Okay so this is extremely irrelevant, like you don’t even have to respond. But I got my bf completely hooked on this fic and he loves it so much. We literally have a sleepover every Sunday, stay up for the update and take turns reading the latest chapter aloud like a bedtime story.
His friend called me the other day, full on geeking out over the sick as fuck upgrades on Ed’s guns. Turns out my bf talked about it so much his mates decided to read it. I used to be terrified of them (they’re all around 6 foot, muscley ash, footy players) until they invited me to a hangout to chill and talk about SSSBMTY, they even had a wall of theories, busted out some red string and everything.
I didn’t even know they watched one piece, I’m pretty sure some of them had never even heard of it before this.
So congratulations, you have successfully infiltrated a group of popular college boys from Australia.
Genuinely I’m so thankful for you and your writing. Idgaf how stupid it sounds but I’ve made friends and my relationship is genuinely better off because of it.
Bae idk how you do this but if you ever get sad just remember there’s a bunch of big ass NRL players on the other side of the world who idolise you.
Srsly you’ve converted them all, one dude just emailed me his fucking ZOSAN COFFEE SHOP AU to proofread. Keep in mind this is an extremely straight, one piece dude bro. I have to teach him about paragraph breaks but it’s very sweet.
Sorry this is so long lmao.
Ok first that's fucking adorable couple activities and I am jealous beyond belief. More than that I'm fucking ELATED you have people to bond with over this fic, words fail to describe how damn happy it makes me to hear about the people who read my work connecting with each other irl. Whether it's you chucklefucks somehow managing to find each other in the wild or infecting people with SSSBMTY like a virus, I just fucking adore you.
I am my own target audience when I write so the fact this fuckin' thing is so far reaching BOGGLES MY MIND. I would give nearly ANYTHING to see this red string theory wall you have no IDEA—
The shot of straight crack to my god complex knowing a bunch of tall buff NRL players think I'm cool is immeasurable and insane. I have a confidence high that will last until I'm dead. I don't know if I'll be recovering from this one, emotionally.
TELL HIM TO DROP THE ZOSAN COFFE SHOP AU WITH PARAGRAPH BREAKS AND MY LIFE IS YOURS—
#one piece#sssbmty#one piece ocs#nothing but love in my body for my aussie footy playing fans oml#you're my real actual hero I hope you know that

Let’s put it all on the line, see who’s victorious (Patreon)
#Doodles#Just Desserts#Villainsona#IRL vent stuff in the tags be warned#I've mentioned offhand that Kaiein is inspired by various sources but overall mostly on one person#And I've been very low contact with that person for years now - but I'm going to meet with them in the near future#I'm nervous as you can imagine haha#But I'd like it infinitely more to have to change Kaiein than to have him reinforced so I'm trying to feel hopeful as well#Either way I'm prepared. Either I get to do some rewriting or I have a very well-worn established outlet#Haha - it's a bit funny actually since there's no one-to-one translation but there is a kind of asymmetrical equivalence going on here#I pretty much never include my family in my sonas' stories - which is double funny since I love being an older sibling so much lol#That aspect rarely makes it into my sonas! I guess I feel like it's not my place to make characters for my loved ones lol#But IRL they're my support system <3 I'm in good hands and I trust them to have my back with what I need to face#And Charm has her wings! The Staff! She has something to rely on that make her more capable and confident!#It's not The Same Thing but it's how it feels ♥ The power of love and friendship!! It makes me stronger!!#And that's what makes the difference between Charm as a villain and a Hero :)#I used her TVAU outfit here - or one of the temps anyway :P - but honestly this is probably how S2 would go down hehe <3#You're no match for Charm when she knows she's loved!! She'll fight you to full defeat!#I wonder how he'd react#Guess I'll find out real soon#Wish me luck

the other thing I find very funny about trying to write a canon compliant wol is taking all the wolship hints extremely seriously.
I don't really wolship because I'm just fundamentally not that kind of fan. But I know for those who are, the sheer number of romance hints FFXIV throws at you can be overwhelming to parse in a context where you have a preferred/intended wolship, particularly if you're not attracted to the gender the hints are coming from in the first place (a particular tip of the hat to wlw fans navigating the g'raha of it all). I've seen plenty of people write around them or write them out or be like "no aymeric was for real inviting my wol to a nice platonic zero-subtext dinner," and God bless all of you.
But it's really funny to imagine them all as all-too-real but unreciprocated or perhaps unreciprocatable. The sheer scale of it is comedy. Spoilers for all of FFXIV follow.
Oh God, the Lord Speaker wants to have dinner, just the two of us, at his family estate and not a government building. I hope he doesn't bring up his crush on me. Thal's balls he's about to bring it up—oh thank God there's an emergency. Oh no someone got hurt! Oh no it's the teenage girl with a crush on me.
Your life is a cosmic joke. You watch the Sultana get poisoned and all your friends probably die to save your life and it's kind of all your fault in some ways, I mean at the very least you should've spoken up when they gave the teenager a private army, and then the teenage boy speaks up and is like, "hey, I guess we have at least one ally. What about if we go visit that guy who is really obviously down unbelievably bad for you and wants to lick the sweat off of you." and you have to be like, yeah, Alphinaud. Great idea. Let's do it. I'll call him.
(brief interlude: also haurchefant's DEATH hits so good if you don't reciprocate. It's okay. He gets it. You're going through a lot and even if you had time to sort through your feelings maybe you're just not into him. That would be okay! You can love someone, or the idea of someone, without needing it to be romantically reciprocated. That's chivalric, even. Knightly. So he won't ask you to lie to him and say you love him as he lies dying in your arms. He's not so low as all that. But could you smile for him as you used to? That true hero's smile of yours. And you do, and he dies. And you both know he died for a lie, in a way, or a flight of fancy. And he's okay with that. Are you? Should you be? Should he?)
Then you're into Stormblood and it's like wow, okay. That last part was all high fantasy, of course there were loyal knights and elegant princes. But this is war. Imperialism. Grim business, surely there's no way—oh no BOTH handsome young revolutionary leaders seem to have a special interest in you?! And so does the Crown Prince of the Empire? Come on, man. I should get to do the whole horrors of war thing without having to also deal with this. Gaius sucked and it was weird that he let his foster daughter run around being openly obsessed with him but at least he never made it my problem.
You can't even get away from it across dimensions. Shadowbringers is a horror story about going on a teambuilding camping trip with your work colleagues for some reason except they all suddenly got really hot and they keep touching you affectionately on the shoulder and being like "I care for you and your happiness. Truly." And also you're being stalked for the whole camping trip by two old men who are obsessed with you. The false climax of the story is that the one old man tries to betray you and give a dramatic monologue about how he loves you but the two of you are doomed by the narrative and then the other old man shoots him in the back like "no actually its MY turn to betray them and give a dramatic monologue about how our love is doomed by the narrative." Then the real climax is old man #1 backstabbing old man #2 in the middle of said monologue before old man #2 dies and gives ANOTHER wistful monologue about his doomed love. Then for the patches they're like okay so we have this even CRAZIER old man who's gonna strike when you're weak and give a dramatic monolo—
and that's without even getting into the literal soulmate ghost only you can see
my warrior of light never felt more betrayed than in that scene where Y'shtola is like "haha Alisaie and G'raha have crushes on the warrior of light." Like I thought we were COOL, Y'shtola! I work here! This situation is already in such a delicate balance! Right when I got here I met Alisaie's "friend from work" who was like oh haha so YOU'RE the one she can't stop talking about and we never followed up on that because the woman died horrifically like five minutes later right in front of us! Then when Vauthry got away and we had to do all that shit with the dwarves, G'raha kept pausing every ten minutes to be like oooooh I'm so old I'm gonna die soon...at least I got to spend some time with some people who are really important to me...in fact here's what I'd tell the person who's most important to me...actually u know them really well haha. And I just had to sit there and be like wow, dude, crazy.
even in the face of apocalypse you still gotta go back in time like 12,000 years and there's somewhere there who makes you sit and listen to his story which is that the purpose of his whole godlike immortal life was to be in a throuple with you and old man #2 from the camping trip. and you just gotta sit there the whole time knowing you/your past life is the one who broke up the throuple over politics. He's like come help me harangue the old man into streaking in public, he'll do it if you ask.
then you meet and fight and kill God and you gotta turn to the team and be like hey sorry guys can you give me a sec. I'm gonna call God by her real name because we met one time for like four days and after that the promise of meeting me again was one of the things that sustained her through her millennia of suffering. Not like that but like. Idk. Just gimme a sec!
It's a relief when you finally get to Lahabrea and he's like actually I still don't fuck with your vibe. Like thank GOD.
And my WoL is very obviously dad-shaped so Dawntrail had a very specific energy for me but I understand that for plenty of people your deepening rapport with Wuk Lamat had a romantic subtext (same for Koana depending on how you read a few of his lines). And personally I think it's the height of comedy to be like, noooo, babe, your highness, I know you and your brother the king are in love with me and want me to stick around and support you emotionally through this governmental transition haha. But it's just...the cursed wineglass, babe. I GOTTA go figure out what's up with this cursed wineglass.
It's a running gag in some of the more optional content that people are like "you have an unreasonable number of hobbies and side gigs" to the WoL from time to time. But if every time you tried picking up a new hobby some new elf started baring their soul to you, you too would be like Hey Jessie (or sometimes Krile or Tataru), my good friend who is one of the only people in my life who knows what professional ethics and work-life boundaries are, any chance you need muscle on a gig on the other side of the world? Ideally with only Cid and his ex so all libidinal energy in the room is directed towards machinery or someone who isn't me?
ironically one of the only places you get a break from psychosexual obsession is the nier content

hellooo i just saw open where the reader is shy and it was so sweet but can you write the same context with a more confident reader like she wakes up sees rem and is like 'oh hey its my husband'
hi, i hope you like this!! in this one they have a more established relationship than the shy!reader one <333
remus lupin x fem!reader, fluff
remus likes how your apartment smells.
it's so you. it's like a physical proof of your existence, and remus is grateful for it. he lets himself in quietly, you gave him a spare key weeks ago. he doesn't prefer using it when you can open the door, it's always a delight to see you welcoming him but this time he has to take care of himself. you're sleeping.
he hopes he won't freak you out, he knows you don't have a problem with him coming unannounced and it's a relief even though he always texts you before. he puts the grocery bags on kitchen counter quietly. trying to control where he steps, he comes to your room without making the floor creaking.
your room is not too messy. you always try to convince remus the things are organized in their way, just because they seem messy it doesn't mean they are baby, and remus believes you. you're sleeping soundly in your bed on your right side. you're hugging your pillow, your head on the soft material and your arm on the side.
remus approaches carefully. he sits on the closest empty spot on bed without disturbing you. he doesn't know how to wake you up now, you look so peaceful and honestly, he wants you to get some rest. he rubs a faint finger on your cheek, your eyelashes flutter. blinking your eyes open so slowly, you see remus.
"remus?" you ask, as if you've been dreaming about him and can't believe he's real.
"good morning, pretty." he smiles. "you can keep sleeping, i just wanted to let you know i'm here."
you give him a big big smile and stretch your muscles with a poor attempt. "it's so nice to see you first thing in the morning." you say, leaning on your elbow to kiss his cheek.
"yeah?" remus asks, fixing your bed hair.
"mm-hmm." you nod. "can you do it every day?"
he laughs. "if that's what you want, i can."
you pull him towards you gently, throwing the pillow in the way, and letting remus keep you on his chest. "maybe i should just keep you here." you mumble against him softly.
remus kisses your forehead fondly. you're being too sweet on him and it's so early. he rubs a gentle hand on your back, you should sleep a bit more, or he won't know how to handle your cuteness.
"what time is it?" you ask.
"almost 9 i think." remus answers. "are you tired?"
you snuggle closer. "a little. do you wanna sleep some more? are you hungry?"
remus can sleep with you anytime you want actually. that's like the canon truth of his reality now, you're so warm under the covers and so soft against him. you like waking up before him to kiss his entire face and remus loves opening his eyes to your shameless kisses. he wraps his arm tighter around your body.
"let's sleep, angel." he whispers. "gonna make you pancakes for breakfast."
"we don't have any fruit." you say, sadly.
remus kisses your pout off quickly. "i got you your favorites from the store."
your pout turns into a smile in 2 seconds and you press yourself closer to his neck. "my hero." you say against his ear before kissing the soft skin beneath it. "thank you."
remus adjusts the covers, he kisses you as an answer. your bed is too comfy, he practically melts against you and it's so nice. so nice to have you in his arms first thing in the morning, so nice to have you kiss him sweetly, so nice to be accepted like he belongs here.
he falls asleep before you and you kiss his chin with your eyes closed.

But do you think the plan will work?
Oumota: tarot reading edition! I had this idea during Oumota Week and just got around to finishing it now 😔. At first I thought about giving Sun to Kaito and Moon to Kokichi (a la Reversed Sun by grayimperia), but I think it works better to have them both in each card, to highlight the parallels. (If you want more explanation of my design thoughts, I'll put it under a cut at the end.)
General tarot meanings:
The Sun: happiness, confidence, success, optimism, innocence/childhood, inspiring others, internal motivation, truth
The Moon: illusion, imagination, uncertainty, secrets, confusion, intuition/the subconscious, fears influencing you, insecurity
The Star: hope, regaining inspiration, renewal, healing, moving on, new purpose, calm after the storm (Reversed Star: despair, lack of faith, pessimism, boredom, anxiety, being overwhelmed by past problems)
.
I feel like while Kaito is naturally more Sun coded and Kokichi more Moon coded, they have some qualities of both cards. And Star vs Reversed Star is so temping to bring in for DR.
I was thinking of it as a past, present, future kind of reading, but also maybe situation, action, outcome. Starting out with high self confidence and some childish black and white thinking. (Maybe a little over confident and childish to the point of egotism and inflexibility, shades of reversed sun...). Covering for insecurities by projecting a fake persona to everyone around, doubling down on the lies and self-deception a la chapter 5. Finally, either coming through everything stronger, with renewed hope, or else crashing and burning, overwhelmed by unacknowledged issues that have built up.
.
As for the specific imagery...
Sun: I stuck pretty close to the traditional imagery here. The flag/banner has their respective prints on it, and I put Kaito on Mars while Kokichi remains on Earth. It's also sundown or sunset for Kokichi; is he moving towards the Moon or away? The horse is obv. very chess piece inspired. Kokichi gets his King Horse a la the mask on his bed, and I gave Kaito a pegasus because flying.
.
