Being in a poly relationship with Xdinary Heroes would be quite eventful. From all the music to the kisses, the cuddles, the dinners, the dates, the fun, and everything else. You would simply never have a second to yourself, one of your lovely boyfriends would always be beside you. Whether it be playing games with Jooyeon, cooking with Junhan, singing with Jungsu, watching movies with Gaon, shopping with O.De, or having random photo sessions with Gunil, you know you’ll never be alone or bored. 

Days at home with all 6 of them would be nice. O.De and Jungsu would have prepared matching outfits for everyone, the outfits could range from pajamas to something fit for the red carpet. Junhan and you (if you know your way around the kitchen) would prepare the food, some days it was expensive food while others it was cup noodles, it all depended on the energy of everyone and the theme for the night. Gunil would have bought snacks, he always buys too much but he just wanted to make sure that there was enough for everyone and something that everyone liked. Gaon was always in charge of choosing either the movie, the drama, or the music for the night. Jooyeon was, in a way, in charge of the mood, his energy set the pace for the night, if he was sad the mood was sullen, if he was excited and happy (like most days) then the mood was bright and fun. 

While Junhan is the calmest of the bunch, he is still very committed to the relationship. He might not be loud and clingy like Jooyeon or Gaon, but he compensated for that with his calmness and his attentiveness. Junhan always made sure to stay by the others’ sides, so that no one had to be alone. He memorized everyone’s favorite dishes and cooked them at least once every two weeks, and if someone didn’t like a certain component of a dish like a vegetable Junhan made sure to not include it in the food. Everyone appreciated his efforts and understood that he did these things because he loved the others, so he might not be the one to hug all the time but he has his ways of showing his love. 

O.De is always ready to go shopping or just relax and watch a movie. He always wants to do whatever would make his partners happy, if that means doing something he doesn’t really like he would still do it. O.De and Jungsu are the fashionistas of the group and they love coming up with matching outfits for everyone, while some people think it’s corny and stupid these two thought it was cute so therefore the rest of the partners did too. If you have long hair, O.De would love to play with it. Brushing it, running his hands through it, and he would practice on Jooyeon’s hair to learn how to do braids and cute hairstyles for you. 

Jungsu, as previously mentioned, puts together matching outfits for the group with O.De. He will also serenade you all, every day. He will 100% dance with you if you like to dance. Just say “Jungsu can we dance [insert dance]?” And he will already have pressed play and begun dancing. Jungsu will also, 100%, be one to tease the younger members by pinching their cheeks and saying that they look cute, and he will do that to you too (even if you’re older than him). Junhan and O.De will find it annoying, but let him do it just because they know Jungsu likes doing it. 

Gunil will be clinging to one of you all the time. If you see Gunil on his own, he’s either 1. out buying snacks for the group or, 2. his partners have hidden away from him to have a minute of personal space. He will be hugging, kissing, holding, and just touching his partners in any way that he can as often as he can. He will just like Junhan, have his partners’ favorite snacks memorized and he will make sure that those snacks are always available in the apartment. If you’re in the car and you’re tired, Gunil will gently lean your head against his shoulder and tell you to sleep. 

Jooyeon has a lot of energy to put it lightly, but he also knows exactly how to use it. He will drag all of you along with him to play soccer and/or basketball or other games, really anything that allows him to use up some energy. Clingy member #2. Jooyeon will, just like Gunil, hug and kiss his partners all the time. Jooyeon will become sulky if he goes 2 minutes without being close to his beloved partners. He’s the mood-maker of the group so as said earlier, if he’s happy, the group is happy, if he’s sad, the group is sad. When Jooyeon and Gaon are in their mischievous mood, you know there’s going to be trouble. You never know what they’re going to do, one time it was dying Gunil’s hair, another time the rest of you came home to the apartment full of bouncy balls. In short, it’s never a boring moment with them around. 

