19/31 #amigurumay | Organized
To keep organized I like to put all my WIPs in my project bag. I found this bag for sale on Etsy, and I knew right away, I had to get it. You know me, I love birds! Just look at those pelicans! By far one of my best crochet related purchases to date. I'd love to give the seller a shout out, but since purchasing this bag they´ve closed shop.

Well I already "updated" my desk space XD My dad brought over the plastic storage container that all my smaller (mostly cotton and faux fur skeins) are now in! Along with a little area to display some stuff (just old plushies for now....LOL). I also found a plastic zip bag (from one of our bed sheets) and moved what I could of my plush yarn in there to keep it from getting covered in cat hair or if the elements decide to start ruining my yarn like I've heard some people talk about.
Also got my third cubby storage hung up, and even though it's only half full in the pic it's already filled up now XD

Yes, I got myself one of those metal rolling carts. It is perfect to store all the stuff for my ongoing yarn projects.

Handmade Yarn Box and Crochet Hooks
Hi! Hope everyone is having a productive spring! The weather is getting so beautiful here. I’ve been taking advantage of the nice weather and working outside! This is what I’ve been working on. It’s a wooden yarn box. The designs are hand drawn and hand painted, with a Pagan/Wiccan theme. It’s finished off with 2 coats of polyurithane. I am in love with the way the top turned out. I did all the…

If I got rid of like. 6 years worth of yarn stash for dirt cheap, would anyone here be interested in it? I’ll do it via eBay but I really just want it out of my apartment and don’t think anyone is going to trust a listing that’s $5 for as much yarn as I can shove in a box.
#please lmk#I have four storage totes worth and 90% of it is brand new#it’s been stored in airtight bags and I don’t smoke#I’d just post the links here when it’s listed#mine#destash#yarn destash#knitting#crochet#crocheting#knitblr#crochet blue#yarn stash#yarnaddict#yarnblr#crochet yarn

I love when I see posts like "Share how many crochet WIPs you currently have! I have 5, it's so many!"
Like, girl, I have unfinished projects from over a decade ago that I refuse to frog on the off chance I decide to finish them. I've found years-old projects I forgot I even started and will impulsively just finish it on the spot. I've started three different projects in the last 2 months, including one I started yesterday, that I already know I may or may not finish within the year depending on motivation.
The number of WIPs I have is infinite.
#crochet#knitting#needlepoint#sewing#embroidery#shoutout to the time it took me 4 years to make my dad a hat. and like 6 years to make a turtle for a teacher.#i picked up yarn spinning for ONE day in like 2017. i have not done it since.#there's a half finished elephant amigurumi sitting in a basket and i started that guy in like 2011#i have two maybe three shawls i know of that are sitting unfinished in a storage bag#plenty of swatches of things that i start and lose interest in#currently i have a cardigan i wanted to make and started it and then got bored so i stopped#there's a hat i was knitting for my nanna that i started maybe 2 days before she passed#and that's sat unfinished i can't even look at it. i have no clue if i'll ever actually finish it.#there's at least one skirt i never finished sewing. and two skirts i have all the materials for but haven't started.#i know i have one beach cover up dress and one cover up skirt that i started in 2017 and didn't finish.#i think my oldest work in progress though dates back to when i was 9 or 10. i made a slipper. never finished the other foot.#that was in 2005 or 06. so literally i might have WIPs older than someone who is reading this.#and those are the just some of the ones i REMEMBER. buried in my yarn stash are probably others i've just forgotten.

So I ended up getting a desk for my reading/craft room XD It's honestly just perfect for the space and a place to put all our craft supplies!
Plus it's a shelf that the cats just absolutely love! And they can finally look out that window again.

actually though, related: real fiber arts bitches know that lion brand just did a 6 skeins for $12 sale. and you know my ass stocked up
#it's sort of like the ep of spongebob where they find the baby clam. and they're blowing through so many diapers#and they peel back the wallpaper and there's diapers behind it. it's like that. but it's skeins of yarn#storage is going to become a problem but $2 skeins of yarn is Crazy and you are not gonna find it cheaper than that Anywhere#sergle.txt#and then they ran it a Second time but for ONLY one type of yarn. and I took advantage of it a Second Time.

Tragic news: for the first time ever, wool moths have somehow infiltrated my yarn stash. Thankfully I caught it before losing too many skeins to damage, but they got the spindle stick holding one of my first in-hand spinning projects. 😢
#Lowkey grieving right now#my only solace is my two hand knit wool sweaters are safe#Just vinegar cleaned the inside of my storage drawer and put the save-able yarn in the chest freezer to kill any eggs#Fiber arts tragedy#Fiber arts#knitting#No idea how they got in#I have found no moth corpses or other signs of them#But they're the only thing i know of that would cause this kind of damage to wool#Time to make some lavender drawer sachets I guess

I cleaned the hobby room and I'm very happy, but I cannot share a pic bc it's still so messy by my inner Pinterest standards.
#Also this is the diaper drying room#Koni is an idiot#Problem is that visual clutter annoys me AND I'm an out of sight out of mind person so worst combo#We had a spare kallax after the office got redecorated and brought it up#But the weaving things stuck out which annoyed me even if it was great for yarn#The old pax that used to do all the storage was still looming#We had planned to move that one into the attic but it just won't fit#So I started to move my stuff from the kallax back to the pax with the idea to yeet the kallax and maybe replace it with a smaller one#Bc the wife did like it for their stuff#But it turned out I really dislike getting yarn from the pax bc it involves opening a door#While I do like it hiding away the weaving things I don't use most of the time#So I moved the pax to another wall (it turned out to be screwed to the book case which I didn't know so that was fun)#And now all the clutter stuff can live in there!

Hey y'all! Weird question time again! Do any of you have advice for where to buy good paper copies of road maps, specifically of the eastern united states? I'm thinking like the east half of Tennessee and parts of the surrounding states. Some context: I saw that post about using our phones for everything being a single point of failure (true) and my dad is very hard to find presents for but appreciates being prepared for emergencies (he spent most of his 20s as a firefighter in wildfire territory) so I think he'd appreciate having paper copies of maps he could like keep in the car in case his phone ever doesn't work. The problem: I do not drive, and I have absolutely zero idea what features make paper maps easier or more difficult to use, so idk how to narrow it down to which one(s) I should get him
#the person behind the yarn#fire mention#zero details just in the context of 'my dad was a firefighter when he was younger'#I do not drive because I have what you might call 'Might Pass Out Disease' and passing out while driving#is generally a Bad Idea for both the people in the car you are driving and anyone else on the road#so I do not do it#my dad is so hard to find presents for that he'll actually use#we usually default to board games as a 'something we can do as a family'#but after a certain point like...there is only so much board game storage#but I think he might really like paper maps!#for context of how 'prepared for emergencies' my dad likes to be#we have the normal house first aid kit#and then his first aid go bag which is a duffel bag entirely full of meticulously organized first aid supplies
