[Mod] Gortash Clothes for Guardian

Gives the Dream Guardian Gortash's clothes.

A few things:

Only works on new games! There's no other way to force an inventory change on the Guardian.

Does not include Gortash's Gauntlet. I was concerned that due to its tie to plot flags, it may cause errors, so I've left this out.

This edits the Equipment.txt file, and so will be incompatible with any mod that also changes that file.

This only will give the Guardian Gortash's clothes. To get him to look like Gortash, you will need a mod like Customizer's Compendium that will give you access to his face and hair model.

Also works on all other races!

INSTALLATION: Put the "Data" folder inside your main Baldur's Date 3 folder. "....Steam\steamapps\common\Baldurs Gate 3"

Hi I just saw that you're taking prompts, are they for fics or hcs? Because if so I'd love something on the concept of Durge and Gortash thinking no one knows about them, but everyone does :)

Hey!!! Yes truly the requests are for fics or HCS so if you ever wanna request again go for either! ♥️ Though honestly I find when I do fill requests or anything of the sort it becomes an odd mix between a mini fic and a rambling about HCS? Once I finish my main durgetash fic on A03 I'm def gonna do more structured fics about ideas like this 👀 but for now, here's what I got!

PS. This kinda became a POV of sort from Ketheric on their relationship 👀

PPS- I've realized I didn't have a tag for my own writings yet so I'll be making sure to post stuff I've written as #beep writes!

Oh how they think they're so brilliant. They both think themselves so devious- as they are in all their other dealings. Gortash built a weapon's trade empire up from nothing and Durge is the prodigal, chosen child of the god of murder. They have their strengths in the fields they are familiar in. This, however, is something they are not. Neither had truly felt something for another being *ever*.

To Ketheric their feelings to one another was obvious. He was a man who had been in love, after all. In their meetings together he could see the way that they glanced at one another. The way they would sit a little closer, the way they watched, fixated on the way the other spoke. Durge especially. While they were calm and composed, the way they watched Gortash when he spoke...well. it was clear they wanted to do more than just drive a dagger through his throat. Durge would also notable watch Gortash's hands quite a lot, like they were a pendulum and they were under a hypnotic spell.

Gortash was different with it. He would pay attention when Durge spoke, yes, but he was terrible at keeping his facade up. The way his expression would soften, a small smile on his face...he was smitten, too. Forget how absolutely pleased he looked whenever Durge drew their blade and cut into a target. The few times Ketheric asked Durge to deal with a captured harper or a follower who had failed, Gortash would watch with an obsessive fascination. Like he wanted to sing Durge's praises for their mastery with the blade.

It was sick, the way these other chosen looked so hungry for one another. But in a way, Ketheric understood. After all, would one who had never experienced love before not want to consume it with their entire being? He knew little of their pasts, but for chosen like them, love would not be so commonplace. They were like starving mutts, desperate to make their meal last but far too hungry for more more more.

He was glad he put their rooms far from his own.

It's Durgetash, it's Kass and Enver, I can't pretend that it's not. It's both of them mourning the lost months, it's both of them convinced they're the ruin of the other. It opens with a verse about corrupting an angel and dragging them down to earth, and yes it's Enver thinking about seducing a demi-god, but it's also Kass ruining herself by becoming Torm's valkyrie so she can fight Bane

God, I was going to say this is THE Durgetash song for me (and god the music video does a lot of the heavy lifting in that regard too) but there's still 8 songs to go so I can't promise that. Needless to say I have been known to put on a 1 hour loop of this song when I'm writing Kass and Enver

I actually got into Teddy Swims from some of his covers, I LOVE his cover of Make You Feel My Love and was hoping that would turn up but I do love this one. I have this one on Rhyme and Gale's playlist, Carmela and Astarion's playlist, and Kass and Enver. It is really good

Tommee Profitt is genuinely one of my favourite artists, and his collabs with Fleurie are always golden. This cover of Avicii's Wake Me Up is just haunting, and it turns such a bop into a song that will linger in my soul forever. It's one of my solo songs for Kass and also for Rhyme, because if I'm not torturing one of them I'm torturing the other

This is the song I had playing when I wrote Enver's death. I had Kass say "come home with me" because I was crying that much over this song

I love The Hu, and I've seen people drag this version because they think Jacoby Shaddix looks out of place but it's??? Fucking great? I mean my favourite song by The Hu is Song of Women ft. Lzzy Hale but this is great. I played it a lot when I wrote the Battle for Baldur's Gate scenes

Cause, same fam. That's why I wrote Temptations of Circuits and Sin! A pretadpole Durge x Gortash dark fic. (Ao3 HERE!)

