*sigh* tsss I think it is the first edit of Crowley I am going to post... I have some issue with our dear headmaster (please it sounds too obvious for you to be Malleus's dad... don't be... Yana-sensei...please!)

Anyhow!! Crow loves glitter, jewel gold whatever things shines! For me Crowley is the crow familiar of the Evil Queen, he took after the castle (NRC) when Snow White moved with the Prince (RSA). So a crow familiar... almost fairy not sure.

But he is yasashiii he will help his studennnts...RIGHT!!

Do you have a sense about how the other teacher feel about Crowley? Like the students actively don’t respect him but the teacher seems to not critique him too harshly, like yes he’s the boss but they could admit he’s ridiculous

Man. It's so funny yet also so pathetic like that NONE of Crowley's students seem to respect him 😭 Ironically, this could read as a positive characterization of him. Like... yeah, it's likely that Crowley gets no respect and is largely ignored is because he barely does any work, but the fact that his students believe that all he does is uselessly yammer and that he's not capable of strong magic tells us he isn't much a fan of wielding what immense power he does have. This in of itself can be interpreted as a kindness; he doesn't magically force people to act in his favor. He's capable of and prefers to use other means (though those "other means" arguably aren't cleaner; this includes bribery, shaming, and threatening), using magic only as a last resort. It also tells us that Crowley is the type of person who is aware of his strength but intentionally holds himself back... which could honestly be threatening for later down the line or when situations get super serious.

... Okay, enough of that tangent. To your question!! ^^ I scoured the staff content that's currently avaliable in JP (since there's more of it out on that server), and from what I gather, the opinions are actually quite varied.

Of the NRC staff, Trein is definitely the most critical of the headmaster. He often nags Crowley for unprofessional behavior, such as scolding him for 10 minutes when he was late by 10 seconds to a staff meeting (from one of Crowley's Unified Exam voice lines). This is no real surprise, as Trein has always been a stickler for decorum and is more commonly known for telling off Crewel and his own students for disorderly conduct. Vargas also states that Trein has scolded him multiple times before, so it's not like Crowley is the only recipient of Trein's ire. However, he still respects Crowley as a leader and follows his instructions when work is delegated to him. For example, Trein is assigned to chaperone the students to Fleur City/the City of Flowers in GloMasq, and Trein is also the teacher that is left in charge when Crowley is taken away for questioning by Styx in book 6.

Crewel is aware of Crowley's... eccentricities... but doesn't really go out of his way to critique him for that behavior. At this point, Crewel seems pretty accustomed to the headmaster's silliness and does little more than comment on the strangeness of it. For example, he tells a story in Crowley's Raven Jacket vignettes about how the headmaster offered to eat game meat that Crewel had been saving to have last for lunch. Crewel remarks that it's times like this when he thinks that Crowley's though process is a little wonky. Overall, I guess Crewel sees Crowley as a little odd, but does not choose to get actively involved in correcting his attitude (unlike Trein, whom he often has beef with and talks back to, or Vargas, whom he tells to be quieter and less rowdy).

Vargas generally gets along well with Crowley. He's quite friendly and boisterous, inviting the headmaster to come and sit with the rest of the staff when the cafeteria is crowded for lunchtime, while Crowley lauds Vargas’s passion. Not once does Vargas comment on Crowley's odd behaviors or criticize him for slacking off or not acting in a manner befitting the role of headmaster. (Debatable exception is Crowley’s one Flight voice line where he wonders if Vargas is scolding him as well.) This doesn't mean that he completely disregards Crowley as his boss though. There are instances in which Vargas and Crowley collude, like how Vargas suggests heavier materials for the school's P.E. uniforms to help strengthen their muscles; Crowley considers the proposal. They also worked together to plan Vargas Camp and an incentive to the best performing club. I'd also imagine that he and Crowley also bond over their interest in sports and their vanity/j, as Vargas is a very centered on athleticism.

Finally, Sam also has some pretty good vibes with the headmaster--though how much of this is genuine good will and how much of it is to maintain a good business relationship as business owner and customer is up to interpretation. Crowley sometimes stops by the Mystery Shop to chill with Sam, and they engage in bets to see if he can make Sam run out of stock. It sounds like Crowley occasionally vents to Sam, as Sam refers to him talking endlessly and griping. He says that if Crowley bought more things, then he would be more inclined to listen to him. Still, Sam's cheer never appears to waver.

So to summarize, Trein criticizes Crowley the most but still yields to his authority, Crewel is neutral but does acknowledge Crowley's ridiculousness, Vargas is welcoming and totally fine with Crowley's flaws, and Sam is a friendly listener who sees a consistent customer. I think they must all respect him as headmaster to some degree (though they do seem to need a break from him every once in a while; notably, they did not invite Crowley to their after-hours staff Halloween party). Part of it is that he’s their boss, but as Crowley has shown us in his card vignettes, he is also far more competent of a mage than you might think on initial impression—and what do those at NRC respect and respond to, if not power?

I’m not a fan of the “Crowley is Levan/Raverne” theory.

One, it feels like a repeat of the infamous “Rose Quartz is Pink Diamond” and that fandom was so insufferable after the reveal.

Two, I’m not confident a reveal like that would go well. Amnesia or Crowley just not coming back leaves a massive plot hole in how Lilia didn’t recognize him. Considering this is a game about things not being as they seem/nothing being black and white, Crowley just being awful is probably off the table. That pretty much leaves Crowley is an OB Raverne as the potential solution.

I said something similar in a previous post.