Gaon as just mentioned, is one of the two troublemakers. He is also teaser #1. Jungsu may tease the younger members and you, Gaon teases everyone. It might be teasing touches or words, it’s loving, but he teases a lot. He’s still very loving, he makes sure everyone drinks enough water, and Gaon, just like O.De, is always up to chill and watch a movie. Whatever you wanna see, he’ll watch. Gaon is always really eager to show his partners whenever he comes up with something he can use for a new song or just play guitar to accompany Jungsu’s singing. Clingy member #3. Gaon is another one who will latch on to one of his partners and not let go, it’s part of his teasing, especially toward Junhan who isn’t the most touchy person. He does it with love though, Gunil and Jooyeon don’t mind it so sometimes those three end up in a cuddling pile with or without you and the others. 

So to sum it up. There would be a lot of cuddling, kissing, hand-holding, eating, laughing, and shopping.

We’re not going to go full on how the sex would be, however, we’re going to be bringing up some things. 

There would be times when the intimate moments happen between you and just one of them, other times it’s two or three of them and you, or finally, all of them and you. The times with just one of them would be the most hectic, you might think otherwise, but when it’s just one of them and you, there is more room for experimenting. When it’s all of them, they’re all too worried about overwhelming or hurting you so it’s mostly on the softer side, with a lot of aftercare cuddles. When it’s just two or three of them and you, it depends on who it is. 

Gunil + Gaon and/or O.De = oftentimes, on the harder side. These three like to experiment, also, Gaon so has a marking kink - he leaves a lot of hickeys on his partners, especially on you. Gunil has a bit of a domination kink, he likes bossing others around, while both Gaon and O.De are more on the dominant side too, they rarely ever go above Gunil unless Gunil allows it. 

Jungsu + Junhan = soft, worshipping sex. These two will do everything they can to please you. They will treat you like a god/goddess. 

Jooyeon is a bit of a joker, it depends on who he is with. As said earlier, he has a lot of energy. So, the man can go for a long time. If he’s paired up with Gaon, expect a lot of teasing, and for things to be on the harder side. If he’s paired up with Gunil, he’s going to be on the submissive side and softer. Jooyeon + Jungsu and/or Junhan will be on the softer side however with them he can take on a more dominant role. Jooyeon + O.De = teasing, mixes of hard and soft, overstimulation, and much more. In this dynamic, Jooyeon is on the submissive side but he can sometimes take on a more dominant role depending on O.De’s mood. 

And as mentioned earlier, sex with all of them will be very soft. Kind of how it is when it’s only Jungsu or Junhan or the two of them together. There’s going to be a lot of kisses and soft touches. Massages and comforting words. Praise to the maximum.

The corridors had never seemed so short, so prone to make him think, to hesitate, to turn a walk into a struggle between bravely facing the possibility of defeat or avoiding unnecessary disappointment.

It was a reaction as bad as it was unconscious, his mind tended to turn against him in moments where his mental and emotional stability was essential, his friends told him it was a natural reaction, just harmless nerves, but Jiseok perceived it differently. Jiseok was not afraid, Jiseok had limits and sometimes struggled to hide them.

The ringing of his cell phone alerting him to a new message brought him out of his dark hole of thoughts, it was yours. He read it like a child rummaging through the unfamiliar letters on his birth certificate to find out where it came from.

Talent. That word had always made him nervous. Naturally, Jiseok wasn't talented at any of the things people said he was talented at. He had always had to try harder than others, even in small things, to understand a class topic, to be socially "adept", to hit the right notes for a song that his friends could do without much difficulty, or to play that basic guitar solo that anyone without knowledge of the instrument would call a skill not of the average population. No, there was nothing extraordinary about it. Jiseok could be a student and a talented artist under an ignorant gaze, but the truth is that if Jiseok had to be, truly and objectively, talented in something, that born and natural ability that distinguished between talent and forced success, was effort.

He was good at trying hard, that's all; and if he had to ask himself which carried more weight between talent and effort, he would know that he would not like the answer. So when Jiseok arrived at his destination without a clear plan about himself and what he had to show for it, he thought that he might have to use his talent to the last drop because he didn't want to show the world anything mediocre.

