Queen Maereth from @sotwk. I love how motherly and feminine Maereth is. She is Thranduil's perfect match. I reread all the fics/headcanons about Thranduil and Maereth every month 🥺 I love all their sons. I could finish this post by naming all their children. If ya'll love LOTR/TH/ROP please check out sotwk's blog because it is the epitome of Tolkien loving.

Princess Saera Targaryen from coaxed you into paradise. This is a shameless self-plug in. I wrote her during a time where I was still honing my fanfic-writing powers. She isn't the best flawless OC, but she's the one closest to my heart ❤️ I'm a sucker for kind and feminine OCs, so I made her out to be everything that her sister isn't. Whereas Rhaenyra had to put on a strong front as the heir apparent, Saera had the freedom to be kind and flawed.

Reader in @youvebeenlivingfictional 's Bad Faith (x Harvey Specter). This is the best Harvey Specter fanfic in the ecosystem. You can insert yourself shamelessly in the reader part, as all the characters seem to act their character. There was an amazing characterization of Harvey, Mike and Jessica. The words that the author used, I can imagine being uttered in Suits. I LOVE THIS FANFIC SO MUCH!! 10/10

Reader in @edensrose 's When Darkness Reigns (x Thranduil, x Mairon love triangle). This is also one of my favorite fanfics. Constantly lives in my head rent free. I love how sassy Mairon is, but I also enjoy the characterization of Thranduil as he is corrupted by darkness to protect his people. Really dances will with Tolkien's motif: goodness cannot be determined by the destination, but the means to get there.

Theradis in @mismaeve 's Long Live The Queen (x Thranduil). Yes, I'm obsessed with Thranduil. I love the theme of corruption portrayed in this fic. Reminds me of that one episode in Encantadia where Mine-a was brought back to life, corrupted by evil, and forced to fight against the people that she loves. I love that even when fighting against each other, they can't ignore the pulse of love.

so my project over the summer was making a hard copy of my rottmnt april-centric fic, how to get very good at juggling! shameless plug, it occupies a very special place in my heart.

and a video flip through <3 yes it's a bad video but this has been rotting in my drafts I need it out

step by step-ish process pics under the cut! + a link to the tutorial i used.

I largely used this tutorial by Sea Lemon for the actual construction of the book. For the text block, I just copied it into a word document, formatted it to my liking, and printed it out in 24 page signatures. (This makes it sound easier than it was. I trial and error-ed this step so hard, since all the tutorials I saw were for blank notebooks, and not text. If there's demand for a step-by-step on how to do this process with god's jankiest printer, lmk and i'll write it out)

In the end, I had a bunch of signatures that looked similar to this image below. i actually reprinted them (for the third time) after i took this picture bc some pages disappeared and i took the opportunity to center the page numbers. someday i'll learn how to get them on alternating corners.

...that i then sewed and glued into a text block! (ft. my cat)

because i was using a public printer, and also because i couldn't figure out how to adjust the margins, i had to do some trimming to make the margins more normal. you can kinda see in the image above that the top margin is like. two inches. (i'm currently in the process on typesetting another fic, i'm gonna figure out the margins this time i swear)

once i trimmed it (very slowly, with an exacto blade) (god i wish i had a paper guillotine), i sewed on some paper headbands and an extra piece of support cardstock (not pictured, whoops), and then it was finally time to start the cover!

okay, admission. when i started this project, my intention was to do a vinyl cover, do the title in stickers, and be done with it. unfortunately the sticky backing of vinyl? very sticky. not easy to adjust things when you have shaky hands and can't get the cover pieces immediately lined up. so i quickly burned through the whole roll of vinyl i had, which meant it was time for plan B, fabric.

also unfortunately, my local chain craft store never fails to let me down, and the only green fabric they had was god's brightest shade of green. regardless, we persevere.

because of who i am as a person, i know how to embroider! more or less! so that meant instead of futzing around with fabric markers and attempting to make a passable cover that way, i just decided to embroider a cover.

and then i got started with the embroidery! i measured out the dimensions of the cover on the back of the fabric, and made a grid for where i wanted all my pieces to go

once the cover was finally done, i glued and assembled it a la Sea Lemon's tutorial. and!! now i have a book!!

