19/31 #amigurumay | Organized
To keep organized I like to put all my WIPs in my project bag. I found this bag for sale on Etsy, and I knew right away, I had to get it. You know me, I love birds! Just look at those pelicans! By far one of my best crochet related purchases to date. I'd love to give the seller a shout out, but since purchasing this bag they´ve closed shop.

Well I already "updated" my desk space XD My dad brought over the plastic storage container that all my smaller (mostly cotton and faux fur skeins) are now in! Along with a little area to display some stuff (just old plushies for now....LOL). I also found a plastic zip bag (from one of our bed sheets) and moved what I could of my plush yarn in there to keep it from getting covered in cat hair or if the elements decide to start ruining my yarn like I've heard some people talk about.
Also got my third cubby storage hung up, and even though it's only half full in the pic it's already filled up now XD

Yes, I got myself one of those metal rolling carts. It is perfect to store all the stuff for my ongoing yarn projects.

Handmade Yarn Box and Crochet Hooks
Hi! Hope everyone is having a productive spring! The weather is getting so beautiful here. I’ve been taking advantage of the nice weather and working outside! This is what I’ve been working on. It’s a wooden yarn box. The designs are hand drawn and hand painted, with a Pagan/Wiccan theme. It’s finished off with 2 coats of polyurithane. I am in love with the way the top turned out. I did all the…

If I got rid of like. 6 years worth of yarn stash for dirt cheap, would anyone here be interested in it? I’ll do it via eBay but I really just want it out of my apartment and don’t think anyone is going to trust a listing that’s $5 for as much yarn as I can shove in a box.
#please lmk#I have four storage totes worth and 90% of it is brand new#it’s been stored in airtight bags and I don’t smoke#I’d just post the links here when it’s listed#mine#destash#yarn destash#knitting#crochet#crocheting#knitblr#crochet blue#yarn stash#yarnaddict#yarnblr#crochet yarn

I love when I see posts like "Share how many crochet WIPs you currently have! I have 5, it's so many!"
Like, girl, I have unfinished projects from over a decade ago that I refuse to frog on the off chance I decide to finish them. I've found years-old projects I forgot I even started and will impulsively just finish it on the spot. I've started three different projects in the last 2 months, including one I started yesterday, that I already know I may or may not finish within the year depending on motivation.
The number of WIPs I have is infinite.
#crochet#knitting#needlepoint#sewing#embroidery#shoutout to the time it took me 4 years to make my dad a hat. and like 6 years to make a turtle for a teacher.#i picked up yarn spinning for ONE day in like 2017. i have not done it since.#there's a half finished elephant amigurumi sitting in a basket and i started that guy in like 2011#i have two maybe three shawls i know of that are sitting unfinished in a storage bag#plenty of swatches of things that i start and lose interest in#currently i have a cardigan i wanted to make and started it and then got bored so i stopped#there's a hat i was knitting for my nanna that i started maybe 2 days before she passed#and that's sat unfinished i can't even look at it. i have no clue if i'll ever actually finish it.#there's at least one skirt i never finished sewing. and two skirts i have all the materials for but haven't started.#i know i have one beach cover up dress and one cover up skirt that i started in 2017 and didn't finish.#i think my oldest work in progress though dates back to when i was 9 or 10. i made a slipper. never finished the other foot.#that was in 2005 or 06. so literally i might have WIPs older than someone who is reading this.#and those are the just some of the ones i REMEMBER. buried in my yarn stash are probably others i've just forgotten.

actually though, related: real fiber arts bitches know that lion brand just did a 6 skeins for $12 sale. and you know my ass stocked up
#it's sort of like the ep of spongebob where they find the baby clam. and they're blowing through so many diapers#and they peel back the wallpaper and there's diapers behind it. it's like that. but it's skeins of yarn#storage is going to become a problem but $2 skeins of yarn is Crazy and you are not gonna find it cheaper than that Anywhere#sergle.txt#and then they ran it a Second time but for ONLY one type of yarn. and I took advantage of it a Second Time.