It's got heavy Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde & Frankenstein vibes mixed with Repo: The Genetic Opera, and a sprinkling of Hannibal, and dash of Dexter.

Summary: Durge experiences a troubling fascination with anatomy in a way that Bhaal disapproves of. This doesn't stop them from pursuing understanding in- what they believe- is secret. After attempting to manipulate the means of death in vile ways, they experience a break of sanity that a certain Tyrant witnesses. Their expertise in the natural sciences compels Gortash to ask Durge for aid in his own creations. Thus begins their tumultuous and whirlwind relationship.

Mind the tags, it's very Dead Dove at times. But it's an exploration of religious devotion at odds with personal desires (desires in this case being both Gorty boi AND science!). It also touches on gender dysphoria and actualizing identity. Plus I explore writing different kinks with each chapter SO YA KNOW IT HAS THAT TOO.

It's still WIP but it has up to 3 chapters and 17k+ words for your enjoyment so far.

I've written smut before, but I wouldn't consider it my main genre at all. I love reading smut though, and I have great respect for those who write it well! It's hard! It's a skill! Tell me your secret!

Craziest crossover:

I have never written a crazy crossover (I dream of the day I will be able to write a fic like how many old gods does it take to end a war (marvel x tgcf) by unfortunategay. I'm still obsessed).

Have you ever had a fic stolen?

No, I don't think so.

Have you ever had a fic translated?

Yes, twice, it's the greatest honor!:) I have one fic translated into Italian and one into Russian.

Have you ever cowritten a fic before?

No. It sounds a little scary, but I'm sure it's probably lots of fun! One day, I'd love to try!

All time favourite ship?

Hualian, all the way. They're everything I like in a ship; opposites who are more similar than how they first appear, outcasts who find a meaning and a home in the other, people who suffered too much but still get to have a happy ending. They're tragic but happy, they're obsessive but healthy, and the best thing is that they can't even be separated by death.

What's a wip you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

There's a wolfstar canon-divergence fic I really want to write where an accident happens during The Prank and it changes everything, even the war. Writing long stories scares me though, but I still hope I'll push through one day. Oh, and there's also a very smutty omegaverse-like durgetash fic I want to write with the original Dark Urge, but well, smut isn't my strength hehe.

What are your writing strengths?

Semi-good ideas, maybe? Also, somehow I feel like I write animals well. It's probably because of Gerald Durrell books.

What are your writing weaknesses?

Actually writing. I'm so bad at finishing stuff. I struggle to get the descriptions to flow well, I overanalyze everything, and as someone whose first language isn't english, I'm always very scared that my sentences end up very awkward and strange without me having the faintest idea, but I suppose these are all things that should get better with practice. Still, it's a struggle.

Thoughts on dialogue in another language?

I haven't been in a spot yet where I had to write dialogue in another language like that. I love when other authors do it, especially when it's latin or french or a language I have no idea about (google translate go brr).

First fandom you wrote in?

Miraculous Ladybug, and I wrote smut(!) in my mother language when I was like 13-14? Thankfully it is lost to time (or is probably in my old friend's dms, but I won't go digging). Those superheroes had a chokehold on me and so many of my classmates.

Favourite fic you've written?

Right now it's probably Next time, bring a napkin; I think it turned out funny.

I’m about to be exposed for my terrible taste in music so here goes. To make this more fun for y’all - under each song I will give my Durgetash-flavored assessment, even for songs which absolutely do not fit at all.

9/10 starting strong. I actually think this fits Durgetash quite well especially with Gortash's built-myself-from-nothing narrative.

