hii this is really random but i'm writting a paper on star trek fanfiction from the 60s/70s and i was wondering if there were any fics youd recommend? are there any like iconic, keystone fics that are really significant to the fandom? (i'm having a bit of trouble sourcing pre-internet fics)
Hi! I'll try to help the best I can but I am by no means an expert- in fact, many people who end up seeing this may have better/more information so I'll extend it to any of them to answer as well :)
Disclaimer: many of the following links contain nsfw content!!!
Here is page 1 and page 2 of what might be the first known k/s fanfic published in Grup fanzine (1974). Grup is credited as being the first Star Trek fanzine with adult content. This fic, A Fragment Out of Time by Diane Marchant was vague enough that it had to be clarified as k/s in a later edition, but the author did do so.
Spockanalia is always a good source for early fandom. It is the earliest and best preserved example of fanzine content (beginning in 1967 before the second season had even aired). I'd definitely say that makes it influential! So much more can be found on the internet archive and on fanlore. Copies of Spockanalia found their ways into the hands of many people involved in the show, including Roddenberry himself.
Gayle F is a prolific fanzine artist (one of my favorites) for k/s and is also influential to k/s writing. She was behind the Cosmic Fuck Series (yes really lol) which begins with Desert Heat (1976) in which Spock prematurely enters his second Pon Farr with only Jim available to him. This is the first mention (that I know of) of Spock's "double ridges" which are still a fanon element of his anatomy today (fanlore link here).
Alexis Fegan Black is another name to know, but is actually the pen name for author Della Van Hise. She did a lot of her work in the 80s and beyond, so I'm not sure how helpful this will be, but I think she's very influential. You may know about her licensed trek novel Killing Time (1982) because the first edition was recalled for being way too gay (changes between the two versions are best documented here imo).
Jenna Sinclair was very influential but again, a lot of her works came a little later than what you're looking for (note: ao3 does NOT have the correct dates, you'll need to find those separately).
A few more links to throw at you:
List of Star Trek Fanzines
List of Star Trek SLASH Fanzines
Captain's Log (1968)
The Crewman's Log (1967)
Spock's Showcase (1968)
Spock's Underground (1968-71)
The Sensuous Vulcan (slash zine, 1977)
Thrust (slash zine, 1978)
I hope all these links work and at least something I mentioned is helpful for you!! Good luck! I'd love to hear about your research if you're so inclined to share :)

June Creator of the Month: Thosehallowedhalls
Please welcome this month’s Creator of the Month is @thosehallowedhalls.
Each month, CFWC highlights one of our talented fanfic writers or artists. The writer or artist is selected at random. More info can be found on the navigation page. Past COTM's can be found here.
Quick Links:
Tumblr Blog Masterlist
1- When did you start playing Choices? What was the first book you played?
I can't remember exactly. 2021, I think? Laws of Attraction was on its tenth chapter.
2- When and why did you join Choices fandom?
I joined in January of this year. I was upset with Crimes of Passion 2, so I wrote a couple of stories about it. I had deactivated my old Tumblr long ago, so I had to open a new one.
3- How did you pick your blog name?
I love old buildings - the history, the ambiance. I tried hallowedhalls, but it was taken, so I added the article.
4- Pull up the first post in your archive, and tell us about it!
I… have zero recollection of this post. But I'm big on nostalgia and mourning past times, so the fact that this was my first post tracks.
5- Do you write fanfiction, create fan art, or are you one of those really gifted people who do both?
I write fanfiction. I've been teaching myself to draw, but I'm not anywhere near close to sharing what I do.
6- How long have you been creating for Choices and for any other fandoms?
I started writing fanfiction way back in… 2010? For about four or five years. Then I stopped until December 2023.
7- What is your favorite Choices book, and what is your favorite Choices book to create for?
Crimes of Passion on both counts.
8- Share your first Choices fanfic or fan art that you posted with us. Do you still like it, or would you change it if you were creating it today?
That would be The 2 AM Christmas Tree Farm, inspired by The Midnight Library by Matt Haig. I do still like it, but I would tighten up the writing a bit. I had barely written any fiction for several years at that point, and the lack of practice shows.
9- What is your favorite piece of fiction or art that you created?
I keep going back and forth between The 2 AM Christmas Tree Farm and Home Without. Both are angsty short series.
10- Do you have a fic/art that you didn’t expect to be well received, but it was? What about one you expected to do well but found it could use a little more love?
I was taken aback by the comments on The 2 AM Christmas Tree Farm. I'd posted it on AO3 a few weeks before, and had gotten a handful of kudos and one comment, but within 24 hours of posting it here, I had several lovely reblogs. It was a welcome surprise. Stories with fewer comments… I guess Home Without. The first chapter got quite a bit of love, but by the time the final chapter rolled around, fewer people were interacting.
11- If you could write only angst, fluff, or smut for the rest of your writing life, which would it be and why?
I love a balance, but I'd say angst with a happy ending. I enjoy the breadth of emotions angst lets you explore.
12 - Do you ever recognize yourself in any of your MCs or in your writing?
There are bits and pieces of me in all of them. Emma has my sarcasm, and Raine has my need to look for the best in people. There may be more, but if so, it wasn't done intentionally.
13 - What element of writing/art do you struggle with most?
Perfectionism. Like I said before, the lack of writing practice shows. I know that the only way to get better is to keep writing, but I hate seeing the gap between what I do and what I want to do. Catch-22.
14 - Do you have any neglected work you really want to finish?
My Sebastyan x Emma fic, Of Cloudless Climes and Starry Skies. There are only a couple of chapters left, but I've been struggling with it for a couple of months now.
15 - If someone you know in real life (who isn’t involved in fandoms) asked to see your work, would you let them? If yes, what would you show them first?
Oh, hell no.
16 - Are there any writers (published authors and/or fanfic writers) who influenced your writing or art? Are there any artists that influence you?
So many writers have influenced my writing throughout the years, including authors I do not currently read. The Brontë sisters, Charles Dickens, Nora Roberts, Jane Austen, Courtney Milan, Alyssa Cole… I could go on and on. Fanfic writers… There are a lot, but off the top of my head, @inlocusmads, @coffeewithcutcaffeine, @gaiuskamilah, @aria-ashryver, @jerzwriter, @dutifullynuttywitch, @aces-and-angels, @petalouda85, and @storyofmychoices. I know there are more.
17- Which one of your stories would you most like to see as a movie/series?
Home Without. I'm a sucker for good pining, and I'd love to see all that mutual longing play out onscreen - not to mention that reunion.
18- Do you write original fiction or create non-fandom art?
I do. I'm currently working on a horror short story, a MG novel, and a dual timeline mystery that's still in the research stages.
19- What other hobbies do you have?
Reading, non-fandom writing, drawing, learning new things (especially languages!), going on walks, and drinking enough coffee to alarm medical professionals anywhere.

