Yoshis Hatch From Eggs

So recently a hypothesis has been going around claiming Yoshies are something they are not, and by extension has led to many people believing Yoshies don't hatch from eggs. So here's several examples of Baby Yoshies hatching from eggs.

The first one is from Super Mario Bros. 4 Super Mario World, in this game you can come across some eggs that hatch into Baby Yoshies. A we see the same thing happen in New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe with the Baby Yoshis from that game. This can also been seen in official art depicting this as well.

In Game & Watch Gallery 2's Vermin a Yoshi is protecting 6 Yoshi eggs from the Koopa Troop. These are probably the same eggs that hatch in Yoshi Story. The Green Yoshi is probably the Star Yoshi that hatched at the end of Yoshi's Island DS as well, making the other Yoshies here his friends which he mentioned in SMB4SMW.

In Game & Watch Gallery 2's Chef we see Yoshi lay and egg which hatches into a Baby Yoshi.

There is also the whole Yosu Ko/Yoshi Lake thing.

We see a Baby Yoshi hatch from an egg in Super Mario RPG and live in the nest with other Yoshi eggs.

Finally we see a Mini Yoshi hatch from an egg in Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door. This shows Yoshies also make nests.

So yes, Yoshies do indeed hatch from eggs as.

I've had these sitting in a google doc for ages so I might as well hand them over.

I've split them into stuff that 'could take place in canon' and 'modern au' stuff

Robin:

Fluent in multiple languages (kind of canon but whatever)

He has a PhD in astrophysics 

Humphrey:

He gets migraines

He’s a teacher (this is quite popular), Headteacher humphrey is cool as well

Failed his driving test 4 times in a row

Coffee gives Humphrey headaches so he drinks more of it. 

Mary:

Kitty:

Likes Call the Midwife.

She is a Nurse or Doctor, possibly a paediatrician. Haven’t seen this done yet but I think it could be fun given her fascination with Maddocks’ injury.

Thomas:

He is scared of dogs (channeling me right now) Dante is a weird exception to this that Fanny often complains about but secretly is proud of.

He can experience temperature as a ghost. (Credit to Ailendolin) He is susceptible to heat stroke and sometimes gets a cold, especially after going in the lake.

He's left handed

He is dyslexic and/or short sighted. Bonus if he refuses to wear glasses. Double bonus if this gives him constant headaches.

Studied abroad in Holland for 2 years and developed a weed addiction, he moved back to the UK to get over it

Coffee gives Thomas headaches so he doesn’t drink it. 

Fanny:

Thomas, Fanny, and Mary love watching Downton Abbey. Thomas is a passionate fan of Edith, Mary likes Sybil, and Fanny is a big fan of Violet Crawley (as she should be).

All autistic (Julian and Robin AuDHD).

Cap, Thomas, Mary, and Julian are cat people

Pat, Robin, and Fanny are dog people

Humphrey and Kitty passionately refuse to pick a side.

Thomas, Cap, Pat, Fanny and Julian are tea people.

Robin and Humphrey as siblings/ twins.

Thomas and Kitty met in school. Thomas was being picked on and Kitty defended him.

Mary and Robin hooked up once (I know its canon but I love when it also happens in modern au's)

Robin - goalkeeper, he once scored from a goal kick

Humphrey - defence, very good at headers (lol) but is frequently injured mainly due to being clumsy

Kitty - defence, she gets very invested in the game and will break knees (while apologising) 

Cap - defence, it took him a while to pick up the sport but he’s thriving, works very well with Humphrey and Kitty

Thomas - surprisingly good left winger, other teams generally see him (being himself) before the game  and write him off as a weaker player - he loves proving them wrong

Fanny - right wing, her and thomas make a weirdly good duo, she's absolutely incredible at penalties 

Pat - central midfielder and the team captain (Cap conceded that maybe Pat was a little bit better than him at football and should take the lead ‘just this once’)

Mary - Striker, really strong with both feet, closes her eyes when she takes a shot but somehow is still usually on target 

Julian - Striker, solid player but is frequently sent off for inappropriate celebrations

"They always rested in the same field"

If you went west past the greenhouses you would find a field of sunflowers that soon made way to a lake. The field was once a tourist attraction for taking scenic pictures and bags of seed. But now it was cut off from tourists since in the words of the locals, the tourists can’t follow directions.

Zhonglin liked to hide there, the tall flowers did a good job of hiding people, hiding secrets. Yoshi always managed to track him down, saying they should get back to work, back to their own fields, back to where people were.

