UPDATES ON MY TMNT AU THING
ok, so, first of all, im renaming it to the Revolution AU for reasons that will be made clear l8r. YES, im still making the songs. No, you will not be hearing them any of them soon, due to the fact im working with my voice, memorising the tunes, and writing the lyrics down in a notebook that is currently falling apart.
second of all: my art has improved since i have last posted. im trying to get to a place where i can use a camera and post things, but im figuring it out.
so, i figure i should tell you about the characters i have SO FAR (besides the brothers and splinter). remember, this is subject to change.
April O'Neil: has wanted to be a journalist since she can remember, but she wants to be behind the scenes. she has stage fright something awful, and can hardly speak when looking into a camera. this, however, doesnt stop her from shooting proof that mutants are NOT dangerous; she'll do anything to help out the boys that have become her family. she always has a kind thing to say, and can always find the silver lining.
Irma Sanchez: shes the opposite of April in most ways. Irma always has a sassy remark, and is never short of witty comebacks. she wants to be on camera, she wants to be the face of the news. having grown up with 5 other siblings, she's had to share the spotlight all her life, and she'll be damned if she has to share it on her job.
Baxter Stockman JR: he takes after his dad, Baxter Stockman SR, in many ways. he loves to invent, he always has to know what makes things tick, and most of all, he loves breaking the law. but Jr's way of doing it is just sneaking into junkyard for old microwaves and scrap metal, and Sr's way of breaking the law is conspiring with aliens from another dimension. Jr, unaware of his dads unlawful activities, wants so badly to impress him, but it just seem like his dad simply doesn't care.
Casey Jones: have grown up on a reserve all his life, then suddenly having to move to the big city has been hard on the poor kid. he just can't seem to stop getting into fights, his grades are simply awful, and his temper is short. but by GOD, does he love his mama. he needs a better way to let out his anger, and hockey doesnt seem to be cutting it. he cant get into another school fights, so he takes his anger to the streets fighting crime with hockey sticks and pucks.
Renet: from an awful future where the Kraang take over the earth. Renet was engineered to be beautiful, softspoken, and harmless, to easily manipulate people and mutants to surrender to the Kraang. but they made a grave error: they made her intellegent enough to know that what she does is wrong. so with the help of a very, very old mutant turtle named Lita, she is sent back in time to prevent this future. she faces a major problem though; the chip in her brain makes her blind when she disobeys the Kraang. she has to learn to fight, teach people to fight the Kraang, and help lead the revolution while learning to be blind.
Karai: all her life, she has been taught that her real father, Hamato Yoshi, killed her mother, Tang Shen, and would have killed her too if not for the heroic rescue from The Shredder, the man who raised her. now, she has to put aside everything she knows and has been taught to team up with the Hamato clan, and save the world- then change it for the better afterwards.

There's always a blessing waiting in the wings, and as...
After Eyes of Heaven events...
Synopsis: In a present that was different, different choices were made, and so a different future is ahead.
Warnings: Spoilers of Eyes of Heaven, Canon divergence, character's death, the so called "good ending" (If you find my tears it's because, for me, this is how it all ended in the real show, I will die on this hill).
.
It was like a bad joke.
"Look out!"
It should be, there was no other way, but even with all the water pouring from the ceiling did the star shaped birthmark changed, remaining the same as you remembered it, on the times that you touched with your fingers, Yoshikage would smile when you asked yet again if it was a tattoo, it was hard to believe that such a perfect shape was with him since the moment that he was in the womb, he chuckled, taking your hand in his and kissing them and every scar that he found.
"Officer, are you okay?!" The desperation on the young man's voice was evident, the first time that you crossed paths with him he was rather calm, now he was exalted, it was understandable, you were almost killed by someone that was asking about Yoshikage and some kind of fruit that you didn't even recognize the name.
"Josuke, we need to get out of here!" There was a girl, pink hair, she was trying to help you, in which moment did you got on the floor? Since when were you bleeding? Was that a bullet injury?
"Bastards!"
The girl took you out of there, barely, and the house was then exploded with bubbles, your attacker inside, walking calmly from all the destruction was the young boy, Josuke, now you knew his name.
"Are you part of the Kira family?" Asking right at the moment, looking him directly at his eyes, now you linked that color to the person that you love, maybe he would know, maybe he knew what happened with your Yoshi.