Moon: Moving a little bit away from traditional imagery as more of the canon situation seeps in, but still pretty close. The moon floats "outside" the cage, wearing their respective false faces. (We know from the ending that the skyline on those glass panels isn't real...) They both have an Exisal in the background in place of one of the towers, but Kaito has a bamboo grove a la Princess Kaguya; Kaguya came from the moon and she will go back, no matter how much people on Earth love her. Kokichi has one of the racks that sits beside shrines where you're supposed to tie bad/unlucky omikuji (paper fortunes) so that the bad luck doesn't follow you; living in purposeful denial of bad things, but they lurk there on the horizon.
They both still have at least one dog/wolf, but I gave Kokichi a fox because of their association with being tricksters. Also, wolves and foxes, as predators, are framed as villains in stories, but at the same time it's also not uncommon to see them as heroes (stereotype of predator/hunter vs stereotype of bravery/nobility and cleverness). Also, contrast of fox and hound, like the clash of Kokichi presenting himself as childish + annoying vs a genuine threat. Kaito has the dog, monkey, and pheasant that accompanied Momotaro, continuing his fairytale theme.
Everyone seems to argue over what the crawfish means in the original, but I went with the interpretation of moving from water to land, evolution, things coming to the surface. So, Kaito has a koi. I think most people know about the "koi climbs a waterfall and becomes a dragon" thing because of Magikarp, but here it is again just in case! Kaito's got an aquatic creature struggling against its nature in hopes of someday actually transforming into something grander. Kokichi has a poison dart frog. Already amphibious, so it can go between water and land freely, but visibly harmful to anyone who tries to get close.
.
Star: The least traditional imagery and the most V3 canon imagery. There's still a tree, but it's a pine tree. ...I dunno, no explanation for that, it just looked nice 🤷♀️The two jugs are replaced with the poison and antidote bottles. Originally, they're supposed to represent the conscious and subconscious and pour in two different places, but here they're mixing together directly. V3 resolves the "truth vs lies" theme by arguing you have to accept ambiguity. Also, Kaito and Kokichi's whole plan rests on them managing to work together to obscure exactly who is in the Exisal in the end.
There's a figure in the foreground in Kaito's jacket, but they're just a silhouette (a la the culprit); it's not either of them, it's both, and they're reaching beyond the bounds of the game. The star in the sky is ringed by the trial podiums, since all of their hope for the future rests in derailing the next trial. Can they win? Well, Shuichi and Kiibo are at the top, the two people they (or at least Kokichi...) know can be problems, but Tsumugi is specifically blocked from view, always overlooked...

I read legend's part on 'they introduce their s/o' and now I can't help but view reader, Legend, and Ravio as basically roommates and I was hoping you could write hc's based on that? I wholeheartedly believe that the two join forces to bully the Vet, or at the very least reader would bully Legend and then rope Ravio into it.
Oh my god, they were roommates.
Masterlist
Content under the cut!
Now just to be clear, Ravio doesn't actually live with them
He just sticks around and doesn't leave and sometimes uses their house as his shop
It doesn't matter that he has his own designated drawer
Ravio actually stays more often than not to accompany you when Legend is out doing his hero thing
It makes Legend feel better to know your not in that house all alone
On the of days when Ravio is back in Lorule and taking care of business there (whatever it is he actually does in that kingdom), Legend tries to be home and much as he can
Legend doesn't want you to feel like he's neglecting you or actually give Ravio the position of being your boyfriend
No, he's not jealous
Ok, maybe he's a little jealous
Ravio on the other hand, is very much aware that it's not his house despite the fact that he doesn't hesitate to make himself comfortable each and every time he shows up
Ravio however, is there to make sure that things that sane and safe
Sure he puts up a front about putting up a shop, but if it gets Legend to stay in the present and be annoyed than sink in the memories of his past adventure, he'll take it
Like you mention in your ask, they bully Legend often
Lovingly, of course
It's a team effort to get him to take care of himself
You get Legend to get out of the house and enjoy life and remember that there are in fact people that love and care about him
While Ravio is the one who bullies him into eating and showering on his worst days
Legend is aware of this
Legend tries to make it easier on the both of you but part of him wishes you two chose a different way to show him you cared about him
But he wouldn't change a thing
It becomes a bit of a game actually
You're the heart of this operation.
Between being Legend's lover and Ravio's (self proclaimed) best friend, you makes sure that no one tries to kill each other
Legend and Ravio get into "fights" often
You're not entirely sure how much of it is real and how much of it is just for the sake of annoying each other because they can
You keep the house clean and cook while Legend takes care of the maintenance
Ravio pays the bills whether he likes it or not because if he's using the house as a shop he's gotta pay the "lease"
Surprisingly, this works quite well
Even more surprisingly (or not) that's one reason Ravio keeps coming back
"If I have to invest so much into this, I might as well enjoy it"
"Ravio, this is my house"
"Our house"

A little something based on a sort of spin-off of @bunnieswithknives's Nature au that my partner and I came up with while chatting. The premise is under the cut because it's kinda of long :')
Conversation taken directly from Discord for efficiency's sake. Regular text is my own, bolded is @adhdemizel
The animal they witness the shooting as is a deer. The last animal Dale sees them as before they reveal their true form is a wolf
I have this concept based on the Nature au in my head of an actual changeling witnessing Dale shoot Dev, and because fae are all about rules and stuff, the changeling travels across the land as various animals until it finds Dale again, only to then reveal its true, monstrous form in the process of ripping Dale's own leg off. Because an eye for an eye and all that jazz
Using magic to blend in or to cover more ground, and finally finding them and SERVING JUSTICE--
After they rip Dale's leg off, Peri comes to investigate all the screaming because he's worried for Dev's safety, and he and the now-a-wolf-again fae, who's soaked in blood, lock eyes, and Peri sees the familar glint of magic, and he knows
Just an actual random changeling who lived in the forest. They aren't a god parent, but rather an independent fae
They have no tie to Dev, other than witnessing his injury, and then feeling the urge to restore the balance that Dale disturbed
They're acting on their own, but do you think they see Peri, another magic creature, and feel like he failed? Disappointed that they had to step up and make things right for another fae's human?
Mmmm not necessarily! I feel like an independent fae would still know the basics about god parents, and how strict the rules they're bound by are. I think they'd be more so angry at the god parent system overall
Peri, also angry at the god parent system
Secretly grateful for this other fae doing what he couldn't
Maybe he's supposed to report to Jorgen about this rogue fae, to keep them from hurting anyone else. But he doesn't
Turning away to let something huge slide because it was in defense of a kid he couldn't protect
I like to think that even Jorgen would have let it slide, if he'd known. Dale deserved it
He'd tell Peri he dealt with it as needed, but literally all he did was go "nice" and shred the report
The other fae goes back home and let's others in the area know to watch out for a one-legged fae hunter with sharp red hair, just in case he tries again
He probably would try again. Now that he knows they're real, he's determined to catch one
That might have been one benefit of Peri actually telling Jorgen--Jorgen would have wiped Dale's memory and made it seem like a normal animal attack
Do you think he'd drag Dev along again?
Oh, certainly. He needs bait, and he can't risk anymore of his own limbs. It was Dev's fault he messed up as bait the first time. He needs to make up for that failure
He plates his prosthetic with iron for extra protection
Not permanently, because it's unsightly, but also not for Dev. He doesn't want anything to ward fae away from Dev.
Surely any changelings who saw Dev would know he's much too young to be the hunter they were told about.... Right?
Fae have impossibly long lifespans, he might look like a child, but all humans seem too young to them
You're right. And he matches the description so perfectly...
I guess it will have to be up to Peri to protect him, when he comes down to it. Lord knows Dale has better things to do
Dale, not-so-secretly hoping Dev gets into a confrontation so he can swoop in- not to play the hero in any way, but so Dev doesn't get in the way again

if trouble needed peter during the breakup do you think she’d still be able to call?
yes. and i will now expand, thank u.
peter stares down at his phone, it's not that he's against answering, it's that he doesn't think you meant to call him. or maybe you're drunk and want to berate him.
either way he'd hear your voice and that would be really nice.
'hello?'
'hey.'
okay, you meant to call him. you don't sound drunk, you sound sad.
'everything okay?'
a slight muffle, you switch ears. 'no, not really. i'm lost.'
'on what?' you breathe out a laugh, peter smiles.
'no, actually lost. i was... i'm sorry, i don't mean to hit you where it hurts but i was out with this guy and he ditched me and i have no fucking idea where i am and my phone's about to die.'
peter's quiet, he's all you have right now.
'you're my only hope, obi-wan.' a cheap shot at help, peter appreciates the effort.
'it's- help me, obi-wan kenobi, you're my only hope.'
your turn to smile. 'close enough.'
peter slowly moves around, patting down his pockets to make sure he has everything. 'it's late, trouble. why were you ditched?'
you laugh, but it's not funny. 'you know, it sucks to say that you're the only guy that never threw a temper tantrum when i didn't wanna fuck.'
ouch, a slight sting. it feels better to know it didn't happen, painful to think it could. 'at least i was good at something.'
'well... you weren't terrible at the sex either. you were good enough you scared me from getting it anywhere else, don't know if you can say the same.'
peter closes his eyes when he breathes in, you haven't hooked up with anyone else either. 'if you're asking, no, i haven't hooked up with anyone.'
'i didn't ask.' ah, that's what peter was waiting for. the bait of a question, to turn around and pretend you didn't care what the answer was. peter knows you're just as relieved that he hasn't either.
'where am i going, trouble?' you give him street names, his heart stutters. it's far, it's late, and it's definitely not safe.
'you're outside? nowhere for you to go?'
'when i say ditched, i mean it. if it wasn't so weird i'd ask you to kick his ass.' peter kind of wants you to ask, he'd do it gladly. and half of it wouldn't even be because he left you hanging.
'how much battery do you have left?' a brief pause, you're checking.
'three percent.'
peter hates what he's about to say, but hates the idea of you with a dead phone even more. 'okay, hang up and i'll come find you.' for a second he thinks you did, until you push out the real reason you called him.
'i'm scared.' so you called him, your protector, your safety blanket.
'i'm coming, i promise.' he's already out of the house, walking one half of the way and he'll cut his time in half by swinging the rest. 'ten minutes, maybe less. i might even break out a light jog for you.'
you look around, there's no one. it feels even more eerie, you're still on three percent. 'do i really have to hang up?' leaving out the 'i need to hear your voice to make everything okay.'
'i want you to save what you have, just in case.'
'okay.' it's not, you can feel your chest tighten and the urge to cry. everything sucks and you just really want peter which somehow makes things simultaneously worse and better.
'hey, peter?' you think you'll regret it.
'yeah?'
'can i spend the night?' you count the seconds. two.
'yeah, of course. always. anytime, you know that.'
you smile, he's still your peter. 'thank you. and thanks for coming to save me.'
'it's kind of my job, some even call me a hero.'
'okay, obi-wan.'
'more like spider-man.'
'oh, you're so full of yourself. you wish you were spider-man.'
peter kisses his teeth, 'no, i really am.'

⊱✿⊰ summary: a class 1b girl admires Bakugo, what happens when she finally does something to grab his attention?
⊱✿⊰ warnings: swearing? fighting: mentions of injuries, blood, bullying this is platonic i imagine
⊱✿⊰ notes: this is pretty different from the request but uhh yipee yay im so cool Idrk what to say, I might edit this once I actually write the thing.
His bone crunched beneath your fist, a sickening blow to the center of his nose. You weren't to blame for the fight, it was fully the boy you were beating up who was at fault.
"Ugh, you...bitch!" He growled, wiping blood that was leaking from his nose. You narrowed your eyes dangerously, powers flickering to life. You shouldn't have let his stupid comments get to you, it doesn't matter that Bakugo hasn't noticed you. But the way he acted like he was somehow superior to you just because he was in 2a made you feel infuriated.
You were honestly very fired up at this point, you wanted to smash this dude's face into the ground. For now, you grabbed his collar and gave him a right hook. He was honestly pretty lame, he didn't even block the punch.
"What is going on in here?" A voice boomed, making your back straighten and the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. The boy had a similar reaction, while also taking this chance to worm his way out of your iron grip.
Rigidly you turned around, plastering a big smile on as you looked at All Might. He was frowning at you, eyebrows furrowed with frustration.
"Fighting other future heroes is not good behavior." He scolded, voice echoing throughout the courtyard. You felt all stares on you, prickling your skin like they were actually touching you. "You two are going to Nezu's office."
Sighing, you followed All Might while sparing a glance to the student who has formed a crowd around you. Your eyes met red, a scowl on the blond boy's face as he stared directly at you.
Bakugo noticed you. Bakugo noticed you.
•───────────•°•❀•°•──────────•
"Oi! You, what's your name?" Bakugo called, walking rapidly towards you. (In all honestly you couldn't help but feel your heart rush with excitement.)
"I'm [Last Name] why're you asking?" You replied, trying to keep your cool. Emphasis on the trying, after all it isn't everyday your UA role model notices you. He was hovering by you, arms crossed over his chest and his constant constipated expression on his face.
"I saw your fight and I'm glad that dickhead finally got what's been coming his way." Bakugo said with a shrug, "I wanted to know who actually deserves a place in this school."
"So, I'm...not an extra to you? Even though I'm in 1b?" You asked, eyebrow raised slightly. It was strange, bantering with someone you have imagined as a role model. This felt like a fever dream.
"Eh, you're less of an extra. I'll keep an eye on you, [Last Name.] I hope you meet my expectations." Bakugo said, before marching away once again. Holy...fucking..shit.
You watched him walk away, eyes wide and jaw slightly dropped. Surely this was fiction, surely a hallucination caused by head trauma. You pinched your arm to check, and sure enough this was real.
You hoped to meet his expectations too.

| My dove | Ben x reader | chapter 1 |
Masterlist
Warnings : none
Word count : 5.6k
A/N : you’re an alien but you mostly look human but you have halos and wings. English is not my first language but I still hope you’ll enjoy my work
Credits : @cafekitsune for the divider
Loud foot steeps echoed in the halls, the jingles of the many trinkets of its owner followed. They suddenly stopped. In front of a metal door, the owner takes out a badge for the door to scan.
Entering their home, the person found a special communication badge sitting on their table. Whiteout a word, they simply walk towards it and listen to its message.
The self proclaimed savior of the universe, Ben Tennyson, finally arrived back to HQ. Casually slurping his smoothie and walking over to his grandpa with cross arms and partner, Rook, both having waiting for him for too long.
"Sorry I'm late" Ben takes another slurp of his smoothie.
Grandpa Max uncrosses his arms, the little frown on his face still there.