SXF Novelization Fave Parts and some Analysis because I love Analyzing (Overthinking) Mission 1

I finally got my Spy x Family Family Portrait Novel and immediately finished reading it in one day, so without further ado, here are my fave parts, lines, dialogues from the first mission which is centered around Anya and Damian and this chapter just gives me diabetes 😭 (I've been shipping Damianya, yes but all this time it was like an innocent ship and it's not like making me feel butterflies since of course they're just children, but here in the novel, I actually got butterflies in my stomach, they're just so cute and precious here ❤️)

MISSION 1- THE EDEN ACADEMY NATURE CAMPING

-Yor thinking she needs to teach Anya a lot of survival things about camping because she's worried if she can handle the woods (Yor is such a great mom, worrying for Anya's safety always and I think this just shows her experience regarding the wilderness revealing that her hometown might've been near the woods and she did experiencing hunting for food when she was young)

-Loid hoping that the trip could bring Anya and Damian closer (Be careful what you wish you for Loid 😂)

"Wonderful! That's my girl. You can do it, Anya," Loid said.

I just love it when Loid calls Anya his girl, for she will always and forever be his little girl.

-Loid and Yor sort of having a gentle argument on who should get Bond's milk 😂

Loid: I'll get you some milk Bond

Yor: No, let me do that for you.

Loid: No, I can do it, just sit there and relax

Yor: You're the one who should relax

They ended up getting the milk together. These two idiots. 😭❤️

They remind of that, you hang up first, no you hang up first couple exchanges when they're on the phone. These two are so good in this married couple thing without even trying.

And then stabbed me in angst in the next paragraph.

Ever since escaping from the facility, Anya had bounce between orphanages and foster homes. But now she'd finally found someplace worth treasuring, and if she could bring about world peace, then they'd all be able to keep happily living here together.

She clearly doesn't know about Twilight's plan to leave them after achieving his mission. I wonder how she would react to that. I've written a fanfic about it so if you can check it out if you're interested😊. Sorry for the shameless fic plug.

But I hope that after the success of Strix, Loid would stay with them. Could he really leave them? Can he really do that? He can't even let Anya go during the first week they've been together and he has the choice to just ditch her, choose another child and it was the practical and safe thing for a spy for him to do when Edgar knew about his location. But he saved her and took her in despite his reservations about endangering her and all. Now could he let this little girl go after all this time?

-Anya reading Damian's mind and seeing his thoughts about him drowning when he, Emile and Ewen went camping with Mr. Green, made fun of him and even acted out his lines when he thought that he was really drowning in that shallow lake (She loves trolling Damian that she forgot that doing that could give her off as a telepath😂)

"Lovey-dovey couples are nice, but there's something extra special about bickering, will-they-won't-they romances."

I gotta agree with Becky on this one. Bickering makes any romance stories a thousand times more investing and entertaining to read. That's why academic rivals to lovers is an s-tier trope for me.

-Becky partnering Anya with Damian to fetch some water. Becky is also a fan of forced proximity trope, I see.

-Anya's telepathy elicited a sensation on Damian and it said that it wasn't the first time. I really bet that Damian would be the first to know about Anya's mind ability.

-Anya being confused about her left and right hand 😂 (I mean kids her age really do get confused about that, I don't blame her)

-Damian being gentle in his way of speaking whenever he sees Anya distressed or in tears. I'll never get tired of Damian being soft to Anya, he's really a sweet kid.

"Hey, keep it together!" commanded Damian as Anya started to sob again. He grabbed her arm and squeezed it tightly, pulling her close to speak in her ear (because the rain is loud). "I saw a small cave a ways back. Let's head there."

I don't know why but this scene, because of the way it was written, gave me butterflies.

-Anya calling for her Papa to save her when she was so scared. Loid said that Yor was the one that makes Anya feels safe, but she wasn't the only one whom Anya considers to be her safe place. He was also his baby's safe place and she trusts that Papa will always be there to save her.

-My favorite moment: Damian holding her hand and comforting her so she won't be scared, even though he, himself, is terrified too. Ugh, if that wasn't love, I don't what is. And when Anya gripped his hand back to comfort him too, he stopped shaking and Anya thought that his hand was warm. Awww, so preciouss❤️😭

-Anya letting herself to get the blame and willing to be punished but Damian not letting Anya to get the blame for them being lost in the forest. These two are like mini Yor and Loid haha, just young, energetic and extroverted versions of the two 🤣

-Anya being ashamed to face her Papa, because she thought her Operation to get close to Damian failed (since after that incident Damian went back to his mean self again but of course she didn't know Damian's crush on her just get massively deeper after that) but Loid wasn't even worried about that at all, nor did her ask her about Damian when she came home. When he had noticed she was sad, he immediately asked if she didn't have fun at their camping event. And when Anya said that she did, he smiled and said that he was glad that she did, because it's his daughter's happiness that's important to him (Because if she's happy then it would be good for my mission, I can imagine Loid telling this to himself when he just genuinely wanted her to be happy and enjoy her time at school since he never had the chance to do that as a kid)

