So because people already voiced their opinion on where twst story is heading, I also want to voice my opinion as well and I'm on neither side as this is purely from my perspective.

Well, we can all agree that the Diasomnia chapter is dragging too long and some of us are already bored of it (me, as Crowley stan who actually has been sleeping the entire Diasomnia chapter, no pun intended, but already made a peace out of it)

But still, am I the only one who is actually getting excited? No, I'm not talking about Diasomnia chapter. I'm actually talking about Ramshackle chapter.

Because the other day I found an info in X that Yana is on a long hiatus from Black Butler because she is going to England during her break to do research.

Now this might seem like she is doing this research only for Black Butler, but what if...the reason why twst seems to repeat the previous books on Diasomnia chapter is because :

1. They want to slip some hints that refer to book 8 (Ramshackle chapter) so that everything is suddenly making sense once we enter Ramshackle chapter, and

2. They also want to give Yana some period of time dedicated doing research for the last book, the Ramshackle chapter for Twisted Wonderland as well?

Because if twst is really heading to the direction of "Through The Looking Glass and What Alice Found There", just like how it has been hinted by in-game Mickey Mouse, then that means she is most likely doing research for Twisted Wonderland as well, because both Black Butler and the real literature of Alice in Wonderland with its sequel Through The Looking Glass are actually have something in common and that is : "Victorian Era"

Black Butler is telling a story about an Earl with his demon butler, and serves as the watchdog of Queen Victoria, which means the manga itself is about the Victorian era. While the original book of Alice in Wonderland and Through The Looking Glass was written during the Victorian era, in which so many cultures around that time had influenced it.

Ok technically the first one is when u level up his card but whatever– here we see Yuu worrying about Ruggie, offering to help him clean Leona's room, and Ruggie offering to cook something for Yuu as long as Yuu gives him the ingredients like??? That's so cute??? And could easily be interpreted as them trying to get slowly close to each other (aka how I see it given Daisy (my Yuu) and Ruggie's relationship)

New Years Attire:

I cut the first part of the line bc I couldn't take a photo but basically Yuu was offering Ruggie some food (I think sweets specifically?), and it's just so cute how Yuu does it without thinking like🥹🥹 I can see that as Yuu wanted to feed Ruggie to see him happy– which same–

The first one Ruggie calls Yuu to eat something with him??? Like??? What???? I've realized that Theia Blackthorn is a hoe. I mean I knew that already but it's just registered to me. Like I know that she loves helping people and wants peace and all but atleast 60% of her going to new york is bc of hoe reasons. Good for her.

It was also kinda interesting to see how much he hates Madeline. I agree but also I'm kinda hopeful that Madeline will have some sort of growth and see what she's doing is wrong before she does something that is truly unforgivable and irreversible. Also I think that regardless of their faults, Kyle and Victoria are good parents and they're trying to do what's best for their son (atleast according to them). I'm glad Kincaid has people who care about him and love him.

Lance is a little shit and I love him. Cannot wait to see him suffer when Theia comes (affectionate).

This was such a great chapter. I'm in the middle of my exams and reading lbaf is part of my self care (also I have no self control).

Just randomly reading some folklore and came across a cat sìth and I can't help but think that Grim maybe inspired or have taken some inpiration from it

Knowing Yana, maybe it's not a coincidence and actually ties in with Grim's ultimate role in the main story...? The similarities are there.

A cat sith, as described by Wikipedia, is a fairy appears in the form of a black cat with a white spot on its chest and is capable of standing on two feet. They appear in Celtic lore and generally as a malevolent force. In some tellings, the cat sith is actually a witch that can shift between a human and a cat form 9 times; if the witch turned into their cat form on the 9th time, they would be stuck as a cat forever.

Who else do we know that is a dark-colored bipedal cat with a patch of white fur on his chest??? Who appears like an animal but can cast magic like a witch (/mage)??? Who's constantly getting into trouble? Grim, Grim, Grim.

Shadier still is the fact that Grim has been described by Idia as having a complicated and powerful “thousand-year old primeval magic” cast on him. Who do we know that is reasonably capable of weaving such a curse or a blessing?? Given context clues, it has to be a Draconia or someone who is otherwise very magically inclined. Shroud Papa even likens Malleus’s UM to that of Grim’s magic. That means Grim has an unknown association with fae. There’s a similar air of mystery around both him and fairies too, with STYX being unaware of how to analyze Grim’s test results and not knowing how their memory erasure system would effect long-lives creatures like fae. It seems a tad suspicious, no??