I don't have crafting updates but I do have my new desk/workbench more than half assembled and also I got sidetracked and ordered some stickers to put on it That did not help in the assembling of the desk but is vital to my process lol
#the person behind the yarn#I need more crime crow stickers for my desk I've got a whole desk leg that will be very visible#with no stickers!#I mean I do have stickers for it#I even have a place for stickers not yet stuck to live#so that I can know where they are instead of finding them at random#in places where past me was like 'sure this is where stickers go'#I mean not all of the stickers are actually there yet#for example there is a cicada with an amp sticker sitting on a book behind my computer right now#and another sticker of a ghost under my bottle of iron pills#and an envelope with more stickers sitting on my computer's keyboard#I'm part of a sticker of the month club it's fine it's fine#maybe I'll go actually put my stickers in my sticker storage box#(it's the top section of the mini toolbox I got for christmas)#work's been stressful can you tell lol#other people's art#........#the ellipses tag brought to you by my water bottle falling on my keyboard#it had something to say apparently oh it's snowing!!! that's unrelated but true

So I ended up getting a desk for my reading/craft room XD It's honestly just perfect for the space and a place to put all our craft supplies!
Plus it's a shelf that the cats just absolutely love! And they can finally look out that window again.

Tragic news: for the first time ever, wool moths have somehow infiltrated my yarn stash. Thankfully I caught it before losing too many skeins to damage, but they got the spindle stick holding one of my first in-hand spinning projects. 😢
#Lowkey grieving right now#my only solace is my two hand knit wool sweaters are safe#Just vinegar cleaned the inside of my storage drawer and put the save-able yarn in the chest freezer to kill any eggs#Fiber arts tragedy#Fiber arts#knitting#No idea how they got in#I have found no moth corpses or other signs of them#But they're the only thing i know of that would cause this kind of damage to wool#Time to make some lavender drawer sachets I guess

It's that time of year again where I don't feel bad about buying discount yarn by justifying it as an birthday present to myself.
At least this time I had a strong idea of how I was going to use everything I bought. Keyword "had", now that I can see the yarn in person I'm not feeling as confident.
The orange hanks (Koigu Premium Merino in colourway 1113) look really good on camera but is much more peachy in person. Which isn't to my taste and not what I expected. I'm no longer sure what I want to make with it, probably something either purely practical (like a knee/elbow warmer) or a gift for someone, maybe a colourwork cowl? Or a hat for my dad to keep in his car during the winter time
The blue skeins (Paintbox Socks in Kingfisher Blue 1434) are a little bit more on me, I expected a lighter, brighter blue and didn't do enough research to double check. It's still very pretty so I'm not too disappointed, but I had planned to knit a shawl with the paintbox, the more teal blue hank (Cloudborn Fibers Superwash Sock Twist in Lagoon), and the light grey hank (Cascade Heritage Sock in Grey 5660). I still think there's a project in there somewhere, but I'm not happy with both blues together.
I've been trying not to just buy yarn because it's pretty and only buy when I have an actual project in mind, I have a big enough stash that I don't need to add more to it (arguably i need to give some away/donate it/sell it, a lot of it does not spark joy anymore now that i know what i like to create). Hopefully it doesn't take long for me to figure out what I would like to do with them.
#knitblr#knitting#yarn#craftblr#yarnblr#collecting yarn is the real hobby#technically i don't even have my full stash here and what i have is already more than two trash bags full (temporary home)#I still have a lot of yarn in storage from when i moved but honestly like. I'm so much happier with this smaller amount.#There was so much yarn i bought when I was less experienced or had different priorities#there was a lot of “oh i love rainbow variegated barf yarn!” and then I would knit 3 rows and go “oh i hATE it”#Solids are way more boring to like look at and buy but then i love knitting with them way more

I've been SO PRODUCTIVE this weekend please clap
#we got glass recycles and cardboard recycles and the grocery bag buildup taken to their facilities#cleared the trash and recycles out of the basement#swept up the kitty litter and swiffered. got the litterbox back on the litter mat which gets it out of my room#we got some of the furniture downstairs moved back. except the stuff we can't.#got the bookcase moved out of my room into the rec room and the books out of the future pantry and onto the shelf#got this big storage thing of old craft stuff emptied and stashed most of my yarn in there#and cleaned out a lot of debris behind the guest bed that's been making my living space a nightmare for a while#my family's lived in this house since like the 70s so there's generations of buildup from people moving in with their stuff#and not taking it all with#and it makes it hard to keep uncluttered but we're working on it!