I've been watching the ranma remake and really enjoying it - I never watched the OG but I was obsessed with inuyasha and really wanted to be into """anime""" so I knew a lot about it. idk if I'm brave enough to venture into ao3 looking for fic yet because. man. I wish I could have been able to watch ranma before the gender fandom existed. I know you aren't so much an anime-watcher as manga-reader but you've reblogged ranma gifs so :3 got any ranma thoughts?
ohhh ranma 1/2 was baby's first manga that i read in its entirety.... i haven't watched the entire anime but i've seen select episodes and both feature-length films, hot take but i actually prefer the dub! especially akane's voice and ranma's later voice (they would later go on to do inuyasha and kagome's voices, a nice long career of yelling each other's names lmao)
akane tendo is one of my all-time favorite characters, i first got the idea to cut my very long hair short bc of her, she's still on a pedestal for me and in a better world she would have had a big power-up arc... the shounen curse of girls getting left behind ://
i've read quite a lot of fic over the years and it was probably the first series i ever wrote fanfic for. it's... interesting to consider it from a modern perspective, since the original series didn't exactly age well in some areas. i would say that the main theme could be described as "toxic masculinity" - the main conflict is ranma eventually having to come to terms with his "girl side" while still being considered a man among men. i guess the ~queer~ interpretation would be that he's some flavor of trans, which is funny because the whole series is about playing with gender roles... to the extent that a 30-40 something year old straight japanese woman in the 80s and 90s is willing to challenge gender roles. it's not perfect is what i'm saying, there's still misogyny and homophobia.
in the translation i read years ago, one of the antagonists straight-up insults ranma by calling him a transvestite. and there's a really unfortunate storyline where the protagonists are trying to "correct" a girl who's attracted to ranma in female form, but the punchline is actually it was a crossdressing boy! you can be gender non-conforming as long as you're straight :))
but it was a big deal to me when i first read it bc it depicted characters whose gender non-conformity was just part of them with the underlying message that that's just the way some of us are and it's fine. and ranma ultimately accepts that he's not any less of a man just bc of his "girl side" (which can be seen as one big metaphor for having a "feminine" side). i do get annoyed when people apply trans headcanons to these characters because it misses the point, it's basically saying well actually they ARE less of a man/woman and i'm like 😐 did we read the same series
but anyway yes i have lots of ranma thoughts 😭 too many in fact!!
#answered#weeb hours#i am soooo so sorry it took me this long to respond but november completely got away from me#it started with going to the er and my arm being fucked up for a week from the iv and snowballed from there gjkfhsgjkfd#now that i have a good hold of november it has decided to be december so fuck me i guess!!#but i will answer my asks if it kills me!!!!

About Me
I figured I should do this. No idea why. Anyway, it'll get updated... whenever I feel like it should get updated.
Tumblr bio (because it's somehow getting cut off and I don't like that): I'm Josh. 32. Unapologetically Jewish & Zionist. History geek, nerd, and Francophone. I write fanfics on AO3. Slytherin ambition with Gryffindor nerve. Blank/empty/anti-Zionist and antisemitic blogs will be blocked. This blog stands with Ukraine and Israel.
What's your name?
Sir Lancelot of Camelot (and my quest is to seek the Holy Grail) It's Josh [surname redacted]. Pronouns are he/him.
You're on AO3?
I am! I'm currently writing a Wrong-Boy-Who-Lived fanfic (yes, yes, I know, WBWL stories have a... reputation...).
What fandoms do/will you write?
Predominantly Harry Potter if only because that series was my first love and still has a place in my heart. I'm also planning a few fanfics in the Mass Effect, DC, Star Trek, Game of Thrones, original fiction, and Fallout fandoms.
Why?
Well it all started when I was born...
Who are your fanfic idols/inspirations?
@artemisia-black, hands down. She is one of the finest writers I've ever seen, ever had the privilege of interacting with, and I genuinely adore her as a person.
But I'm also a big fan of Frickles, TheSinister_Man, Dorothea Greengrass, and TheEndless7.
What kind of fanfics do you write?
If it's Harry Potter, it's either a Wrong Boy-Who-Lived (WBWL) fic — either with Harry's brother as the believed to be Boy-Who-Lived or Neville as the believed to be Boy-Who-Lived. Or it'll be "action-adventure" where canon diverts this way instead of that way.
Ships?
I mean the USS Massachusetts is pretty neat, but that's also because I was able to visit it when I was a kid.
No, I mean, who do you ship?
Ohhhh!
I'm not a fan of Harry/Ginny, nor Ron/Hermione. Actually, the only canon pairings I like are James/Lily and Ted/Andromeda... that's pretty much it.
For Harry: Lavender (she'd be great for him ngl), Hermione (eh, sometimes), Pansy (enemies to lovers is top tier), Daphne (Haphne is a top tier ship and everyone should know it), Susan, Fleur (I just think she's neat), Tonks (post-war), Andromeda (post-war), Parvati, Padma, and Bellatrix (when it involves time travel).
Most out-there ship you've got?
Ron/Pansy, Hermione/Cormac or Anthony Goldstein/Hermione, Draco/Ginny. Also Kingsley/Bellatrix, Sirius/Aurora Sinistra, and Snape/getting his ass handed to him.
Most cursed ship you've seen?
[trauma intensifies] We don't go there. But I've seen some shit.
What character(s) do you hate the most?
Snape. I despise Severus Snape with every fiber of my being. The fact that Harry names his son after that child-abusing terror supporting racist wank-stain who simped hard for his mother after calling her a bigoted slur is a stain (and wanted her as a prize after he sold Lily, James, and baby Harry out to Voldemort) is the reason I throw the epilogue into the trash where it belongs.
Also Dumbledore, while I do think he's (for the most part) well-meaning, is very much the chess master who got far too up his own ass with how important he is. Also he facilitated child abuse, so I don't like him.
And Molly Weasley, who is an overbearing harpy of a mother who gleefully and maliciously went out of her way to bully a 15 year old girl because she read some bullshit in the Daily Prophet — when a few chapters before she had dismissed the author (Rita Skeeter) as a hack.
What do you do?
I work for a medical provider's office. Specifically, an ophthalmologist's office. Oh, go get your eyes checked!
Do you like it?
So then what do you want to do?
I'm actually getting myself out there to be an actor! And a writer of works that aren't fanfics.
Are you Zionist?
Yes.
What does that — ?
It means I believe Jews have the right to national self-determination in our ancestral homeland.
But what about — ?
That's literally the definition of Zionism. And yes, I do believe that anti-Zionism is antisemitism.
What if I'm an anti-Zionist?
Get off my blog then. I don’t want you here.

Can I ask your top 10 fav fics ever (from any fandom, if you don't mind)?
Also, just curious, is there a story behind your name "le-panda-chocovore "?
Oh I think I can actually answer that without rambling too much !! (<- took an entire week to answer the ask and select the fics, and I commented on each one of them lol) It won't be a Top in order of preference tho, there's no actual classment, it's just the ones I loved the most.
