ONE THREE SIX TEN AND FIFTEEN but you're only allowed to talk about Agatha
oh no oh what a hardship
1 Song of the year?
ha ha ha ha haaaa oh man i have listened to "the ballad of the witches' road" so many times. you know how many times! but i refuse to admit the actual number in public. and uhhhh i still have it on repeat? at least when i go outside. i listen almost exclusively to the ep 4 rock'n'roll version and i just love it. i especially love how rough agatha's voice is. and i think a lot, still, about how well the lyrics map to agatha and rio.
3. Favorite musical artist / group you started listening to this year?
lollll hey guess what! it's kathryn hahn, patti lupone, sasheer zamata, ali ahn, and joe locke! things what i love about them: how well their voices blend; patti refusing to sing anything other than the high notes but modulating her voice to everyone else's; the way they manage to make each version of the ballad emotionally distinct. truly it's ridiculous how much i've listened to them.
6. Episode of tv or webisode that defined the year for you?
ahhhhh you know what, i can't believe it's not agatha ep 4, but it's actually agatha ep 7? WHAT AN EPISODE. that is why you cast patti fucking lupone!!! my post about the ep is still slowly racking up notes almost every day and i still stand behind it. the ep totally inverted our expectations, a great trick made better by being a non-linear narrative. that we all, including lilia herself, had to be reminded to value her experience and knowledge just broke me. the lines 'i'm a forgotten woman!' / 'so remember yourself' are frankly fucking iconic. and 'i loved being a witch' STILL chokes me up. oh, and watching lilia and jen get along? and lilia's history! and i'm not even TOUCHING on AGATHA this ep. 'i like the bad boys'? (side note: the other thing in the french subs that i loved was translating that as 'je les aime vilaines.' OKAY DYKE.) dressed like THEEE wicked witch of the west? and the start of the ep has the most incredible series of exchanges with her and billy. as i mentioned... still not over the whole overt queer mentorship analogy! god damn. god damn!! what a fucking show!
10. Something that made you cry this year?
stoppppppp!!! the entire show. agatha's face. 'sometimes, boys die.' marvel fucking using 'you want straight answers, ask a straight lady' as part of their social media promo. marvel posting fucking agatha/rio edits on their tiktok! half of what i mention about ep 7 above. 'please, my love.' looking back at wandavision with all the knowledge we have about agatha now. how much kathryn hahn loves agatha. 'you i made from scratch.' (this show gave me feels about a kid? like! fuck! how!) rio's face (also cannot believe i have an aubrey plaza problem now). the kiss.
15. What’s a bad habit you picked up this year?
sending people endless pics of kathryn hahn all day long so we can commiserate about how incredibly gay she makes us feel. wait, no, that's a great habit. how else can i be sure that in these trying times, i am maintaining an appropriate level of queerness? no, my bad habit is not having enough time to write agatha fic. yep. also maybe watching endless kathryn hahn podasts even though i hate podcasts. but mostly the fic thing.

Okay this is very off brand for this blog but it's the biggest following I have and I really want to spread the word about this so
The Edge Of Sleep is a live action adaptation of a fictional podast (available on Spotify). It's horror, psychological drama, End-of-the-World insanity, and it's one of my favorite pieces of media.
This show was announced YEARS ago and we only just recently found out it would be coming out this week. But we were not told WHERE it would come out, just when. And now, with no advertising whatsoever, it was just randomly dropped on Amazon Prime, days before the official release date, and only in the US.
Please watch this show. The original podcast is great and I am very excited to see how the show interprets it. And if we can get it up to a top 10 spot, it will help release Markiplier's new movie, Iron Lung, based on an indie horror game of the same name.
Fuck it, here is the full The Edge Of Sleep trailer what got leaked back in February. If they don't post it, then leaked it is. If they do, great, late but great. And yes, this is legit one. This was also New Regency website before they took it down. Also 7 days until The Edge Of sleep release.

If you had to place a character from one show/podast/etc into another, which character and content would you pick?
I think I'd either put all the Smart Boys™️ from detective shows together, see how effective they'd be, or put The Interviewer from The Amelia Podcast into the WTNV universe. I think both options would be quite interesting, with the latter being my favorite of the two :).
#Tbh WTNV/TAP would be... Quite the crossover#I dont think I should tag the podcasts in this one haha cause it's not exactly about them

also wooden overcoats!
(I just did TMA on another ask, so going directly with this!)
Wooden Overcoats:
Favorite character: Sorry, I’m…it’s Chapman, I can’t fight it, he’s sO GOOD I LOVE HI-
Second favorite character: You’re putting a knife to my throat with this, I literally love everyone so much and it changes with each episode. Rudyard, I guess?
Least favorite character: Everyone’s fun, I don’t know…Marjorie? Just to say someone.
The character I’m most like: Damn, I don’t know…someone do a quiz! (Maybe…Antigone? I’m not that goth, but I am a bit horny sometimes).
Favorite pairing: I’m gonna say Desmond/Nigel because they’re my DADS I love them so much they’re so happy.
Least favorite pairing: (Shrugs) I don’t really ship much in WO? I guess I don’t really go for Ch4py4rd…
Favorite moment: GOD, there are so many cool moments. The episode where Antigone and Eric get stuck in the mine is so good and made me feel so many things, and I also remember the At Home In The Dark Funn Fragment hitting very hard. But also, Eric losing his mind is hilarious.
Rating out of 10: LISTEN TO THIS PODCAST Y’ALL LOVE PODASTS AND BRITS AND PODCAST BRITS C’MON DO IT
Send me a series and I’ll answer these questions!

Long Ride
Friday was a 45 mile training ride. Since it was raining outside, I decided to use the Lance Armstrong bike down in my apartment building. It has rolling hills, various climbs, flat roads, and CG people even. It’s not my favorite but I threw on a podast from Eric Schwartz (Triathlete Training Podcast http://triathletetraining.com/).
On this ride, I tested Hammer Gels. They are organic gels, which I generally prefer to use on the course. Race day, they will have Cliff throughout. Honestly, they tasted like crap but didn’t hurt my stomach. Good to know, but I think I will stick with Stinger Gels. They taste great and have a variety of flavors. I’m hoping I can find a peanut butter version. Otherwise, I’ve also been testing and incorporating Cliff into my rides so that I can make sure my body is used to them come race day.
Here’s what I ate Friday, including my ride nutrition:
1 Vega Bar Pre-ride
2 Hammer Gels (every half hour)
(2) 32oz of water every hour with 1 nuun tablet in each (360mg of sodium)
Coffee w/almond milk
2 eggs w/ 2 pieces of ezekeiel bread (I recently bought and LOVE this stuff)
Trader Joe’s Chopped Veggie Mix with 3oz of chicken
3 tbs of homemade cashew butter (FAV)
1 dirty vodka martini & 2 glasses of malbec (celebrating Erica’s baby shower!)
Taco bake (ground beef, beans, cheese, corn) southwest salad & tortilla chips
Generally I try to eat a little healthier than this, especially at dinner. But I’ve learned over the years that ya gotta live a little when celebrating with family...and when you burn 3,000+ calories in the am. :)

Fun fact: I, the cohost of the most comprehensive Star Trek podast ever produced, did watch Past Tense as a standalone - the first DS9 I ever watched.
I hated the experience so much that I wrote DS9 off as “not for me” for another year or so. (It eventually became - and remains - my favorite Trek series.)
Obviously your own mileage may vary.
By the way, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine’s “Past Tense” (which takes place tomorrow) can be watched as a standalone. You don’t need to be familiar with the show or the characters to follow along. It’s also a really, really good (double) episode.
