I Don't Suffer I Just Have It

Time Blocking

I have to be there by 5:30pm, but I need to shower and do my makeup so I need at least 2 or 3 hours for that, but I should give myself time so im not rushing because I hate being rushed and I know I'm gonna want to eat before I go so I should make time for that and picking out an outfit will take some time so I need to start getting ready at like 11am you know incase there’s traffic and im not rushing

Zayne doesn’t question it and just gets ready in 30 minutes while you still run around getting dressed Rafayel rushes you just to piss you off and immediately regret it when you tell him to leave without you because you’re not going anymore Xavier when you tell him the rundown of your getting ready time he’s confused until he wakes up an hour before you need to leave and you’re still getting ready Sylus happily just watches you get dressed while he’s still in bed

ADD/ADHD Pause

That moment when you need to turn the lights off, but you need to grab your car keys off the kitchen counter, but your jacket is still in your room so you can’t turn the room light off just yet and you need to grab your travel mug from the fridge so now you’re just stutter stepping in one spot trying to do everything at once

Zayne tells you to grab your drink while he grabs everything else Rafayel puts his hands on your shoulders and directs into your room to grab your jacket and then asks what else needs to be done Xavier quietly grabs everything for you Sylus grabs your chin, tilting it up to look at him and simply says “One thing at a time sweetie”

Nightly/Tired Zoomies

Hysterically laughing at anything and thinking of everything funny that’s ever made you laugh right before bed or when you get tired. Crackhead energy.

Zayne sweetly smiles while you tire yourself out and cuddles you when you lay down and pass out in his arms Rafayel is cackling with you and not just laughing, but also adding onto the jokes you both end up laughing until you’re in tears Xavier he’s already knocked out while you’re still up laughing at videos on your phone Sylus teases you the entire time which only makes you laugh more then makes you lay down because he knows you’re just sleepy

Non-verbal and/or Overstimulated

Those moments when you just don’t feel like talking and everything is pissing you off especially unnecessary noises

Zayne leaves you be and just sends you texts to check on you. Turns on your favorite show when he’s about to eat so you don’t yell at him for making too much noise Rafayel still wants your attention so he just lays on you hoping it would make you feel better. it works for a while until the sound of his breathing starts irritating you “Why are you breathing so loud?” “Im sorry for being alive??” Xavier leaves you alone and just leaves you little snacks in case you get hungry he knows you’ll come talk to him when you’re ready Sylus simply texts you when you don’t feel like speaking sends the twins in to see how irritable you are because if you get snappy with them he knows you’ll bite his head off

Vocal Stimming

A new random sentence or song snippet every week from “FLINT LOCKWOOD” to “Say its fine (fiiiinneee) happens all the time” to just random noises when the silence is silencing too much

Zayne just looks at you and goes on about his day Rafayel gets them stuck in his head now he’s randomly saying it too Xavier questions it “Where did that come from?” Sylus just lets you do your thing chuckles from time to time because he finds it cute

(The Reef has many saltwater pools for relaxation and community bonding. There are several rooms as well with aquariums, touch pools, and museums about gem history, the Reef, and Pearls, as well as some about marine animals of the galaxy, and one specifically for Earth marine life. There is a main bedroom/relaxing room for Pearls, with carved shell beds afield with soft cushions amd pillows and blankets, with lights that turn off when needed, and doors that open when the guards command it. The gems who maintain the Reef are nicer than they appear, but Reader is still scared of them because of what they did, yet Reader tries to act like nothing is wrong, in case anyone discovers they remember being human. There is a check-up/rejuvenating room, where the Pearls are inspected, and if needed, rejuvenated, so they won't remember being human or anything besides waking up at the Reef. There is art along different walls, murals of different gems and plenty of Pearls, all in different colors and gem shapes. And there are plenty of recreational rooms, for making art or fixing things or reading holo pads or gardening or whatever you could think of...)

How quickly everything you love can be ripped out from under you��and I’m not only thinking of my parents’ death when I say this. Jaxon was taken from me as quickly as he was given, leaving me with an emptiness I never knew was possible.

I’m lucky enough to be surrounded by people who care, and I think that’s the only reason I’ve made it. Macy keeps life colorful. Though she’s been more of a fan of black since Xavier’s death, she has allowed her hair to return to the familiar hot pink it was when I got to Katmere, and that’s a win in my book. Flint keeps the laughter going, and not just for me. There’s not a single situation he couldn’t lighten up. Luca follows Flint around like a puppy, but he’s quickly picked up on his boyfriend’s humor. Mekhi and the rest of the Order have warmed up, and they feel like regular members of the group now.