Now here's what's really interesting: the cat sith is said to steal the souls of the deceased before the gods can claim them. Cat siths will linger around burial sites and lie in wait for their opportunity to snatch up the souls. In order to ward these fae off, people would distract them with rituals or safeguard the bodies until they could be safely buried. Another tradition associated with the cat sith is leaving out a bowl of milk for them to drink from; supposedly, this would bless the household. If the offering was not given, then it was said that the home would be cursed for its selfishness and left to starve.

In book 6, Crowley states that once a Phantom is ripped away from its mage and the Phantom fades away, “condensed blot can crystallize.” In other words, the crystallized blot seems to be a concentrated remnant of the Phantom (since it is made of blot?)… sort of like a departed soul… which cat siths hide in wait to snatch up…

So that’s… a clear tie to death 💀 which connects well with the “Yuu is dead” theory. Even for the in-game Yuu, whom we do not technically see getting run over by a vehicle, meets Grim when Yuu steps out of a coffin. In other words, Grim, in trying to get into NRC as a new student, was lingering near a bunch of coffins like a cat sith would.

Like, HELLO????? What does this mean, Yana??? 😭

my opinion is more of a hunch. considering the pace black butler story is marching at (note I’m talking about the plot progression!), i wholeheartedly believe we are nowhere near the end.

first, the proceeding of the story is quite similar to yana’s black butler. a global plot which isn’t highlighted that much (throwing around clues and hints, but that’s pretty much all), each chapter is basically a small sub-plot story in itself. we’ll likely have a chapter FULLY focused on every “why?” question about mc we have for now

next. twst has… many loose ends for now, the most obvious being ace’s unique magic, identity of crowley, the possible time loop, scarabia conflict, almost all non-dorm-leader-characters’ conflicts (hi we need more backstory on leech twins and therapy for cater please) and much more i can’t remember now lolol

i personally feel stuffing all of these in two chapters or so, even considering their length, would be too rushed. and the main story of twst, truthfully, doesn’t rush anywhere at all (imho the pacing is slow as in black butler). besides, most of the chapter 7 by now is focused on backstories, fleshing out the characters, again, it doesn’t talk about the global plot points much. and, solving and highlighting all the before mentioned conflicts of characters would simply be too much

yes i am sincerely hoping writers would be sane enough not to end the game too quickly

(there’s so much to explore in twst world, please i’m starving i need more worldbuilding!!)

oh, and also. it’s not likely they’ll end such a money-grabbing machine that soon. they can make an obey me move with yuu returning to their world and then coming back again

Ch 175: Cannibalism & Hallucinations

Bard’s flashback begins in the last 4 pages of the chapter, and they’re very interesting.

In the first page, we see Bard in a cave, apparently the only survivor amongst his fellow soldiers, whose bodies surround him.

We get a close up of his face— tormented, full of fear and horror, but if you look closer, notice he’s drooling!!

His hand shakes and his head swims as he holds the knife near one of the dead man’s arms.

Is he so desperate from hunger he’s ready to resort to cannibalism?

If you remember in chapter 172, Bard had his fake PTSD attack in order to keep Lau close. I hypothesized that at least some of what he says during that attack must be based on his real experiences... and it seems as if I may have been right.

For example, he says this in ch 172:

“We’ve run out of bullets and food. We’re finished.”

That certainly seems to be the situation in this flashback. If he had bullets, he could hunt for something, but without that, and no sign of any reinforcements or supplies, probably with hostile Indians in the area, Bard is left with only two choices: eat one of his fallen brothers, or starve to death.

I knew his flashback would be dark, but I wasn’t expecting it to take this direction!

Just when he’s about to slice into the arm, he suddenly notices he’s not alone in the cave after all!

That dork of a butler, setting up a goddamned picnic....!

It’s likely at this point, Bard must think Sebastian is a hallucination. He’s starving, injured, alone, probably cold and damp, and suddenly here is a whole feast being laid out before his eyes, in a completely inexplicable manner. It can’t possibly be real.

“Why, hello, It’s time for tea, is it not?”

I do find it very interesting—if Bard was indeed about to eat his fellow soldier—that Yana chose to go this route. It’s very believable as Calvary units in this time were often deep in hostile territory far away from any US settlements, and supplies were often cut off. But more than that, the main crux of this story is that Sebastian is going to eat Ciel (his soul).

This was a very conscious choice Yana made.

Recall how Mey Rin was ravenous too when they first met her, and the first job was to feed her once they decided to hire her. And if you remember the flashback during the campania arc, Ciel was also starved when they first returned to the manor after forming the contract, and Sebastian’s first job after restoring the house was to bathe and feed him (even if he did it badly, lol).

So now we have Bard, starving, about to eat someone, who will be fed by Sebastian.... Intriguing.

I’m very interested to see what happens next.

Good question I'll go phase by phase for the Nihil/Path and quickly do the Drengir first.

