The Separate RoTS Kon and Comic Kon AU

So this AU is basically part of my own extended DC universe (we all have one and mine is still very much in development), where Connor (Young Justice Superboy), Kon (Comic's Superboy), and Maik (Reign of the Supermen's Superboy) all exist concurrently. Kon is the first clone but it is the one with TTK and Lex as the other father (all three technically are in this scenario), and it pretty much plays out with ignoring him getting erased cause I'm not playing that game with DC. After Clark finally gets used to him being around, they find out about Connor, who, unlike Kon, has more Kryptonian abilities, mainly what he has in the cartoon, but I think he deserves heat vision and ice breath because I like them and he deserves something too. Clark is a lot worse to him than he was to Kon, if only because how does Lex keep getting his DNA and Connor is a tad more standoffish and he didn't feel like he was ever part of Young Justice here because, well Kon was already there and you don't need two Supers (stupid hypothesis I know, but what can you do?). Also unlike Kon, he does age, albeit slower than most people. Young Justice does keep inviting him to join (the team being from their original run plus M'gann and Kaldur, but he thinks it's just pity and ends up on the Outsiders. He still ends up with M'gann though cause it's a cute ship to me. After they get married and Jon is around 10 (no Bendis time skip and the aging is different because otherwise Lois would be having Jon at 75, and a key point of this AU is to fill Ma and Pa Kent's outside table with family), is when Lex displays the newest "invention" of Lexcorp, Superboy. Now, I never watched Reign of the Supermen and have very cursory knowledge about it, so this will deviate a lot more than the rest. Superboy (here-fore referred to as Maik due to later reasons), is made basically act how the music industry used Justin Beiber when he was a child, and he is 12 because he looked like a 12 year old when I saw him. He is literally a marketing ploy for Lex to show off he can mass produce Supermen who are more obedient and humans can trust since they're American Made. Lex uses him literally to show up Superman and even has him fight the other three Superboys to show how much better the man made ones are, always during disasters. One day during a disaster, he fumbles it hard, causing more destruction than should have happened (ignoring that Lex caused the disaster in the first place), Lex takes him to the lab to euthanize him with a kryptonite syringe. Kara was having lunch nearby with some friends and hears Maik screaming and crying and excuses herself and busts into the lab and sees Lex trying to pin Maik down to kill him and she goes feral. She burns Lex's hand so he drops the syringe and then gets up close and personal. The end of the fight being that despite being at least 100' underground, Lex is lands outside the hole Kara made and she keeps going, horrifying the onlookers until Maik finally climbs out (only super jumping, flight comes later) and tells the crowd what Luthor tried to do to him, but obviously, a human being turned into a squeak toy by a Kryptonian isn't good for optics, despite the youth's pleas. Luckily, Lois and Jon heard the commotion and Jon throws a rock at Kara who stops and realizes what she's doing, spits on Lex, grabs Maik by the hand and flies off with him. Clark, Lois and Jon find them at the farm with Ma making them sandwiches to eat. Kara and Maik explain what happened and afterwards, Clark says they need a name for him if he's staying. Given he's 12 physically and less than a year old legally, he has to stay somewhere and since Lex has a boner for both Kal and Clark, they decide he should stay with the Danvers who are okay with the situation but scold Kara for almost killing a person even if he deserves it cause she was raised better than that. They say they need to name him something and Kara has been teaching Jon, Kon and Connor some Kryptonian and Jon suggests Maik El, which I don't know if there is a Krypotonian language that's actually made-

Ganondorf = Warlock-Sorcerer. A Hyrulean transliteration of Gánōendōrfè; from Gánōen meaning "black magics" & Dōrfè meaning "sorcerer." - Both Gánōen & Gánōn are technically correct, however Gánōen is considered proper grammar & is thus more formal when it's used as a word rather than a name.

- Dragmire = Noble dragon general. A Hyrulean transliteration of Drāgamīr; from the words Drāga being an old Gerudan word meaning "dragon lord" or "noble dragon" & Mīr meaning "general." When put together, it translates to "draconian leader."

Jawàrik = The name of the Gerudo god of war, conquest, & strife. Ex-husband to the Goddess of the Sand. A name meaning "a strong, powerful warrior."

Gàlondo = Gerudo god of war, power, conquest, fire, lightning, pride, destruction, bloodlust, & the burning desert sun. The only begotten son of Geladïna & Jawàrik. Means "one prepared to battle in the sands."

