Mr. Katsuki-Nikiforov’s job title as a Disaster Relief Specialist is more literal than anyone suspects. The facade exists almost specifically for his marriage, for pacifying the other Mr. Katsuki-Nikiforov. While the organization would’ve preferred him to stay single, flexible, marriage has brought meaning to his life and renewed his purpose as an operative.

When he’s racing time on a C4 detonator? He thinks about his husband waiting for him to come home. When he’s hanging off the ceiling with suction devices to bypass a surveillance system? Ok Makka, because she keeps getting into food she’s not supposed to have.

But now, when he’s slow dancing with a beefcake arms dealer? Definitely thinking about how his husband would have dipped him and spun him and passed the lead back and forth with ease. And it’s a shame that he can’t give this man the education he so clearly lacks, but he’ll be a bloodstain soaking into hotel room carpet soon enough.

Or so he thinks until he gets up to that hotel room and finds his husband waiting.

Summary:

Yuuri has always aspired to be a performance griffin rider just like his hero, Victor Nikiforov. After years of hard work, he finally feels ready to share the air with his greatest source of inspiration.

But on the eve of the festivities, in the midst of a powerful snowstorm, Victor's griffin returns to the stables bleeding and injured without her partner.

Leaving behind the safety and warmth of the aerie, Yuuri flies into the storm, determined to find Victor and bring him home.

Little does he know, the storm isn't the only reason Victor needs to be saved.

PREVIEW:

Yuuri began his process as he always had when it came to sculpting. He would order the appropriate amount of clay for the initial draft and then the largest slab of granite he could find once he was satisfied. Something about this man’s facial structure was jarring to him, as if no matter what he did, even if he felt like he was going to mess up somehow he became even more beautiful than before. He felt encouraged as he continued to recall his dreams about the man, studied how his eyes crinkled, how he moved with confidence, how his hands looked like they were in constant graceful movement. Yuuri wanted more than anything to try to bring that to the granite and immortalize it.

He knew using granite would be risky as it was the harder stone to work with, thereby leaving no room for mistakes, but Yuuri felt sure enough for once, especially with how frequently he kept seeing this man in his dreams, that there would be no chance of it. He already knew every curve that adorned his face. Whether it was from the lining of his jaw up to the soft plain of his temples, or even the gentle angle of his nose down to the coy curvature of his lips. Even lower, Yuuri pictured the muscular lining of his arms and the gentle curve of his collarbone and how parts of his body ebbed and etched itself out perfectly.

He had chosen to model the man in a floral crown because of the ethereal emotions he made him feel. And as he worked day in and day out to perfectly craft him. Yuuri found that he knew everything he wanted to make this man into, but he did not know a name. The closer he got to finalizing his face, Yuuri could feel his heart skipping a bit. Every chisel, every careful hammering, as the man’s face was becoming more and more of a reality in the stone, Yuuri was transfixed on the project. He was transfixed on the man. He felt that he was pouring a part of himself that he had locked away for years with every feature he managed to chisel out. Somehow, he felt more and more rejuvenated the longer he continued to work on it.

All the while, his furry companion kept him company through the process, always nipping at his ankles to beg him to take a break. Until one day when Yuuri had walked into the room, he saw Vicchan had rested himself directly on the middle of the sculptures chest. With a small smile, he had decided to dedicate the sculptures name to the best friend he could have ever had. The sculptures name would be Victor.

what is a reverse bang?

simply put, a bang is a type of fan challenge in which writers and artists work together to produce new collaborative content for the fandom. in a reverse bang, the artist signs up first and creates a sketch, and the writer claims the person they want to write for based on the sketch and summary the artists provide.

who can participate?

this event accepts writers, graphics-makers (including moodboards, icons, edits), cosplayers, comic artists, traditional artists, and illustrators. whether this is your first time participating in an event or you’re a fandom event veteran, it’s all fine as long as you’re interested in meeting new friends and providing new content for the fandom!

what are the responsibilities?

traditional/digital artists will create a minimum of two works. graphics and cosplayers will create a minimum of four works. writers will create a fic of a minimum of 5,000 words.

this applies to pinch-hitters as well, but minimums may be relaxed or negotiated depending on when you’re called on to help out. you may also be automatically eligible for an extension.

what is the claim process for pinch-hitters?

pinch-hitters, please take a look at the wip document.

you will be asked to claim a minimum of three pairing numbers and/or solo creators in the sign-up form. whether you are an artist or a writer (or both), the projects you choose signify who you are willing to step in for should someone drop out.

hey guys! my name is mac and i’m going to be your host for the third annual yoibb! (sorry for the banner, the real one is on my other computer oops)

we are officially less than one month out from the start of sign-ups (!!!), so here’s some important information regarding this event!

what is a bang / reverse bang?

simply put, a bang is a type of fan challenge in which writers and artists work together to produce new collaborative content for the fandom. in a reverse bang, the artist signs up first and creates a sketch, and the writer claims the person they want to write for based on the sketch and summary the artists provide.

this bang is focused on the relationship between viktor nikiforov and katsuki yuuri!

who can participate?

there is no maximum but all works should be finished and polished by the final deadline.

what is needed from you initially?

because reverse bangs involve collaboration with a writer who will claim you later on, you will need to start working on a sketch / wip that not only conveys your idea for the project, but also conveys your style. writers will use these sketches / wips to determine who they are most interested in working with for this project.

artists will also be asked to submit a summary. the sketches / wips and summaries can be as detailed or vague as you’d like.

they are due on february 2.
