I dont think anyone will come across this but I have to get it off my chest. I enjoyed Starcrossed a lot,I have a soft spot for fantasy mixed in a real world setting with a queer romance.
Totally up my alley.
But some of the decisions the chracters make baffles me sometimes.
At one point, Rory runs into his shop KNOWING that there is a possibility that the enemy will be waiting for his arrival. But he still goes regardless?? For someone who made a concentrated effort to change his identity and fake his death,he really has poor survival instincts.
I'm not really in love with him and Arthur throwing themselves into suicidal situations as a form of declaring their love for eachother. Is an ex-soldier and a paranoid psychometric really going to enter dangerous situations with no plans and no protection? If it was the exception,I wouldnt mind. But they enter EVERY CONFLICT with that kind of bravado,is a little stressful😂🙂My real gripe is the introduction of Mr. Hyde. At one point near the end,he slashes Arthur with his claws(ripping his tuxedo) and digs his nails into his neck, drawing blood from both injuries, but it is never mentioned again! Rory doesn't mention it,when they return to land, the police don't mention it. Shoot even when they rent a room at a hotel the concierge doesnt mention it. What happened to his injuries??? He was walking about with a bloody ripped shirt and no body noticed??
I know this just sound like I'm hating on the book, but regardless of some of these flaws there are real tender and beautiful moments. And I'm loving the world building and the interesting take on magic. Despite my gripping,I actually am enjoying myself. I just hope the third book confronts more of Arthur's trauma and we get more time talking about Hyde because woof, this man was scary.
Overall, pretty decent, but I am more inclined to The Last Binding series by Freya Marske.

There’s been so much hype for Nosferatu and confusion over his facial hair, that I had to draw some Novel Dracula and his very canonical mustache. The description of him post-feed, bloated, leech-like in his coffin….golly, still haunts me to this day. I imagine him being very animalistic…with the boyar fur coats giving him a hairy, tarantula/wolf appearance. Maybe his mouth is always a little open…and I just know that guy smells so bad. He’s hardly the debonair Bela-type he’s become.
Anyway, this was fun…I’m snowed in this weekend, so I plan to draw as much as I can <3

im convinced that the cast of Nosferatu has a running joke about the rats on set because every time its brought up in an interview, the number of rats increases by a couple thousand
