Let's go a bit old school and have a youkai au! This one has SatoSugu in the beginning before ending in Sukugo. This also seems to be a long one, hmm. Well, enjoy!

Satoru is a Yaobikuni- not that he, nor Suguru, meant for him to become one. Satoru had been at death's door, ill health gone poorer thanks to a late autumn sickness and Suguru had only been told by the wandering medicine seller that the 'medicine' would either cure him or kill him. It ended up curing him- it did that, and more. How were they to know that they'd been given a powder of mermaid flesh?

Not that they knew until the years showed on only Suguru's face and not Satoru's, devastating them both since it meant that Satoru could not follow Suguru and Suguru would be leaving Satoru behind. It only made the time they had together more precious and they stayed together until Suguru died of old age, his last words to Satoru were for him to 'find happiness again one day'.

Satoru ends up travelling around Japan as a medicine seller himself, occasionally dabbling as a merchant, and studying youkai since he could be considered one now. He even gains a few skills of his own over the next few centuries. Eventually he makes his way into youkai circles and settles in an apothecary and curio merchant for both worlds- much like a certain Time-Space Witch and her eventual heir.

He even heals enough to take in some children every now and then, especially this one abandoned bastard child with a scar on his face. Satoru honestly thinks that some noble ranks just reproduce to increase stupidity instead of intelligence. Toji was a perfectly fine and healthy child! It's not his fault his father couldn't keep his dick in his pants or was trying to 'prove' his virility. He was also a great help at the store and his crush on that little bird youkai was so cute!

Sukuna, on the other hand, is an oni of the same notoriety as Shuten Douji himself. He took care of his territory of course, but centuries of destruction and revelry made him crave new and interesting things- as it was with most powerful youkai. Their long lives made entertainment and drama more important to them lest they languish away in stagnation.

So when, on a impromptu trip around the neutral lands, Sukuna discovers an albino yaobikuni and their ward beating off some middling (to him) youkai with unexpected strength for a pair of humans, he finds himself interested enough to bother them for a while. A few decades, thought Sukuna, would pass easily with this.

Jokes on Sukuna, he ends up marrying Satoru within the century and intends to stay married as well! And since Satoru was already taking care of one child while he was single, then surely more children would mean that Satoru would stay with him for the rest of their long lives.

Satoru, fondly exasperated, only says that he's in love with a fool.

Natsume Yuujinchou AU where Natsume was so mistreated and neglected as a child he became a youkai at some point, but nobody noticed because his spiritual power was strong enough to manifest human form, and he never had much presence anyway, and nobody really knew him in the first place. But he's just a little bit weird. Even moreso than in canon. Sometimes he seems to just disappear into thin air. Sometimes his eyes seem to gleam or his expression darkens in a way that's just a little too inhuman.

The Fujiwaras take him in and love him anyway. His friends love him anyway. Maybe Natsume isn't fully aware of it himself, so used to being what he is. Maybe Madara tells him he smells like ayakashi and humans, so much so that even he struggles to figure out what he is.

Maybe he even fools the exorcists for a while, until somebody gets suspicious and tries to seal him, to make him their shiki...

In my universe, almost every mythical creature is called a youkai. (There will be some characters with the kind of youkai that I invented myself because I couldn't find a suitable youkai for him or because I wanted to)

There are not so many Youkai in the whole world compared to humans.

Every youkai has his own master, but not every person has his own youkai. Unfortunately, not every supernatural being manages to find his master.

Youkai can live both among people and without intersecting with them. People are aware of the existence of these creatures, but do not often meet them in everyday life. Youkai often hide behind the appearance of a person, hiding their outstanding features, but some can freely walk in their usual appearance without fear, it depends on the character of the youkai himself.

Let's go back to the definition of "master", who is it?

