A Mini Cthulhu!
I haven't been feeling well lately, and I keep trying to make stuff for my husband and then...finding out the project isn't as easy I thought or just can't get myself to start or finish other projects. So this was almost a perfect pick this time! I almost gave up on the wings...because I wasn't sure if I was doing them right (I'm still not sure I got them right...but they're there. LOL). So something actually completed in a few hours!

The two mandatory speeds at which a crochet tutorial video must go: patronisingly slow or speedrunner on crack with a gun to their head. There is no in between.
#XD#yeah....#this is probably why I stay away from video tutorials if I can#but also the third thing#where they're going slow but you can't see WHAT or HOW they're doing the stitches....#crochet humor#crochet

I just want to take the time to look back on how this started (back in Feb of this year...2024) all because of therapy. My assignment was to go out and try something new and just be around people. My local library was offering a crochet class so I went! And after two weeks of undoing and redoing and lots of cussing and almost giving up I finished my first washcloth (the blue one) and immediately hopped onto amigurumi XD
@joufancyhuh wanted a washcloth, so today (after a month of just being in a slump) I finally sat down and just did the top one in less than a few hours. Still amazed by just how little time has passed and how far I've come, when I didn't think I would even finish my first project and was having doubts of even continuing after the classes were over.

Heyy! It's been a while! How my little dragons are doing? I am doing great, even through many ups and downs, I am slowly getting where I want! hehe🤭 So, let's get back to our amigurumi, shall we?🥰
Starting with this lovely tiara inspired by the already Pixar classic "Ratatouille"! The official version has been trending on the web lately, and I loved how this turned out!🤩 This was commissioned by one of my childhood friends, who wanted to gift her cosplayer friend! She wears all sorts of cute clothes and acessories, so this suited her perfectly! 💕💕
I'M OBSESSED!!! 😍😍😍

A Shadow Capybara!
So I'm supposed to be making my husband a capybara with way thicker yarn...and it's slow going 'cause I'm not used to it so I took the time to make this one in a few hours XD Kinda looks more like a hamster or rat but he and our son think it's cool looking.

fiber artists be like “this project has shaven years off my life. for endless hours I have toiled with no end in sight, a man dying in the desert of my own foolishness. my loved ones will find my withered remains hunched over in my armchair, skeletal hands grasping the finished piece that drove me to my early grave. ooooh that pattern looks awesome I must start it right away”
#XD#it true#I need to sit down and finish some stuff...#but I also just really love starting shit#crochet#crochet humor

A Puma!
This was for a test pattern for a discord group I'm in. So not sure if the wonky back legs is my own fault or if the pattern needs adjusting to fix them...But I really love that tail!

Jake the Dog!
Made this for my husband's bday/father's day. I have a few others I need to finish for him too...but this one is the easiest XD
He turned out a little rounder than oblong/oval, but he's Jake so he can be any size or shape (said my husband). Maybe I'll try to make him a little skillet and some bacon at some point...LOL

Kaida the Dragon!
Oooof, I may of overstuffed him a little, plus I just hate this easy peasy yarn because I can never seem to get a hook small enough to get rid of the holes.
I also let him sit half-finished for a while XD But I really did enjoy making him and maybe I'll retry the pattern with different yarn that I actually like!

Hear me out: Cross Stitch, Knitting and Crochet are literally the PERFECT hobbies for autistic people. It’s got texture, instructions to follow, codes and symbols to learn, grids to match. It’s repetitive, it makes soothing little noises. A lot of special interests have related patterns so it’s a 2 for 1 deal. Good starting conversation topic if you are feeling social but also doubles as a reason to ask to be left alone. Shit slaps.
#XD#it really is!#I used to cross stitch when I was younger#but I let the perfectionist in me take over...#so I never completed things#but I def love have instructions/patterns written out and just following along#crochet
