Hippo's DA Celebration!
I think I've probably let it slip that I'm really excited for the next game to come out. Really excited. So excited, that I've decided to celebrate for the entire month of October
Every day, there will be four posts tagged #hippo's da celebration
There will be absolutely no spoilers of VG in any of these posts. I'm celebrating the collective dragon age past. Not what is yet to come
I have four categories of posts. (Yes, I've given this a great deal of thought lol)
#31 days of dragon age (here's the link to the prompts if you want to join in!)
a reblog of one of my favorite dragon age posts I've made over the years
a reblog of a tumblr fanfic prompt I've written
a deep dive into one of my specific world states or one of my favorite Wardens/Hawkes/Inquisitors
This is just my way to remember and to share the joy and happiness (and tears!) I've had over the years because of this game!

BREAKING: Veer-Zaara to re-release in more than 600 screens overseas on November 7, making it the BIGGEST Bollywood re-release ever; Shah Rukh Khan-starrer to release in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Oman for the first time
Last week, Bollywood Hungama was among the first to report that Veer-Zaara (2004), starring Shah Rukh Khan and Preity Zinta, will be re-released in foreign markets on November 7. Additionally, the song 'Yeh Hum Aa Gaye Hai Kahaan' has been included to the print. The song was omitted during its original release, therefore this is the first time it can be experienced in its entirety on the big screen. Bollywood Hungama has recently revealed more, intriguing facts about the re-release, which will take place just 5 days before its 20th anniversary.
Tumblr media
Bollywood Hungama has heard that Veer-Zaara will debut in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Oman. The producers, Yash Raj Films (YRF), have even published a poster commemorating this accomplishment.
And that is not all. A source told Bollywood Hungama that YRF has gone all out with Veer-Zaara's re-release. It will be shown on over 600 screens in international countries. This is perhaps the biggest re-release of a Bollywood film overseas."
Apart from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Oman, Veer-Zaara will be published in the United States, Canada, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Austria, France, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Singapore, Malaysia, and South Africa.
Interestingly, the re-release of Veer-Zaara has sparked excitement among fans of the film. Bookings for the film in Germany began a few days ago, and the response has been positive. As a result, it will not be surprising if Veer-Zaara draws large numbers around the world this weekend.
November 2024, it appears, will be a big month for Shah Rukh Khan. On November 2, he turned 59. This will be followed by the re-release of Veer-Zaara overseas, and on November 22, his other outstanding picture, Karan Arjun (1995), will be re-released worldwide, that is, in India and foreign regions.
Veer-Zaara, directed by Yash Chopra, tells the story of a Squadron Leader in the Indian Air Force who falls in love with a young Pakistani girl while visiting India. Things take a turn when he travels to Pakistan to meet her and is detained on incorrect accusations. He spends 22 years in prison before receiving assistance from a fierce Pakistani lawyer. The epic love drama also starred Rani Mukerji, Divya Dutta, Kirron Kher, and Manoj Bajpayee, with extended cameos from Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini.

After working with Ranbir Kapoor, Karan Johar believes Ranveer Singh's energy was a "cultural shock" for him; he calls him "most indispensable" in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.
Ae Dil Hai Mushkil was directed by Karan Johar and starred Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
Karan Johar, who just released Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, praised Ranveer Singh on set for his energy and passion. Working with Singh, according to Johar, was a "cultural shock" after working with Ranbir Kapoor, who is known for his more controlled enthusiasm.
Tumblr media
"No one brings the kind of energy to a film set that Ranveer Singh does," Johar said. "And before this, I had worked with Ranbir (Kapoor), who actually used to come to the set with a very calm, composed energy during Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. It was a cultural shock for me."
Johar continued, "Then I realised that all the hard work he (Ranveer) puts in, all that enthusiasm and passion he brings, is solely and purely to enhance his performance. I haven't seen this kind of energy before, and I won't see it again, but I knew one thing: he was the most indispensable character in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. There would be no Rocky Randhawa if there wasn't Ranveer Singh."
In terms of the film, RRKPK has earned more than Rs 100 crore at the box office. Aside from Ranveer and Alia Bhatt, the film's ensemble cast also includes Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, and Shabana Azmi.

I've been organizing a bunch of random writing and notes in my Google drive and, notes like this
....then Conflicts happen.
Conflicts are the center of the plot. Don’t ask what they are. Just roll with it please and thank you.
Conor meeting Will is the other center thread of the plot. Feel free to ask about it. We kinda-sorta-mostly figured out what it means. “It was a dark and stormy night when a young boy stared longingly out the windows of his family's farmhouse feeling quite lonely… goblins… elf in the tree… gone…pisses on pine trees… lost… obnoxious dwarf… elf reappears… reluctant friends… meet again… less reluctant friends… tours the forest… meets the king.” You get the point.
Then Conor kills Will’s dad.
JK!!!!!!
But he gets framed for it and is sort of involved in it so in the end he blames himself but it's not entirely his fault because he did do a thing on purpose and it was mostly his uncle but also not really his uncle.
Long in the short of it, Conflicts are spurred to a climax. Farm mom gives birth. Conor makes use of his soldier blood. Will makes him leave. They’ll meet again on the battlefield.
The end.
...make it clear Younger Grayce thought herself very clever.
I remember my brother and I coming up with that on a camping trip and then quickly writing down what we could remember. Good times those were.
Older Grayce is certainly no better, but it sure is great to be able to look back and laugh fondly at one's former self. Even if she is only a year gone. :))

