No Church in the Wild
Finding yourself in a new world, you worry that your status as an outworlder will raise suspicion among the people in Teyvat. However, as you befriend the many characters you meet along the way, there seems to be a special connection between you and this world - you realise you worried over nothing. (or: isekai sagau headcanons with creator!reader) Words: 798
Tumblr media
Sunlight pours through the gaps in the tree canopy, casting a warm glow on your skin. You expect to see the familiar ceiling of your room when you open your eyes, however, the soft chirping of birds and the faint chattering of squirrels tell you to expect otherwise.
When you sit up to take in your surroundings, the sight that lies before you is not that of your room, but a massive tree providing shade in the otherwise empty plain. Taking in the gorgeous scenery, a glowing teal butterfly catches your attention, leaving a trail of sparkles in its wake.
You soon realise what you saw is actually a crystalfly, a creature that should only exist in -
Oh this cannot be real.
Processing that you've somehow been transported to a world that should only exist in a game is an adjustment, to say the least. Deciding you need to find work if you ever want to live a normal life in this world, you join the Adventurer’s Guild. It pays well and gives you the chance to travel to different nations on the pretence of completing commissions.
When you’re out late at night in Liyue Harbor, you find yourself gravitating towards the Wanmin restaurant. Xinyan looks up from taste-testing Xiangling’s new recipe to wave and call you over. Ever so thoughtful, Xiangling quickly makes you a bowl so you have something to eat while you talk to them. The two of them let you sit down and talk whenever you need them to lend an ear - bless them. Sometimes when you visit the restaurant, Shenhe is there too. She appreciates being able to relax in your company, seeing how you never force her to participate in the conversation while you respond to Guoba's cheerful chirps.
Nilou's dance all but mesmerises you when you watch her practicing a new choreography, perfecting her steps. You only realise you’ve been staring by the time she finishes her dance. The girl stops you from apologising for your rudeness, inviting you to watch her next performance at the Grand Bazaar. From then on, you attend as many of Nilou’s performances as you can, always bringing her water and snacks for the both of you to share while you celebrate another dance well done. There's an especially important performance one day. When you present to her the bouquet of Padisarahs you so carefully prepared, they are the most resplendent flowers that the dancer has ever seen. She almost wonders if you witnessed the Padisarah bloom for the Goddess of Flowers all those years ago.
Of course, being a member of the Adventurer’s Guild, you often have run-ins with Bennett, Fischl, and Razor. You join them on their picnics, admiring the scenery together as you tell them stories from your world. Your friends listen intently while you speak of horseless wagons made of metal and buildings that scrape the sky. It's hard to tell whether they are just being polite, or if they are extremely invested in the concept of electric toothbrushes. Nevertheless, you always enjoy these times you spend together. The weather is always perfect and you never see monsters around, as if nature itself wishes to please you.
Beidou warns you to be careful when you sit on the edge of the Crux, your legs dangling above the water; but she can't help the smile that comes with watching you and Kazuha excitedly exchange songs and poetry of the respective worlds you hail from. Your voice carries an indescribable peacefulness to it as the world seems to bend to your song. A gentle breeze blows through your hair, and you swear you can hear a faint whisper. There's one time you fall over the edge and start plummeting towards the ocean below. Kazuha reaches out to catch you a moment too late; but before you hit the water, a gust of wind lifts you up. The whispering is more apparent this time, almost as if the wind is giggling, teasing you endlessly. Kazuha, seeing your flustered expression, can't help but smile as he thinks, so you can hear it too.
You find Kirara makes an excellent adventuring partner. You often run into each other, sometimes deciding to go fishing together as a break. You opt for a rod from the Fishing Association while Kirara prefers to rely on her feline instincts, jumping into the lake. When the sky grows dark and you're sitting on the beach enjoying the grilled fish you prepared, the courier points out how brightly the stars are shining tonight - as well as how much they resemble your eyes.
In your new life, the people of Teyvat are ever so good to you and you hope for this peace to last forever, but it seems you have spoken too soon.

Oracle!Reader Part 9
Masterlist - Part 1, Part 8, Part 10
Warning! This chapter has some gore and death! Remember my sagau has darker worldbuilding and it's an imposter au! Yanderes is a warning in itself.
Muffled thumping and talking bothered your slumber. Feeling groggy you opened your eyes slowly. A groan slips past your lips as your head pounds when you move to sit up. What happened last night?
Memories of the night before coming back to you in a trickle before it rushes your mind all at once. Your mask!
Urgently you feel your face and relax a little at it still being there. But what if Kazuha took it off and put it back on? You would be put in a cell, right? The bedding underneath you were still soft and warm in fact something even warmer was on your legs too...
Looking down you see a head of white and red hair resting on your leg. The sleeping face of Kazuha with bed hair was sitting on a chair letting his upper body rest on the bed.
As cute as he was, sleeping very content on your legs you needed answers to whether he removed your mask or not. Why he was sleeping here was secondary.
"Kazuha? Kazuha, wake up!" You shake his shoulders gently as you call his name. He wakes up almost immediately no doubt due to his sensitive hearing.
"Y/N? Why are you-? Oh. Oh, I'm so sorry." It doesn't take Kazuha long to realize the situation as he jumps away from the bed in a hurry. The slight red to his ears as he turns his head away from you is an easy indicator to his embarrassment.
"It's fine really. You carried me back to my room, right? Thank you for that." His reaction was technically positive while referring you by name meaning he didn't take it off. You should be fine... for now.
"It was no trouble Y/N, especially as you had done the same for me the first night. It's just a little worrying how tired I got once I laid you on the bed. I must have been exhausted from the battle since I didn't drink anything."
Kazuha's complexion starts to cool down as he speaks about the sudden sleepiness. It's quite convenient, a little too convenient. Teyvat probably had a hand in this. You were grateful for it either way.
Politely you dismiss Kazuha who is more than eager to escape the situation. Packing up the last of your stuff and freshening up, you leave the room and climb the stairs.
The cawing of birds become clear, and you look to see the bustling pier of Liyue Harbor. You recognize it as the farthest pier from the city entrance. Unlike the game where you only saw a few people and sellers, it was much busier now.
People of all colors and clothing walked around buying, selling, playing, and working. Liyue was said to be home to many people meeting, so it was nice to see an actual busy port.
Tightening your grip on the strap of the bag, you hope that the crowd will help you escape from meeting any acolytes. Zhongli, Ningguang, and Yelan were the top people to avoid. A smart, well connected Ningguang is far more dangerous than the isolated adeptus Ganyu or Xiao.
"Y/N! Y/N!" Turning around at the sound of your name, a hug from a very excited chef and panda nearly topples you. Smiling a little you hug her back.
"Woke up fine after passing out like that Xiangling?" She pulls away with a pout at your words. Guoba is still clinging to you, and you pet his head while smiling at Xiangling.
"I'll be able to handle more next time! I swear it." You nod along to her determination before asking her a question.
"Where's Xinyan? I know she had a performance today; did she leave already?"
"That's correct. Xinyan had to leave around the same time Beidou left for business. Furong relayed her message to me about it."
Kazuha strolls to where you're standing with Xiangling. He's carrying a small bag with him hinting that he might be staying in Liyue for a while.
"That's a shame, maybe I'll get to see her when I'm in Liyue Harbor. I'm guessing you both have your own ideas on what to do in Liyue."
Speaking casually, you begin walking off the boat onto the port, Kazuha and Xiangling follow behind you.
Xiangling speaks about fishing before going to Wanmin Restaurant where she can go back to helping her dad. Kazuha's calm voice mentions a trip to the Lisha area where he had yet to explore.
Keeping your tone light, you vaguely speak of traveling around and the possibility of visiting another nation. It's best to have a flexible track record to avoid being stuck in any minor lies.
The crowd around you seems to grow thicker. It pushes the three of you together into a clump in the crowd. The smell of fish, sweat, and salt is grossing you out.
Kazuha's featherlight grip on your wrist and Xiangling's warm hand on your shoulder are what helped you all stay together and escape the masses. You sigh in relief at the cool breeze sweeping away the hot sticky feeling.
Quickly you begin saying your goodbyes to them only to be surprised by their slight clinginess.
"Why are you leaving so fast? I can treat you to a meal at Wanmin Restaurant first." She keeps her hand on your shoulder as she inches closer. Trills come from below and you look to see Guoba clinging to your leg. When did he come over?
"I agree, we don't have to split so fast. If anything, you can explore the Lisha area with me." Kazuha changes his grip from your wrist to your hand with ease.
You would be more than happy to, but you really didn't want to attract more vision holders. They would inevitably ask about you since you awakened most of them. That would lead to more questions, more lies, and less freedom.
"I'm sorry but I do have things to take care of in the city first. I don't want to hold either of you back. Xiangling, the fish you want are only around this time of day and Kazuha, I won't have you waiting hours or even days for me." You speak with firm tone and escape their holds.
Xiangling and Guoba wear matching sad puppy looks while Kazuha seems calm. The slight tremble of his hands as he waves goodbye to you doesn't go unnoticed.
He really can't understand just why he's so attached to you. It's not like him to get this troubled by saying goodbye to people he's met during his travels. His hand shook resisting the urge to hold you again.
Perhaps some time away from you would be good. For you and him.
You turn the corner around Hanfeng's Ironmongers and release the breath you've been holding. Relaxing your shoulders, you resist the urge to groan as you walk along the stone floor.
This was certainly a new pattern that you've begun to notice in your acolytes but not unwelcome. Being clingy and attached to you will help blind them from any slip ups you might make. It was nice to feel loved by your comfort characters too...
The headache you've been sporting since you woke up pulses as if reminding you of its existence. Drinking on a boat was not your best decision but you wouldn't count it as your worst yet. That spot belonged to your moment of weakness with Gorou that gained Yae's attention.
Sighing you keep walking trying to remember the first stop you had planned.
"-thank you for supporting the Adventurers' Guild." Your ears perked at the end of the sentence and a person in the signature green outfit.
That's right, you wanted to finally join the Guild since you never got the chance to in Inazuma. With renewed vigor you walk further and climb up the stone steps.
As you begin climbing the wooden staircase (was it always this high?) you see a black hat and two long twin tails as you climb up. The body gestures and promotional voice are a clear indicator to who is gracing Lan, the Liyue Branch Master, with her presence.
"This new proposal is designed to make anyone, especially you agree to it. The Wangsheng Funeral Parlor is always up to date, so we increased the number of coffins you get with your first order to 150 wooden coffins due to departure of Rex Lapis."
You get to the top of the stairs letting you have front row seats to the amusing sale performance.
"I hope you remember the on-site cadaver collection service covering almost every region in Liyue. Because I'm proud to say that we now cover them all. The fee is still very affordable of course!"
Hu Tao smiles perfectly as Lan only gets more annoyed.
"Even when you had the traveler, I still rejected you."
"So, you do remember! That's perfect as now I won't have to drag her here to be a reference again. The Wangsheng Funeral Parlor fully understands why you may be hesitant to agree due to the social ideals. Despite the fact that everyone and everything ends. But it truly is in your best interest to agree to my proposal."
Hu Tao seems to get a little more desperate as Lan presses her hands to her temple.
"I mean, she isn't wrong." Your honest thoughts are spoken aloud drawing the women's attention to you.
Unlike Hu Tao's cheery and overly persuasive voice, you take on a more relaxed tone.
"You want to keep your adventurers safe and making them agree to this would look bad is what you're thinking right? But don't you see how Hu Tao's proposal is making them safer? An adventurer agrees to this job knowing that their life is in danger, if they get scared at the thought of signing that waiver then they aren't cut out for adventuring. How would they survive when attacked? They won't, so this may help prevent needless deaths."
Hu Tao's eyes sparkle at your words as Lan seems dumbstruck. You don't blame her, a random person coming up and taking Hu Tao's side on her business practices is a rarity.
"Now if you agree, you could prevent a lot of heart ache for those who are connected to the adventurers too. Someone has to pick up the bodies, Hu Tao's on-site cadaver collection is the best option. If not them then you'll need to have a different adventurer pick them up, have the family pick them up or pay a bigger fee for the Parlor to do it. You wouldn't want someone who was friends, coworker or family to deal with that corpse if you don't have to, right?"
This was all stuff you've wanted to tell Lan when you saw this scene in Hu Tao's story quest. It felt good finally getting it off your chest. Hu Tao's idea was really more like insurance similar to those who worked dangerous jobs like construction.
"Someone that recognizes my genius! I thought I had a way with words until I heard you speak of possibilities I couldn't even fathom. Tell me what's your name?"
Hu Tao shakes your hand excitedly and before you can even open your mouth to respond she looks back to Lan.
"But before that, I would like to seal the deal with Miss Lan on the offer. Wangsheng Funeral Parlor has a long and detailed history of honoring the client's requests on their death bed. So, agree to this now and reap all the benefits!"
"I said no, I'm not telling you again Hu Tao. Say what you will but I'm not changing my mind. And you, do you have any actual business with the Adventurers' Guild? If you do, speak to Katheryne if not then leave."
You chuckle at the way Lan stubbornly rejects Hu Tao with a scowl before piping up coyly.
"Well lucky for you Lan, I'm Y/N and I'm looking to be an adventurer." The smile you have seems to annoy Lan even further. She mutters something sounding very similar to "of course they are" and points at Kathryne.
"Miss Lan may be unwilling to partner up with me but the same can't be said the same for you Y/N. Those eyebags, slumped shoulders, and frizzy hair. All of that to point to you being chased by something intangible. Why don't you come over sometime and I can get you a 30% discount on a nice coffin as thanks for your help?"
Were you really that haggard looking or was Hu Tao exaggerating it to sell to you? The speed Hu Tao can switch targets from Lan to you is bit startling. Her elemental ghost creeps around her back to wrap around your waist pulling you closer to her.
"Much like you said earlier, an adventurer's life isn't easy! If you agree now, I can promise a special on-site cadaver collection that can extend as far as Monstadt and Sumeru. Buy now and save later, it's the families that regret not buying a coffin or spot for burial."
Well, you did vouch for Hu Tao's proposition earlier so it would be hypocritical to refuse now. But what if you're dragged back to Inazuma and die there? Or worse your identity is exposed leading to you not being allowed a funeral?
The furrow of your brows and finger on your chin as you mentally compare the pros and cons makes Hu Tao smile wider. Until an employee from the Funeral Parlor runs up the stairs calling her name.
"Director Hu Tao, we need your help with the same customer from last week. She keeps trying to change the plan last minute!"
Sighing in annoyance, Hu Tao releases you and steps backward letting you have your personal space back.
"It seems this must be all the time we have together Y/N." She keeps her hand over her heart as she speaks dramatically before wistfully continuing. "A meeting with someone like you is once in a lifetime, so here!"
A business card with the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor name, symbol and address is thrusted in front of you. The address changes to something readable as your fingers brush over the words and her cold rings as you take the card from her.
Do you even want to keep this paper? It's like a guaranteed ticket to meeting Zhongli who you've felt very conflicted about since you arrived here. He and Venti have had thousands of years to grow as worshippers while watching the cult grow. If anyone could pick up your lie, it would be them. Maybe burning the paper would be the best option.
You wave in slight befuddlement as the employee drags Hu Tao away in a hurry. Once she's out of sight, you turn back to the Adventurers' Guild front desk.
"So how do I start?"
After filling out the stacks of paperwork Katheryne handed you, you give it back and crack your wrist. It had asked all manners of questions from 'do you have any control over the elements?' to 'which of the three mushroom types is edible?'. Something tells you Lan made it purposefully harder.
Katheryne disappears into the building with Lan and after a few minutes she comes back out with a smile.
"Congratulations, you've been accepted into the Adventurers' Guild. I am unable to draw up an adventure rank for you but here is your adventurer handbook."
You take the familiar handbook from her and wince at the way her voice glitches when speaking about your adventure rank. Katheryne has always been a meta character so perhaps with your isekai'd statues the system is struggling. Or Teyvat is doing this to protect you as it's heavily implied Kathryne was created by Sandrone, the Fatui Harbinger.
"Due to your lack of adventure rank we will skip that area. Instead, we can give you the choice of wearing your regular clothes or the adventurers' uniform. It's made of material designed to stand against attacks, the weather, and long durations of time."
You smile and shake your head. That uniform would be a dead giveaway to your new job. Plus, it was kind of ugly, there was no way you would run around looking like Tingle from Zelda.
Wait why did they never offer the traveler the option to wear the uniform?
"Then let's get to the main aspect of adventuring, which is commissions. Between the choice of a single daily commission or four weekly commissions, you chose the latter. You are free to pick up your commissions tomorrow morning. Any questions or concerns?"
There was no option for four daily commissions on the paperwork. They must have given it due to the traveler proving their strength using the Dvalin stunt that happened right before the 'Welcome to the Adventurers' Guild' quest. Or because it's a game.
"Just one, will I have to fight abyss mages and hilichurls? Since I wrote that I could control some elements and fighting skills."
"Yes, you will have to face such monsters since you said yes to both questions. Of course, you won't be facing strong ones as all new adventurers start with easy monsters until their adventure rank rises. Unfortunately, since we can't assign you a rank, you will never be assigned commission focusing on stronger enemies."
What a relief! You already felt horrible at the thought of fighting against the cursed khaenri'ahs. Making the fight more difficult would just make it worse.
"Then ad astra abyssosque, Adventurer! With effort, you shall reach the stars and conquer the abyss!"
