A older young woman was looking ahead while holding a bag with some food and fresh veggies inside. She was walking down the street looking ahead but she hasn't seen many out after the small mini wars going on all through NYC. Even having a more older spiritual like jackal walking by her side now. Seems the puppy jackal grew up and is now a big boy wagging his tail happily.

Ever since that upsetting day, all the fractions have been unsure on how to feel but they keep living their lives. Even when trying to take on the new threat that seems to be hitting all the areas here. Even now, it's a quiet stand still right now. After walking, the young woman stops only to look up feeling a light breeze blowing against her.

'No one knows what caused it or who did it but after seeing the news that day and seeing the fire. We didn't know if the DBT was..killed. Even from the horrible attack on the island of Wyckoff, no one knows what could have happened. So..everyone either tried to move on but still couldn't accept their faith. But....even so I get the feeling they are not dead......he's not dead..' she thought only to slowly look ahead showing silver eyes.

'I miss you guys. We all miss you..I deeply miss you my jackal. I don't know why but even with you not being here..it still hurts. I always love you with all my heart but the others were so upset that day......even with the enemy still terrorizing the areas of NYC..'

Melinda Brooks was gripping the bag but she has indeed gotten a lot older. Her demonic power has gotten a lot more stronger now and she's already shown progress. Just like her fraction, the Cursed vixens and her demon sisters. Even the other fractions have gotten older as well but they still get stronger by the passing day. However, Melinda only knew everyone was on guard after the sudden attacks and hearing about Bradley joining on the evil side but no one knows if it's true due to not seeing him.

'Even now, I just hope everyone is staying safe or maybe Jinx has gotten word from the other demons and followers in the other areas in Central Park. Oh well...I hope we can get through this without another attack..but I highly don't see that happening. But I'm getting distracted. I better head on back before Jinx gets worried..' she thought turning to head back while passing a few people or some speaking to themselves. As for the enemy, some was in hiding and yet, none showed their position off. It was a matter of time before another strike would happen.

Void is a unicorn with an almost entirely black mane and pelt, (minus a few gray and white flecks here and there) and astonishingly pale blue eyes. The colour of his magic is a yellowish orange, which is a stark and jarring contrast to his depressing gothic colour scheme. He is silent and stoic, frankly quite intimidating, and seemingly judgemental. His cutie mark is a clock with a smiley face on it, which feels incredibly ominous and threatening. While unicorns are by nature somewhat tall, at least in comparison to their winged counterparts, Void towers over most ponies, being the size of a larger earth pony (earth ponies are typically the size of draft horses). He rarely speaks apart from the odd snarky or sarcastic comment.

Special talent

Of course after reading this description you probably have many questions, but one big one. Why the hell is this guy the element of laughter??? Well, first of all, with him being so stoic and serious, anything he does that isn’t serious is inherently funny because it’s unexpected. But that alone shouldn’t be enough to qualify him, right? You’re correct. You see, like every other pony, he has a special talent. And his special talent happens to be comedic timing. He has a magical sense that allows him to sense when there’s an opportunity for something funny or ironic to happen, and through magic and fate he makes it happen. He doesn’t even have to intentionally try, any time there is an opportunity for something funny around him he somehow inadvertently causes a butterfly effect that makes it happen.

Namesake

The word Persiflage can refer to a type of tongue in cheek humour that is easily misinterpreted as mean spirited when it is only meant to be humorous- similar to how Void himself is misinterpreted as mean and intimidating, when in reality his sole purpose is comedy. This poor man is just a misunderstood comedic chaos magnet.

Tragic backstory

Of course our man’s gotta have a backstory!!

Persiflage (nicknamed Percy) grew up in a very small community, a rowdy and excitable young colt. Despite his affinity for attracting chaos, He had a loving family, friends, and a comfortable life. He wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. One day, a travelling comedy act came to town- featuring famous comedian John Mullmaney! Percy became obsessed with comedy, wanting nothing more than to make others laugh. Unfortunately, he bombed over and over. Every one of his jokes fell flat. Until one day, after telling a horrendous joke… “why did the banana call in sick? Because he wasn’t PEELING well!!!” To which nobody laughed, he began to sadly walk away when he slipped on a discarded banana peel, flying into the air. Everyone laughed at the irony and comedic timing of this situation, and in that moment Percy discovered his special talent- comedic timing! Maybe he wasn’t bringing disaster everywhere he went, but comedy! For a while he delighted in making ponies laugh, but like most comedians, he took a joke too far. Only in the MLP universe you don’t get cancelled, you get exiled and/or ostracized. A small filly ended up losing a leg in an incredibly comedic incident. The thing is, Percy can’t control his own power and inclination towards comedy. He just inadvertently makes it happen. Even if it means catching a young pony in a rockslide by accident. He became synonymous with disaster, a jinx, and ostracized. He decided it would be best if he moved away from home, to where he couldn’t hurt the people he cared about. He knew the only way he could exist on peace was to live near ponies that had the legendary plot armour, and couldn’t be harmed by flawless comedic timing. Luckily protagonists aren’t difficult to find, especially when princess celestia and the elements of harmony spend a suspicious and unnecessary amount of time in one place, and so he moved to ponyville.

early life

Gert’s life began with tragedy when her mother died from complications shortly after giving birth to her. Raised by her father, Gert was taught self-reliance and survival from an early age. Her father, knowing he was terminally ill, used the drug shimmer to prolong his life just long enough to teach her how to fend for herself in the harsh undercity of Zaun. His last gift to her before passing away when she was nine years old was the deed to their crumbling shack, a small piece of stability in a chaotic world.