-Yor and Loid preparing food together for Anya's return. Loid telling Anya that the food was safe to consume when she saw her face that is prepared to face death because he helped Yor to prepare. It was peak father-daughter moment 😂 But he let Yor cooked her specialty dish Southern Stew all by herself since she's the one who can make it the best ❤️

I wonder if Anya told him about her and Damian getting lost in the forest and Damian held her hand to comfort her. I wanna see Loid's reaction to that 😂

"I love Mizore's oboe" - a deep dive on the "I love you" hug scene in Liz and the Bluebird

Because this movie lives in my head rent-free from time to time, I decided to explore the different interpretations of Nozomi's response in the above-mentioned scene. Some of these were inspired by other analyses I've read elsewhere, whereas others are based on my own perspective.

1. The shape of Nozomi's love for Mizore isn't the same as the shape of Mizore's love for Nozomi

This is perhaps the most straightforward interpretation and also my first thoughts when I watched the scene. All this while, Nozomi is unaware of how much she means to Mizore because Mizore struggles to communicate her feelings to her, so she bases the strength of their friendship on what ties them together - playing in concert band. Additionally, Nozomi is someone who craves external validation on whatever she does (e.g. her proficiency on the flute) - for example, she seeks Niiyama-sensei's implicit approval when she expresses interest in music school, and in the beginning of season 2, prior to rejoining the band, she plays her flute on the school balcony, a place where anyone can hear her. Similarly, she projects this worldview of hers to her relationship with Mizore. So when she hears Mizore tell her everything she loves about her but not a word about how she loves how she plays the flute, it completely breaks down how she thinks about her relationship with Mizore, and after she blurts out her honest thoughts, she bursts into laughter and thanks Mizore. She laughs partly at the realisation of all this, and also in relief that Mizore's love for her is in no way tied to how well she plays the flute. This is in light of her realisation that her musical talent pales in comparison to Mizore's, who has been holding herself back all this while.

2. Nozomi said that to let Mizore (i.e. the bluebird) free

Another popular perspective is that Nozomi said those words to Mizore to figuratively unlock the cage as Liz in order to set the Bluebird free and fly away. Being keenly aware that Mizore has been holding back her full potential on the oboe the entire time because she's afraid to lose her current friendship with Nozomi (the sole reason why she plays the oboe up to this point), she cuts off Mizore's rambling confession with a single "I love Mizore's oboe". By doing so, she's telling her "Please don't hold yourself back, and I want you to go to music school even without me." It's a bittersweet take, but it's what makes this film so beautiful.

3. By saying she loves Mizore's oboe, she also means she loves everything about her

This interpretation of mine is a bit of a cope, though I've briefly explored it in the last chapter of my Nozomizo fic "Dissonance" (yes this is a shameless plug for my fics on ao3, I've written a few new Hibike fics recently and comments/kudos are always welcome). Up till this point, the sole reason why Mizore plays the oboe is for Nozomi, and Mizore pours in so much of herself into her oboe playing, to the point where it's a reflection of her current state of emotions. In a sense, when Mizore plays her oboe, she and her oboe are one. So by saying that she loves Mizore's oboe, Nozomi implies that she loves everything about her, and also appreciates Mizore for loving her the way she does by playing the oboe for her sake.

Conclusion:

The beauty of the "I love you" hug scene is that there can be multiple interpretations of the same conversation, and all are valid interpretations that all point to one thing - this moment marks an important change in the way Nozomi and Mizore see their relationship. I'm sure there are many more perspectives others have about this scene that are equally valid, but these are the ones that are more popular and/or based on my own perspective after watching this film thrice and this particular scene many more times.

In the meantime, to show my gratitude, here's a sneak peak of Wednesday's chapter of 'Love is the Thing Full of Cares and Fears':

The door opened; the familiar tinkling sound rang out, and Willow's Pavlovian response was to look up.

Her heart squeezed.

The man – the beautiful, tragically taken man – had appeared in the doorway as though uncertain of his reception. Willow reminded herself that he had done absolutely nothing wrong and put on her best customer service face.

“I’m, er…” He pointed vaguely in the direction of the bathroom. “If that’s okay…?”

“Go right ahead!” And perhaps it was a little too bright for a strictly professional insistence, because he half-winced and hurried out from under her scrutiny.

Willow didn’t have time to heave a sigh before the woman, Luz, was following.

“Wait, Hunter!”

He did so.

“Gimme your wallet.”

