I finished Owl House a few days ago and there's one scene that just sticks with me.

Or rather, one frame actually.

Like, this one single frame of Eda's pure unhinged joy because Luz has come full circle of not only being a witch, but being another Eda.

The moment Luz makes the comment about "You know where Magic comes from"

And Eda is just-

The pure joy in the fact that she knows this is the witch she saw when she started training Luz, this is her prodigy, this is her kid.

It's my favorite frame in the entire episode and I've rewatched this fucking finale 4 times now.

this is probably old news to everyone but god i didn't realize how useful the drafts feature was?? like i don't write in ao3 so like i've just never used it. but oh my GOD posting multi-chapter fics? using it has been soo helpful. i thought you could only draft like entire fics not just individual chapters. but no!! so i have ch3 of my fic rn in drafts, all formatted and everything is just nice and ready to go? i can just hit post tomorrow and it's done. and it's in an already published fic so it wont be deleted apparently after a certain time. idk its just amazing. ilu drafts folder. ur amazing. you've been making posting my completed fics soo easy tysm

Of every great thing in the Prequill comic, this part stuck out to me nearly the most.

Abandonment issues. Plain and clear. Kid can't last seven minutes alone without people after finally getting adopted. After being alone and isolated for ten years. 🥲

"Crushing loneliness" is what he calls it (albeit while in denial).

The novelisation of the second movie plays around with this a little, too. Obviously, we saw him behave seemingly just fine for hours on end after Tom & Maddie left for Hawaii—heck, he threw a party. 🤣 But according to the book, he was nervous during the entire send-off scene, and had to inwardly reassure himself that they were going to come back, that he wouldn't be left alone again. Someone pointed out how even though this isn't outright said in the film, Sonic's expression and smile still look rather strained and forced as he's giving them the ring to use for the return trip. 🥺💔

Needless to say, I'm glad my lonely little boy finally has a family who loves him very much. 🥹💙💛❤️