"You're not on your own schedule anymore, Ben. You can't keep your partner waiting." Ben looked tiredly at his uncle, trying to come up with an excuse.
"I was...Off saving the universe !"
His grandpa glanced over at the smoothie cup the brunet held in his hand. Ben looked at where he was staring, not understanding what that look meant.
Grandpa Max smiled. "Good luck on your patrol, maybe with some luck, you two will meet your other partner."
"Wait ! Grandpa Max, what do you mean by other partner ? Don't you just mean Rook ? because I've already meet him !"
Ben did not want to deal with another person, Rook was nice enough but what if his new partner just ends up being bossy ? Plus, he'sBen Tennyson ! The savior of the universe ! On multiple occasions !
"I thought you were aware of our other partner ?"
"Wait, you knew ?!"
Ben looked at Rook with surprise, why does nobody ever tell him anything !
"I was informed of a third party, I do not know their name or face, all I know is that they are a high ranking member of the plumbers."
"And you're only telling me now ?"
"As I've already said, I thought you knew."
Ben sighs, maybe with luck, they won't meet they're other partner.
"Come on Rook, l'est go. I'm parked over here."
"We'll take mine."
Rook show what looks like a high tech plumber vehicle to Ben's interest, only to be disappointed when the vehicle moves to show a truck belonging to his grandpa's shop.
"Wow, I bet the girls all start screaming when they they see this ride rolling down on the block."
Rook only looks at him with confusion. "Females are not afraid of my vehicle. But they probably should be."
Rook smiled, taking his keys and activating his car, it slowly transformed into a more intimidating mini spaceship with the plumber symbol on its wings. Ben's mouth was agape at how cool the vehicle looked. Smiling while glancing at Rook.
"Sometimes, you're actually awesome."
Rook smiled. Ben quickly started to walk over the car. "Sometimes."
Rook followed Ben, not bothered by the cocky brunet's last comment. The vehicle flew off into one of the many secret tunnels, transforming back into a regular truck when it was about to enter a normal traffic.
There was no words exchange between the partners. Ben continuously slurped loudly on his smoothie, earning Rook's attention.
"I'm not familiar with human emotional cues, but are you angry at me ?"
"Nah, just bored. I'm feeling more like a tour guide then a hero lately. Over here, on your right you'll see a city and over on your left, you'll see something that we call water. Careful it's wet."
"Water is wet, I'm familiar with that."
They both smiled at each other. The brunet suddenly felt a bit of guilt for leaving Rook hanging.
"I'm sorry that I left you waiting around. I just don't want to change how I work. I've saved the universe a million times, at least." Ben takes more sips of his smoothie.
"That is why I look forward to this. I hope that the real Ben Tennyson lives up to the legends."
Ben stopped drinking his smoothie the moment he heard his name and legend in the same sentence. He looks back at his tall partner.
"Thy're legends ?" Rook nods.
"They can't all be true thought, for instance, alien X. That's just a rumor a fan made up and put on the extranet, right ?
Ben smirked."Alien X is real." He proudly claims.
"He is ?" Rook turned his head to Ben's direction.
"Show me, change into alien X right now."
"I'd better not." Rook's head turned back to the road.
Ben played around with his smoothie cup."It's a whole things."He then went on to continue drinking his smoothie, Rook gave Ben a side eye.
"Just as I thought."
"Look, find us a little heroing to do and you can tell me if I live up to the legends.
The truck suddenly rolled faster on the road. The two actively searched for any criminals or criminal activity to resolve, only for it to end up with alien eating cars that stopped the moment they saw Ben and a thief that returned the bag to an old lady.
The two heroes only ended up back in Rook's truck, observing their surroundings. Rook eating chips while Ben only lounged around comfortably.
"Some heroeing so far. At least the world is safe from car munching aliens."
Ben put his arms on the solid construct in front of him and rested his chins. He pointed out to a teenager walking by them.
"Look, some normal dude."
Ben got up from his position and sarcastically commented. "Maybe we should arrest him for jaywalking."
Rook didn't respond for some time, his keen eyes could see that the teenager had some kind of alien technology.
"His phone shouldn't be powered here on earth. Is that normal ?"
The teenager with black and red hair, held some kind of phone, wired to his backpack.
"No, that's not normal."
They both got out of the truck and followed the edgy teenager into a dark alleyway in a not so discreet manner. Catching the attention of the teen, who ready himself to shoot them. Ben used himself as a shield to protect Rook, the teen hastily runs away.
"You're welcome."
Ben says to Rook as they both quickly got up and chased down their attacker. The attacker take another turn toward a dark alley. Before the duo are able catch him, the teen gets in his car and drives away. Ben smiles and gets up before Rook.
"Finally, some action."
Ben runs directly towards a wall while using his omnitrix.
"Bigchill, will let me cut right into these buildings."
Only for him to transform into some kind of fire alien and slam himself into the wall. Ben scratches a bit his head, Rook joins his side.
"Heatblast ? Seriously ?"
Ben and Rook both look at the giant building in front of them.
"Time to improvise."
The brunet used his fire powers to fly over the building and catch up to their attacker. The edgy teen tried to shoot the flaming alien, only to barely manage to pass by Rook's truck. The later transform his truck into a flying plumber ship and chased the teen with Ben.
Ben was able to use his flame powers to melt the red car's wheel. His omnitrix started beeping, signaling that it was about to go on cool down. As Ben transformed back into a human, he braced himself for the pain of the crash against the floor.
On the other hand, the edgy teen took that opportunity to run away. Before the teen could get away, a figure appeared in the sky and tackled him.
Rook quickly got out of his car, only to be meet with a [hair color] haired girl cuffing the teen as he protested.
"What is your deal ?! I wasn't doing anything !"
Earning a harsh pinch on the ear from the girl.
"I just saw you attempt shooting two member of the plumber's organisation and actively running away from them with no justification. You'll complain to the judge, not me."
"And a super hero !" Ben joins Rook side, looking as perplexed .
"Who are you ?"
The girl turned her head away from the criminal and the omnitrix user. She handed over the criminal to the taller alien.
The multiple rings above her head shining beautifully under the moon, two of them were golden, spiky and crossed, near the back of her head but still large enough to be visible while another less large golden halo floated directly above her head.
She wore a pair of black short and black shirt that went up to the middle of her neck, the shirt exposing her shoulder with lower frilly [favorite color] sleeves over long black sleeves that stopped at her fingers, only exposing her ring and index fingers . On her thighs [favorite] thigh bracelet, and [favorite color] flat shoes.
The many flower and bell trinkets on her stood out : on the three floating rings near her head, on her ankles, her sleeves and her waist.
"I am [name], no last name. I am a
Magister under the plumber organisation and your new partner."
Rook's eyes widened while Ben still looked unimpressed.
"I am Rook Blonko. You really are magister [name] ? It's an honor to meet you." Rook's eyes shined with admiration.
Before Rook could advance towards you, Ben stopped him.
"How can we trust you ?"
The halo floating directly above her head moves in front of her, she puts her hand through it and takes out a plumber badge.
"Excuse me of my tardiness, the day we were all supposed to meet, I was held up by some extraterritorial affair. Don't get the wrong idea, I would rather not work with you." You pointed at Ben. "I only accepted because your grandfather requested it, I could not refuse a request from him. I owe him a lot."
Rook looked excited to work with you, Ben looked tired and disappointed. You walked over in front of them.
"Also..."
The two boys received a slap at the back of their head.
"How could you cause so much damage on your first mission together ?! Do you know how much property damage you've both caused ? Most of the plumber budget is wasted to fix everything you've both damaged ! Have you also thought of some aliens or people that could've been hurt ? Also about some that cannot afford insurance ?"
Ben tried soothing the pain. "Aliens have insurances ?" You pinched the bridge of your nose, already annoyed and tired. You quickly took out your plumbers badge and sent a voice message. "Send compensation to the aliens that have been harmed or have had property damage and make them sign an insurance, over." Ben only grumbles as he went on to checked the weapons the now handcuffed teen had. You stayed on the sideline while your junior plumber was holding onto the criminal, observing what the so called "hero of the universe" would do.
"Alien communicator, alien weapon...Please tell me you're working for somebody big and dangerous so I could kick his but." A vein popped up on your head, Ben Tennyson had to be one of the most obnoxious person you've had to deal in a long while.
The teenager with a red hair strip only scoffed.
"You guys wouldn't last a minute against my boss." The teen smiled proudly.
Humans are such difficult species to deal with...
There was suddenly a weird noise coming from the teen's car engine. Everyone's head turned towards it.
"This doesn't sound like a typical earth combustion engine."
"Well, lest hurry and find out." The three of you walked closer towards the red car.
"Who's opening it ?" You asked, not wanting to open it in case it was some kind of farce or explosion.
Ben looked at you with a smirk. "Ladies first !"
"Shouldn't the male go first ?"Rook responded innocently.
This poor unfortunate soul, he sadly had to partner up with a doofus.
You sighed as you opened the car engine, only to be meet with a cracking yellow container. And just as you expected there was some kind of explosion. Your wing appeared out of reflex as it shielded you and your teammates. Your right wing was as white as snow while your left one was holographic but able to protect Ben from the explosion.
"What the f-" You put your holographic wing over Ben's mouth.
"No swearing when I'm here." Brook looked amazed and shook at the same time.
"A halo, [eye color] and wings...Arr you perhaps an ornix, magister [name] ? Weren't they-"
"We'll talk about it another time. I think we have a bigger issue to deal with."You pointed at the black and yellow humanoid batteries. The little electric creature turned itself into lightening and quickly jumped onto the red hair streak teen that was trying to run away.Opening the metal backpack to reveal another one of his. There was now two megawatts.
"Megawatts ?I haven't seen these guys in years." Ben said in disbelief.
"They are Nosedeenians's from the Nosideen Quasar planet. They are know for being mischievous, not knowing the repercussions of their actions but do not hold any ill will against humans unless provoked." You take out one of the many trinket decorating your halos, specifically a flower formed only with cubes. The moment you touched it, it recognizes you and formed into a tablet with a special pen provided with it. You starts writing down everything that happened until now.
"We get it Einstein but I think the name I found is way better." Ben proudly proclaims.
"Are they registered in the intergalactic data or library ? I think not. Also, who is this Einstein ?" You said while looking at the official information recorded about the species on your tablet.
"Then I'll have to request it, they'll for sure are going to accept mine immediately !" Ben joked, not noticing the side eye you were giving him.
"I doubt it." You returned to looking through some of the files, taking his words literally .
"Your sense of humour is as dry as the Sahara desert..."
"I do not want to interrupt your conversation but what should we do about these Nosedeenians ? I haven't face a nosedeenians until now. Any advice ?" Rook turned towards you and Ben. You all watch the megawatts electrocute the other teen. Before you or Ben could answer, one of the humanoid batteries used its power to pass through the blue alien's weapon only to shock him afterwards.
Ben looked tiredly at Rook being shocked by the two megawatts.
"Try not to let them zap you."
"Is that the only advice you can give ?" You gave him a disappointed look.
"Got any better, miss know it all ?" He asked with sarcasm laced in his voice.
"Good point." One of the batterie like alien was now attempting to zap you. The electricity only passed through your halos and transferred itself to Ben.
"Ow ! Watch it !"
"I can't control where electricity goes." You feigned innocence.
"Can't control my ass ! I can see your huge smile ! How did it even not affect you ?!"
"My halo's can conduct electricity and transfer it wherever I want." You pointed at them "Also as stated before, do not swear in my presence."
"Well now thanks to you, I took your hit." After having their fun, the two Nosedeenians teleported themselves on an electric post. Taunting the three of you and afterwards trying to escape.
"We need to stop them !"
"Already on it." You and Rook said in unison. Rook and Ben started to chase the Nosdeenians while you used your wings to fly after these two little devils. Accidentally leaving behind the edgy teen, leaving him the opportunity to run away.
Even though you were pretty fast with your wings, the Nosedeenians were faster as the they travelled in their electric forms.
"If only we were in a more isolated area..."
You muttered to yourself.
"Says the person who literally is flying."
Ben's voice popped up in your earpiece.
"Which direction did the Nosedeenians take miss [name] ?" Rook's voice joined.
"Left and then straight" You informed them trying to catch up to the Nosedeenians.
You could see from where you were that Ben had transformed into what he called "clockwork" or a chronosapien. Rook had taken another route in hopes of ambushing the two black and yellow batteries. One of them had seen you catching up to them so casted electric shocks your way. You dodged many of them but they still managed to hit you, leading the little gadget creating your left wing to malfunction.
You safely landed near Tennyson, struggling to run in his clock form.
"Glad to see ya join us in this little chase..." Ben, still able to crack a joke even though he could barely breathe.
"Save it, we're losing them."
Your way was blocked by Ben who took a pause from running, too much out of breath.
"You're blocking my way ! Dam it, we've lost them !" You said a bit pissed, not at Ben but at yourself.
If I was able to dodge that beam then we wouldn't be here...
To both of your surprise, the little creatures returned towards you, taunting you.
"Wait could it be..." Before you could finish your sentence, the Nosedeenians were already back running. You and Ben both shared a glance and nodded at each other. You started to push Ben a bit to make him move faster, you weren't the strongest but you were at least trying.
When you arrived near the stairs, Rook cached up. You all watch the Nosedeenians going into of the warehouse. A beeping sound started to go off and shortly, Ben returned to his human form. He was clutching on you for dear life, taking multiple breathes. You really couldn't car less at the moment. Rook appeared worried as he approached the savior of the universe.
"Are you okay, Ben ?" Ben raised his hand for second to signal for more time.
"Give me a sec, so I don't hurl..." Rook turned his head back at the warehouse. "It's a miracle they didn't escape a chronosapien." Rook commented.
"They must have wanted us to follow them. I see no other reason." You responded. You were starting to get annoyed with the 'savior of the universe' sweating and panting while holding onto you. He better not use you as his personal napkin or puke on you. On the other hand, Rook, being the angel that he is was more preoccupied by Ben's state.
"Do you need more time ?"
"No, but if you see my face turning green, step back."
"Here, have this. It will probably help with your nausea." You take out a [favorite color] flower and handed it to Ben. He looked at you with confusion but you insisted on him sniffing it. As Ben took a few sniff from the flower, his nausea was starting to fade.
"I don't feel sick anymore, what flower is that ?"
You gently put the [favorite color] flower back on your halo. "I think it's best if you don't know. L'est move on, we have noosedeenians to catch up too."