7/10 durgetash rating - this is kind of like the song that they both wish they could feel about each other. Like "yea I wanna be the dude who can kiss you all sweet but if we don't rip each other apart in bed Im gonna get lobotomized so"

Oh man I hate that this is here and I'm really not big on Shawn Mendes because he's a little too bubblegum for me but this song is catchy. 8/10 Durgetash rating due to the lyrics - a dark cover of this song would fit durgetash perfectly. Its essentially "I can't believe my murder girlfriend keeps dragging me into the sewers but damn she's hot"

11/10 Durgetash rating. 10/10 for the lyrics and +1 because Enver Gortash loves Panic! At The Disco.

So yea I'm a musical fan and yes this is a durgetash song for me. Let me sell you on the vision first. Durge gets lobotomized and Orin tells Enver and he immediately wants to blow the whole plan to shit because the love of his life is gone but then the whole ass Church of Bane is like nah just like drink her away my guy and so the Banites Party Hard (tm) and Enver is like fine I'll stick with the plan but he's dead inside. 10/10

10000/10 Durgetash rating. My sister Orin says 'Oh she's just being bhaalspawn.' (is this the most embarrassing song that could ever come up? you betcha.)

This is definitely The Vibe for them. 10/10 just Durgetash being nasty. Check yourself for whiplash from the last one.

I wanted to say like 5/10 but "I don't want to keep secrets just to keep you" got me like hmmmm. Also "he looks up grinning like a devil." hmmmmmm. So I'll give it a 9/10 under one condition: default Dragonborn Durge would have to be in the music video for this in a white frilly dress.

This could probably really fit some people's Durges but it doesn't fit my idea of Durge so I'm only gonna give it a 2/10 durgetash rating. However? Orin could rock the shit out of this vibe. 10/10 Orin song.

15/10 Durgetash song. Hot as fuck, could fit both pre and post tadpole. Even mentions a priest. Strong ending.

The First Leaf on the Tree after Winter. It's an emotional journey but a happy end!

ACCESSIBILITY. What I would give to write in a more accessible way generally. I sometime tell too much and show too little. I am impatient with connecting scenes, so things can feel a bit heavy. Fluff. I always make things too sad.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

I would only use a fictional language I think.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

First ever was Final Fantasy 7. It was Tifa/Aerith but I didn't even realise that at the time lmao. Why WAS Tifa so sad about this woman? Girl it was GAY.

20. Favorite fic you’ve ever written?

Ohhh I think probably The Ever After, which is Thom Rainier making more mistakes on his path to redemption, post DAI, pre trespasser. I think it's really strong but it never really found an audience.

Listen, I can't just put my list on here. You have to know WHY this thing was probably on repeat over and over again.

LISTEN-- I DIDN'T KNOW IT WAS GONNA JUST CALL ME OUT IMMEDIATELY.

Not only is this on loop because it's great, but ALSO because I want to draw a half/half drawing of Emily and Charlie as they unite and sing their part. I will likely play this on loop again while I do that very thing.

I just loved the vibe of this song. It kept me going on slow days at work. But also the more I listened to it, the more I want to apply it to an OC. Not sure if an existing one or if one will be made for this. But it's there. It's growing. It will be done.

I never listened to this whole album. This popped up randomly one day and I just.....couldn't stop listening to it. Then I stopped listening to it for a while. Then it popped up again and suddenly BOOM, it's on the Rose playlist. It's Durgetash angst. It's *chef's kiss* I love it.

The show came out like, two weeks ago. I was just binging the album over and over again-- this one being on the list shouldn't count but I'm playing by the rules here.

Heard the snippet on tiktok a while ago. Was hyped when the full song released. I love trying to add harmonizing vocals to it. It makes me feel like I'm floating.

This was great, okay? I definitely looped this one on purpose. That line about Hell rising to war, losing the ones she was killing for? FUCK YES.

Yes. Not to let the Durgetash brainrot take over again, but it reminds me of how Gortash constantly praises Durge for their intelligence and cunning; I get the impression that pre-amnesia Durge generally was considered to be a mindless beast despite being remarkably intelligent and with a gift for planning. I love the idea of them bonding with gnolls because they're familiar with what's it's like to be treated like an animal regardless of your intelligence because of something you can't control. ...Also, now I'm imagining Durge getting very defensive of the gnolls whenever anyone treats them like mindless beasts for reasons that are definitely not them projecting.