That signature phrase makes you smile at the robotic woman before leaving down the stairs. That had to be the simplest job interview you've every applied for!
Not to mention this is the only one you've ever successfully gotten hired for. Most deny you for not having a high school diploma and the rest for not having a GED. You would have gotten one if your old boss ever let you. But the way a gang keeps you trapped is by cutting off any other options. If you never get better, you can never leave.
You walk back down the stairs and stuff the handbook into your bag. What to do now? Visiting Hu Tao is not an option, and this was Liyue for crying out loud! You couldn't explore Inazuma in fear of being seen but the problem didn't exist in Liyue... for now at least.
Glancing at the teleport waypoint in the middle of the city, you make sure to keep a good distance from it. Accidentally activating it would be the worst thing especially with all the people around.
Pushing back any worries you begin exploring the Harbor while checking stores for anything useful. The red of the building frames were such an eye-catching design compared to the monochrome and neon buildings on Earth.
The lanterns and lights were off, but you could already imagine the sight of them illuminating the city. One thing you did note was how everyone walked on the stairs and avoided the smooth stone. Wasn't that one reserved for royalty or rather the Archons? Best that you avoid it too.
Unable to read the signs you took to spying the wares to see if the stores have what you need. Camping supplies like a tent, sleeping bag (the closest thing was a sleeping mat and a blanket), travel-sized hygiene tools, a lantern that holds a candle and a multi tool. Were the first things on your list.
You couldn't stay in hotels or get lucky enough like you did to stay with the Kamisatos so it's best to be prepared to sleep outside. Hotels and even motels are expensive so it's best to save money until you have a general income established.
Having a game bag was such a blessing. The shopkeepers looked surprised when you stuffed the whole tent into it but not to the point where it's absurd. The adepti inventions and the traveler seemed to have made all these things rare but not unheard of.
Another high priority was medical supplies. There was a chance that the Statue of the Seven could heal you but that could summon the respective Archon too. You didn't want to bleed to death while walking to one either. Unless you could teleport to them too...
With a good-sized medical kit, you go to the Wanmin restaurant and merely order from the outside. A good heaping of raw ingredients is added to your bag along with a cooking pot.
Second Life, the store nearby is perfect for some of the missing items like milk. The bag is timeless, so nothing ever rots or spoils. If you had something like this on Earth, you wouldn't have spent years going hungry.
You end up near Xigu Antiques and take out Beisht's scale from your bag. If you ever got low on money, then selling Beisht's scale could work. But using it as a bargaining chip or as a verification of being an oracle would be ideal.
"This scale is unlike I've ever seen. It's not only in perfect condition but it's overflowing with hydro energy. Inventors would pay around 5 million mora to power inventions using it. While jewelers like us would pay up to 2 million mora for it. Are you interested in selling it?"
You give a polite refusal before being extra careful in storing the scale. The last thing you want is its price tag going down. Only one thing left on the checklist of items you wanted to buy.
As you ran around looking for that particular shop, you slowed down near the toy seller. Granny Shan smiled at you with wrinkles crinkling as you admired the kites and toys on the bench.
"Hello young one, interested in any of the toys? The ready-made toys are all child sized but I'm open to commissions for specific toys as well."
There wasn't any point in buying anything. The money could be better spent on living expenses rather than kites or fireworks. With a well-mannered smile you're about to decline until you spot a toy design on a piece of paper.
The air in your lungs struggle to leave you as your hands gently pick up the paper to see it closer. A grey cat plushie design with black and white patches graces your eyes. Your lips are dry, and your throat feels tight.
"This design... Can I get the first finished product?"
"I would be happy to. This kind of toy must bring back some childhood memories, right?"
Granny Shan is oblivious to your inner turmoil as she writes down your name and takes the appropriate mora from you. "It'll be done in around two days. Feel free to pick up that day or the day after."
Thankfully it wasn't that expensive, and you leave the stall trying to regain your bearings. The reminder of your beloved Ashtray was sudden but bittersweet. You had a similar plushie in Earth that comforted you, maybe having one here would help you too.
After walking in a daze, you find yourself in front of a shop that was hidden away. It wasn't in the game but maybe that's because it would have been useless to note. Entering the shop, the sight of wind gliders sends you some excitement and nervousness.
Wind gliders of different designs and colors are hung around the shop as protective gear is stationed around on tables. The metallic of the middle structure of it are cold to the touch. A contradictory to the soft cotton hiding the bendable mechanics of the wings.
You're quickly attended to by an employee as they explain the functions and unique color schemes behind each glider. Some designs have monochrome colors to let the buyer color it themselves while others are bejeweled to hell and back.
The one you end up buying is a mild colored glider that suited your color scheme with gold and black mechanical parts. Hopefully you won't regret skipping on the protective gear, Teyvat would protect you from hurting yourself... right?
Who are you kidding? You didn't have a clue on how to use it. Gliding in the game and gliding in real life were two different things. Although they explained the basic of attaching it to the back of your clothes and how it'll automatically deploy at certain velocity. That didn't fix the fact that you don't have a license to use it or any actual knowledge.
There's a bookstore in Liyue right? You already needed to buy some books on camping and the in-depth flora so you can pick up a more detailed gliding instruction manual too.
Feeling a bit lost you climb the red staircases vaguely remembering that the bookstore should be above ground floor. What you end up coming across first is the Heyu Tea House where Yun Jin usually performs.
It's a lot bigger than it was shown in game. This one actually looks like it can hold her performance. A border is set around the stage as a paper is stuck to it. Getting closer you run your fingers over the words.
'Yun Jin performing in less than two hours! The final act to the opera: The Lonely Chameleon!'
Great, now you know exactly where not to be in two hours. You would undoubtably miss whatever story she would be telling as it's the last act. Why be there and potentially draw attention and embarrassment to yourself?
Continuing your journey, you end up being forced to walk past the Northland Back. Vlad, the daytime guard that you were cheering on to end up with Nadia, the night guard was a lot more intimidating in person.
You walk past quickly as the memories of meeting Childe, learning the truth of Zhongli and stealing the chest inside the bank enter your mind. It was years ago that you did that quest, but it felt nostalgic with you walking past it like this.
Confusion is clear on your face as you look across the staircase and see the bookstore much farther than you thought. Slapping your hand lightly on your face you audibly groan at the realization.
You climbed the wrong staircase.
After backtracking, getting a little more lost and finally climbing what you think is the right staircase you are greeted by the bookshelves. A sigh of relief leaves you as your fingers trail against the spines of the books to read the titles.
Most of these you already have in the game screen and can access anytime. An in-depth gliding book, natural Liyue flora book, and a camping book are all paid for with your mora pouch that is much lighter than when you first arrived at Liyue.
Unfortunately, you had to give up on finding a book on tracking and hunting. Seems someone had already bought the last copy.
Slowly you walk back to the area where the bridge connected to the Harbor. The sun was close to setting with the orange hue embracing the sky. Most people are already home with only a few children and the usual dogs hanging out on the bridge. Passing by the alchemy table and pond your tired thoughts begin to wander.
To think alchemy was a real thing in this world. In some ways Teyvat surpassed Earth's technology using it while they were also limited due to it. You could probably make a lot of money by inventing the most useful tools you saw on Earth. Like the creation of a bicycle or at least a tricycle was revolutionary during this era.
"I'm happy to walk ya back Yun Jin but I really can't stay."
"I understand Xinyan so thank you for escorting me back to the Heyu Tea House."
You freeze at the foot of the bridge as the faint figures of Xinyan and Yun Jin walk from the other side of the bridge. Yun Jin must have gone to watch Xinyan's performance but wasn't hers supposed to start in less than an hour?
A loud bang catches your attention as the sound of electro crystalizing is heard from the city on your left. Two geovishap hatchlings speed out of somewhere from the city as Keqing chases them. The hatchlings circle around Keqing as she continuesly dodges their attacks.
"Everyone be careful! Please keep a clear distance from this area for your own safety!"
Watching in surprise you stand at the foot of the bridge as the kids and dogs get closer to you. Seems Beidou wasn't kidding when she said that the monsters and Ley lines were acting strange. The game has had monsters get close to the cities but never inside it.
As Keqing continues to block and attack the hatchlings, Xinyan and Yun Jin get to the halfway point of the bridge. Heavy footsteps of multiple guards can be heard from the direction Keqing came from.
The geovishap hatchlings startle at the vibrations and curl back into balls moving in a fast pace toward the bridge. The same bridge that you were in front of!
Urgently you're about to move out the way when the children hold onto your clothes in fear. Combine that with the two dogs blocking your feet, moving out of the way was impossible.
Did you have enough time to get your sickle out of your bag? Was there anything else you can use?! The hatchlings speed up as Keqing notices your predicament and rushes over. You can already tell that even if she used her skill, she wouldn't make it in time.
Trembling the kids close their eyes and bury their heads into your clothing. The dogs bark and growl at the approaching hatchlings. Gritting your teeth, you close your eyes and hold your arms out in some form of defense.
The rough rocks of the hatchling scrape your hand and you swing your arm to the side from the pain. The hatchling makes a pitiful whimper as it's pushed back by the sickle appearing in your hands.
In surprise you examine the sickle in your hands. Did you really get the ability to sheathe and unsheathe your weapon without manually holding it? It's quite late seeing as you could have used this during Beisht's battle but better late than never.
Did the creatures really not recognize you as the creator?
Your blood from the scrape drips down your hand and hits the ground. You could tell that something changed within the geovishap hatchlings... The one that scratched your hand started to spin around in circles for seemingly no reason.
The second hatchling lunged at the first one with teeth and claws barred out. It pins the first one to the ground and brutally stabs it as it bites chunks of rock out of its skin.
Everyone around stops at the scene and watches it in horrific disbelief. The blood splatters all over the floor and the smell of copper invades your nose. The bloody barely moving corpse of the hatchling starts to weakly crawl to you.
The kids shriek and the dogs whine as the chipped bloody geo claw reaches toward you. Unlike how threatening it felt earlier, the sight of it trying so desperately to reach you had grief swelling up inside.
The second hatchling with bloody rocks and crimson flowing out of its jaw follows it as it's club like tail raises. The tail is slammed down onto the it's victim with no remorse repeatedly. As the rocky exterior is beaten away blood flies off the body.
Your body takes the brunt of the splashing blood as you cannot stop staring at the corpse. By the time the tail is lifted off the body, all that's left is a bloody pulp of rock, scales and flesh.
Everything is silent for a moment as the sole Geo hatchling looks up at you. It seems happy? Maybe even proud of what it did. It rips off the gold horn from the corpse and places it at your feet.
You stare down at the item as you shakily pick it up. It's still warm. Whether from the blood or the newly deceased creature, you aren't sure.
The background seems to blur as you stare at it. The children running to their parents, Keqing yelling out orders, Yun Jin and Xinyan trying to get past without attracting the attention of the hatchling. All of it fades away.
What caused this situation to happen? They didn't recognize you until your blood dribbled out. Teyvat was calling strong creatures to protect you so maybe the weaker ones hadn't got the message yet? Should you be mad at the hatchling that stands at your feet looking at you with adoration?
If a person did this, you would be appalled. But nature was never kind and Teyvat had its own laws. Even if you did kill the geo hatchling for murdering its brethren, it wouldn't stop anything. They aren't like humans who can understand your words and worries. Besides the hatchling didn't do it in your name like the acolytes' sacrificial events, it did it to protect you...
You snap back into attention as Keqing teleports using her skill above the hatchling. It curls up and rolls around you to escape using the bridge. The faint trail of blood in its wake is only mildly off-putting compared to earlier.
In its hurry it slams into Yun Jin's chest. Her clothing is smeared with blood, and it rips from the rocky scales. She stumbles back with a pained cry as Xinyan growls and summons her weapon.
"Get away from her!" Xinyan barely misses the hatchling as it digs under the ground and reappears behind them. Xinyan is about to give chase, but you grab her arm in a haste.
"Just leave it be, there's more important things to worry about! Yun Jin's show is starting in less than an hour."
Yun Jin stands up from the ground and the damage had already been done. Her hair was a mess, her makeup was smudged, and her clothes were torn with a blood smear.
"Oh no, oh dear. I was supposed to perform in these clothes, I had no costume prepared. If I go back now, they'll be so caught up in fixing me that the show will be ruined."
Yun Jin's despair quickly captures Xinyan's attention, and you glance at the geovishap hatchling that flees the area. Some of the Millelith guards are about to give chase but Keqing stops them.
"I think we still have a chance to fix things." Your voice has a glimmer of hope as you take in Yun Jin's appearance. "I don't know how to do your hair, but I have experience in makeup and clothing. If we all work together, we could get it fixed up in time."
"Is that really a possibility?"
"Don't give up hope Yun Jin! Y/N is right, if we go somewhere and fix it up, you might make it! You know I can help with all that stuff too."
Yun Jin smiles feeling a bit better with Xinyan and your reassurance. Before you can start looking around for somewhere to work on it Keqing walks up to your group.
"Hello, I wanted to come over to amend the situation that I could have prevented if not for my own lack of skills. Situations like these may not be under the Yuheng's responsibility but as a member of the Liyue Qixing who was here, I should have been able to stop the geovishap hatchlings.
As much as I would like to properly introduce myself, it's best that I cut to the chase. Yun Jin, you are performing soon, and your friends want to help you fix it correct? I'll pay a room for you in the Yanshang Teahouse and have someone bring over any material you might need."
This was a real lucky break, but Keqing keeps glancing at you, as if she knows or wants something. Everyone saw how the hatchling presented the horn to you, hopefully she's not suspecting you to be behind the Geo hatchlings attack.
Xinyan and Yun Jin are quick to agree as you all hurry to the teahouse. The hostess that you remember being really bitchy before Yelan took over was pleasant at the sight of the very popular vision holders. You ignore the side-eye she gives you as you all pile into a room.
Xinyan is creating a list of necassary materials to remedy Yun Jin's situation with Keqing as you clear the table of all the decorations. The whole next 10 minutes is a blur. The only thing you focus on is cleaning the blood from her outfit and repairing the holes as Yun Jin sits in front of a mirror in some spare clothes. Xinyan is focused on redoing the hairstyle.
Keqing only stopped to drop off the supplies before leaving for work. She didn't ask you anything but the way she stared at you whenever she thought you weren't looking says otherwise. Knowing your luck, Ningguang will have heard of this too. And being in the teahouse that Yelan owns? Yeah, you're screwed.
Deciding to push it to the back of your mind, you focus on the dress in your hands that's almost done being repaired. You were no professional sewer, you just had so much practice in sewing your clothes that this came easily to you. Same with your make-up skills, your job on Earth required you to constantly change faces. So, your make-up skills were more in the contouring section. Always used to obscure your features rather than enhance them.
The dress looks brand-new as you examine it closely for any signs of imperfection. Satisfied at your job you stand up and go over to the duo. They've been chatting about how the Heyu Tea House owner would react to Yun Jin arriving so close to the beginning of the opera.
"Sorry to interrupt but I finished fixing your dress. Do you want me to help you with your make-up or are you all good?"
Yun Jin jumps at your appearance and nearly drops the brush she was using.
"Thank you so much!... Y/N? I'm so sorry I never even got to properly introduce myself to you and you were still kind enough to help me. Is there any way I can repay you for all you've done for me?"
You smile gently at the formal woman as she stresses out over her lack of manners. What a perfect opportunity served on a silver platter.
"Please don't worry about that. You're a friend of Xinyan's right? I came on the Alcor with Xinyan, and I was more than happy to help. The situation earlier left everyone quite frazzled. I really don't need anything as repayment. I just hope you can make it to your show in time."
Yun Jin only looks more regretful at your generous wish. Xinyan finishes her hair and scoots back as she grabs the hat. She takes the sewing needle you were using earlier and begins to repair the hanging tassels.
"Don't feel bad Yun Jin, Y/N is a good person! I never got to tell you in detail how the trip with the Crux went this time but after your show I can tell you all about it. Ya know that oracle I mentioned before? Y/N is that oracle!"
Careful not to mess up her hair, you begin applying the red eyeshadow as Yun Jin puts on the light red tinted lipstick. "Is that really true? I'm not doubting you, it's just incredible to hear."
"Yes, to put it simply I tend to resemble the creator due to the powers I'm granted. One of the major ones is how I can connect with the creatures of this world." Your downcast eyes make Yun Jin send you a worried look.
"Is something wrong Y/N?"
"It's just that I think the geovishap hatchling may have sensed the creator's presence on me and instead of attacking me like they do to the awakened acolytes, it reacted weirdly. I think the Yuheng may be under the belief that I did something to make them react like that."
You finish applying it and lean away from Yun Jin. The girls share a look with each other and begin reassuring you that there's no way you would get in trouble. It's when you hear a particular sentence from Yun Jin that your pursed lips curl into a grateful smile.
"I have a performance that requires me to speak with Keqing tomorrow, I can explain your oracle status and clear up any misunderstandings that may have arisen."
"I would be so thankful for that Yun Jin! You would really be my hero."
Calling her a hero makes her pale cheeks heat up a little as she stands up.
"Think nothing of it Y/N. Now I believe everything is repaired and ready. I'll change and meet you outside as soon as I possibly can."
Smiling happily, you wave with Xinyan and leave to the entrance of the Teahouse. Xinyan pats you on the back with an ecstatic smile.
