Shigaraki/Tenko wanting to destroy the false sense of peace All Might and Heroes created
.⬇️.
Shigaraki/Tenko wanting to destroy everything that lead to the existence of that house, which he conceptualizes as the embodiment of rejection and injustice in the world. Be a Hero for the Villains.
.⬇️.
AFO basically literally created that house
.⬇️.
Shigaraki/Tenko helps defeat AFO
.⬇️.
Deku telling him 'you already destroyed it' is... apparently Shigaraki/Tenko having finally gotten rid of the true cause of (his) rejection and injustice? main antagonist's big problem that represents an overarching major issue of the story/in-universe society... solved? (main antagonist's big problem that represents an overarching major issue of the story/in-universe society not actually being the problem he thought it was but now also solved?)
.⬇️.
No longer a need for there to be a Hero for the Villains, Shigaraki/Tenko dies.
.⬇️.
Heroes not to be blamed in the first place. also fuck everyone else and all other 'actual' outcasts I guess.
#i understand that Tenko not having 'supposed' to be rejected doesn't mean the rejection didn't occur for the other League members#but taking that away from Tenko/Shigaraki - leader of the League of Villains - wanting to be their champion#symbolically being their collective grievances and wills condensed into one#taking that away makes the story a lot weaker#GOD what happened#nalslastworkingbraincell#honestly making everything AFO's fault#and making Tenko's main issue being his despair toward himself (created by AFO)#allowed for the (seemingly for now) clean resolution of 'get rid of the both of them' possible#It's AFO's fault? Kill him! Problem solved#Tenko's issue not actually *harm caused by other (non-AFO) people* but instead *harm caused by his self-conceptualization/his own self*?#Tenko's projecting his own self-loathing and anger onto the world and causing trouble for everyone and making his crusade meaningless?#let him die too. Pity but problem solved!#AFO gave him the specific quirk that was Decay because it was such a brutal and deadly quirk that would guarantee rejection#you cannot tell me he could've been fine after manifesting Decay if only AFO wasn't there to tell him he has an innate need to destroy#not after what we've seen of Shinsou and Toga#other 'normal' people would not have let him live a normal life#that *is* also very much a problem that should be addressed#but it was AFO who gave him Decay and Decay was also actually not naturally existing#so everything's fine! no changes for anyone!#all this could've been saved if this was transferred to AFO - AFO also seen as a victim of societal apathy#especially since he was BORN A TRASH RIVER RAT ORPHAN#but he's just a lonely guy who was too unpleasant to form real relationships#so. only real issue Hero Society ever had that needed to be addressed was civilians being too hard on Heroes#gotta love them more and demand less of them#yippee

to think that if yoichi hadn't gone against afo then afo would've been able to fully take over society with minimal effort and then finally be able to get everything he's ever dreamed of
#he spent so many years chasing after yoichi it delayed his other plans for over a century#if yoichi had joined him from the start then he would've been able to dedicate all his time to taking over and then the bnha society would#look very different than how it looks now#says so much about a41 though in how he was willing to just drop everything and go after him even when it would've been far more-#beneficial to kill the ofa holders when they had ofa in their possession (and hori tells us he did get his hand on two of them while they-#still had ofa so he could've easily ended it all there but he didn't)#might've made a post like this before but to me it's so !!!!!!!!! says so much about a41 and his feelings towards yoichi#side note but also thinking of how shigaraki mom would feel about seeing a world where a41 won#I guess it depends on which type of shigaraki mom you choose to think about....

