

Jaideep Sahni’s versatility as a storyteller shines through his diverse filmography. Each project he has undertaken reflects a unique perspective and a deep understanding of human emotions.
Chak De! India (2007): This sports drama, starring Shah Rukh Khan, remains one of Bollywood’s most inspiring films. Sahni’s screenplay and dialogues infused life into the story of a disgraced hockey coach leading an underdog women’s team to victory. The film resonated with audiences globally, turning phrases like “Sattar minute” (seventy minutes) into cultural touchstones.
Bunty Aur Babli (2005): A vibrant and quirky tale of two small-town dreamers, this film showcased Sahni’s ability to craft light-hearted yet meaningful narratives. The film’s dialogues and lyrics, especially the hit song Kajra Re, became a sensation.
Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year (2009): A heartfelt exploration of corporate ethics and entrepreneurship, this film reflected Sahni’s knack for addressing social issues with sensitivity.
Through these films, Sahni not only entertained but also initiated important conversations about ambition, identity, and societal change.
The Magic of Sahni’s Lyrics
As a lyricist, Jaideep Sahni has an uncanny ability to translate complex emotions into simple yet impactful words. His lyrics often reflect a deep understanding of human experiences, blending poetic beauty with everyday language. For instance, the song Khoon Chala from Rang De Basanti (2006) is a poignant commentary on the sacrifices made for change, while Behti Hawa Sa Tha Woh from 3 Idiots captures the essence of freedom and nostalgia.
Sahni’s lyrics transcend time and genres, resonating with listeners across generations. His songs are not just musical compositions but emotional journeys that stay with the audience long after the credits roll.
Collaborations and Legacy
Jaideep Sahni’s collaborations with directors like Shimit Amin, Shaad Ali, and Ram Gopal Varma have been pivotal in creating cinematic masterpieces. The Musical Legacy of Jab Tak Hai Jaan
Released in 2012, Jab Tak Hai Jaan holds a special place in Bollywood history, being the final film directed by the legendary Yash Chopra. Known as the "King of Romance," Chopra created a timeless cinematic style rooted in love, beauty, and deep emotional resonance. His partnership with A.R. Rahman, one of India's most celebrated music composers, brought a fresh, contemporary sound to the film's soundtrack, while lyricist Gulzar added his poetic touch. Together, they crafted songs that elevated Jab Tak Hai Jaan into a beautiful blend of melody, emotion, and cinematic beauty. It’s a soundtrack we often share on Ruh Radio 1440 AM, where timeless melodies like these find a home and continue to touch listeners' hearts.
Let’s take a closer look at each song and what makes this album unforgettable.
1. "Challa"
"Challa" is the album’s first track and one of the most popular songs. Sung by Rabbi Shergill, known for his Sufi-influenced style, the song features Shah Rukh Khan wandering the streets of London, strumming his guitar as he reflects on life, love, and destiny. The lyrics by Gulzar are introspective, full of a sense of wonder, as Challa (meaning "wanderer") searches for a place to belong. A.R. Rahman’s composition infuses the track with a contemporary folk vibe that captures the loneliness and mystery of a person trying to find his purpose in life.
2. "Saans"
"Saans" is the heart of Jab Tak Hai Jaan's love story, often considered one of the most sensual and romantic songs in Bollywood. Sung by Shreya Ghoshal and Mohit Chauhan, the song captures the essence of longing and the euphoria of being close to someone you love. Rahman’s orchestration here is lush and evocative, blending strings with piano to create a soft yet intense backdrop for the vocals. Gulzar's lyrics describe the ache of separation and the relief of reuniting, with the line "Saans mein teri saans mili toh mujhe saans aayi" ("I breathed only when I breathed in your breath") becoming particularly iconic. The song, featured on Katrina Kaif and Shah Rukh Khan, is beautifully shot and choreographed, capturing the simmering intensity between the two characters.
3. "Ishq Shava"
This upbeat, fast-paced song adds a burst of energy to the album. Sung by Shilpa Rao and Raghav Mathur, "Ishq Shava" captures the excitement and daring of young love, with Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif dancing through a fiery, high-energy sequence in a London nightclub. Rahman’s composition combines Arabic influences with modern beats, creating a lively and catchy track that’s perfect for a dance number. The lyrics reflect the thrill of surrendering to love, daring to live in the moment, and letting go of inhibitions. "Ishq Shava" stands out for its playful yet passionate appeal and is remembered for its unique choreography and dynamic visuals.
4. "Heer"
One of the most soulful and poignant songs in the album, "Heer" is inspired by the tragic love story of Heer-Ranjha from Punjabi folklore. Sung beautifully by Harshdeep Kaur, the song is a traditional Punjabi folk melody that captures the timeless, melancholy nature of true love. Gulzar’s lyrics draw on the sorrow and endurance of Heer’s character, who pines for her lost love. The song resonates with deep emotions, and Rahman’s arrangement keeps the melody simple yet haunting, emphasizing the powerful vocals. "Heer" reflects the deep-rooted pain and yearning that underline the love story in Jab Tak Hai Jaan, resonating with anyone who has experienced unfulfilled love.
5. "Jiya Re"
In stark contrast to the melancholic tone of "Heer," "Jiya Re" is an exuberant and liberating track that celebrates life. Sung by Neeti Mohan, this song represents Anushka Sharma’s character Akira, an adventurous, carefree woman who lives life to the fullest. The track is set in Kashmir and showcases Akira’s vivacious spirit, capturing her joy and love for life. A.R. Rahman adds a blend of Indian and Western beats to create a peppy, upbeat song that is refreshing and inspiring. "Jiya Re" stands out for its energy and represents the idea of living every moment without fear.
6. "Jab Tak Hai Jaan" (Poem Recitations)
In addition to the main songs, the film also features poetic recitations by Shah Rukh Khan that express the core philosophy of the film. The verses, written by Gulzar, are intense, raw, and passionate, capturing the essence of a love that defies time, logic, and even life itself. These recitations are not just poetic interludes but pivotal moments that deepen the film's emotional intensity, bringing out the vulnerability and passion in Khan's character. They resonate deeply with the theme of undying love, the main motif that runs through Jab Tak Hai Jaan.
7. "Jab Tak Hai Jaan" (Title Track)
The title track, "Jab Tak Hai Jaan," sung by Javed Ali and Shakthisree Gopalan, is a soft, melodious expression of devotion and loyalty in love. The music flows like a gentle river, with a haunting rhythm that mirrors the eternal, self-sacrificing nature of love that underpins the movie. Rahman’s minimalist approach here, with soft background instrumentation, allows the lyrics to shine. It serves as a fitting closure to the album, leaving a lasting impression of timeless love.
Conclusion
The Jab Tak Hai Jaan soundtrack is an emotional journey through the many shades of love, from euphoria to longing, independence to devotion. With A.R. Rahman’s versatile compositions, Gulzar’s poetic lyrics, and memorable performances by the singers, the album continues to resonate with audiences. Tracks like these make Jab Tak Hai Jaan a soundtrack we’re proud to share on Ruh Radio 1440 AM—where timeless music finds new listeners every day. It is a fitting tribute to Yash Chopra's legacy—a testament to his vision of love that transcends time, lives, and even death. Through this album, Jab Tak Hai Jaan remains not just a film but a soulful musical experience, immortalizing Yash Chopra's love for romance and for cinema.