The Way I Behaved - EraserMic (MHA)
This fanfic gave me the inspiration to write my greatest work (still unfinished to this day) and literally changed so many things about me. It also made me discover a whole genre of music that I've never listened to before and with which I am entirely in love now. Prepare to cry tho, because this is deeply heartbreaking. It's a Villain Mic AU where Aizawa was never a teacher. And it is good.
What if Percy did become a God - Percy Jackson and the Olympians (based on the books !!! do not read if you just watched the show !!!)
The title says everything. This is not a happy story, you will cry, I promise. It's short, like a 1k word OS, it's really poetic, it's deep, it's beautiful, and also, it's painful. Humans were never meant to be gods, not even Percy. It's written like a poem, I read it so many times and it hurt me every time.
Demon and Angel Professors - Ineffable Spouses (Good Omens)
Not a fanfiction but a serie of short works about Crowley and Aziraphale and the people around them. A teachers AU very nice to read with many Original Characters (the students) who are all captivating and appreciable. The story is extremely queer-positive and neurodivergent inclusive and physical handicap representative, honestly, you want to read it. There's everything inside it. If you have chronic pain or if you're a closeted queer or even a curious ally who wants to understand their peers, this is what you need. The love is so pure it's overwhelming.
Honor and Vengeance on the High Sea - Zuko (ATLA)
Tbh this deserves to be published, it's a novel itself (I haven't finished it yet). The author reappropriated the Avatar universe to write something completely new. It's an AU where Zuko becomes a Pirate after his banishment and fights against the Fire Nation Navy, and eventually joins the Avatar's team. There's a whole work around internalized homophobia, the discovery of the self, acceptance, injustice, family trauma and everything. Original Characters are cool too. Chapters are long and very, very complete, you can see the author has historical and cultural knowledge.
Strength, the meaning of - Asano Gakuhou (Assassination Classroom)
I can't believe a fanfic about this total asshole made it to my top 10, but it is beautifully written. The progressive mental breakdown of a man who used to stand proud above everyone, the slow fall down to hell without even realizing it. There's also his son's POV here, which is equally beautifully written. I really hate the man and I don't like the fact that the end of AssClass completely disregard the consequences of what happened on the character's mental state, and reading how even him wasn't okay at all is very pleasant to read. That's karma my bitch.
Je suis assis - BokuAka (Haikyuu)
Yeah it's in french and on wattpad. It has been a while since I read it but I still remember the principal. It's a OS anyway so it's not very long (we didn't do that 20k words OS on Wattpad, this madness is only popular on AO3 lol). Since I'm sensitive to everything that is around handicap, it touched me. It ended up being cute and warm. Honestly I was more thinking of another BokuAka fanfiction but I couldn't remember the name nor found it online so I put this one.
25 - Riren (SnK)
Yeah yeah I know, pedo ship etc, but I was 14 and this is a High School AU where they're both 16 so, it's okay I guess. Yes the name of the fanfic is twenty-five. It's in french, it's on wattpad, and there's Eren's POV too. I don't know how I'm supposed to describe it... I think you have to read it, it's not actually strange or weird but, it's a whole experience.
Here there be dragons - Centennial Husbands (the Sandman)
This is the exact definition of love. What is love to me ? This fanfiction. Engagement, devotion, caring, this is it, this fanfic has the meaning of all these words. I had a hard time reading it because I hate ultra-long OS (I need CHAPTERS, give me a BREAK) but it was soooo enjoyable, and I was crying the whole time 'cause it's so pure and beautiful.
Palm to Palm - KaRen (Assassination Classroom)
Yes I am a part of the extremely tiny fandom that ships Karma and Ren (I do ship Karma with multiple people throughout the manga lmao) but only in THIS specific context. And this is beautifully written, I can't stop re-reading it. Also, the name of the ship makes me laugh. Karma and Ren relationship after losing Gakushuu -the boy they both love above everything else- is peak romance.
Le goût du chocolat - L x Light (Death Note)
I honestly don't remember a thing about this fanfiction except a single sentence, but I do know that I totally fell in love with it. It was one of my fave fanfic when I was full active on Wattpad, and I even archived it because I didn't want to lose it. I should read it again now that I found it again.
Alright that's 10 !!! Finally !!
Oh it was so fun to fall back into all the things I read before ! But it was harder than I expected because, well, I only have AO3 for 3 years and I've been on Wattpad for 7 years, but I started reading fanfiction even before that, I just didn't have any account back then. So, I kinda forgot about some of the things I read more than 4 years ago, and I couldn't find the gems I discovered when I was 12. Most of the books that made out to this list are my recent lectures, it's a bit biased I guess.
Anyway, thank you for the ask ! It was fun to analyze all my bookmarks and everything !

(INTRO BEGINS UNDER THE DIVIDER) Tumblr doesn't let u pin multiple posts, so here's some posts I would pin too if I could :D
Watch me go insane in real time
Crazy? I was crazy once
More about asks
More about me but in the form of a bad joke
Art (and not just art) resources
Intro? Intro. I've decided to actually engage with OTHER HUMAN BEINGS. Sometimes. Occasionally. To talk about my silly little thoughts and silly little writing.
Agender, any pronouns/terms (neutral preferred), Aroace
I'm working on an original book called "Bound By Name". It has its own tag and if you want to know about it, be sure to check out #Bound By Name (intro post about it here) (I don't post much about it but I am in the process of writing!)
Author/fanfic writer
Bilingual (English/Czech)
My ao3
Askbox always open! Speak to me! Also if you have fic prompts or ideas you think I'd like/want me to write, throw them in there too!
DMs always open but say what you want right in the first message because I might not answer or panic block
Spam liking/reblogging/commenting is A-OK. I love to see people enjoying my silly little posts
Moot = can interact anytime all the time as much as they like I literally can't say how much I appreciate all of them
I mainly write SBI and beeduo (yes, in 2024) and talk about random stuff
All of my fics are strictly about the characters! All of them! Every single one!
Way more WIPs than completed works
Expect me talking about discontinued works, unfinished works, or those on hiatus, but I'll only be posting the finished ones on ao3! That's why they're taking so long
I only write for the DSMP fandom but some of my other interests include: Dead Boy Detectives, D&D, Detroit: Become Human, EPIC: The Musical, Project SEKAI, Wuthering Waves, Hazbin Hotel/Helluva Boss, The Magnus Archives and maybe getting into the life series
CRINGE IS FUCKING DEAD DO WHAT YOU WANT
DNI: Basic DNI, just don't be weirdchamp and we'll probably get along. I really don't think I mind anyone with basic human decency. If I dislike something you do I'll just block
Not siding with anyone on any cc drama ever. All I'll say is do your research and base your opinions on concrete proof and verified facts. I might have my own opinion, but I will not be voicing it.
Blinkies and tag sorting under cut!
Tag sorting (started 22.05.2024 so anything earlier isn't gonna have them. Also I just forget to add them sometimes)
#textpost.bzzt - generic post that I made. Includes asks because I don't get enough of them to justify making a separate tag
#rbees.bzzt - reblogs. Can you tell I'm proud of that pun?