Tomura Shigaraki 's abuse and neglect under All for One
I've decided to make this post due to the fact AFO's abuse towards Tomura is often ignored and even denied, so I'll be bringing a collection of scenes that prove he was being severally neglected during the 15 years he lived with AFO
1- Malnourishment and Underweight
At the beginning of the story Tomura used to be very skinny, his spine visible, very accentuated collar bones.
We can't see if his ribcages are exposed too since he's always dressed, but we can tell he is abnormally skinny and thin.
Some theorize AFO's purposefully keeps him in this state so he's more weak and frail similar to Yoichi. Or so it adds to his tiredness and numbness.
He's also been shown randomly struggling before (it could've been the aftershock of Stain attack, i don't know)
2- Lack of hygiene
He literally lives in pure filth, trash bags, old soda cans, paper, boxes, packages of food that seems ordered other than homemade, it lingers all over his floor, he is clearly a hoarder
It's completely different of the kept and clean bar, and now before you say "That's Tomura's responsibility, he's an adult he should clean it himself!" just think for a minute, if you had a son, that you see as your heir, and bets on their future so much,If you truly cared about them and saw they felt into a hoarder mindset, wouldn't you at least help?
Why not even Kurogiri cleans if Tomura was being cared by him? This clearly is intentional neglect, specially to keep his mood constantly down.
3 - His teeth
Tomura canonically has crooked teeth (compare his teeth to the other's in the jump festa art), cavities or at least what looks like plaques or dirt all over his teeth.
For someone raised by someone as filthy rich as AFO, he should've had access to dental care
4- Shaggy hair
His hair looks un-brushed, shaggy and dirty, which had no reason for before MVA when he became homeless, so why even at the start? How long has he taken a bath or a shower?
Look at the blatant difference in this scene after he showered at the PLF mansion
5- Unkept, ragged and broken nails
despite his hands also being very skinny, his nails are also all rough and broken Now, I know Tomura isn't a kid to have someone cut his nails for him, but this implies he was never teached how to take care for himself.
Besides of course his clear symptoms of depression and suicidal idealism, which, are very obvious, All for One IS neglecting Tomura by keeping him in that state /knowing/ he isn't being capable of taking care of himself.
6- His bedroom
First of all: No windows
Second, notice how empty it used to be, he had nothing but a bed and a desk, but right as he committed his first murder he started to receive toys, AFO is lovebombing and manipulating him to kill more
7- The obvious neglect to his pain
Notice how every time Tomura panics or is even wounded, he is just ignored and left on the floor bleeding out, puking or writhing.
Which uh- it isn't normal to watch your kid writhe in the floor while smiling and monologuing
8- 24/7 Surveillance and lack of privacy
There are cameras everywhere, AFO spends most of the time watching Tomura, even in his own bedroom, and even talks to him, Tomura probably hasn't had any privacy ever since he was 5
Which is a sign of abuse and control
His entire childhood from 5 to 20 is often relatable for people who grew in cult like environments, and homeschooled children who grew under controlling parents, despite the abuse not being as "obvious" since AFO never directly physically hurt him, the neglect and psychological torture is still there, that and more all the manipulation, gaslighting and grooming (think of Mother Gothel from Tangled as an example of this type of abuser)
By the way, talking about it
9- Gaslighting
"but wasn't /you/ who desired my power?"
The entire body possession plot is a clear evidence AFO never saw Tomura as anything other than a toy to play with, the same way he saw Yoichi, but so many people say the possession was a retcon because "early afo cleared saw him as his heir, he even said it's all for him!"
Well, argue with the literal "he's the next me", while he is.... weirdly caressing the screen while he watches his kid with no privacy- 100% creep behavior
10- AFO's bizzare behavior towards Tomura
The way All for One's hands are often shown caressing him or encasing him somehow, which yeah, it's part of the symbology of Tomura's character (hands that can both hurt and save)
But knowing AFO represents /hurt/ and, you know, i'ts kinda weird to caress the kid you kidnaped off the streets like that-
Cuz yes! Picking kids from the street even if they are orphan is illegal!! You should take them to a police station instead :D
Tomura was KIDNAPED by AFO, not saved.
11- Proof Tomura doesn't /feel/ saved
During his fight against Bakugou, when he sees him being helped, besides being "broken" he starts to spiral on "why no one saved me even before i was broken?"
The visual including the granny that ignored him on the streets
AFO broke him.
He recurrently thinks back to when he was on the streets, even though he was already traumatized, and had already killed his family, he still had /hope/ he ADMITS he believes he could've been different if it wasn't for AFO
If AFO had truly saved him,he wouldn't think like this
12- AFO gifting Tomura the corpses of his family to intentionally keep him nauseated, uncomfortable and traumatized, so he never heals
Besides their weird placements- On a kid. the gangster's hands being in his chest...
13-AFO's intentional desire for Tomura's discomfort
If this entire thread didn't make it obvious already, All for One benefits of Tomura's tiredness, ill feelings, nausea, depression and suicidal mindset, and over all physical and psychological discomfort
This ensures he's submissive to his manipulations and orders, keep him feeling hatred and anger due to constant overwhelming feelings and makes it harder for him to think of why AFO does all of it at all.
I could go even deeper than this about it, but i've reached thread limit and am lazy, so I hope you enjoyed this thread!
Thank you for reading

Slowly leaving the copium phase and getting genuinely curious what even was the intention behind the epilogue?
The manga could've ended with Deku punching Shigaraki into dust and nothing of value would have been lost. Why are we spending 70% of the epilogue on the society rebuilding itself back to status quo? Nothing has changed, no lesson was learned in the war against villains because they were successfully defeated. Pro heroes are alive and well, the hero kids, despite being literal war veterans at 16 years old are all still in the hero course. Now they even have their own fans.
Is it supposed to show how the hero propaganda makes child soldiers and keeps the machine running forever by glorifying the profession and demonizing the villains? Is it supposed to show the heavy burden the heroes will be carrying for the rest of their lives after getting killed the person they set out to save?
Is it supposed to be so dark and hopeless? No one won in this war, no one got what they wanted, none of the saviour trio achieved their goal of saving their villain, with two confirmed dead and one joining them soon. Even the narrative's golden boy Bakugou got his dream of competing with Deku forever taken away from him because Deku doesn't have a quirk anymore. (on that note, what Izuku is even doing in UA still when the manga has spent so much time establishing how impossible heroics are for quirkless people and not giving us even one example of a quirkless hero who did not get OFA).
Why this insistence on making both sides as miserable as possible? For a manga that started as a hopeful story about saving people, giving them hope, that sure is a choice.
Not sure what message we are supposed to take away from this other than a 'Fuck you' from the author to all of his readers.
#i understand and am very sympathetic towards the burnout and pure exhaustion he has from writing this story#but why take it out on all of the characters?#horikoshi is really beating the entire cast with sticks and throwing stones at the villains specifically#bnha epilogue is a marvelous lesson in fucking up your own story to an unbelievable degree#bnha#bnha spoilers#bnha critical

You know, honestly the LoV should have won the Paranormal Liberation War and annihilated most of the Class 1A and the hero society as a whole. I didn't like Class 1A because nobody died and plot armor saved them too many times so I want the LoV to win in the PLF War Arc.
While I can't say I’m a big proponent to any of the kids dying, especially when they…used to be…the best chance the story had at changing things in the next generation. (Definitely should’ve killed more pro heroes though, especially Endeavor.) But that other stuff?
Yeah, yeah I think the first war should’ve ended in a far more decisive villain victory. Especially one where they get to be in charge a bit.
Like, people came away from the first war thinking the heroes lost, and certainly it was their worst showing of an operation in living memory. But did they lose? Certainly not. The villains lost over 99% of their forces including many of their power players that could’ve taken on pro heroes solo and won. Sure they picked up more later for the 2nd war, but most of these replacements were USJ-tier nobodies at best. Meanwhile the heroes only lost half their numbers...and most were just due to cold feat in the aftermath. Actual casualties were, as I recall, a few dozen or so? Maybe in the low hundreds?
And I think that’s quite a missed opportunity. I’d have loved to see what things could’ve been like with Shigaraki on his rubble throne; let the PLF put their money where their mouths were and make the easier-to-live-in world Toga kept talking about. I think it could’ve been a great way to show the flaws that were supposed to be in their approach, maybe see why things can’t get better through their kind of violent upheaval or what ways they aren’t equipped to govern; but maybe also highlight some more flaws in the existing system by having the PLF focus hard on fixing them or maybe fixing a few easily. Just one "man, why didn't we do that?" situation could've been really cool & interesting.
Instead we got a period where nobody was in charge…well, actually more accurately the heroes and their government were still in charge in theory, but they were doing it badly because they failed once so a bunch of people lost so much faith that they stopped listening and chose to live in localized effective anarchy instead. But then the heroes prove themselves again and it all went back to normal.
(Man, putting it like that makes the hero system seem like the stock market if it was law enforcement.)
Anyway, because we didn’t really get to see what the villains’ world would be like, I still kind of think a resolution where Shigaraki triumphed over everyone and came out on top as ruler would’ve been the 2nd best ending for everything we could’ve gotten. (1st was of course one where heroes and villains work together for a best of both worlds resolution. 3rd by a wide margin is the one we got where everything goes back to as it was and trucks along to doomsday. And 4th was the one where AFO pulls a win out his ass.) Because, considering how aware the PLF are of the existing system’s flaws and their want to correct them; I can’t think of much solid criticism for their hypothetical governance that are not themselves purely hypothetical worst-case assumptions. I mean, besides ‘it’s wrong to get there through such violence’…and this is a shonen action manga where All Might ushered in an age of peace after beating up enough of AFO’s goons. A message like that’d always read a little hollow.
I can’t help but think that’s not the impression I was supposed to get towards the idea of the League being in charge and trying to make their easier world, but it’s the one I got anyway because there's not much to disprove it. Whoops.
Besides, the Paranormal Liberation War arc really was the villains' arc; if anyone had earned a true win by the end, it was them.