Was it Willow’s imagination, or did his eyes snap worriedly in her direction before he responded?

“Don’t you have money of your own?”

“Please?”

He gave a small huff and a shake of his head, but complied with the wheedling request by handing her the desired article.

Luz grinned. “Want anything?”

“Another coffee.”

She saluted and headed over to where Willow had to pretend as though she hadn’t been unreasonably interested in the very normal exchange. “Hey!” Luz had ready a bright, toothy greeting as Willow stiffened back into what she hoped was a normal posture, ready to receive orders. “Had to come back: some of those cakes in there look amazing.”

“Oh, yes. These ones are baked by the owner and her mum. They’re really good.”

“Dairy free?”

Willow pointed to a couple. “These ones are.”

“Great! I’ll have a slice of the blueberry and coconut cake, please. Oh, and an Americano.”

“Sure thing.”

What, she would later wonder in a sort of relieved cringing, possessed her to say what she said next? It wasn’t necessary: it almost made it sound as though she were trying to apologise for her earlier interest in Hunter to his girlfriend without saying it in so many words. Thank goodness she had, though, because otherwise who knew where things would have gone, if anywhere? But it was still enough to have her scrunching her face up into her pillow and rolling about in agonies on her bed in later days.

“You two are cute,” she murmured as she handed Luz the plate of cake.

“Hm?”

“You and your boyfriend.” Willow gestured in the vague direction of the bathroom. “You’re very sweet together.”

For a moment or two, Luz stared at her. 2. AOKO

Wow. I realised just how little brain space I dedicate to her... but she's also so silly. I love her so much. She's a great character to pair up with Kaito (for any relationships, I love when they're having fun together.) She doesn't need more suffering <3

I love sm how in MK1412 they added extra scenes of the Ekoda gang! And Aoko looks so cute in it! (everyone else? ... it varies)

Now this is a hella hot take but I personally think KaiAo is much more interesting than ShinRan (for me). And fun too, because I've always been drawn to fun and teasing dynamics like these over the more romantic ones (if you get what I mean by more romantic). KaiAo and Shinran both are such wonderful couples though. *Bangs fists on table* THEY'RE BOTH SO UNBEARABLE CUTEEE

Someone told me I have very similar vibes to Aoko and I've been reevaluating myself XDD. No but I can see it. I think we have a similar energy (in my brain at least, I'm much more tired when I go out) and even preferred fashion.

3. SHINICHI/CONAN

Drawing was inspired by that scene where Conan gets suspicious of Hanzawa-san (from The Culprit Hanzawa, a spinoff of dcmk.)

Ok, so the thing is, I have a very strange relationship with him.

He's so silly, right? He so fun, he's adorable, so caring and well meaning, but I'm scared of him. I wouldn't want to meet him. I'm terrified even though he's so nice 😭. So I'd rather observe from a distance (hence the drawing ^ but I'd definitely set off his senses a lot.)

(What does it say about me that I'm scared of Shin/Cone but not Kaito? I'm working on overcoming my fear of Conan/Shin, I promise *on my hands and knees* I REALLY AM)

(My irl friend understands why I'm so terrified, I've explained the crazy stunts he's done and his very illegal spy equipment to them... they actually got a nightmare about Conan that night. He's such a law breaking little gremlin (affectionate)) So...no kisses for you, detective... only because I'm too intimidated 😭 But I'll gladly make content dedicated to you and fawn over you <3

If it's not already obvious, Kai > Shin/Cone for me. But he's definitely a close second.

Shin's/Cone's aesthetic? So peak. His detective work and general vibes with the series is so banging. That clean formal attire - I love wearing more formal stuff out. Being judged for it? At this point I don't really care hahaha. His mismatching outfits are so endearing, but I don't really vibe with them.

Canon is kinda frustrating for me. Well, as usual, I love to pick out the pieces I love and keep them dear to my heart. Ugh I want more identity issues and character relationship focuses. And more Shinran, this is literally ridiculous for slowburn lol.

General Updates

I recently lost one of my jobs and I'm probably going to be quitting another one that just isn't working out...

So for the time being, I'm gonna have ample time for fanart, fanfics, and character analyses.

I have this currently pinned, but I'll link it here again anyway. I wrapped up my Professor Venomous centric fic "Not Quite an Elevator Pitch" last Friday. You can find the full thing here:

It's now part of a fic series I'm calling "Let's Go On More Adventures, K.O.!" The next fic I'm working on is "Hot Coffee: A Joe Cuppa Love Story!" This one is gonna be more goofy and lighthearted.