"We might be able to arrive on time, we really couldn't have done it without you Y/N. If you have time, would ya like to watch her show with me? The final act usually has a quick recap and the story in this one is pretty simple."
Xinyan looks at you with expectant eyes as you remember her telling Yun Jin that she wouldn't be able to attend. What made her change her mind?
"That sounds like fun! I've never seen an opera before, would I need to buy tickets?"
"Don't worry about that! Yun Jin always has private tickets for anyone she wants to personally invite. I don't usually go since I've never been too fond of opera, but I want to support Yun Jin. It would be a lot more fun with you."
Yun Jin comes out at that exact moment looking nearly identical to her pre-attacked appearance. Xinyan keeps her fingers to her lips signaling to keep your agreement a secret. You nod back to her; it was nice seeing them get along so well.
Getting there at the last second, the troupe calls her over in a hurry. Yun Jin can only briefly wave goodbye before disappearing behind the topaz curtain.
The Heyu Tea House was packed to say the least. Fighting through the people, you and Xinyan managed to find a seat close enough that Yun Jin would notice you both immediately.
Eyes stare at your table or rather at Xinyan. You had only gotten this seat because they moved away in fear without either of you doing anything. Not that you were complaining, if they wanted to be chicken then that's on them.
If only they stopped glaring at Xinyan for simply existing. Now doesn't that bring up memories of your own childhood. No one really liked being saddled with the orphan kid.
Xinyan doesn't even react and only smiles when the curtain pulls away to reveal a few backup dancers and Yun Jin posing. Her voice rings out in Chinese as they start dancing and performing in harmony.
You don't miss how her eyes light up at the sight of you and Xinyan watching from the table. A separate narrator begins to recap the previous acts.
"A chameleon with no one and nothing left. What a pitiful existence. Yet it strives for some meaning or person to live for, it works tirelessly each day. Changing its colors, it's position and its soul for that singular purpose. Taken advantage by each animal requesting a color. At long last it's used every color and been rejected by each one. So now it's left to wonder; what color was its true color?"
Each animal that had taken advantage of the chameleon appears in costume around Yun Jin. The lanterns dim as the moon starts to rise setting a perfect backdrop.
The singing slows down as Yun Jin speaks mournfully.
"Not a single color keeps them with me. No matter how hard I try to blend in, to be accepted it is but a lost cause. Should I find my original color and live all alone? Or should I give one last ditch effort?"
Colored lights and decorations spin around Yun Jin at her last line. When it's pulled away her hat had changed to a multicolored fan of hairpins. A long robe covered her dress with flags in each color stood proud fanning out from behind her.
Her singing is high-pitched and melancholic. All the other animal performers crowd around her as she sings. After each verse she belts out and poses, they briefly stop and bow to her.
You couldn't understand what was being said but judging by their actions, it seemed the animals finally accepted the chameleon due to the rainbow of colors.
A last long note as the animals pose in various positions around her until only the moon shines down on Yun Jin. She looks up at the moon as she starts her speech with an empty voice that rises with emotion.
"I am loved, adored, and nearly worshipped so why am I as lonely as before? If the only difference between the me before and the me now is the color, I display then is my color the only reason they love me? Is this the life I want? Is this the love I desire!?"
The drums beat and the music rings louder. The animal performers move away in a fast pace as Yun Jin tears off each flag. The animals scramble to pick each colored flag and hold it out to Yun Jin but she ignores them. Instead, she grabs the hairpin on her head and tears it off.
The animals run around her in a dance as longer flags that cover the sight of her fly around. When she's revealed she's back in her normal clothes and a single dagger lies in her grasp.
"If that is the only way I will ever be loved then this life of mine is as useless as my colors."
With a single motion the dagger is 'stabbed' into her heart, and she falls backwards with the animal performers catching her. They gently set her 'dead' body on the ground and mourn her. The curtains close and the audience erupts into cheers.
You clap and smile as the curtains open and the performers bow with Yun Jin in the front. For reasons unknown to you, the play had shaken your heart like an earthquake to a fragile little house.
Xinyan excitedly congratulates Yun Jin as you compliment her as well. Cotten in your ears make what they're saying muffled. Smiling you say your goodbyes and leave them. The ghost of Xinyan's hand reaching for your shoulder is ignored.
Instead you focus on what matters, your identity and living situation. Yun Jin already agreed to clear up the situation with Keqing, the horn given to you was safely in your bag, your job with the Guild was confirmed, and you avoided any high-profile acolytes that you're wary of.
Hopefully Yelan will never investigate you seeing as you stayed at the Yansheng Teahouse.
Out of curiosity you check the price of a week at a small motel. You promptly leave after they tell you it would cost 210,000 mora for a single week. If you paid that, you'd be fresh out of money by the end of the month. Things were expensive since it's Liyue but that was just too much.
You make your way to the bridge where the whole geovishap hatchling murder happened. Sleeping in the tent you bought is the much smarter and better financial decision... Even if it was the more dangerous one.
Not a single soul is around as you cross the bridge. The grass crunches under your shoes as the uneven stone makes your footsteps ring out in the night air. It turns into a dirt path and the city lights fade from how far you've gone.
Lighting the candle in your lantern you hold it out in front of you as you continue walking. The path splits and you stay on the right side due to the faint lanterns that are hung around that direction.
Cobblestone patio on the left and two huge identical stone statues on the right can be seen as you stand in the middle. The spot of dirt you choose to camp out on the patio gives you a perfect view of the statues. The mist flower and what you think is an adepti machine goes ignored.
It's been a quite a few years since you've ever had to put up a tent. But the survival skills come back to you quickly. With the tent set up and a small campfire going, you set a pot over it.
Swiftly you open the game screen and find the needed recipes for any simple food to make. The matsutake potatoes and meat are put into the pot and you turn your head to grab a plate. You aren't surprised to see it already done when you turn back.
You gobble down most of the matsutake meat rolls and stop when the bushes on your left begin to shake. Freezing mid-bite, you stare at the bush intently. When something begins to tumble out of it you jump to your feet and summon your sickle.
An unfortunately familiar bronze creature unravels itself from its ball and stares at you innocently. That damn geovishap hatchling has appeared again.
Sighing you flop back onto the ground with no fear. It may not have crimson liquid staining its body, but the smell of copper was still strong. There was no way it's not the hatchling you met in the city.
It creeps closer to you with every passing second. You can see the marks from Keqing's sword and electro cover its bedrock body. Taking pity on the poor hatchling, it's still a baby after all, you pat the spot beside you.
With a happy growl it sits next to you, and you give it the last of the meat rolls. Happy noises escape it as it carefully takes the food from your hands and eats it. That seems to have completely softened the reptile as it snuggles into your side.
Despite what it did earlier, your heart melts like wax under the sun, and you pet its head. You scold it in a faint voice.
"You shouldn't go into the city, it's dangerous. Now that your friend is gone, it'll be easier for you to get hurt. Stay close with your family so that you don't get hurt."
It's eyes close and it whimpers. It may not understand your words, but the main message seemed to have resonated with it. Your hand brushes against one of its injuries and it flinches.
Should you use some of the ointment from your medical kit to help it? With purpose you drag your finger lightly over its cuts and scraped areas. The wounds begin to glow gold and you close your eyes from the brightness.
Once it dims you open them to see the injuries healed.
Being the creator is one thing, but being the equivalent of a Statue of the Seven to the creatures is another. You're basically capable of healing everything but yourself!
The brief annoyance fades into fondness as the hatchlings springs up and rolls around in happiness. A sudden wave of exhaustion hits you making you groan and struggle to stand up.
You put out the fire and crawl into the tent, the bed is welcomed after such an exhausting day. The rough ground beneath the thin bedding and cold air nipping your skin brings back memories of the years you spent sleeping in alleyways and parks.
Maybe comparing yourself to a Statue of a Seven was more accurate than you thought. As the creator you shouldn't be this exhausted after healing minor wounds. So, it would make sense that you would need to practice or gain more power through touching the Statues of the Seven in order to heal more without getting exhausted.
Your train of thoughts slow down as sleep overtakes you. The faint thudding of the hatchling outside makes you feel somewhat safe. Is this life something you'll truly get used to? Or will you end up giving up like the chameleon?
And it's done! Now that Y/N has some freedom, I can start implemeting certain game ascepts. And if I don't enter specific ones then I probably forgot so feel free to comment any that you would want to see! This chapter was supposed to be just a nice day of touring Liyue and the geovishap hatchling was supposed to be annoying/cute and progress the plot. But damn did it get darker. I do want to say that Kazuha's last line wasn't him removing himself from his obsession. Kazuha is a very self-reflective character and all that he's gone through has added to that. I originally was going to have the opera nameless and just a quick description less show, but I had fun writing one that would fit with the plot. Welp time to finish 100% the Summer event! ANEMO VISION
Relief
They were looking right at you, thoughtful, imaginative, quiet…
There is an incessant gale kissing your face and your hair, beating the windmills and sails, bringing the music of the harps, the howling of the trees
Where does it come from? from the hurricane...
From the hurricane coming from their minds.
As calm as they are, their love is like the wind, strong and sweeping, that takes them in only one direction that they now finally know: You

PYRO VISION
Confusion
It is apparent their embarrassment when reflecting on the feeling.
Love for them is like a bonfire with strong and fast flames that spread in an averted eye.
They try little by little to erase it but more and more you throw more firewood without even noticing!
It was so stressful! So...''Take the consequences of this fire and… love me too, please.''

Yo, mid, i know its very late for me and i just am trying to sleep while its fucking COLD, i had a thought jolt me awake from my dozing.
How hot do pyro's run? I do know that some people CANON it to be true that pyro users have high body heat, but is it like africa versus the northpole or something like that?
Cuz i currently desire a personal heater snugglebug.
Goodnight.

mmm it honestly depends on your opinion, but i personally am pretty guilty of imagining myself a diluc to hold onto when i’m cold, so i’d say there’s at least a bit of a difference.
i heard from the first golden apple archipelago event that diluc apparently melted kaeya’s icebridge (citation needed), so that pretty much confirms that a significant level of difference is present between pyro users and the general public. however, it was still summer and assuming diluc was still wearing his giant coat, they must be at least vaguely immune to overheating/possess some sort of control over it. all this to say that at the bare minimum, diluc wouldn’t mind holding you close during a chilly winter. the winery is prone to chilly hallways, just due to its size, and he stays up late anyway. please, don’t be afraid to go knocking on his door: chances are he’s awake and more than willing to let you in. despite being a pyro wielder, his blankets are large and thick, carrying enough heat to keep you warm while he wraps up his paperwork. you don’t have to stay awake with him if you don’t wish; the sight of you tucked away within his bed is one he wishes to memorize.
i imagine bennett’s high heat has definitely saved him from getting sick when his adventure is ruined by rain (again), keeping him from ever being at risk despite the fact that his clothes are soaked and the path he’s trudging through is muddy. he’s well used to it, but it doesn’t stop his dads from chastising him whenever he returns, directing him towards his room and one of the many, many spare sets of clothing he had. he dries off quickly after showers, his clothes never sticking, and sometimes when his adventure ended well he’ll be glowing, embers in his eyes as he excitedly tells you about it, uncaring of the way some of the dry grass caught in his hair begins to spark. for your sake and his, bring him inside and let him talk to you after you remove the tinder.
klee, younger, likely has a lesser degree of control over her vision. she’s probably prone to hiking up a few degrees when she’s excited, and is often found in albedo’s camp at dragonspine simply due to the fact that she both can easily re-light his fire when the winds blow too hard and he knows she won’t get sick. he sits on his stool, watching his experiment and listening intently to her talk about gunpowder. when snow washes in and puts out the measly store of wood collected in the middle of his lab, it barely registers before she’s collected pyro in her palms and shot it neatly to the center of the pile. any moisture vaporizes, the flames licking higher than they normally would.
amber has a better control over her vision than most would expect from somebody so young. her vision hangs off her belt and only barely glows a bit brighter when speaking about the knights, her gloves waving animatedly as she tells some tale of the cavalry captain’s newest scheme. he comes up, hearing all gossip in the city and doubly so that which pertains to him, but even the hiss of cryo doesn’t dampen her emotions. she ignores the hand he puts on her shoulder and simply puts hers on her hips, pretending he isn’t there and continuing about how it’s so irresponsible of him to continue such behavior. he laughs, telling her it’s rude to be so cold, but the way the inside of her gloves grow warm says otherwise. it’s invisible to most, dampened by leather and the many guards of an archer’s arms, but anybody that looks can tell you for certain that the brightest fires in the city are lit by an outrider’s glow, provided only that you ask about her recent expedition.
xinyan is well aware of her loud nature, and learned the hard way not to let it get out of control. pyrotechnics are a large part of her shows, but it took her a while to get there. she loves rock and roll, and performing gives her so much energy- she played barely a day after she received her vision, when her control was weak and her body was still adapting to the change, and the guitar she played then on no longer works now. five dots singe the area around the strings, a large patch where her palm rested sunken into the wood. if you ask about it, she’ll wave you off shyly, unwilling to tell you about how she had to wear heat sinks in a pair of special gloves for a few months. still, just to be certain, she bought a bottle of heat-resistant sealant to brush over her current guitar for her tours. she loves music, loves her shows and doing what she does, and she’s much better at controlling her vision now, but… it’s better safe than sorry, right?
xiangling, similar to bennett, has been saved many times by her heightened body temperature. turns out, it gets incredibly dangerous climbing the spires of liyue since the wind can turn your fingers cold and creaky, making it deadly to try and climb, but she’s never run into that problem. she moves with ease, unfettered by the chill, her sheer enthusiasm seeping into the stone beneath her. when she travelled to mondstat, she passed by a camp near the base of dragonspine and overheard a peculiar recipe, one that required a special kind of ‘chilled meat’. the chef seemed nervous to give her the location, due simply to her clothing, but she set off anyway. needless to say, dragonspine is colder than liyue, and the traveller found her and guoba hunched by a campfire, clearly shivering. they led her off a mountain and with the promise to never return without a proper team (or warmer clothes), they handed her some chilled meat from their inventory. after a bit of further pressing, they taught her how to make goulash. she took excellent notes.
as a lawyer, the last thing yanfei needs is to be hot-headed. the law is slippery, always twisting from her hands, and the ability to grit one’s teeth and stand again after it swipes beneath their feet is one needed in the world of legal advice. ningguang can’t count the amount of times she’s received a letter from her detailing the most recent loophole she’s found, the paper stained with ash around the edges. at first she thought it unprofessional, but after being stopped on the street and quite frankly chastised due to the slow response time when such a matter as the law was concerned…. she understood a little more. her next letter was responded to promptly, and yanfei’s gratitude showed in court, citing one of the tianquan’s letters as proof that a law was changed prior to a merchant’s new policy, not after. as a half-adepti, more power runs through her than most, and she often grows too warm to think in her office. she has measures to counteract this, such as traveling to deal with cases, allowing the wind to wick away her frustration, or simply wearing cooler clothes during the summer. madam ping was the one to suggest the latter, and she lives every day grateful. still, as they share a cup of tea as yanfei rants about a civil case she’s been assigned, yanfei’s mug stays warmer than ping’s for nearly the entire time. thankfully, she prefers her drinks hot anyway, and green tea has always helped take the edge off her irritation.
hu tao is many things, but emotional is not one of them. being a funeral director requires a certain level of coldness to it, as to not let the many deaths a day affect you, and she handles her role quite well. she carries enough respect that her voice is somber when speaking to the families of the deceased, yet doesn’t allow the constant gloom to affect her. perhaps it’s her sense of humor, allowing her to brush it off a bit easier, or perhaps it’s the fact that it’s hard to feel sad when xingqiu is describing his latest escapade with chongyun. the latter is at wanmin, waiting for his popsicles, and hu tao listens with bubbly glee to their most recent tale. it’s funny, how oblivious chongyun can be, and as they sit and swing their legs across the street, the stone beneath her feels less and less warm. they share, they banter, they talk about poetry and all things literary. when their hands knock together xingqiu winces slightly at the heat of her rings, but cools his hand easily enough with a bit of hydro. when chongyun returns, xingqiu takes the small treat he offers her, unwilling to risk him getting singed. chongyun recites what xiangling told him to about her newest creation, and hu tao stifles a grin. the edges of the small napkin begin to darken, but she hardly notices. focused on the slight glaze in xingqiu’s eyes, the funeral director laughs.
working with fireworks with a pyro vision is a risky adventure. yoimiya, who was incredibly cautious about such things and only ever used her vision to light fireworks at first, rarely ever runs into this risk, but it’s on her mind. as the queen of the summer festival—a title that never fails to bring heat to her cheeks, should you mention it—its her responsibility to keep up and maintain the same level of quality year after year, and she is intent on delivering. still, she’s not immune to problems associated with a vision like hers. the small building of naganohara fireworks is one with a rich history, gunpowder and dye embedded between the floorboards, but it doesn’t have the best ventilation. it’s by design, as a stray breeze can ruin a fragile firework, but sometimes she wishes she could have a fan. she loves creating them, enthusiasm sparking whenever she gushes to her father about her latest idea, but when the summer gets hot and the room gets hotter, even one sleeve of a kimono feels like too many. don’t get her wrong, the process of barely singeing a dye so it crackles instead of pops is one far easier with a vision, but when the time finally comes to sit back and let sparks fly, she doesn’t hang around to watch the fuses get lit. instead, she moves somewhere cooler, letting the night breeze cool off her excitement, sitting cross-legged on chilly grass. when the fireworks start and the sky lights up, youmiya glows along with them.
a housekeeper does a lot of things, but starting fires is not typically one of them. both ayato and ayaka prefer cooler weather, the former having the ability to mostly self-regulate, and thoma’s vision mostly went unused. other than occasionally lighting the fire at shimura’s or one of the other food stalls he stopped at, thoma’s days were quiet, free of battle. he was simply a housekeeper, and though he occasionally misjudged the weather and gave ayaka a false impression, they both quickly learned to seek a second opinion. the same was with you. quiet days, mornings spent in a soft sort of haze as he woke up before the sun even on his days off. he didn’t mind, turning to brush away some hairs from your face, but you leaned into his palm, shifting closer. he smiled, one that dissipated when he noticed the goosebumps down your arm, leading beneath the thin sheets. he was confused for a moment, as the room felt fine to him, but he quickly remembered that it wouldn’t be the same to you. with a murmured apology and an arm around your waist, thoma made a mental note to bring thicker blankets for you from the closet. winter was coming and evidently early, and the last thing he wanted was for you to be cold. still, that was a problem for later, for when your skin didn’t warm under his and when the sun was further overhead.