#artbees.bzzt - specifically art reblogs. Can you tell I'm even more proud of that pun? (I tend to reblog art multiple times, only one will be tagged)
#fandom.bzzt - fandom related posts. Can be any fandom. Reblogs won't have it, mainly because I'm lazy
#mootsies.bzzt - anything related to my mutuals
#personal.bzzt - stuff that might be a bit more personal/talking about my personal life. No I'm not doxxing myself, just talking about my pets or experiences or whatever
#writing.bzzt - anything writing related
#onceinafullmoonramble.bzzt - my once in a full moon rambles. They're longer than my usual posts and can be about literally anything
#horizonverse.bzzt - anything related to the fanfic series "Event Horizon" by Hellenite on ao3. Will not be tagged with fandom or fic tags most of the time because I don't wanna spam them. I didn't have any part in the creation of it, it's just my special interest
#genshin dsmp fusion - a random au I post about that features the DSMP as a new genshin region and the members as playable characters! It's not a fic and I don't plan on writing it into one, I'm just rambling about my ideas for it. Also mind this when reading about it!
(Made w https://blinkies.cafe, divider by cafekitsune)
#lars fic intros#<- if you don't know what a fic is go there and itll be explained#if its not then i didn't officially say it yet#pinned post#pinned intro

Trying something a little different today.
Inspired by the incomparable @alchemicallymoon, I'm going to do a postmortem commentary on my latest fanfiction. If you haven't read "Stone-Cold Lovers" Chapter 3 on AO3, now's your chance!
I've done similar things in the past, with my Pre-Preparation of Shiver post for "Splatoon B-Mix," but I'm really testing the waters to make this a more regular occurrence — possibly even going back to older works. If you enjoy, let me know!
Tons of rambling beneath the cut. You've been warned <3
Alright. I can't think of any better place to begin talking about "Stone-Cold Lovers" than to mention it's a classic piece (in the era sense, though also in the literary sense). I started publishing fanfic in 2019, right around the time I was graduating from college. A bunch of pieces I wrote are still exclusively available on FanFiction.net, but I've slowly been transitioning them with a fresh coat of paint.
"Stone-Cold Lovers" was the sixth story I published on FanFiction. As I mentioned in Chapter 1 of the AO3 version, it came back to mind after Pokemon Masters EX introduced a Halloween alt for Roxanne.
youtube
Pokemon Crystal was my first "real" video game (not counting educational content like Sesame Street games), but Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire began my infatuation with the series. This was partially due to the fact that I could read the text on my own, which meant I could keep replaying to do little challenge runs.
===
Fun Fact: One of the most prominent challenge runs I can recall involved catching a full team of Wingull. I named the Pelipper of my team "Sergeant," and the rest had other army designations. I would later copy this idea using shiny Ambipom and Aipom in HeartGold and SoulSilver that I obtained through entirely legal means for a rare item Pickup group.
===
More Fun Fact: My favorite challenge run to this day is completing Pokemon FireRed with a single Clefable. I always really liked how many TMs a single Clefable could learn.
===
All of that is to say I seared Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald into my brain by playing it all the time on the schoolyard and at my grandparents' house in Florida. It remains my favorite region to this day. However, I didn't fall in love with Roxanne until the Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire character designs came out.
Important note: I have shipping charts for basically every character-heavy... Anything. Something about pairing people up always makes my brain go brr. My body of creative writing speaks to many of the headcanons I've whipped up over the years. Similarly, I have headcanons about which Pokemon protag serves as the "main character" or "rival" in each title.
Yes, you can ask about my opinions. I will undoubtedly answer.
Brendan and Roxanne came into this framework because as much as I also love Brendan and May, I quickly fell into the rabbit hole of Brendan Champion/May Contest Idol, and therefore I'm legally obligated to ship May and Lisia. My original FanFiction Author Note says I'd been thinking about the idea for "a while," but frankly I don't remember where exactly it originated. All I know is that my goal was May scolding Brendan for being an oblivious dope.
This is not autobiographical.
As far as I know.
My truest sense-memory regarding this piece is writing the Rustboro opening in a Barnes & Noble parking lot at night, on the same night that I scored a new freelance gig (it didn't last all too long in the end). However, I helpfully noted that the Brendan and May banter was inspired by a FanFiction story called "Critical Hit" by Alphinia (it's still live!) and Carly Chaikin's Darlene from Mr. Robot. That was ending in 2019. Pokemon Sword and Shield were about to come out. The timeline lines up.
It's also very funny to imagine May as a raunchy, tomboyish smartass who also happens to love the fame that comes with princess-y Pokemon Contest shenanigans. Good headcanon.
The seeds of an idea for a date follow-up existed back then. My first inkling was to do a scene where, essentially, Brendan fucks the whole thing up by using Sandstorm in the middle of a food court because he's trying to impress Roxanne. Most of the set dressing around that, such as using ORAS' Street Thug trainer class (here portrayed by Shio — after ramen to reference the naming scheme of every trainer in Mauville Food Court), came later.
===
Fun Fact (again): This is the first piece I've written using a new program called StimuWrite by Eve Harms, which was suggested by my beta reader. I liked being able to put my brain somewhere other than a blank white page, though all of the extra bells and whistles aren't all that necessary for me. Plus, I wound up jumping back-and-forth between the page and my 20 tabs of research anyway, so...
We'll see where this tool lands.
===
A lot of my decisions regarding the style of "Stone-Cold Lovers" Chapter 3 were based on concurrent reading; I recently joined a book club, and we just finished Babel by R.F. Kuang. My experience with Zine editors such as @kiliofdurinsline (Shrapnel) on Homemade in Hyrule (still available to pre-order!!!) helped me focus on creative writing structure and clarity rather than the more "vibes" based approach I leaned on. But Babel's rich descriptions suggested that I perhaps moved too far in the direction of snippets. So, here I tried to more robust scene-setting.
The bit about Gardevoir reading Brendan's emotions is being back on my bullshit trying to capture "vibes," though. I'm often a proponent for Psychic-types having full telepathy, especially Gardevoir given its canon emotional connections, but I decided the silent implications were more fun to play. I'm also a big proponent of leaning into the medium by using all of AO3's formatting HTML for things like Gardevoir's text. Hence my abundance of italics, or even the House of Leaves-style page falling apart for Arven's nightmare in "Paradiso."
Another note from Shrapnel that I took to heart: Give each character a stable of description types to help them emphasize their personality. That's why Gardevoir's movements use ballet terms (many of which I had to look up, like "bras bas").
One bit that I thought about a lot was Roxanne's response to weather talk. I knew that she should flirt by saying any weather would be great alongside Brendan, and the verbiage "would that it were" stuck. A bit of Googling revealed that the phrase doesn't mean what my brain thought it does — it actually refers to wanting a better reality than you currently have. But it rolls off the tongue... So, I decided to play with that disparity by having know-it-all Roxanne correct her old professor, even when recounting a heartfelt memory.
