Reminder to avoid buying anything crochet new from big stores. Crochet (unlike knit) CANNOT be done by a machine and must be done by an actual human being. The person who made it was definitely not paid an appropriate amount for their labour. Most big stores use sweatshops anyway and I know it’s hard to completely avoid buying anything from a major store. But if those specific items don’t sell, we can send a message to companies that we don’t want items made fully by hand using slave labour

This summer, avoid any new crochet items. You don’t need THAT specific top that badly

Walking into a yarn shop like it's an art museum. Admiring all the colorways and textures of the various skeins. Nodding my head at the tasteful displays of handmade items by the local knitting/crochet group to demonstrate the different yarn brands. Talking to the owner to learn more about the local fiber art scene and learning about different dyers, and crafters in the area that I would have never found on the internet. Buying one too many skeins to continue my pursuit of creating beautiful things to bring joy into mine and others lives. My way of paying homage to this wonderland of fibrous beauty.

Finished the "Lemon Girl" dress by LovedayLemon (biscuitbear). Her pattern was great and is available on her Etsy.

Biscuitbear's photos and dolls were a huge reason I got into the hobby circa 2008. It feels quite surreal to have something so very her aesthetic in my hands now. I'm so happy she made & shared her pattern for this one!

Enchanted Forest Treasures

Mini Octopi!

These little guys come from the depths of the Enchanted Lake, though spending most of their time in the water, they can freely move around in the land and air! It's a very common sight in the Enchanted Forest to see them riding on the caps of their mushroom-boy friends.

Funfact: They turn into the color of the food they eat the most of!(It's believed to be their favourite!)

Pop pop pop the little Popshrooms hop! They're chatty little fellas who love to listen to their friends and family talk about the things they love and are always there to pop around whether startled, happy or excited.

I had a very silly idea just now: what if I set up a mini Muse concert just for my dolls?

To nobody's surprise, setting this up without triggering a small-scale domino effect took ages. A shame I didn't have any other props to make this more "realistic".