Left alone at such a young age, Gert banded together with other orphans in Zaun. Together, they scraped by on stolen food, coin, and goods, forming a surrogate family. Over time, their small heists grew more daring, targeting Piltover’s elite, who lived in comfort and luxury while the people of Zaun suffered. Among this group of misfit children, Gert forged deep bonds. Zed, her first crush, was a fierce and clever girl her own age. Nyles and Ruckus, two scrappy and loyal boys, became like brothers to her. And then there was Lucy, an eight-year-old firecracker with boundless energy and a fearlessness that mirrored the innocence of her age.

Everything fell apart during a heist gone wrong when Gert was fourteen. A fatal accident involving an enforcer snowballed into chaos, leading to Lucy’s death by an enforcer’s stray bullet. That moment shattered the fragile family Gert had built. She carried Lucy’s body back to their shack, cradling the blame and grief in her chest. Her rage toward Piltover and its enforcers began to solidify, fueled by the knowledge that Lucy died because the world saw them as disposable.

At 16, Gert joined Zed, Nyles, and Ruckus in staying to watch as the first battle between Zaun and Piltover erupted near their home. Overcome by youthful arrogance and righteous anger, they believed they could make a difference in the chaos. But the chaos claimed the lives of everyone Gert cared about, one by one. She ran. She buried her pain in years of self-destructive habits, drifting through life as a petty thief, bartender, gambler, and occasional DJ. The fighting spirit she once had seemed gone, smothered under layers of grief and survivor’s guilt.

12 years later, at 28, Gert’s fire was reignited when Jinx launched a rocket into the Piltover council building, a deafening cry of rebellion for all of Zaun to hear. Inspired by Jinx’s brazen defiance, Gert dyed her hair blue in tribute and joined a growing movement of anarchists, known as Jinxers, determined to dismantle the oppressive system that kept Zaun in chains.

Gert’s belief in the movement was solidified when Jinx and Sevika broke into Stillwater Hold to free the imprisoned Jinxers, including Gert herself. When Gert placed a hand on Jinx’s shoulder in gratitude, she unknowingly left a mark on the young hero. The moment was a turning point for Gert as well, reaffirming her faith that rebellion wasn’t futile.

However, her convictions were tested when Zaunites and Pilties were forced to unite against the greater threat of Noxus. Every instinct told Gert to run. Fighting alongside the people who had stolen everything from her and oppressed her and imprisoned her felt like betrayal. But for once, she didn’t run. She almost did. But she stood her ground, realizing that justice wasn’t just black and white. [ au for rp purposes, Gert is severely injured in the battle but she doesn’t die. She wakes up in a hospital bed in Piltover after the battle is over. Her spine was injured by a bullet, and she has to use a wheelchair for a few months, but she does eventually walk again with some rigorous physical therapy, provided by Piltover. ]

On the surface, Gert is rough around the edges—sarcastic, bold, and unafraid to challenge authority. She has a wicked sense of humor and a tendency to mask her vulnerability with sharp wit or a casual shrug. She’s a scrapper by nature, someone who will throw a punch first and ask questions later. But when it comes to those she cares about, Gert reveals her softer side. She’s fiercely protective, even motherly, toward people she views as part of her found family. Despite her gruff demeanor, she deeply values community and connection, having spent so much of her life yearning for stability.

Born in Zaun, previously known as "The Underground" for the city of Piltover, Powder was born five years after her sister, Violet or "Vi" for short. Vi and Powder lived a rather loving home, albeit impoverished as their parents were miners who didn't make much, with Vander looking after them when their parents were working.

As a small child, it was noted by her parents that Powder always had signs of something going on with her mind but both of them chose to wait until Powder was older before taking her to a doctor to see exactly what her issue was specifically.

Their sigh of relief would also be that Powder was very gifted at tinkering and machinery, albeit she wasn't old enough to craft anything yet but they were amazed to see she could fix things like watches and wind-up toys at such a young age.

However, these happy days with her parents came in the form of blood and smoke when a rebellion took place on the bridge connecting Zaun and Piltover. The parents of all the Zaun citizens tried to rise up and rebel for independence so they could get better assistance from Piltover instead of being treated like it's garbage can, but Enforcers came and silenced everyone violently. This included Powder and Vi's parents, who the two sisters found dead after hearing of a disaster on the bridge. As the two girls sobbed in each other's arms, Vander took them in as his own and the two would then be raised by him.