You walked past the boys who only exchanged a shrug with his other partner. The three of you proceeded to run to the warehouse. After carefully entering, you all hid behind crates. The sight of the huge contraption keeping in the Nosedeenians horrified you. They all looked tired and hurt. The two previous Nosedeenians you were after were trying to free their own with no success. One of the two jumped repeatedly and waved his arms at your direction.
"I see it but I don't believe it. The megawatts need our help." Ben said out loud, his voiced echoed through the whole building. You put your hand over Ben's mouth and used your other hand to make a shush sign.
"As plumbers, we need to help every species suffering from the wrongdoings of others and punish them." You whispered.
"Someone has set up a factory that uses them as a power source." Rook whispered. Rook must have seen something as he quickly pushed you and Ben further into the crates to hide. You could feel Ben's little scream on the hand you were using to silence him. Ben pushed your hand over his mouth and gave you an annoyed look. You ignored him and looked at the direction your blue partner was looking at. On the upper level, a boy with a white Mohawk and wearing alien tech passed by. The boy soon noticed the two noosedeenians trying to free the others. He jumps down and uses his machinery to confine the two aliens in it and use them as power sources.
From behind you, you could hear electric sounds approaching you. Your team looked at each other and nodded. Ben kicked the person behind you to the wall.
"Not bad." You commented, quite impress.
"You haven't seen the best-" Ben was cut off, you were all trapped in some kind of electric force field. You gave a deadpan look at Ben while he gave you a nervous grin.
The criminal, Ben had kicked to the wall quickly got up and smiled when he heard the noise of the warehouse door open. A tall men with spiked hair and makeup on his face that resembled a skull entered with the previous edgy teen that ran away before, following behind.
"You better be worth interrupting my workout for." He approached a punching bag.
The subordinates that was holding the three of you hostage in his force field looked at his boss. "Look like spies, Fistrick."
The man named Fistrick throws the towel around his neck off and start punching the punching bad.
"You got spies ? In my house of business ?" He continuously punches.
You took that time to try and fix the engine that helped you fly while Rook was trying to make his electron entanglement disrupter function. He would sometimes silently pat your shoulder so you can help him a bit. Ben on the other hand was having a conversation with Fistrick and his 'business'. By the time they had finished their exchange, Fistrick noticed too late what you and Rook were doing.
The moment the force field was destroyed, Ben had transformed into a segmentasapian or what he called 'Blox' and went to attack Fistrick. Rook was occupied fighting one of the lackeys, you trusted his abilities in combat so let him deal with it alone. You ran towards the main machine that was keeping the Noosedeenians trapped. The system was easy enough for you to hack into it but took some time to load. Before you could actually free them, Fistrick ran towards your direction and pushed you as far as he could from the computer. He activated some kind of button and jumped into a hole that had opened up. Rook and Ben quickly ran your way and helped you get up.
"Are you fine miss [name] ?" Rook asked with genuine worry.
"You did take a pretty violent push." Ben said as he helped you up. You only coughed a bit.
"I'm fine, you get used it with this kind of job." You southed the pain on your butt.
A rumbling was heard from the hole the main criminal jumped into. The three of you took a few steps back when Fistrick reappeared inside a giant robot armor with a smirk.
"You've never asked us why we needed so many of these Noosedeenians." The capsule closes, the little screams of the Noosedeenians could be heard as their energy was forcibly used for the robot. "Lest take this baby for a test drive. It looks like I'm getting my workout after all." The machine starts taking steps towards your team. You all looked a bit surprised but prepared yourselves for the fight.
"A class twelve armored mecha suit. Have any of you dealt with one before ?" Rook looked at both you and Ben. "No, how do you beat it." Ben said seriously, specifically looking at you. "You could try alien X." Rook proposes, Ben sent him a glare. "Stop it."
"I've mostly dealt with diplomatic affairs but even so, our main issues is not how we are going to take down that mech but more like how are we going to take down the mech whiteout hurting the Nosedeenian." Red dots appeared on the three of you. You all looked at where it came from, seeing Fistrick ready to fire.
You quickly ran away before the missiles could shoot you. The last one did hit all of you, you were blown to the other side of the room, the boys were only blown a few feet apart the mech.
"Woooo, I love it !" You could hear Fistrick's happy voice echo, you just wanted to punch him right now. The moment he is out of that machinery, you are so going to pluck out each of his teeth individually...
Calm your murderous thoughts [name]...
Fistrick was more focused on the boys, you used that opportunity to try and fix your wing engine. By the time you had finished fixing it, the fight had been taken outside, with Ben transforming into a Galilean. You activated your engine and your holographic wing appeared, you flew outside and landed on the roof of the warehouse. You didn't know what happened to Rook but you had to help Ben, he was being repeatedly punched by the mech. You used two of your halos to hold back the mech's fists.
"What the...Seems like little lady over there thinks she can play hero." He struggles a bit but manage to take them off and tries to throw them back at you. The halos only come back to their original places and your smirk.
"This pretty lady only needed some extra time."
"What-" He was hit by a crane. You took a few steps aside as the mech was blown away and crashed through the roof and back inside.Rook got out of the vehicle for a second and waved at you "Thank you for your help." You gave him a thumbs up before quickly joining them. Rook turned towards Ben "And you're welcome."
"You guys came in clutch." Your short victory was soon over when Fistrick jumped back outside.
"Weak." He says
"Miss [name], Ben, I think I can separate the megawatts from the suit, but It will be a difficult shot. Try and get the suit to stop moving." Rook yells out
"Yeah, thanks Rook, I'll be onto that."
"We’ll be onto it." You corrected Ben.
"Ok, excuse me but what are we going to do ?"
"Try and submerge him in the nearby water, even though it's a type twelve machine, it has many flaws."
"Already on it."
The red mech ran towards Ben, before it could reach him, Ben used his gravitational powers to throw the machine close by to the water and putting pressure on it. Fistrick tries to relentlessly get up but you used your halos to pin the machines arms down.
"You two got anything else, hero and pretty lady or are you both just one trick ponies." He says mockingly. You royally ignored him, more concentrated on using your free hand to fill out the report for the mission you are currently dealing with on your tablet.
"Hey it's my first time using this guy, and little miss [name] over there probably has more tricks up her sleeve if she is a magister." Ben gave you a sly smile that you ignored in favor of completing your report."You might be able to withstand forty G's, but I don't think the docks can. What do you think ?"
At the exact same time, the docks had crumbled under the pressure. You quickly brought your halos back in their original places before they were submerged in water. Ben continuously put the mech in and out of the water, it looked like Ben was enjoying this a bit too much. You flew to his side and elbowed him.
"Come on, don't be a party popper ! I was just about to stop anyways." Ben laughed a bit.
You gave him a side eye."Tennyson, we have to save the Noosedeenians. Then you can do whatever you want with the perpetrator, that stays in line with the law of course."
"Why do you have to make it sound like I am going to do heinous crimes ?" Ben grimaced a bit.
The mech was now floating in the air, still as a rock. You looked towards Rook and gave him a thumbs up again. The blue alien took a deep breath and shoots his arrows on the back of the red mech. The containers on it all launched into the ground, the glass shattering and freeing all the noosedeenians in it.
"Nice shot !" Ben yelled towards Rook, you quietly applauded. And again, your victory was short lived when multiple missiles were launched at your way. Half of them were after Ben and the other, you.
Before the missiles even had the chance to touch you. One of your halos swiftly moved in front of you, now extended to protect you. All the missiles were swallowed in it with no effort.
"Whoa ! That's a pretty cool trick, mind if I send you more ?" Ben, just discovering his own orbit, was controlling the trajectory of the missiles that were aimed towards him. The same Halo approach Ben's orbit and swallowed all the missiles. A second halo was placed in front of Fistrick's mech.
You looked down at the mech again. Hearing's Fistrick's worry echo in the armor. "This is not good."
You only gave him a cold glare before looking back at your fingers. At a snap, you could launch everything at him.
"Comme on miss, we can make some kind of deal ! I'll give you thirty percent of the profit if you let me go !" The only thing he managed with those words was to piss you off.
"As a magister , my duty is to punish those who harm others and do not abide by the law. Do you think I would stoop so low ? You're only receiving what you deserve."
Snap
All missiles that were engulfed in your halo all come out through the one in front of Fistrick. Sending him and his Mech at the other side of the dock.
You only dusted yourself off as you approached Ben and Rook. They were quite shaken by how scary you looked a few moments ago. You only look at them confused. "Is there something on my face ?" You frowned.
"No, ma'm !" They both exclaimed at the same time. You shrugged it off, and walked ahead of them to go arrest the criminal and clean off the area.
"That wasn't easy." Rook said tiredly.
Ben transformed back into a human and looked at Rook with a smile. "It never is."
"Are you two coming ?" You called out.
Ben and Rook jumped out of fear.
"And also scary." Rook whispered shouted at Ben.
"Talk about new partner..." Ben whispered shouted back.
You all waited for a plumber team to arrive and clean the scene. All the criminals were arrested. You finish off the report and send it off back at HQ. Uncle Max happily walked over to the three of you with his own tablet and pen. You looked up at him with respect.
"I heard there's a colony of megawatts that helps power undertown." He informed.
That's weird, you've never heard of this information before...
"Since when ?" Ben voiced your thoughts out.
Uncle Max pointed at a direction and your gazes follow. "Since now."
All the megawatts that were saved, all entered a tube and waves back with huge grins at your team. It is a pretty nice ending.
"Anytime guys." Ben saluted the megawatts with some kind of earthling sign. You probably will have to study more on human culture...
"Don't the Tennyson legends usually end with some kind of blended beverage." Rook asked curiously.
"Are Tennyson's stories really that popular in plumber school ?" You ask Rook, intrigued by the beverage. Rook nodded and you let out a hum.
"You guys mean smoothies ?" Ben shakes one of his arms. "Nah, they're more of a daytime thing. At night, it's chilly fries!" Ben walked off in the plumber spaceship with one of his arms pumped up upwards
"Are those some kind of frozen meal ?" You ask, you've never heard of such foods before. You quietly joined Ben in wherever you all were going. You had finished all your paperwork currently. Might as well indulge yourself a little tonight.
"Okay." Rook seemed a bit exasperated with the food mentioned.
As the spaceship was taking off Ben had to mention one last thing. "By the way, Alien X is real."
"Why can't I see it ?" Rook asked.
"Mister Blonko has quite a valid reason to not believe you, Tennyson." You retorted back.
"You can just call me Rook, magister [name]. I don't deserve such title from a magister like you !"
You looked the other way. "Fine, mister Rook but I believe I believe your skills are really phenomenal. I am not as impressive as you are."
"Nonsense, you are one the youngest magister in history. You deserve every merit give magister [name]. Do not call me by any title. Just Rook."
You looked down the ground. "Okay, Rook. Then only call me [name] then." You muttered, loud enough for Rook and Ben to hear the hint of hesitation in your voice. Rook smiled and gave your a thumbs up. Now his attention was back on Ben
"But still, why can't I see alien X, Ben ?"
"Guys...there's some things you're gonna have to trust me on."
"Show us some proof then. With no proof , your words are as hollow as your mind, Tennyson."
"Hey ! What did I do ?!"

Unwanted, Chapter 1: Unarmed, Pt. 1
Pairing: Bucky Barnes x Avenger!Fem!Reader
Summary: (For this part only) Following the events of CA:CW, Tony Stark has offered Steve Rogers an olive branch of sorts to bring The Avengers back together. You, CTO of Stark Industries and head of Innovation & Technology for the Avengers' Initiative, have your doubts, as you're not quite ready to forgive Captain America for ripping your family apart just yet. Steve had one condition, however, when agreeing to return to the team, one that's going to turn your life upside down and inside out: If he's coming back to join The Avengers, he's bringing his best friend, Bucky Barnes, with him.
Warnings: (For this part only) Language (obviously), minor mention of alcohol, I'm obviously on Team Tony during the CW; don't come for me, awful jokes, minor use of (Y/N). As always, if I missed any, please let me know.
Word Count: 3.2k
A/N: Here's a little preview of Unwanted. In it's current form, it's standing at about 50k words, with about 25k still in editing, and I'm maybe about half done with writing the entire thing? I'm not going to lie, it starts out cute and fluffy, but it's gonna get real angsty and painful. Dear Reader has unresolved emotional trauma and Bucky doesn't understand the importance of boundaries in 21st century relationships. This piece has been my baby for several months now; I really hope ya'll enjoy reading it as much as I've enjoyed writing it! Banner By: The absolutely amazing @mrsbuckybarnes1917
Taglist: (Please let me know if you'd like to be added!) @blackhawkfanatic
"You're sure you're cool with this, Boss?" you asked Tony Stark, for what was probably the ten thousandth time in the last hour. The two of you were sitting by yourselves off in a corner of the common area of the Avengers Tower while the rest of your team congregated around the bar, eagerly anticipating the official return of Captain America to the Avengers. That, by itself, would be enough to warrant a gathering of Earth's mightiest heroes, but what had everyone in attendance talking was the fact that Steve Rogers wouldn't be returning alone.
Your billionaire employer sighed and swirled his glass of Laphroaig, the amber liquid sloshing along the sides of the tumbler. "I don't love it, Pocket, but it was Cap's only condition for coming back into the fold, and since Barton, Wilson, and Maximoff all went off the reservation with him, it seemed a small price to pay to get everyone back under one roof." He took a swig of his whiskey and smacked his lips.
You couldn't help but smile at his use of your nickname. Thor had inadvertently given it to you when you first met the God of Thunder years ago, remarking for everyone to hear that you were so small and tiny, he could tuck you into his pocket and abscond away with you to Asgard. Somehow, it stuck. You'd hated it at first; it had felt dismissive and condescending, which of course meant that it soon became the only thing the members of your team called you, but the more they used in their daily lives, the more you actually came to love it. It was a brand new, unique identity that came to embody the person you’d become, and the past you’d worked so hard to put behind you. You were more likely to answer to 'Pocket,' now, than you were your legal name, and you were grateful for it.
"Besides," Tony continued with a shrug, "if letting the Barnes thing go means we get the band back together, I'm willing to be the bigger person about it."
You stared at him, impressed. "Well look at you. When did you get so emotionally evolved?"
"Since Pepper told me I needed to start seeing a therapist or she’d leave me once and for all," he admitted to you with a cheeky wink; you both knew that, though Tony drove his partner, Pepper Potts, absolutely insane sometimes, she loved him far too much to ever walk away from him for good. That didn’t stop the threats, though. Lord knows he tried her patience. In your opinion, the woman was a saint.
Your eyes widened at the revelation and you let out a low whistle of appreciation. "You're going to therapy? Wow. Tony, That's amazing. I'm proud of you."