The drengir are cool and interesting but I'm also a big plant person so of course I'm like "Plant monster? Love it". I really want to see more of them, both how they got there and if they ever reamaerge.

I know the Amaxine station was briefly used in a comic set in the sequels but didn't hear anything about the Drengir there but doesn't mean they'll never show up again.

The Nihil in phase 1 I didn't think much of.

Yeah individual characters are cool, I really liked Tempest Runner and how much more we learn about Lourna from it but as a group I wasn't particularly interested.

They're just causing chaos for the sake of it, it seemed like.

The Path in phase 2 was interesting, I really like how we knew where they'd end up but now how they got there but everything pointed towards the egg and how creepy it was.

I was slightly concerned that the Evereni may represent negative stereotypes about Indigenous peoples, but we also see that a lot of the characters perceptions of the Evereni were just based on stereotypes, neither Marda or Yana were particularly violent until pushed to be and characters of other species have been shown worse.

Not saying that erases the caution around how they're represented, that's not mine to say but definitely a talking point especially with my thoughts on phase 3.

So phase 3 obviously is still in very early days, I haven't got to read Defy the Storm yet because nowhere has it in stock so this is mainly from Eye of Darkness, I didn't have many thoughts about them from Escape from Valo which is surprising considering what I'm about to say and which author wrote it.

Phase 3 has gave a lot more depth to the Nihil in a way that certainly wasn't planned and I'm just pointing out this is my interpretation, I don't know of this was intentional on the authors behalf.

Eye of Darkness came out November 14th, obviously this was all written and set to be published then way before October 7th the authors couldn't of known that how they described the Nihils actions could be so closely compared to real life events being talked about en-masse.

In Eye of Darkness we learn that the Nihil have set up a wall preventing people leaving or entering without their permission, people are starving, the Nihil are killing anyone associated with the Jedi and they're doing it because they want the power.

I don't remember if all the authors have spoke up about Palestine I think most have shared at least one post, Daniel José Older has posted about it almost every day and is Jewish himself so it's obviously something that's effected him quite a lot, that alongside the fact I'm 90% sure the words "Genocide" and "Occupation" were used in Eye of Darkness is what's drew me to these conclusions, again may not of been their intentions.

Which is where I wanna come back to Phase 2 and how the Evereni are represented.

Learning Marda and Yana were the last two thought to be left humanised them and by consequence Marchion, they're angry, they're afraid, they have nothing left to loose.

Compare that to people defending the Israeli goverment with things such as "If they stop attacking they'll be destroyed" "They have nowhere else to go" "Jewish people deserve reparations for WW2".

Yes both Jewish people and the Evereni deserve to not be hated, to have somewhere they feel safe and compensation from those that hurt them.

But not like this.

Killing the Palestinian people/Jedi does not help them, starving people and stealing their land won't erase those stereotypes, trapping people won't change the past.

This isn't meant to be a direct comparison obviously the real life occupation is much more complex but it's how I've been viewing the Nihil in phase 3.

Did you guys know we're getting a canonically aroace character in live action Star Wars THIS SUMMER

Vernestra Rwoh from the High Republic era was confirmed to be being played by Rebecca Henderson in the new show Acolyte coming out this year.

Vernestra was confirmed aroace by her main writer Justina Ireland (writer of Dread Nation, a great read!) And the word aromantic was used in her section of the High Republic characters encyclopedia.

The High Republic in general is full of queer, women and non white characters, the authors are so nice and so is the fandom.

I was at Celebration when Vernestra was announced to be in live action and I cried so much I can't wait for more people to know her.

A little background info, Vernestra is the current known youngest Jedi to be knighted, she was 15!

Her former master Stellan Gios is one of the marshals of Starlight Beacon and for a little bonus rep is implied to be in love with two of his best friends (the authors do drop hints to this, it's not just fans).

Her next appearance is in Defy the Storm by Justina Ireland and Tessa Graton coming out next month, I can't wait to see what happens.

Jimin was going to be busy for majority of the day with his parents, which left you feeling a little sad. But, you knew he had to do what he had to do and he had offered to come by and spend time with you tonight. As you were about to head out and explore on your own with the tips he had given you, a call from an unknown number popped up on your screen.

"Hello?"

"Y/N!" Jungkook's voice came through on the other line. "I hope you don't mind, I asked Jimin for your number not too long ago."

"No, you're good." You chuckled. "What's up?"

"Wanna hang out with me and Tae? We're gonna head to Common Ground."

"Sure!"

"Sick!" He exclaims. "I'll send you our address. Do you think you'll be okay heading over?"

"Yeah, I got it." You responded, remembering Jimin's directions to his place in the event you ever needed anything.