“if you poke me one more time i’m going to bite your finger off.” you admit as you turn to your best friend, jiseok.

there he stood, a not-so-innocent smile spread across his lips as he paused mid-poke. “i’m not going to stop poking you until you give me some attention.”

you swat his hand away before going back to finishing off your makeup, laughing as you hear him dramatically huff and walk towards your bed. in the mirror you can see him sit on your bed, plopping down next to your laid out outfit and watching you like a hawk. “the quicker i get ready, the faster i can give you my undivided attention until i leave.”

crossing his legs on the bed, she leans back against the bed frame and runs a hand through his hair. “where are you even going anyway?”

“a date.” admitting that to your longtime crush hurt more than anything, but if only you could see the way his face dropped as you spoke those words.

both of you have had feelings for one another for quite some time, but never admitting it due to having convinced yourselves it was merely impossible for the other to reciprocate those feelings. after several years of just waiting around for jiseok to ask you out and you being too scared to actually do something about it, you just decided putting yourself out there would be your safest bet to ignore your feelings for him. meanwhile, jiseok had been too scared to even do something due to possibly messing up your friendship. he adored you, everything about you seemingly flawless in his eyes. your feelings towards one another were obvious to everyone but each other, and everyone watching this unravel felt like they were reading a slow burn fanfic off of wattpad.

jiseok disguised his voice to sound as uninterested and teasing as possible before responding. “who’s the guy?”

as you close up the mascara wand, you quickly stand up from your vanity and start grabbing your clothes to change into the bathroom. “some guy from my physics class.”

as he catches the glimpse of your face before you turn into the bathroom, he feels his heart skip multiple beats at the sight of you. ever since he realized his feelings for you a few months back, he’s been finding himself swooning over you for the most basic things. and as much as the feeling confused him, he just couldn’t get enough of it. when you exit the bathroom after fifteen minutes, your hair freshly done and clothing looking brand new, he can’t help but stare at you. normally, he would watch how he looked at you so as to not give a hint of his feelings towards you away. but in this moment, he didn’t seem to care one bit.

looking at yourself in the full length mirror first, you don’t even notice the way your best friend is staring at you. in your mind, you secretly wished it were jiseok taking you out on this arcade date instead of your classmate. but you tried pushing that aside, attempting to convince yourself to be excited. when you turn around to face your best friend for confirmation on how you look, you can’t help but feel yourself blush at the sight before you. you had never seen his eyes light up this way before, well, maybe at a concert or video game but never towards another individual- especially you.

letting out shy laughter, you snap your fingers in the direction of where his eyes landed and watch as his eyes meet yours. the reddened tips of his ears make you laugh harder, his embarrassed grin poking at the corners of his lips. “it’s okay, you can admit it. you are totally in love with me right now.”

standing up, he walks towards you slowly as he chuckles. “and if i am?”

you cock your head to the side in confusion, unsure of what he meant. surely he had to be joking. he couldn’t be serious, right? giggling at his comment, you notice him stop a few feet away from you as his eyes never leave yours. “stop joking, jiseok.”

“i’m serious, y/n.” was he really doing this? now? just forty minutes before your date? “i have been for a while now. just- please don’t go on that date. i know the timing isn’t perfect but-“

grabbing your best friend by the collar, you pull him into your lips without hesitation. although shocked by your actions, he wastes no time kissing you back and landing his hands on your hips. his nails waste no time digging into your skin, pushing your hips against his as your hands move from his shirt collar to the back of his neck. as your fingertips played with the strands of his growing hair, jiseok pins you against your bedroom door. gasping at the sudden movement, you soon feel jiseok slip his tongue past your lips and swipe it against yours.

before anything escalates further, you pull away to regulate your breathing. without a word, you both just stare at one another star struck. his eyes go from your eyes to your lips every so often, leaning in but pausing as his lips hover above yours. “is this okay?”