"Oh please," Tony scoffed, "I have much more important things to do than sit on a couch and spill my feelings. Besides, my secrets are too valuable to divulge to an actual human being. I just trained FRIDAY on therapeutic conversational datasets so she can handle all that psychological mumbo jumbo and then I paired that with BARF's augmented reality-- it's seriously the platinum standard in mental healthcare. No awkward silences or judgmental stares, just pure efficiency. You should try it; it’d do you wonders. And the best part? No copays."
You chuckled as you took a sip of your pineapple and Malibu. "Yeah, okay. That completely tracks for you," you told him with a smile. "So, what did Dr. FRIDAY tell you that got you to change your mind about the Barnes situation?"
Furrows appeared between Tony's eyebrows as he took another sip of whiskey to buy time for collecting his thoughts. There was still so much pain in him where Bucky Barnes was concerned. You'd worked for him in some capacity for nearly fifteen years and you'd never seen him as defeated as he'd been when he got off that Quinjet from Siberia. He'd been bloodied, battered and utterly broken, body and soul. Seeing him like that had shattered you, and you never wanted to live through something like that again.
Tony ran you through his experience with his therapeutic innovation, and you had to admit, it was impressive. The system had helped him realize that Bucky Barnes wasn't responsible for the heinous crimes Hydra had brainwashed him into completing, and so his anger over the death of his parents, while justified, had been misdirected.
"Once I processed that, it was a quick jump to realizing we can't be the best version of the Avengers if we only have half the team at home, and it's innocent people who would pay the price for it. So, when I reached out to Cap and he agreed to come back if I agreed to let him bring Barnes with him, well..." Tony trailed off, gesturing vaguely with his hand toward the where the rest of the team was waiting.
"So, you and Rogers are just, what? Good then? All water under the bridge?" you asked him, mild irritation clouding your voice.
"Oh, absolutely not." Tony took another sip of whiskey. "I can work with him again, and I'm glad to, but we're not going to be braiding each other's hair anytime soon."
"Good," you said, raising your glass in a mock toast to Tony. "I'm not quite ready to forgive him on your behalf just yet." Tony had essentially saved your life when you first met him, and he’d continued to support and guide your career to heights you could have never imagined. You'd started as a systems analyst and mechanical engineer at Stark Industries fresh out of college, and under Tony’s mentorship, it wasn’t long before you found yourself rising to the position of the company’s Chief Technical Officer, second in command only to Pepper, now that Tony had passed on the reins to her. All this happened long before he'd ever brought you in to work with him on the Avengers Initiative, and now you spent the majority of your time heading up their Technology and Innovation Department, as well.
Any kind of healthy respect you might have had for your boss had died out a long, long time ago, because Tony Stark was Tony Stark, but now he was just Tony-- more like an annoying older brother you loved dearly, whose name just happened to be on your paychecks. You owed him everything and that had earned him your unwavering loyalty. You'd follow him to hell and back again if he asked it of you, though he knew he’d never have to; you’d be paving the path there right alongside him.
The sound of laughter made its way across to you from the other side of the room and you felt warmth at the sound-- everyone, together again and happy. Just a few short months ago, you never would have been able to imagine the scene before you, not after the fight in Berlin and its brutal aftermath. You had thought for sure that this little family you'd found yourself in the middle of had been destroyed beyond repair.
So, you might have had your own reasons to be pissed at Steve Rogers.
"What's Barnes like?" you asked Tony. Having only ever glimpsed him from a distance, or from behind a computer monitor, you'd utilized all the resources at your disposal to dig up as much information on the Winter Soldier as possible, but even your skills hadn't been able to get you what simply didn't exist. "You know I don't like unknown quantities."
Tony seemed to think for a moment. "You mean, aside from being a brainwashed, murderous assassin?"
"Tony," you chastised. You knew that Barnes had spent a good deal of time in Wakanda before coming home to New York, working on having the words that triggered his homicidal alter-ego neutralized. Rogers may not always acted rationally when it came to making decisions about his oldest friend, but you were sure he wouldn’t be bringing Barnes back to the Tower if he posed a serious danger to the rest of you. Right?
"Fine," Tony said, with a typical exaggerated sigh. "Aside from being a former brainwashed, murderous assassin; better?" You rolled your eyes but nodded. "Don't really know, didn't care enough to ask. I'll be happy as long as he doesn't start murdering us all in our sleep. Cap vouches for him, so that counts for something. Maybe not as much as it did once upon a time, but something. But T’Challa seems to think he’s harmless enough now, so that’s good enough for me."
You nodded, taking another sip of your pineapple and Malibu, then leaned back, pensive. "Oh, God," you said after a moment of thought, sitting up in alarm. "You don't think it’s going to be like having an entire extra Rogers around, do you? All '40s morality and emotional repression? Because I am so over having him police my language." It wasn't that you had anything against Captain America as an Avenger, but there was only so much of the Boy Scout act you could take before you started getting nauseous. And okay, fine, you weren't too proud to admit it-- there was a not-so-small part of you that still hadn't forgiven him for what you saw as his blatant betrayal of Tony when he refused to sign the Accords. You'd promised to play nice, though, for the sake of your family, but your personal relationship with The Star-Spangled Man had taken heavy damage since Berlin.
Tony chuckled. "As if you'd ever let Cap's presence keep you from a good profanity. I should put out a swear jar. We could fund that crisis algorithm project of yours off your mouth alone."
"Fuck you, Tony," you uttered with a chuckle, fully aware that he had your number. You never met a four-letter word you didn’t fall immediately in love with.
"And look at that," Tony said with a smirk, "I just made another dollar. Hey FRIDAY, open up a new savings account and deposit a dollar into every time Pocket has a potty mouth."
"On it, Boss," the AI replied cheerfully.
You swore at Tony a few more times for good measure. "I fully intend to financially bleed you dry now, asshole."
"Oh no, I'm shaking in my custom Tom Ford's," Tony mockingly bemoaned, putting his feet, enclosed in the aforementioned ridiculously expensive loafers, up on the coffee table.
Raised voices from the other side of the room caught your attention. You stood up and craned your neck, trying to see what had caused the commotion. "I think they're here, Boss," you said.
"Alright," Tony said, standing up and putting an arm around your shoulder, "big smiles, kiddo. Remember, we're supposed to be happy about this." You suppressed a chuckle as you watched Rogers present Bucky Barnes to the rest of the team. Everyone was welcoming; you wouldn’t have expected any less, but as you watched their body language, the only word that came to mind was guarded. And you completely understood; The Winter Soldier’s reputation had preceded him, after all. There were hugs for Rogers, of course, but no one made any attempt to reach out to his friend.
Despite your overall annoyance with Rogers, you couldn't help but feel some degree of happiness for the giant oaf. When you'd been assigned on a mission with him (which happened fairly frequently, as he was so pathetically abysmal with anything having to do with technology) and ended up having to hole up in a safehouse for an extra couple of days while waiting for extraction, he'd started opening up to you about James Buchanan Barnes, and the reminiscing had made him so happy, you encouraged Steve to tell you everything about this Bucky. After that, the trouble was getting Rogers to stop telling his Bucky stories. If he wasn't sharing tales about growing up with his best friend during the Great Depression and all the absolute mischief they got into, he was sharing war stories of their time together with the Howling Commandos. He'd even shared his grief with you– how painful it had been to watch Barnes fall from that train and the guilt he carried for not being able to save him. He’d confessed to you once that, when he went into the ice, fully prepared to die, there was a part of him that was relieved to be reunited with Barnes in the next life, and waking up some 70 years later to a world where he was still alive but Bucky was still gone had broken his heart all over again. And yet, here they were– together in the next life, after all. If you were a different kind of person, you’d say it was a goddamn miracle.
Because of the way Rogers described his best friend in those old stories, you were expecting Bucky Barnes to come swaggering along next to him, with a cocksure tilt to his head and a panty-dropping smirk playing along his lips, but the man who accompanied Steve was the furthest thing from that.
He shuffled behind Rogers slowly, looking at the floor and avoiding making eye contact with anyone else from the team. His hair hung long and limp, curtaining off his face as though it were a protective barrier. Though, if it was keeping him away from everyone else, or everyone else away from him, you couldn't be sure. He was much thinner than you'd anticipated, especially for a super soldier– though still extremely muscular, giving you the impression that it had been a long time since he'd let himself indulge in anything more than the bare minimum amount of calories he needed for survival. Tilting your head, you tried to steal a glance at his infamous metal arm, the thing of legends that had turned him from a run-of-the-mill assassin into the stuff of waking nightmares.
But the sleeve of his jacket hung limp, only empty space where the appendage should have been.
Curious. He'd come to Tony Stark's home unarmed. Your hand flew to your mouth to try and stop the uncontrollable snicker that broke loose at your own stupid joke. Tony elbowed you gently in the ribs to shut you up, and you hoped you were too far away and the others too distracted by Steve's introductions to notice you, but that thought flew right out the window when Bucky Barnes' head snapped up at the sound, his eyes locking onto yours from across the room.
"Holy shit," you breathed, knowing another dollar would go into Tony's digital swear jar, but damn if the man didn't have the most striking blue eyes you had ever seen. There were dark circles under them, and he looked incredibly tired, yeah, but they were beautiful. You didn't mean to stare, but you found you couldn't look away, either, and so the two of you were locked into some sort of impromptu staring contest. The longer you looked at him, the more you could sense an overwhelming sadness coming from him, as well as a level of wariness at being in a room full of strangers. It was almost overwhelming.
But then, just as suddenly as it began, the spell was broken. Blinking once, Bucky looked away and you felt the tension vanish from between you.
"What was that about?" Tony asked you in a low singsong voice.
"I have no idea," you answered, honestly. There had been so much pain and loneliness in his eyes. You'd seen eyes like that before, when you were younger and looked at your own reflection in the mirror following a scalding shower with your skin scrubbed raw and bloody. You suppressed a shiver.
Finally, Steve managed to disengage himself and Bucky from the other Avengers and began making his way toward you and Tony. Up close, you were struck by how tall Bucky was. He had to be at least a foot taller than you, if not more. And God, he was handsome. Granted, in a kind of heroin-chic sort of way, but still. A couple of good nights' sleep, a few good meals, some light personal grooming, and... well, there was a very good chance you were going to be in trouble once he got his shit together, that was for sure.
"And Buck," Steve was saying, drawing you out of your ogling, "This is our resident computer genius, Pocket (Y/L/N). You ever need help with anything technology-related, she's your girl."
"A bit of an over-simplified version, Rogers," you said, sticking your hand out to shake Bucky’s, "but yeah, that about covers it."
Bucky looked at you, then down at your hand, making no move to take it.
"What the hell kind of name is Pocket?" he asked, voice rough as though he hadn’t been using it a lot. Pulling your hand back, you shot him an annoyed glare.
"I don't know," you oozed back sarcastically. "What the hell kind of name is Bucky?"
"It's his nickname, Pocket," Steve supplied helpfully, though not without a trace of confusion. You gave him an annoyed, pointed look.
"No shit, Rogers." You turned back to Bucky and spoke slowly, as if to a child. "So, what do you think Pocket is, then?"
"Oh," said Bucky, catching on. The corners of his mouth turned up ever so slightly. "Gotcha; m'sorry about that. My manners are rusty from a severe lack of use."
You didn't mean it, but your mouth curved up into a hint of a smile, too. And then, almost as if you couldn't stop yourself from doing it, you found yourself saying "I see you've arrived unarmed."
There was a long, heavy beat of silence as Steve and Tony stared at you, mouths slightly agape, and you wondered if you'd made a critical error. You were just about to punch yourself in the face and claim you had a concussion and therefore couldn't be held responsible for what you said when Bucky burst into laughter.
It was the most beautiful sound you'd ever heard, and it was contagious. Through your own laughter, you risked a glance up at Steve. He was looking back and forth between you and Bucky, an indiscernible look in his eyes, and you couldn't help but wonder how long it had been since he'd heard his best friend laugh. Hell, you wondered how long it had been since Bucky Barnes had laughed at all.
"Pocket," Tony groaned, palming his face, "that was truly terrible, even for you."
"I'm sorry," you said, trying to catch your breath through your burst of giggles. "It just slipped out-- I couldn’t help it. You know once these things come into my head, they just bounce around in there until they fall out. I didn't mean it."
Steve smiled at you. "So that's what you were snickering at," he said, amused. Damn that enhanced super soldier hearing. Rogers didn't need to be so nosy with it.
You shrugged. "What can I say? Bad jokes are my superpower. Don't be jealous that all you got was super strength and a six pack, Rogers."
Bucky laughed again, then nudged Steve playfully with his elbow. "I like this one, Stevie," he said. "She's funny."
You weren't sure why, exactly, but something in Bucky's words turned your insides into a warm puddle of goo.
Oh, you were going to be in trouble, indeed.

I NEED TO YAP ABOUT THIS MOVIE MY GOD-
YOU'RE NEXT SPOILERS UNDER CUT
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaokayokay-
Can I just say I DO NOT recommend seeing this the same day as watching the new episode because I have had a DAY-
Unfortunately, the theater I went to didn't have the booklets or promotional cups but not a huge loss. It's the price I pay to have my boyfriend by my side; worth it. ♡
As with all my other MHA theater outings the screening was packed with delightful weirdos (dubbed, if you happen to care). One guy had an extensive set of custom MHA lego guys (very cool) and two very enthusiastic Toga cosplayers were so kind and kept me from feeling like a dork going out in public in a Deku wig. All the love to them, fr.
The movie itself though ohhhhh MY~
If I'm being honest this one didn't surpass World Heroes Mission or Heroes Rising for me, but also I don't know what you could do to beat out the movies that gave me such extreme brainrot it got me to be a part of this fandom in the first place. Personal rankings for the movies, best to "worst" is 3, 2, 4, 1.
Maybe it's because I had higher expectations instead of being given the best character in the franchise suddenly with no warning but I did still really REALLY love it. The highest point I can give it is easily the animation. Absolutely zero scenes in this movie feel like they fell to the standard of the anime. Everything was fluid and detailed and so fun to look at. And yes, of course it made every attack flashy as fuck. I was giddy every time Bakugou let out an explosion.
The premise did sound insane going in, and it is, but it's an anime side movie. Caring about the plot is a bonus, not a requirement. I guess my only real gripe is that it felt a little too fast? Very few scenes had time to breathe and unlike the other movies there wasn't really any slow establishing opening. If you come to MHA exclusively for the action, I think this one will be your new favorite.
Okay- I'm gonna just bullet point my highlights because I'm barely restrained enough to sit down and type.
First of all GIULIO!!!