When you realize the first tragedy of the War (Tomura's Mass Radius Decay) could've been completely avoided if the heroes performed an evacuation. Tomura was weeks away from completion.
That one laser-eye "hero" really deserved to his fate for the one of the stupidest decisions ever.
Don't you think there's an irony to it though?
Looking back at the moment laser literally only tries to destroy the machines surrounding shigaraki because he thinks it's for the best having them destroyed.
In a way this goes to prove how the way heroes have done things is quite flawed and that the whole ideology by win to save is also incredibly flawed and has caused the deaths of many others (as this does in the war arc). The whole infiltration plan has a lot of gaps since it's taking place in broad daylight with multiple innocent civilians around (aka more collateral damage) and it's worse because the heroes are always shown to be characters who fight first and then talk later. One can argue that this is a gaping flaw from hero society teaching heroes to be on their toes and to always attack if in danger or to destroy anything dangerous instead of approaching it in a different way because suprise destroying danger (in the form of horrible violence and killing) doesn't always work and can easily backfire on you just like it did with laser and miriko in the first war arc.
Talking about miriko she is the one who destroyed shigarakis tube and it was because of her jumping straight into battle that she ended up getting horribly injured to the point of losing two limbs.
Now that I think about it the series has always went ahead and given concequences to heroes that jump straight into battle simply choosing to destroy without actually getting a good grasp or understanding of the situation they're in. This is the reason why bakugo literally dies in the second war arc.
However, even with all of this shown chapter 430 ends by telling us that the hero society and industry now still very much values strength and is highly concentrated with people who have strong and powerful quirks instead of valuing other aspects like intelligence and strategy.
#mha#mha critical#bnha critical#bnha#bhna critical#thanks for the ask#horikoshi critical#thanks for the ask!#thanks anon#thanks anon!#idk the whole thing shows#how win to save is flawed#and how hero society that has been dominantly win to save sufferes from this#i kinda wish hori done more here

I felt like being emotionally destroyed today, so I watched the dub of episode 151 of MHA. I don't know what it is about Izuku's face when he comes careening out of the sky like a fucking warhead and sees the state of the fight but it gets to me every single time in both languages. He looks positively haunted and it makes me want to cry, my poor son. Anywho, to recover, I decided to go rewatch 136 and 137, which are my favorite episodes of the entire goddamn series and I realized it's high time I do a little rant about them.
This is mostly for me because, again, I don't have anyone to rant about this with and I have got to get these emotions out of me somehow, but I hope someone else finds it enjoyable!
Welcome to Lizzy's MHA Evening Ramble: Why MHA episodes 136 (Deku vs. Class A) and 137 (A Young Woman's Declaration) are what really show us the impact Izuku has had on the people around him (specifically Class 1-A).
Honestly, I don't have much science to back up this post. There's not really a psychological reason behind why these episodes slap, but they do and I'm gonna talk about it.
You see, for better or for worse, everyone in Class-A has a different and unique personality. That much is obvious, I know, but that also means each of them have different things that impact them. Think about it, what means a lot to one person doesn't so much to another.
And yet, despite that, every single one of them had something to say to Deku. Every single one of them. For some of them, it was as simple as helping them organize their notes. For others, it was something he said or did that has followed them through the entire show.
"Meddling where you don't technically have to is the essence of being a hero, right?"
Izuku said that one time to Tenya. One time. But that, accompanied by his actions that night, became the corner stone of what Tenya strove to become.
They all voted to go after Izuku–not even voted, they all just got up and went. No second thoughts, no questions, they just went. They literally slapped a GPS out of Endeavor's hand so they could find him. They were not about to take no for an answer, not even from Izuku himself. It's insane, honestly, that one person managed to impact a group so deeply they'd risk everything to bring him back to their class.
I think a lot of the time, we think of difficult or unhealthy relationships as those where you give and give and give and the other person refuses to the same. No one really tells you what to do when someone you love dearly is giving so much it's hurting them, but they refuse to receive. It's an odd situation, but one I love seeing explored.
Could they have just let him go on his own? Fight by himself because that's what he wanted? Yeah, they totally could've. But they didn't, because they knew if the roles were reversed, Izuku wouldn't have thought twice about hunting them down. They weren't victims, they didn't want to be protected, they wanted to kick ass at his side.
They didn't do it out of heroism or even necessity I'd argue, they did it because that was their friend and they'd be damned if they let him suffer alone.
Still, despite that, Izuku wanted to protect them and he was so, so scared to lose them. It makes sense, in a sad, twisted way, that he would rather keep them locked away behind a wall and fight alone than let them stand at his side. He was haunted by the shit the people around him went through because of Shigaraki and AFO. It's far easier to blame yourself for things than it is to admit that it wasn't your fault and, sometimes, nothing could've done would've changed the outcome. I have no doubt it would've felt like he killed them himself if he went back and something happened, and the thought of that was far more terrifying than any threat to his own person. Of course he wanted to fight alone, he didn't want to fathom the possibility someone else would get hurt because they were around him.
But that wasn't for him to decide.
Sometimes, we forget a relationship goes two ways. It was dangerous for them to be there, sure, but that was a choice they made. A choice they wanted to make. They couldn't make him let them help, but he couldn't make them go away either. I have no doubt that if he got away that day, they'd have followed him to the ends of the earth until he gave in.
It's also easy to forget Izuku is just a kid. He's sixteen, barely in high school. Ochaco says as much when she pleads with the crowds to let him in. Her voice cracks as she begs this group mostly made of ADULTS to let a boy rest inside the walls of his own school. He probably doesn't physically know how to deal with these kinds of emotions yet (the frontal lobe, responsible in part for our emotional reactions to situations, doesn't fully develop until around 25/26, and even then research suggests it's never really fully done). It probably makes perfect sense to him that the best course of action is to be alone, even if it seems stupid to us.
We all need support at any age, but especially during those teenage years. Those are vital years of development as the mind develops and starts to take shape. Izuku has been beaten, traumatized, and terrified, it's no wonder he seems to be making such irrational decisions.
No kid should be carrying the weight of the entire goddamn world on their shoulders at that age and, of course, no one could've predicted that AFO was going to accelerate the process and force Deku to face him, but that doesn't make it any better.
However, that's the great thing about having friends, families, and partners, they come alongside you in those times and help you navigate this crazy new situation. They pick up the things you can't handle because they want to. Sometimes, they just stand next to you. Sometimes you have them lean on you for support. And, sometimes, they shoulder up next to you and carry you for a bit so you can catch your breath.
Because that's what you'd do for them.
Whenever I watch these episodes, I'm reminded of that scene in Lord of the Rings where Frodo thinks he can't go on and Sam says, "I can't carry the ring, but I can carry you!" I think this has similar vibes.
They couldn't carry One for All, but they could carry Izuku, and they were determined to do at least that.