you feel him cup your face, his other hand remaining on your hip but moving underneath the fabric. nodding, you pull away to get a full view of his face. for a few seconds you admire how he looks, his eyes hungry and lips plumped and wet. the view makes your stomach do flips, a smile spreading across your lips. “more than okay.”

as his lips finds yours once again, his hand moves down your body and lifts you up by your legs. you giggle against his lips, his laughter matching yours as he moves towards the bed. gently, he sets you down on your back so he’s hovering above you.

suddenly, he pulls away and admires you for a few seconds before speaking. “wait, what about your date?”

up until this point, you have completely forgotten about the date you were supposed to go on. your eyes dart to the clock on your nightstand, noticing he was supposed to arrive in a little over ten minutes. “pass me my phone.” you demand, jiseok doing as instructed and handing it to you. watching you do something on your phone, you soon set the phone to the side and turn back to him with a smile. “problem solved.”

laughing, he happily leans down to place his lips on yours. even though you both have only been kissing for a few minutes, he could tell this was about to become his new favorite activity.

A Little Bit of Chemistry

It wasn’t that you were bad at chemistry. You wanted to get that clear right off the bat. You were fine at chemistry; it was just that this professor was an absolute asshole. All he did was complain that his students kept failing his exams, but he wasn’t ever teaching you what to do. You would go to class, you would take notes, you would study said notes, and somehow you always failed his quizzes because none of the content was anywhere in your notes.

You hated to admit defeat and go to a tutor. You weren’t stupid, you were just a victim of bad teaching. But finally, you realized that if you didn’t get someone else’s input (preferably from someone who had passed the class), you were going to have to take the class again, and you just couldn’t do that. You refused to sit through another semester of this professors horrible test-making.

You had asked the professor if he could recommend you a past student who might be willing to help you with studying and he had been quick to mention a boy named Jiseok who had passed the class next semester. He gave you his school email address and seemed very excited that a student was working towards passing his course. Whatever, he was the one who made everyone fail anyway.

You had emailed him last week and he had quickly agreed to help you study for the chemistry class. Apparently he was a chem major and was always excited to talk about his passion and help others understand the arguably difficult topic. You agreed on a time and place to meet up to begin working.

Before you know it, it’s the day you are meeting with this mystery boy at the library. You grab your chem stuff and begin the trek up to the large building. You wait in the entryway for a moment, realizing you didn’t ask where in the building you were going to meet. He had said he would book out a study room for you both to have a bit of privacy, but you don’t know which one he had booked.

As you stand there, looking around for the boy that you’ve never seen before, you feel a hand tap against your shoulder. You turn around to come face-to-face with a smiling boy with shoulder-length black hair, his eyes crinkled up with his grin.

“You must be (Y/N), right? I’m Jiseok!” His voice is lilting and upbeat, exactly as you would have expected based off his happy demeanor. He looks like a happy puppy, excited and bouncing with energy. “I got us a study room so we can go work on your studying!” He points towards the back of the library, where the study rooms and computers are located.

He begins to walk in that direction, smiling back over his shoulder as he checks that you’re following along with his stride. You quickly start after him, taking long strides to catch up with him so you weren’t following at some uncomfortable distance. As you reach the study room, Jiseok pulls out a key and unlocks the door, stepping inside to hold it open for you. Inside is a small table with three chairs around it. On one wall is a whiteboard with markers and an eraser so that students can work together.

You slip past him through the doorway, thanking him as you set your stuff down onto one of the chairs. He closes the door and plops himself down onto the edge of the table, crossing his leg under the other that’s dangling over the edge.

“So, what exactly are you learning right now?”

You spent the whole two hour session letting him know where you are content-wise in the class. You tell him your problems so far and how everyone seems to be struggling but that you think the professor doesn’t want to change anything even though he’s obviously the reason you’re failing. You let him know what you know and that in every previous test had nothing gone over in class. At this, Jiseok laughs.