Listen- I knew I would love this guy but oh my god babygirl~
He responds to literally everyone approaching him by pointing a gun at them. No comment this is just great
When Deku tells him to stop shooting at someone, he just pulls out a SECOND GUN and points it at him too
His motorcycle also has guns. Ngl I have expected his eye implant to also have a gun for a moment there.
He is SUCH an asshole to Deku in the first half and I love it. Their dialogue exchanges were so funny.
And in the second half he just,,,,cracks under the pressure so hard,, Man is having the WORST day of his life fr. It's really nice to know he and Anna are safe at UA rn. Poor things deserve it.
Anna and Giulio are really cute romantically, Giulio is definitely adult but he's going in the Deku harem anyway. You can't stop me, I am capable of worse.
Anna herself unfortunately doesn't get much time since she spends most of the movie mind controlled but she's harmlessly sweet and adorable. Anna they could never make me hate you.
I want to smear Dark Might across the side of a wall and given how much they overanimated his expressions, I believe this is the intended effect.
Am I the only one that hopes he sees the Mech Might livestream just to rub salt in the wound? Don't you dare let All Might's name fall from your mouth again, you bag of scum.
I really REALLY wanted Izuku to get pissed off and start naming off inconsistencies between how All Might and Dark Might look: "His eyes are SKY blue, not ocean blue, and while his broad features don't make it obvious, his chin was actually much slimmer, also you got the silver age colors wrong-!" alas... you know he was thinking it though-
Big tiddy mind control gf Deborah my beloved- she has pretty privileges for everything
Actually a lot of the lesser goons of the family were kind of dorky and odd. I loved the energy! Why was one of them literally a D&D nerd that put on a wizard robe OVER HIS SUIT. Most entertaining movie villian group for sure.
The personal dreams everyone had under the mind control? Kill me. Kill me right the fuck now!
Shoto literally just wants a happy childhood with his family??? Where Touya wants to play with him????? And Rei was still happy????? UUGAHWAAAAAAAA
Tenya and Tensei being heroes together STOP-
Shoji with the little girl he saaaaaaved,,,and he didn't have his face scars anymoooooore,,,
So glad they didn't show Ochako's because you know they would have just animated that what if pixel animation of her and Toga being childhood friends and I would have vomited in sorrow.
Absolutely infuriating they broke continuity to have Katsuki call Izuku "Deku" and not "De-Izuku". Never forget what they took from us.
"Beat it, cool side character!" is the best line in the movie. Katsuki does not forget what happened with Rody and he does NOT forgive.
Followed closely by "I'm falling down crotch-first!" And you wonder why I write the fics I do about you, Deku-
Deku being a legend as a jailbreaker hunter is so amazing?? Yes baby, they're so scared of you! You're doing amazing sweetie!
I might think of more but tldr: YOU'RE NEXT IS A REALLY FUN TIME AND YOU SHOULD WATCH IT!

"BAKU-CHAN!"〃
Katsuki x fem!reader
Part 1/?
A bit ooc? Some angst but mostly fluff,, I think most of us need it right now
Notes; not proof read, perchance a bit self indulgent...
"Who are you?"
Those were words Katsuki Bakugou thought he would never hear. Nonetheless, from a girl hogging up the swings!
"I-I told you yesterday! Do you have short-term memory or something!?"
"That's a long name..."
"You idiot! My name is Katsuki Bakugou, and you better remember it this time! When I'm number one, you'll have no choice!" The boy whose name you had forgotten spoke with such pride and confidence it made you feel a little small. How can someone so little have such big goals?
You wanted to be a hero, too. You were always told your quirk wasn't suited for it, though. But still, you had some hope, and you'd settle for being in the top 100s! Anything at all, really. But this boy was yammering on about being at the total top.
"Kaachan!" A smaller voice interrupted your train of thought and the blonde before you groaned. "Ignore him, he's not gonna be anything!" He said confidently which made the other boy falter slightly.
"Why?" You blinked.
"Hah? Are you new here or something?"
"Yeah. Why?"
"He's quirkless, that's why!" The boy huffed, taking another step towards the sandbox. "Now, move over, idiot!"
You narrow your eyes in thought, trying to recall what just happened. You weren't all that interested until he brought up heroes.
"It's okay. I'm not scared of cooties anymore cause my mama said they aren't real. We can play together, Baku-chan."
Katsuki's eye twitched as he watched you scoot over in the sandbox and look up at him expectantly.
"W-What!?"
"Cooties aren't real–"
"No! What did you call me!?" He interrupted.
"Baku-chan."
"That's not my name! Kat-su-ki Ba-ku-gou!" He exclaimed, speaking slowly as if teaching a newborn how to said their first word. Except you just stared up at him with those big eyes.
"But he called you Kaachan." You deadpanned, pointing to the greenette behind him who flinched.
"But he's a loser and doesn't matter!"
"Sorry, Baku-chan."
(҂` ロ ´) ... ( ՞ -՞ )
You got on Katsuki's last, first, and fifth nerve. Like Deku, you followed him around like a damn dog. Scratch that—a koala. Wherever he was, you were behind him and clinging onto his shirt.
It took you three weeks to remember his actual name.
While all the girls avoided the boys, him especially, it seemed like you were glued to him the second your eyes met.
Which is why he can't have you following that damn Deku around, too! You were his fan, after all!
"Baku-chan? Where are we going?"
"Somewhere Deku is too scared to go." Katsuki replied with a grumble, tightening his grip on your hand. Since Deku followed him around all the time, his loserness was rubbing off on you!
Translation; you and Deku were becoming friends.
Sitting on a log, Katsuki finally let go of your hand. You looked around for the first time before looking back down at him and taking a seat next to him. "Back up, would you?" Katsuki grumbled, scooting over.
Of course, you immediately scooted right back to his side. "Baku-chan," you spoke up. "How come you don't like Deku?"
The boy scoffed. "Isn't it obvious? He's a quirkless nobody!"
"Well, yeah. But you don't have to be mean about it."
"Huh? Why not!? Someone has to put him in place!"
"....someone needs to put you in your place..." you muttered, but Katsuki heard you. He felt his eye twitch.
"Haaaah!? You wanna die!? You're lucky I'm letting you be my sidekick! You know how many losers wanna be my sidekick!?" He exclaimed, sparks crackling explosions to life in his palms.
"No, I dont."
"Well, there's tons! And you're lucky, damnit!"
"Sure I am..."
( 〃 ..) .... ヽ(`▽´)ノ
You were awkward. Like a wet paper bag.
That's what Katsuki says, anyway.
"Baku-chan, I don't get it still." You frown, staring down at the homework. Despite being held hostage by an villian, Katsuki was determined to say it meant nothing and Tutor you. Though, he was too distracted to teach properly—more distracted than you.
He was sure if your skull cracked open and he looked inside, there would be nothing but clouds and that sweet pudding junk you ate all the time.
By the time you had came onto the scene, Katsuki didn't know if he should be mad or relieved.
You tried dragging Deku away (which wasn't particularly hard considering you were only a bit taller than him.)
Still, the fact you ran in pissed him off. He wasn't sure why.
"Shut it, Koko."
"Koko?"
"I can't get rid of you." The boy deadpanned before groaning. "That's enough, not my fault you're dumb as a rock. Can't have my sidekick stupid, though... so come back tomorrow so you don't fail on me." Katsuki grumbled, avoiding eye contact with you. You frowned slightly before beginning to pack up your things.
"(Name)? You're leaving so early?"
Katsuki's mother, Mitsuki You met her when Katsuki hit you for calling him Baku-chan infront of the middle schoolers. She hit him way harder.
Katsuki was convinced she loved you more than him.
"Oh, yeah." You nodded. "Baku-chan," you turned to Katsuki as you stood up.
"I'm walking with Deku tomorrow."
While Mitsuki smiled at the mention of the boy and began to ramble a bit, Katsuki froze. You smiled, waving them goodbye and walked home.
The next day, Katsuki avoided you.
And the day after that, and the day after that.
Soon enough, you found yourself alone with Deku.
You weren't mean to him, but it was clear you thought he was completely delusional for wanting to be a hero.
When your mom had found out Deku lived nearby, she practically demanded that you walk with him to school. She can't have her baby traveling so far to walk with a delinquent every day when there's a sweet normal boy in the next complex!
And so she unknowingly crushed your friendship with Katsuki.
"Baku-chan."
"Baku-chan?"
"Baku-chan!"
"Baku-chaaaannn!!!"
Katsuki hasn't felt his eye twitch so much.
Every damn day of summer, you knocked on his door.
You found yourself alone more than ever.
Deku suddenly had a busy schedule, and most of your friends just teased you the whole time you hung out.
Katsuki was bitter. It's always Deku. Deku, who has everything he doesn't despite being a nobody. Katsuki couldn't understand it.
Soon enough, summer went by, and you and Katsuki were still not on talking terms. Anytime he came home to you talking with Mitsuki in the living room (she heard you shouting for him and let you in), he would walk to his room without a second glance.
"(Name)? You've been frowning a lot recently." Deku spoke up with a worried frown of his own. "Are you worried about the exams?"
"No. I'm okay, Izuku. I don't care that much about that stuff–"
Deku shut down, sputtering as he stared at you with his mouth agape. You called him Izuku.
"A-Are you sure you're okay!?"
"I just said I was. Are you okay?"
"I'm okay!" He nodded quickly.
"Baku-chan is mad at me. And im not sure why." You mumbled after some silence, staring at the waters of the beach. It's been much cleaner lately. Deku snapped out of his shock, frowning again as you spoke.
"Well... it started when you started talking to me again. A-And we became friends...–"
"Huh. I thought we were always friends?" You deadpanned, looking over to him. He frantically waved his hands around, trying to explain himself, but you subconsciously tuned him out. He paused, sweating nearvously. The way you were looking at him made it seem like you were mad at him, but in reality you were in the clouds again, trying to clear them up as the cogs started turning.
.
.
.
"I dont get it."
And that was all you said for the rest of the night.
You never called him Izuku after that.
(。 ˊᯅˋ ) ... (҂` - ´)
You ended up the general studies. Not surprising, but at least you were smart enough to get in.
You had a heart attack every time Deku texted you about a villain attack. Naturally, the two of you grew close. That only fueled Katsuki's hatred for the freckled boy.
Katsuki couldn't stand it at first—being able to walk into school. Without you. It felt weird. He'd look behind his back to look for that little tug of yours, but there was nothing there. He thought about replying to your texts, your bugging, your loud ass yelling. He'd probably just yell and slam the door anyway.
It felt like it had been forever since he'd seen you.
So, during a break in the sports festival, seeing you assaulting a vending machine wasn't exactly what he was expecting. Mumbling curses as you grabbed the machine by its sides, shutting your eyes and shaking it roughly. You were trying to get that sweet ass pudding junk.
Before he thought about it, he approached and shoved you to the side. You blinked, looking over to him as he set off a few explosions and grabbed the small cup of pudding. There was a long silence as he shoved the cup in front of your chest.
.
.
.
"...who are you?"
You cheeky bastard.
Katsuki felt that familiar irritation bubble up. He knew you were just messing with him... atleast he hoped so.
"Take your sugary shit. Maybe if you cut down on this junk, you could have made it into the hero course. I knew you were below me, but this is just sad." He scoffed.
You didn't argue, taking the cup with a smile. "Okay."
"Okay? Is that how you thank people?"
"No. Just you—you ignored me so I'm not thankful." ((.❛ ᴗ ❛.))
Katsuki's eye twitched again as he clenched his fist. "Well im not ignoring you now, am I!?"
"Well... not now."

For the past three years, your life took unexpected twists, one after one. You didn't know back then how impactful a police officer doing his job would be to your life. You never expected to fall for the all-so-serious officer, whose indignation spoke volumes in the presence of firefighters.
Tim had only one opinion about the other branch of first responders — reckless, not so sharp, and definitely idiots, but they mean well. That was before meeting you.
After a massive earthquake hit LA, the chaos that followed can't be described. People running around looking for the close ones, screaming, and a lot of pain. LAPD was sent on the streets to maintain order while LAFD rushed to rescue everyone in need. They were hand in hand and, for the first time in his life, Tim was following the orders of a firefighter— you.
He complained at first, but when he understood you were more than a reckless woman, he obeyed. Back then, Tim saw in you a seriousness that made him eat his words. The way you pushed yourself aside for the safety of the civilians, the way you disobeyed the book in a risky situation, questioning everything you knew for the people. You allowed him to help, and he was there by your side the whole time, mesmerised by the way you gave everything you had, pushed away any fear and doubts and crawled into wrecked precincts to save every single one of them.
There was a huge difference between the two branches of first responders. LAPD was trained to save the law, maintain order, protect the vulnerable and punish the guilty, while LAFD was trained to protect and save regarding the guilty and they've seen unimaginable things, making them aware the life is short and you need to cherish it every second.
And when you showed him that ugly side of your job, Tim never saw you the same again. Drawn by your determination and dedication to save every soul and by your love and beauty you carried around, he fell for you, hard.
But he never accepted the real dangers of your job. Actually, he never accepted that your dedication was so profound, that you'd give your life to save another without second thoughts. He couldn't bare the thought of losing you some day due to your 'dedication'.
You’re both standing in the middle of the living room, the air thick with tension that’s been building for weeks. Tonight’s argument was inevitable, ignited by the underlying fear and frustration that’s been simmering beneath the surface.
Tim’s heart pounds in his chest as he looks at you, his concern turning into frustration. He knows that firefighting is dangerous, but seeing you take unnecessary risks feels like a constant weight on his shoulders.
“Damn it, Y/N!” he exclaims, his voice loud and filled with anger. “You can’t keep ignoring orders and putting yourself in danger! You’re a firefighter, not a one-woman hero team!”
You clench your fists, feeling defensive, his words sounding like an accusation. “I know what I’m doing, Tim. Sometimes you have to take risks to save lives.”
“Fire isn’t something predictable,” Tim interjects, his voice firm. “When you're dealing with an armed suspect, you can see the next move in his eyes. But with fire? It's nothing like that and, when it happens, it's probably too late."
His words cut deep, and tears fill your eyes as you try to make him understand. You feel misunderstood, judged, and it hurts.
“Predictable or not, I trust my instincts,” you shoot back, your voice shaking. “Sometimes you have to go with your gut, Tim, not just follow orders blindly.”
"But at what cost?” Tim retorts, his face flushed with frustration. “How many times do we have to argue about this before you realize that you’re not invincible?”
Your eyes fill with tears, the weight of his words hitting you hard. “I’m not saying I’m invincible,” you reply, tears streaming down your face. “I just believe in doing whatever it takes to save lives, even if it means bending the rules sometimes.”