I like Crowley just being Crowley. I wouldn't mind a little more exploration into his character, because there is a bit of an air or mystery around him, but I DO NOT want him to be any kind of linch pin for the story. Let alone Malleus' long lost father!

I don't like the idea. As anon said, it would be hard to pull off especially with Lilia having known him for years personally. At the most I throw the crack theory in here thay Crowley could be Malleus' half-brother after Raverne lost his memories or something and ended up starting a new life. I'd kind of take that.

I have the bad feeling though that they are going to make Crowley important in the final chapter. There is about a 99% chance that I will like the bird man significantly less if they do. So I'm a bit aprehensive about that.

Yana is listed in the credits section of the game itself as the creator of the concept, the creator of the main story, the character designer and the creative director for Twisted Wonderland!

In order to not make any assumptions about what that means, I have compiled a collection of quotes from Yana explaining what it is she does ^^

It seems common for English-language speakers to use the name "Yana," while in the JP sphere fans vary from "Toboso Yana" to "Toboso Yana-sensei," "Yana-sensei," "Toboso Yana-san," etc., none of which are impolite ^^

Twisted Wonderland Yuu oc Rambles

Notes : I don't usually do yume here (prefer to do it on X instead) but I have been thinking lately since my research on twst with Alice in Wonderland and Through The Looking Glass almost completed, I can say the hcs, world building and my Yuu-sona lore is already matured enough. Therefore I want to re-introduce my Yuu oc again because I think you will be going to see her more often from now on. I have always been a Crowley yume since day one I created this blog around two years ago and all of my research are all actually dedicated to build her lore so that I can ship her with my most favorite character in twst : Crowley

Without further ado, meet my twst oc/ Yuu oc/ Yuu sona : Ayumu Astaude

Character overview (subject to change depending on where the canon story is going) :

She is originally a 21 years old antique shop owner which she inherited from her deceased family at the age of 16 as she decided to drop out of school and continue her family's legacy. During her work restoring Victorian era post-mortem photos from an anonymous client, she fainted in front of an antique large mirror at night due to poisonous gas leaking. At that time she experienced a phenomenon called "Bloody Mary effect" where the reflected image in the mirror looks distorted because of the dimly lit shop and her fading consciousness. She saw a hand in the mirror and desperately reached out to it before she fainted. The next time she opened her eyes, she woke up in a coffin inside a room with many coffins and a large dark mirror and a strangely cat-like monster named Grim.

If anyone asks what she is twisted from, she is twisted from Queen Alice of Through The Looking Glass by Lewis Carroll.

Despite being twisted from Queen Alice of Through The Looking Glass, her hair color isn't yellow/blonde but red instead. I made it that way so that it may refer to Persephone, the Greek Goddess in which the original Alice in Wonderland was inspired from (and also as parallel to Riddle since he is the leader of Alice in Wonderland dorm, a prequel to Through The Looking Glass)

Her coffin logo is a White Queen chess piece in front of a mirror (in the original Through The Looking Glass, Queen Alice is a white pawn that got promoted as White Queen.)

Personality wise, she is pretty much like Goddess Persephone but calmer. She also got other traits from a certain ancient Goddess in which the original Through The Looking Glass was inspired from (I'm not talking about it here though but let's talk about it next time in a separate post) Her perceptive, composed and curious nature made her a formidable strategist and also a Prefect to watch over the other students. Her responsibility as a Prefect gave her a special condition : she doesn't need to join any club in NRC so that she can just focus more on her work and seeking information about how to go back to her own world. Crowley deliberately wrote her age as 18 for her student ID since she didn't have her identity card with her when she arrived in Twisted Wonderland (so that he could make her doing the workload equivalent to an NRC staff but being paid below minimum wage)

She doesn't have and can't use magic, but her knowledge of many things as an antique shop owner are already enough to make up for it.

So because people already voiced their opinion on where twst story is heading, I also want to voice my opinion as well and I'm on neither side as this is purely from my perspective.

Well, we can all agree that the Diasomnia chapter is dragging too long and some of us are already bored of it (me, as Crowley stan who actually has been sleeping the entire Diasomnia chapter, no pun intended, but already made a peace out of it)

But still, am I the only one who is actually getting excited? No, I'm not talking about Diasomnia chapter. I'm actually talking about Ramshackle chapter.

Because the other day I found an info in X that Yana is on a long hiatus from Black Butler because she is going to England during her break to do research.

Now this might seem like she is doing this research only for Black Butler, but what if...the reason why twst seems to repeat the previous books on Diasomnia chapter is because :

1. They want to slip some hints that refer to book 8 (Ramshackle chapter) so that everything is suddenly making sense once we enter Ramshackle chapter, and

2. They also want to give Yana some period of time dedicated doing research for the last book, the Ramshackle chapter for Twisted Wonderland as well?

Because if twst is really heading to the direction of "Through The Looking Glass and What Alice Found There", just like how it has been hinted by in-game Mickey Mouse, then that means she is most likely doing research for Twisted Wonderland as well, because both Black Butler and the real literature of Alice in Wonderland with its sequel Through The Looking Glass are actually have something in common and that is : "Victorian Era"

Black Butler is telling a story about an Earl with his demon butler, and serves as the watchdog of Queen Victoria, which means the manga itself is about the Victorian era. While the original book of Alice in Wonderland and Through The Looking Glass was written during the Victorian era, in which so many cultures around that time had influenced it.

If this is really their way then I don't mind being starved throughout the Diasomnia chapter so that they can give me a beyond delicious Ramshackle chapter later. I will be fed well as both Crowley stan and yume if it's really this way so I'm not gonna complain 👀✨