Xinyan: The woman I’m planning to marry showed me this pebble that looks like a guitar pick and with an entirely straight face said:
Yun Jin: It’s for rock music.
Xiangling: Marry her faster.

They found your favourite book series in the store, would they buy it? Pt.2 (pt.1 here)
ft ; Liyue characters (not including Qiqi & Yaoyao)
Tumblr media
Immediately buys it
CHILDE,Ningguang,XINGQIU,Yelan,Yanfei,Hu Tao,Beidou
They wanted their s/o to be happy,so they immediately buys it — no hesitation whatsoever !
Also just imagine how Childe would react when he founds out you like a certain book series....i bet he just buy the entire stock for you <3
Xingqiu probably buys it because he is also interested in the same book series as yours,i just know it.
Ningguang,Yanfei and Yelan got curious on why you're so obsessed with the book series so they buy it — to read it together with you!
Hu Tao and Beidou already knew you're interested in the book series so she immediately buys it if the book is on stock.
Asks if you really want it
XIAO,Ganyu,BAIZHU,Xinyan,Yunjin
How could they ask such question??!?! of course you really wants it! it's a need at this point. >:(
Though,I feel like they asked you that just to make sure they didn't buy the book you already own..(Ganyu and Yunjin)
On the other hand,I feel like Xiao didn't really want to waste his mora on a book so he asks you that.
Baizhu and Xinyan probably only asks that so they could walk to the bookstore with you,who knows?maybe you might find more books you want(they only wanted to spend time with you)
They didn't buy it
SHENHE,Chongyun,Keqing,Xiangling
Shenhe and Keqing didn't buy it because they didn't know you like the book series, they immediately feels bad about it but hopes you understand why she didn't buy it.
Chongyun and Xiangling doesn't know what book series you don't have yet so they got confused on if they should buy it or not...they didn't buy it because choosing the books were stressing them out.
Asks for mora
ZHONGLI
Zhongli won't ask you for mora,he instead will ask any of his friends for mora so that he could buy it.
Unfortunately for Childe and Hu Tao,they were his main target.
Out of pity, you paid them back as an apology</3
Inazuma is next!!

A Couple’s Daily Life
[Hey, it’s Smut]
It was another bustling day in Liyue. The harbor was wide awake, the sun was out, and Xiangling had just finished making a hardy stew with an alluring aroma that had gently fading into faint deliciousness on the wind as it lost heat. This would typically be a problem for both a customer and a chef, however…
“Xiangling!” Called Chongyun as he approached Wamnin Restaurant at the usual time. “May I have-”
“Yep! Already cooled too.” She placed his order in front of him, enjoying the sight of his shocked expression. “Hehe, Chongyun, you order this once a week.”
“I could’ve felt daring today and wanted something else.”
“You could’ve, but you weren’t.” She smiled. Xiangling watched him try to eat his embarrassment away. “How’s training?”
“Auntie had to go meet her master so I’ve been doing meditation for the past few days. If I’m being honest though, I think Shenhe noticed how sore I was getting.” He chuckled, “This might be her way of giving me a break. Anyways, how’s work?”
“Pretty slow.” Xiangling placed her chin in her hand as she leaned on the counter and watched the flow of people with decorations and construction equipment. “Lantern Rite preparation has a funny way of making everyone forget to eat. Eventually, stomachs will growl and I’d bet mora that Keqing will eventually see me with a late night order.”
“Then you’ll be busy when Lantern Rite starts and people won’t leave.”
“And I can’t wait!” Xiangling gave a big grin and sprung up. “I have everything stocked and all knives sharpened! I may try new dishes too!”
Xiangling had cooked during many festivals. She understood her long term customers and was brilliant at reading new ones to give them an amazing experience. Chongyun knew this well about her, even so…
“You’ve had these new dishes approved, right?” He said with a deep and warranted concern. “How many people have tasted them?”
Xiangling couldn’t help but giggle, knowing her reputation. “Relax, it’s nothing unusual. Though there’s a couple I still need tested. They’re pretty hot unfortunately, so finding someone has been tough. I wanted to ask Xinyan but I’d feel awful if I somehow ruined her voice when she’s putting so much effort into practicing.”
“Yeah, she’s been doing a lot lately…” he sighed.
It didn’t go unnoticed, neither did his worried gaze. “Chongyun?”
“Uh ooohhh~” a familiar voice lulled across the street.
Chongyun put his head down automatically while Xiangling tried not to snicker as she waved hello to Xingqui. He sat his happy self right next to Chongyun as he closed his book and grabbed a fresh cup of tea placed before him.
He took a sip. “Oh? How’d you know I wanted Jasmine today?”
“The tea you had yesterday tasted the complete opposite. You always avoid having things that feel the same two days in a row.”
“Repetition can be mundane, and you never cease to surprise me Xiangling. Glad to see one of my two favorite people here is sharper than ever! As for the dull blade…” he turned to Chongyun with a teasingly cheeky grin and put his hand on his friend’s shoulder, who groaned on contact. “What troubles you? I sensed that distress from across the street.
“I think that’s called eavesdropping.”
“Talk quieter.” Xingqui jokes, knowing full well he was eavesdropping the moment he saw them. How could he not!? “So, is there trouble in paradise with Liyue’s rock n roll icon?”
“So you were eavesdropping!?” Chongyun said, oddly energized. Both his friends smiled. Getting out of this was impossible and he knew that. Might as well start talking. “No, it’s nothing like that. With this time off I’ve had I tried seeing Xinyan to spend time together or help with anything. She’s incredibly busy.”
“Awww. Don’t take it to heart.” Xiangling said with care. “I’m sure Xinyan will find time to spend with you later.”
“I can handle busy schedules. There’s plenty of times I have my hands full. My concern is how stressful all this can be.”
That was something Xiangling didn’t think much about. Xinyan has done performances, even at Lantern Rite, but none this huge. “Oh. Does she look okay? Now that you mention it, I’ve only seen her going from place to place.”
Xingqui nodded. “Indeed. It’s normal seeing Xinyan running around with her guitar in hand but always with a smile. Yesterday was less smiles and more frantic. I assumed she overslept.”
“I did catch her taking a nap in between rehearsals.” Chongyun added. “During practices and working with others she’s still positive and I can tell she’s genuinely excited, but I do catch glimpses of frustration with her own progress. I get the same when I’m tirelessly practicing. I fear she could burn out at this rate. If only I was better at easing her mind. Like she is for me.”
The exorcist began stewing in his own self proclaimed flaws. Xingqui and Xiangling looked at one another then back at Chongyun. The boy’s heart was always so big, and it wasn’t as his concerns weren’t warranted. It was sweet how much he was thinking about his girlfriend, but helping her relax would be doomed if he was stressed too! Xiangling took a cup of tea and raised it near Chongyun’s face, making him snap out of his head to react to the approaching heat.
“Hey!” He huffed.
“Sorry. Hehe, it was all I could think of. I know for a fact Xinyan thinks you’re wonderful no matter what and thinks you’re more than twice the guy you give yourself credit for.”
Xingqui agreed, “We all do, so don’t lose heart.”
As usual, his friends were comforting and typically correct. “I guess I should try being a bit more positive. Still, I feel like there’s something, anything I could do to help.”
“Well you’re in luck.” Xingqui grabbed his book and handed it to Chongyun. “A Couple’s Daily Life. It’s a romantic piece of work. It should give you tons of ideas!”
“Why were you reading a romance novel?”
“Inspiration! You don’t think all of my stories come strictly from my own thoughts? I wish that were the case, but writers block spares no one.” Xingqui lamented.
Chongyun looked at the red and white book. He was skeptical, yet curious. It wasn’t like he had any bright ideas. “Thank you. When do you need it back?”
“Don’t worry about it. I know you’re a slow reader.”
That felt like a challenge. Chongyun quickly finished the rest of his food, paid for it, then went about his day with the book open to the first page. Xingqui couldn’t help but laugh. As for Xiangling…
“Ummm Xingqui? Isn’t that book a little…mature for his intent?” Her cheeks grew red.
Xingqui raised his eyebrows. “Well this is unexpected. You’ve read it?!” He smirked. “I never would’ve guessed you liked that kind of material.”
“I didn’t know what it was!” She desperately tried to defend herself. “People kept talking about it but never mentioned…certain chapters.”
“Like the illustrations?”
“They definitely didn’t mention that when I asked! I ended up buying a copy.”
“Did you read all of it or stopped once you knew?” He could see the urge to lie written on her face as she thought long and hard about her choice.”
“Reading is like cooking. Sometimes it’s better to finish the dish despite an unseen hiccup. The end product might not be what you wanted, but that doesn’t mean for sure that it won’t be good.”
“You can say you liked it. This is me you’re talking to. I read plenty of crazy things!”
“We all can’t be as shameless as you.”
“Says the chef that mixes anything with everything at least once. Shameless? It’s just my passion. Anyways, I wouldn’t worry about Chongyun. The book is still filled with many tame and fluffy moments. Though he’s easy to tease, he’s sharp enough to take the entire book as some kind of guide to relationships. I bet mora he’ll stop right before the home cooking segment.”
Xingqui believed every word he said with absolute confidence. He did hang out with Chongyun regularly, knowing all his little quirks. Even so, it was moments like these Xiangling felt like she knew their friend the best, because she had no faith in what Xingqui said. 50/50 at best, and that was stretching it. That wasn’t even considering the possibility of him getting heated for whatever reason.
“Ten thousand mora.” She said directly. “Would you bet ten thousand mora on everything remaining within reason? I’d love to gift my dad a better stove.”
“A wager? Sounds interesting. What do I get for winning?”
“I don’t know. You’re rich. A free meal doesn’t really apply to you.”
“You aren’t wrong. Hmmm, we’ll circle back to my reward later once I think about it. Frankly this entire idea is pretty amusing on its own. Very well, I accept the bet.”
They both shook hands and nodded. Perhaps one too many interactions with Yelan had rubbed off on them.
“Thanks for the stove!”
“Heh, just you wait, chef of little faith. I’ll reap satisfaction and a reward soon enough!”
Little did Xingqui know that Rex Lapis himself would not be able to prevent him from being comically wrong.

Preparations and planning continued throughout the day. Crowds gathered, dispersed, brainstorming happened for many, and countless anxious citizens practiced with all their heart. Now it was time for many to go home in order to wake up tomorrow and do it all over again; a routine that Xinyan was no stranger to as a performer. The pyro rock star placed one foot in front of the other with her guitar still around her body and the slow beating of a drum on her back that matched her sluggish rhythm. Xinyan couldn’t remember when she ran out the house for the life of her, but it had to be before the sun greeted the sailors. Now it was long gone again with the stars in its place and a crisp wind through the streets. Nighttime in Liyue was never truly dark however. Especially now with the glow of thousands of lanterns. Nights like these reminded her of summer when the fireflies came out, although these were clearly bigger and didn’t try sneaking into her home. Well, that’s what she’d typically think, except now that her long trek home has ended at the steps, she stands before her house with light coming through the window.
“Well that ain’t normal. I didn’t leave them on all day, did I?” She said aloud. It wasn’t impossible to happen. She had been pretty busy. Xinyan doubted it was a thief. Half because her neighborhood was filled with delightful people. The other half was because she was confident nearly everything she owned was not worth taking for any financial gain. A thief would be better off taking the flowers that grew near the Pavilion. Thinking nothing else of it, Xinyan walked onto her porch and went through the door.
Upon entering, her senses were overloaded! A waft of something delicious and filled with spices attacked her nose while the crisp air from outside was literally blown away by a wave of cozy, inviting warmth that did actually remind her of the nights on the Golden Apple Archipelago. As nice as it was, now she knew someone was in her house! Fortunately it seems to be a pleasant surprise unless a thief wanted to cook her last meal before running off. Xinyan took off her shoes and looked next to the door to see another pair neatly placed already. Only two people still feel the need to remove their shoes despite her not getting bent out of shape over the etiquette; and they weren’t the carefully designed purple boots of her favorite Opera singer, but were her favorite exorcist. A grin spread across her face.
“Chongyun?” Her voice echoed with optimism, along with the sounds of pots and pans.
He slid unexpectedly into view from the kitchen wearing her black and red apron. An interesting yet amusing sight to witness. It was also surprisingly eye-catching, because the boy wasn’t wearing his typical white hood and shirt. He had removed it, leaving only the form fitting dark blue undershirt and his removable sleeves that only went up to his biceps. Xinyan didn’t know what training Shenhe was giving him, now Xinyan knew it involved shoulder strength.
“Welcome home.” He smiled.
His voice snapped her out of that intriguing observation. “H-Heya! Fancy seeing you here!” She finally walked further into her home and gave Chongyun a big hug. Yeah, Shenhe was definitely making his training worthwhile. “Question, did I leave the door unlocked?”
“No, you told me what pot the key was under. When you told me all about your island adventure. A bit dangerous don’t you think?”
“Really? I don’t think so. Neighbors are great, I can fight, and clearly telling you has led to a wonderful surprise.” Xinyan hummed the last part, a bit drained. Happy all the same however.
Chongyun looked at her joyous face. It wasn’t hard to hear that her voice was tired. Anyone’s voice would be. He could also tell faint dark circles under her eyes. Still, she smiled and tilted her head to the side with a brow raised.
“Something on my face? You’re staring mighty har-” a gentle kiss to her forehead brought her brain to a hard stop. Her cheeks grew warm and she was left to gather her thoughts as Chongyun went back to the kitchen.
A stronger wave of the mouth watering aroma graced Xinyan’s nose again. Only this time it was clear as day what it was. “Jeuyen Chilli Chicken!?” She said in disbelief.
“Mmmhmm. It’s your favorite, right? Although I can’t say I’m as talented as you are with cooking. Especially when it comes to your signature dish.”
“I reckon it’ll taste perfectly fine, but Chongyun, you handled Jeuyen Chilies!?” Xinyan couldn’t believe she didn’t find him on the floor completely out of it.
“Hehe, I’ve been careful. It’s not as if I’ve eaten any or carelessly gotten any of the oils in my eyes. That would be awful for completely separate reasons.” He shuttered. Chongyun has witnessed Xiangling make that mistake before and he didn’t want to learn that seeing it all happen was actually the least painful part.
“Careful or not, I’m completely bewildered. It feels like a summer night up in here and spices have been tickling my nose since I opened the door. I get why you must’ve removed one of your shirts, but was all it took to-” Xinyan turned towards the counter and saw the absurd amount of popsicle sticks that were stacked up like a tiny bonfire! “How is your mouth not numb or your teeth chattering!?”
“Cryo vision?” He chuckled, “And like you said, it’s like a summer night. It’s alright though. I’ve been holding up remarkably well. Once the food is done then the room will cool off a bit anyways.”
“Gee, a warm greeting and a hot meal. Next thing I know I’m a full blown princess because you drew me a bath.” Xinyan jokes, yet seeing all of this effort pampering out of seemingly nowhere made her heart rate pick up. “I…Is today an anniversary? Because Sweetheart if it is then I’m sorry but…”
“It’s a regular day.”
“Oh thank Rex Lapis!” Xinyan put her hand on her chest in immense relief. “Chongyun you have no clue how bad I was about to feel if I forgot something important! Phew! That’s a weight gone.”
“You’ve been working hard and tirelessly. I want to help lighten the load.”
He didn’t turn around but Xinyan could see his ears turn red. She was certain hers were turning as well. “Thanks. That’s really sweet of you Chongyun.” Xinyan swore her heart was beating faster than any drum tempo could manage. “Can’t wait to try your cooking.”
“Well you still have some time before it’s done. I’m sure you’re tired. Why not wash up and get comfortable?”
“Way ahead of ya.” She stretched her arms above her head and let out a groan. A bath was definitely in order. Xinyan put all her instruments down then headed off towards her bathroom.
“So far so good.” Chongyun said to himself with quiet vigor. “Don’t lose focus. Steel yourself!”
While he was hyping himself up, Xinyan stood in complete disbelief as she stared down at her bathtub; it was already full with warm water.