Do you feel Overhaul with his Yakuza and the Meta Liberation Army make better Villians then the LOV.
Also do you think they were more competent in their goals compared to the LOV.
Well let's look at each of them.
Overhaul wanted to get rid of quirks and bring the Yakuza back into power for the boss that he had put into a coma. He committed horrible crimes in pursuit of this goal, but he did successfully find a way to remove quirks from people under the power of his own organization.
So he was absolutely the most competent, and I wonder how he would act if he found out that Midoriya was originally quirkless. It also could've been really cool to see like, Looking to the Future(heroes and quirks) vs Living in the Past(No quirks and the golden age of the Yakuza)
The MLA were quirk-supremacy, might makes right, kind of people, and that's pretty much just the world's view at large taken to the extreme. The idea of the original founder wanting free quirk use in a time where everyone was terrified of them could've been a cool theme to explore, instead they folded to a group of exactly six people. Gigantomachia also showed up, but the end result would've been the same if he hadn't.
Incompetent. Maybe thematically interesting. Most of their leaders don't even have powerful quirks of their own, they're only in charge because of the influence/money they have. Automatically proving that their own philosophy of quirk supremacy is meaningless.
The League of Villains overall, just wanted to do whatever they want and be free from consequences. Shigaraki wants to destroy things. Dabi wants to kill Endeavor and whoever else he chooses. Toga wants people's blood(consent optional). Compress was just a thief that wanted to Robin Hood-style deal with corruption, and ended up not doing anything like that. Twice just wanted somewhere to be accepted, he's the exception. Spinner was a victim of discrimination that jumped in the first ideological extreme that popped out at him. Their individual goals all turn into "tear everything down and leave nothing(except maybe the stuff we like)."
The League was also pretty incompetent. Nearly all of their successes were built off of what All for One had built. Doctor Ujiko and the nomu, Gigantomachia, hell, even Kurogiri. The League didn't do shit by themselves, but somehow they were the main villains of the series.

I love Shigaraki but I have issues with him too
His is undoubtedly one of the most tragic backstories we've seen in MHA. Having to live with one of the most cursed quirks, he is a tragic character. Anything he touches, dies. Be it people, animals or object. This is why I felt for this man, why I gradually gravitated towards him.
When his backstory reached its climax, and we hear an adult Shigaraki narrate saying he felt liberation and enjoyment watching all the things around him being destroyed, I went nani.....?
And later on he complains about no one wanting to come to his rescue (minus the old lady but she too freaked out looking at Shigaraki) and say he wants to destroy everything just because?
I can understand that you can create villains with zero redeeming qualities in them but writers who create such villains never gave the readers to sympathise with them in the first place. They are just introduced as an out-and-out villain right off the bat.
This wasn't the case with Shigaraki though. We all witnessed his abusive childhood, his pain, sorrows, his villain origin in the making 101. These circumstance made some of the readers feel bad for him as a character. But these moments are immediately taken away from him and we are left with a character who enjoyed killing his own family, yet wants to destroy everything just because the world was cruel to him. Make it make sense, Hori!
P.S some MHA fans claim that Shigaraki's personality is affected because of his quirk. What are your thoughts on this specific statement?

