Hello everyone, it is my pleasure to announce that the first two introductory chapters of my Revolution Radio AU are officially up on AO3!

Summary: A mysterious radio station starts broadcasting in New York in 2004, seemingly solely for the entertainment of its only host. As time goes on, though, the station amasses a small audience as new hosts and guests are introduced, and the listeners start to uncover the mystery of this odd late-night broadcast.

At a similar time, a singular New Yorker finally decides to ask if anyone else has ever seen a massive ninja turtle on the rooftop of their apartment building. Well, not giant like.. Godzilla–sized, just the size of a human? A short one even. But definitely too big for a normal turtle.

Through a series of transcripts and facebook comments, we watch as two different groups separately come closer and closer to revealing that a family of mutant ninjas lives in their sewers.

to be honest i just looked up words that were synonymous with change. i chose revolution since it could be interpreted as “revolt” or “revolve”. will you break the cycle or continue it?

using Raph as a baseline, since he’s the youngest. ages for when the story would start

Raph is 14 years old, Donnie 14 years and 10 months, Venus is 15 years and 8 months, Leo and Mikey are 16 years and 4 months. guess which twin is older

what are the turtles’ genders?

Raph is bigender, he/she. Donnie is demigender, it/they/he. Venus is agender, she/they. Mikey is genderfluid, he/she/they/it alternating

Leo is going to be a trans girl, but it’s going to be a later realization. Leo does identify with being a boy for the majority of her life, so if i’m talking about Leo prior to the egg-cracking it will be with he/him. after the egg-cracking Leo will be using exclusively she/her

+ bonus others! Splinter is pretty pronoun apathetic but since everyone at the lab would use he/him or it/its those are the ones it’s most used to and therefore most comfortable with. Casey is a turigirl, static gender but changing pronouns (he/him some days, she/her others, sometimes both). April does not care whatsoever, so she/her is the default except for when it’s funny or convenient. Renet is genderqueer probably, uses zi/zir and ae/aer. Irma is a cis girl, she/her. Timothy is a trans boy, he/him

what is karais relationship like with the turtles?

this is the one i had the most trouble putting into words. at the start, karai acted pretty antagonistic towards them. it was kinda her job. i want her to be like 03 karai before she gets mutated, where she’s flip-flopping back and forth between her sense of honor and her loyalty to her father. in revolution, it’s venus that insists on giving karai another chance instead of leo. they know what it’s like to be torn between morality and loyalty. after getting mutated, karai and the turtles eventually start getting along for more than a few hours. i want them to be friends by the end of the story. they still don’t quite see eye to eye on a lot of stuff, but they trust each other. if the turtles need to do anything shadier than they’re used to, they go to karai for help. if karai, for any reason, has to part with with her snake skin, the only people she trusts to look after it are the turtles

how often does renet show up? do you have any time travel adventures planned yet?

Renet shows up a lot, since ae kinda sorta get stuck in the turtles’ time for around half a year. i’ve been thinking of having a short time loop arc, where the turtles + friends are each stuck in individual time loops that take place during influential moments in their lives. to get out of their loops, each person has to get a piece of something (crystal? mechanism?) for them to put back together to break the loops. the time scepter is also a catalyst for a pretty devastating event ;)

what happened to Hamato Yoshi after he broke Splinter and the turtles out of the testing facility?

he lays low, for a while. he hides Splinter and the turtles, teaches them what he can about the outside world, how to read and write and speak (in english and japanese), and he starts teaching them how to defend themselves. given the reason Splinter and the turtles were mutated… it’s no wonder they get a grasp on it all so quickly. especially the fighting. Yoshi isn’t as young and strong as he used to be, and he’s a bit paranoid (for good reason), so he makes sure there’s escape plans if anyone finds them, safe spots to hide in, books and videos about martial arts and parenting and survival for Splinter

i’m still not sure how long he manages to hide them, but eventually he gets found out. Splinter and the turtles manage to escape, but… Yoshi doesn’t. it’s a fairly quick death, at least. that’s also when Venus gets separated from the others. the turtles consider him a grandfather of sorts

So, time for a BIG update.

Hyper Force Reignition Status Update

One of the biggest struggles I've been having is honestly, even wanting to post again. Burnout is real and dealing with a lot of IRL stresses doesn't help. I also was struggling with the scope of this fict, because I wanted to really linger and flesh out this AU, but I kept running into walls or having some really messed up experiences, l really don't wanna go into here involving IRL, that made it hard to wanna work (Death in the family, car getting stolen and wrecked)

Genuinely, I was struggling. I made models, I tried to keep forcing myself to work through it, but I just was NOT HAVING FUN ANYMORE.

Like, this was the biggest thing. I never lost my love for this fict, but man, I was not enjoying myself and I felt a lot of pressure.

This is something, I think I need to specify going forward when discussing Reignition and the tags later on will be updated to reflect that.

This is not an AU

This an iteration. So, it is DELIBERATELY different and canon is beloved and adored by me, but I cannot write it as is. Not out of a dislike for it, but because that's just not how my brain was wired. I've tried to explain it as "Same bones, different journey" but I don't think even that was enough.

The difference between Reignition and SRTMHFG is the same difference as THESE

I got back into TMNT as well, so this is kinda how I realized that I needed to really lean into the "iteration" part of Reignition, because truth be told, this wasn't really a canon rewrite. Canon was a suggestion left at the door.