Those are the easy ones.

Jaxon has been brooding around since he broke up with me - before that really, but it’s been worse the last few weeks. Dealing with him has been like trying to heard wild cats in the rain, whilst juggling the pins that are school work, my social life, our impending prison sentence, and my mate situation.

And that leaves Hudson. Hudson, who I never know what to do with. He’s the one person I want to run to, yet the one person who scares me the most. Not that I’m afraid of him. I’m only afraid of what I might lose if I do end up running to him.

It’s been three days since he kissed me by the pavilion, three days since I’ve been able to hold my thoughts together, three days of my mind being unable to wrap around the feelings I have every time I think of him. I want so badly to have a conversation with him without him shutting me out or getting defensive. Yet here we are, a day before we’re set to head out to the Dragon Court, and there’s a heaviness in the pit of my stomach just thinking of it.

I’m terrified that the Circle will find a way around the rules and arrest both of us, or worse, just Hudson. I think that would be the tombstone on top of my grave, encasing me inside forever.

I decide it’s now or never as I climb down the stairs toward his room. I don’t even know if he’s there, but I’ve made up my mind that I’ll just wait for him if he isn’t. I think I’ll always wait for him now.

Getting a little ahead of yourself, Grace.

I shake my thought away, closing in on the door. How Hudson-like that thought was. I wonder if my mind echoes his mantras now that he is in the flesh and not in my head. It sure has been a lot quieter since he left my mind, and I have to admit that I do miss him being there sometimes. Sure, it was a bit annoying not being able to be alone, but at the same time, he was always there to help, even though I didn’t realize what he was doing until he was gone.

I’m yanked from my thoughts as he subsequently yanks open the door. Of course he knew I was here - this is Hudson we’re talking about.

“Hi,” I say quietly, already studying his expression to gauge the situation I’m about to put myself into. “Can we talk?”

“Very straight-to-the-point of you,” he responds quickly, so quickly and straight faced that I fear he is annoyed, but he raises a brow, and his dimple makes an appearance with a small grin. “Of course.” He steps aside, and I follow him, letting him close the door behind me.

Before I can even gather myself, my eyes are darting to that ridiculously loud, yet sexy - so so sexy - bed of his. My cheeks must match the color of the comforter because he is smirking behind me. I can just feel it.

I don’t know how long I stand in embarrassment, but it’s long enough for him to lay a hand on my shoulder, gently turning me just enough to face him.

“Are you alright, Grace?”

“I’m fine. Why wouldn’t I be?” I ask, trying to even remember how I planned on starting this conversation. Maybe I shouldn’t. I could just ask him to study, or watch a movie, or literally anything else.

That’s not why I’m here though, and I think he knows it. He doesn’t answer my question, but he does reach up and wrap one of my curls around his finger. I wish I could truthfully say that it doesn’t make me melt, but it does.

Just another thing that he also knows without me having to say it.

That’s the thing with Hudson. He may not be in my head anymore, but that doesn’t stop him from reading my mind.

He’s still toying with my curl when I reach up to grab his hand. I pull it down and intertwine my fingers with his, and I instantly feel both of us lose some of the tension in our bodies. He smiles at me gently, and I return it, unsure of how to start. I continue in silence, tugging him slightly to the couch and away from the bed. Those are the thoughts I try to push as far from the surface as possible. Hudson sits next to me and puts his hand on my leg. He already had the TV on, and it looks like Return of the Jedi is about halfway through. I’m offended.

“You watched it without me?” I ask, dramatically clutching my chest. He laughs.

“I would’ve asked, but I got tired of waiting for the right moment.” I scrunch my eyebrows in confusion. “You know, because you’ve been avoiding looking me in the eyes ever since our little moment outside?”

The heat is back in my face, and I struggle to find the words I need. Here he is, just staring at me, and I probably look like I can’t breathe.

“If it was too much, Grace,” he says quietly but firmly. “I can back off. I was just so set on kissing you, and you wouldn’t let me go. I knew I couldn’t not kiss you, not right then.” It sounds like he’s apologizing, and that’s not what I came here to get.

“That’s not it,” I somehow breathe out. Nothing else follows those words though, and I fear he doesn’t believe me. “I promise, Hudson.” I panic and spit the words out. He notices the pickup in my breathing, and I’m sure he can hear my heart beating out of my chest. Almost immediately, his hands are on top of mine.

“Take a breath, please,” he urges. “I’m not accusing you of anything. It’s okay, Grace.” I breathe in for the first time in what feels like minutes, and I tighten my grip under him.

“Sorry, I don’t know what’s wrong with me.”