I'm debating on a Boxman-centric companion piece to Elevator Pitch, but it'll be awhile. I need a break after this last one! Not Quite an Elevator Pitch came from a pretty...personal place for me.

Also, I definitely want to watch through O.K. K.O. again so I can get back to character analysis stuff. After Carol, I decided to add Raymond and K.O. based on the requests I got in my open call for fic and/or character analysis requests.

K.O. and T.K.O. are the same character, so it doesn't make sense to me to cover them separately. T.K.O. is a visual allegory for separating "dark, negative" thoughts from the generally friendly, positive kid K.O. is. If he acknowledges this "dark" side, he's worried that it interferes with and warps who he is as a hero. Othering these feelings is a coping mechanism.

The K.O. one is gonna be a beast so that one will be pending for awhile. I might even split that into a couple different parts for my own sanity.

I feel about it deeply simply because I also wrote this at a very memorable time in my life. I channeled a lot of shit into that thing, hence my unlimited overprotectiveness and fondness for it.

If it's okay, Gray and Laxus headcanons? I saw these little clips of them from the fairy tail video game and it was so funny and endearing to me

Another shameless self-plug cuz this is about to be my most-read fic.

Also there is no art of Gray and Laxus even near each other because search engines only ever generate content for other ships when I try to search them. And there's exactly 5 posts in the #graxus tag. So here, have this image I stole from CBR.

These two kind of end up being the power couple of Fairy Tail? Nobody expected it but their relationship is much less dramatic and more stable than most.

These two are both loyal lovers whose love language is favors and acts of service. They have to do relatively little speaking in order to understand each other and their affections.

Laxus has so much pride in Gray. Back in the Battle of Fairy Tail, he was calling the guy a loser. By the time Gray stalked off to go kill Mard Geer, Laxus was like "I can't not date him".

They can commonly be found touching each other in small ways--arms around shoulders, usually, but also heads on shoulders or in laps, or even just holding hands occasionally. The casual PDA isn't too dramatic, but it's consistent.

This is because of the way their magics interact. Laxus radiates his magic, which feels very electric and tingly if he isn't restraining it, while Gray radiates cold, molecules slowing down around him. The two end up balancing each other out and when they touch, they provide each other a strange sense of equilibrium and contentment.

"I always thought your necklace was kind of cool." "I always thought your scar was hot."

The two are both punk-adjacent and enjoy a lot of the same hobbies and aesthetics, with Gray leaning slightly more emo and Laxus leaning slightly more rock. Their dates are surprisingly fun.

Gray is always wearing Laxus' clothes. Everybody knows what it means and he doesn't deny it--except that he also wears Laxus' clothes just because he can. Do they fit? No. Is he still able to make them look halfass decent on him? Yes.

There is something very magical when Laxus kisses Gray that makes the latter just want to stick to him like glue and do it forever. Likewise, when Gray kisses him, Laxus can't help but smile.

These two literally make the front page of fashion magazines when modeling together, they just have insane photogenic qualities.

"Bro" and "babe" are interchangeable, they both answer to either.

Laxus actually proposes after a few years together. He thought about a diamond ring hidden in an ice box but didn't want Gray to swallow it trying to eat the ice.

Gray, unlike a lot of people Laxus is shipped with, doesn't like sex rough or super-energetic. To him it's more about intimacy and exploring the other's body, and Laxus is very receptive to this kind of sex. They're slow, gentle, and relatively quiet.

Gray is not actually an exhibitionist, despite his unconscious stripping. He will become one, though, if the opportunity arises and he's got a desire to give head. Gray is fantastic at oral sex and loves doing it whenever he can, so Laxus has successfully swayed him into ducking into an alley for a quickie or even a blowjob in the back of a taxi. unnamed freak (i always call him donny because that's the name i gave him in my other fic - shameless plug, read small town here!) is a top, eddie is the jungler, gareth is mid, jeff is bot and they've recently lost their support so they need to find someone to sub in for support in their promotion match, in comes: steve harrington who learned to play the game because robin needed a lane partner (she's also a bot laner) OR here's a wild thought: i make this x reader and make her robin's second bestie and add the storyline of "oooh first female player in the league, gotta prove her worth to all these nerds"

nancy and steve as their team managers!!!! robin as their coach (she enlists erica as their data analyst and dustin as her assistant coach), murray and hop as the org owners, joyce is the team mom ofc. jonathan and argyle are their biggest supporters, argyle and will do merch and jonathan takes care of social media and marketing. i'm losing my mind someone stop me i need to finish writing small town ch13 NOT GET ANOTHER WIP
