you know, we talk a lot about characters and/or relationships (of all kinds) being 'doomed by the narrative' around here, and how haunting and gut-wrenching that can be, especially when it so often takes the form of death and destruction and tragedy.

and we should keep doing that, obviously. death and destruction and tragedy kick total ass.

however. can we please spare a thought for the clowns trapped in that same (burning) room?

after all, what is a comic relief character if not doomed by the narrative to always act like a buffoon despite any and all circumstances, all for the sake of relieving narrative tension?

how must it feel, to have everyone around you dropping dead, losing limbs, losing loved ones, and otherwise being on the receiving end of unending torment - and all you can do is stand there and prattle off another zinger at your allotted time?

and what if you lose a loved one yourself, o jester mine? what if - hear me out - you lose multiple loved ones? what if it never ends? what will you do then?

well, if you're lucky, you'll get to mourn for all five of the seconds you're allowed to before the size thirty shoes go back on and the narrative moves on to other, more plot-central characters.

if you're not - well. it's a good thing clown makeup is waterproof, isn't it?

anyway, shout out to all my comedy kings out there doomed to play perpetual funnyman to their more plot-central counterparts despite being in undeniably comparable pain. you may be doomed by the narrative, but you are beloved by me <3

Taco permadeath in the finale would be so heartbreaking for a couple reasons but Do you know how messed up it would be if Microphone permadied.. especially before Taco got a chance to rekindle their relationship, or at the very least apologise. Especially if she died in front of Taco Or trying to save or protect Taco, even if she hadn’t made things right yet. What if Taco has to live with that guilt of not only Mic sacrificing herself for her but it was before she ever got to apologise. Mic still cared about her enough to die to save her, and she feels it should’ve been her, that she didn’t deserve that, especially coming from Mic. Taco knew what she did to Mic was bad, she felt sorry, she’s been living with a guilt already of what happened between her and Mic and now she just gained even more guilt. Microphone saw she was in danger, and she was still upset, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t care about Taco anymore. She rushed in to save her and ended up being the one to get hurt. Taco got to watch as her only true friend dies for her sake. The one person who truly cared for her, and they weren’t even on good terms at the time. She’d have to forever live with herself knowing she never got to fix things between them, yet she still helped her. She’d feel unworthy of it. She’d forever wonder why Mic would want to save someone like her

I think what makes Mic's moustache so iconic is the fact he's not the kind of guy who should have a moustache in the first place, at least not in the style he does. When I think pencil moustache I think; chef, gentleman, artist, otherwise refined fellow. Not someone who dresses in all-leather, screams for a living and improv raps. This guy looks like he listens to Beastie Boys, stinks of patchouli oil and knows who Sid Vicious was. From a character design perspective, I could understand a scruffy beard, but not the finely manicured facial hair he canonically possesses. He adopts the 80s Brit Punk style, but I don't know of a single punk musician from that era with a moustache. Why he decided to grow this pointy lip adornment is beyond me. But because of these factors, it really smacks you in the face upon first viewing.

Think of the other contestants of the stache-off polls so far. The king from Katamari. It makes sense for him to have some impressive facial hair, he's a king, he's regal. Dr Wily. He's a doctor. He wears a lab coat, a moustache practically comes with the territory. But Mic? No way.

It's rebellious, it's out there, it's out of the norm. And that, I believe, is what makes Mic truly punk.

Guys I’ve just seen a take so completely outrageous so I just wanna point out something one of the creators of total drama (Terry) has said in recent times

None of the contestants would have hate towards gay people

I also think it’s kind of weird to just give characters the homophobic/transphobic headcanon just because of how they look or how their attitude is?? Completely insane

Also just saying criticizing/negatively questioning people on their lgbtq+ headcanons for characters is literally insane. It’s called a headcanon for a reason?? It’s never been confirmed except for a few characters?? Like come on, let’s be serious for a few moments !

I will literally never get over the fact that Microphone went in front of Taco’s readied gun. She knew she wasn’t going to hurt her. She knew even though Taco was showing her bad side, she wasn’t going to put any harm on her (physically, that is). And she goes into her line of fire. it’s just so UUGGHH I hate them so much. Microphone wouldn’t just do that no matter who was holding the gun, she’s constantly showing she’s afraid of conflict and confrontation throughout the season, but she put her trust in Taco. I’ve seen people say Taco and Mic never formed any type of bond and I just do not get that. Throughout ep13 Mic tries to get Taco to talk about what happened in the lab because she’s Concerned about her. Taco gives Mic an apology (not the most sincere thing you’ll hear, but she tried) and Mic appreciates it. In the beginning of ep14 they’re literally laughing together as they talk. They had formed a bond over time and they both cared about each other. One sided tacomic is cool or whatever sure But I just don’t see it. They both relied on each other in their own ways. And to the people who think Taco didn’t care the entire time I don’t get that either. Sure in the very beginning when the partnership initiated, she went after Mic solely because she saw something in her that she thought could help her win the money, but over time she started to care more and more about her. There’s that whole thing about how she went against her word in ep14 to try to give Microphone what Taco thought she had wanted and then Mic leaves and Taco is Devastated. Why would taco be so genuinely distraught over the fact their partnership ended and Mic was leaving her. She’s sad because not only is she going to be lonely again, but she’s losing her friend. Her only friend left. The only person who gave her trust and support for years. She’s Sad. If she only cared about the money she wouldn’t be so sad, she’d be Angry, she’d be trying to get Mic to reconsider, she’d be getting other plans to get this money, in ep15 she says she doesn’t care about the money anymore. She lost the one person who cared and she realised this is about a lot more than just money