“Well I’ll be darn…” Xinyan’s blush grew darker. “Guess I really am a princess tonight.” If Xinyan wasn’t currently experiencing such loving gestures, she wouldn’t believe it. She felt as if she somehow fell right into a love novel!
xxxxxx
Time breezed by in the cozy house as both went about their business. The food was finally ready and all that was left was for Xinyan to enjoy it once she got out of the bath. Chongyun hoped he did a good job. Taste testing it was sadly out of the question. The entire night would quickly backfire if Xinyan walked out to seem passed out on the floor or getting wild.
“Should’ve asked Xiangling if I could borrow Guoba.” He muttered. His thought was short lived once he heard the twist of a doorknob down the hall. “How was the bath?”
“Heavenly~” she sang as she walked out. “Steam has my voice feeling right as rain again!”
“That’s good to hear. Your food is-”
Chongyun’s words suddenly became caught in his throat as Xinyan came into view. The songstress wore only a black bathrobe with red cuffs and collar. Her normal hairstyle was taken down to wash and now drying with the help of a fresh white towel ruffling the multicolored strands. Their gazes met but only briefly. Xinyan watched his gaze shift downward to her long, tanned legs and full thighs that the bathrobe failed to hide. His cheeks grew red and he looked away. Xinyan was used to walking around in a bathrobe after a nice soak but she had forgotten he had never seen her like this, nor did she expect him to look at her the way he did.
“Did he just check me out?” Xinyan felt both flattered and a little embarrassed. “You…said food was ready?” She tried to cut the tension.
“Y-Yeah.” He had already made her plate and proceeded to place it on the table along with a pitcher of refreshing, chilled tea.
“Iced tea? Haha, the way people here would flip.”
“Well I suspected you wouldn’t stand me making you food without also making myself some.” He grabbed a second prepared plate of Jueyen Chicken, the food cooled and devoid of any chilies.
“Look at you, all prepared and reading me like a book. Any meal tastes better with good company.” With that said, Xinyan grabbed as much chicken and chili peppers as possible between her chopstick and took a bite that sent her taste buds dancing. “Mmmmm! Hell yeah!”
“I didn’t over do it?”
“You kiddin? This is great! Almost as hot as when I make it.”
Chongyun found two bushes worth of fresh peppers for this meal. The fact it wasn’t as hot and Xinyan was wolfing it down without taking a sip was both impressive and very terrifying. Chongyun thought his tongue might go numb just watching. But hey, she loved it. That’s all that mattered.
“There’s plenty more if you want seconds.”
“I might take you up on that. Seriously, great work. Xiangling herself would be amazed.”
“Please, the last thing I need is her knowing I cooked with chilies. Who knows what ideas she might get. Glad you love it though. I feared you may have eaten before you came home.”
“It crossed my mind. I was so swept up in my music and chatting with workers that I didn’t have time to think about my stomach. Then when I finally did, vendors were closing.” Xinyan laughed at herself. “I was planning to cook whatever was left tonight but you had your own ideas.”
“Eating is important. Don’t overdo your practice too much.”
“Pfft, I’m fiiiiiine! A little winded but I always bounce back! Won’t be long now before the festival. Hopefully all my hardwork will shine through properly.”
Chongyun wanted to say more, but he didn’t want to spoil the mood. Xinyan looked so happy right now. She was practically bouncing in her seat as she ate. The towel on her head had even slipped off. What was it about pyros? Everyone one he’s met truly burned bright with passion just like their element. Still, Xinyan’s fire burned in a way he could never look away from. In every sense of the word, her passion itself was a spectacle to watch; on or off stage.
“It’ll shine through.”
“Hmm?”
“Your hardwork.” Chongyun smiled, “I know it will pay off.”
Xinyan finally slowed her chewing and took a sip of the tea. Not because she needed it, but to hide her face.
“The heat finally getting to you?” Chongyun asked as he saw a bit of redness on her face.
“Y-Yeah. The food, it’s like it keeps getting hotter.” She stuttered.
The two continued to talk about their day. The unforeseen mishaps of rehearsals or the unexpected run in with their shared friend, Aether. They talked about it all except the obvious bit about Chongyun reading the book of course. Eventually both of their stomachs were full and dishes were cleaned. Xinyan was a little pouty however because Chongyun was diligent enough to have done most of the clean up while she was bathing. Getting pampered was nice and all, but Xinyan wanted to do a little helping with him. They were here dishes after all. After the kitchen was clean they both walked towards her living room.
“Thanks again for the meal. I owe ya.”
“Don’t mention it. I was happy to do it.”
“Guess this means our time together is almost up? A shame but can’t be helped. I myself probably shouldn’t dilly dally too much longer with all the things left to do tomorrow.” Xinyan sighed. She put her left arm on her right shoulder and tried stretching it, wincing a little in the process.
“Stiff shoulders?”
“Probably need to replace my guitar strap, or lug it around a bit less. But only just a bit.”
She switched to the left one briefly before trying to stretch her entire upper back in general. Chongyun took hold of her hand and walked her over to the couch for her to sit. He said nothing as he sat directly behind her. Xinyan nearly let out a shriek after feeling his fingers pull the robe a little ways down her shoulders before taking his thumbs to massage the worn tendons. The calloused hands of a warrior were something else. Xinyan could the stress dissolve as his kneaded particular spots by moving them in some circles.
“Mmmmmmm…” was all she could say in appreciation.
“Am I pressing too hard?”
“By all means, press harder. This some sort of clan secret about the body and vitals?”
Chongyun blinked, “Actually…yes.”
“Your clan is awesome.” Xinyan groaned as he kept massaging her shoulders. She doesn’t even think a good night's rest would’ve cured fatigue this well.
She didn’t know how long they stayed like this but it didn’t feel long enough the moment his fingers stopped. Xinyan did feel infinitely better, the satisfying grin on her face saying it all, as well as her leaning back against him.
“Thanks for that too. I do believe I’ve officially been spoiled rotten tonight.” Xinyan looked up to smile at him and was greeted with mesmerizing icy blue eyes that made her heart jump with the way he was already silently gazing upon her. Xinyan’s heart jumped again once he tilted her chin up a little more while lowering his to kiss her gently, but deep as well.
Both of her arms moved on their own, raising upward to hold him just as he was while she kissed him back. Internally, Xinyan had dismissed the idea of a kiss, given the meal she had recently eaten. Chongyun however, didn’t appear to mind at all. His tongue slipped between her lips to claim her own and earn a moan. Their lips separated several seconds later, but the moment wasn’t over. Xinyan didn’t even have a moment to say anything about their kiss before her face turned red again and a gasp left her body from the weight of his fingers pressing down, rubbing against core. Slowly, he slid two of those calloused fingers right into her, curling them to graze against her walls. Her legs twitched, closing a little before spreading wider for his touch while he kissed her ear. This wasn’t their first time, but Chongyun had never been so forward; actively taking hold of her like this.
“H-Hey…” she breathed deeply, her eyes focused on the fingers that constantly pulled out into view before disappearing again to send a shiver to her lower spine. “Chongyun~”
He whispered directly into her ear. “Ssshhh. Relax. I got you, so just let go.”
His words made her hips sway, rocking in rhythm with his digits. Chongyun’s left hand came from around her side and slipped in between the bathrobe to squeeze her boobs firmly, going between each of them to show equal affection by kneading them like dough. Her voice leaked out as whines and moans as his advances persisted. Chongyun himself was a little flushed by his brazenness.
“To think you had nothing under the robe the whole time.”
“I..I was wet.”
“And what are you now?”
Xinyan hid her face in the crook of his neck. “Wet~” she mewled. His fingers got rougher with her, thrusting in faster and simultaneously destroying and building a tension her body was filled with. Her hips had completely left the couch and Chongyun moved his back to claim her lips again. Xinyan could only open her mouth wider, inviting him in to conquer it with this new found vigor of his that she couldn’t, nor wanted to deny. Anytime a thought began to form in her head, it faded into pleasure the moment his left hand pinched one of her nipples. From head to toe, he had ensnared her in pleasure that steadily began dripping down his wonderful fingers. Xinyan wasn’t sure how much more she could take. She could feel her own body grip them, trying to squeeze down for something that wasn’t there. If it was however…Xinyan’s body shuddered and hips grew weak at the idea. Their kiss grew ragged and her moans were only interrupted by her own lack of breath. Chongyun must’ve noticed this. He reluctantly let her tongue go for Xinyan to catch her breath, but in truth all she did was pant harder.
“Wait! I’m…I’m gonna…!” She quivered
“Cum whenever you want. I’m not stopping til you do.” Chongyun leaned towards her ear again. “I love you so much.”
Such a dirty move, but one Xinyan fell helplessly for time and time again. Her fingers gripped his hair and her sight began to blur. Pleasure all but erupted through her body as her hips went rigid midair and her body coated Chongyun’s fingers with her essence. Seconds felt like an eternity before her voiceless cries found their noise. Her body finally went limp, falling to the couch. Xinyan’s head rested against Chongyun’s chest while she attempted to gather her thoughts and breath. Flushed beyond belief, she looked up at her boyfriend, disheveled as she was.
Her loving gaze said all that it needed, prompting Chongyun to kiss her again. It was gentle and deep like before, making the girl moan in relief as her body gradually calmed back down from the orgasm. Their kiss ended and Xinyan sank deeper into Chongyun’s embrace.
He watched his tired girlfriend. “You okay?”
“Mmhmm.” She nodded slightly. “Talk about a rush.” Xinyan dared to look up at him again. Slowly she raised a hand and gently flicked his forehead. “Soooo…did you enjoy A Couple’s Daily Life?”
In an instant, Chongyun felt his body go cold, then his face heat up with the rush of blood flowing to it as Xinyan smirked at him. Caught red handed, but how!?
“W-What’s that?” He said, no convention in his voice whatsoever. He didn’t even know why he tried and folded immediately. “How’d you know?”
“Xiangling mentioned it one time she visited. I even borrowed it to see what all the hubbub was about.”
“…That would’ve useful information to know.” Chongyun made a mental note of that next.
“Hehe, Sweetie? Not to sound ungrateful, because I’m really not, but what in tarnation possessed you to read a romance book and put the moves on me?” He tried looking away but Xinyan put her hands on the side of burning red face. “Relax, I’m not mad or anything.”
“I know. I just…I’m embarrassed. I was hoping you wouldn’t notice that I needed to do something as cheesy as read romance books to think of ways to put you at ease.”
“Put me at ease?”
“Lantern Rite. You’ve been running around so much, getting frustrated during rehearsals, and staying up so long that even I can notice circles forming under your eyeliner. I mean you even came home after not eating and a tired voice. I wanted… I wanted to help you relax. A way to take the edge off. But anytime I went to see you, I couldn’t think of anything. I felt useless.”
“Hey. You’re never useless, understand me?” Her thumbs rubbed the sides of his face. “Okay, I’ve been a bit out of sorts with this performance coming up and everything, but ain’t anything I’m not used to or can’t handle. Though I suppose to plenty of people I haven’t looked my best. Maybe I have been pushing harder than I should, but I promise I’m okay and you’ve been putting me at ease from the start.”
“I have…?”
“Heck yeah! Chongyun, just you dropping by during setup makes me happy. I may not show it because I’m juggling one thing after another, but your company itself is wonderful because I know if I need you then you’ll be there. Feeling that level of trust is all the ease I need. Don’t go thinking you had to do something as grand as this. Although once again, very grateful.” She giggled.
“Being there is enough. It’s really that simple.”
“Always will be, I love you. And don’t feel bad about searching in a book or asking someone for advice either. You only know what you know. And now that I know you’ve been looking at me so attentively, how could I be anything but happy?”
She was all smiles. Chongyun had felt so embarrassed and concerned about everything, and she burned all of them away in a matter of seconds. Xinyan truly was amazing. Chongyun held her a little tighter and rested his head on her. It was as if a weight left his shoulders. He couldn’t help but sigh.
“Aww, look at you. All worked about making sure I’m not. Somehow, that’s so perfectly you.”
“The irony is not lost on me.”
“Hehe, cheer up. You’ve achieved your goal after all. Let me pay it forward.”
“Hmm? How s-”Xinyan left his embrace and flipped over to her stomach. The girl gave him a smile as she shimmied her body down the couch, her head was over his waist and her hands rested against his not so hidden erection.
“You didn’t think I didn’t notice this guy poking me the entire time, did ya?”
It was a good thing Chongyun was already blushing. “Aren’t you tired?”
“A little, but I’m a tit for tat kind of gal. You know that. Also…” she tugged at his waistband, freeing his erection. Xinyan wasted no time taking hold of it and making Chongyun groan instantly. She kissed the base then gave the growing length a long lick to the very tip, her gaze never breaking away from his. “Moments like these always feel the best when both partners are satisfied.”
She gave no room for compromise. Just like he did to her, Chongyun didn’t have time to respond before Xinyan wrapped her lips around him and gradually swallowed him. Admittedly, she wasn’t too experienced in things like this. But what Xinyan lacked in experience she made up for in effort. Chongyun could feel her tongue work its way up and down his shaft as her head bobbed slowly. They were a lot alike in ways people wouldn’t immediately guess. Like how quick they were to be vocal.
“Xinyan~” he moaned, already losing himself in the pleasure.
Hearing her name and seeing his flushed expression only spurred Xinyan on. She wanted to see more of it, moaning as well in the process. Xinyan took his left hand and led towards the side of her face where he then started rubbing and guiding it gently as more of him worked its way into her throat until all seven inches became ensnared by her mouth that surrounded him in immense warmth. Chongyun’s scent, his very taste overwhelmed her senses gradually. He couldn’t even keep his hips still either as they grew numb, Xinyan’s name still leaving his lips again and again. She had intended to go until the end, but this had felt more exciting than she anticipated. It was like a switch had flipped.
Before he could reach his limit, Chongyun was released from her lips, his length fully erect and twitching. “Xinyan?” He said trying to compose himself.
“Do you remember our first time?”
“Yes. Dragonspine; what about it?” He watched her sit up and undo her robe, revealing her body in all its glory.
“Let’s warm up, okay?” Her voice trembled with desire and want.
Chongyun took his pants off completely, then removed his shirt. He didn’t care to remove the sleeves and neither did she wear the robe. Xinyan had already put her legs on each side of him and hovered above his lap. Slowly, she lowered herself onto his length. Both couldn’t repress their lustful moans. Xinyan could feel every inch spread her open and Chongyun could barely keep himself together as her walls clung to all the way down, giving him an immense heat that he didn’t want to push away. His impatience got the better of him and he pulled Xinyan into another ravenous kiss while her hips began rocking back and forth.
After all that effort to keep calm, Xinyan made him toss it to the side. Their bodies pressed against each other, exploring everything. Xinyan’s hands found their home in tracing Chongyun’s well defined torso and running her fingers through his hair and they continued to kiss. Her hips moved all on their own to bring both them steadily to their end. An end that Chongyun wanted to race towards apparently, as Xinyan felt his hands grab hold of her ass and pull her even closer onto his length.
Xinyan was forced to break the kiss after that. “Aaah~ Chongyun!” She cooed. He gently nipped at her neck before going further. His mouth captured one of her boobs and relentlessly teased it. Xinyan’s arms kept him close; not like he planned on stopping his assault. The way he dug into her all of her sensitive spots made moans into a symphony for only him to hear. “I..close again.” She uttered between breaths.
Chongyun leaned forward until Xinyan gently fell back onto the couch. “Let me watch~”
A request that not only caught her off guard, but made her squeeze tighter. Chongyun took both of her hands to hold and continued to rock his hips as he gazed down at her with a mixture of love and lust in his eyes. Xinyan didn’t know where to look. His eyes were dangerous and looking away didn’t undo the feeling of his gaze on her body. Looking down only frazzled her mind, burning the sight of his throbbing length plunging into her forever in her memory along with the indecent noises they created each time it reached her deepest part. Xinyan was left completely exposed.
“N-Nooo~ wait! Please I- Chongyun~” there was no escape. “CHONGYUN~”
Her entire body tensed like stone, doing nothing else but fulfilling his request by cumming all over on his rigid cock and gripping it, begging for his seed. It pushed him over his limit. Xinyan felt like her body was hit with electro and he pulled out all at once. Ropes of his burning hot essence painted her body, landing in messy lines across her stomach and even her boobs. Both their bodies spasmed as the pleasure kept hitting in waves, one after the other until they were weak enough to function again. Sweaty, Xinyan looked at Chongyun who was as breathless and sweaty as her.
“L..Looks-” she sighed, “looks like I need another bath.” She laughed weakly.
Chongyun could barely function, still trying to recover. Even so, he faintly smiled and laughed as well. “My bad.”

Will the pampering never cease? At least for the night, and Xinyan was okay with that. Their little quality time had her legs more than any running around had done. Now the two of them sat in her bathtub with Chongyun’s hands at work once again, but this time they were rinsing her hair and massaging her scalp. His body made the water cool and refreshing and frankly, Xinyan couldn’t get enough of it.
“Aaah, nothing beats quality time.” She began humming.
Chongyun listened to the girl’s joyful melody as they both relaxed. Things got a little out of hand, but everything ended okay. In the end, that’s all that mattered. He finished with her hair and once again pulled her into his embrace. He kissed the top of her head and relaxed himself.
“I love you, my little rockstar.”
That’s a new one. She didn’t remember nicknames being in the book either. Xinyan smiled and rested against them. She kissed him quickly then briefly shut her eyes. “I love you too, sweetie.”