Amïn = Safe. Translates to reliable, secure, faithful, loyal, straightforward, & honest.

Asïm = Protector; also an old name from before the all-female curse.

Jubàr = One who mends.

Ïdanek = Father of many.

Ïmanek = Despite being a masculine name, it translates to “mother of multitudes.”

Hànrysé = Clever or proficient. The name of a prominent figure in the Gerudo myth called "King Hànrysé's Folly." In which, he was a Gerudo king from before the Division War that ended in the female-only curse. Due to his portrayal in the story, the name has now become associated with foolishness or arrogance.

Bàssōl = A merging of the old Gerudàn boy name Bàssel meaning "man who is lion-hearted" or “brave & noble lion” & the Gerudàn word Sōl, meaning "sun."

Hàrrīun = Warrior lion.

2. Where do you get your fic ideas?

It usually starts with an episode itself and a question or a „what if“-situation it sparks: Why is Julia brusque to Tine after they most probably spent the night together? What do Falke and Julia do after they leave together at the end of „Schattenleben“? What if Julia and Maike meet again by accident?

And sometimes I like to write about something I experienced/witnessed/thought about in real life and it fits or can be made fittable for the characters, as well. In the Hamburger Dom story I wanted first and foremost to write about the Dom itself and how one often reconnects with one’s own youth at places like this. And all of a sudden I had a background story for Julia and a kiss in the ferris wheel. And before the story where I let Olaf (and Julia) reminisce about their shared past I saw sth. with the same mood (but in a totally different context) play out between two of my friends.

And then there are the silly one shots where I just want to have some fun and use the dynamic between Falke and Julia. I actually don’t know where those ideas come from. They just happen somehow.

10. Do you work on multiple wips or stick to one fic at a time?

Usually one at the time. Exception: When I was stuck with „All the small things“ I wrote a bunch of other stuff before finishing it. But by the time I started posting it I knew where it should land.

18. Do you enjoy research? Which fic of yours required the most research?

I answered that already here but to expand a little: I do not always enjoy it but care about the details when I think they matter. There is a line in the Coffee Shop AU about Tine‘s father and Adriano Celentano and I spent an annoying amount of time looking movies up to see if there really is one where Celentano drives with a Vespa through some Italian region. (There is and it is Kampanien.) I think it says sth. about Tine’s dad and I wanted it to be „right“. But I didn’t care too much about the details of real police academy life for young!Julia’s time there. I checked if they exist and a bit about the lessons so that it‘s believable but not much else. Because it’s not that important for the story, I think.

19. Do you enjoy creating OCs or do you prefer to stick solely to canon characters?

I answered that here but to expand a little: I immensely enjoy putting secondary characters like Hellinger, Reetz, Okonjo, Olaf Spieß, Maike Nauener in stories and give them more room, because they are established characters but one can form them with the material given. And if I create (mostly minor) canon characters I like to stay consistent with them throughout my stories. So for me Tine has this colleague named Robert (who likes football and changes girlfriends by month) and Julia has a background with a single father (who’s a taciturn doctor), a nosy aunt and cousin and a former boyfriend (that was a childhood friend).

Gräfin Eszterházy (Elisabeth)

As you can have guessed by my username, Gräfin Eszterházy is one my favourite musical characters. The character isn't historically accurate, because she is Elisabeth's main lady in waiting almost the whole musical, but real Sisi had more of them during her life.

Sophie Eszterházy-Liechtenstein was Sisi's lady in waiting in 1854-1862. She was Sisi's first lady in waiting and the Empress didn't choose her herself. It is said that they didn't have a good relationship, because Gräfin Sophie was much older than Empress Sisi.

In the musical Sophie Eszterházy agrees with Archduchess Sophie, but also helps young Elisabeth. Her character is very interesting, but so underrated.

I tried to find all the actresses that played Gräfin Eszterházy, but since she isn't always considered as main character (which she should), there aren't records about all the actresses. I didn't find all the alternates and swings yet, so here you have only the Erstbesetzung for most of the productions.

You bet they were. And yeah the Hibino family would defently be put in that category upon finding out the truth of what happened that night.

Now another thing that is that whatever state his kaiju side is, it those not stop Akari to know wether or not her son is in danger. As long as the emotion is strong enough, she will feel it through the kaiju bond even when Kafka's kaiju side is dormant.