Josuke looked at you, he looked like he was on the verge, his eyes full of tears.
"I'm sorry" he said, trying to approach you, his hands in your direction, and you really understand shit when he hugged you, the pink girl also crying.
You also cried when he told you what he knew till that moment.
"So, do you remember?" Your voice was calm but also intense, Yasuho felt the pressure in the room, she was tense since you took with your bare hands the bullet in your leg, using your Stand to close it with fire, the smoke and the smell of burned meat almost made her puke, and now you were looking at Josuke with such intensity.
This was difficult, she was sure of it, after the death of Yoshikage Kira and Josuke's "birth" you were left in the nothing, waiting for your fiance to return home when he just got missing and then finally with the notice that someone found his body.
And then you found Josuke on your way, telling you without much care what he was, or at least what they knew.
You looked at him and then at her, and Yasuho felt bad for a moment, she likes Josuke, and he was, in part, a taken man.
Josuke wanted to say other things but Yasuho stopped him, he already bombarded you with too much information already, you were a grieving person, he was overwhelming you!
Then you just sighed.
"I think... No, I get it" that was fast! "Yoshi..." Josuke flinched when he heard the loving nickname, "Yoshikage would really go all out for his mother, especially since her disease started" your gloomy figure changed, your darkened eyes showing some light after so long before returning to the murderous aura, "Did you kill the culprit? Did you kill all their organization?"
Yasuho was startled by your question.
"I'm working on it" and then she almost gasped when she heard Josuke.
"Good" you were exhausted in so many ways, "you're a good kid, Josuke" he felt weird hearing his name from you, then he and Yasuho were startled when you put yourself in your own feet and started walking to the door.
"Officer" he called out to you, maybe for the last time, he wasn't sure, "please, take care" he bowed to you, Josuke saw that you stopped walking, "please, live a happy life" he said it from the memories of the half of his body, Yoshikage Kira, and also as himself, Josuke Higashikata, because you were a good person, and he wished you the best, "please, be as happy as you can"
He wasn't sure, but maybe Yoshikage Kira would have wished you the same.
You looked over your shoulder, he couldn't see your eyes, you adjusted your military cap, you were saying goodbye in your own way.
This was better, he thought, he didn't want to be the reason of your tears anymore.
"You too" soft words, a great contrast from your aura, you thought of him and the little pink girl, damn, those two kiddos made you remember when you and Yoshikage were young, "take care, Josuke Higashikata, if you need me, don't think twice and contact me" you throw a little paper ball with your number in it and then you were gone.
"I'm happy that we could talk to them" Yasuho was happy that both could end this on a good note, but then Josuke was with his knees on the floor, "Josuke-kun! Are you fine?" He finally let loose all the tears that were coming from the half of his eyes, he tried to stop them and after a while he could talk normally.
"Yeah, I'm fine Yasuho-chan"
Until he crossed your path again he hoped that you would be already the happiest person alive.

Game Grumps Live - Asbury Park, NJ - 8/24/19
Game Grumps Live:
Left to Jersey 9:30-ish
Got to Jersey by 2PM.
Had lunch at Wendys – terrible bathroom, great food.  Checked in at Inn afterwards, but did a check of the Stone Pony Summer Stage to see how it looked.  Chilled at the room until a little before 5PM.
Was dropped off and got in line.  At the time, it had almost completely circled around the whole area (building and outdoor stage).  Doors opened a little before 6 because the line soon went all the way around TWICE. Talked with the guys and ladies in line and made friends with them.  There were folks as Danny Sexbang, Arina, and Daniella.  Got in around 615-ish.  Got water and waited over an hour in line for the merch table.
A ‘burgie’ chant started up at one point.  Lots of awesome music played – Rush, Queen, etc.
There was a chopper circling around and many of us joked that Dan and Arin would make an entrance from it.  Cheers always happened when someone came on-stage, one point tossing water into the audience.
Got shirt and poster and left my drawings at the table.  Then hit the bathroom.  By this time it was 740-ish and the screen suddenly pulled up the Wii-U main menu.  A voice came on and started to hype the crowd that the show will be starting a few minutes later.  By this time, the sun was setting and nearly gone.
