You ever think about how even in his name, Haruka is second best? I got his name mixed up a lot at first. Sakura Haruki - Isumi Haruka - Izumi Mitsuki and Iori.

And that's exactly it, isn't it? To the audience, by the time Haruka's introduced, we already have the Izumis. He's not quite the same, and he'll never fill that same place as them (he's not trying to, he's not)

And for Kujo, well, not only can he not live up to Zero's potential, but his name is already washed out by Sakura Haruki's. Twice over is he Not Enough to Kujo. Not original, not worthwhile. Not living up to the legacy he's been left.

Of course he's antagonistic. He's been overshadowed both within and without the narrative before he even gets a chance to appear in screen.