It was how she knew that something terrible was up. Proto can feel it too but it is much more muted due various reason and Kafka once again only a quarter kaiju.

In the awaked stat, both can feel it very strongly. Enough so that both mad quick work of the hord to quickly get to were Kafka is to deal with the treath.

Speaking of which, in the early awaking path Kafka's kaiju side changes thing quite a bit.

First of is that the pheromone is much stronger, maiking it easier for the other kaiju to find Kafka. That however don't stops Kafka's own ability to sense kaijus to warn him of danger. It is much stronger in this awaked form too.

He also instantly transforms and immediately takes Mina and try to wake up his dad or grandma instead of hidding. As he has much more time to actually do that. And much to his utter fear and confusion, they don't wake up no matter what he does.

Then he spots the kaiju outside thanks to a window. Said kaiju is carfully looking around trying to find Kafka and the boy makes a decision there and then. As well as being the brave fool we know he is.

He carfully puts Mina with his dad, before he jumps out the window, race right under the kaijus feet, giving it a taget and a good smell of the pheromone as well.

After that it is a full on chase game between Kafka and the kaiju. Now a very good thing for Kafka is that his kaiju form is more speed based then strenght based when he is this young. Better survival rates and all that. Which gives him an edge as he manage to keep just enough distant between himself and the other kaiju.

His small size also helps making it difficult for the kaiju to actually pick Kafka up. And Kafka is also able to run under large cars and trucks were as the other has to either jump or run around.

And like how his mom and grandpa can feel Kafka, so can he too. And he uses that to lead the kaiju outside of town and right into said very pissed off kaijus.

Proto was the first one to save Kafka, as he is still much faster than his daughter despite his age and weak state. He takes his grandson quickly away, giving Akari a straight path to destroy the kaiju.

The DF are still called in the morning. Though this time because some poor farmer finds the mass killing of kaijus instead. And Akari did not leave a trace behind of the kaiju that hunted her son.

Tabiki feels very guilty when he is told the what happened that night.

Kafka honestly would do that if he had his powers early. Proto most likely made sure his grandson didn't see the carnage his mother unleashed. The sight definitely wasn't for the child's eyes.

Someone please reassure Tabiki cause none of that been his fault.

Maik-Mespir Gaster: A Summary

Gastera Maik-Mespir ("Gaster", W.D.Gaster) was a member of the Gaster family, and lead royal scientist from 201X to 227X, when the Royal Science Division was separated into its own organization and Gaster became the sole bearer of the title "Royal Scientist". In 226X, Gaster proposed the construction of the CORE, and over the following year oversaw its early construction. He left the project in 227X, thus separating the RSD from the actual royalty, due to wanting to focus more on Arfia, who had appeared in his lab earlier that year. In 234X, Gaster died due to an accident with his post-CORE project involving research into alternate timelines and alternate universes. Due to the unusual nature of this death, parts of Gaster's memory and consciousness were scattered across time and space, as well as seemingly arbitrary people in the Underground becoming "goners", existing partially between timelines.

Early life

Gastera Maik-Mespir was born in 174X, to Gastera Albardo and the Kagraba. Maik-Mespir belongs to a rare subtype of monster whose speech is seen visually, in a distinct "font". According to Yarzona tradition, this font was identified as "Maik-Mespir" and this became the name used. It was quickly noted Gaster was highly intelligent and skilled, having graduated Education High 5 years ahead of schedule, finished college 3 years later, and worked his way up the Royal Science Division. In 201X, when the Omeriters, the royal family, moved to Audagor (New Home), Gaster was appointed Lead Royal Scientist.

Early time as Royal Scientist: The Royal Science Division

As lead Royal Scientist, Gaster directed the construction of various projects to improve the lives of monsters underground, as well as building on human technology discovered via the Garbage Dump. The Royal Science division also included the Steamworks Division, which worked largely independently of Gaster on providing power for the Underground and bringing the Underground into the electronic era.

The CORE

It was around this time that Gaster proposed a new, more efficient solution than the Steamworks for generating power: the CORE. The CORE was a geothermal plant proposed to be built in Hotland, directly under New Home. The design was based on an expanded version of the True Lab power generator, and due to the waning but still then highly present tradition of puzzles, and for ease of maintenance, the segments could be shuffled around.