“Bending the rules?” Tim’s voice cracks, hurt evident in his expression. “Y/N, this isn’t a game. Lives are at stake, including yours!”
You’re openly crying now, the tears blurring your vision as you try to make him understand. “I need you to trust me, Tim. Trust that I know what I’m doing.”
“I need to be able to trust that you’ll come home safely,” Tim says, his voice softer now, filled with genuine concern. “I can’t keep worrying every time you’re on shift, wondering if you’re going to make it home in one piece.”
"But this is who I am, Tim. I can’t change that.”
Tim’s thoughts swirl with a mix of love, fear, and frustration as he watches you, torn between wanting to protect you and knowing he can’t control your choices. “I need some time to think,” he finally says, his voice filled with resignation.
Without another word, you grab your bag and head for the door, leaving Tim standing alone in the living room, his face a mask of regret and worry. As you make your way to Lucy’s apartment, the weight of the argument pressing down on you, you can’t shake the feeling that something has changed between you and Tim, something that might be impossible to repair.
You stand before Lucy’s door, eyes red-rimmed and cheeks streaked with tears. With a shaky breath, you knock softly as your heart is pounding in your chest. The door swings open to reveal Lucy’s shocked face, her eyes widening at your disheveled appearance.
“Y/N? What the hell happened?” Lucy’s voice is filled with concern as she wraps you in a comforting embrace, feeling the tension in your body.
Tamara rushes in, eyes wide with worry. "Are you okay?”
As Lucy's comforting embrace envelops you, a mixture of relief and despair washes over you. You lean into her warmth, grateful for the solace she provides amidst the chaos of your emotions. Tamara's worried expression only adds to the weight of the situation, highlighting the gravity of the rift between you and Tim.
"I’m so sorry,” you stammer, tears threatening anew. “I didn’t know where else to go. I can't go to Buck like this and –"”
Lucy steps back, creating space for you to enter, "You're always welcome here, Y/N. You know that."
Lucy leads you to the couch and wraps her arm around your shoulders as you found a small measure of comfort in her presence. The unspoken understanding between you eases some of the ache in your heart, reminding you that you're not alone in this struggle.
Tamara places a comforting hand on your knee, her eyes filled with empathy as Lucy spoke, “Come on, tell us what happened."
You take a shaky breath, trying to steady your voice as you recount the intense argument with Tim. “We had a fight, a really bad one. He said he needed some time to think.”
Your love for Tim is boundless, a deep-rooted connection that fills your heart with warmth and joy. Every moment spent with him is a treasure, each shared smile and whispered promise a testament to the depth of your affection. And being so far from him, it was a nightmare. Leaving so abruptly, both of your anger and frustration bottled inside, this tore you apart.
Tamara’s eyes narrow, her tone incredulous. “Tim said that? What could possibly have happened?”
“He thinks I’m reckless, that I put myself and my team in danger,” you explain, the sting of his words still fresh in your mind.
The pain of your fight weighs heavily on your soul, a sharp ache that refuses to fade. His words cut deep, leaving you reeling with a sense of loss and betrayal. The thought of losing him, of facing a future without his love, is almost unbearable.
Lucy shakes her head, her eyes filled with empathy. “Tim’s always been by-the-book. He values rules and order. But being a firefighter isn’t always black and white.”
You nod, wiping away tears with the back of your hand. “Exactly. But he just won't listen.”
Lucy sighs, her eyes softening with understanding. “Tim loves you. He’s just scared. Scared of losing you.” She can see the pain in your eyes, the uncertainty about the future of your relationship.
“I know,” you sniffle, trying to hold back the tears. “But it’s not just about him being scared. It’s about understanding who I am and what I do.”
Tamara nods, her expression thoughtful. “Sometimes love isn’t enough, Y/N. Sometimes two people can love each other deeply but still be incompatible in some ways.”
“I don’t want to lose him,” you say, feeling the weight of her words. “But I also don’t want to lose myself.” You grapple with the conflicting emotions, torn between love and self-respect.
Lucy chuckles softly, trying to lighten the mood. She stands up, heading to the kitchen to prepare some tea. “You won't lose him. He’s stubborn as hell, but he loves you. You know that."
Tamara smirks, leaning back on the couch. “Well, men are from Mars, right? We’ll never fully understand them.”
Lucy laughs, raising her hands in mock surrender. “True that. But hey, if anyone can knock some sense into Tim, it’s you, Y/N.”
Tamara smirks, her eyes twinkling with mischief as she leans back on the couch. “You know, Y/N, I like you more and more. Just so you know, everything you’ve said tonight will be used against Tim tomorrow.” She winks playfully, a mischievous grin spreading across her face. “Lucy’s going to make his shift a living hell.”
Lucy chuckles, her eyes dancing with amusement. “Oh, you bet I will. He won’t know what hit him.” She laughs, the tension in the room further dissipating with their playful banter.
You can’t help but laugh along with them, grateful for the light-hearted moment amidst the emotional chaos. “Just promise me you’ll go easy on him. He’s still my guy, after all.”
Yet, even in the midst of your despair, your love for him remains steadfast. It is a beacon of hope in the darkness, a guiding light that keeps you tethered to him, even when the distance between you feels insurmountable.
Tamara raises an eyebrow, her grin widening. “No promises,” Lucy says with a playful shrug.
You shake your head, chuckling at their antics. “Alright, alright. Just remember, I’ll have to deal with him after you two are done.”
After a moment of silence, Tamara's face brightens, an idea forming. “You know what we need? A girls’ night. We could all use a little distraction, right?”
Lucy grins, nodding in agreement. “Absolutely. Some wine, some movies, and some girl talk. It’s just what the doctor ordered.”
You smile weakly, grateful for their support. “That sounds nice.”
Meanwhile, across town, Tim and Buck find themselves in the comfort of Tim's living room. With beers in hand and the soft glow of the TV providing background noise, both men seem to have left the weight of the day behind them, engrossed in their own world of laughter and banter.
But Tim's thoughts are consumed by the image of you, tears staining your cheeks as you walked out the door. Each memory of your tearful departure cuts him deeply, a sharp pang of guilt and sorrow gnawing at his heart.
Buck takes a swig of his beer, glancing over at him with a curious expression. “So, how did the fight go?”
Tim sighs, running a hand through his hair. "I think I overstepped a little. She was crying and she left. It broke me to see her like that and let her go."
Seeing you hurt because of him breaks him in ways he never imagined. He would give anything to erase the hurt he's caused, to mend the fractures in your relationship. But he knows that sometimes love requires sacrifice, even if it means bearing the weight of your pain.
Buck nods understandingly, setting his beer down on the coffee table. "It's all part of the plan, Tim. We knew it would be tough, but it's for the best." He tries to reassure Tim, understanding the struggle his friend is going through.
Tim looks at Buck, gratitude in his eyes. "I know, I know. It's just hard, you know? Seeing her hurt and knowing I'm the cause of it, even if it's for a good reason."
Buck places a comforting hand on Tim's shoulder. "At least this will buy us some time. Where's she now?"
Tim smiles slightly, the tension easing from his shoulders. "At Lucy's. She texted me when Y/N got there. She'll be crashing on Lucy's couch."
Buck chuckles, picking up his beer again. "Good, at least she's safe. Lucy will take care of her. She always does."
Tim nods, a grateful smile tugging at his lips. "Yeah, Lucy's been great. I'm glad she's there for Y/N."
The two men sit in companionable silence for a moment, the weight of their secret plan hanging in the air between them. It's a plan born out of love and a desire to create the perfect proposal for you, but it comes with its own set of challenges and emotions.
Buck's voice is filled with excitement. "You know, once all of this is over, and you've proposed, it's going to be amazing. Y/N is going to be over the moon."
Tim smiles, the vision of his future with you filling his mind. "I know, Buck. I can't wait to make her my wife."
Amidst the pain, there's a profound love that anchors him, a love so deep it eclipses the darkness of your current strife. You're more than just his partner; you're his rock, his solace, his reason for waking up each day with a smile. Your laughter brightens his darkest moments, your touch soothes his weary soul, and your presence fills his life with a sense of purpose and joy he never thought possible.
The two men raise their beers in a toast, their smiles reflecting the hope and love that fills their hearts.
Tim glances over at Lucy, his voice filled with concern. "How's Y/N holding up? I haven't heard from her since that night."
He can't shake the self-loathing that grips him, the regret for letting things escalate to this point.
Lucy raises an eyebrow, a playful smirk on her lips. "A bit pissed at you, but she's safe."
"I hate myself for that. I really don't like this whole...situation. Especially letting her go and forcing her to sleep on your couch."
He never wanted to hurt you, never intended for things to unravel like this. And the idea of you sleeping on Lucy's couch, away from him, fills him with a sense of emptiness he can't bear.
She chuckles softly, her tone teasing. "You could've called, you know. Women like that kind of thing."
Tim lets out a sigh, a sheepish smile tugging at his lips. "Yeah, I figured as much. I just thought... well, some space might be good."
Lucy's teasing only adds to his discomfort, her playful jabs hitting a little too close to home. He knows he should have done a lot of things, but fear and uncertainty held him back, clouding his judgment with doubt.
Lucy raises an eyebrow, “Space, huh? Sounds like a classic Bradford move. But you might want to pick up the phone. Y/N deserves to know you’re not pushing her away.”
Tim chuckles, shaking his head. "Trust me, I plan to. I just needed some time to... you know, plan everything out, to get it right."
Lucy grins, her eyes twinkling with mischief. "But you better make this worth it, you hear me?" She nudges him playfully. "And soon. She might love you and might be willing to wait for you, but don't test her patience."
Tim smiles, gratitude evident in his gaze. "I will, Lucy. And thanks, for everything."
Lucy waves him off with a chuckle. "Don't mention it. Just remember to thank me after she says yes." She winks at him, her smile warm and supportive.
You've been camping on the girls' couch for the past three days. It wasn't all that bad; some time off work was just what you needed, and your fight with Tim allowed you to sort through some old stuff.
When you were about to drift off to sleep again, Lucy burst into the living room. "Alright, couch potato, time to get up!”
You groaned, pulling a pillow over your face. “Five more minutes, Lucy.”
With a chuckle, Lucy yanked the pillow away and extended her hand. “Come on, Y/N. It’s time to get some fresh air. You can’t stay on my couch forever.”
Reluctantly, you accepted Lucy’s help to sit up. “What happened to ‘you’re always welcome here’? My free stay at Hotel Lucy is over?”
Lucy laughed. “Exactly. It’s check-out time, Missy.”
You smirked, slipping on your sneakers. "Well, send the bill to Bradford; he's the only one at fault for this."
With her keys in hand, Lucy grinned. “How about a ride along? A little patrol action might be good for you.”
Raising an eyebrow teasingly, you countered, “Trying to get rid of me, Lucy?”
She chuckled. “Just trying to help you get some fresh air. And maybe a little distraction.”
As you reluctantly rose from the comfort of Lucy's couch, a whirlwind of emotions churned within you. The past few days had been a rollercoaster of hurt, confusion, and a desperate longing to mend things with Tim. But amidst the chaos, there was a glimmer of hope – hope that today could mark the beginning of reconciliation, of healing the wounds that had torn you apart.
“Alright, alright. But only because I’m craving some fresh, questionable coffee from the station.”
“Deal. But you’re buying the donuts!” Lucy teased.
“Deal. But only if they have sprinkles.”
Suddenly, Lucy stopped and appraised you, shaking her head. “Oh no, no. You can’t possibly leave the house like that. Off to the shower with you, you’re starting to smell like my couch.”
Stepping into the shower, the warm water washing away the remnants of doubt and insecurity as you made a silent vow to yourself. Today would be the beginning of a new chapter for you both, a chance to rebuild what had been broken and to forge a stronger, more resilient bond.
You returned to find some of your clothes laid out on the couch, courtesy of Lucy and Tamara. Raising an eyebrow, you turned to Lucy. “Don’t you think that’s a little bit extra?”
It wasn't exactly what you'd wear for patrolling, but considering Tim probably handed them to Lucy, you couldn't really complain.
Just then, Tamara emerged from her bedroom with a smirk. “You should be thankful I didn’t pick the outfit.”
You chuckled, wondering why she wasn’t at school. “Fair enough. Shouldn’t you be at school by now?”
Tamara waved it off, pulling out her makeup kit. “I’ll miss the first period to do your makeup. You owe me.”
Sighing, you looked between Lucy and Tamara. “Come on, girls. It’s just a day of patrolling. Nothing special.”
Lucy shook her head, her eyes serious. “No, hun. Today you’ll be right next to Tim. Breathing in his neck. You need to show him what he’s missing.”
The engine's soft hum reverberates through the car as Tim navigates the streets, the tension inside as thick as the fog rolling in from the bay. Lucy rides shotgun, her mischievous glances back at you adding to the palpable unease. Seated in the back, you stare out the window, attempting to distract yourself with the passing scenery, anything to escape the suffocating silence.
Lucy's voice cuts through the tension like a knife, her cheeriness a stark contrast to the heavy atmosphere. "Hey, Bradford," she chirps. "How about we make a quick stop for some coffee and donuts? My treat."
Tim's eyes flicker to the rearview mirror, briefly meeting yours before he nods. "Sure, sounds good."
Pulling into a local coffee shop's parking lot, Lucy practically leaps out of the car, leaving you and Tim alone for a fleeting moment.
"You could've called," you murmur softly, finally breaking the suffocating silence. "Three days, Tim."
Tim's grip tightens on the steering wheel, his knuckles turning white. "I know, Y/N. I'm sorry. It's... it's complicated."
Before you can delve deeper, Lucy returns with a tray laden with coffee and a box of donuts. She hands you a cup before settling into her seat, her eyes glinting with an inscrutable knowingness.
As Tim lifts his coffee to his lips, you notice the slight tremble in his hand. "Everything okay, Tim?" Lucy inquires, her innocence a thin veil over her ulterior motives.
Tim clears his throat, averting his gaze. "Yeah, just a bit tired, I guess."
Lucy's smirk is unmistakable as she reaches for a donut. "Well, these should help with that."
Taking a sip of your coffee, you feel its warmth spreading through you, but it does little to dispel the tension in the air. However, there's a shift—a subtle change in the atmosphere. The silence is no longer suffocating; instead, it's pregnant with anticipation, each breath heavy with unspoken words.
Finally, Tim speaks, his voice laced with vulnerability. "Y/N, about the fight... I never meant to hurt you. I just needed some time to sort things out."