Another day, another cup of tea. Once again, Xiangling had perfectly predicted Xingqui’s taste. “Have you seen Chongyun at all today? He’s usually here before you.” She asked.
“If I had to guess, he spent all night reading the book and overslept.”
Moments later, the boy came walking around the corner to greet his friends and take a seat. “I’ll have a-” Xiangling placed his order in front of him again. “That truly is terrifying.”
“I know my loyal customers.” She said with pride. “Anyways, you look happier than yesterday.”
He nodded, joy beaming across his face. “I finished the book and took some of the ideas out of it. Things didn’t go completely as planned but it all worked out.”
“Really?” Xingqui said with deep fascination. “That’s wonderful news! So, what clever stunt did you draw inspiration from?”
Chongyun’s face turned red again and he laughed awkwardly. “Umm that’s a little personal don’t you think?”
Xingqui paused for a moment, unblinking and thoughts derailed. Surely Chongyun didn’t. He wouldn’t! And yet, the obvious blush and scent of floral shampoo told a different story. Xingqui looked at Xiangling who stared at him with all the smugness of a cat as she wrote a bill and slid it his way.
“A chef knows her loyal customers.” She repeated.
Chongyun watched Xingqui hang his head in defeat. Clearly he had missed something the two didn’t bother to tell him about. Which reminded him…
“Xiangling, since when do you read and discuss romance novels?” He squinted.
The girl froze. Of course Xinyan told him. “….We don’t need to get into all that.”

Oracle!Reader Part 8
Masterlist - Part 1, Part 7, Part 9
Gonna be honest, Y/N is not nice in this chapter. Not like abusive but just wanted to warn ya'll. My au is supposed to be dark and cruel in a way. This is yandere imposter sagau after all.
A storm brewed above the ship as the two hydra heads roared toward the sky. Shielding your face with your arms you tried to gaze up at the towering dark blue bodies. The teal markings on its armor-like heads let you know who exactly was attacking you.
Beisht, Avenger of the Vortex. AKA Osial's wife who not only has a grudge against Liyue but Beidou specifically due to her warning Ningguang about Beisht's attack.
The Crux has probably gone hundreds of times to Inazuma peacefully but the one time you go is when they get attacked by a sea monster.
Just
Your
Fucking
Luck
Beidou's laugh rings out as the ship sways from the currents and the crewmembers start running to their weapons and positions. Not missing a beat Xinyan ends her song as she uses her vision to blast fire at Beisht.
Holy fuck, this wasn't an accident. This was planned. Beidou planned this shit and went through with it even though you, a guest, are on this crazy ship.
Anger swells up in you like a tornado and you ignore the blasts of water that try to hit the jumping form of Beidou. You look around in blind anger for one of the ballistae on the ship.
The thought of shooting either Beidou or Beisht with it was making your blood pump faster. And even if you did hit Beidou, you could always lie that you were aiming at Beisht.
You spot the closest one and start running towards it. Firm hands wrap around your waist and lift you off the ground.
"I apologize for the urgency, but this isn't a safe spot for you."
Kazuha's calm voice in your ear has a soothing effect on your temperament. Forcibly relaxing your body, you let Kazuha carry you down the stairs and he sets you down quickly in a room.
"Stay here while we take care of the sea monster. I don't want you getting hurt, it will not have mercy on you."
You clench your hands as your body trembles in anger. It's Kazuha's worried and sad eyes that make you unclench your fists.
"I know it's scary so please heed my words."
Burying your head into your knees a muffled sound of confirmation slips out. If he wants to think you're scared, let him. Some time alone might even be good for you.
Kazuha leaves and it's then that you can hear the sound of the fighting as the boat rocks. Xiangling and Xinyan's pyro make the air sticky as Kazuha swirling the water makes it humid too.
The crackling of thunder no doubt from Beidou makes you grind your teeth. You were right to be afraid of going with the Crux, she may be popular but she's far too dangerous.
That was definitely Beisht, you think back to her boss fight and remember her attacks. Shooting water, slamming her head and neck, water missiles, and wait wasn't there a third head?-
A loud bang echoes as the ship starts tilting dangerously. Yelping you shield your head from the items that start falling onto you. Another deafening thud and you're being thrown onto the opposite wall.
As more heavier items crash onto you, the wall makes a cracking sound. You couldn't be sure that it was the boat breaking but you couldn't risk it.
If you stayed here, you'll either be crushed to death or drown if that wall breaks. The Alcor keeps rocking left to right as you struggle to stand and leave the room. Closing the door shut, you know you have a few more bruises than you came in with.
The hallway is even worse than the room. Harpoons and other weapons are dangerously close to falling and you rush up the stairs to avoid that disaster.
The main deck is a chaotic mess of crewmembers running back and forth. Xiangling is continually setting wooden spears and stakes aflame before different crewmembers shoot it.
Xinyan, Kazuha, and Beidou all work together to attack Beisht's heads whenever she gets close to attack. Keeping a death grip on the railing you watch the incredible yet infuriating display of power.
Finally remembering that you'll need to defend yourself too, you go back down the stairs. Swiftly you dodge the dropping objects and get to your room. Shoving your hand into your bag and selecting the sickle, you pull it out.
The fear of dying is remedied by the weight of the weapon. Sprinting with more confidence you get back to the main deck. Both sides of the deck have one of her heads low and close ready to shoot the powerful jet of water.
Something about the way she looks is... off. Your mind wanders back to the game cutscenes and automatically compares it to what you see now.
What were once toothless jaws were now filled with layers of sharp teeth. The underbelly of her bodies looked less watery and sleeker. The fins on her back looked firmer and seemed to be in a more organized row.
Beisht shoots the water from her mouths, and you can feel how hot the water is. Xinyan is quick to dodge by climbing the stairs while Kazuha leaps using the wind. Beidou uses her skill to defend herself and rack up energy.
As the scalding water gets closer you hold the sickle to your chest and try to back away. You may be crazy but not stupid enough to try what Beidou is doing.
Surprisingly she stops only inches away from you, lifting her heads she shoots the brunt of the attack toward the sky. Hot droplets rain down on the ship as the attack dies down.
Her heads regroup and her third one appears behind the first two. All her heads roar and they slam onto the deck. Instead of slamming onto you as you expected, she boxes you in the middle of the deck instead.
As two heads serve as the walls, her third head opens its mouth. The sight of the teal muscles with holes in them makes you shudder. Would dying to a sea monster be better or worse than dying accused as an imposter?
Probably better, at least this way you would be remembered fondly and missed. Even if it's only for a short while.
"Glorious creator, it is my greatest honor to have lived long enough to meet you."
What the fuck.
The sounds of everyone else attacking Beisht's other heads are drowned out as you look up at her in shock.
"Although my husband could not meet you, he was a devoted believer. These puny mortals are having you travel in such conditions with such little glory. Do these pirates not know your greatness?!"
Her tone gets louder as she speaks about the Crux. How could she recognize you as the creator? Were you right in guessing that the creatures of Teyvat could recognize you? But she's more on the god side so how could she realize but not Ei?
"Beisht, how have you heard of me?" If sea monsters gods could smile then that's exactly what Beisht was doing.
"Your blood, your grace. They bleached your gold blood. They hurt you with violent intentions. Just as the scriptures said, the offenders will pay for hurting you. Teyvat is calling upon your true worshippers to deliver justice."
This doesn't make complete sense. Beishts own arrogance and hatred for Liyue is having an impact on her words. What does seem to be true is that Teyvat was alerted when you got hurt and is drawing strong creatures that it can connect with to you.
"Then this is something we should be talking with less distractions." Choosing your words carefully, you note how everyone has been listening to your conversation with Beisht.
It's a good thing they can't understand her. Whether she's intentionally not letting them understand her or not isn't important.
You motion Beisht to back away with a flick of your wrist. Beisht is expecting you to act like the creator, you need to play your part. This whole situation is a golden opportunity.
Beisht obeys your silent command and moves her heads off the boat. Beidou is the first to run up to you with how close she is. The battle comes to a silent pause as everyone watches your seemingly unharmed form with relief.
"Are you okay?!" The urge to scoff and give a snarky response is strong but you push it down. With a solemn expression, you speak clearly.
"I've been granted a rare opportunity to talk with Beisht according to the creator's will. I have messages to relay to her but I cannot do so with everyone here."
A rare confused expression crosses Beidou's face at your words as you step away from her and move closer to Beisht. With a tight grip on your sickle, you speak calmly to Beisht.
"Come closer so we can speak somewhere with more privacy. The matter of the divine isn't one to always be so open about."
Beisht seems to pick up on the identity you have in the eyes of the Crux and lowers her main head onto the boat. With confident strides, you walk to her head and climb on.
Fear and worry rise within you as you grip the middle feeler on her head and look at the Crux with a smile.
"I'll be back soon, so don't stop sailing. I'll catch up before you know it."
Your grip on the feeler becomes tight as Beisht's head suddenly drops into the water. A scream instinctively leaves your throat from the sudden gesture.
The last thing you saw before the ocean engulfed you was the various expressions of horror and fear on everyones faces. A small part of you smirks at the guilt that paints Beidou's face.
You shut your mouth and eyes expecting the salty water to drown you. Yet not even a drop of water touches you and the sight of the vast ocean surrounds you.
In awe you watch the air bubble around you supplying you with oxygen and shielding you from the water. Fish swim past as Beisht continues to descend into the depths.
Soon enough the only light around is the teal markings on her body. It reminds you of just how frightening the ocean can be. That at any moment Beisht could think that you're an imposter too and let you drown here...
Tightening your grip on her, you push those thoughts away. They will only hinder you, being nervous will make everything worse. You've made it this far, haven't you?
As a distraction, you think about how exactly this air bubble is being made. Was it Beisht, Teyvat, or did you unconsciously do it? Considering that you can only control elements that you accessed from the Statue of the Sevens then it can't be you.
Beisht was connected to the vortex and water. This air bubble wasn't just reusing your oxygen, it was supplying fresh oxygen. She can't control oxygen so that only leaves Teyvat. Then how could Teyvat protect you from drowning but let the electro from Ei hurt you?
Beisht finally stops and you can vaguely see the outline of her main body due to the glowing teal marks. It keeps reminding you of a certain god masquerading as a bard.
"Your grace, I see the false identity you hold in front of them. Yet I do not hold the same wisdom you hold, please enlighten me on why you hide yourself."
Her vocabulary is naturally arrogant but the tone she says it all in, sounds like she's imploring. It's good, you can utilize this and her natural dislike for humans.
"Coming back from that other world has left me very weak. I have little memories of when I was the creator and this body is weak. They see my unmasked face and assume I'm an imposter. Ei was the main culprit. Just a mask would solve that but my mere presence shows my divinity. Quite a few of my acolytes barely believe my words as an oracle, I would be a fool to publically reveal myself as the creator."
Your words are spoken with a sense of coldness as if you're completely detached from the situation. The water around you seems to raise a few degrees. Taking a risk you speak lowly with a mix of sadness and condescension.
"Humans and Archons are not that different. They cannot accept the truth if it's different than what they expect or desire. Greed and pride have always been the downfall of humans."
"Your grace, they do not deserve your attention or words. The Electro Archon will pay for harming you. They will all pay for hurting you. Thank you for teaching me, I will do your bidding. I will make sure that you'll never need to worry about me acting as foolish as those Archons."
Perfect, it's exactly what you wanted.
"We will take over and subdue Teyvat for harming you. We'll lay the Archons, humans, and anything else that dares defy you at your feet. We will make them atone for their sins. That pirate crew will be the first to pay! Not only have I lost my husband and child to them, they even harmed you!"
What child? They had a kid??? Wait that can come later, Beisht going out of control would harm the reputation you've built up, this has to stop!
"Silence." Your command is swift and your gaze is cold as you stare down Beisht. The quiet that comes makes you smile inwardly. Playing hot and cold towards someone who idolizes you tends to make them more attached. More desperate to keep your wavering love and affection.
"Now, now don't get too worked up. Going off and doing whatever you wish in my name is contradictory to what you said earlier."
"I beg for your forgiveness, your grace." Beisht lowers her heads in shame. A kind smile crosses your face and you reach through the bubble to pet her heads.
"I forgive you Beisht, mistakes are part of the learning process. You've already done so well in recognizing me. Why don't you start by answering my questions first? What happened to your child?"
Beisht closes her eyes and bubbles float up as her heads sigh in content over your touch.
"My child, born from Osial and I, fought for days against that pirate ship. In the end, they killed my child and his murderer gained a vision from it. Celestia truly mocks the defeated from the Archon War."
Sea monster, 'that' pirate ship, and a vision from his death.
Haishan is her child.
No wonder she hates Beidou so much. She basically killed her whole family!
"Haishan has lived in my name and with his death, he returned to me too. I can tell your anger is as great as your sorrow. Take comfort in my words and let your anger fuel your devotion to me."
Loneliness is a manipulator's best friend. Beisht is terribly lonely and will cling to you and your words as her only lifeline. And in your situation, a dog like this will be needed.
"I will your grace, someday I too will return to your loving embrace through death."
Gently she nuzzles your hands with her heads. Tracing the glowing marks that adorn her head you ask in a soothing voice.
"Tell me how you came to find me."
"After the battle with Liyue and the human-adepti I retreated to the depths of the ocean to heal myself. I was dormant when Teyvat called us. It spoke about harm coming to you, at how your gold blood had been bleached."
"Who is 'us'? You also referred to yourself as 'we' earlier too."
"I was not the only one stirred by Teyvat. The water has become more lively with strong elemental currents. I do not doubt that there are even more beings awakening on land. We are all being called to defend you and pay back your liquid gold blood. After so long without you, we are regaining our reason for living."
So if many other elemental monsters are being 'stirred' then that means you could get more allies. Guoba didn't even know he used to be a god until he was told so was it in character or not that he knew you were the creator? You'll need to find more evidence on land but this was leading to a favorable situation.
But Beisht's fixation on your blood being gold was not good. You'll have to address that now. If you wait too long and it reveals outside of your control she'll believe that you were lying to her. God knows what she would do to you then.
"On the topic of my blood, there is something I must clear up. My blood is not gold, it is red."
An eery stillness takes over the atmosphere and you seemingly look down at the 3-headed hydra. The feeling of her scales seems to heat up a little, gritting your teeth you continue.
"I sincerely hope that you are not doubting me. The scriptures never said that my blood itself was gold. The true meaning of that text is that my blood is as precious as gold."
Your blank expression and sharp eyes don't leave her. In one hand you hold your sickle above and electro-coats it with a dangerous crackle.
The looming threat of death washes over you as the sickle crackles with more ferocity. Teyvat heeds your silent wishes and hydro starts rapidly spinning around you. Swiftly you thrust it into the water and it hits Beisht as she thrashes from the pain.
"Forgive me! Forgive me! Forgive this arrogant and foolish follower!"
She roars and begs, your heart is as tight as your grip on her but the sickle still crackles in the water. She's a sea monster and that's the only reason she hasn't died yet.
It's only the sight of toasted pieces of sleek flesh on her that you pull the sickle out of the water and back into the air bubble. The electro fizzles out and Beisht's sad wails echo around you.
She's whimpering and begging with near-silent pleas for forgiveness. Your hand is gentle and warm on the head that she is carrying you on.
"Hush now Beisht, this punishment was something you brought onto yourself. Never doubt my words, my teaching is law. Do you see how futile suspecting and denying me of my divinity is? Crimson or gold, my blood is not what matters most, it is I that exist above you."
Beisht's body seems to curl around the air bubble you stand in as you continue petting and soothing her. Your pleasant humming is a sharp contrast to your rapid heartbeat.
You were either going to die to Beisht or die to your electro. But this turned out better than you originally thought. Even though it hurt you to cause the one powerful ally you have pain, it was necessary. You can never let her entertain the idea of betraying you.
If you must play the role of oracle in front of the others then you must play the role of creator in front of the rest. Y/N was the oracle, the creator, and most importantly a liar.
"The fact that you could sense my presence on that boat intrigues me. How could you sense me while Ei could not? The same goes for the other Archons, surely they would have felt Teyvat's call too."
"The Archons accepted Celestia's power which drew them away from you. They worship you the mortal or human method more often than the way elemental beings do. Changing their style of worship may have connected them to other mortals better but it also muddled their sense of hearing Teyvat"
Her voice is hoarse and low, humbled after her punishment. Your smile was kind and your touch tender, but the sly part of your heart reveled in it.
"Tell me the difference between the two."
"Elemental beings worship by sacrificing parts of themselves to you. Some offer up energy, blood, lifeforce, and others give limbs. Only their own, offering up anyone else's would be sacrilegious. As elemental beings, we will always heal and reform. Celestia has possibly blinded them to the consequences of forsaking our worship to keep them away from you."
Now that was one of the most useful pieces of information you've gained thus far. What would happen if you convinced one of the Archons, not counting Ei, to try this style of worship? Would it enhance your position as the oracle, make you more suspicious, or give them the idea that you might be the creator?
Your thoughtfulness seems to make Beisht anxious, that's understandable seeing as you've proven to be volatile in her eyes. With a nearly patronizing pat on her head, you speak with a happy tone.
"As the creator, I require both elemental and human worship. I have many plans and it includes you Beisht. With each nation I visit and interactions with the Statues of the Seven, I gain more power. I will need you to spread the truth of my arrival to those who Teyvat awoke. Can I trust you with that?"