“Oh yeah, Mr. Donaghue is horrible at making tests that actually meet with what he’s teaching. That happened with my class too. Since your class is still on the periodic table stuff, your next test will likely be on atomic structure. He somehow always assumes that students make that next jump on their own, and they never do.” He quickly pulls out papers and his laptop, flipping it open quickly and typing hectically on the keyboard right away.

You sit and stare at the boy before you, blinking for a moment before you chuckle softly to yourself.

He doesn’t pause his typing, but he looks up at you with a small smile. “What?”

“You’re kinda amazing.” You laugh, shaking your head. “You just remember all of this and know exactly how to help. What are the chances I found the only person who could manage to help me ace this class with just a simple question to Mr Donaghue?”

Jiseok smiles even wider, his eyes sparkling at you obvious content at him as a tutor already.

“Maybe you’re just lucky.” He grins, ducking his head back behind his laptop as he keeps searching. Finally, he turns his screen around so that you can see it as he shows you some sort of powerpoint presentation. “So, I’ll go over some of the basics, and then I have some worksheets and problems to see how much more detail I need to give you.”

You ended up loving to spend time with Jiseok. You liked chemistry before, but the way he taught it made it feel so much more fun. He always made jokes to help some content stick, or he would create problems that had impossible situations or ideas hidden within them. He smiled every time he saw you and always wished you an amazing day when you two went your separate ways after a study session. You could almost call him a friend; you never hung out outside of your study sessions, but you looked forward to your study sessions, and part of you was interested in interacting with him in a more relaxed and fun environment.

So, one day, you decided to invite him to hang out with your friends. You were throwing a small party, which was just a couple people having food and watching stupid movies, but you thought he might be interested. He was always laughing and making jokes with you, and he hadn’t been shy when you first met each other. You were hoping he would respond positively, even if he might be a little unsure at first.

What you weren’t expecting was to watch his face drop. He had been smiling, ready to start talking about the newest topic after you passed your last exam, when you’d interrupted to extend the offer. His smile slid from his face, almost comically, and his eyes visually shuttered. He paused for a moment, his mouth hanging open, before he snapped back to a smile, although it didn’t reach his eyes again.

“Oh, I’m sorry, I have to study for an exam the next day, so I’ll be busy. Maybe next time though!” He grins at you, throwing in a sheepish shrug when you really look at him for a second.

You try not to think too much of it and you smile back, although your eyebrows stay furrowed as you look down at your notebook as you flip to a blank page to prepare to take notes on what he teaches you today.

It doesn’t hit you until you get back to your dorm that you hadn’t gotten to tell him the date of the party, so he didn’t even know when you were inviting him over.

The next time you began to raise your eyebrows at Jiseok’s behavior was when you managed to run into him on campus. Before that, you hadn’t seen him anywhere on campus; you almost thought that he wasn’t really a student. You were always on campus with friends, doing work, or just getting some exercise, and you had never seen him anywhere. However, the day before a major test, you were walking around campus to destress from studying on your own in your dorm and you saw Jiseok sitting with a few people you assume are his friends.

At first, you weren’t going to approach, because you thought he might want to spend time with his friends and you didn’t want to bother him. But then you remembered that you wanted to get to know him, and you thought that this would be a nice way to break the ice between you two and your study-only relationship. So you took a breath to calm yourself and you stepped up to their table, smiling down at Jiseok.

“Hey, Jiseok! How are you?” You try to sound chipper and surprised to see him. His head whips around to look at you, mouth opening and closing for a second as his eyes nearly bulge from his head.

“Um, hey.” He says, turning and looking at his friends quickly, obviously awkward about the situation. You stand there for a moment, looking at his friends. One is looking at him with a look of disapproval, another is chuckling behind his hand, while the last is looking at you, pityingly and kind.

You stand for what feels like an eternity with Jiseok not looking at you. Finally you clear your throat, mumbling a “goodbye”, and rushing off, holding your notebooks closer to your chest as you turn away.