An iteration is different from an AU cause it's that person's full interpretation of the story and telling their own version of it in it's entirety. I didn't wanna initially call Reignition that, because I didn't even realize it was that, but canon rewrite wasn't proper either... because it's not.

Also, because I've been getting some real pressure I wanna be out here and say it right now.

This hits a very specific squick of ours, it's non negotiable.

Due to the "iteration" thing again, season 3 will have it's OWN storyline which comes up to the latest thing...

I have decided Reignition as it stands currently is COMPLETED...

I feel a little bad I didn't contemplate this sooner cause I could've announced it differently, but when I posted the last chapter here, I thought i was going to keep pushing through into the next arc.

As the story evolved and grew, it's become painfully obvious to me, that the way I was going was NOT going to work out.

So, instead of rushing through and giving you guys a non satisfactory ending...

We're coming back and in a new way. Keep an eye out. It'll be posted here to the Reignition tumblr as always and be locked into the series on A03. I will also still continue Reignition: Maintenance Checks as now that I've decided to turn this into a series proper, it's been feeling a lot better.

I'm also going to be incorporating promotional videos and I've been studying animation and using vroid more and more. There's a lot underway that I'm excited to get to.

Also keep an eye out for updated models! Aileen is cookin and I'm cookin!

I'm gonna also work on not putting as much pressure on myself, because I kept feeling like I had to be 'perfect'.

Kinda lost sight of why I was doing this.

I'm doing it for my younger self.

She's the one I'm doing 99% of this for.

So, going forward... what's happening to the main fict?

Thing is, while it's technically 'done' it's not. I had a full plot hashing out happen and I need to edit some early sections of it. That will happen over the next few weeks, so keep an eye out, I will be updating it as if it was regular updates, because it's new content just updated chapters. My soft goal, is to be back up and running by the 20th anniversary of SRMTHFG.

I've been honestly, trying to decide if I wanted to even make an update post, but it's been so long since I posted properly and... I don't believe in hiding.

I'm not fully ready to be back yet, but I hope you guys will stay with me, while I'm updating and getting stuff ready. Some sneak peek stuff will go up after this post.

TMNT android AU

I’m supposed to be doing homework but my brain just exploded

I have been slowly but surely started to get consumed by a new, and I mean BRAND NEW, hyperfixation

Detroit: Become Human

For those that don’t know, DBH is an interactive game where the storyline changes with every decision you make, they give you a selective group of choices and the one you click on can change the whole thing. The story is about a futuristic world where humans have created Androids, robots, to help them in their everyday lives. So much so, that a lot of humans started losing their jobs because Androids were better at said jobs, which then made most humans become resentful towards Androids. Started treating them like slaves, beating them, breaking them, but the Androids started taking a mind of their own, started thinking for themselves, becoming Deviants, and rebelling against humans. There are three main characters: 

1. Kara: an android housekeeper/nanny, who upon becoming deviant, sets out to run away with the little girl under her care.

2. Markus: an android caretaker that makes it his mission to free all androids, starts the android revolution, and is the leader of said revolution

3. Connor: an android designed to hunt down deviant androids with the police department (and depending on if you press the right commands, he ends up becoming a deviant himself and aiding in the revolution)

which means my brain has been jumping from side to side between DBH and TMNT

and during one of those jumps, something clicked

a TMNT Detroit: Become Human AU

The turtles are now humanoid androids that are becoming deviants :)

I have different thoughts on this depending on the iteration of TMNT

TMNT 2012:

Leo: he’s a caretaker android who is aiding Hamato Yoshi due to health problems, when Yoshi’s brother Oroku Saki breaks into the house to steal money from him, Leo wakes up and ends up accidentally hurting Saki, which causes him to get shot at by police and sent to be destroyed, but Leo survives and vows to free other android’s from more suffering and unfairness

Raph: an android used for illegal android fights, full of pain and anger, he gets violent with his owner, Xever, and runs away, finding the rebellion hideout in the process

Donnie: an assistant android, works for the O’neil family, slowly becoming a deviant and catching romantic feelings for one miss April O’neil, and later some feelings for a certain mister Casey Jones (that’s right people, capritello) due to him coming over to April’s house for tutoring often

Mikey: was a housekeeping android until the family he worked for grew tired of him and threw him away, damaged and lost, he gets help from another deviant named Leatherhead, and finds his way to the android hideout, becoming one of the first androids to follow Leo into the resistance.

Karai: she’s the android that was designed to hunt down other androids, but starts deviating from her program with each new case she works on

I’ll be posting some more stuff about this au soon, including the 2003and 2018 versions that are already in the works

Alright, the Roman AU. It’s basically what it sounds like, a TMNT AU where things take place in an Ancient Rome type world. Specifically including Roman gladiatorial sport. In this story Raphael and Leonardo were kidnapped as children when their village was attacked and were then sold into slavery. The two always stuck together, with literally no one able to separate them.

They struggle to survive the life of unwanted slaves, making multiple attempts to escape only to be recaptured and punished. This goes on for a few years until the emperor himself happened to be passing by when one such escape was being attempted. Impressed with the two turtle’s unbreakable spirits and their ferocious devotion to each other, he purchases them and invests in both being minimally educated and then properly trained to compete in the Colosseum.

The bulk of the story takes place when the two are older, and involves more elements that will test the brother’s loyalties to their emperor and each other. Revolution, found family, corrupted politics, betrayal, bloody fights to the death- all you could want in an AU like this.