Show started around 8 with Vernon coming on-stage to hype the crowd.  He notes that this was the biggest Game Grumps Live ever – 4 thousand fans.  To prep everyone, a fan – Chris – is brought up from the audience to play Super Mario Bros world 1-1 blindfolded.  Chaos ensues, but Chris ended up beating it after two game overs and on the last life of attempt 3.
Afterwards, Vernon joked that he was out there stalling for time due to Arin pooping and joked about making an attempt of standup comedy.  Before he leaves, he gives some homework to everyone: make a new friend at the show – it’s easy.  He also tells everyone to be kind and tells everyone to get loud and do the theme song. V: Hey, I’m grump. Us: I’M NOT SO GRUMP!  AND WE’RE THE GAME GRUMPS!
Coming out to music (Pour Some Sugar On Me) Arin and Dan ate up the applause. Dan was extra-hyped due to the show not only being the first outdoor show, but also in his birth state of New Jersey.  “Welcome Home” chants ensue.  There’s also a joke from Dan about how Arin would make cracks at live shows about the place they’re doing it, but Arin refused to do one due to fears of being beat up by Jersey folks.
Game time – Mario Party 10!  Dan was Yoshi and Arin was Peach.  The crowd was split into two sides – side one was Player 3, Waluigi and side two, my side, was Player 4, Toad.  We were given chants to shout out (“Wa-Lu-Igi!”/”Go Toad!  Go Toad!”)
Danny: (after giving each team their chants) I’m drunk with power!
To compensate for Player 3 and 4’s rolls, Arin would do that.  When Dan told the crowd to boo Arin when he rolled wrong, the crowd started to boo anyway.
Arin: Don’t boo yet!
Dan: Your Jersey hate is like vitamins(?) to me!
For Mini-games, someone to represent for each player team would come up onstage to play alongside Dan and Arin.  Mini-game 1 had Jonathon for team Waluigi and Devon for Team Toad.  When asked for something to get their respected teams hyped up, they said “Waaaaa” and “We’re the video game boys” (Us: We’re the ones who win!)  The game was a memory-esq game, which was gonna be bad for Dan (because of the weed he smoked in the 90’s killing his memory) and Arin (because he’s “an idiot”, in his words).  The game was intense with Jonathon winning.  This was when Dan noticed that, for some odd reason, Waluigi had ‘boob physics’.
Mini-game two came soon with Marcus (wearing a Dream Daddy T-shirt) and Kirsten (wearing the sexy Sonic costume) for Team Waluigi and Team toad respectively. The question asked, by Arin, was which sandwich is the favorite – Dan jokingly said that was the stupidest question ever asked… then asked “same question” for the other player (something similar happened later) and it was Tuna Melt VS BLT.  We were also asked to do a giant Golf Clap during the mini-game shenanigans.
The post-Golf clap comment from Dan: You have given Daddy the ASRM tingles.
Daddy Chants ensued.  Dan would do another “Daddy” comment shortly afterwards – “So many stars for Daddy”.
When it was time for the third Mini-game of the night, Dan and Arin noticed some cool stuff in the crowd – A “Bienvenue Power Bottoms” sign and a “Burgie” paper craft being held up.  Player 3 and Player 4 were Divan and Chris, who was dressed like Danny Sexbang, and their question was to say something to badmouth the opposing team.  Divan’s was “Boo, Toad, you suck!” while Chris was “This is why you weren’t in Smash!”  Burn comments ensue.  Mini-game turned out to be a three on one battle… everyone vs Arin.
Dan: It’s New Jersey VS Arin!
Arin eventually won that game and during and after the game, there was a “Fuck You, Arin” chant from everyone.  Dan “OK! OK!  Hang on!  Hang on! Hang on!  Don’t get me wrong… I love it…,” but he asked if they should do “Heck you, Arin” but decided nope and let the crowd continue.  He then joked about how the folks on the boardwalk were probably wondering what the hell’s going on at the show.
Mini-game four was with Erid and a tall guy named Roger.  Dan also noted that his dad, Avi, was in the audience.  I began to chant “Avi” and pretty soon a large chant for “AVI” started.  Team Toad/Roger won the mini game.