You can’t believe you made such a fool of yourself. You wanted to be mad at Jiseok for treating you like he had never seen you before. You wanted to scream and cry about how he let you flounder there in front of his friends when all you did was say hello. You wanted to be so angry about his dismissal of you like he didn’t want to recognize that he knew you when you so obviously knew him. But instead of all that, you hated yourself for thinking that it was a good idea to approach him. That he would accept your random friendship when you were just some stupid student who needed help with chemistry. You weren’t friends. You didn’t really know each other. You felt absolutely idiotic for thinking that this was a good idea. You never wanted to show your face on campus ever again. You never wanted to see Jiseok again.

But you had a study session with him tomorrow.

You almost cancelled your session. You almost texted him and told him not to worry about meeting. That you would just figure out the last two months of class on your own. That you weren’t worried anymore and that he had helped plenty, thank you, you were finally a chemistry master.

But you knew that wasn’t going to help anything. While you were tired just thinking about having to interact with Jiseok after that super awkward interaction with his friends, you needed his help. Another quiz was coming up in a couple weeks and you needed to practice what only he knew was on it.

You arrived just on time to your session, in the same room as you always meet in. Jiseok was sitting in the room already, his laptop and notebook open before him, texting vigorously on his phone. As you open the door, he quickly locks his phone and places it face down on the table. He looks up to you with a wide smile on his face.

“Hey, (Y/N)! How have you been?” He’s got that giant smile on his face that always makes you feel like the coolest person in the world— like you had done something amazing by just existing.

And that smile alone destroyed your mental fortitude.

You drop your backpack onto the table and cross your arms. How dare he. Acting like he didn’t complete embarrass you in front of his friends yesterday, like it wasn’t the worst possible option from the interaction, like he didn’t act like he didn’t know you when you were out in public. You hadn’t done anything to him, so you needed to know why he felt the need to treat you the way he did.

“Why did you treat me like that?” You ask, voice coming out much smaller than you meant it. His smile falls from his face, his eyes wide, mouth agape.

He gulps and blinks at you. “What?”

“Are you embarrassed to be seen with your stupid little tutor case? Is that what happened? All I did was say hello. Do you not want to be seen with me? Huh?” He stares at you as your voice rises, you can feel your face getting hot, but you don’t care. You need to get this off your chest. You need to know. He doesn’t respond and you repeat yourself. “Are you embarrassed to be with me?”

You finally stop, breathing heavily as you feel the emotions boiling in your blood. When Jiseok doesn’t respond at first, you groan loudly, spinning to face away from him and dragging your hands over your face. You hear him shift, but you don’t look at him. You can’t, because if he keeps looking at you with those sad, scared eyes, you might just combust into anger again, and you want to compose yourself again.

“I’m not embarrassed by you. I was embarrassed- I am embarrassed about how I feel when we are together, and I- I was afraid...” His voice is quiet, gentle, soft, you almost don’t hear him. You pause, back straightening at the response you weren’t expecting.

“A-about... how you feel?” You whisper back, staring at the wall before you, afraid to turn around and scare him off. Maybe, if you don’t look at him, he might continue to confess to you, explain what happened.

“I’m afraid others will know. That they’ll figure it out because I’m not sure if I’m ready to do anything about it. I like how our little tutor sessions are. I’m not ready to change anything about that yet. Because, I’m such a coward, and I’m afraid.” He sounds choked off and you turn quickly, throwing caution to the wind.

His eyes are staring at his hands in his lap, like he knew you were looking at him and he couldn’t meet your eyes. His hands wrung in his lap, his body shaking lightly like he was afraid of something. Afraid of you learning this about him.

“What do you feel, Jiseok?” You don’t know why your voice won’t get louder than a whisper, like you were afraid that he would run away or shut down if you spoke too loud.

He raises his eyes to yours, shining and wide like a sad puppy. He blinks, takes a deep breath, exhales, and opens his mouth. “I think I like you.”