I don’t - it’s true. I don’t know why I’m all of a sudden getting nervous around him. I’ve always been comfortable around Hudson, in my head and out, so why now? Why now, when I have limited time to talk to him and possibly limited time left with him. Then I spiral again, unable to get the picture of Hudson in chains out of my head. The panic attack has already arrived at the station, and I can’t do anything to stop it.

“Nothing’s wrong with you, Grace,” he spits out. “I’ve been trying to tell you, but you just don’t listen.” My breath feels harder and harder to suck in. He notices and reaches up to push my hair behind both ears and out of my face. “Look at me.” It’s more of an ask than a command, even though I know he wants to make me. Leave it to Hudson - wanting to take care of me but knowing I can take care of myself. It’s one of the things that makes him different from his brother.

I look up at him in a last ditch effort to free myself from my thoughts, and I find myself able to easily float away from them. That’s the thing about Hudson. He makes me feel everything and nothing all at once, but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t adore it.

“Better?” He asks, his voice thick with concern. I give him a small smile and nod. I try to thank him, but no words come out. “Take your time. I’m not in a hurry.” This is the Hudson I’m not used to. He’s softer, gentler, kinder. It’s nothing like the snarky, pushy Hudson that lived in my head, and I’m trying my hardest not to run from him.

When I finally feel like I can breathe normally again, I try again. “I didn’t come here to talk about you kissing me,” I tell him. “Well, not directly about that kiss.” My cheeks flush again, like I’m unable to spit it out. He looks confused.

“And considering that’s the only time it’s happened, you’ve lost me here.” For the first time since I’ve known him, he doesn’t get the hint and isn’t one step ahead of me. I sigh.

“I’ve never had to spell anything out for you, Hudson. Now this is a shocker.” My comment makes him laugh at me.

“There’s my girl,” he says. “You know, it’s never as fun when you’re serious. I need a sarcastic comment every now and again. Keeps me on my toes.” He winks at me, but I don’t return the mood.

“Hudson, please.”

“What? I was only trying to make you-“

“I know that, but I need something else from you right now.” I say it quicker than I can stop myself, but there’s no going back.

“What do you need?” He asks. There’s not one hint of hesitation in his question. “You can tell me what you need, Grace.” His voice is so low that I can’t think straight.

“I don’t know how to tell you.”

He knows. I know he knows.

“Show me.”

I’ve already given him permission, and he knows that too. His hands are on my face before I can do anything, and he pulls me toward him until our lips only brush. He stops here, even though he knows what I want. He knows he can, but he still stops.

“You don’t have to be nervous anymore, Grace. I’ve got you.” He thumbs over my cheek. “I’ve always got you.” A tear makes its way onto my face, and he backs away, but his gaze doesn’t leave mine. He just stares at me, but with every second that passes, I find more and more peace. It’s not until I’ve completely calmed down that I realize he’s been tugging on the mating bond string, sending me the comfort I needed.

“Thank you,” I tell him, gaining my bearings and taking a deep breath before starting over.

Spit it out, you idiot.

“Hudson, I’m terrified.” It comes out fast and slams into him. His face changes, but I open my mouth again before he has a chance to speak. “Not of going to prison. Even though that seems more terrifying than anything, it’s not my worry anymore.”

Great, tears are coming again.

He puts his hand on my thigh, but he knows I’m not finished.

“What if they take you, and I’m left behind? I can’t live in a world without you in it.”

“Well, technically I’d still be in it.”

“You know what I mean.” I bury my face in my hands. This is so much harder than I ever thought it would be. “I just can’t stop thinking about what I’ll do if they take you alone. About what I would do if I had to look back knowing that the kiss by the pavilion was the only one we ever had.” Finally, I get it out. I feel like I’ve run a marathon.

“So that’s what you came for? A kiss?” My stomach drops. That sounds terrible.

“Hudson, that’s not how it was supposed to sound-“

He cuts me off with a single finger to my lips.

“What if I like the way it sounds?” My body feels like it catches fire. “Grace, I’ve been wanting to kiss you again every second since.” His eyes grow hungry for the first time since I’ve been in here, and I lose it. My hands are in his hair faster than I even know I put them there, tangling my fingers into it and using it to pull myself into his lap. He matches my movements and has a death grip on my hips. He knows what I want, and he’s there to deliver before I have to ask.

I tilt my head to give him access to my neck, and he presses kisses along my jawline and behind my ear. I fight the urge to squeal, but Hudson growls against my skin, and I scramble to pull him closer. He slides his hands under me and takes me with him as he stands up.

I know where he’s headed. I can see it out of the corner of my eye.