"Okay, just let me know if you get lost and I'll come find you." You chuckled before responding with a simple 'okay' to end the call. You were confident in your memory of the directions, which led you to their place in a matter of minutes. They didn't live too far from Yana, and you remember Jimin saying so since Yana doesn't drive and would simply take public transportation to and from places.

Upon your arrival at their apartment, Taehyung was cleaning up in the kitchen while Jungkook was throwing on a jacket. Jungkook gave you a little tour of their apartment, which was surprisingly clean and smelled of vanilla birchwood. Sooner or later, the three of you were off into town to visit Common Ground, which was considered Korea's first cultural space that was made out of shipping containers. The view and the entirety of it was pretty neat, and you kind of wished Jimin was here, but Jungkook and Taehyung were just as great of travel buddies. They talked a lot about their hometowns and what it was like moving to Seoul, plus how they truly value Korea and it's culture. You were coming to learn what a truly spectacular and beautiful place it was, and it was even more refreshing to hear from the boys themselves how much they loved being from Korea.

After navigating through the crowds and having spent more money on souvenirs and clothes, the three of you decided to eat up and grab some grub. For a minute, you lost Jungkook because he ran into some people he knew, leaving you and Taehyung to eat together.

"This place is neat isn't it?"

"Yeah, it's really cool. Thanks for taking me along." He nodded as his lips poked out while eating his food. You thought it was the most adorable thing.

"You know, Jimin's been really happy since you guys started spending a lot of time together."

"Oh yeah?" You giggled. Yes, Taehyung. Expose him.

"It's actually really nice to see." He chuckled. You knew him and Taehyung had known each other the longest out of their group, but he still held a very tight relationship with Jungkook, Hoseok and Jin. "He's always been the one to take care of people. I just wanna see him happy. He does a lot for the people he cares about."

"I know, he's really the sweetest person I've ever met. He's an angel."

"He was really destroyed over his ex." You continued to listen. "He loved her, a lot. He did everything for her and sacrificed a lot to keep her happy. But she couldn't reciprocate it 100% and that killed him time and time again."

"How long ago was that?"

"About a year ago? Even then, he tried not to have any bad blood with her after she had mistreated him. He has a good heart and mind. He deserves someone good who can take care of him." Your stomach fluttered with the countless butterflies, but most of the happiness you felt, also turned into anxiety. The days were counting down and you wouldn't be here for much longer. "He really, really likes you Y/N."

"I-I do, too. But-" Taehyung looked over at you, concerned. "I'm not going to be here for much longer." You shrugged. "It really sucks."

"Why don't you stay for a little more?"

"Work. My life is back in LA." He nodded. As much as it hurt you to say that, it was true. You wished it was easy to pick up your things and move around the world, but part of you felt silly for even thinking that over a holiday-solo-vacation love story.

"It's gonna be hard, but I honestly don't think Jimin cares. I think he'd make this work with you."

"But is that fair to him? Our time difference and-and, who knows when I'll get to physically see him again? Hearing what he went through.. what if I can't give him what he deserves?"

"I know all of it sounds like a mess and like it would never work, but don't you think you two meant for a reason?" He wasn't trying to be Jimin's right-hand at the moment, he was doing this because he truly could see how the both of you genuinely felt for each other. He hadn't seen Jimin have this glow, this type of genuine happiness to him in a long, long time.

"I don't know, I guess I'm just scared, and I would never want to put Jimin through anything he doesn't deserve."

"I get you." He replies. "But I do hope you know how much he cares about you. Like, I'm really not doing this because he's my bestfriend and all." He laughed. "But because I want to see the both of you happy."

"Thank you." You smiled at him toothlessly, the thoughts now flooding your head. All you wanted to do at this point was run into Jimin's arms and never let go. It would be your new safe haven. All you wanted was Jimin.

The rest of the day with Taehyung and (finally, again) Jungkook was chill, as you grabbed some desserts and played around at a nearby park before heading home to rest. You felt a sudden wave of exhaustion hit you, so you took a quick shower, threw on an oversized tee and shorts before retreating to the bed for a nice, late afternoon nap. You quickly texted Jimin that you'd leave the door unlocked so he could just walk in case you were deadass knocked out and couldn't hear the knocks or phone ringing.

Jimin had been helping his parents do a ton of revamping at their café, while also holding down the fort and doing what he can to help during peak hours. He was exhausted, nonetheless, but was excited to see you. He jetted off to the loft with food from the café to for some dinner, all while chuckling at the text you sent, wondering what the hell Jungkook and Taehyung had put you through today to knock you the hell out.

"Y/N?" He calls out softly. No response. He gently shuts the door and chucks his shoes to the side befofe laying the food out on the kitchen counter. It's peacefully quiet, even as Jimin climbs up the steps to the bedroom area.