Zhonglin always asked for 10 more minutes to just lie there. Yoshi always obliged, and then joined him.

As much as Zhonglin liked the commune and navigated the laws well enough, the citizens, including his dear friend could be a bit much. Yoshi is, for all his size and appearance, a strict law abiding Solite. He also saw good in people that didn’t deserve it, and gave everyone the benefit of doubt. Yoshi was born and raised on this commune and behaved every part of it. Right now Zhonglin bets Yoshi just thinks Zhonglin is tired or overwhelmed when the truth is always a bit more complicated.

“They’re saying you hurt those tourists.”

Zhonglin continues to lie there eyes closed as if hes taking a nap. He appreciates that Yoshi likes to warn him of what people think of him.

“I didn’t touch them. They were in Vicky’s territory. They were warned.” all truthful statements, because Yoshi craves honesty more than anything.

“There may be a trial.”

Zhonglin stifles a laugh and a “I hope so.” It has been boring around the commune lately. He hopes at the least Vicky enjoyed her meal.

Dinosaur Land Location Part 2

So in the previous post I suggested Dinosaur Land and by extension Yoshi's Island was part of the Cascade Kingdom. However, it might actually be part of the Mushroom Kingdom.

So the SMRPG and M&LPIT maps place Yoshi's Island close to the Mushroom Kingdom. While they are composite maps that don't have things in their right placements, it is interesting that both place it not too far way. Someone might suggest the SMB4SMW manual doesn't say it's part of the Mushroom Kingdom, at the same time it doesn't say it isn't part of the Mushroom Kingdom.

Speaking of SMRPG, you can find a place called the Pipe Vault that leads to an underground location leading to Yoshi's Island. But since you get here via Pipe it could be argued you Warp here, so we need something more concrete.

So in the game Mario & Wario a good proportion of the places take place in Yoshi's Island due to the following info. Yosu Ko aka Yoshi Lake is rumored to be the place where Yoshis are born/hatch. This would place it near the location we see in SMRPG Yoshi's Island. Kumotori Yama aka Cloud-Catching Mountain has Super Koopas flying around. Kōri no Dōkutsu aka Ice Cavern has Rexs frozen in ice. Honō no Dōkutsu aka Flame Cavern had SMB4SMW Blaargs. And Pukupuku Kai aka Cheep Cheep Sea has Blurps. All of these are enemies from Dinosaur Land, and are connected to Yoshi's Island. Plus Yoshis are present of course.

Now why is this important? Well the level Barūn Burijji aka Balloon Bridge bridges Dinosaur to Karakara Sabaku aka Dry Dry Desert which is East of the Grasslands. This would mean Dinosaur Land is not part of the Cascade Kingdom but part of the Mushroom Kingdom, particularly in the inland sea to the South of the Grasslands/Desert Land. This would also mean the name of this sea is Cheep Cheep Sea. This would also explain why Yoshies once had range in the Mushroom Kingdom, and some exist on places like Lavalava Island. This also explains species such as Ravens, Crazee Dayzees, Bumpties, and Rexs existing the Mushroom Kingdom and even the Beanbean Kingdom. This also explains the stork passing over Yoshi's Island several times in the Yoshi's Island Games, and why Baby Bowser so easily got to Yoshi's Island in M&LPIT.

Now as for Yoshi's Island, people question if there is 2 Yoshi's Islands or if Yoshi's Island eroded over time. I don't think this is the case, I think what is going on here is we are only seeing what is relevant in Dinosaur Land's levels of Yoshi's Island, and it's actually much bigger. Similar to how we only see portions of Yoshi's Island in SMRPG and M&LPIT. It is also the same Island due to the presence of Yoshi's House in SM2YI.

pooltoyification is like a transformation thing that a surprising number of people (including me!) are into. you know pooltoys-- the plasticky rubber vinyl floaties that people hang out on and in when theyre at the pool or the lake. now really think about them-- maybe one in particular from your childhood-- god, isnt the texture of them wonderful? so smooth, bouncy, so light that you could easily pick a large one up with just one paw but firm, too, inflated to be large and cutely rounded. the way that they shine in the sun, especially when theyre wet; their seams that connect them together, often causing their bodies to adorably crimp at the side; the fact that many of them are transparent, even slightly so, allowing you to see all the way through them; their thin, soft vinyl being broken up by only two things, gorgeous handles built-in to their bodies for people to grab at them, carry them, use them, and their hard plastic nozzle that people often blow directly into. god, don't you just want to be that? soft, shiny, squeaky, with beautiful handles and a silly demeanor and light as a feather but big enough to hug, hold, and ride on? to be seen as a toy, an object, to be inflated or deflated by your friends at will? i know i do. the idea of that is like peak sensory to me, and the sexual objectification it comes with is pretty wonderful too.