Also, I'd be lying to you if I said goofy teenager who can't speak French wasn't an integral part of my planning.
The battle scene is pretty straightforward, it was mostly fun to incorporate the idea of Brendan being over-leveled by having him immediately wipe the floor with this tough guy, Shio. This especially goes well with the Mauville Food Court gimmick of finishing your battles within set time limits. Hopefully little descriptors like the space-warping Boomburst help make up for how short it is.
But with all of that said, there's only one place left to go:
Roxanne's outfit
That's right! Brendan wears his contest attire, but Roxanne wears an entirely unique creation. I did something very similar to my experiments with Shiver by digging around Tumblr tags for specific outfit pieces to cobble together as part of Roxanne's preppy and academic wardrobe.
I essentially wanted to put Roxanne in an "elevated" version of her typical uniform. For example, something with a nicer blouse. When I saw this post by stiefel-rock-bluse, I knew it was the one. That ruffled 'V' is perfectly suited for comparisons to a fossilized ribcage.
Had to tuck that blouse into a nice skirt, too. I did toy with the idea of going full suit-style with slacks, but Roxanne feels like a skirt girl to me. So I settled on this pleated skirt shared by zoesrepository, at least in-part because I wanted a brown-and-white motif to reflect... Rock stuff.
Having exposed legs also introduced the opportunity to describe a bit of Roxanne's obsession with fossils. If I get callouses on my hands from doing ceramics, she can have some scuffs on her legs from digging in the dirt.
My inspiration for her off-the-shoulder draped jacket is largely me doing silly cape shenanigans with my jackets, but for the style I went with this cover image from an article by The Girl From Panama:
In brown, of course. That really emphasizes the idea that it looks like strata.
Because rocks.
Unrelated to rocks, I was originally toying with a different idea for her jacket, one based on this image of Kendall Jenner uploaded by disarmluna:
Ultimately I liked the draped idea better, but I kept on the idea of it being corduroy. Also, I took Roxanne's "loafers" from here.
For accessories, I riffed on one of my favorite pieces of lore introduced by Pokemon Masters EX: the idea that Steven Stone is in a club with all of the Rock-type experts who love collecting shiny rocks. Steven knows how to give some specialized gifts, and in this case I gave Roxanne a single earring, as shared by gemville, because 1) red; 2) flowers; and 3) stalactite. I went with one rather than a pair because I think it's a cute asymmetrical thing.
Then, of course, I imagine her nails alternate blue and red ala Nosepass/Probopass. Finally, Roxanne's elevated school uniform look had to retain a tie. What better way to keep that tie in place than with a clip inspired by the one, the only, our boy: Anorith.
If the Yanma inhaler from "Peaks and Caverns" is anything to go by, y'all know I love to invent kitschy merchandise that will unfortunately never be acknowledged by Game Freak/The Pokemon Company.
===
That's about all I've got. I'm not sure whether I'll return to this story again — the five-year pipe dream is already a big accomplishment in my book. But I'm really glad I finally closed the book on a longstanding idea in celebration of Valentine's Day! And I'm sure one day, if I can get through the rest of my insane backlog, I'd be happy to write further shenanigans between these two Hoenn lovebirds.

Twenty Questions for Fic Writers
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
somehow I need to write words before typing the number 55 because otherwise this very functioning website fucks up the formatting
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
77,339
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Sad Cops The last ones were for Blind Ermittelt, Detective Anna, Endeavour and Polizeiruf Frankfurt.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
In Which Everybody Regrets Their Life Choices (Daredevil)
The Tale of the Beautiful Professor (Guardian)
Tee Mit Folgen (Tatort Berlin)
Adam, Vincent und die Eule (Polizeiruf Frankfurt)
A Sickbed Visitor (Society of Gentlemen)
OK, technically there's another Daredevil Fic on 2, but it's a collection of shorter fills for a prompt meme so does that count?
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Yes. I try to respond to all but occasionally fall in the "Oh yeah I will do that later" trap where I...y'know...don't do it.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
I had a whole paragraph here, about how I don't usually write Angst and wanted to name a few sort-of-angsty ones, and then I remembered, that I did in fact write Never To Be Told which is very angsty.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
A lot, but Look Not Into My Eyes has a veeeery sappy ending.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
None yet
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
No
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
Well, if you equate "crazy" with "nobody but me wrote it" then it's my Ein Fall For Zwei/Tatort Saarbrücken Crossover. But honestly: a crossover between two crime shows that feature abusive dads whose heads make sudden contact with blunt instruments and the resulting fallout from that is not particularly crazy. I also have this idea for a Blind Ermittelt/Allmen one, but as it's so often the case that's all vibes, no plot so far.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not as far as I know.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Nope.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
I once wanted to, and we even discussed some plot ideas, but then I got ghosted
14. What’s your all time favourite ship?
Yeah, Niko/Alex caught me like few others, but I also always will have a soft spot for Till/Felix
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Currently, I'm having a really hard time with my Alex & Sophie pre-canon fic, because it requires writing Alex shortly after the attack, and I am not sure if I can do that.
16. What are your writing strengths?
I think I'm quite good at character-voices, both in dialogue and when internal-monologuing
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Getting from one scene to the next. Also in dialogues the right amount of surrounding description. I tend to start off with a screenplay, and then turn it into character says one sentence, followed by three paragraphs of description.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I hate it. Either your POV character understands what is said, and then you can tell the audience what is being said, or they don't, and then you just write "they were talking in XY." Don't make me use Google Translate to understand your fic. And don't make me read phrases like heiße schokolade mit gepeitschter creme, because your foreign language knowledge also comes from Google Translate. (That is an example from an actually published book, but my feelings on that transcend the fanfic/pubfic barrier, and I also read enough bullshit in fanfic).
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Harry Potter. As in write-write. I don't think I ever wrote down any of the Sailor Moon self insert I made up.
20. Favourite fic you’ve written?
Hmm I wrote A Sickbed Visitor with me as the target audience in mind, and considering that, I am quite happy that it also ended up being reasonably popular. Because this is the fanfiction for a romance series that doesn't feature one of the main couples but the friendship between two halves of different couples. (Yeah. Having fun writing something is nice. Validation is also nice)
And Es Wird Wieder ein Sommer is well...it's not the same, because it is an Alex/Niko fic, and I always meant it to be one, but it's also about Laura and her relationship with those two and that was lots of fun to think about and write.
No pressure tag for @cricrithings and @tatzelwyrm

I have to just say something
I really, really don't like that the default tag for all Pixlriffs-related fiction on AO3 is this:
RPF stands for 'Real Person Fiction' and it makes me uncomfortable that - when I'm writing fiction about a character portrayed by Jonny AKA Pixlriffs (e.g., the Copper King, the Archaeologist/Historian) as they are in the Empires series - it falls under the same tag as anyone writing about Jonny himself.
Even if you look at the AO3 tag of 'Pixlriffs' it redirects to the above tag.