Arfia

While Gaster planned to lead the CORE's entire construction process, he had to leave the project after just a year. This was because a young skeleton monster had appeared in his lab in 227X and asserted himself. Gaster, for a time, devoted his full attention to Arfia Ratokno (Sans Undertale). And it was Arfia that gave Gaster the idea for his next project: investigating alternate timelines and parallel universes. From 228X onwards, he focused on this investigation, building a device that would eventually allow him to travel to other universes.

Abigail and the Accident

In 233X, after Arfia had brought with him another younger skeleton, Kobzo (Papyrus), who took the Gaster family name while Arfia refused to, a human named Okhelai (Abigail) came knocking at Gaster's door. Gaster, opposing the present policy of killing all the humans to fall underground, allowed Abigail to live with him until a better solution could be figured out. Abigail, a nerdy high schooler, helped Gaster further his research, until one fateful day, when an accident happened that resulted in Gaster's death. Abigail was later tracked down and killed by Gerson, still the Royal Guard captain at that point. Arfia continued to take care of Kobzo, and became the de facto Royal Scientist until a new one was chosen, which wouldn't happen until Alfizo (Alphys) was chosen to be Royal Scientist several years later. At this point, Arfia and Kobzo moved to Snowdin and asserted themselves.

Legacy

Several of the "goners" have formed an organization called the Gaster Followers, dedicated to Gaster himself and information regarding him and his achievements. Additionally, Gaster's late timeline research formed the foundation for Alphys' later studies into SOULs and discovery of determination, and for Sans' own studies into timelines, and ultimately both of their conclusions regarding the "anomaly". Additionally, several Gaster fragments gained their own person-like behavior, and three of these ended up in an alternate universe, where they ended up becoming some of the most influential figures in that universe. 'Tschick' by Wolfgang Herrndorf

(This is a mini-review for all you social media enthusiasts with tiny attention spans who don't love me enough to have read my full Stephen King review (smh))

Tschick was pretty crazy, I liked it:

1) There was a queer character that isn't a stereotype? Man, I had no idea those existed in media! I want to get it out of the way right off the bat, ‘cause I think Tschick’s homosexuality is really well-written (he’s one of the two main characters). There was a bit of what I can best describe as “performative homophobia” at the beginning of the story and from the way he acts and talks it slowly sinks in. He’s not some hypereffeminate guy, or a bear or a twink of some sort; he’s just some new kid who likes stealing cars and isn’t really interested in girls which? I find pretty cool. I liked that aspect. Also, the story didn’t force any sort of queer plot-action between him and his clearly-heterosexual best friend, and it didn’t make a big deal out of it either, it was more of a little sidenote, and it was really well-done. Wanted to get that out of the way right off the bat so I don’t have to focus on it too much later.

2) I like a male character extensively thinking about his feelings, it’s pretty unheard of unless it’s sex drive or pure, unfiltered anger. Maybe anger with an undertone of grief; but aside from that you don’t tend to get much out of male leads. Which I think sucks. Or it’s not documented or mentioned, and only implied. Which I also think sucks. I feel like the fake that Maik (did I spell that right) opened up more, commented on he feels about his feelings, and commented on the fact that he comments about how he feels on his feelings was pretty interesting. Also, I feel like it added more dimension to him as a character, his general cynical nature and pessimistic attitude despite being in a relatively-well-off place (in comparison to Tschick, the other male lead), it all just gave me the “he’s just like me fr” feel. Also, I generally just like seeing the lives of other teenage guys, seeing their lives come together, learning about the girl they’re seeing and their relationship with their dad, etc. 

c) It gives me a chance to live vicariously through a guy with anger issues who decides to steal a car and drive off spontaneously, which happens to be one of my wettest dreams of all time. (You would be alarmed at how much I fantasize about running away and off-roading across the country in a stolen car with a friend or two.)

d) Also the book filled the void in my heart, the one that craves a decent young adult book, set and written in the good part of Germany with an accurate representation of what being a male teenager in Germany is like. Can vouch, since I used to be a male teenager in Germany. Also, it’s written in German (read it, if you can speak German) and it’s extremely well-written and clean, and handles some topics like substance abuse, poverty, and adultery pretty well, without glorifying or dramatizing anything in an over-the-top manner.

PSA: Do NOT read the English translation. It’s botched, and gross, and doesn’t do the story justice. If you’re not a German-speaker, sure, you might check it out due to interest but if you don’t like it as much as I do, it’s likely because you didn’t read the original.

Also, if I get positive feedback I’ll re-read the book and publish an EXTENSIVE review.
