Today is 🖖🏻🚀First Contact Day🚀🖖🏻(RESISTANCE IS FUTILE, & also with you) as you may know, and in a fun coincidence I saw that You Are Good released a podcast episode today about another heartwarming, mid-90’s film starring ✨James Cromwell✨, Babe (1995) - that logically connected these two movies immediately in my brain, which culminated in me making a fast and loose edit that I tweeted out earlier: a mashup of the Star Trek: First Contact (1996) Phoenix launch sequence, & song “If I Had Words” by ✨James Cromwell✨, that he sings during a poignant scene from the children’s classic about a pig.

But, Dear Reader, I was not ready for how hard the combination hits you right in the 😭FEELS😭. This song fits perfectly with the hopeful beauty and overall meaning of Zefram Cochrane’s warp flight and Humanity’s subsequent first contact with the Vulcans- so obviously I had to make a better edit (now with 100% less bottle-fed pig suckling sounds! thanks official soundtrack ), like going back in time to save the world, here’s my second chance. That’ll do, Borg. That’ll do.

I may or may not have listened to the entire Little Shop Of Horrors soundtrack(movie) on repeat for the entirety of my 8 hour shift.

I just can't get enough of it!

And honestly, the merch You Are Good came out with is by far the best I've seen for this movie.

It would be nice to hear from Wanda and Cosmo! It is kind of nice that you guys have two children like your own family does. Are you two still close to your siblings? Wanda has a sibling and Cosmo also have a sibling just like Timmy and Peri. Do they share some sibling stories to your children?

Wanda and Cosmo both reconnected with their siblings shortly after having Peri. Or, well. More like Blonda reentered their lives once she realized she had a baby nephew. Eventually, they slowly patched things up the more Blonda came to visit Peri.

Schnozmo was dragged back kicking and screaming. Mama Cosma refuses to have her sons live estranged lives now that she has a grandchild in the picture. Schnozmo doesn't know how to handle children, but he's doing his best.

Peri likes Schnozmo because he makes silly noises and funny stories. But he prefers Blonda's theatrics much more and loves playing Dress Up with her.

Worlds Beyond Number is wild because Brennan Lee Mulligan uses every ounce of his philosophic and empathetic learnings to create the most heartrending situations and scenes

Then, like an emotional devastation katamari, this fucker picks up THREE whole ass other people like him. Lou Wilson, who will make you cry while you’re in the middle of laughing. Aabria Iyengar, who is a fucking genius and dives full ass into her character’s flaws because your heart will die of a thousand cuts when it all hits. And Erika Ishii. At first blush, a bit of a clown, albeit a sultry one when they want to be. More than happy to play the fool. Lets you underestimate them, so you let them get close, and when you realize how deep you’re in it’s too late

So these FOUR chucklefucks, these four geniuses of humor and tragedy, hire a fucking Maestro of Sound Design in Taylor Moore to produce their home game. And everything is tighter. And even more immersive. And heartwrenching and hilarious and cozy and creepy.

Anyway, this team of FIVE people decide that they’re going to make one of the best podcasts currently airing and it’s only nine episodes in.

something i love about (at least a few of) lou wilson's dnd characters is that they always start out with a fun and interesting concept that would make a great character in its own right

and then lou says, "you know what would be hilarious?" and creates the most devastating, heartbreaking, stress-inducing, tragic backstory for said character