Mini-game five was Bowser related with a lot of stars up for grabs.  Both players were ladies – a female Danny who, like Dan, was Jewish, from Jersey, favorite color was light blue, and loved dinosaurs, and Renee, who had an LED helmet and had apparently been there since 6AM.  There were 6AM chants for her.  Dan noted that he smelt weed in the audience, which I thought was a stupid thing to go.  Dan then picked the wrong mini-game chosen for that round.  His reasoning for the screw up? “I HAVE GIANT THUMBS!”  Team Toad won that round again.
Final mini-game was up and it was Sophie and Bethany as players 3 and 4.  They were asked to say something to hype their teams.  Sophie said “Mycaruba” (a old-school Game Grumps joke) while Bethany’s was “We got this, dude!”  Team 3 won and the finally tally was Waluigi/Team 3 victory.
For the last bit of the show was a Q and A with the audience.  Ground rules were laid out: No selfies, no hugs, not songs, and you can’t touch Dan’s hair… so Dan touched his hair for us.
Q: Favorite Cartoon Network cartoon? A: from Dan, it was Aqua team Hunger Force and, since it was aired on CN, Starlight Brigade music video while for Arin, it was “Mighty Magisword”, which he worked on.
Q: Favorite game they got into via Grumps? A: Dan went with House Party while Arin couldn’t think of one.  They hyped the new version that was going to include them as characters coming soon.
Q: for Arin, favorite voice to do around the office? A: the Grubba voice and the “Ball-sniffing adventure” one.
Q: A request for some more Snipperclips, which they would love to do.
Q: For Arin, it was about the frequency of his pooping and asking the “Yum to Dump” ratio.
A: Arin talked about a incident from eating at Whataburger.  He pulled off at an exit and ate a burger from Whataburger. Got back on the interstate… and pulled over at the next exit to do a 2 at that exit’s Whataburger.
I think I’m gonna avoid Whataburger…. Q: Can Claud come back? (I have no idea who Claud was, but they want him to come back.  I think they meant “Claudio Sanchez”, who had appeared on Guest Grumps.)
Q: For Arin, favorite 3D Zelda game? A: first game he said was “A Link Between Worlds”.  When asked for a second, he picked “Wind Waker”.  Good choice.
Q: A request for more Dog Island and Princef Taaanx.
The next question was right by me and I managed to get two pictures of Vernon, who was out in the crowd getting the questions from the crowd.  I thanked Vernon for the second one, which he smiled for. Before the question was asked, there were some “Furry” jokes and Dan went into a long rant about being a Furry in reference to the running gag about him being one.  The question was about Starbomb and hopes for new stuff in relation to it.  Dan and Arin threw around some possibilities like a boxed set for the CD’s/vinyls.
Q: What’s gonna be the new format for live shows.  They have no idea.
Q: An offer to do later framing for CDs/Vinyls/etc.
Q: for Danny, since he and the asker are from Jersey, is it Pork Rolls or Taylor Ham? Dan picked Taylor ham, prompting booos.
Q: the original asker game his question op to his friend, who asked since they looked alike and had similar likes, does Dan know who the doctor was that cloned the two of them?
Dan thinks it was Def Leppard’s lead singer Joe Elliot (?)
The last question: "the band bowling for soup...are they bowling to receive soup or are they bowling on behalf of soup?"  Dan thinks they’re bowling on behalf of soup while Arin thinks it’s the former.
To end the show off, Dan notes this show meant a lot for him since it’s in Jersey and the best night.  “Danny”/”Jersey” chants.  Dan and Arin thanked everyone and left with a message: They don’t care what your race/religion/gender/political stance/etc. is, they love us.
Show ended a little around 950 and I got my ride back to the Inn to chill.
Pictures to come later

You probably have heard by now that DC has killed DC Zoom, DC Ink and Vertigo imprints to consolidate publishing and replace imprints with separate age categories - DC Young Adult and DC Middle Grade being apparently just name changes for Ink and Zoom respectively, with Black Label remaining as their adult-oriented line and DC Universe being the main line still.
Some of things it means:
NO BOOK IS BEING CANCELLED
All Sandman Universe titles will continue under DC Black Label line. The Dreaming, House of Whispers, Books of Magic and Lucifer will keep going, just not under Vertigo label.

