This is just what few people here like @spoonietimelordy were talking about, this is a streaming service owned by Disney, it's a kind of serial in a culture that sees such homophobia as a normal part of life and media, and broadcasting corporations hardly ever get back about complaints at all unless they enter mainstream public criticism.

There are people like me who remove ourselves from such media completely and expect nothing of it, the disengagement brings us peace, and that too is alright since not everyone will have the energy to fight every battle.

But this is exactly why it's wrong of us to shame or tease those who are still arguing with what might end up being a wall. Because criticism wil still chip away at that wall bit by bit, and such a change in a media which reaches a target audience that is largely not queer and from a culture where homophobia is normalised is a HUGE step.

This is a positive change, and we don't get these changes if we curb every person who dared to hope, dared to fight and argue about some piece of media, dared to call out the homophobia in media the rest of us "expect to be homophobic". Get over yourself.

Tl;dr You wanna disengage with media that's troubling, that's your right, that's your prerogative. It certainly isn't so to tell those who engage and critique that it's their own fault for expecting too much from the wrong place.

Last night, I had the most amazing Irish experience of my life. So I'm in @safeway in Waldorf and a gentlemen looks at me and laughs. So he says to me, "I just told a friends that we have black brethren and he couldn't believe it and here you are in front of me...I love your t-shirt". Just in case u're wondering, I had on my "Black And Irish, Yes We Exist" tee shirt. So we're rappin'x Bob Sullivan (Sullivan is an Irish last name as well) I showed him my family reunion tee shirt from 2015, the family tree with the "Boyce", "Scott" and "Withrow" names on it, and he takes me to this site, www.houseofnames.com. This site gives the history of every last name in reference to Irish lineage and the crest (shield) associated with every last name. To all my black Irish family that falls under the last name Boyce, Scott or Withrow, please please take time out to visit @houseofnames' website so that you can have knowledge of your lineage.