You meet his gaze, the sincerity in his eyes tugging at something deep within you. There's a weight to his words, a heaviness that speaks volumes about the distress he's been wrestling with.
As the shop continues its journey, the tension remains, but it's tempered now by a sense of curiosity and cautious hope. Unbeknownst to you, Tim's anxiety isn't solely about your relationship, and Lucy's scheming grin betrays her satisfaction with how her plan is unfolding.
Throughout the day, Tim's behavior had been perplexing, he carefully avoided any calls that hinted at danger. It felt as though he was intentionally shielding you from harm, a protective barrier wrapped around you even as you yearned for the adrenaline rush of the job.
But the tranquility of the day shattered with Nolan's urgent call for backup. The gravity of the situation hit you like a sledgehammer, sending a jolt of adrenaline coursing through your veins.
“Dispatch, this is Officer Nolan, requesting backup at my location. Officers under fire, need immediate assistance,” Nolan’s voice is clear and urgent.
Without hesitation, Tim accepts the call, urgency in his voice for the first time that day. “Roger that, Nolan. We’re en route.”
Tim accelerates towards the scene, the Griffith Observatory coming into view. The iconic building stands majestically atop the hill, its silhouette against the clear blue sky adding a surreal beauty to the unfolding situation.
As you arrived on the scene, the deafening sound of gunfire filled the air, drowning out any semblance of normalcy. Lucy and Tim sprang into action, their movements swift and purposeful as they navigated the chaos.
"Stay in the car, Y/N!" Tim's command pierced through the chaos, his tone leaving no room for debate.
But as you sat there, the abrupt silence that followed sent a chill down your spine. Lucy's panicked cry for Tim shattered the stillness, sending your heart into overdrive, “Bradford!”
Ignoring Tim's orders, you bolted from the shop, desperation fuelling your every step. The scene before you was a tableau of chaos and confusion, the beauty of the Observatory juxtaposed against the violence that unfolded within its walls.
You searched frantically for any sign of Tim or Lucy, all you found was Tim's abandoned radio, a silent witness to the turmoil that had unfolded.
The setting sun cast long shadows, casting an eerie glow over the scene, a reminder of the fragility of life in the face of danger. And the tension is electric, like the calm before a storm. Tim’s voice crackles through the radio, cutting through the silence.
“Y/N Buckley, can you hear me?"
Tim's heart races with anticipation as he waits for your response. He's nervous, hoping that you'll hear him clearly. He wonders if you'll be able to sense the nerves in his voice, hoping that you'll understand the significance of what he's about to do.
Grinning, you grab the radio. “Loud and clear, Bradford” you replied, your voice steady but your pulse quickening with each passing second.
A pause stretches out, thick with anticipation. “Close your eyes, Buckley. And this time, try not to defy a direct order.”
Rolling your eyes but intrigued, you humor him and shut your eyes, taking a deep breath of the crisp air, feeling a rush of excitement coursing through your veins. You focused on the sound of Tim's voice, letting it wash over you like a warm embrace as he began to speak.
"You and I, Y/N, we’re a wild ride,” Tim starts, his voice unexpectedly tender. “Who would’ve thought our journey would lead us here, to this crazy, beautiful moment?”
As Tim's voice crackled through the radio, a surge of nervous energy swept through him. He had rehearsed his words a thousand times in his mind, but now that the moment was upon him, he couldn't help but feel a pang of doubt.
The weight of the ring in his hand served as a reminder of the gravity of the situation, filling him with both excitement and trepidation.
A soft touch grazes your hand, sending a thrill up your spine. Your heart pounds in your chest.
“You challenge me, drive me nuts, and somehow make me a better man,” he continues through the radio, a hint of a smile in his voice. “And damn it, I love you for it.”
You can’t help but smile, a warmth spreading through you. As you listen, you feel tears prickling at the corners of your closed eyes. Tim's words resonate with you, stirring something within yourself that you can't quite put into words.
You want to open your eyes, to see the man you love more clearly, but you also want to savor this moment a little while longer. With each word, you feel your heart swell with love for Tim. His vulnerability, his honesty, it all takes your breath away, leaving you utterly captivated.
"Open your eyes, sweetheart," Tim's voice breaks through your reverie, pulling you back to the present moment.
With a flutter of excitement, you obey, slowly parting your eyelids to reveal the sight before you. There is Tim, his eyes filled with love and longing as he slowly kneels down before your eyes, a small velvet box in his hand. The sight of him, vulnerable and trembling, fills you with a sense of awe and gratitude as the setting sun casts a golden halo around him, the cityscape stretching out behind him in a breathtaking panorama.
Tears of joy well in your eyes as you take in the sight of the ring in his hand, your heart overflowing with love for the man who means the world to you.
“Y/N Buckley,” Tim’s voice wavers just a bit, “will you marry me?”
For a moment, you are stunned into silence, your mind reeling with the weight of his question. You feel a surge of emotion welling up inside, threatening to spill over at any moment. This is it, the moment you've been dreaming of, the moment you've been waiting for since you laid eyes on Tim, few years back.
Tim chuckles, a nervous but endearing laugh. “I’ll take that as a yes?”
"Yes, Tim. A thousand times, yes!" your voice choked with tears, as your words ring out into the night, a declaration of love and commitment that echoes through the air.
With a trembling hand, Tim slips the ring onto your finger, sealing their promise with a simple yet profound gesture. As your eyes meet once more, you share a moment of perfect understanding, a silent acknowledgment of the love that binds you together.
Without another word, you're in each other's arms, holding onto each other tightly as if trying to make up for all the time you've lost. In that moment, nothing else matters but the overwhelming love you share, a love that has weathered every storm and emerged stronger than ever before.
Tim's lips meet yours in a tender kiss, a sweet yet passionate embrace that speaks volumes more than words ever could. You cling to each other, lost in the intensity of your emotions, your hearts beating as one in the darkness.
As you pull away, breathless and flushed with emotion, you share a smile that lights up the night. In each other's arms, you find solace and strength, knowing that no matter what the future holds, you'll face it together, hand in hand, heart to heart.
Nolan chimes in through the radio, his voice filled with laughter. "Bradford, are we breaking out the champagne or what?"
Tim's smile widens at Nolan's words, and he glances over at you with a playful twinkle in his eye. "Hold off on the champagne, Nolan," he replies, unable to suppress a laugh. "She said yes."
Murmuring softly, Tim leaned in close to your ear. "I guess I didn’t mess this one up, huh?"
You chuckled softly, leaning into his embrace. "Not this time, Bradford."

Well, what a good month for reading August has been! A few days off can make such a difference!
As always I'll try and tag the writers whose Tumblr username I know, so they know they are loved!
If your fiction is on this recommendation list and you'd rather I take it off the list, or if you know a writer who's on this list would rather not be, please let me know and I'll remove their fiction immediately.
I have really enjoyed these fictions, including not one but two Christmas stories. In August. Because, why not? i hope you'll love them too!
August's Awesome Fictions
WIPs:
Wavelengths & Frequencies by imposterssyndrome @maaikeatthefullmoon and shades_of_eccles_cakes @shadesofecclescakes (rated E, chapters 5/?)
I'm absolutely loving this enemies-to-lovers human AU where Crowley and Aziraphale are radio DJs. They loathe each other. They also can't stop thinking about each other! Of course they end up working for the same media corporation. The humour in this story is sharp and clever, and the characterisation is excellent! It's updated every Monday and honestly the only problem I have with this story is that I receive the notification email on a Monday morning and need to wait until at least the end of the working day to dive in!
You're The Bad Guys by Nebz_AlphaCentauri @alphacentaurinebula(rated E, chapters 8/?)
Human AU set in the Cold War. Aziraphale is an MI6 agent, Crowley is a KGB agent. They're assigned to the same mission in Berlin by their respective head offices. This story is full of suspense! I love the characterisation of our heroes and each chapter leaves me wanting for more! Updated every Friday.
My own WIP And I Did (rated E, chapters 6/13)
A post season 2 fiction where Aziraphale is Supreme Archangel and Crowley is Grand Duke Of Hell.
In my not-a-summary I say that this is a story about faith, about love, and about choices. Which is true. But I have come to think of it also as my apology dance to Crowley. My headcanon about Aziraphale has always been clear and my first fiction was me sharing that headcanon basically. I wasn't as sure about what Crowley would do after the final 15 as I was about what Aziraphale’s motives were. I didn't see Crowley drinking himself oblivious or taking a road of self destruction. But I didn't know what he would do. So I skipped that part and started that fiction from after the failed second coming, but still I didn't think I did Crowley justice. Then it hit me, and that was when I started writing And I Did. I knew what Crowley would do. Crowley would do what Crowley does. And what does Crowley do best? This is a story about faith, about love, and about choices. I try to update every weekend, but I might not be as reliable as I’d like!
Complete stories:
The Truth About Plants & Queen by ShortInsomniac98 (rated E, 11353 words)
Human AU where Crowley hosts a night radio program and Aziraphale calls in. I love how their relationship develops in this story and I loved to see a friendly side of Gabriel! (And I mean Gabriel!)
The Anon Before Christmas by @foolishlovers (rated E, 66732 words)
Ah. Where to begin. Every now and then, you read a fiction that just makes you feel at home. Makes you feel like you’re in safe hands. Like you’re in for a real treat. This absolute gem has very quickly become my favourite human AU. For several reasons. The characterisation of the two main characters is absolutely spot on. I could hear Crowley talking in DT’s Crowley voice and see him moving in DT’s Crowley way, and I could hear Aziraphale talking in MS’s Aziraphale voice and see him moving in MS’s Aziraphale way. The pace of the development of their relationship from enemies to lovers is just perfect. It’s told from Crowley’s POV and you can see how his perspective changes as the story progresses, but the writer is so good that Aziraphale’s change of perspective shows perfectly through Crowley’s POV too. The array of side characters is so good that it actually pains me to call them side characters. I wrote in one of my comments to the fiction that I will forever adore this story’s Bee, and I meant it, but Newt and Ana are equally fantastic (and I loved the other cameos too!). Also, and this is especially important to me, this story is as much a love story between Crowley and Aziraphale as it is a story of true friendship among all the characters. They look after each other, they have each other’s back, they support each other. I am so lucky and privileged to be able to see myself represented in that aspect of the story. Last but not least, this fiction doesn't overstay its welcome one bit. You are happy about how everyone ended up, but still could read more. It’s like you are part of the gang and want to know what your friends are up to. Everything in this story was perfect. I realise I haven’t mentioned what the plot is about, but hopefully by now you might want to find out for yourself!
Planes, Trains & The Apocalypse by walking_contradiction42 (rated teen, 32382 words)
Human AU where Crowley and Aziraphale meet on a plane on their way to Tadfield (via London) for Christmas. Crowley can't stand Aziraphale and only wants as uneventful a journey home as possible. Ha!
I understand there’s a film with a similar title, you definitely don't need to have watched the film in order to enjoy this lovely fiction.
The Bookseller And The Garden by oceantears (rated teen, 13668 words)
Fluff, fluff, fluff! Canon divergent fiction where Crowley is a demon stationed on earth, Aziraphale is an angel stationed on earth, but they have never met until present day. There's no end of the world in sight, only an angel and a demon falling in love and not knowing how to break it to the other that they're not human. I laughed all the way through.
After The End (part one of Nice And Ominous: A Reluctant Eschatology Of The Second Attempt) by beardo @e-rated-beardo (rated teen, 26086 words)
Crowley learns to cope after Aziraphale goes to heaven, with a little help.from his friends. And from the Bentley. I love the writer’s humour and the conversations between Crowley and the Bentley are hilarious.
Series:
Aziraphale’s Diaries by azzfell, @fellshish
This series is hilarious, warm and fluffy. So far there are four stories, all consisting in, yes you guessed it, Aziraphale’s diary entries. In the first story, Empirical study on the principles of snake care (rated teen, 2048 words), Aziraphale suddenly realises he hasn’t paid enough attention to Crowley snake-y needs. He decides he wants to make up for it. Hilarity ensues. Put your cup of tea down before day 6, trust me. In Experiments of an angel who has read entirely too much fanfic (rated teen, 3064 words), Aziraphale discovers fanfiction shipping him and Crowley and decides he wants to test some of the tropes on the demon. Reading Crowley’s reactions through Aziraphale’s POV lens will make you feel warm inside. Drink down at day 10. In How to be a demon: a brief history of the Arrangement (rated teen, 2663 words), Aziraphale recounts some of the temptations he’d had to do during the years, to honour the arrangement with Crowley. The last entry will make you melt. In Adventures of a mystery shopper in the bookshop (rated teen, 3090 words), Aziraphale is worried that Crowley is getting bored, so he wants to help by giving him something to do. Peeps, for this one don’t even pick your drink up. You’ll end up spitting it all over your laptop/phone/tablet.
One shots:
Keep Digging by Appleseeds (rated teen7068 words)
Human AU. Crowley and Aziraphale work in the same office and Crowley is trying to gather the courage to ask Aziraphale out, only to get cold feet at the last moment. In order to try and save his face, he needs to do what the title says. I howled with laughter. Just put down whatever you’re doing and go read this right now. It’s unbelievably hilarious.
But It’s Pretty by Supergeek21 (rated E, 2544 words)
Aziraphale and Crowley have a conversation on why the Bentley is yellow and why the walls are yellow. Things get deliciously spicy.
You've Got Kudos by curtaincall (rated M, 4128 words)
Aziraphale and Crowley both write Good Omens fanfiction on Ao3. Crowley’s stories are sweet and romantic. Aziraphale’s stories are smutty and spicy. They love each other's stories without knowing who the writer is. This fiction was a treat!
The Corset by smitten_obviously @sabine-smitten-obviously (rated G, 1248 words)
A funny and sweet account of that time in the 17th century when Aziraphale decided to wear a corset. I really loved how sweet Crowley is here, without overdoing it a bit! A little gem.
My own little one shot, Angel! Angel! They're At It Again! (rated M, 5566 words)
It's the year 2030. The world never ended. Aziraphale and Crowley are living happily and safely together as a married couple. Everything would be well, if it wasn't that lately Aziraphale has been a bit busy. A bit distracted. Now, Crowley can't have that, can he? He seeks the advice of his girlfriends, who unwittingly give him an idea on how to liven up his marriage. A fluffy and hopefully funny way to the South Downs cottage.
Poems:
To Wish To Fall by ArchangelRemiel @sassysnakedemon
A lovely and sweet poem that explores different ways of falling.
The Devil's Red Hair by lickthecowhappy
I really loved this very emotional poem! Aziraphale has a little souvenir helping him cope in heaven.