DC Middle Grade will still publishBatman: Overdrive, Batman Tales: Once Upon a Crime, Diana: Princess of the Amazins and Green Lantern: Legacy in 2020 and will publish Superman Smashes the Klan in future
In fact, they have announced more titles for Middle-Grade books, including:

Amethyst: Princess of Gemworld – Written by Shannon and Dean Hale
ArkhaManiacs – Written by Art Baltazar and Franco and illustrated by Art Baltazar (April 2020)
Batman and Robin…and Howard – Written and illustrated by Jeffrey Brown

Future DC Young Adult titles include books announced for 2020 - Gotham High, The Oracle Code, Shadow of the Batgirl, Lost Carnival: a Dick Grayson Graphic Novel and Wonder Woman: Warbringer - as well as already announced Teen Titans: Beast Boy and Wonder Woman: Tempest Tossed.
There is also a large number of NEW books in Young Adult line, including:
Catwoman: Soulstealer – Adapted by Louise Simonson from Sarah J. Maas’ DC Icon prose novel and illustrated by Samantha Dodge
Galaxy: The Prettiest Star – Written by Jadzia Axelrod and illustrated by Cait Zellers
Galaxy: The Prettiest Star – Written by Jadzia Axelrod and illustrated by Cait Zellers
House of El Book 1 – Written by Claudia Gray and illustrated by Eric Zawadzki
I Am Not Starfire—Written by Mariko Tamaki
Mister Miracle – Written by Varian Johnson
Nubia – Written by L.L. McKinney and illustrated by Robyn Smith
Swamp Thing – Written by Maggie Stiefvater and illustrated by Morgan Beem
Victor & Nora: A Mr. Freeze Story – Written by Lauren Myracle and illustrated by Isaac Goodhart
Whistle – Written by E. Lockhart and illustrated by Manuel Preitano
You Brought Me the Ocean – Written by Alex Sanchez and illustrated by Julie Maroh
Zatanna: The Jewel of Gravesend – Written by Alys Arden and illustrated by Jacquelin De Leon
Now, another matter entirely is what it means for Vertigo books. Black Label is a good initiative even if so far it has produced BatPenis and Republican Superman. However, the line was advertised as “ biggest creators and biggest characters” for adult-oriented stories. This is not what Vertigo was. Vertigo was always a publisher who was not afraid of taking risks and pushing the envelope, it changed comics in ways we still feel and changed them for the better. Books like Sandman, Hellblazer, Lucifer, Transmetropolitan, Fables, Shade the Changing Man are among the greatest titles of American comics and left a huge mark on the millions of fans and creators. Black Label is right now criticized for being too Batman-centric for its own good.
It is an end of an era but not one we didn’t see coming. The writing was on the wall since DC fired Karen Beger and took classic Vertigo characters like John Constantine and Swamp Thing and forced them back into the main DC line as a part of New 52. Vertigo never recovered from that hit. Ironically I suspect now Young Animal books will fall under Black Label. Including Doom Patrol, one of titles DC took away from Vertigo in the first place.

New Post has been published on https://www.freenews.today/2021/04/18/is-the-new-york-yankees-rough-weekend-an-omen-of-things-to-come/
Is the New York Yankees' rough weekend an omen of things to come?
Tumblr media
It was a disastrous weekend at Yankee Stadium for the men in pinstripes.
In a boo-filled 8-2 loss on Friday to the Tampa Bay Rays, fans littered the field with baseballs and other objects in the eighth inning, creating a short delay. On Saturday, the New York Yankees couldn’t solve Tyler Glasnow, and the Rays won 6-3. On Sunday, the fans even jeered Gerrit Cole when he walked off the mound after giving up a go-ahead double in the seventh inning to a struggling Yoshi Tsutsugo; the Rays won 4-2, and the Yankees left the field to another chorus of boos, rather than “New York, New York.”
First, give credit to Tampa Bay. The Rays are now 5-1 against the Yankees in 2021, after going 8-2 against them last season, plus a victory in the American League Division Series. Including that series, the Rays have now won seven series in a row against the Yankees, going back to their final showdown of 2019.
The Yankees’ current problems go beyond the Rays just having their number, however. The Yankees own the worst record in the American League at 5-10, which is the most games into a season they’ve had the league’s worst record since starting 9-17 in 1991. While the general rule in baseball is not to overreact to the first few weeks of the season — as a reminder, the last time the Yankees started 5-10 was in 1997, and they ended up finishing 96-66 and making the playoffs — you can look for patterns. It has to be concerning that the Yankees have struggled in the rotation, on defense and at the plate.
