I was thinking about the language barrier's reader a bit and thought that the inclusion of certain types of jewelry on reader looked odd to Hylians was really neat! So I looked around to see what types of jewelry Hylians could wear and the most I see them wearing are gold necklaces, bracelets, and the occasional jewel earring. Which isn't a very diverse jewelry set, but it is interesting. It got me thinking if the reader wears more gothic or alternative types of jewelry like studded rhinestone belts or spiky chained collars or even an industrial piercing on one if their ears. It can also add to the group's suspicions since they're timelines are a lot more fantastical and dark/gothic elements are more see of as apart of the evil side. They could've thought that reader was a spy or smthn! Thoughts?

lovely anon, I must tell you that I once again went absolutely over the line with pictures I took. There are so many good ones!! I knew a few illustrations from sensei's twitter and knew how well it worked for me so I ordered this book from japan and yes, that is why I can never pick favourites I just like all of them (exception is the series in which the characters are teachers and you are supposed to be their student, not a big fan of those lol). yes its amazing that this fanservice exist. In the interview at the end of the book sensei says they often drew their characters as practise (without lines) and then uploaded them to twitter to find out the people responded so well!! so they continued with it! More snippets from the interview:

they consider this a kind of alternative world that has no space in the manga (since its a gag manga).

they claim they didnt try to make the characters hot on purpose, it just turned out this way. in their head usao and kumao always had old people voices. but now they are glad the characters are hot because of the voice actors choosen.

they come up with a line and then assign it to a character, rarely the other way around.

Every one of their characters has one thing they think is special, something they like to show off when they draw them. for Uramichi its the chest, for Iketeru the slender neck, for Usahara the shoulders and Kumatani the arms!

and shockingly to me: since this manga is running 10 years now they said when they started they felt like Uramichi is so old, but now they are the same age! I cant believe how someone in their twenties wrote such an accurate manga about being in ones thirties.

Sorry, but I really have to say it, I can’t take it anymore.

A lot of anons you’ve been getting and answering are so incredibly annoying and disingenuous. It’s not a you problem, it’s those weird people. Aside from the fact that they clearly did not read the pov chapters of the characters they hate, they also tie themselves into tight knots because of theories not rooted in canon. Drawing half-assed parallels between characters that don’t have anything in common, coming up with baseless theories and then foaming at the mouth about them as if they’ve been confirmed by George himself. This is weird. Obsessive, even.

While disheartening, it’s understandable when people start hating characters because of said character’s annoying and vocal fans. But let’s not pretend that just because you can come up with theories where you villainise a character or other to justify your weird hatred that it somehow makes sense.

And to be clear, I’m not saying you can’t have absolute favourites, that you can’t be ride of die for a character. You can even ignore any other pov but the one of your fav. I have my favourites as well, it’s normal. But how can you talk stupid shit about a character that you don’t care to read about? You call the antis of your favourite “brainless”, but you act just like them towards other characters and their fans. This is called hypocrisy, btw, and you’re contributing to the disease in this fandom just as much as them.

Jinki was definitely drinking a lot starting in the early 2010s and stopping after his scandal for the obvious reasons that he got a massive reality check and needed to get his shit together quick. That's one reason why I'm always a bit bothered when people say he doesn't really do much as a leader. He did so much and with so little support from SM that he coped with it through substance abuse which almost cost him his entire career. I also think it's funny when some people say he's the most boring or nice member although I understand why they'd get that impression. I think back in the day Jinki had the wildest private life out of all of them. Maybe only rivaled by Taemins constant sneaking out of the dorm to have sex with half of Seoul. Does it seem obvious from content that Onew was drinking to much for a long time before his likely alcoholism became out of control? Yes. Can he still have a been a great leader through this/despite this? Yes, absolutely. High functioning alcoholism is a thing for a reason. I'm just weary of supporting narratives that say SM caused his alcoholism. That's not a thing. Addiction is a disease.