Y'know? I think I might see why Durge likes gnolls so much. I mean, the Urge might not be a need for food in the traditional sense but it can still be described as an insatiable hunger! And that bit about them having a tangible connection to their creator god is something Durge would be very familiar with. And reasoning with or begging the Urge is probably going to be about as effective as trying it with hunger incarnate.

Also, if you want to get slightly angsty about it maybe part of the reason Durge likes gnolls so much is that everyone thinks they're nothing but a mindless vehicle for slaughter too.

I had a bleak period from about 2019-2022 where I was in a black hole of depression and creativity where I wrote nothing and felt a deep shame every time I got a comment on AO3, so there are people I have never responded to, but otherwise I'm adamant about replying to EVERYONE

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? Hmm. It could be Grief, a fic about Arcann observing the bounty hunter performing funeral rites for her dead husband. It might also be A Piercing Little Star, which I wrote for the DA Big Bang in 2013 about Leliana and Warden Bethany. And Ten Years Gone, about a very minor NPC couple from DA2, has a bleak ending

7. What is the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? I'll be honest, it's Keep Telling Me To Breathe, my Durgetash fic. Purely self indulgent ending there.

8. Do you get hate on fics? Not in a long time, but it used to happen more frequently on Deviant Art and on anonymous kink memes. People were more free about being assholes on LJ because they could do it anonymously. A few on AO3 but again, it's been awhile.

9. Do you write smut? Do I write anything BUT smut lmfao. I mean, yes I do, but I love writing smut, so...

10. Craziest crossover? I'm not much of a crossover gal, the closest I've got at the moment would be some multi-Hawke adventures that I wrote back in my DA2 days where one of my Hawkes was running around in universe with a friend's Hawke

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? Touch wood but no, not to the best of my knowledge

12. Have you ever had a fic translated? Yes! I've had multiple of my Dragon Age fics translated into Russian

13. Have you ever cowritten a fic before? My co-conspirator @sithrightsactivist will confirm yes, and I'm basically a co-writer with @angelicfangirl on her Calli/Arcann (Swtor) fic

14. All time favourite ship? I don't know if I have one? Hnngh. I guess Ona'la/Thexan because he's essentially my OC at this point in time. I can't read other Thexan fics because I'm like, no, that's wrong, he's supposed to be married to Ona'la. And Elissa/Justice makes me feel a lot of very big emotions because I made her to be a garbage person, an outlet for a lot of my own ugly feelings and self worth issues, and yet someone actually fell in love with her and found her worth cherishing as she was and that stunned me. And Durge/Gortash, I know what I like

15. What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? Sigh. It's probably my Stardew Valley fic. Or, no matter how many times I try, my Raina Temple/Shara Jenn||Watcher Two fic (SWTOR).

16. What are your writing strengths? I write GREAT smut. And I do phenomenal worldbuilding

17. What are your writing weaknesses? I don't know when to shut up. I can't write short fic to save my life. I don't actually know how people write such tight, careful fics in such a small amount of words

18. Thoughts on dialogue in another language? I did it more when I was younger and thought I was being very clever but I know enough now that I know better than to try and butcher other languages like that. I know it reads as clumsy at best to native speakers so I try to avoid it. Unless it's fictional, and then I go ham.

19. First fandom you wrote in? First? Very first? I probably wrote stories about being April O'Neill with the TMNT. I wrote about being batgirl when I was like 8. Otherwise I think it was the Wayfarer Redemption Cycle by Sara Douglass or The Belgariad by David Eddings as a teen

20. Favourite fic you've written? HOW CAN I JUST CHOOSE ONE???? Okay well I'm the most proud of Keep Telling Me To Breathe (BG3) and An Empire's Ransom (SWTOR) changed the trajectory of my life for the better. Also? I'm the only person who's written Justice romance fic, and yes, I do mean Awakenings Justice and not "inside Anders' pretty body" DA2 Justice, so I'll own that