I remember this speech of Katter's. It's people like him, Hanson, Palmer & Dutton that give Queensland a bad reputation with people from other Australian states.
For any non-Australians reading I mean bad, like worse stereotypes about white people from the USA's deep south bad. It's easier if you're travelling with someone who's visibly not white (like with my Mum, or most of her side of family) but otherwise the assumption of many people from NSW/VIC is that you're a virulent racist/homophobe/transphobe with a heavy dose of climate denialist added in. I tend to let my Dad introduce himself first if I'm with him out of state, as he always claims his birth state of NSW & people just assume I was born where he was.
At least that was the assumption, I think three Brisbane seats going Green has finally shown the other states that QLD isn't a monolith. That we have variation just like the other states do.
I'm not a Greens voter at a federal level due to foreign policy differences (I do vote for them at a state level as on domestic issues I tend to be closer to them than to other parties), but I was actually somewhat happy at those Greens wins just because it shows the Southerners that Palmer isn't all QLDers, Hanson isn't all QLDers, Dutton isn't all QLDers. That we aren't a monolith of the worse Australia has to offer. We have differences in opinion like every other state.
Here's our most requested item: Bob Katter's same-sex marriage speech, in all its unhinged glory

When the Shoe Drops
When you're a kid things like going to sports tournaments for your grandma seems trifling. You sit there and wait and wait for hours. You don't care about horseshoe throwing. Frankly, you don't see how it's even a sport. No one is running and it's really just you against another person and then a different person and another for many long, excruciating hours. How can this be entertaining?
However, your parents are gone that weekend and your grandma had a prior obligation so, because your grandpa is so loving and supportive, you and your siblings are in a strange big building with people tossing horseshoes.
There is only the ring of horseshoes pounding dirt, rock, and stakes echoing in your mind. You're not sure how the game works, just that it's really noisy and those noises give you a headache. Your tummy is also rumbling because your loving grandpa has neglected to feed you in a while. The three of you try to watch but turn to toys, coloring books, and even hitting each other to occupy your brains.
By the time the tournament is over, you're so relieved to b going home. You hope that you never have to go to another one, but you will. Until there weren't anymore for you to go to. Because your grandma is aging and getting diagnosed with cancer and you're old enough to stay home alone when your parents leave town.
You now understand how much that sport meant to her and that it really is a sport: You calculate mentally and work physically to throw the horseshoe just right and.... DING! You hit the stake. You now know that your grandma was really good at this sport. You know that it connected her to something she lost.
Your grandma grew up playing it with her dad. It made him proud. She dominated her opponents (only giving them some purposeful misses to not take their entire dignity). However, your grandma lost her dad way too soon and her passion left her. That was until she met your grandpa.
You now know why your grandparents had a court set up at home; your grandpa built it as an act of love and support. You now know that she dragged you and your siblings along to her tournaments because she loved it and wanted to share that love and passion with you.
You now remember the good times: How you got to eat unlimited junk food while there (something your parents would never let you do at home), how your grandma gave you red hot cinnamon gum (which you hated but she loved), how your grandpa's eyes shined as he watched the woman he loved decimate her opponents (it was the only form of healthy love you saw growing up).
You now know all of this because the cancer won and she died so now people talk about her more than she ever talked about herself because your grandma was a selfless woman; she kept things to herself. What you did know about her, you didn't learn from her telling you because she was too busy showing you and what she didn't show you, she wrote.
And in what she wrote, you learned more about her than you ever saw. You learned that she was just like you; you grew up to be a reflection of her. She was compassionate, an artist. She was strong and independent, brave and dedicated.
But most importantly of all: She was your grandma.

Agastya Nanda recounts hilarious anecdote of him being mistaken as a delivery agent at filmmaker’s office; says, “The disadvantages of not having social media”
Agastya Nanda shared an anecdote of him being mistaken as a delivery agent.
Agastya Nanda, the grandson of Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan, made his debut in the Netflix adaptation of the iconic comic series, The Archies. In a recent interview with Film Companion, Agastya shared insights into his journey as an actor, shedding light on the amusing and sometimes awkward experiences he encountered while seeking opportunities in the film industry.
Tumblr media
The young actor shared that he had auditioned for the role in The Archies and has actively visited filmmakers at their offices in pursuit of more work. Being relatively unknown in film circles due to his absence from social media and growing up in Delhi away from the cinematic hubbub, Agastya shared some humorous instances of being mistaken for someone else.
Agastya recalled a moment where he visited a filmmaker's office and was misunderstood by the security guard. He narrated, “I had gone to another office where the security guard was like, ‘Idhar aa, idhar aa (come here).' He said, ‘Naam likh. Package delivery time bata. (Write down your name and the delivery time of the package).' I said I've not come here to deliver the package, I've come here to meet the director. Then he said, ‘Nahi nahi, jhooth mat bol (No, don't lie).' This happens quite a lot. The disadvantages of not having social media.”
The actor also shared another incident where he was made to wait for 45 minutes at a filmmaker's office, only to overhear the staff discussing why he had not arrived yet. Agastya had to clarify his identity and explain that he had been patiently waiting for close to an hour.
Agastya recently joined social media, making his debut on Instagram on January 11. Talking about his previous film, The Archies was also starred Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor, Vedang Raina, Aditi Saigal and Yuvraj Menda. He will be next seen in Ikkis by Sriram Raghavan.
