Unspoken Doubts

Other Hero had her doubts about Hero's background, though it was easy to guess she had some involvement in the recent outburst at the kingdom. Not only that, but Hero's sharp gaze and agile movements mirrored those of the 'rogue guard' from the rumours around the kingdom. This didn’t seem like a coincidence. As rumours spread like wildfire, it only got harder for Other Hero to dismiss the resemblance.

She decided to not from mention it, knowing that it could potentially provoke Hero and lead her to leave the team. Doubt gnawed at her, but she couldn't deny the sympathy she felt for Hero. She wanted her in the team, not only for extra help in missions, but also for a new friend. As of right now, Hero seemed to be completely alone. Other Hero knew the feeling far too well.

Other Hero decided to let Hero reveal her past herself. She could do it in her own time, sharing it on her own terms, and Other Hero would stand by her when they did.

Superhero walked silently beside Other Hero, a departure from her previously opinionated self. Her brows furrowed as she walked mindlessly, lost in thought, Other Hero observed in silence. The air was palpable as Other Hero desperately searched for words to ease the tension.

“You know, I think I new team member could be a good thing,” Other Hero started softy, searching Superhero’s face for a reaction. “It could help with missions, plus it’d be good having someone new to talk to…”

“We were fine before.” Superhero responded bluntly, still stuck in her trance. Other Hero's shoulders slumped, a sigh escaping their lips. They had hoped for a lively exchange to lighten the mood, but Superhero seemed disinterested. Superhero's gaze drifted aimlessly, never quite meeting Other Hero's, as they walked in silence.

Hero trailed behind the two, her steps light but her thoughts racing. Ignoring their conversation, she let her mind wander to the vivid images of the townsfolk she had encountered. Their expressions haunted her thoughts, etched with hurt, disappointment, and fear.

It was as if their perception had been twisted, mistaking her noble intentions for villainous acts. It should have been the Villain they feared, not her. Hero felt a heaviness in her heart as she grappled with the unfair judgment, overwhelmed by frustration and confusion.

“We’re here.” Superhero huffed, throwing the bag of supplies down onto the ground. She kept her head low as she walked off, leaving Other Hero and Hero behind. Other Hero sighed, their lips slightly pursed as if holding back words. As they combed a hand through their hair, they shifted their attention to Hero.

“Sorry,” Other Hero mumbled. “They aren’t usually like this.” they averted their gaze, embarrassed of how rudely Superhero was being. Other Hero's voice carried a hint of exhaustion, their words laced with an apology, their eyes betraying the weight of their fatigue.

“Yeah it’s fine,” Hero set the other bag of supplies beside Superhero’s. “Thank you for letting me stay with you guys.” Hero smiled at Other Hero, who mustered a weary smile in return, their shoulders slumping as they nodded.

“Ah, I suppose I should show you where you’ll be staying,” Other Hero walks off further into the camp, Hero follows closely behind. Maybe a fresh start here wouldn’t be so bad. This is just a draft. If you have any feedback lmk <3

I was just gonna do the adult timeline zelda but im so enchanted by the idea of these two versions of the same character. People always talk about how link would be changed but never zelda.