To me, this is the equivalent of writing LotR fanfic, tagging it with 'Frodo' or 'Aragorn' and having it redirect to 'Elijah Wood' or 'Viggo Mortensen'. It's not about the actors; it's about the characters they portray.
If you're someone who does write RPF/RPS, then that's fine. That's your thing, and I'm not knocking what you like to do. In fact, many (many, because god I'm older than probably most of you reading this - lol) years ago - in a fandom far far away - I dabbled in a bit of that myself. But the older I've gotten, the more I personally get a bit squicked by it, so I'd rather not see it.
And I really don't like that the default tag for the fandom I'm currently writing in includes not only the player's real life name, but also that 'real person fiction' bit :( Even though pretty much all of the fiction I've read there is about the characters and not the people/players themselves; it's just the name of the tag that I don't like.
Sidenote: Yes, there's a whole 'nother load of semantics we could get into, about when you play a character in a game for so long you end up identifying with them, so they become you and you become them etc; believe me, I get that; I've been there myself in a place where I've been playing for over 15 years now. But there's still a separation when you tell a story as that character (e.g., making them a king or an archaeologist etc) and people want to write about that character. I have no interest in writing fiction about 'Minecraft Survival Guide Pix' because - to me - that is Jonny himself, just playing the game and teaching us all about it. That's different.
I don't even know where I'm going with this, tbh, or even if it makes sense. I just needed to get it off my chest. It's just how AO3 works, and if you want your writing to be noticed there you have to use those tags. I just... eh.

FAQs
Just kinda compiling all of these.
Do Patreon supporters get early access to your fanfics, fanfic snippets, fanfic BTS, etc? Nope, Patreon is for original works only. If you like my fanfic and want to support me but don't care about my original work, you can sign up for the $3 tier.
Hey, aren't you... Yes, I am @letmetellyouaboutmyfeels but I try to keep this tumblr strictly for posts about my original novels, including answering questions. I will also sometimes reblog fun stuff. For fandom, go to my other tumblr. It's where I'm more active anyway.
Why do you have two separate accounts? I like to be organized, and the idea of mixing 'fandom' with 'professional' too much makes me uncomfortable.
Is your real name Lincoln? It's real in all ways that matter.
What are your pronouns? She/her and they/them. My gender is none of my business.
What is your publishing schedule? I'm alternating posting standalones and series installments and hope to publish two books a year. So Pestilence is in September, then a standalone in December, and the next book will be War, then the book after that will be a standalone, etc.
Do you do sales? Yes, I do sales periodically, in conjunction with the release of a new book and at the end of the year.
Why do you only share pictures of your cats on Patreon? I'm a very private person and would like to limit glimpses into my personal life. I love sharing my babies but also want to manage my anxiety and trust issues in a way that is healthy for me.
Will you do audiobooks? I'd like to! It's a priority of mine for sure. I'm currently researching performers to find the best fit for each book, and I want to make sure I have the funds to properly compensate them. I'll announce it here once things are locked in.
How do you build an audience? I don't know. I wrote some fanfics in two popular fandoms right before they exploded in size, and kept writing for fun. I didn't plan anything. It was basically "right place right time."
How do you... This post gave me all the starting tools I needed to self publish. I cannot credit @thebibliosphere enough because following her tumblr and learning from her posts was beyond beneficial. I never would've had the courage to self-publish if I didn't see her do it first, and be open and generous with her knowledge.
How many books are you working on/do you have planned? The Horsemen Quartet, a trilogy, and five standalones.
What is A Masque of Shadows? That is my magical murder mystery novel, which takes place in a fantasy version of Venice, Italy, and is Game of Thrones meets Murder on the Orient Express starring the grumpiest detective, his spymaster bestie, and various murderous women who can step on me. It's being posted chapter by chapter on my Patreon for subscribers, and will be published in full in e-book and paperback when it's finished with revisions (i.e. my copy editors rip it to shreds).
What about the fanfic? I have not abandoned my fanfiction. That will continue to be free. In fact I hope between book sales and Patreon that I'll have more time for it.
Is there smut in your novels? There might be in the last Horsemen novel. There isn't any planned for the others.
Are you [insert sexuality/gender/mental illness etc here]? I am not obligated to share any of my personal info. I have sensitivity readers who have kindly agreed to be compensated for reading my novels for areas that either don't draw on personal experience, or do but still deal with a subject I'd like a second opinion on.
I only want to read your fanfiction. Good for you. It's on Ao3.
Why do you use Amazon, which is of the devil? Because there is no ethical consumption under capitalism and too many people use Amazon and Kindle for me to eliminate the payday it provides me. "You can have your principles when you've got a belly full."
I hate Amazon, how do I best support you? You are in good company, I also hate them. My Payhip is the best way. However if you do use Amazon please leave a review! Treat it like an Ao3 comment. I want to see keysmashes.
Can I do fanart/write fanfic of your novels? Have at it! I would be very flattered to see any fanart you do. For fanfic please do NOT under ANY circumstances tag me in it or send it to me or gift it to me on Ao3. It's for legal reasons.
Are you on [insert social media site here]? No. Tumblr is my only social media site. If that changes, I'll let you know.
Why jackals? I shamelessly stole the idea from Seth Myers. Back in the heyday of the pandemic when he was doing online-only videos, he joked about how no matter how pedantic the correction, his viewers would faithfully type "with [their] little jackal paws" into the comment section to set him straight. He made more jokes in videos after that affectionately referring to his viewers as jackals, and it made me laugh so hard I decided to use it for my own.

Getting to know your fellow fanfic writers better!
Thank you @salchat for tagging me!
When did you post your first ever fic? I don't remember the exact date, but it was in 2008
First character you wrote for? Angel from the series Angel, which is a spin-off of the series Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Main characters you are currently writing for? I'm currently writing about SPN characters, mainly Dean and Castiel, but also a lot about Sam.
Characters you haven't written about before but plan on writing about soon? I won't give any spoilers. :-D No, just kidding... I'm going to write about Missouri, John Winchester, Meg and many other SPN characters.
Fandoms your currently writing for? Supernatural
Platonic pairings you currently write for? My WIP is very large, so there are a lot of relationships of different kinds. The brotherly relationship between Dean and Sam, the complicated relationship between Sam and Castiel, the friendly relationship between Castiel and an important OC character, the family relationship between the Winchester brothers and their father. And many other platonic relationships.
Romantic pairings you currently write for? Dean/Castiel, but there are a lot of them mentioned in the current WIP.
Your top 3 tags on AO3 if you post there? Rape/non-con and First time. And the third depends on what fandom I'm looking for, because every fandom has a kink in it that I like and then I look for it
Current platform where you post your works? Wordpress (only in Czech), AO3 and Wattpad
Snippet of the WIP you are currently working on?
"Mne nravitsya smotret' na tebya. Vy ochen' krasivy."
Dean raised an eyebrow.
"You know I understand some of this now, right?"
"Yes."