Spinner, writing
---
The first time Spinner picks up the pen, his hand becomes too heavy the moment he sets it down on the surface of the table. The white of the paper in front of him blurs and blurs with the surroundings until he has to shut his eyes to clear his vision. In his mind, he immediately sees Shigaraki.
The pen snaps in his grip.
The doctors have to sedate him.
-
The second time Spinner picks up the pen, he tries to write Shigaraki's name. When he can't, he instead writes 'League of Villains.'
Now what?
"The League of Villains was..."
Was...
—the only place he felt he could belong.
Spinner's own words. He said them, once. He said them, to—Toga, who was about to run off, to find one of those Hero trainees. Because—Twice had died, Twice had been killed by Hawks, the second of them to die, after Magne, and—
Spinner throws the pen away. He drags himself over to his bed and buries his head in his pillow, biting hard into the cloth and cotton. He keeps perfectly silent, even as his eyes and heart and everything else that is him screams.
-
Some days, he resents Shigaraki. For not coming back for him, them, the League. For failing to beat that stupid fucking kid. For telling that kid to give Spinner those last words. Without them, Spinner could've stayed empty.
But Shigaraki's words are inside of him now, and Spinner cannot throw them away. They roll through his mind, always, day and night, echoing in that low, raspy voice of Shigaraki's, and though they always end up making wrong turns, crashing into the walls Spinner has tried put up to keep himself upright and moving, Spinner lets them stay. They are agony, and they destroy him. They are so very much Shigaraki's, and there is nothing Spinner treasures more.
-
He hits a stride when he decides to write as if he's writing letters.
-
Shigaraki—
I got your message.
-
Shigaraki—
Kinda mean of you to not say anything to Mister, or Dabi, or Toga. They'd be so disappointed.
-
Shigaraki—
The food here is terrible. Remember when you won us sushi? And yakiniku? I never had anything so expensive in my life. It was thanks to you.
-
Shigaraki—
I'm sorry.
I'm sorry I didn't do anything when All For One said you were you, but I knew you weren't, not completely. I'm sorry I didn't try to get answers, and just listened to whatever he said. I'm sorry I didn't help you, I'm sorry I just let you scream you were in pain and it was so obvious so obvious that something was wrong and I didn't help. I should've questioned him more I should've demanded he stop whatever he was doing to you I should've
you were hurting you took that surgery for our sake I said I was acting for your sake too but I wasn't I should've helped you for real. You were our leader you saved us you saved me and I should've saved you too.
Sorry sorry I'm so sorry.
I can't ever make it up to you and I'm sorry.

I honestly think AFO's main mistake was wasting too much time with the heroes in Gunga, he could have destroyed them as he eventually did long before, in that case he would face Armored All Might with a cooler head and with more time on the clock, he would probably win without major complications and there wouldn't be any obstacles until Shigaraki after him, since Bakugou would still take a little longer to wake up.
Well to be fair he was trying his best but there was a lot of them all jumping him at once so its hard to keep moving when you got a ton of people on you.
He tried leaving the battlefield after Endeavor got sidetracked with Dabi, but Hawks kept getting in the way. Once the students from that other school arrived he didn't exactly waste time using this powerful quirk that incapacitated a lot of them.
Then not too long after he uses this
But unfortunately Tokoyami comes into the picture shortly after and does a powerful attack that rewinded him younger.
Instead of trying to keep fighting the students after rewinding to a younger state his first instinct was to keep flying away with the students trying to chase after him.
Then Machia comes and interrupts everything and then we see beloved kitten being jumped at all angles once more.
This happens for a brief moment until he lashes out at Machia, killing him and sends another attack towards the heroes that makes them pass out.
He then steals Hawks quirk, makes a little speech then bails out.
So he was genuinely trying to leave as fast as he could, but there was so much opposition it was hard to keep going. Eventually he did succeed but not after taking too much damage that ended up screwing him over for the All Might fight.
Truthfully he shouldn't have bothered with All Might in the first place because dealing with that is what ultimately cost him the war as I think he still could've won in the state he was in when he left Gunga. But yeah he couldn't let All Might go thinking he could stand there and defy him so openly rip

It is a fair question tho, how many people did Himiko kill? Personally, I dont even think her kill count was even in the double digits when we even met her.
The timeline of events surrounding her are vague, but she really couldn't have had her Saito mental breakdown more than a few months before canon, and there's only so many people you can suck dray in about a year and a half.
It's interesting to speculate, but I'm a fan of her having not killed anyone before the LoV, as that makes for a more interesting bit of character interpretation.
We have no idea.
You're correct; her attacking Saito had to be only a few months at most before Midoriya met All Might, meaning that she joins the League after about 14 to 17 months on the run. Saito's fate is also never stated.
We know she's comfortable killing because she kills those CRC guys without hesitation, but while Shigaraki deletes Jakku and everyone in it and Dabi flambes some dudes in an alley, most of the League are never shown actually killing people. This is almost certainly for pacing; actually watching them go apeshit on some people before joining the League would be a drag.
We know that there was a string of bloodletting murders after the attacked Saito, and Toga is a person of interest in them, and never confirmed or denied responsibility when Curious confronted her about it
This picture is interesting because of the blood pattern
Dude looks like he hit that wall at terminal velocity more than he got stabbed; look at the splatter from impact. There's also no entry wound on his front. While he could've been stabbed in the back, he'd still have to be bleeding pretty bad and hit the wall pretty hard to get that spread. While the blood loss is easy to explain--the knife has to come out for him to have actually hit the wall like that, which would make him bleed a lot--the impact is still strange.
The descriptions of 'string of murders' is also interesting, it could imply there weren't that many of them.
I don't think it's possible to put a number on Toga's kills, unless she survives this arc (fingers crossed) and gives the number herself. I'd also like to point out that despite Stain already having an established reputation as the Hero Killer, he doesn't come up at all in the news until the Sports Festival.
tl;dr: it's totally valid to headcanon her as having killed nobody, and it's totally valid to headcanon her as having the biggest bodycount. We simply don't know.