Also, Taemin admitted he sneaked out of the dorm a lot. He admitted it was often to spend time with Kai and a lot of that had to do with staying late to practice at SM or who knows what hijinks. Taemin was mainly a minor when he actually lived at the dorm. Taemin has definitely slutted it up, but I think claims are overblown and unlikely to coincide with his youngest years in the group. Jonghyun was the one known for 2 dates or more on the same day, btw.

I tend to disagree with you re Roxane's break-up scene, because let's remember that we are obsessed. We can list all of Adam's misdemeanors in the blink of an eye. The casual viewer can't. So this last fact in itself justifies Roxane's monologue reminding us what a terrible boyfriend he's been. And also, even though it all wasn't fresh news for me, I must say I appreciated hearing them all together and I appreciated even more Adam having all of this said to his face. And Roxane's conclusion "Et tu penses que ça fait de toi un type bien" poooooooow elle tire à balles réelles et ça fait du bien !!!! So yea basically I loved that scene because he deserved it. Now it seems like we now have 'em both referring to each other as different people! And well, I guess ppl forgot this - but even in TK2, we saw Kaz fighting against Devil Kaz. Which may just be seen as symbolism - but in TK4, Devil Kaz even refers to Kaz by name, asking what he's doing. (And plus Heihachi didn't recognize Devil Kaz as Kaz.) So because of this, I always saw DJ and Jin as different people - just habiting the same body. I also find this concept to be much more interesting than trying to claim DJ is just "Jin but evil!11!!1 his dark desires!!1!!!" Just because that concept if sooo generic and overused for fighting games. Mortal Kombat has their revenants which is just that, and Street Fighter as Ryu and Evil Ryu. And since I wrote in the MK fandom once - I already wrote that concept and I'm bored with it. Jin and DJ being enemies who are forced to share a body is very fascinating to me.

So, that's also why I roll my eyes when I see ppl say that TK6's writing is "justified" because DJ represents what Jin really wants. (Fuck off with thaaat.) And even if somehow, someway, Jin did go "dark." I don't see him behaving like DJ. I see Jin behaving more angrier and aggressive - but not sadistic and maniacally laughing and stuff.

Funny thing is - I actually wasn't too happy with Xiao's depiction in the Bloodline anime because I felt they made her more generic than she is in the games. XD Imo, not many of the Tek characters are "generic." Yes, they all have tropes. (Xiao's the bubbly schoolgirl, Jin's the stoic main character.) But like, many characters are built upon established tropes. It's how they're written and how they actually act with those tropes that make them unique. I really don't see how Asuka's generic. Even if she can be a bit pointless to her family's story, she can be entertaining as a character personality wise imo.

AND YEAHHH - I may also be in the minority who didn't completely hate the TK7 story like many people do. But I def agree they fucked the other characters up completely. Like yeah, I still have gripes about the TK7 story - but at least it was taken seriously. And Heihachi did stuff and was taken seriously again. (Unlike you know, in TK5 and TK6 where he has endings of him sending his family to... Space to kill them.) But my God, I finally got around to unlocking all the character endings a few months ago and TK7 probably has the worst character endings - maybe even worse than TK6 (if not just as bad. As TK6 wasn't all juvenile humor, but a lot of them was just short 30 seconds of Nothing Happening) I'd say Miguel probably had the best ending - if it didn't remind of TK6 and made me angry because of that.

I feel like they will bring back Heihachi - even just to be in the roster, and not alive. Just because even if the character is dead - players still liked his style, and therefore, enjoyed playing as him. I feel like they could pull a Kazumi, and have Heihachi in a flashback, and thus he can be in the roster because of that. Lots of people are saying "they could make clone or robo Heihachi - or even a new apprentice!" But really, I think Flashback Heihachi is most likely. Honestly, I wouldn't really mind if TK8 brought in a lot of "dead" characters as DLC. Like they're just DLC, and most Tek characters have no impact on the story anyway (LOL) So... what would be the big deal? It'd be nice to see Jinpachi or Ogre again.