"And you know it's stupid when you keep saying those things?"
"A matter of point of view." Alpha shrugged slightly with the arm of the hand he had hooked behind the back of the chair, then leaned forward and rested his forearm on the table. "Moy Din..." Cas repeated his name, warmth in his voice and warmth in his squinted eyes, and reached across the table.
He placed his hand in his, admittedly still with a little hesitation, but certainly not reluctantly. The moment he did, long, tattooed fingers wrapped firmly but gently around his hand, and Castiel drew their joined hands together. He lifted them off the table and leaned in just enough to plant a warm kiss on each of Dean's balls. One finger at a time, and with each touch of cracked lips, his Omega growled
"I've asked Ulyana Leonidovna to include pies on tonight's menu. Because of you. You like it, don't you?"
"Yeah. I'll never turn down pie. In fact, it's the only reason I'm here," he pointed out defiantly, arching an eyebrow.
"Oh, really the only reason?" Alpha cocked his head to the side, amusement flashing in his eyes.
"If you don't give me another, Alpha..."
I'll be honest, I'm not on Tumblr very often and I don't know anyone here, so I don't know who to tag. Sorry. :-(

Fanfic ask game!
Hey sosaaaaa so here’s something I have for youuuu! 💻 and ⏰
ask game found here ! HI LOVE ! i am extremely sorry that i am replying to this so late :(( hectic last few days but now i finally have time to answer all my beautiful asks <3 thank u for stopping by to participate in the tag game !!
💻 -> i think this question is really interesting and am excited to answer DFJDFJHJD. the short is YES. i do conduct research for all of my fics, even drabbles i do a little searching here and there for basic stuff, to fact check something, have a character's voice play on a loop so i can get a "feel " for them, or gain inspiration on how to go about executing the ideas i have. the deepest dive for a fic i have ever done....hmm there are a few of them in mind. the first one that comes to mind is one i have is this fic about uryū ishida called spellbound, and it's a bridgerton au + royal au. this is one of the fics that required the most research because it's in an au that doesn't even exist anymore/don't have enough knowledge about so i had to research victorian + regency era language, customs, vocabulary, the names for their clothing, architectural terms, and even looking up visuals for the setting because of the world building that i'm doing. butttt despite all this, the fic will turn out great (i think) so stay tuned!!!
another fic i had to do ample research for was for this multichap series for sasuke i had planned called koi no yokan, which isn't posted on here yet but i will post it later. it's main platform will be ao3 tho :) for this it was more so doing research on sasuke's relationship with other people, sakura in particular (for reasons i don't want to reveal yet bc i want it to be a surprise) and it takes place when they're adults (boruto era). i also had to look up stuff about jutsu techniques because i made some things up, and geographical stuff.
one last example: it's for another up and coming idea i have for leone abbacchio called legend of the enchanted forest (name subject to change) and it's a medieval au so for similar reasons like spellbound, i wanted to do research on knights and their rankings, the royal courts, mythical creatures, etc.
⏰ -> it fluctuates fr ! i would say i read and write fics in equal amounts (which isn't as much these days as it used to, but i'm getting back in my jam) but there are times i find myself reading more because....well i don't always have the energy or time to write like how i REALLY want to everyday soooo i just settle to read :)
#*☆゚. destinies cross ── asks.#ask games :)#Ꮺ moots.#shamelesshoefairy#i am deeply sorry#i talk so damn much it's DISGUSTING UGH i need to give myself a word limit#but uhhh yea :D

I am assuming the questions are in your post? Lol? Not sure...
My lovely mutuals, consider yourselves tagged if a fanfic-author game would apply to you!
How many works on ao3?
7! Honestly I never thought I would get past one
Top 5 by kudos:
the merciless old verities | This is the only work I've done for a prominent ship in my main fandom, so tbh I kind of expected it, but it's a lot of fun! It ballooned quickly away from what I thought it would be and I'm a little scared of it sometimes. You can only write so many death scenes before even that becomes route, y'know?
gonna die in a small town | oh my god I LOVE this one. holy shit. It is my only Stardew Valley fic - I might write more eventually - and it's just a vaguely slice of lifeish romp around how the Stardew villagers would experience my first save file. I love it so much. Eventually I ought to write a sequel.
what's your name? | One of the things that has always bugged me about the acotar world is how quickly Clare Beddor's death is brushed aside, as well as the strange relationship between Feyre and Nesta. So here, I stuck the two things together and killed Nesta instead of Clare. Mostly this focuses on the buildup to the event, but still. A lot on their childhood, too, and pre-canon lore that I wish we got more of in the series. Or maybe not. I don't think I'd trust Maas with that, tbh. It was really important to write, for me, and the response I've gotten has indicated that it impacted others as well. Which is frankly delightful.
if we dreamt of snow | My getting-back-to-writing-fic. My baby. My 117k demon. I love her to bits and pieces. I already cannot reread her without forcefully reminding myself that I swore I would not go back and edit anything, so I could see how (and if) my writing progressed. Honestly I still cannot believe I wrote it.
everything in life is about death | Nesta instead of Clare, the remix. It turns out I had more to say. Or I wanted a different way to say it. This one focuses more on the aftereffects of her death. Could it be better? Yes, but as it is I think it accomplishes what I wanted it to. Surely that means something!
Do I respond to comments?
Yes! It absolutely floors me that anyone reads what I write at all. Comments make my day every single time
Angstiest ending?
I cannot emphasize enough, I wrote two separate fics in which I killed Nesta and Feyre had a hell of a lot to process about it. It's a toss-up, I think. Probably what's your name?
Happiest ending?
if we dreamt of snow by a landslide.
Do I write crossovers?
No, but that's not to say I wouldn't. If I ever found the right thing, maybe. I could see myself sitting Stardew Pierre down with Raskolnikov from Crime and Punishment. I should write that.
Ever received hate?
No! Everyone's been very nice. And, to echo dear @vvalllerie - who is 100% lying btw, I've never touched Haikyuu in my life and I still read Valerie's fics from time to time - I don't think what I'm putting out is good enough to warrant that kind of attention.
Ever had a fic translated?
No.
Ever co-written?
Also no. I would in theory be open.
All-time favorite ship?
Honestly, I couldn't tell you if I tried.
wip that I will probably never finish: the merciless old verities. I'm still chipping away at it, but guys I'm not kidding when I say this thing has ballooned beyond my comprehension.
Writing strengths?
I feel like I'm pretty good at worldbuilding. It's all subjective, though. Sometimes I produce decent descriptive paragraphs and etc.
Writing weaknesses?
I cannot, and I do mean cannot, write about people having sex or romantic interactions. It is a struggle every single time. The other part, the intimacy of knowing someone, I think I can do. But the other day I sat down with the goal of writing a cute little f/f story and I instead wrote 6k of an entirely different story that did not, in fact, feature romance at all. I was simply trying to get out the bisexual urge to daydream about women and instead exorcized a demon or something.
Thoughts on writing dialogue in different languages?
