My sixth book (!!😱!!) is coming out in March and I’m scared as hell. Do you ever stop being scared as hell when a new book you’ve written is coming out?? Like, is this a forever thing?? Do I just Muppet flail like Kermit for a month every time I publish a new thing??

Thank you for being awesome and doing these asks, by the way. You’re very kind in a world that is often not.

I haven't yet stopped being scared when I send something I'm working on out to a handful of people to be read. Normally by the time the book comes out it's closer to stage fright than real terror though. I've already scared myself sending it to editors and friends. It's a forever thing, yes. And just as you think you're used to it something you've written that's published arrives and you want to show everybody and you realise you aren't used to it at all. And yes: flail away.

I love the college of winterhold. everyone there is casually deranged and there's like an alarming number of students and staff who threaten you immediately when they meet you. it's always one of the first questlines I do. which makes it even funnier when you get made the arch-mage of the college. I'm level 12 and got through this questline knowing exactly 3 spells. what do you mean you want me to lead the college. this school CANNOT be an accredited institution

putting my prediction on record now that the coming decade is going to see the rise of viral-marketed fancy at-home water filtration systems, driving and driven by a drastic reduction in the quality of U.S. tap water (given that we are in a 'replacement era' where our current infrastructure is reaching the end of its lifespan--but isn't being replaced). also guessing that by the 2030s access to drinkable tap water will be a mainstream class issue, with low-income & unstably housed people increasingly forced to rely on expensive bottled water when they can't afford the up-front cost of at-home filtration--and with this being portrayed in media as a "moral failing" and short-sighted "choice," rather than a basic failure of our political & economic systems. really hope i'm just being alarmist, but plenty of this already happens in other countries, and the U.S. is in a state of decline, so. here's praying this post ages into irrelevance. timestamped April 2023

He doesn’t exactly mention it to his family when he comes back- he was more than a little busy trying to figure out what he missed, where his children were, what the fuck had even happened. Besides, he’d put it in the report that he’d encountered some sort of primordial time being- even if he was still investigating that on his down time. 

So he thinks he can be forgiven for forgetting to mention anything until Clark drops a cup while staring at him with a pale expression and shakily asks why there’s a second, slower heartbeat in his chest. He just also wishes it wasn’t in the middle of a League meeting.