"It is a privilege to serve you, beloved creator. I will travel through the ocean and fulfill your command." She's clearly enthusiastic and grateful. You have her right where you want her.
"Stay quiet and careful, avoid fighting in general. I have much of the world to explore on my own and see to tell who deserves my forgiveness when everything is revealed. No rushing, I have a long life to live. The other elemental creatures will have the information I need too."
"I understand your grace. At this point and time, your main attention is to investigate the mortal's faith. I will stay unnoticed after this point so that I do not hinder your plan."
You had no plan on revealing your status as the creator. These words were only said to keep Beisht calm and peaceful. Beisht has such a terrible reputation as a villain that if she told the truth, it would only make them all think worse of you.
The little pieces of evidence you have acquired, proving your title might be enough if you were in regular Genshin Impact. But in this world with obsession, death, and violence, you could not claim that so easily. Beisht better be prepared to wait a long time, if not your whole life span which might not be long considering your luck.
"Can I really trust your words Beisht? You think lowly of the mortals for harming me but you have hurt me as well. And it's not when you doubted me, I'm talking about how you hurt me physically."
Your words are like a bucket of cold water. The suspicious gaze she receives from you makes her stutter.
"W-What do you mean your grace? The moment I spotted you, I drew away."
'Pathetic' that's what your expression told her. That's exactly what you thought of her. Her lie specifically.
"Never try to lie to me. This is your only warning. When you rose from the water, you spotted me first but you let yourself be distracted by the sight of Beidou. So caught up in the fight, it wasn't until I got banged up by everything that you finally spotted me and remembered your original task."
The words seem to hit the nail on the head as Beisht lowers herself to you. With an ominous air, you swing the sickle back and forth.
"I will not deny my sins. I lied to you and tried to hide it. Whatever punishment you choose is one I will accept wholeheartedly." Her voice wavers and cracks. She's scared and your smile makes her tremble beneath you.
But it seems to wash away as you rest your upper body on her head closest to you. Ignoring the lingering water droplets you pet her softly.
"It's okay Beisht, I know you were emotional after seeing Beidou. The pain and wrath were hard to fight wasn't it?" The forgiving voice you used was almost like a mask as you traced her scales using the sickle at the same time.
Unnerved, confused, grateful, and scared Beisht sounds like she's near tears.
"Thank y-you, your grace. The mercy you have on your creations is not something we deserve yet you give it anyway."
"I've been hurt so many times Beisht. So you'll prove yourself worthy of my trust right?" The sickle gets stuck at the brightest teal scale on her main head's forehead.
"Take this scale off and give it to me. This will be proof of your devotion to me." You whisper the command disguised as a request.
Without hesitation, Beisht's second head comes closer and you move away just in time to see her tug the scale off with her mouth. It's placed at your feet and it glimmers as you pick it up.
"It's beautiful Beisht. I will accept this as proof of your faith in me. It's time for me to be returned to the ship, do not forget what I have told you."
"Yes, your holiness." The attitude she has is much more subdued than the one she held when you first went down with her. You can now safely trust that in a worst-case scenario, you'll go to the ocean and have her bring you somewhere safe.
Fish and other sea creatures swim past you as Beisht brings you back to the boat. It's a lot further than when you left but that's no problem for the leviathan.
The Alcor is above you and Beisht only raises her head that has you on her above water. The air bubble dissolves and the sun shines down on you. The heat of it is welcomed after staying in the freezing deep for so long.
Yet it's the bright flash of electro that you are greeted with as Beidou jumps toward Beisht.
Thoughts bombard your mind on what to do, what to say. Electro, hydro, claymore, Beidou, Beisht, sickle, and defend!
With adrenaline and fear coursing through your veins, you bring your sickle up as a defense. Electro meets electro as the force of the blow keeps you both locked in place.
Planting your feet steady on Beisht's head, you grit your teeth and push harder against Beidou. In mere seconds your electro overpowers hers and Beidou is struck back to the boat with a pained yell.
The crew, Xinyan, and Xiangling rush to where Beidou was thrown. A sense of deja vu fills you as Kazuha jumps to you and quickly carries you away from Beisht.
After smoothly landing and setting you behind him, Kazuha brandishes his sword in Beisht's direction. The multiple cuts and bruises on his body show just how injured he got in the earlier battle.
A small part of you can't help but feel touched by his protection. Even though it's entirely unnecessary. Why didn't he immediately go check on Beidou? They are very close after all...
Letting that thought fade away, you place your hand on Kazuha's shoulder and smile reassuringly at him. Beidou grunts as she's helped out of the mess of broken wood.
A brief sense of vindication enters you at the sight of the multiple wounds on her, mostly likely from the previous battle. Splinters and new scrapes cover her exposed skin and a particularly big one went through her left palm.
The blood mixes with the wood chips as it drips off her palm. She's grabbing her weapon again and tries to head toward Beisht. Quickly you move to stand in front of her.
"It's alright Beidou, Beisht isn't going to attack anymore." Beidou's eyes widen as she takes in the sight of you. Not a single scrap or drop of blood is on you.
Turning back to Beisht, you motion her to leave with a hand gesture. Obediantly Beisht dives back into the water and disappears.
The waves start to calm and the clouds slowly disperse. You think of the electro you used against Beisht and Beidou. The control you have over it has been growing, despite how dangerous it is, you'll need more power.
Eyes widening in surprise you're spun around by Beidou as she checks your body throughly.
"I was so sure you died, I never meant to hit you with my claymore. I'm beyond grateful that the creator protected you." Your earlier spiteful joy at her injuries melts into guilt at the caring way she was handling you.
Smiling sheepishly you pat her uninjured shoulder.
"If the creator wanted me to die by Beisht then I would accept that wholeheartedly. I'm sorry for worrying you and everyone else."
That small petty part of you wanted to bring up how this all could have been avoided by just not provoking Beisht since they didn't know she was looking for you. But maybe you'll do that when everyone isn't injured.
"I'm not sure whether to applaud you or scold you for doing something so reckless but I think that would be counterproductive at this point."
Beidou shakes her head as she speaks before sighing. Turning back to her crew and friends her voice rises above the murmur of everyone else's conversation.
"Listen up everyone! Beisht has fled this area, but we can always be attacked at a later date. Get inside, rest up, and prepare to arrive at Liyue tomorrow morning!"
Multiple "Yes, Captain!" can be heard directly after her words before they scatter to various activities. You still need to talk to Beidou but she beats you to it.
"Y/N, I need to speak to you about the situation with Beisht. I'll get cleaned up in the medical bay and meet you at the head of the ship."
You nod and head to where she was pointing. Kazuha, Xiangling, and Xinyan follow Beidou to the medical bay. Would they be a part of whatever conversation Beidou wants to have with you?
Swinging your legs as you sit on the edge of the boat, the calm waves draw your gaze. What will Beidou tell you? What lies will you spin to protect yourself?
It's the thumps of footsteps behind you that alert you to Beidou's arrival. With a friendly smile directed at her, you suppress the urge to laugh at the feeling of eyes on you.
Xiangling is most likely in the kitchen as Guoba is nowhere to be seen. Kazuha and Xinyan on the other hand may have been instructed to watch or listen while hiding.
You already knew your stunt may have bad consequences if you aren't careful but you didn't think Beidou would make your job so easy. After all, the more people that hear this conversation, the farther your reputation will spread.
"Hope you didn't wait too long Y/N," Beidou speaks amiably as she strolls over to sit next to you. Her mood is hard to read with the way she smiles but you can still guess accurately.
"I'm all good, I would even say that the break was appreciated with how tired I was."
"Then let's not waste any more time. I'm not here to interrogate you as much as I'm here to explain myself. I put the Crux and you into a life-threatening situation and although everyone else knows exactly what can happen, you did not. I'm sorry about that."
Your feet hit the boat at a slow pace as you think about her words. Now that the anger and chaos of that situation has calmed down, you aren't nearly as annoyed. Not up to talking just yet, you simply nod.
Taking it in stride Beidou starts explaining.
"For the past few days, monsters and leylines have been unusual. The leylines are spawning in new areas with stronger enemies than usual. The behavior of the monsters is strange too. They wander around as if looking for something and the boss monsters have become less violent. It's worrying and on our way to Inazuma, I saw the ocean change. That's why I had Xinyan perform to draw attention."
Seems Beisht was right to guess that other monsters were becoming aware. Hilichurls may respawn but you aren't sure if another monster species that canonically don't regenerate will still be alive. You need to speak with the enemies most likely to recognize you.
"Seeing Beisht listen to you was shocking. I mean she has always been hostile towards people. I don't wanna push you to speak but I would like to know what happened."
"When I was forced onto the main deck to avoid being crushed by the boxes I saw a part of the battle. That's when I realized that I could understand Beisht and the creator ordered me to speak with her privately. Who am I to disobey? The conversation was enlightening, to say the least, and what you just told me has confirmed it."
Your dramatic and cryptic words confuse your listeners. Standing up and balancing on the edge of the boat you continue speaking.
"I have been granted a prophecy! Well more like a revelation of the current and future events. The creatures of Teyvat are exhibiting new behaviors due to the creator's will. Of course that doesn't mean we'll stop defeating them, just don't take it as some grand evil rising."
The nearly childlike joy you speak with only confuses Beidou further. She stands up and tries to hold your shoulder but you twirl away from the edge.
"When was the last time we saw sudden differences in behavior?" Your words are spoken with a carefree smile as you continue dancing away.
"That would be when the traveler arrived on Teyvat and leading to the awakening of acolytes of course!"
You playfully tug the white ahoge that sticks out from Kazuha's hiding spot. He doesn't even seem glum at being found so quickly.
"And why did that all start happening?"
The feeling of eyes watching you faded as Beidou moves closer to the spot you stood with spread arms. Xinyan wasn't here but that's fine, the story you've spun will be spread either way.
"Because the creator's return was starting to approach! It may be worrisome because the creatures may harm people more than they did before but that doesn't mean we can't celebrate that the creator is a step closer to coming back."
In reality, you just wanted more allies. Paraphrasing everything to fit the narrative that you desire was easy in this situation. Very few people could tell if you were lying or not after all. In fact, some would even-
"Agreed. At the same time this all has been happening, the wind had gotten stronger. It's crisp and clear, it has become more active in communication too."
Between your celebratory smile and Kazuha's serene expression, Beidou had nothing to refute with. Instead, a wide grin crosses her face and you stumble as she drags you and Kazuha down to the main deck.
"Then what are we waiting for?" Everyone's eyes are drawn to Beidou as she yells. "The creator is a step closer to coming back to Teyvat and we all witnessed it! So let's celebrate like we mean it!"
It's impressive how nearly all of them already grabbed a glass of beer and raised it at her words. Cheers were heard all around as they raised the glasses and drank cheerfully.
Beidou had already released you and Kazuha to grab her drinks. Your eyes linger on the bloodied bandage wrapped around her palm. It was still bleeding heavily.
A familiar tug on your clothes brings your attention down to Guoba.
"Lala? Lalala!"
You don't fight the caramel-colored panda as he drags you toward the kitchen. It also doesn't let you notice how Kazuha was reaching out to you before being dragged into a conversation.
Xiangling runs around the kitchen with a tired but bright smile as you are pulled in.
"Thank you Guoba for bringing Y/N here! You can have this spicy cornbread as a treat."
She's quick to place a plate of food on the table and return to cooking. The sight of Guoba's food reminds you of your last conversation with Xiangling.
Yeah, you aren't forgetting that for a long time.
"Sorry for calling you here after so much went on, I just had another favor to ask you. I was curious if you can bless food the same way the creator can."
Wasn't she the one who fought a leviathan, is still somewhat injured, and went straight to cooking??
"I've never tried to bless food before but I would be happy to try! What food exactly do you want me to bless?"
Blessing food the same way the creator does sounds a lot like how you would feed the characters in the game. The most likely method would be cooking the food yourself and seeing if it had any effects.
The only other way you could think of blessing food would be by putting some part of your body into it. Which would be disgusting and a pain to do so, so hopefully you just need to cook it.
"I want it for Beidou to heal her hand. It's bleeding pretty heavily and she needs it to use her weapon. I was thinking something easy like sticky honey roast."
"Then just leave it to me Xiangling, do you have the recipe?"
"Yep! Right here." She hands you a slightly charred paper before scurrying over to a pot that's almost boiling over. Would you need to cook this manually or just use a pot like in the game?
The recipe consisted of 3 meat, 2 carrots, and 2 sugar. Nothing else was written on it... How were you supposed to cook with only this?!
Sighing you take the ingrains as the young chef runs around the kitchen. With a lingering sense of unease, you drop the ingredients into the pot and light the fire.
You turn around to grab something to stir it and look back to see it cooked.
Standing there stunned, you look at the perfect sticky honey roast sitting innocently in the pot. Deciding to count your blessings, you serve it on a plate and confidently call it blessed food as you hand it to Beidou.
It works surprisingly well, the bandage is unwrapped to see the skin sewn back together and most likely repaired. Beidou whistles as she examines her hand.
"Gotta hand it to you kid, this is pretty impressive. I usually have to wait for the creater to come and heal me up or wait ages for it to get healed properly."
"This was all Xianglings idea, she deserves the praise. I'll be sure to tell her the good news." You leave as Beidou begins drinking faster with her healed hand.
So you basically never need to cook again, what luck! Would giving someone a fried egg, bring someone back to life? Or would it wake someone up from a concussion or coma? That would all depend on whether characters are dead or just passed out when their HP reaches 0.
Walking into the kitchen, Xiangling is busy putting the final touches on the feast she prepared.
"Got good news for you Xiangling. The blessed food worked and Beidou's hand doesn't even have a scar."
"That's great to hear! I was pretty worried she would have permanent damage or something. She always brushes her wounds off if they aren't life-threatening."
Xiangling pouts at the memory of Beidou's recklessness as you take the initiative to help her. The silence is nice but your thoughts keep wandering back to the human remains.
"Hey Xiangling, I've got a question for you but this might be the wrong time to ask." The look she sends you is one full of curiosity.
"What happened to the families of those you killed and made into food? Did they not get a burial, casket, or at least an urn?"
The expression she wears is a mixture of guilt and disgust.
"Blasphemous people like them do not deserve a funeral. They die and everyone will scorn them for betraying the creator. Most families disown that person or act like they were never part of their family."
She stays kneeling by the cart of food and Guoba trods over to her with his usual carefree attitude. She holds him close and speaks sadly.
"They do deserve punishment for what they did but I want to believe the creator would want them to perish with some good blooming from it. At least by cooking them, that person can help another life grow, and my cooking skill improve."
Each time you ask something like this whether it's Inazuma or Liyue, the situations are always so much worse than you thought. To think what you thought Xiangling did from some sick sense of worship, which isn't entirely false, was mostly born from her signature kindness.
Do you condemn her, comfort her, or encourage her?
"We may never know exactly what the creator thinks, all we can do is keep moving forward. For what it's worth, I don't think you're in the wrong. Your intentions are pure and it's not like your actions can make the situation any worse than it already is."
You bend down and place your hands on her shoulders. She looks up at you and smiles happier at your caring expression.
"Enough about that. Let's go bring these dishes out so we and everyone else can enjoy them. We should be celebrating after all!"
The prep she usually has comes back and she's pushing the cart as you follow behind her. Everyone cheers as Xiangling hands out food and people sit down.
Picking a plate of F/F, you sit on a crate next to Xinyan and Kazuha. Beidou seemed to disappear somewhere with Xiangling again.
The taste and texture are like nothing you've tasted before. Whatever she did to make your favorite food taste even better needed to be shared with you.
"Real happy with that dish aren't ya?" Xinyan comments as you basically inhaled everything but the plate.
"If this dish was meant to be savored then she shouldn't have made it taste this good."
Xinyan laughs at your words before continuing to eat the spicy food she has on her plate. By the overload of spices you can smell, it must be one of Xiangling's creations that Xinyan is so happy to try.
"Now that things have calmed down, I wanted to tell you that I loved your music! It was a bit worrisome with all the fire but I understand that you needed it for the battle."
"Aw, that's real nice to hear! Most of my performances tend to burn down the stage but rock 'n' roll is all about that kind of fire."
"Must have taken you a long time to learn how to use your instrument and vision without burning down everything."
Your comment is casual as you start eating one of the desserts Xiangling brought out. Alcohol is starting to be passed around, you aren't sure if you should drink or not.
"I practiced loads with people as the 'audience'. They all died during the test runs but it's fine since they were already known for being sacrilegious. Burning them to death as a sacrifice was the best thing they could hope for."
The dessert gets stuck in your throat at her words. Coughing a little, you keep your head down to avoid showing your face. Kazuha rubs your back trying to help you.
Was it a trend for pyro-vision women to tell you horrible things with complete ease?! First Xiangling with the cannabilism to Xinyan sacrificing people...
"That was legal, right? Do you still sacrifice people like that?" You struggle not to stutter and Kazuha is still watching you with that same worried expression.
"It is legal in Liyue with the right certifications. Not long ago you had that private concert with the burning of a few treasure hoarders if I remember correctly."
Xinyan nods in agreement at Kazuha's words.
Maybe you should stop being surprised and just expect everyone to have committed crimes like this. What's next? Brainwashing?
Kazuha and Xinyan continue to chat about whatever burning they may or may not have participated in as Xiangling comes over with some alcohol.