I have done this, though rarely, and tried to be as respectful as possible. If I know the language myself I tend to be more confident.
Fandom/ship I haven't written for yet?
Within me there is something brewing for the Oresteia. I've been thinking about Clytemnestra for so long. Someday I'll write it.
Favorite fic I've ever written?
if we dreamt of snow, my forever baby. And kinda hectic inside, because every single time I sit down and try my hardest to channel the 300k enemies-to-lovers we all want to have within ourselves. And then I write something with Mariah Carey blaring. It's so fun, I really recommend listening to "Heartbreaker" while writing banter. Nothing like it!
okay whatever this thing is, thank you @kings-highway for the tag. i enjoyed delaying my getting out of bed at 3:30 in the afternoon in favor of this
how many works on ao3:
22! which considering i’ve been writing for less than a year, is pretty good in my opinion
top 5 by kudos:
1. the craving (shouyou’s version). i’m actually really proud of this one and it’s one of my favorites that i’ve written. based on the craving by twenty one pilots, of course
2. Illness, Injuries, and Iceland. guaranteed this is because i wrote it for king and they reblogged it. thanks pookie for making me write ushiten
3. Sweet. this one.. i wrote based on my own experiences with depression. it’s very difficult for me to express these types of feelings explicitly so i love to project onto my fav characters. daisuga especially
4. Love, In Itself. i’m actually really surprised at this one because it’s pretty short and it was actually a request from a friend!
5. Cry. my one and only oisuga fic, only got one chapter. apologies for making daichi the bad guy
do i respond to comments:
yes! i try very hard to respond to every comment i get. i love getting comments since i don’t get very many, and i know the amazing feeling of having an author acknowledge you and thank you for your comment, so i try to let people know that i appreciate each and every comment i get!
angstiest ending:
uhhhhh it’s not done yet, but run (until you feel your lungs bleeding) is gonna be SO angsty hehehe. iwaoi of course. i’m very excited for it. if you want one i’ve already finished, tho, it’ll have to be i know that losing dogs exist, because i bet on them and i am one. sakuatsu, mcd, entirely based on my own experience w a disastrous breakup i had. thank you to king again for being there when i needed it most.
happiest ending:
well most of them are. but in my opinion, it’ll have to be my iwasuga fic Quetzalcoatlus! one of my FAVORITE fics i’ve written. i just. *sniffle* i just love them so much
do i write crossovers:
no. honestly i don’t see the point. i like getting immersed in the fics and i can’t do that if they aren’t even the same fandom
ever received hate:
nope. only some very disappointed commenters begging for me to continue my fics. im sorry guys i promise im trying
do i write smut:
none that you’ll ever see. a very select few people have access to it.
ever had a fic stolen:
no idea. probably not. they aren’t good enough for that
ever had a fic translated:
nope. have had a few people comment in different languages tho that was pretty cool
ever co-written:
no way. i need control. what the hell. MY fics. did have an idea for a collab but dunno if the other person even wants to do it still. if you got this far down tho please let me know if u do 🙏
all-time favorite ship:
sorry to everyone who thought it was daisuga. it’s oidai. forever. my babies.
wip that i will probably never finish:
unfortunately, i have a trio of wips that all go together. all mcd fics, one happy, one sad, and one right in the middle. iwaoi is the sad one, daisuga is the happy one, and the one right in the middle is sakuatsu. all titled from/based on songs
writing strengths:
uhhhh. uhhh. the characters? making them relatable? no idea. not sure if i have any. i’m just vibing
writing weaknesses:
erm. probably the fact that i start long fics with only an idea and no plans, so then i never finish them because i was just writing as it came to me
thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages:
dunno. do what you want. i’ll only do it if i know that language
fandom/ship i haven’t written for yet:
oidai. i know, i know. i really want to but it has to be PERFECT so i just. haven’t done it yet
favorite fic i’ve written:
chaos theory, no doubt. haikyuu and dinosaurs? two of my favorite things ever? yeah, no hesitation, it’s chaos theory
tags:
i dunno who’s been tagged in this already so if you have just ignore this. buuuuut here pookies <3

Do you read fanfics here?😊 if yes, what kind of stories do you like reading? Do you have any favourite writers?
Hey anon! I do read fanfics here, although I prefer Ao3 because I find it easier over there. Fic rec blogs are the saviors of this website because man, the research tool is not easy to navigate. But here are a few of my favorite writers, and some of my favorite fics by them (though all of their works are very much worth reading!!):
@snackhobi is really the writer who made me want to start writing about BTS. I love the way she writes her characters, and most of all I love her writing style. She just always makes things so interesting to read, there's never a dull moment in her fics. No matter what she's writing about, it's always a great ride. Personal favorites: midnight confessions, Hoseok x Reader, the story that made me want to write for the first time (what's past it past), and a human touch, Taehyung x reader, which made me discover I did, in fact, like stories about androids (I really went into it thinking "hope this doesn't awaken anything in me and... well. it did.)
@kpopfanfictrash, who I'm sure needs no introduction. She writes the most amazing one-shot that are basically novels in length and in quality, she covers such a wide range of genres, and really, you can't go wrong when reading anything of hers. Some of my favorite pieces by her make me feel like I'm watching a great rom-com. I discovered her last year with A Holly, Jolly Crisis (Hoseok x reader) and I'm hyped to read the Christmas piece she has planned for this year (Jungkook x reader 👀)! Personal favorite: The Art of War More (Jungkook x reader) and A Holly, Jolly Crisis.
@btssmutgalore writes a lot of great stuff, mostly smut as you could expect from the name, and I love how introspective their writing tends to be, how in depth they get about their characters' feelings. Personal favorite: partners!!!! Namjoon x reader, and oh my God, I can't begin to explain how much I love this story, it has this really shy/socially awkward Namjoon but it doesn't make his relation with the reader unbalanced, they have this fascinating attraction between them, and also it features one of the best kiss scenes I've read!
@xjoonchildx has THE most intense writing, like seriously, it never fails to give me goosebumps. It absolutely makes me put down my phone/computer to go scream somewhere else because of how tense it is, and I mean this in the best way possible. Her Guarded universe is really just a series of masterpieces, it's one of the best mafia AUs I've read and I think it handles really well the complicated feelings you could have in those situations. All the stories have their own approach to it and show different sides of the coin and that makes it all the more fascinating to read. Personal favorite: the whole Guarded universe, really, and particularly greedy (Yoongi x Reader).
And finally, as I'm getting into stray kids, I just binge read pretty much all of @fizzydrink698's writing. I love reading about characters' emotions and feelings and I found her writing to be really sensitive to that stuff. Personal favorite: Date a Skater, Han Jisung x Reader (but also whatever I read last of hers became a personal favorite soooo)(akjfndkjbs her last one, Sparks, is so fucking good I just stopped writing thi post to go read it AND IT'S SO GOOD GAH). She also has stories with a cool take on a/b/o and I'm sucker for non-traditional a/b/o dynamics so that was really cool to read!