MHA 430, no real spoilers to the ending but I'm also discussing my au ideas under the break too so that's why I tagged spoilers and added the bar, because there's a variety of spoilers.
That was fine I guess, could've been worse... Sad no dfo but I kinda gave up on that being good 10 chapters ago. Insert Thanos I'll do it myself gif.
5.5-6/10.
I'm gonna start my analysis + reread on Saturday I think?
Here's thoughts I already have:
- Reduce amount of students in 1-A. I realized that I can't handle 20+ main characters lol. My original idea was 5, but I've got it down to 10 by fusing characters. Izuku, Aoyama, Uraraka, Shoto, and Bakugo remain the same. I'm going to review the fusions and draw them later...
Fusions:
Sero/Kaminari/Kirishima (Reason: I get them mixed up a lot.)
Iida/Momo/Ojiro (Rich kid + I like Ojiro)
Jiro/Tokoyami/Shoji (Characters with a "dark vibe" ((emo lol)))
Mina/Tsu (I'd feel bad having one and not the other)
Koda/Sato (Honestly they're here because they're the ones I think of when I think "they got shoved aside" as well as Ojiro but I like him more.) ((... Also combine their names and you get Soda....))
Most likely to be cut: Ojiro, Sato, Koda, Sero
Cut: Mineta (Obvious reasons), Hagakure (I couldn't think of anything)
I swear there's logic here but I'm unable to explain it better lol. I'm eepy.
- Bakugo will be expelled from UA in the first arc, perhaps that'll be the conclusion of it. Possibly return in a later arc, I'm thinking the vigilante arc? Minor character. Basically a starter antagonist before the stakes ramp up.
(Results in the same amount of students as OFA users! Which I think is a nice parallel.)
- First arc will be about the class bonding since I really wanted more 1-A bonding scenes. Mainly about them helping each other. (I. E. Izuku opening up about being bullied, the class helping Shoto with the Endeavor situation, etc.) Bakugo's role will be getting in the way of this. Minor antagonist.
- LOV shouldn't be introduced until after a bond is established. Sorry Shiggy my beloved, you must wait.
- All for One dies in Kamino equivalent. (Unsure of how to set this up w/o Bakugo, maybe Midoriya's the one kidnapped?) Sorry AFO I love you so so much, but I'm killing you off. You're op as hell and the kill should be All Might's. You can come back and possess people later if you're good.
- DFO will be there as well as reducing the role AFO played in Shigaraki's backstory. Increase the role in Midoriya's life (negative).
- Aizawa will have a bit of a tweak, he'll be less physically violent with the students. (Less scarf grabby, only in extreme circumstances) Also I think having a lasting injury from the Oboro incident would be a nice touch. Give him a House MD vibe with a cane??? God I fucking loved House. Gay and homophobic, what an icon.
- Eventually I want Endeavor to go to prison or face some form of consequence. Maybe death. I was also thinking about him being tricked into helping AFO out of desperation for that number one spot. Bakugo takes his place for redemption arc?
- I don't really want to kill Midnight off... Or Twice... Or like. Any of the LOV. Need to think about that... But I know Twice's death was very important, so I might have to get over it somehow.
Not saying there won't be death, it just has to make more sense to me.
-
Wrote most of this at 2 am lol so this is probably incoherent. It's not a critique of the series, it's just my idea for the au. Like I get that classes have like 20 people in them. And that characters die. That villains die even if they're children.
I think if I plan this in arcs, I'll have the best chance of finishing it.
#mha leaks#mha manga spoilers#mha au idea#again probably doesn't make sense lol#i guess its less of a rewrite and more of like...#a my hero adjacent series i guess.

Oooh if you read MHA what did you think of the ending ?
Oh man.......... Where do I even start....
For context, I've adored MHA since season 1 of the anime first dropped. It was probably my main fandom for at least five years. The first fic I ever posted to AO3 was an MHA fic. I obsessively kept up with weekly manga leaks, and even helped translate the raw Japanese for friends in discord servers.
It was never a perfectly written manga, and I was fine with that. The writing was on the wall since the Overhaul Arc, where cracks started showing with character bloat, constant sidelining and awful treatment of female characters, and out of control power creep. I think the manga could've been a lot better if Horikoshi wasn't crushed by the brutality of the publishing demands of Shounen Jump. But I thought at its core, the story had a wonderful heart, and that was what kept me in love with it.
I fell out of MHA in around 2021 with the Deku vs Lady Nagant fight, because when she blew up from the AFO failsafe I pretty much rage quit over the fact that every time a woman got to do or be something cool, Horikoshi found a way to rip it away from us. I wasn't really feeling the story anymore, so my love for the manga became overshadowed with my frustration and I decided to move on for awhile (and then my friends got me into DSMP lol). Also the fandom was toxic AF and that was not helping. For instance, I have some criticisms of the overall writing of the Todoroki family plot, but some people chose to interpret every manga panel and line of dialogue in the worst faith imaginable, threw a fit over it every week, and it was just exhausting. The LOV were some of my favorite characters too, but that section of the fandom was a cesspool of negativity sometimes. (Of course, other portions of the fandom had their own issues too, but I wasn't around to see all of it).
I still kept tabs on the story to this day, and while I thought the final arc was heading into a rushed mess, I loved the thematic direction that the story was going in. That Midoriya, Uraraka, and Shouto were going to be better heroes than all that came before them by saving the villains.
Then, uh, we got the most depressing endings imaginable.
I could forgive the flaws of the ending and walk away from the story happy if it hadn't lost its heart along the way. It's just baffling to me that a series that began with the Deku saying "This is the story of how I became the greatest hero" ends with him failing to save the person who needed it the most. Shigaraki is the saddest character in the manga and Deku, our protagonist, who back in the Sports Festival Arc would break all his fingers twice over just to get through to a friend, had to kill him instead of saving him. It's bleak. It's a tragedy. And it makes no sense that we are experiencing this tragedy in the same chapter where somehow Edgeshot of all people survived by becoming a sentient worm on a string. Where Hawks's solution to fix a hero system that enabled domestic abusers to flourish and used assassins to 'keep the peace' is to hand out participation trophies. Like????? Meanwhile 17-year old Toga has to die of blood loss even though Gran Torino gets disemboweled on a monthly basis and Best Jeanist has no lungs. There's also the whole issue of how the story seemed to show that having a clear #1 hero and that responsibility being on one man's shoulders (All Might) was a bad thing. But then the power scaling got so out of control that the same burden was placed on Deku's shoulders 😭😭. I'm just baffled lol. It's so odd that we are flip-flopping between a bleak tragedy/cautionary tale and a cartoonishly simplistic way of looking at the world. Idek, but no matter what I wish the best for Horikoshi's health because I think it's clear that this manga took a huge toll on him.