"Sorry to interrupt but I was wondering if any of you guys wanted some beer, rum, or grog. Grog is the lightest since it's just water and alcohol. I might just drink that since I just became old enough to drink."
"I'll just have a glass of beer, I have another concert tomorrow and the last thing I want is a hangover." Xinyan is quick to take a swing of the beer.
"I'll pass on the alcohol today, I drank enough yesterday." Kazuha glances at you as he speaks with a slightly nervous tone, no doubt remembering his behavior when he first met you.
"Could I have some rum? I wanna celebrate a lot after completing the first major mission from the creator." Discarding your previous thought of avoiding alcohol, you decided to drink to congratulate yourself for surviving this long.
Definitely not because you wanted a distraction from what you just heard from Xinyan. Nor of the idea that Liyue may be even harder to live in due to their dependency on Rex Lapis. That may or may not have also pushed them to be even more fanatic for the 'creator'.
The rum was sweet but it burned as it traveled down your throat. The strong liquor made your head spin for a split second. You're quickly coming to regret it.
"Hey, Kazuha? Can you watch over me as I drink? This rum is stronger than the drinks I'm used to."
You ask Kazuha with a flushed face as you rest on his shoulder. The lights shine down on you as everyone else is up enjoying themselves. As sweet as always, Kazuha smiles down at you and nods.
"I promise to watch over you. No harm will come to you especially as I don't plan on drinking a single drop."
Feeling reassured you thank him and continue drinking. The party is getting louder and messier with each drink given around.
Xinyan is singing and strumming her guitar as a good chunk of the crew sings along with her. Xiangling was passed out on a crate as her tolerance for it was still low. Beidou was the only one you couldn't see from your spot on Kazuha's shoulder.
"You're the work hard, play hard type huh?"
You sway a little as you jump in surprise at the voice so close to your ear. Kazuha peers around you at Beidou who was standing firmly despite the amount of liquor she already drank.
A feeling nags you that Beidou is still as sharp as ever. Someone who drinks as much as she does must have a high tolerance. The smell of alcohol is strong as she speaks.
"You didn't strike me like the type to drink rum, I would have thought you would go for a beer or just a single glass."
You follow her gaze to the multiple glasses next to you. It seems you drank a lot more than you initially planned.
"Don't look so disappointed Y/N! It's normal to want to relax with a good drink after such a long day. This is a celebration too. Let all your worries melt away."
She speaks with a cheer and your hazy mind makes you smile up at her. Your worries, anxiety, and general distrust of everything are the farthest thing in your mind.
The sharp smile Beidou sends Kazuha as he tightens his grip around your waist goes unnoticed. The weird tension that occurs is gone just as fast as it came and the liquor seems to hit you full force.
"I think I need to sleep, it's really hitting me now." Your head keeps falling onto his shoulder as you struggle to keep your eyes open.
"I'll escort you to your room Y/N-" "And I'll join you two with Xiangling, poor girl couldn't even handle the grog."
Kazuha's face is frozen in a smile as you drunkenly nod at Beidou. Xinyan who is still pretty sober waves at you all and you wave enthusiastically back.
Giggling as the room spins you let your body rest on Kazuha as he helps you down the stairs. Xiangling is thrown over Beidous shoulder as she follows you both down the stairs.
"If I ever let myself drink after this, I wanna drink with you next time Kazuha. Wouldn't it be fun?"
"That does sound nice, I'm sure the wind will have us meet again after this trip." Kazuha's voice can be barely heard through the fog in your mind. A crooked smile is on your face as you nod sleepily.
Fears of the future seem far away at this moment. The fear of coming across a statue of the seven and Zhongli appearing is like a distant memory. The mental image of saying the wrong thing, getting caught with the wrong group, and getting a torturous death is comparable to a dream.
As the urge to close your eyes gets stronger and harder to resist, you instinctively adjust your mask.
Your fragile and most important defense against a repeat of the Ei situation. Terror squeezes your heart as you realize just how dangerous this situation is.
All it takes is for Kazuha to remove the mask during your drunkenness. Whether it be out of curiosity of your face or kindness thinking it would be uncomfortable to sleep with it on.
Nothing you think, worry, fear, or do will matter after that. Despite the dismay, your eyes close as the urge to sleep overtakes you. With your consciousness drifting away and your body in the ronin's mercy.
I was really excited to post this chapter. Everyone's reaction to Xiangling's cooking was super funny. (Fixed it up on mobile so forgive the mistakes.) On the topic of Beisht, I have to say that my original plan was to have it be a oc. Haishan's ancestor from the Archon War. But after everyone was guessing Beisht, I started thinking if it could work. And surprisingly it did! All the main points I had with the oc worked with Beisht. Plus Haishan was still able to stay as a kid cause a visionless Beidou defeating a whole sea monster god just doesn't make a lot of sense unless he wasn't full-grown. And I honestly don't want to create an oc if I don't have to. I don't trust myself that much. Xiangling's cannibalism was supposed to be just a one-time thing. But a certain person mentioned Hu Tao and I realized I forgot to incorporate the rest of the world into it. So that's what inspired me to think deeper on it. I'm quite happy with how it turned out! It confirms Xianglings kindness, and the cruelty of the cult, and can help excuse any future plot holes I may accidentally create. So thank you certain person that I will not name in case that's uncomfy. I also wanted to ask ya'll a question. Do you guys expect certain sagau tropes from this series? Like I incorporated popular stuff like healing foods, mentions of gold blood, etc. But the only thing that I've really made set in stone in my sagau is the cult au and imposter au (without a true imposter masquerading as Y/N). I'm asking since I don't want people expecting something like a character to recognize us (like Fatui or acolytes from Khanriah -kaeya for example). Then get disappointed when I don't ever do that. Not saying I won't have interactions with those characters! I just don't want to lead anyone on. If you read this far then thank you <3. I really appreciate ya'll support. Just seeing a notification that I got a heart, comment, reblog or message makes my day. Is Gaming (Character) just light-skin boy Xinyan? Cuz I think they'd make good friends ✨
Imagining an opera with Xinyan performing the live music to babe's (Yunjin) singing, while Ga-ming gets to intertwine his wushou routines into the show, with catering from Wanmin 🖤
Also, is he the hybrid pyro/physical DPS we've been waiting for to make Xinyan teams work? Cuz guess what I'm gonna do with him (◕ᴗ◕✿)

"Tell us what we want to know, or he gets it." - Genshin Girls x Male!Reader
A/N: Trying a new format today - let me know if you would like to see more. Also, Reader is always the same species as the character in the pairing, ex.: Miko and a Kitsune Reader. Another thing, characters distinguished with color are those that would definetely act as described. Just thought I'd clear this up since many authors leave their readers guessing. Anyway, enjoy! CW: Angst, light whump. Mentions of torture without graphic descriptions, reader death.
Tumblr media
She has been captured, and the enemy demands information. Before long, however, she sees you - opposite her and in the same chains...
Tumblr media
Cracks Immediately
To be honest, they would have broken even without seeing you in danger. Though there are exceptions, most people - just like them - could not hold out under torture. It’s not a reason to be ashamed - especially if it results in not a hair falling from your head. The situation was distressing enough on its own, but with you she falls into a desperate panic. Whatever needs to be said to keep you safe, she’ll say - even if it will have consequences. As soon as she can, she will hug you tightly, never wanting to let go again. You’re her world, and her heart would fall to pieces if anything happened to you.
“Wait! I’ll tell you everything, j-just don’t hurt him!”
Characters: Furina, Noelle, Xiangling, Collei, Nilou, Sucrose, Fischl, Ganyu, Yoimiya, Kirara, Barbara, Xinyan, Yanfei, Yun Jin, Collei, Layla.
It's A Dealbreaker
Gritting their teeth and powering through torture, or at least trying to - that's what they did before you were introduced into the equation. They have secrets and ideas that they will protect with their life, but not yours. Never yours. They could never forgive themselves if they were the reason you suffered. But all of this, it's your fault. If you weren't so lovely, kind and caring, she would keep her lips sealed. Regardless, you're one weakness she doesn't mind.
“Ugh… Fine. I’ll talk, but keep your filthy hands off him.”
Characters: Emilie, Rosaria, Chiori, Beidou, Hu Tao, Ayaka, Shinobu, Mualani, Faruzan, Charlotte, Yae Miko.
They Can't Take It...
She is strong. She will endure whatever they throw at her. Even when they threaten you. She will look in your eyes and see mutual resolve. You can do it, both of you, she thinks. Except not. Even if you stay strong, she won't. She'll crumble. Screams, blood, tears, agony inflicted on you thanks to her. What has she done? You don't deserve it, you don't deserve anything else but love and comfort, not being made to suffer. She'll put a halt to it, she'll run to you and take your broken body in her arms. She'll tell you that it's okay, it's okay, I'm here. They won't hurt you any more.
“Stop! Stop, please! I’ll talk! Don’t you see he’s had enough?! Please…”
Characters: Amber, Lisa, Keqing, Shenhe, Kokomi, Ei, Kujou Sara, Candace, Lynette, Navia, Chevreuse, Chasca, Xilonen.
Standing Her Ground
This one knows what and who she's protecting. If what she knows falls into the wrong hands, hundreds could die. Surely you understand…? It's not right for you to be tangled into all of this. She's sorry, she really is, but she can't say anything. That doesn't mean she won't break down at the sight, that her very soul isn't pierced by every scream leaving your lips. Long after it's over, she won't be able to look you in the eyes with anything but shame. She did the right thing - she saved lives. But how can she feel any satisfaction when it’s you who paid the price? No matter if you forgive her or see no offense in her choice, your blood has been smeared across her mind and your pain will haunt her dreams until her last day. But whatever it may take, she will not let it happen again. Ever.
"I'm sorry, my love... I'm so sorry..."

Until Death Does Us Apart
Only when the last breath leaves your body does she shed tears. She kept her resolve strong. For you. Seeing her suffer would worsen your agony, filling your last moments with absolute despair. But she held out, allowing the sight of her features to guide you to your deserved rest. She will not ask for forgiveness, for there is nothing to forgive for - she did the right thing, kept to the word you’ve sworn. As a rose’s petals, her lips were sealed - and so were yours. You protected your people, your children, your nation. Although she does not have the power to bring back what they’ve taken, she will make sure the vengeance goes down in history. When the bodies of your killers turn cold, she will exile the weak and raze every yard of their home, pouring salt on the scorched earth so nothing may grow there again. Only then, when justice has been served, will she allow herself to mourn. Regardless of whether she comes back or crumbles in the mind, she will do so knowing that she did what she could for you.
Raiden Shogun: “A stalwart companion, to the last. You will pay his weight with blood, I will see to that.” Arlecchino: “You have left many orphaned today, Y/N. We will mourn your departure dearly. Rest well - know that o-our children are safe, my husband…” Ningguang: “You didn’t deserve this… Not in any world or by any design of the stars… Forgive me for loving you, Y/N. You would live no if not for me... I will make sure your sacrifice does not go in vain… I p-promise, Y/N.”

Part VI
BSD Characters: Self-Aware! Teruko Okura, Self-Aware! Fyodor Dostoevsky, Self-Aware! Howard Philips Lovecraft
Genshin Impact characters: Liyue Characters
Reader: Fem! Adult! Reader
Warning: English is my second language
🐙 Your "adventure" has started at the top of one of the cliffs in Guyun Stone Forest. It took some time for you to get down. The cliff were slippery (either because of the sea or, perhaps, it was raining right before you got here), so, you tried to be careful. At the end, when you almost fall down, Lovecraft partly transformed (with his hands and legs are now replaced with tentacles) and simply crawl down, holding you, Teruko and Fyodor. You only hopped, that no one saw you. Transformed Lovecraft (even partly) was a strange, if not a frightening sight (for strangers).
And you jinxed it. Sailors from the Crux saw Lovecraft. And were thinking, that Osial got from his prison.
Crux left for the Harbor to get help.
While you and your friends trying to understand, what happened and how you got here.
🐾 Despite the fact, that you were knowledgeable about Teyvat, the situation didn't become clear. But, at least, you have a project of a plan. Go to Sumeru and ask Nahida for help. Maybe, she could give you some information on how to get home.
That's when a first stone spear fall from above.
If it wasn't for Lovecraft's strength, the spear would crush you.
Geo Archon's voice shake the ground.
"Osial! How dare you to show yourself! I will make you pay for daring to enter Her Holiness' land!"
Suddenly, everything became silent. Up above, you saw them. Zhongli... no, Rex Lapis and Adepti. For some reason... Xiao looked hesitant.
And golden draconic eyes stared right at you.
Next spear was directed at you.
"IMPOSTER! DIRTY SINNER! PAY FOR HEARSAY WITH YOUR LIFE!"
And hell broke loose.
Morax, Adepti, Mililith and Crux crew attacked.
👧👩🧓🐙🐁Teruko, with her ability and sword, and fully transformed Lovecraft were keeping mililith away, while Fyodor was staying near you, ready to use his ability, if someone get too close.
When Lovecraft saw the opportunity, he grabbed you three with his tentacles, and plunge into the sea, swimming away.
On his way, he sunk Crux ship.
Beidou's curses were heard for long time and far away from the Stone Forest.
🐾 You returned to land somewhere in Bishui Plain. All of you were wet, hungry and exhausted. You found an abandoned hilichurl camp and decided to stay here for the night. After some grilled fish for dinner, you fall asleep in one of the huts. Teruko was the first one to stay on watch. Then you. Then Fyodor. And, finally, Lovecraft.
You woke up because someone was pocking your cheek and because of some tasty smell.
When you open your eyes, you came face to face with Gouba, who was pocking your cheek, and Lovecraft, who was keeping an eye on "panda".
Lovecraft tilted his head.
"We have guests. And breakfast."
🐾 Xiangling and Gouba were gathering ingredients for some big feast, while Xinyan, Chongyun and Xingqiu were helping them. That's when they found "your" camp.
And decided to help you.
When Lovecraft and Gouba, with you in tow, left the hut, you saw, that Fyodor and Teruko were already up and sitting near campfire, with Liyue Team. And then, Chongyun saw you. Exorcist particularly jumped.
"You! Your energy... It's pure... I knew, I knew, she was fake! I told you many times about it!" Last part, Chongyun hissed through his teeth, looking at Xingqiu. He raised his hands in defense.
"I knew, but.. We can't do much against her."
You glance at Lovecraft, then at Teruko and Fyodor. While Fyodor does look like he understands more, than the rest of you, he still looked confused.
🐾You got your answers during breakfast. Apparently, you looked like Creator Goodness, that rules Teyvat. And, apparently, because of that, most people will hate you and try to capture you. And, maybe, because Ningguang already placed a bounty on your head.
And Creator's political power is enormous, so, people would be afraid to help you.
The situation was bad... Awful...
Suddenly, Xinyan almost shouted.
"Doctor Baizhu and Qiqi! You can hide in Bubu's Pharmacy! They managed to keep it closed from sudden checks from Mililith, because they would bother patients!"
Teruko raised an eyebrow.
"And how we will get here? It's in the harbor, right? We would be attacked."
Xiangling smiles.
"With two little helpers."
🐁 Yaoyao was a great tour guide. And, what was most important, she knew, where to find Qiqi, when she was picking up herbs.
Yaoyao also was very talkative. And, because she overheard, how Fyodor was mumbling in Russian, she couldn't leave him alone. She asked him to say names of everything around her in "strange new language". Fyodor answered her questions. Soon Teruko joined the "educational program." Chongyun, who was staying near you, "masking your energy" with his yang energy. Lovecraft was last in line.
When you found Qiqi, with some help from Yaoyao, she took you to Dr. Baizhu.
For some reason, Qiqi stayed close to Lovecraft.
🐾 You were lucky again, because Baizhu let you four stay, until madness calmed down.
For two weeks, everything was fine. You and Fyodor helped in Pharmacy, Lovecraft and Teruko helped with picking up herbs.
You managed to meet Yun Jin and Gaming. Both of them believed, that you didn't do anything wrong. They even offered to help you, if they could.
And then, a scared Xingqiu appeared in Bubu Pharmacy.
Ningguang and Rex Lapis were ready to look through every house in Liyue to find "dirty imposter".
And if people resist? Well, they will face the wrath of rock.
And, currently, they doubled the number of mililith soldiers on streets.
Fyodor remained calm.
"I have a plan. Can you call for Yun Jin and Gaming?"
🐾 You four were leaving Liyue. But you still can hear sounds of music, coming from the harbor.
Opera and Wushou dance. The destruction.
That got the attention of mortals.
But not Geo Archon's.
🐾 His draconic claws were squeezing your arm. His spear were aimed directly at your chest.
Teruko, Fyodor and Lovecraft were helpless.
They can't attack him, he will kill you.
They can't kill him. You have told them about Havria.
Morax bared his fangs.
A finch flew closer to you and Morax.
Animo swirls.
Morax pained roar.
And Xiao, whose spear was plunges deep in Morax's shoulder.
"Run, Your Grace!" Xiao grind his teeth, trying to keep his hold on a spear.
Lovecraft grabbed you.
You four start running away.
Up in the sky, you noticed familiar cranes. They ignored you. Flying to where Xiao and Morax were.
Tonight, Adepti were fighting Geo Archon.
_____
🐾 When you finally returned to the real world, and discover the portal, you asked BSD Cast to rescue some people.
They helped you four, despite, how dangerous it was. And you must help them in return.
