So, just curious how many writers and creators will have to be forcibly outed by relentless harassment before we acknowledge that "This queer characters was written by a cishet person and that's why they're bad" is not good criticism.
Apparently much-needed reminder that reposting artists' art (by saving the images or screenshotting them and reuploading them yourself) on other platforms without the artists' expressed permission and without credit is theft and an insult to their passion and craft. You are profiting (in views, in attention, in feedback) from someone else's work and ideas, who do not get that feedback for sharing their creation.
If you are an art reposter, you are a thief and I have no respect for you.
You are probably not going to understand why I am writing to you until the end of this. It's kind of poetic but please stick around.. I am deathly allergic to hornet/wasp/bee stings. I live in Canada where atm in Ontario we are dealing with an invasive giant hornet species that eats bees. So. I had to save the bees. Edit: I've been educated by husband and some lovely tumblr folks about it being a European Hornet! Still very deadly if she had stung me.
I went to take a nap. And found one crawling around my room floor. You could say I did not take a nap. Instead I grabbed a glass cup and put it overtop of her. She's very pretty, but for me she's pretty deadly. The closest books to stop the paranoia of her flipping the glass over were your books. American Gods and Stardust were too thick. Posed threat of also tipping glass over. So.. The Ocean at the End of the Lane it was.
Thank you for the book. It's a lovely read. And you could say it's helping save my life while my husband is out of the house at work.
Sincerely,
Emelie.
"Words save our lives, sometimes." Literally.
Also shout out to @wardog-of-the-endless who sat in her office in Florida and listened to a panicked Canadian over Discord Voice Clips since I was shaking too much to type. I don't get scared often but when I do..
Jumpscare: Hornet.
Edit/Update: I didn't kill her, but she was not doing well prior to my trapping her. I was going to wait to get husband to decide what to do with her, he's a Biologist so I knew he'd know better. I was very scared due to the fact I was home alone and initially had no cellphone around me to call 9-1-1 if she was to sting me. But when he came home she had curled up and passed on.
We're a trap and release sort of fam. We DO live in the area where trees have been killed off by invasive moth species so I was worried she was invasive. Thank you to those peoples who educated me.
joking aside, I love this site. I have learned so much from this site. I have received so much love and support from this site, and I hope to be here for years to come (especially now that we accidentally won Least Worst Social Media Platform, despite our very best efforts)
that being said, taking a break was really helpful for me mentally. it made me realize how much pressure I was putting on myself to keep people entertained so they would like me. I'm talking like, 'rereading & editing a single dumb shitpost a dozen times a day' levels of overthinking.
So yeah: I love it here, I plan to keep making people (and myself) laugh, but going forward I'm going to be putting less pressure on myself to be as entertaining/active as i used to aim for. Less "I choked on my gogurt" levels of humor, more "sensible chuckle." (sometimes I may even indulge in a joke that purposefully fails to resonate with the audience! it will be quite a mischievous little treat for me 🤭.)
anyways please be patient if my posts lack a certain pizzazz going forward. the pizzazz is out of stock. no there is none in the back room. the pizzazz is on back order ok. no I'm not paying for expedited shipping. our supplier is experiencing a shortage. pizzazz is a controlled substance, do you have no understanding of the paperwork involved? piss off with your piddling pizzazz
TLDR if you think my posts were mediocre before just u wait sweetheart you ain't seen nothing yet. (they are going to get worse. what I'm saying is they are going to get even more underwhelming. i feel good about this.)
dragon age getting the top surgery scar option is at the same time bare minimum achievement, but also a huge thing.
as far as i know, there is like. not a single goddamn triple A roleplaying game where top surgery scars are an option. sims 4 has been so far the only triple A game i have ever seen where i can put top surgery scars on characters.
(edit: i am treating sims 4 separate in this discussion not because i do not think that its a real game or whatever, but because its a game about simulating life. while what they did was huge, transness is something that falls in the core themes and gameplay of the game. trans representation in a game entirely centered around simulating full range of human existence would not be as bold move as it is to include it in a game where player character's gender is irrelevant to the game in it's core)
its so absurd how so many "trans inclusive" games have failed at this, because their inclusivity is extremely surface level. none of them bothered to research this enough to even realize that its something that should be included. ability to even make trans masc characters in these games felt always more of a side effect of them giving ability to mix & match genitalia and body types rather than something they actively wanted to include in their game.
like its baffling that multiple games hailed as trans inclusive have not been able to deliver more than cis man with an average cis woman's pussy png stapled on groin. its always left up to modders to actually make the characters into trans men.
like... i have spent now years dreaming of a roleplaying game where i could at least get the smallest bare minimum crumble of actual representation. game after game has failed to fulfill this regardless of how absurdly simple addition it would be. like its so surreal that game after game has failed to include such a small thing while proudly bragging about how inclusive their character creation is.
and to finally get this dream fulfilled feels amazing. i feel like finally someone cares enough about existence of trans men to realize that this is something that needs to exist in the game.
Hey all, as you may know, the Lady Washington is near and dear to my heart. She turns 35 this year, which is pretty old for a modern wooden brig like herself. She's sailed well every year, but before she can continue doing so, she needs some major work done.
There is a refit project that will begin this October and which will extend many years in multiple phases. Critical things like above the waterline hull planking, both masts, and a number of engineering/electrical systems need replacing before she can sail again in 2025, and it's not yet fully funded.
I know there's so, so much going on in the world right now, and many people that need money more than we do. But on the off chance you have a few extra dollars, we'd really appreciate the donation. This ship is my home, and there are many folks that feel the same; we'd hate to have to delay the 2025 sailing season more than it already would be, or even cancel it. Even if you don't have the money yourself, please share this around with anyone you know who might be interested!
Thank you so much! Fair winds and following seas, friends!
I’ve recently been confronted with how differently everyone approach stories. This made me curious. So guys, I’m counting on you for data, we need to reblog.
(Calling upon the strenght of my (i hope) fandom friends so we get proper statistics)
I apologize in advance if I bothered anyone! (Warn me in dm and i won’t tag you for this kind of stuff again). Hopefully you’re curious as well and want the answer as much as I do. 🎶