Dabi accidentally hurts you (Dabi x fem reader) (spoilers for chapter 389 and stuff idk)
This whole latest chapters thing scarred me for life i cried my eyes out i will never truly recover from them so take this wounded dabi stans
Tw: smut, angst, major character death, mentions of suicide
"YOU COULD'VE DIED FOR FUCKS SAKE WHY DID YOU DO IT" Dabi yelled at your face.
Oh, right. His brilliant plan of exploding and killing his whole family along with himself didn't work out as planned. He managed to kill his family but he was still alive. How? Let me tell you:
Hearing the news was absolutely devastating. "Dabi had exploded. He is freezing from the inside right now, he will be dead in a few minutes" was the first thing Shigaraki told you on a call when you were alone in your shared flat with Dabi, recovering from the fatal injury you got in the previous battle. Dabi had told you about his plans before but you didn't think he would actually do it.
There were you, not being able to utter a single word, tears running down your face. Sobbing uncontrollably. Him, your everything had gone, left you alone in this world. You started thinking of going with him. Wait, Shigaraki said he was freezing right now, you wanted to see his body one last time.
There you were again, outside. Somehow you managed to get to the battle place despite your fatal wound that ached with every little move you made. Yes, you had a healing quirk but it didn't work on you, you had to suffer.
You saw his body, Dabi's body. Frozen, his skull showing. You choked on air.
You touched his face delicately, cold, frozen. The man who was able to comfort you no matter what . The man who was always warm due to his quirk, was now cold and lifeless.
You hysterically cried, screamed above his dead body. Kicked the air. Yelled at the dead bodys of his "family members" that he hated so much.
You again leaned over his face. Started showering his lifeless face with kisses. Over and over and over again you kissed his face. He never found beauty in his face, you did, you still found him beautiful in this state of his, dead but pretty.
You cried and kissed him more. Hot tears was straining his face now, your tears, he wouldn't be able to cry even if he was alive.
You wanted him back. More than anything. Oh if he still had a tiny piece of life in his body... Maybe you could have brought him back, it would have most likely killed you since the more fatal the wound is the more energy it takes from your body, but you would give anything for him, that includes your life too.
You smiled into his lifeless face between tears and sobbed before passing out right next to him.
♤ ♤ ♤
You woke up in your flat, on your shared bed. Gods, you had a terrible headache. The first thing you sensed was the smell of Dabi, smoke and parfume. You sat up and looked around for him. Then the previous events dawned on you: Dabi was dead.
You started crying and sobbing again, you had lost him. You couldn't think straight, all you wanted was to be with him but he was gone forever, you were never going to see him ever again.
You didn't hear Dabi walk back to your shared bedroom because of how lost you were and how loud your sobs were. Only when he jumped on you with a tight hug and yelled "Y/N" did you realize his presence. You squeled and tried pulling away to look at his face but he held you in your place where you belonged, right there, where his face was burried in the crook of your neck.
You thought this was a dream at first because you had passed out next to dabi's lifeless body and now you were in your flat and dabi was hugging you, yes, you must be dreaming. You started crying, it was only a dream.
He heard your sobs and felt your small body spasm in his grasp. What was going on?
He pulled away to look at your face, eyes swollen and lip trembling while you were clenching at him like you could lose him any moment.
"Love, what's wrong? You're alive, I couldn't have been happier. Why are you crying?" he asked with an evident concern in his voice, Dabi rarely voiced his emotions like this. This made you cry harder.
"This is just a dream isn't it? You're dead in real life aren't you?" you asked between sobs.
He hugged you again, burrying your face in his chest.
"I'm not. I promise." He wished he was though. Now that he was relieved you're alive, his anger started surfacing in him again. He let go of you.
"I wish I was though." He continued. You were baffled by his words.
"You wha-" he cut you off.
"Y/N YOU COULD'VE DIED FOR FUCKS SAKE. WHY DID YOU DO IT?" the sudden raise in his voice made you jolt on the bed, he had never yelled at you before. You got up to try and explain yourself.
"I-" he cut you off again.
"I THOUGHT YOU WERE DEAD." there was blood leaking out of his burnt tear bags, he was crying. "DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW MISERABLE I FELT..." he grabbed your arm and got closer to your face, his grip was tight. "...THINKING YOU WERE DEAD BECAUSE OF ME?" his grip on your arm was tightening with every word while you bit your lip and tried to hold your tears back. "YOU DIDN'T WAKE UP FOR FOUR DAYS" he sobbed, now his grip was rapidly heating on your arm, he must be having a hard time controlling his emotions. "I COUDLN'T-" his yelling was cut off with a scream of pain that escaped from your throat before you broke down crying. He quickly let go of your arm in horror of what he has done only to see second-degree burns on your skin, he had hurt you, he had hurt you badly.
Your knees collapsed on the ground. This action made the newly decreasing pain of your previous fatal wound ache too.
"Oh Y/N" he whispered with a cracked voice. He... He had hurt you, was a monster.
He knelt down to take a look at your wound, you unconciously flinched at the sight of his reaching hand. It broke his heart to see you scared of him.
"I'm sorry" he whispered and backed away. "I'm so sorry" was the last words he spoke before he left the room, he was going to leave you all by yourself again.
"No, no, no... Don't leave me alone again! *sob* I can't bear it! DABI DON'T LEAVE!" you cried out hysterically. He stopped in his tracks. He imagined how lonely you must've felt when they gave the news to you, the same way he felt when you didn't wake up for days.
He sighed. "You scared the living hell out of me" he said in a barely audible voice.
"I couldn't lose you. When you left me alone... I thought of going with you..." you said. The last part dreaded him. Your suicide, caused by him.
He knelt down once again, but was still scared of scaring you so he was extra delicate with his moves.
He rubbed your upper arms. "Never, ever say that again. Don't be dumb. I can't bear the thought of losing you even if I'm dead."
"Are you angry at me?" you asked with tearful eyes. Please don't be angry at me please.
He sighed. "I never was, I was just so damn worried. I couldn't sleep, I couldn't eat, I couldn't drink, I thought I had lost you, you idiot."
He hugged you tight again, careful not to touch both of your wounds. Even if he had hard time showing it to you sometimes, you were his everything.
He then got up to get the medical equipment to treat your burn. You two were both familiar with injuries so you always had equipments at home.
He himself had a lot of experience with burn wounds, as expected.
He started gently treating your wound. Seeing those large calloused villain hands being oh so gentle with your small form always caused your heart melt. He was so cute like this. All focused on treating you, and not hurting you more during the process.
Once he was done he showed a lazy smile. You looked up at his turquoise eyes and delicately kissed his lips, a small geniune kiss. "Thank you". And that switched something in him, horny bastard.
This time, he started kissing you. Surprisingly gentle, he usually liked it rough, it was almost as if he was scared of breaking you.
He took you into his lap and started planting butterfly kisses on your neck. No hickeys, just feather light kisses, although they were wet.
You could feel his bulge poking against your thighs.
You moaned softly and buried your hands in his white hair, ah his hair was so soft and it smelled like flowers.
He freed one of your breasts and started licking it gently.
He lifted up your dress, he had dressed you like this when he brought you home, his favorite dress with yellow flowers. He slid your panties to the side and started fingering you. Oh you were in heaven. "So pretty" he whispered against your collar bone.
Once he decided you were ready, he withdrew his fingers. You whined at the emptiness. "Patience, princess" he said before giving you a peck on your lips. He unzipped his pants and freed his cock from his boxers, the size never failed to amaze you, how did this thing fit in you?
You lifted yourself up while dabi held you from your waist, being careful with the wound on your stomach.
You slowly took him in. He groaned. You could see how it took everything in him to prevent himself from fucking you senseless right there and now but no. He didn't do that.
He thrusted slowly while holding you in your place. In and out. You moaned loudly.
His speed increased but he never let himself pound into you. He was good at controlling himself. God, you were so pretty.
"You're going nowhere" he said as the both of you were close. He was clenching you for life. "Nowhere, you're staying with me" he said against the crook of your neck.
His pace and the force he used remarkably increased. Your orgasm hit you. He started twitching inside while you came on his dick.
With one last strong thrust he burried himself balls deep inside you and came.
The relatively large man under you trembled and rested his head on your shoulder. You stroked his hair while he simply rested there.
You two truly couldn't survive without each other.