Due to witnessing such brutality at such a young age, Powder's issues with her mind began to worsen. She had severe tantrums and reactions over people leaving her, hitting herself, zoning out and extremely heightened emotions. This was taken notice by Vi but simply viewed it as a reaction to their parents' death rather than an actual issue.

Both sisters would grow older and help Vander on gigs stealing things in Piltover, albeit Powder always struggled when she wasn't physically strong like Vi. Instead, Powder was always quick on her mind with some agility while Vi was much stronger.

To try and keep up with everyone around her, Powder would learn how to make gadgets and bombs as a means to have something to defend herself, except none of these gadgets worked as they all failed or broke before working.

This made everyone around the sisters, except Vander and Vi, label Powder as a "jinx" who ruins every theft mission because of her physical weakness and lack of working machinery.

During a particular gig, Vi and the gang had stolen from a Piltover Academy student, who had strange blue crystals that blew up upon impact as Powder accidentally dropped one which caused it to blow up. Enforcers were after the kids, and this left an opportunity for a man named Silco to slither in and take revenge on Vander. Unbeknownst to Vi and Powder, Silco was close friends with their mother and Vander years ago, but a falling out left Powder never meeting him before.

Silco had kidnapped Vander at some point, where Vi and their friends work together to try and free him. Except, Powder couldn't handle being left behind due to her trigger of abandonment, and used one of the blue crystals in a device that finally worked and blew up the place. This killed their friends and technically Vander, which left Vi devastated.

When Powder happily told her sister that a machine worked, Vi punched her and told her she was a jinx, walking away to abandon her sister.

Silco saw the vulnerable Powder, sobbing as her sister solidified her insecurities, as she clung to Silco for the comfort of anyone. This melted Silco's cold heart and became the one thing he took care of with adoration, adopting Powder as his own and giving her a new identity as "Jinx" to take back the insult others threw at her.

Now as Jinx, she was encouraged by Silco to embrace chaos and continue tinkering with her bombs and gadgets. Except, everyone in Silco's group noticed that Jinx' mental health grew worse as the years went on.

Jinx suffers from hallucinations, disassociation, tantrums, talking to herself, mood swings, impulsive behavior and all the other previous problems she had as a child. This made everyone call her a 'loose canon', but the reality is that Jinx is a deeply troubled young woman who desperately needed help and better support.

All these years later, Jinx has a bad relationship with her sister and especially hates Enforcers and those from Piltover. This includes Caitlyn Kiramman and Mel as an example. Though she does struggle with her mental health and trauma, she can get along well with people at times. She particularly gets along with kids and those who like to indulge in machinery.

Jinx is funny, bubbly and even nerdy but she's mainly erratic, impulsive, immature and even manipulative. She's also a genius with mechanics and managed to figure out how to use Hextec energy in a single day compared to the years it took the founders of Jayce and Victor.

[ The shallow breaths of a boy in distress were the only sound in the abandoned hallway, his footsteps dragging against the worn metal floors with the pace of a body bogged down.

Slung over one shoulder was the form of another boy, smaller, limper, clearly unconscious. Ekko had his arms hugged tightly around the body of his friend, and his heart beat harshly against his ribs, exhaustion threatening to make his legs collapse into jelly.

But he kept going, he knew that he had to. It was only fair. He couldn't save the other boy, the least he could do was bring him home.

Stumbling into the entrance of the dusty building, Ekko shouldered the door open and let out a held breath, the noise coming out in a harsh wheeze, chemicals of Zaun escaping his lungs as fire in his throat.

It took him a while to settle the corpse on the crumbling countertop, peeling off his jacket and carefully resting it beneath the child's head as if he could still feel it, as if he could still thank Ekko for what he'd done. He couldn't.

Turning his head sharply at a shuffling noise behind him, the child's shoulders sunk as he saw Jinx, not having expected anyone else to be here, so late. ]

"Oh.. hi, uh... hi, Blue."

[ His eyes were blank, the tiredness plain on his face, and he carelessly pushed a hand back through his hair, shoving it out of the way amongst sweat and grime. His night had been much longer than anyone else would have seen. Over ninety times he'd tried to save Ajuani, all to no avail. The physical strain meant nothing to him when his chest felt heavy enough to explode.

His lip trembled and he swallowed harshly, swiping his fist against his eyes īroughly as he struggled not to cry, not in front of Jinx, at least; she'd always been his role model, and he wasn't about to look weak, not now. ]

"I... Ajuani's..."

[ Ekko's eyes can't stay on Jinx, and he instead looks at the floor, breaths threatening to shake his chest. Guilt eats at his gut from the inside out, and suddenly, he wants nothing more than an infinite nap. He leaned back against the counter, fingertips resting gently against the shoe of his best friend, and his exhaustion set in. He covered his eyes with one hand, hitting himself on the forehead a little too hard, and he started to cry. ]