I know the sheets weren’t pulled back when I got in here. That slick bastard.

Before I know it, he throws me onto the bed, and he’s right there with me. His mouth is on mine again, and I’m not sure how much time passes before I pull back and force him to let me look at him. I’m breathless and hot.

“Can I ask you something?” He pulls back to get a better look at me, and for the first time, I don’t feel like I have to hide behind my pink cheeks. I’m confident. I know what I want. What I need.

“Ask me anything.”

“Can you make me forget?” I’m breathless as I ask him. “Just for now?”

There’s a hint of surprise in his eyes, but he doesn’t hesitate.

“Grace, are you-“

“I’ve made up my mind. Do something before I change it.” He smiles that devilish smile I’ve come to love so much.

“Oh, Grace. I thought you’d never ask.”

- Koga was a gym leader first and when Surge came to Kanto and got a post as a gym leader; Koga [and Sabrina] did his orientation and whatnot

- Koga gets embarrassed by Anzu cause she starts calling Surge ‘dad’ when it’s clear they’re into each other and not doing anything about it

- They finally get together in Unova (PWT) cause the Indigo League has them room together (Lance denies any involvement but he was a shipper)

- Surge spends the whole week leading up to Koga’s retirement/promotion party wearing shades cause yes, he was very much crying about it

- Koga has a thing for Surge’s boots. Surge has a thing for Koga’s mask.

- There was a betting pool amongst the gym leaders about how long it would take for Koga and Surge to get together. Sabrina was disqualified because of multiple factors; Erika won all the monies.

- They talk to each other about their traumatic pasts and go on the greatest revenge quest Kanto and Unova’s underbellies have ever seen. Sabrina and Anzu are involved of course.

- Koga starts a traditional medicine store, same thing as whatever’s going on in Cianwood, except he also teaches. Surge starts a small gym cause why not. They’re right next to each other.

- they decide to get married and it’s the sweetest thing ever (in terms of timeline, Red and Green get married way before them, and so do Lance and Bruno)

- honeymoon in Alola; they get invited to the battle tree; Koga meets and loves-hates Grimmsley, Surge meets and is incredibly amused by Ryuki.

- the end? I wish I threw in a bit more Sabrina but I can always do that another time

MY FAVOURITE SHIPS + ONE THING I LIKE/HEADCANON ABOUT THEM:

- Red x Green: I really like that all their canon interactions set them up for major pining and slowburn

- Lance x Bruno: headcanon that everyone knows Lance and Bruno are a thing except Lance himself. They even live together

- Morty x Falkner: Headcanon that Morty and Walker’s ghost (Walker is Falkner’s dad) are doing their best to help Falkner past his feelings of inadequacy compared to his dad’s legacy

- Gold x Silver: I think I’ve talked about this before: I think their dynamic is Gold chasing Silver and when they both realise why (love), it’s Silver who chases Gold

- Archie x Maxie: they really really like the protagonist; they’re basically the protag’s second set of parents (game canon specifically)

- Ruby x Sapphire: idk where to start, but if you’ve read PokeSpe you definitely understand

- Flint x Volkner: I headcanon that they break up for about two years and Palmer (whom I believe is Volkner’s dad) constantly calls Flint ‘Volkner’s boyfriend’ even though they… aren’t

- Diamond/Pearl/Platinum: I really like their dynamic in PokeSpe. Whether you read it as platonic or romantic or something else, they’re just… great for each other

- Marlon/Brawly: they only ever get to see each other in summer. Headcanon that one of them moves, but I’m not sure who.

- Drayden/Alder: this is a bara thing. That’s all I’ve got to say.

- Black/N: wherever N goes, Black will always find him and N will always let him. They only ever really get to stay together when they’re much older.

- Sycamore/Lysandre: I like it cause in my mind it’s a doomed, enjoy it when it lasts kind of romance. They’re ignoring a lot about each other to be together, and it’s sad to to watch. Also Bara.

- Shauna/Yvonne or Xavier: I just think it’s funny how Shauna drops the most ‘I’m smitten’ lines on the balcony at the Parfum Palace and then it just… never goes anywhere

- Gladion/Hau: I feel like they really bring out the best in each other, noticeably more than any other ship I’ve listed. Also, the fact that THEY are the sun and moon parallel amongst the human characters is really really neat.

- Kukui/Guzma: they have a very special understanding of each other. No matter where they are in life, I think they’ll always have a special place in each other’s hearts. This is accounting for Kukui being married, btw.

Haven’t played Gen 8 or 9 or interacted with much media from there, so I have nothing to say in that regard.