Another Get To Know Me Game!
Tagged by @windsweptinred, this was so much fun to do! Love seeing a new version
Who was your first fictional crush?:
Hmmmm, instinct says Tuxedo Mask! I'm sure I had other fictional crushes but that's the one I most vividly remember. That and Xanatos from Gargoyles djdoaisjdoaij.
What’s the first colour you think of when I tell you to think of a colour?:
Purple!
Which fanfiction emotionally scarred you and still makes you shudder to this day?:
Oh there's...a few lmao. I have a tendency to read fics that horrify me for fun, and since we're on the webbed site that likes to judge people for using the Dead Dove tag, or any of the main Archive Warning tags, I'd rather not put those fics on blast. But I have read some truly brilliantly written and fucked up fics from the Fantastic Beasts fandom, that's all I'll say.
I’m coming to your house for dinner, non-negotiable, what are you making me?:
Japanese curry with chicken! That or Fettucine Alfredo. I like to overstuff my guests with food and those are my two go to meals for company!
Do you prefer lions or kangaroos?:
Lions! I love kangaroos too, but my love for cats, especially big cats, prevails.
Which fictional villain do you brush past the glaringly obvious issues for because you really like them?:
Uhhhh....almost all of them??? jkjkjk
In all seriousness though, I think my big ones I can think of are Shigaraki and Dabi from BNHA. Are they both awful, ruthless people who only want to cause pain and suffering to all who have hurt them? Yes. Do I want them to keep causing even more pain and suffering, even to my favorite hero characters, as a treat? Also yes.
I hate to caveat that in no way do I think any of of their actions are justified and that the villains should win and then the world would be a better place yada yada yada but well. Woobifying villains is a thing and also why I stay out of the fandom because I cannot stand my faves being defanged like that. Let my faves be horrible people aoijdosijad.
What would accompany your picture in the Burn Book in Mean Girls?:
Either the "Mexican Asian" (I'm Filipino-American, and sadly this is a thing I was called a lot lmao) or "The Hugger." I know a shit ton of people judged me a bit in school for being a hugger because...idk, people thought hugs were weird lmao. But joke's on them, I still enjoy hugs and Mr. Seiya hugs me all the time!
How many days would you last in the universe of your favourite fandom?:
Uhhhhhh considering no one really dies in Pokemon...I'd be fine lmao.
In Sandman???? Also would probably be fine since I'm based in the States and also many many miles away from the Corinthian's hunting grounds 🤣
Have you heard of Mischief Theatre?:
Only the name :(
Do you feel sorry for Medusa?:
Yes and no. I do feel bad the foundation of her story was be a woman killed for the glory of a man. And then to be remembered only as a horror, a monster to scare people with.
The modern interpretation of her story is absolutely fascinating to me and while it is still a tragic story, I absolutely love what she's come to represent. I love that her story has been rewritten to be a story of survival, of perseverance, of power even.
Which song makes you think of your OTP?:
Ooooooh there's so many! And of course now that I'm being put on the spot I can't think of any 🤣🤣
Starlight by Muse is definitely a Dreamling song to me, so much so that I wrote a fic with the lyrics in the title, so I'm going to roll with that one!
Which song makes you disassociate and daydream the fastest?:
Oh lord, honestly any Taylor Swift song will do this to me lmao. Lately, I've been drifting back to Would've, Could've, Should've, so we're going to go with that one!
No pressure tagging: @tj-dragonblade @bazzybelle @verminetroglodyte @tryan-a-bex @4typercent and anyone else who wants to play!