This is the person youkai is attached to. But there are two kinds of masters. One of them is a master who made a deal with youkai and they are bound for a certain period, which ends when the deal is considered completed. In this case, youkai does not feel anything special about the person, treat him as an ordinary person with whom he has some business. There are few such masters, since it is very difficult to get a youkai to make a deal.

Another concept of a master is the one who is tied to a youkai as soon as he was born, connected with him once and for all. The person himself does not know with which youkai he is tied and whether he is tied at all. It will be possible to find out about this if only the youkai with whom he is tied will meet with his master, and this meeting is most often accidental.

Youkai next to his master feels a surge of positive emotions and love for his master (what kind of love they do not know, they listen to their master, so the definition of this attachment will be at the master's request). After meeting with their master and after tying the ribbon, the youkai do not need to replenish their energy (they replenish it with the help of the master. The master will not receive any harm). Before the master, they have to restore energy to survive, the method of replenishing energy is chosen by the youkai himself. It can be both sleep and eating simple food or other youkai, they also do not disdain to eat people, there are other ways.

How do you understand that youkai has found his master? As soon as they intersect, a ribbon will appear in the hand of the youkai, which he must (if he wants the master to know about his existence) offer the master to tie on himself, after that it is impossible to remove the ribbon and any decoration will appear on the ribbon. The ribbon may not be worn, but in this case, the youkai will have to replenish energy in the old way, and not from the master.

Hi there! I recently got back into haikyuu and had to come back and reread the whole yokai au you made. Absolutely gorgeous story and artwork! I don’t know if you still draw for it or if you’ve moved on but I just wanted to tell you how amazing it is. If you could Is there anything you’d change about it? Would you use any of the characters like the Miya twins or the training camp arc?

I guess I would love to add all of the character who were introduced later on. I remember sketching something for wizard tooru to try and scratch that itch a couple years ago. I'd love for them to be foxes (maybe part of the council)

🌝NESTING🪹🎑

This is a little drabble I did today. It's about that one youkai story I want to make, so...

To summarize:

Hanzō is a half(wolf) youkai. He was kept as a prisoner by humans who used his blood in rituals.

The 'misterious youkai' is this character, but I'm not really sure of his name yet (actually, Hanzo isn't doing for me either but oh well) he saved Hanzō (accidentally) when attacked the village Hanzō was in.

Oh and also it was inspired by this post.

Although there's no real omegaverse dinamics, I do intend to use some aspects and headcanons since some youkai are animal based.

Hanzō sees no point in nesting, he never did. His mother had a pretty great nest when he was young, he remembers, but since then he never had the chance to rest in one. surviving alone in the woods for most of his childhood, he barely managed to fetch for himself, let alone have enough materials to properly make a nest and whenever he did manage to steal cloth or a cushion from humans, it would be quickly torn to shreds by other animals or even himself in his meltdowns. By his teenage years he had given up on building a nest, usually just sleeping wherever he saw fit for the night.

After that, he was held captive by humans, those don't nest, he learned. They simply sleep in a futon with a single hard pillow, which was also not given to him, since they saw him as a mindless beast.

Now, all of a sudden he was being told to sleep in a nest, someone elses nest. The misterious youkai who rescued him had made him a nest, it was simple yet very enticing, a few pillows on a fluffy blanket. It looked so conformable Hanzō almost puked at the thought of laying on it, clearly he didn't deserve something like this... So he avoided it. He looked away, crawled farther from it, wven though he feels a whine stuck in his throat.

Initially the misterious youkai thinks it must be because Hanzō didn't make the nest, therefore he doesn't want to enter a nest that isn't his, so they attempt to teach him how to make one.

The youkai keep trying to hand him the pillows, show him the blanket, put his hand on it, even shows him how to nest (a lesson he never really had). Yet still Hanzō shows disinterest in laying on it or even making one of his own, even getting agitated in the process. They are about to give up, it doesn't make sense to force Hanzō to do it, it's the same story with food, water, toys, tasks... He just doesn't seem to be a fan of doing anything other then sitting on the corner and occasionally napping.
