So I just finished reading the newest Witcher book ("The Crossroad Of Ravens"/ "Rozdroże Kruków")... and while it's not as fascinating as the other books so many of us know and love... I still must admit I LOVE the young (18-ish) Geralt 😂 He's just such a lovely, inexperienced greenhorn!

So here's a quick fanart heavily based (identical, actually, minus the wound, I just HAD to draw some red life juice) on one of his first fights with monsters. Cute as heck witchy-witchy.

Due to jurisdictional reasons, the Pankratz family owned part of Blue Mountain, which included Kear Morhen. Although the family allowed the witchers to use the area, they charged a small annual fee.

When Julian Alfred Pankratz, the young Viscount who had just begun to go by Jaskier, was twelve, his father took him along to Kear Morhen on one of his trips.

There, Jaskier met a young witcher trainee named Geralt. It was evident to anyone who observed them that Jaskier and Geralt were fond of each other. As one of the other witcher trainees put it, "Geralt is trying to impress the little lordling."

As a result, Geralt’s fellow trainees made it their mission to try and embarrass him in front of Jaskier as much as possible.

the training montage in crossroads re-ignited a headcanon i had of geralt waking up and doing gymnastics, performing kickflips and mid-air spins around on a fencepost outside an hour before sunrise to ‘limber up,’ and bleary-eyed dandelion wrapping himself up in a blanket to be like "heyyy... what the hell are you doing 💖"

Looking through the concept art on the SR1/2 Remaster and being dazzled by how pretty they tried to make young Kain. I don't know what's funnier: historical revisionism to make him hot, or the idea that some elfishly pretty boy grew up to be a bug with hooves.