–The rotation woes have been documented. The starters have a 4.74 ERA; take out Cole and it balloons to 6.39. Mind you, Cole has started four of the team’s 15 games or 27%. The ratio will drop to about 20% by season’s end, assuming he starts 33 of 162.

–The current up-the-middle alignment of catcher Gary Sanchez, middle infielders Gleyber Torres and Rougned Odor and center fielder Aaron Hicks does not feel like a championship-level defense. The Yankees can work around that a little bit when Kyle Higashioka catches and eventually when DJ LeMahieu goes back to second base after Luke Voit returns.
–The big surprise is an offense hitting just .210/.296/.346. It’s the lowest batting average for the Yankees through 15 games since 1968 and the lowest OPS through 15 games since 1973. Power is supposed to be the team’s strength, but their opponents have more home runs (21 to 16) and more doubles (22 to 19).
The slow start prompted an apparent dressing down from manager Aaron Boone following Friday’s loss. Asked about it after the game, Boone said, “That’s for in there.”
But outfielder Clint Frazier said, “He’s so chill that when he does address us, everyone should listen.”
Frazier said they would come out ready on Saturday; instead, the Yankees have now run their losing streak to five in a row.
“I’m frustrated, personally frustrated,” said LeMahieu, the 2020 AL batting champ who is hitting .288 with one home run. “No one’s going to feel sorry for us. No one’s going to throw softer or throw easier for us. We’ve got to find it within ourselves to continue to get better and play the way we’re capable of.”
While LeMahieu concluded the team was “tight and pressing,” Cole seemed to take things a little more in stride, saying, “You play this game long enough, you’re going to go through some crap. Gotta put your boots on and wade through the mud.”
Indeed, the 1997 Yankees are case in point. After that 5-10 start, they won eight of their next 10 to climb back over .500 before the end of April. Going back to 1996, here are the five best records from teams that started 5-10 or worse, courtesy of ESPN Stats & Information:
2001 A’s: 102-60 (started 4-11)
2002 Angels: 99-63 (started 5-10)
2000 Giants: 97-65 (started 4-11)
2018 A’s: 97-65 (started 5-10)
1997 Yankees: 96-66 (started 5-10)
On the other hand … a lot more bad teams start 5-10, as you would expect. I looked at all teams that started exactly 5-10 from 1996 through 2019, with 62 teams all told. Their final average record was 73-89. Besides the three such teams listed above, only four others would win 90 games: the 2013 Indians (92-70) and Rays (92-71), the 2011 Red Sox (90-72) and the 2009 Rockies (92-70).
This Yankees team reminds me a little bit of the 2019 Boston Red Sox. Coming off a World Series title, that Red Sox squad got off to a sluggish start, 5-10 through 15 games and 9-15 through 24. In a sense, Boston never recovered from the slow start, falling seven games out of first place at the end of April and never getting closer than three games out of first the rest of the way, before finishing 84-78.
The Yankees are tied with the Rangers for the lowest OPS in the majors at .642. I’m confident the Yankees will not be in that position at season’s end. Giancarlo Stanton, Frazier, Torres and Hicks are all hitting under .200. Getting Voit, the 2020 major league home run lead back, will help.
Torres is the hard one to figure out, after he hit 38 home runs in 2019 at age 22 and looked like a future star. He actually has improved his chase rate in both 2020 (from 31.3% to 20.1%) and again in 2021 (to 13.9%), and usually, better plate discipline leads to better numbers; instead, he is sitting there with zero home runs and one RBI. Maybe a more aggressive approach — he swung at the first pitch more often in 2019 — works better for him.
Anyway, it’s 15 games into a very long season. Yankees fans are calling for Boone to be fired. Columnists are joking that Jay Bruce shouldn’t have retired because he might have hit cleanup this week if Boone looked to shake things up. Twitter is filled with comments like, “The Yankees are 5-10, but they seem worse” and “I’ve been waiting literally my entire life for one bad Yankees season.”
Put this in your back pocket: The last time the Yankees had a losing season was 1992.
(And in mentioning that, it’s now a lock the Yankees win 12 of 14 and move into first place on May 4. Thank me later, Yankees fans.)