IPL 2025 Mega Auction Dates and Venue Announced by BCCI
IPL 2025 Auction Likely to be Held in Riyadh on November 24-25: The Indian Premier League (IPL) auction has always been a much-anticipated event, drawing global attention as teams battle to build the best squads. For the 2025 season, the excitement has reached new heights, with reports suggesting that the mega auction will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on November 24 and 25. Although the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has yet to officially confirm the location, sources close to the matter indicate that Riyadh is the likely host city.
Franchise Retention Strategies and Key Highlights
All ten IPL franchises have submitted their retention lists, offering glimpses into their team-building approaches for the 2025 season. As teams retained their core players while releasing others, several prominent names have been added to the auction pool, increasing the competition and adding excitement for fans.
Retention Highlights Across Franchises
The franchises have retained 46 players, with a total investment of ₹558.5 crore. Notably, 36 of these players are Indian, including 10 uncapped Indian stars. Here’s a breakdown of major retention decisions:
Mumbai Indians – With five IPL titles, Mumbai Indians have built a strong Indian core by retaining key players like Hardik Pandya, Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, and Suryakumar Yadav. Tilak Varma, a promising young left-hander, also retained his place. Notably, Ishan Kishan, a talented youngster, was released, leaving MI with a ₹45 crore budget for the auction.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru – RCB has opted for a selective approach, retaining only three players: Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar, and Yash Dayal. Kohli commands the highest retention fee at ₹21 crore, giving RCB the second-largest auction purse of ₹83 crore.
Punjab Kings – Surprising many, Punjab Kings chose not to retain any capped players, focusing instead on young talent. They retained only two players, Shashank Singh and Prabhsimran Singh, and hold the largest auction budget at ₹110.5 crore.
Rajasthan Royals – Rajasthan Royals solidified their batting lineup with strategic retentions, although they still seek an additional opener. With the smallest purse of ₹41 crore, RR enters the auction with a precise plan to strengthen its roster.
Chennai Super Kings – MS Dhoni will once again grace the IPL, retained by CSK as an uncapped player. CSK’s strategy combines experience with fresh talent, retaining Dhoni, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shivam Dube, Ravindra Jadeja, and Matheesha Pathirana.

Top Players Entering the Auction Pool
With several renowned players left out of the retention lists, the 2025 auction pool includes high-caliber talent. Here’s a look at some of the notable players available for auction:
Released Indian Captains
The release of Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, and Rishabh Pant has left three experienced Indian captains in the auction pool. Franchises seeking strong leadership may vie for these players, adding an extra layer of excitement to the auction.
England Players in the Auction
Interestingly, no England players were retained by any franchise this season. Major players like Jos Buttler, Liam Livingstone, Jonny Bairstow, Moeen Ali, Sam Curran, Harry Brook, Phil Salt, and Will Jacks will be up for grabs. Their release reflects teams’ concerns about availability, as these players missed parts of the season due to international commitments.
Young and Uncapped Talents
This year’s auction also features a number of unproven Indian talents, with ten uncapped players retained by various teams. These young players offer affordable options and the potential to evolve into match-winners, making them valuable assets in the auction.
