im so glad that we never get a clear picture of sophie’s background in leverage & i hope we never do. however i also really like making up various, often conflicting backstories for her in my head. perhaps they’re all backstories for an alias of hers, ones she laid to rest back in season two.

#leverageposting #leverage #sophie devereaux #particularly that one of or both her parents had to move around a lot for work & so she would change herself to fit in at every new school #or new town etc etc. and that whatever original identity she had was dropped due to some kind of really awful event and her bio family think #she’s dead. eg she got into some kind of extreme legal trouble for the first time & she faked her death & everyone she knew as a kid thinks #she’s dead too. like. astrid wasn’t the first person she left to miss/mourn her.#but also that she was a teen runaway at like age ~16 and pretended to be an adult (like. 18/19) cause theres not much you can do by yourself #as a minor like booking flights or renting an apartment. and so began her first proper alias. and she was a pickpocket until she could fund #her life fully through grifting & cons.#or alternatively her parents died when she was a teen & she was old enough to become an emancipated minor (everyone in lev is an orphan)#and she kind of just fell into crime from there bc she had no one #or perhaps she got married at 17 and realised how fucked it all was and stashed money until she could run away & leave it all behind. that’s #bc of a single vague sentence on john rogers’ blog saying she was married at 17 and in context it was quite possibly a joke or random #hypothetical example but i was like what if???? What If???????#i also like the hc that she’s trans which i’ve seen a few times #in some versions in my mind her parents were okay and in some versions they were awful and in some versions it was so complicated.#i think tara has heard one story and parker or hardison have heard another and nate has never heard any story. he’s never asked.#she is here now and that’s all that needs knowing. and sophie devereaux is her real name in any way it matters.#eliot has also never asked and she asked if he was curious once and he just asked if she was curious about What He Did and that was answer #enough for the both of them. just a mutual agreement not to ask and it actually solidified their bond.#i think she struggled for a long time about whether to tell her new family The Real Story but in much the same way we never hear her birth #name bc it’s not Her anymore… she never gives The Real Story. bc it no longer defines who she is. she’s so much more than whatever happened.#lvg

i think there's really something to be said about how there has never been a record i've encountered where people wanted justification or excuse to refuse to acknowledge the intention and seriousness of the project itself like danger days by both defenders and haters. i find it so incredibly bizarre and strange and partially fascinating.

#its all wrapped up in what danger days represents for people partially.#like idk ive been trying to verbalize it for yeaarsss but it always feels like people rhetorically discuss it as a side-effect #of whatever neurosis soothes their narrative. its a record of immense mania and tragedy for some people for instance #which i find very laughable but whatever. people want dd to be miserable for so many reasons #which is immediately rendered sort of null when you compare parade. both the touring and the album making process.#like realistically this is a band that every single record is shaded with immense difficulty and uncertainty #but instead of dealing with that fans love to sort of isolate danger days since its this moment of betrayal its the beginning of the end #its not what people wanted #when realisitically the single biggest creative pressure on the band would've been being severely in debt #to the label for scrapping con weap. LMAO. but that never factors. because its about narratives.#like danger days To Me is an incredibly ambitious record. clearly personal. artistically inspired. absolutely rushed job #because they were bleeding money.#but its cool that they took that stand!!! and they had to have felt collectively passionate enough to do that in the first place!#but people want to engage with it on the terms of their disappointment. or the record as a harbinger of doom.#idk i was reading rym reviews (a mistake) and its wild how the critical positive consensus is either #incredibly stupid teenagers thinking mcr want to firebomb a walmart or 'well its not as good but i like fun things!'#am i crazy for thinking it more serious than that? that its pulling sonically from a wide array of inspirations and actually working #in conversation with them???#anyway. synths 4ever.#my posts

THATS ME!!!!! i didn't mean to just give them to pjsk fans help but i severely underestimated how many i should've made and cut out .. so i just ended up giving them to cosplayers or people who said hi to me .... T_T

i personally cannot wait for s8 to start with an episode that focuses on the new normal under gerrard and on the eddie drama potentially. just for a small (or big?!?) bucktommy hint to be dropped in the middle or end to say that we are SO back!! 😍

Gosh, i am truly excited for whatever they do with the plot and arcs for the characters. It’s 911 so we know what we are in for. I worry about bucktommy for many reasons. I mean, we still have zero confirmation about Lou being back, and I don’t want to get my hopes up by going “when x happens” like certain unhinged fans of a certain fanon ship that shall not be named act. I want it so bad to see buck and tommy navigate through their relationship this season (I’d love to see them on a call together or maybe tommy gets hurt and we see the effect it has on buck), I really do, but unfortunately I will hold on expectations until there’s a undeniable confirmation from the 911 gods.

But we can manifest, besties. I’d love a big or small hint throughout the episode too!

#if yall don’t know why my expectations are so low I’ll explain here #I was in the #julie and the phantoms #fandom a few years back and I was very involved #the fans (me included) were really hyping for a second season as there were many positive signs that the show was going to be renewed #we all were like ‘when season 2 comes’ this and that #but as you can guess such thing didn’t happen #it took more than a year after the first season premiered for Netflix to say anything whether the show was renewed or cancelled #Netflix didn’t even have the balls to officially issue a statement #the creator of the show announced during a con and it was absolutely heartbreaking for all the fans cause we did A LOT #people created podcasts #got the show trending multiple times on here and Twitter #had watch parties to make it trend on Netflix #got the reaction YouTubers to become fans etc #and in the end none of that mattered #so now I take fan expectation with caution so I don’t get disappointed #911 #lety rambles #bucktommy #ask

love waking up from a dream having been gifted with THE MOST PROFOUND KNOWLEDGE THAT I MUST WRITE DOWN AND SHARE WITH THE WORLD IMMEDIATELY only to properly wake up like 2 minutes later and being like "this is nonsense".

#i dreamt my friend from okinawa was teaching in the classroom underneath mine (apparently there was a classroom underneath mine)#and the kids from his classroom kept escaping and coming into mine via stairs i didn't even know existed #and he described them as 'indigo children' looking for 'the road of dreams'#and then he came to me afterwards - having turned into patrick stewart but retaining his hair - and he said:#'do you know the way to the road of dreams? first you must go up'#and i had a little tricycle/truck hybrid thing with an inflatable hamburger some wooden blocks and a beach ball stuck to the back #and i was like. this is it. this is the key. if i have these things then i can find the road of dreams #and i woke up like okay i must write this down i must remember this #and it took me between getting off my bed and turning on the air con to go 'wait no this is dream nonsense'#i did find out indigo children were actually like a pseudoscience thing in the 1970s/80s though so there you go #and the characteristics that describe indigo children are pretty much me haha #and then i kept reading and it was like 'a lot of so-described indigo children actually have adhd'#but parents prefered to believe their kid was gifted and destined to lead a religious revolution than to accept they had 'a disorder'#so that makes sense lmao