in my experience theres a pretty vast amount of pooltoy art and pooltoy artists, i tend to post mine on the "pooltoy" tag on tumblr, but theres plenty especially once you start following the right people. i havent seen as much pooltoy writing or smut, but id love to, i just havent. im sure its out there too.

if this post makes anyone want to be a pooltoy, you should pooltoyify your sona! or make a new pooltoy fursona all your own. its a wonderful practice and has not only made me so happy in general but also is a great way to show your friends how to roleplay/sext with you in fun ways. like whenever i post another pooltoy yoshi fursona art, many of my coolest friends tend to message me about what a cute good little yoshi pooltoy i am. its frankly wonderful. sqrk.

I wanted to make a "little" compilation of all the different Kingdoms, Lands, and other countries within the Super Mario franchise that have been shown or mentioned, so here is is! This is mainly meant to be an informational post for anyone researching Mario stuff. Notes

Bowser seems to have at least 4 distinct kingdoms in the games: Dark Land, Koopa Kingdom, Bowser Land and Bowser's Kingdom. I will still count these as separate countries since nothing in-game states they are part of the same domain, despite being ruled by the same individual.

Although there are many "king" characters in the Mario series, many are not shown to have their own kingdoms in-game, so none of those were included, as it is merely speculative.

Some locations listed are depicted as small areas within spin-off games (Mario Kart courses and Mario Party boards), and may not be actual countries in-universe. I listed them anyways because it is still technically possible, and the names of these locations in other languages use the terms "country" and "kingdom" as well.

The "Cat Kingdom" is the Korean name of Lake Lapcat in Bowser's Fury, so that was included as well as "Tiny People Country, Giant People Country" as they are the Chinese name for Tiny Huge Island from Super Mario 64. Additionally, "Water Land" is used as the name of World 3 in Super Mario Bros. 3 as well as the Japanese name of Dire, Dire Docks, and the painting worlds are stated to be separate from the regular world in the Mario series, so I listed both as distinct countries.

The "Jungle Kingdom" was the name given to Donkey Kong's domain in the Super Mario Bros. Movie. While the film is not canon, I included the name as the term for his region, as Donkey Kong is known as "King of the Jungle" in multiple games.

Dead/Abstracted Performer Headcanons Volume 3/5

Name: Chromeo III (two other performers briefly considered using the name Chromeo at Caine's suggestion, hence the III)

Avatar: A REALLY big legally distinct yoshi/barney. His tail ended with a transparent orb with a few colorful marbles in it. (He would automatically shrink to fit into his room's door)

Personality: Despite the name suggesting otherwise, this guy was the ultimate himbo. Real outdoorsy type too, so he got really grouchy whenever there was an in house adventure. He also frequently broke the carnival rides.

Fun fact: Chromeo was completely unaware as to how much Glumis hated his guts and was hit hard by his abstraction.

Abstraction: He eventually realized most of the other performers dismissed him as an overbearing doofus, as that feeling piled up he eventually just couldn't take it anymore. His abstracted form was actual quite small and really fast, it managed to glitch four people ( Gangle being among them)

Name: Edgallen (a combination of Edgar and Allen, I'm sure you'll figure it out after I describe the avatar)

Avatar: Greenish-off-white glow in the dark skeleton with glitter balls for eyes, moved around by several frog-eyed blobs. He could really glow in the dark.

Personality: Tired guy ( matching his scratchy voice) with a cynical sense of humor and interest in classically spooky stuff. He would due his best to help Ragatha in adjusting new humans (He was the second person to appear after her, the first one will come next time).

Fun fact: He convinced Caine to create a "creepy" fun house, Caine took it down after Edgallen abstracted to not repeat the mistake he made with Barridge's situation. Bonus: The fun house idea was based on the grey building north of the lake in this concept art:

Abstraction: A combination of Caine neglecting his interests, even after creating the fun house there were very few adventures in it, and good-old fashioned existential dread. He did a lot of damage since he was on his way to the fun house to avoid a repeat adventure, glitched Kaufmo and Zooble. His was the last abstraction before Kaufmo's.
