Yes and no honestly. Baxine's father was unfortunately semi sexist, believing it was a man's world & that unless a woman has a successful career as a corporate owner, CEO or anything from Positional power. Anything less & a woman's place is in the background or just to aid & serve the men Making it quite obvious that he wanted a son to mold in his image in terms of engineering. Unfortunately Baxine was born a girl & he was disappointed to say the least so his expectations of her were extremely high from the start. Hence why when she was able to he made her help him in repairing things in the house or on his job

He wanted Baxine to rise to an acceptable spot in life & anything less would be a disappointment making sure she was a prodigy as soon as possible. Also because I can see it being asked or brought up. No Baxine didn't really have a career or idea of what she wanted to be before this, so it's not like her dreams were shattered or taken from her but she does acknowledge the choice wasn't exactly given to her either, it's mostly just whatever to her because she does genuinely enjoy her scientific accomplishments & the IQ she has because of it. Like her IDW counterpart, it was fried into her head that success & winning was all that truly mattered in life & she took that into heart.
